ruby, some people can never change, it doesn't make it ea4 for you, my dear, at his age, sometimes th4 just can't see the wood for the tr4s
being brilliant can actually stand in the way of insights. Too smart for our own good, I know how that works. And too old now for therapy, even if he would consider that at all, which he won't. So take care of yourself, ruby. Seriously. Find ways to feel happy, even if his majesty is acting out again.
and yes, it is a shame he has never tried therapy... cause it plants some seed and helps somewhat, sometime. Genius doesn't mean great!

many years ago, I went through a couple of bad depressions (I always thought they were physiological, not situational), but after several years of various kinds of thearapies, I got better
I think therapy can be a real blessing. It doesn't change things for you, but it can help teaching you how to change them yourself.
yes, finding the right therapy for the situation that brought you to depression is God-send

and it's like with doctors, sometimes you have to "shop around" a little or even a lot
yes, that is very true. I tried many therapists and then found a psychiatrist who actually specializes in the disorder I have. She is amazing and I learn lots from her.
I went to a behavior modification guy to deal with one problem, to a transactional guy for me difficult life with first husband, with a Freudian woman to work through probs with my mother (totally fixed) and then, finally with a gestalt psychiatrist, who put all the pieces back together in 1975!
I was lucky to have found good docs but also to have been receptive to their help
very lucky indeed!

i just put them in a spreadsheet, use the LEFT command to keep only the first two letters of the words, then when it's all nice i move it to a doc, and thence to babanon or profile. is that what you do neil?
