hello everyone :)
hi cyber
hi, jilli, glad to read your leg is better.
hello
si6
di7
SN6
greetings, all. We had a very interesting meeting yesterday about possibly remodeling our master bath to include a walk-in tub.
hi angel
a walk-in tub sounds good
ni6/7
cool angel
Di6
the tub we have is fine for most people, but for me, it's a potential danger.
ea6
Ni 6/7 if not called
sn 7 doesnt work??
EA 6
hi nan, via, uncover, melon, everyo0ne I missed
hi jilli
hey jilli
does anyone have the stats for the O on the 5th column?
Hi Uncover.
hey
Angel, we have thought lately about a walk-in tub, too, would be interested in hearing about your experiences if you do put one in.
I'm against walk-in tubs
why ru?
<==glutton for punishment
they look scary to me, like a big leak waiting to happen, but...
what's next.. crawl in tubs
ru, I need something a lot safer than we have now. I have struggled with this for five years.
i used ot use a walk in shower
I don't think I'd enjoy sitting there until the water's gone, either, but you'd have to.
nbt
i have been thinking of changing my tub to a large shower with a built-in bench and hand shower adapter
cyber what are the stats for the O on the 5th column?
wtg cyber
what worries me about walk-in tubs is emptying them while you sit there wet and shivering.
There are several "unwell" words in this grid.
jmc i hate hand held shower heads
hi folks
Hi ru. You're renting out your Babble profile huh?
cyber what are the stats on the right hand O please
why mlf?
<==never learns
yes, jilli, that was one of my worries, too, but I guess maybe if your drain's fast it might not be so bad
hi sammy
too cumbersome for me to use
ni 7
yup.. thought I'd get back my investment in babble
ot 4 and od 4
I see ru. Well good luck to you with that.
nbt
I have a feeling you may need it. lol
thanks cyber
nbt
So would you put any picture and text in your bio page for the right price?
shouldn't take long to get back your $14, ru...
wtg mlf
di 7 x2
looks like he is only renting out the pic
ty cyber
text is extra
Oh, darn. Well still... a picture's worth 1,000 words.
i think they look too much like a hospital
anyone have stats for either 8?
$14. Yeah... that'll buy so much these days.
I just know I miss having a real tub, we only have a big shower, and I wanna soak.
I tend to like showers
and hubby can't climb in and out of a tub anymore.
I'd hate to not have a bathtub.
si 6/33
oh.. well in that case that sounds useful rbud
Sure ru, we usually take showers. But once in a while a soak in the bath is nice.
I haven't had a bath in years, lol, don't get too close, heehee! ;p
i only shower but i remember soaking in my jacuzzi (now broken) tub with sore muscles
late flip
hi flosey
Hi flosey.
Yeah even a warm bath is good for that jilli.
hi flosey
nbt
mmmm, jacuzzi tub...
hi jilli
hi scrambler you snuck in
I tend to play submarine in the tub.. so showers are better
Hi All!! NBT
Ugh, ru.
Dangerous!
Hi dizrannie.
<--- not gonna ask! :P
so i will have to get a new tub if i want the jacuzzi to work
:D
hi diz
hi diz and wtg
hi all
nice
I gave up playing with toy boats in the tub a while ago. Last year. :P
i am still looking for the top 4 column i
tenio
who's talking about boats
Thinking we may just get both, a new shower and tub both, separately.
rbud good idea
JMC in 5
pb there scrambler
stats for either 8 please?
now yer talkin, rbud
ty diz *looking*
Well probably not you ru... knowing your mind.
I'd love to have that setup, rbud.
slap me with a fish but i gots nbt so i don't care
But right now we're just lucky to actually have this apartment.
i have a shower on the first floor but i fill it with plants in the winter
hi neil! what does nbt mean, still a greenhorn!
he wants to use his shower chair, then where do I keep it if I want in? right now we have a tiny bathroom, but have the potential to remodel so that we have one twice as large, soon.
"No blank tiles."
And hi, scrambler!
no blank tile -- you have a word from each letter that has one
ohhh heheh;3
We have a tiny bathroom too. I guess you'd just have to move it out of the tub and put it back after?
hi scrambler
I always thought it was no butt touching
that is why i was thinking about a built in bench rbud
rb doesnt the shower chair fold?
Only in your case, ru... only in your case. :P
have any 8's been called?
*checks butt* nbt!
Better guard it, jmc. With ruru around.
they make built in benches that fold up out of the way rbub
no cyber i have asked for stats for eiher of them twice no
now
not this one, it's a big solid thing he got from his brother (who passed away)
jmc and chairs too
hahaha i have grossed ru out so many times i feel perfectly safe
rbud get rid of it and get something that folds up against the wall
came with some lovely handles that suction onto the shower walls
jilli's favorite word is in the grid
oh -- thanks, ruru -- hadn't noticed!
jill
opps . . . . pb for me and others so** is in the grid!
jill's favourite? -- not etna, nor anoa nor ayah
how could I have missed it!
*looks for ben gay in the cabinet in the pb*
lol jmc i saw that
cyber which one do you have?
te5/12 and pl, nan
wouldn't ben be in the closet instead jm?
and I'd prefer amah to ayah because I was a kid in China, not India
oh - ty - had missed it also
Haha!
which what do I have mlf?
Oh ru... did you get my email from last night? Sent you 2 of them I think but you logged out before I could tell you in here.
of the 8s?
yes.. i did.. a great parody
glad A has a good sense of humor
i dont have either and would like the stas please?
Oh ok, yeah. Figured you'd laugh!
I don't have any 8's
he 6/36
He loves it... thinks it's hysterical.
it is
Don't think I want to know what a "number 3" is.
phant -- idiot
tried it too jilli
si 6/33
i was hoping that one would work jill
LOL
okay i am off maybe see you later
toodles, jmc
bye jm.. nice to see you
si 6/33 x 3
na 7/32
yay, k's done!! ka 4, ke 4, 4, 5, 4, 4, ko 4, 5, 4, 4, 5
si 6/33 x 4
Clues are up
are more than one of these K words real, rbud?
Thanks, mrp
Thanks, mrp!
thanks, mrp, now feeling anticlimactic about my k list, lol
the K's are all pretty much not so real, jilli. but easy to monkey, at least
ko 4 and 5 are like Pepsi, the ka 4 is a name, if you ask me
I've heard of citizens with that name ;)
yup, that's the name, nan! :)
found a re 8
yay, ruru!
what's not a real word? the parrot? the baby quail? the buddhist sayings?
wtg ru
I should have said "familiar", rasta
lol, rasta, guess they're just not words I ever use. ;p
if those are k's rasta, I now know why I haven't found them
I use inia all the time
except after "gee, nifty ke4" - haha!
I do do too ru.. in boggle and Scrabble games.
I am missing a T word somehow.
you use it as inia outia
well, I guess we have ke4s running around here all spring... and I have a buddhist sister...
Oh geez. :P
LOL
<fell for that one
I'm thinking what I should send you tonight ru... for your next laugh. Oh, I know!
nbs - ty ruru
[uploading now]
wtg nan!
ty jill
Oh whew. Found that T.
helo did it get you to heaven neil?
hello
hi vanilla
thinking ti6
mrs. ru is pissed at me
ruh ro ru
why, ru?
dinner was too good and she ate too much
poor mrs ru -- NOT!
you heartless bum, how could you? ;p
now I'm pissed at you ru
I know.. I know.. I know better
I told her to stop
caus i didn t get any of that dinner
I have to shed 7 lbs at least :-(
you can come and cook dinner for me, then
same here
from your down time jilli.. you'll do it
I wish, ru
cl 6/33
come on.. you couldn't get any exercise jilli.. you'll normalize
zzzz -- 'night all
I've put the pounds on since the down time -- no booze or wine in the hospital...
night via
viajes fell asleep, let's put funny makeup on her, lol
p.s. I want some of ruru's dinner too
oops, caught in the act
*puts shaving foam on her hands*
oh no!
will you put my bra in the freezer?
my mom said that's what she and her friends did to each other when they fell asleep
what's that for, ru? is it like dipping her hand in warm water? ;p
though I think that was at camp and stuff, cuz it's harder if the people are wearing them
heehee, bra in the freezer, that's funny!
no.. then you ti6 them and they smoosh it on their face
ROFL!!!
I used to do that to my brother all the time
wow, no wonder you two fought a lot
I'm just glad the shaving cream was not for shaving my head
I got even with him when he slept.. he was a deep sleeper
145 down - enough for now - see you tomorrow :)
once my hubby had someone shave off half his mustache while he was passed out, lol
nan wins! I have 144
but I'm going ... bye again and this time for real *poof*
night, viajes!
ticketer? no?
we did worse than that rbud
gnight again, via
late fliip. just got off the phone with a giril i hadnt seen in 20 years.. we talked for 3 hours..
hi cos
hi jill.. saw u made ur move.. had a very complicated day... ryan finally had his breakdown and his mom and i had to take him to rehab. this was long overdue
oh dear, cos!
one of my buddies got really, really drunk at his bachelor party.. and passed out.. one of our friends was a pre-med so we put one of his legs in a case.. and told him a few days before his wedding that he broke a bone in his leg.. so he had to do his whole wedding with a tuxedo slit up the leg and on crutches.. he was always pulling jokes on everyone else so we got him back.. on his honeymoon.. someone called him to tell him he could take of the cast and he just howled with laughter
its good cause now we know he means what he said by wanting to quit drinking.
wow Cos.. good luck for Ryan
you have a great outlook about this, cos
we'll see how things go but im hopeful for once
Ryan is your significant other cos?
husband yes
are you getting support and going to al-anon meetings?
Ok ru check email.
he doesnt want to do AA because of the religous aspect. we're looking in other options. probably therapy.
will do neil.. in a bit
I wasn't talking about him.. I was asking about you
Oh wow ru... what a prank, haha!
therapy will certainly help too
it was neil.. if you knew the jokes this guy played on all of us..
AA doesn't have to be religious -- just a recognition that there is a power greater than you. My hubby was in AA and not religious.
(((hugs))) for cos, hope it goes well
thats what I told him jill but hes stubborn .. we'll see what he says after rehab
good for him cos.. I hope it gets better
thanks rbud :)
agree with jilli - found al anon a great help
great story, ru, that beats most I've heard! :)
will cut and paste ur words and shwo him :)
al anon is a tremendous help in learning the best way to be in the relationship
yes, al anon is for the families of those who have the problems
wise words, ruru
two trees!
no not two trees lol el4 isnt a tree never mind
oh ok will look into al anon for myself then
I was looking, cos! ;p (had the one variety)
lol sorry :)
it's tough to learn how not to enable, etc
*nods head*
Speaking of being passed out drunk: http://tinyurl.com/87ywbbg [I know I may regret this!]
ewwwww, that ain't pretty, haha! ;p
No kidding. :P
nbs at last
you look a little twisted there neil
And I never want to feel like that or like I did the next morning... EVER again.
almost like Ryan Seacrest in a hoodie after electro shock therapy
my house is now completely dry
wtg jill
ah, a little reminder
that's an important start cos
look everywhere
neat belt buckle, though! :D
Haha, ru... c'mon I don't look THAT bad?!
yep... tomorrow im gona check the ceilings and behind the appliances etc
*note to self.. remind neil to shave belly button*
lol ... not even gonna ask
at least he wasn't drooling
No ru. I never drool.
I haven't found one word in ten minutes
and no random lipstick or makeup, or shaving creamed hands, lol
there might be "other" pictures rbud
scary thought! O_O
NBT
Random lipstick or makeup? Like this, rbud? http://tinyurl.com/83zybol
[yep that's me... it was halloween]
<--- if neil's brother ever writes to me.. I'm asking him for some juicy pictures
hahaha, no, that looks good! ;p
oh -- just noticed -- well over halfway
you look like Brett Michaels without the head trauma neil
I got in trouble for getting that drunk though. And got a serious telling off for it: http://tinyurl.com/7ud4ldu
Gee thanks ru. What a compliment!
..and the bandana
Oh yeah. Can't forget that.
ROFL
What's so funny ru?
i have to go now.. Dylan wants a walk.. good night.. thanks for the laughs..
There's more in your email ru.
nbt/nbs
So check that out later.
later, ru, thanks to you, too! :)
And have a good one.
okay..thanks.I've enjoyed them
I'm off too... night people.
wtg cos
And yeah. Thanks for the laughs you've provided too ru... even if I've groaned a little too much. :P
gnight ru and Dylan
Goodnight everyone.
night, neil!
gnight neil
wow, I should try to sleep, have to get up early and drop our son at jail for a 10-day stretch... but he's still up out there with a bunch of buddies partying
hate to admit it, but Hubs and I are looking forward to the peace and quiet for the duration, ahhhh....
jail???
(driving while suspended, if anyone wondered.)
he has no sense.
sounds like it, rbud -- how old is he?
he'll be 21 in June
oh well, he'll grow up, rbud
I sure hope so, can't wait.
had a friend at our party last week talking about how "common sense" is an oxymoron, and he's going to start calling it "uncommon sense", since it's now so rare. I had to agree, lol
too true!
LOL love that
well, 85 left and sleepytime -- goodnight all and ...*poof
night, jilli, and glad to see your celebratory icon, congrats! :)
geez, just had a bunch of 20-somethings raiding my fridge, sigh... hope they leave some for tomorrow
seems like all my son's friends are always starving, and they all know I cook a lot of food.
we're just popular that way here, lol
yay, at last an 8, and with 83 left, I'm gone. night all!
May I please have a clue for di8-45? Thanks
to "dig up"
dig up from the grave
Oh, thanks so much, Dianne and rose.
Rose!
And yep... I'm back for a few.
good morning (evening) everyone
sorry, neil, was busy reading your emails. what a hoot!!!!
{{{{ruby}}}}}lots of hugs, darling
{{hello dear rose}}
and hello to neil, too
Haha, Rose... I've just read yours.
Yeah. Too funny huh?
Hi Ruby. :)
went and saw best exotic hotel marigold today. thought himself would be bored.
but the one liner, where the topic of a 40th wedding anniversary celebration.....how to do so.....and the reply was....one minute's silence....had himself guffawing
it sounded wonderful from the reviews
<-- loves judi dench and maggie smith!
ruby, it is definitwely a must see. judy dench, maggie smith....they are absolutely marvellous.
unfortunately, I'll have to wait 'til it's on TV; husband won't go to the movies
lol, snap ruby
and I don't want to see it dubbed in French with my friend who won't see original language films
hmmmm, let me see what i can work out from this end. will talk later.
btw, my canary, appropriately named psycho, has had to be moved out of mother mac's rooms.
was he dive-bombing?
May I please have a clue for re7-32? Thannks
the heat in her rooms makes him pull his feathers out. and, yes, we do have to keep the temperature up that high. she has a cardiac problems, and if she gets too cold, she has angina attacks.
{{peach}}
peach, re7, wash again, then plural for re8
rufie has a "hot spot", now measuring about 5 inches in diameter but I think it's under control
Thanks so much, rose!
((((((ruby))))))
Rose?
ruby, where abouts is rufie's hot spot?
the vet said, in French "we call this a 'hot spot' in France" lol
yes neil
How in the world are you my dear?
I was worried sick that he was allergic to something I was feeding him and that it was my fault
Check this out: http://tinyurl.com/83uheht
it is in the depression on his back where chows keep their curly tails, so he keeps biting it
happily, our vet makes huse calls
thanx neil, will do. and ruby, is it worth clipping his fur/hair in that area to keep it cooler?
the vet clipped a lot of the hair, but it's a question of his letting it heal
Sort of a Dr. Herriot. Remember the English vet that wrote those wonderful books a few decades ago?
You have a psychotic canary, Rose?
I could face the idea of an Elizabethan collar for such a sweetie
Maybe he needs a... yeah, a cone.
couldn't*
Well I could if it meant the wound would heal.
And you could put some medicated ointment on it too, if the vet recommends that?
It's not like he'd have to wear it permanently.
I've read those books, gapeach.
oh yes, he has a cortisone cream, betadine, antibiotics and a calmant. I think he'll be OK.
"All Creatures Great And Small", "All Things Bright And Beautiful"... yeah. They were good. Made into a TV series too.
he has such a good disposition, wagged his tail the whole time the vet was here and she was medicating him and giving him shots, that I don't want him to be more upset
yes neil my canary is psychotic...problem is he thinks he's a budgerigar....and acts like it.
Huh Rose?
Ruby, who hadn't seen this vet in 3 years and who only had her nails clipped, remembers her and growls! chows are like elephants
Why would he think he's a budgie? Does he live with some?
Dogs don't forget people Ruby. At least our 2 never did.
Did you see that photo yet Rose?
Figured you'd laugh.
Ruby, did you find the book "A Gift from Brittany"? I kept it on my desk for a while....thought I'd send it over to you.....someone, obviously, snitched it.
aand chows are totally unforgiving
don't know, neil. he just behaves like one. any paper left near his cage he shreds. he loves his mirror, and little ladder, and swing.
it's on order, peach. Thanks for recommending it
omg, neil, that's you????how old are you there?
I think you will like it. It reminds me of you...
even the shop from where we bought him can't work it out. and he is such a beautiful singer.
I was 12 there, Rose! Haha.
Don't canaries usually like mirrors, ladders and swings?
Canary song is beautiful.
And I've just replied to your last email btw.
no neil, ladders etc don't usually amuse them. my canary sits on the perch below his swing, and as he sings, hits the swing with his head so that it swings in time to his song. and you should see him in his bath....
May I please have a clue for ol5-12? Thanks
he gets into his bath, and his little feet go up and down, like he is paddling...it is soooo cute
Sounds funny, Rose!
He's a real character huh?
ol5, spanish cheer + In Charge
Aww. You should get video of him doing that!
he gives us all so much delight....but mother mac will be saddened by the fact we have had to move him out of her rooms. he is just outside her doorway, so she can come out and talk to him. and we will put him back once the heating is no longer required
It's after 5:00AM here.....think I'll head to my bed.
{{peach}} sweet dreams
Great talking with you, rose and Ruby. Perhaps we will get to talk later.
should think so, peach, hope you can get some good zzz's in.
Good night... or morning, gapeach.
and I'll let you know when I've read the book
Canaries don't like much heat, Rose?
well, they do neil, but there has to be a cool spell inbetween. they moult at the first sign of warm weather....but with the heater in mother mac's rooms, he thinks it is costantly summer. hence he pulls out his heathers.
it's been fun and an easy 1230, but time to get moving.
Oh, ok.
{{hugs everybody}}
Did you see my reply to your email Rose?
120*!!!
Take care Ruby!
yes, neil, still laughing.....
bye neil
putting on barkeep's outfit!
Oh, at how they lyrics were changed there?
later, ruby, my dear. just hang in there. nothing lasts forever.
A barkeep, Ruby?
campari, neil
He's terrible. :P
but soo lovable....please give him my fondest regards
Will do.
now, neil. this is really the truth...( remember what i told you? ) after 7pm here....need to go and get dinner ready. love and hugs, mate, hope you sleep well when you finally hit the hay.
Yeah, just heading there again now, Rose.
Take care... talk to you soon. :)
AND MOTOGP IS ON!!!!!
Love and hugs to you too!
thanx neil, you too, buddy
Ok... enjoy. I'm gonna join my g/f in slumber and snoring. :P
Bye for now!

hi everyone clues for the 8s please
i don't have them yet... guess others are in the same boat
name that proper noun! children's author lemony
i have one of 8 not sure how to clue it :(
I have one 8 di8/45 - to take out of a grave
if it still dirty you can re@@@@@ it thats the 7 then add a letter
Thanks for both of those
do not get clue for other 8 :(
di and 7 deadly ones and ***rapin(little turtle)
i see you've gone pro sarah.you have a lovely looking family :)
ty :) all my girls
i see you make cards, me too. do you watch create and craft?
i have done yes but can not buy a lot from them i use ebay as cheaper lol
ty everyone
i like watching the demos
snicket..is the author
course i dont know how long ago that was asked lol
got other 8 now ty x
my girls love making the cards to :)
my mum is craftylady thats who got me into making them :)
yw.my daughter does too, which is nice as it is something that families can do together
i work in the childrens room at the library .terrible at crafts, but my boss is great at it.. quite the artist
well, it's alot cheaper than buying them in the shops
snicket is in the grid
yes it is my 4 year old love doing them she 1st at table if i get stuff out lol
sounds fun ivesy. ny daughter can use a sewing machine well too, but didn't get theat from me, that'sfrom my mam....i can't even sew a button..lol
someone asked who the author was..lemony snicket
yes it's in the grid
aww, bless her :)
it is fun. and i am learning.. i make the worlds worse snowflakes lol.. but we have fun with the kids. every summer we have a program with different crafts, themes. this year its dream big... books, crafts all based on nite time activities..
lol...but that's the fun of making things.sounds great ivesy. do alot of children get involved?
oh yes.. we are swamped all summer. good feeling seeing the little ones be involved with their parents. the one who reads the most books gets their name on a plaque in a book of their choice.
our library has a summer program too - good to get them into the library with something fun to do - see books as fun
agree wv.. my project this year is creatures of the night.. they will all dress up .. i think im going to be a vampire !
lovely! when my daughter was younger, we use to go to the library every week and she'd get a ton of books and we'd sit down together and read through them and every night she'd get me to read her a story, well, normally ended up being a few..lol. she still likes to read now which is great!
sounds fun ivesy
do something with bats - and te positive things about bats - read book steelaluna
i don't think children read enough....when i use to help out at my daughter's old school with reading, there were 10 year olds who couldn't read...the parents didn't do anything to help them either as they said that was the schools job!!
good idea.. we plan on hanging paper bats from ceiling and making spider cookies out of oreos..also can go the space way, with stars, moon, etc
i think kids read more if they see parents read
as you can see i get a bit carried away about my job. but the library has always been my fave place.
i agree teach. the problem is that kids are too busy playing on game stations, wii games, etc
only if parents let them - they need to read but also to be outside playing
it's good that you love your job ivesy, which is great for the kids as they see that you are enjoying what you do and that makes it more fun for them
i agree teach...my daughter has a nintendo ds but she's not on it all the time...she's not allowed to for one thing, but she plays out every day and reads before bed
hiya Babble friends :)
hello sprite
hi sprite
oh I agree. My kids love to be outdoors, and my daughter is an avid reader. My son is not so much of a reader, but he can get into a book and really enjoy it from time to time. It takes work from the parents, but it is absolutely possible, even in these computer game times.
hi sprite
11 Ks? Jeeezzz!
i'm not enjoying this grid
one more... one more...
Well i only have 2 of them!
hi xei, that is a good start though!
I have been here for hours! lol
yay there it is. Nothing over 5 letters for the K words. Now to babble...
lol! But Ks are notoriously hard to find.
yay sprite :)
:)
ok, explain to me.... psst is a word. Pfui is a word. But eeks is not a word?
k's not that bad actually :)
gm, everyone. clue for the lone E, first colum fourth row?
it is probably me, lill... my brain shuts down as soon as it sees a K in the grid...
hi dawg!
hi sprite!
ae6...more simpler?
hi lbd
ea even
ea 6/18 - opposite of not harder
lol ty, liliann
*grins* Babble blindness hits!
ty, wv

no, i don't like k's either sprite so i normally leave them to the end but they weren't too bad tday :)
you are right. For Ks, they weren't that bad. Still, they were Ks :)
lol
have 9 of the 11 K's
I killed them all before starting on the rest.
only have 7 - only recognize 1 of them
the good new is, they are all small. 4s and 5s.
now, the io's are different story!!!
more than one ka?
hi all
morning, carlee
only the one, dawg
no lbd
io's can be bad too.
hiya carlee :)
morning dawg
hi carlee
ty, will stop beating those two letters up,
hi lill sprite {{group hug}}

t's and p's for your friend, carlee.
i hope everything works out well for your friend carlee
are you going after her, carlee? Or do you have to wait and hear when she will be ready for visitors?
53 remaining. must be off to get ready for work. see you all later, hagd!
bye dawg, have a lovely day too
bye lbd.tc
darn... french for century is not valid. Impossible to predict which foreign words will take.
i try them all too, sprite! LOL
lol Une :) Hi, ni4 to see you!
you too, sprite :-) now off to pick up food donations for soup kitchen -- byeee *poof*
oh she in another city..she in london...100 km away...we were in high school together..she suffered a nervous break down years ago from some events ( not for public forum) and something is stillholding her back...its in her subconscious
bye, have a good one!
and she is disassociating right now..suffering panic attacks
Prayers out for your friend, Carlee.
thanks molls
some things are just too hard to take, carlee... she will need time then. I hope she will get the right kind of help and support.
very sad for your friend, carlee..thoughts and prayers are going to her
It's good that she has you to lean on through this.
i just talked ( typed) her through a panic attack....sparkles help 9 i tell her to visualize that knot of fear as slowly breaking up into sparkles..and with every exhale through the mouth she blows out the sparkles
that is a great visualisation, carlee. Will remember that one.
in some ways she is.... childlike....this event has left her very scarred...she lost her job as a stewardess because of it..lost custody of her son
may she find her way back to a good sense of Self, carlee... I second Molly, glad she has you for a friend.
she on welfare :( ...is very sad... she is so very kind hearted and sweet
ok;... well instead of babbling..crisis averted..she on way to urgent care at hospital...and now i have to get ready... you all have a good day...
you too, carlee. Take care of yourself too... don't forget *hug*
((carlee))

can anyone help with ac5/12 or ac5/20 please?
hi medusa! I have ac5/20... ac + very good eyes are ***n.
ac5/12 is ac and dry mart***
thanks lill
or james bond drink...stirred but not shaken
thanks lil
yw sprite
thanks sprite
yvw :)
yw medusa
i like ac5/20 had it in jamaica
never looked it up, thought it was a kind of exclamation, lol. Will check it out for meaning now.
it's a fruit sprite
ok... tree of the soapberry family... will try and remember!
we were shown some trees when we went on a trip
oh, pretty fruits!
they are :)
I think that one justifies my playing today. My new thing learned. Thanks :)
yw, glad i could help :) most of the words i learn on here every day are new to me :)
same for me, always something new to learn in Babble. Love it :)
i only wish i could remember them all!
I know I cannot remember them all at once, so I pick one or two that are new for me, and try to remember those. The rest will have to wait for another day, lol.
this one I will remember now. Promise :) I will remember how wrong I was, and how pretty the berries look, and that you can eat them.
lol. i can't remember what i'm doing at times, so i have no hope remembering these words.at times i can't remember words to speak, so it is "give us a clue" drives my hubby and daughter potty...but i can't help it! that's why i play this game, to help:)
i only know it because i've eaten it :)
see, no matter how you remember, you do! And I think this is a great game to help you train the brain. Works for me as well. I have trouble saying the words I am thinking. Like thinking 'rain' and saying 'umbrella' or something like that. Or sometimes not related at all. Very odd.
what drives me mad, is that i can see the word in my head, or a picture of the meaning but i can't say it!!
just like you :)
must be utterly frustrating! My family is kind enough to laugh at me when I say weird things, so at least I notice when I do it, lol.
mine sometimes laugh at me and other times they get annoyed!it drives me mad though as i use to have a brilliant memory but when my balance was destroyed, my memory got worse...don't know why?
the brain is a weird thing and they don't know much about how it works, no matter how much they think they know.I can relate to having a great memory... used to have one too! No idea why it goes when things get rough. Maybe the energy is needed elsewhere?
i know that the memory part of the brain is next to the balance part, so that could be why, but i don't know how it would have been affected? could be sprite.who knows?
well, not me, for sure :) The only thing I know, because my psychiatrist told me, is that the more the learn about the brain, the more they realise almost everything is reversable. The brain has an amazing talent for recuperating. So I keep hope :)
hope is a good thing to have sprite:)
it is :) Pretty essential, I think.
well my word to try and remember will be the sa7...new one for me
*looking*
apparently it's a plant from the parsley family and used in medicine
found it... new one for me too. Thanks :)
yw
morning all!
hi uusue!
hi sue
double U sue... it sounds so nice
hi sprite and lilli!
i love my cats, but when they bring me dead wild baby rabbits i'm not pleased, and my daughter won't get rid of them....
hadn't thought of that, sprite - my last name starts with W so it is especially apt :-)
ah, one of the advantages of indoor cats.
anyway, can't stay but will be back later!
argh, that is not pleasant. However well meant.
i sometimes wish mine were!bye sue, tc :)
bye sue!
fireflies! Very ni4 grid today. With a bite!
have to be off. Thanks for the great company. Have a good day/night all *hug*
good morning my friends
morning crosshair
hi crossy
Hi everyone
hi Katie
wtg sprite!!
sprite+lillian(if your still there) i can relate.chemo treatments do interesting things to the brain and thats why i do babble as well,to keep things sharp.i can stand there, look at a object like my briefcase, and have to go through an entire list to get it correct..suitcase,sample case etc and when under pressure or time constraints it gets worse
hi crossy,katie,sarah and annie :)
howdy annie:)
hi lilliann :)
i am not,and will never be the man i was before treatment, but i am here:)
know how you feel crossy.it can get very annoying!!
BUT you are here and babbling and with the world
that is the main thing crossy...we'd be lost without your tit bits every day:)
and stressful situations?? forget it!.and when i am planning my day, don,t you dare toss anything new in the mix mid schedule or it all comes off the rails
Good morning everyone!
that reminds me lillian....
howdy car!!~
hi car. :)
hi car
Good day to my Babble buddies.
it is now time for that amazing, wonderous ,staggeringly popular, much demanded crossy,s tidbit of the day!!!!!
Hi scrabs!
We have Thomas Jefferson to thank for mac’ n’ cheese: he brought home a macaroni-making machine in 1789 after serving as ambassador to France. Read the full text here: http://www.mentalfloss.com/amazingfact generator/?p=933#273#ixzz1vPudpVeE --brought to you by mental_floss!
Yeah tidbit!
Oh, I arrived JUST in time!
i'm terrible on the phone...if it'ssomeone i don't know within seconds of coming off the phone, i've forgotten their name, which company they are from and what they are selling....drives hubby potty :)
Scrabs...is your marathon weekend over yet?
i thought it was tidbit, but it didn't sound right :)
Not til 8 AM tomorrow. It started Fri 5 PM.
hi scrabs :)
I'm pulling for 'ya!
GOD BLESS THOMAS JEFFERSON!!!!!
lol
doing a big run scrabbs?
are you at work all weekend scrabs?
I do an on call weekend twice in every 13 week block.
On Saturday we see kids from 0830---til we're done. Much worse in the winter, of course.
well, i hope you don't get called upon too much :)
oh!! maraton work weekend..not running a marathon...i best get some tea...
we currently have all the citiots up here destroying themselves scwabby,so i am sure our docs have a heavy load going also
The answering service sends a text when parents call about their kids. We just decide who needs to go to the ER. For everyone else we say to call Monday when the office is open.
Destroying themselves with alcohol?
not only that,we have blue mtn and georgian bay,we are torontos northern playground, they come up here to drink,to bust their bones riding mtn bikes down the hill,to drown themselves swimming,to sink their boats..etc..etc...
to drive like maniacs...
Are you in Barrie?
close godhaab i am in collingwood
I see. Yep, some people take major risks in the name of fun. I mountain bike but I haven't gone over the handlebars in 2 yrs.
and wasaga is just up the road
NBT for me...off to teach Sunday School! Have a great day everone!
*everyone
Ah, yes.
Bye Car
you too car.bye,tc
i saw one mtn biker scrabby,he went over and landed so hard,he tore his entire elbow out,was dangling by a scrap of flesh..was gross and he was howling in emerg
I know someone who went over their handlebars and became a quadriplegic (sic).
it does indeed happen
OOOOWWWW. I do not do the reckless racing. Just a few times I have hit a hole or rock or mud and went flying. No major injuries fortunately. I am too old to be risky like some mtn biking can be.
Yikes, godthaab
ouch crossy!!
how sad godthaab
I guess the good news is that he went on to become a gold medal winner in the Paraolympics. But still....
they come upo to wasaga and do not read the signs and try to swim the nottawasaga river.it have a terrible undertow and 5-10 people a year used to be lost to it.it would suck thyem down mid rive and spit the bodies up at the mouth as it empties into the bay
well, as they say, as one dorr closes another opens
or dive off the bridges, not knowing it is 3 feet of water this year and break their necks...
we brace for another summer...
well, if they don't read the signs they have no-one else to blame!
everything is marked
Do you know what risk-takers are called by trauma ER staff?
unless they can't read obviously
stupid??
Organ donors
phone!
we had one itallian fella, got himself a small 12 foot boat, wated to do some fishing,no extra gas,no oars,no phone,nothing..well out he goes and has mechanical problems and the current carries him EIGHT miles out into the bay,he is not reported missing till 9 pm.the coast guard find him at sunrise bobbing out in the bay with a 3 foot chop going and tyhe boat sinking out from under him
Yikes.
jet skiiers, not watching and buzzing the swimming areas at full throttle and killing people by hitting them in the head at 60 mph
well enough summer horros
time to see how this grid is going to shape uyp
Those things happen here--boaters drift toward Niagara Falls and must be rescued.
Really easy grid
*making a note to find out where crossy is based and not visit as it sounds a very dangerous place*
glad to hear it br
Hi BR. Has the snow melted up there yet?
the place itself is not dangerous katie...it is the way people use it
Haha, Kitt. I want to visit Crossy--it is a place of beauty and I would love to bring my kayak there.
last of it went last week scrabby
it is amazing as scrabby knows,as long as you use common sense
Snow is long gone very mild winter no flooding
what is the weather like with you Scrabbler? we are at Niagara in two and a half weeks time
Mild winter for us too although we got 8 inches on April 23rd and lost power for 5 hrs overnight.
even where you live is dangerous katie if i act like a maniac
that's true crossy - though I felt the swimmers hadn't done much wrong, that was down to other peoples stupidity
We are having beautiful, sunny hot weather, Kitt, but we could get rain anytime.
scrabby, mrs and i were spelunking last week and found our very own ice cave!! was 75f-80 f outside and we wound out way through, with much of it open to the sky and then all these sheets of ice hanging off the walls and in the fissues..was pretty
we are only there for an an evening and then the next day until mid afternoon, just enough time to do maid in the mist and take loads of photos, we go on to Lake Erie for the night after that
that sounds fantastic crossy
it was katie
sounds beautiful crossy
you could feel the summer sun on your head through opening on roof of cave, but then all the cold radiatying from the ice sheets and fissures
So COOL, Crossy!
so i take it you are travelling around katie? how long are you going for?
Kitt, what day will you be in NF?
if you are as far as niagra katie, you should come up for a crossy breakfast
And are you doing a boat trip on the lake?
it will be 18 days in total. 1-4 June NY, 4/5 Niagara, 5/6 Lake Erie, then 6-10 Parkersburg WV, 11-14 Nashville, 15-18 Parkersburg. we are very excited.
Kitt, my mother's home is just 20 min from Niagara Falls.
yes scrabbler, we have even looked out our underwater camera for that very purpose :)
Wow I can't imagine living that close to a world famous natural attraction
Is the boat ride from Niagara Falls to Erie, Pennsylvania?
sounds lovely. i hope you have a great time...i'm sure you will :)
how lovely scrabs. i've always wanted to go there
No we are just doing the maid in the mist, we will then drive to the inn we have booked on the shore of Lake Erie - I'll just go look up which one/where it is
It is quite impressive. The force of water is amazing. I enjoy seeing the tourists there--they are so excited. And I hear so many languages!
Kitt, I live just 45 min from the eastern lakeshore.
i might get there one day. we want to hire a winniebago and travel around
Good plan, Lil.
it is scrabs, but whether it ever comes off who knows
It's the Lakehouse Inn and Winery at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio
OK, that is probably 2 hrs from me.
did you plan and book everything yourselves katie?
I have 2 dream trips: Italy/Sicily, and the UK.
Well, it is time for me to read the morning newspaper. I shall return. 122 words to go.
i've been to italy in a lorryand been to loads of factories and lorry parks...great food still though but not quite the same as a dream trip..lol
I would love to hire a winniebago :) Yes Lilliann. The main reason to go was to visit/meet the hubby's family in parkersburg. We added in NY as we have to change planes there and it means I get to spend my birthday in NY. Nashville came into play as I was quite ill with stress/depression last year and hubby wanted to cheer me up and I am a massive country music fan (very unusual in the UK) then Niagra and Lake Erie were just sensible places to visit lol
Scrabbs if you come to the UK you have a place to stay here!!
scrabs will have loads of place to stop :)
TY, Kitt. There are many Babblers I would want to meet in the UK.
won't she just! we are all so close in comparison to the states that we could just have one massive meet up
I am very drawn to the UK countryside--rolling hills, old homes, cottages, farms, gardens.
Oops, laptop is going to die. BBL.
bye scrabble tc
i also wish to go to the U.K i have not been back since we came over here to live in 66
much of my family relations are still there
sorry to hear about your illness katie.i like country music.it'll be nice for you and hubby to meet his family.
ye scrabs.tc
*bye
where crossy?
my brother went over for mums funeral in 91 but i have yet to go back
I'm much better now lilliann, you know how it is if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger, and it has certainly got me to prioritise my life much better. I now spend the miminum time I can at work and with those that I work with and the maximum time with my family, friends and Church.
my uncle and his family are in london,my recently passed grammy lived in cornwall
an i was bornb in watford
hello again
sounds like a good plan katie :)
hi ruby :)
((ruby))
{{lillian}}
I'm thinking where you are is a much better place to live crossy
(((crosy)))
Hi ruby
my ex fiance's mam was born in watford
i agree katie
how are you ruby? and your new addition to the family?
katie's plan sounds wonderful!
my mam and dad had to have their dog canni put down last weekend :(
I am OK but have just been through a scare with new puppy. He developed a "hot spot" and I was afraid it was because of what I was feeding him.
The vet came twice and I think he's on the mend. What a wonderful dog!!!!
"hot spot"?
indeed katie,i am greatful to be where i am at the base of blue mtn on the shores of georgian bay.i 5 minutes i can be boating, water skiing, hiking, rock climbing, spelunking,or just a nice stroll trough the woods,in winter i can ice fish, ski it is amazing
Oh that's such a shame lilliann
glad to hear it ruby
the vet said, in French, "He has what we call in France a "hot spot" m LOL
Yep crossy that definitely beats Watford
oh ok..lol
He bit off all the fur and made a big sore in the indentation where chows keep their curly tails
you're making me feel very jealous crossy
poor puppy:(
and husband needs crossy to come over here (on his trip to the UK) and kick DH's butt!!!!
uh oh,hubby being bad boy?
it was katie. he was only 4.apparently he was born without a vein from the liver which takes all the crap away and it was going to his brain.when he was on anti-biotics he was fine but when he wasn't it was just going to his brain. they said they could operate but there was no guarantee it would work and they didn't want to put him through major surgery for it not to work. he was a lovely little dog
I am getting sick of his snarling (not the puppy)
tell him we can type grumpy p.i.t.a on his headstone if thats how he wishes to be remembered,my f.i.l was same way
You know what Ruby? I would quit cooking for someone until they can be pleasant.
And serving him drinks.
{{hello molly}}
I do a minimum now, that's for sure
if my wife actually served me a drink,i think i would fall off my chair in shock!!!
i think alot of people get nasty and snarly when they get older
lol crossy
you spoil him too much ruby
I feel sorry for him but, at this point, I'm just staying away from him as much as possible
I know how they feel, our Ruby Judy cat was having real problems with her leg and I was worried about having to get her operated on when we didn't know if it was going to be successful. It wasn't the money it was putting her through it all and the rehab. We were so relieved when it came back as arthritis which can be managed with drugs. She won't live to a very old age but she isn't in pain and didn't have to have the op so it was good news.
You know what Ruby? I feel sorry for you. Someone as nice and sweet as you are, should be appreciated.
yes, when he expects things that you do for him and does not appreciate the things you do for him,it is best to let him fend for himself a bit
thank you, molly, that is a nice thing to say
unfortunately, if he was younger, I could do more
I just can't imagine not dumping the food in his lap
but he's old and winding down and, therefore, depressed
i'm glad to hear it katie
when the vet came, she looked over my beloved Ruby and thought she looked great
that was a relief because she, too, is getting old
but that doesn't give him the excuse to take it out on you when you do so much for him ruby
and she thought Rufie was magnificent (her word)
there's nothing I can do about it
"magnifique"
I cried for days around all the tests as I really thought I was going to have to put her down and it would have been too much to bear, at least now we can appreciate our time with her even if it is a little shortened.
No excuse at all. He has a lot to be grateful for. A loving wife, a beautiful home.
i do not think i can ever wind down, too many books await and as long as i can hobble to the bathroom under my own steam and turn the pages of a book,i am all set
<-- not so loving anymore
awww, that's good ruby
I love it here and just try to keep my own peace
and it is finally real spring! flowers everywhere
seen you pic ruby.you are pocket sized, can toss you over my shoulder and carry you anywhere:))
atleast you have time with her katie which is great.we love our pets so much and they become part of the family so it is very hard when we lose them.
katie, it is wonderful that the arthritis can be managed.
losing an animal is terribly painful
every time Rufie drinks from the fishpond, my heart is in my mouth
the sad thing is it took years for my mam to talk my dad into getting another dog and he won't let her have another one now.canni (rascal in french) was suppose to be my mam'sdog, but he ended up being my dad's and it's hit him really hard
hi ruby, glad to learn Rufie is on the mend
but I never told husband what really happened to Max; there was no point in "sharing" that information
{{annie}}
no ruby, that he does not need to know
ruby, is it possible that Burt is starting to suffer from dementia and that accounts for his nastiness
he is depressed enough without feeling in any way responsible
at 86, who isn't??? lol
very good point annie,he should have some testing done as well as a general physical
good point
there's no point
he has a regular GP who sees him fairly often, has blood tests and sees his cardiologist. As for his mental state, there is no way he would allow himself to be evaluated
No point in what? Testing and a physical?
How about depression medication?
I would have to put it in his food and am afraid of its interaction with all the stuff he takes for his heart
I think I just have to hang on and try to take care of him.
and do my own stuff
i'm sure the doctor could give him something that wouldn't interact with his other drugs
as with so many older people, the doctors don't necessarily get together on the meds. And, when he sees his GP, he always acts much better
and you could always tell him it's a vitamin that the doctor says he needs
maybe zoloft?
then as you say all you can do is have as much space from him as you can..otherwise you'll need anti-depressants
we are lucky nhere with that ruby..we use a single pharmacy and all meds are accounted for and any potential reaction with any new meds are noted before they are issued to the patient
Ask your doctor. I think there are depression meds specific for older people with depression.
that's a good idea, molly. I will call him tomorrow and see what he says
pharmacy's in france are good too ruby. you could ask a pharmacist if there is something he could have to go with his other medication
as molly says,my grammy has problems with this in her early 80,s but with sucessful diagnosis and meds she went on to enjoy live and lived to 100!!
and the pharmacist certainly knows everything he's taking
you could have a word with him and see if there is something he could have over the counter if not he could tell you what he could have and then get a prescription from your gp
and, meanwhile, with all you sweet people buoying me up, I've gotten nbt, nbs and more than half. Smiling now!!!
good morning
Hi Via
hello viajes
Via's Fake Made-Up Not-in-the-Grid Word of the Day is... di7: a very small male unit
hi viajes
yay for ruby:)
hmmm, putting monkeys to work looking for via's made-up word
Dicklet! I love it.
you won't find it, it's not in the grid
got it, lol
It's a made up word Ruby, it doesn't count.
:) I thought you would like this one, Molly
I'm sure I tried that in the grid earlier lol
well with Enable you never know Katie... it could turn out to be some sort of knitting stitch, or a foreign word for a hat
Or the currency of Outer Ubangistan
Oh yes. I think it would be a great name for a currency! The big money could be called dicks and the little money could be called dicklets. "That'll be six dicks and fourteen dicklets."
no,thats a niggi molly or a pu which is a triangular coin made of rubber that is 3 miles across:)
: D : D
oops, PB for me
crossy loves douglas adams;))
it will be as worthless as euros!
lol viajes :)
who is douglas adams?
the problem was the exchange rate of 3 pus to a niggi,so they never caught on:))
which book is that crossy? been so long since I read them...
The currency thing is open to so many possibilities. "Hey, I'm a little short this week, Can you lend me a dick?"
I just re-read the first Dirk Gently book
douglas adam books hitchhikers guide to the galaxy ruby..well worth the read if you love monty python style dry british humour
ty crossy
hahah Molly
"It's unpleasantly like being drunk." "What's so unpleasant about being drunk?" "Ask a glass of water."
Molly and I are both in the PB because of dicks. I hope there are mimosas.
i have never read dirk gently viajes? iss it as good as the resat of his stuff?
No.
that's as good a reason to be in the PB as any
You can have a mimosa Via. I never ruin good champagne with orange juice.
I think Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul is better, because none of the good parts I remembered from the series were in the first book. I'm going to re-read that next.
that's why I use cheap champagne Molly
what was the title of his book they got off his hard rive after he passed viajes?
drive*
I don't remember... I bet google knows
I need coffee and breakfast. I didn't mean to come in here; it's just the screen that was looking at me when I opened my computer, so I had no choice.
enjoy yur breakfast, via,; we were the sirens beckoning.....
right now i am thoroughly enjoying the 4 book series the final tales of thomas covenant by stepehn r donaldson
next time I will have to tie myself to a post, ruby
i waited 20 years for this series lol
I am reading Grapes of wrath... a little different from Douglas Adams.
brb,brunch is almost ready
coffee beckons... *poof*
bye everybody. Thanks for the good cheer and good advice
bye viajes
bye ruby, tc hin :)
*poof*
fireworks!!
off to rest my foot.bye and tc to anyone left(poof)
aww man, are you guys still here?
Someone is always here.
I have retroactively decided that I was referring to the letters in the grid
since most of the chog since I left was people saying they were leaving
;)
maybe the big currency will be called cocks, and the coins will be dicklets. That way we don't have to go to the PB
Hey, almost anything goes in Enable.
muggers would have to say " GIve me some Groin"
not ascete, Molly
that's a word, isn't it?
love it ruru :)
Hence the word "almost". I have learned how nit-pickety people can be here. : P
does nit-pickety have a hyphen?
:)
that'd be the end of In God we Trust too
the God could be Pan
And who's picture would be on the bill?
DIck Cheney
lol
he's the biggest one I know
but no one would want their picture on the coins...
Pee Wee Herman would
awww... poor Mr. Reubens
they don't call him Pee Wee for nothing
maybe just a picture of a little baby
I can't find anymore words ugh
are you getting many offers on your logo?
icon I mean, ruru
no.. but a lot of interest though
I'll pay five dicklets for you to put a picture of Cheney
LOL
I never knew there were that many sk words
well, now you've been skooled
Hi babblers!
Ru is too kool for skool
hi jilly
Hey ruru!
Hi Jilly
Hi Molly
welcome
we're discussing penis currency jilly
viajes has a wad
LOL...there's the ruru we love!
Imagine the poker games. "I'll see your di4 and raise you three dicklets."
maybe we won't have a picture on the coin at all -- they'll just be dicklet-shaped
And the vending machings PLEASE INSERT YOUR DI4 IN THE SLOT
lol, literally
Grow up! Viajes, get the to the penalty box.
I leave you people alone for a day and look what happens.
Sure gave me a lot of hints for words....
it would be easier to pay the IRS in pricks
although I'd be afraid of any deductions
wonder why nick, nicks and nickel are not acceptable words?
they are.
they are jdd..how's the PB
there are mimosas!
oh.. I'd say a word for a mimosa right now
that sounds good
Molly doesn't approve of mimosas
no?
she doesn't think champagne should be corrupted
with fresh juice they're tasty
anything american (bubbly) (other than Roederer) needs OJ
real Champagne.. I wouldn't make a mimosa from
I use cheap not-champagne
so I"m in Molly's camp there
well cheap will give you headaches.. because hard alcohol is added
oh... that makes sense.
not to suggest that the worst hangover I ever had was from mimosas
most of the sk5s are just different spellings of the same word!
if I enter idiot one more time.......sheesh...what a phantom..
ty viaje
indeed, jill
gn kje
gm that is
i wondered.... but wasn't sure what you were up to
you really never know with me
kje: Today's San Francisco Chronicle is full of wonderful images of the Golden Gate Bridge; you could check them out online
ruru's been in other time zones trading di5 on the black market
will do erda
okay, coffee is gone, time for shower. I will leave ruru to explain about our new currency.
*poof*
very disturbed by rurur trafficking di5s
not really trafficking
just trying to stimulate the economy
:D
<---heading to list.. I can't find any others
you like the Berkeley area erda?
When the economy tanks, will it be because of the deflation of the di4?
LOL
think of what the grids in the stock market will look like
Last sa7 please
On Wall Street today, the Ubangistan di4 rose three inches...I mean points.
*giggle*
Last sa7 starts like Claus and ends like frozen treat that starts with pop
they'd have to change the name of several national parks.... viagra falls...etc
teehee....
Late answer: Yes, I do like it, ruru. Other than the earthquakes, it would be hard to improve upon...
I have a friend who lives there.. the streets are so narrow.. that's kind of cool in some ways
really sort of Berkeley hills for him..
I need two more words to list
Streets are narrow?? Been to Italy lately?
We were stationed outside SF in the 80's. We loved all the things one could do in the Bay ARea...
never been to Italy
it's limitless jilly
seriously ru?
kje is going to have a blast
Molly Thx
I am indeed
so many great things to do..
but ru - you must go to italy - I love France, but Italy has a much better food and wine culture
I loved France.. I could live there
just plop me in Volnay or Cassis.. and I'll just stay forever
me too.... but seriously, the food was much more cnsistently good in Italy... even in some cheap backwater town where you pay 5 euros for a plate and another 5 for a bottle of wine - ridiculusly good (except venice)
that's probably true.. the food in france wasn't great except for one stop or two in the Rhone
it struck me while there that there was less correlation between what you pay and quality in Italy - you could pay nothing and still have an awesome food wine experiene... France, really does matter what you spend
one hour in, still no nbt and only 81 words...*sigh*...time for a break bbl
I think that is right on the money kje
even when we ate at the mall, the food was amazing - I decided that Italians just refuse to eat bad food
I can see why they think americans are nuts
just got back from SF, ru - flew in one evening, all day conf the next, then flew out the following morning - very tiring
uh.. that's tough.. SFO is an exhausting airport
why didn't you stay a second night?
I am on wards, had to get coverage, had to get back
oh.. where'd ja eat?
fresca in noe valley
it was ok
hmmm
hello all...kje i will wave to you on my way through dfw tomorrow afternoon
Chez Panisse...
you should have gone to Delfina in the mission
I will wave back, TO

Hi Ruby
lot's of bright young people at UCSF
hello ruby. How's the pupster?
... hey ruby
I absolutely agree with you about Italy/France food. In France, at least here, if it isn't expensive, it's awful
hi ruby
UCSF is where my son got his degree from
{{bichon}} at lunch today, there were 4 dogs in the restaurant: "my" malinois, a lovely, but nervous, whippet, the baby coton AND tada a beautiful, fluffy bichon!!!!
puppy has a "hot spot" but it's being treated
Really? They let dogs in the restaurant?
wow! lunch with a Bichon. What did it eat?
Rufie is so good-natured that while the vet was treating him, even though it hurt, he kept wagging his tail
totally cool in France Molly
dogs in restaurants is not unusual in europe, especially france.... their dogs are much better behaved
Wow, that's amazing.
yes, they are wonderful about dogs
does he have to wear an e-collar?
it was amazing to see their interaction
it was a possibility, but I couldn't subject him to that. It is getting better
I can't imagine my at a restaurant. They'd be climbing on the table
"Better behaved". What a nice concept for dogs. I wish I could say that about my neighbor's dogs.
the bichon was much cuter and prettier than the coton
we even took Ruby to that restaurant when she was grieving for Max and she was an angel
one of mine got loose from his lead yesterday and attacked a boxer. I was mortified
Bichons usually are <gg>
what did the boxer do?
The boxer was terrified. But, I quickly intervened. It was being walked by a young girl and I think she was panicking
Rufie has started standing on Ruby and he's almost as big -- at only 5 months
punched him
with gloves, I hope
this grid just got very slow
I've given up with 89 left, just here to say hello
I can't get the sa7 clue, still looking though
ditto ruby

I love it!!! Hugs to you!
im sitting in the car being driven along the motor way...laptop tethered to my phone...isnt technology wonderful
It seems appropriate for this grid that in6/18 is included...definitely going there....
Hi Dee!
We love our Dee. She has bailed us out so many times with a list, when we were listless.
lol jili
wow rolin... lap of luxury how cool!
aww sweet, Molly... always was a community effort, I just learned from ARB how to put it in my profile.
always have believed that babble is a community effort :)
I agree Dee, it is a community effort. Nicely put.
Once in a great while, I can finish a grid on my own, but I usually have at leasy a pesky 30 or so that I need input from others.
oops least
Dart always amazed me... he does most listless... very impressive feat in my eyes :)
AS always, us Babblers read well through typos...
LOL isn't that the truth
I bow to Dart. I don't know how he does it.
my keyboard has been acting goofy, not sure if it is my typing or the keyboard is about to go out. Very bright man; that's for sure; also very generous with help - great combination.
Smart and helpful = a great combination. : )
can i have a clue for ic5 12 plz :)

It's raining clues....hallelujah.

Well hugs to all; great to see you Molly!
Nice to see you in the daylight, Dee. : )
Thanks, you'll probably see me more this summer... we moved and this house doesn't have stairs - I've been able to do more :) Great blessing!

si 6 - calcareous matter deposited by springs, as that formed around the vent of a geyser.
s + in 5/10 (to put in the ground)
s + not outer
Thanks ruru..especially for after last clue...
Taking a break...bbl have fun all!
Oh my God, Teach's definition for si6 just blew one of my brain cells.

back to finish....(((crossy)))
((jilly))
By the way, none of these words are in my vocabulary, nor do I know what they mean. Finding them has been the result of random typing, followed by "Oh shit, THAT is a word? "
lol i am down to needing 9 but finding it very hard now to find them lol
jilly, any little nurse secrets to get half a toothpick out of the bottom of my foot? it is quite painfull and there is nothing to grab:(
i do that too molly!
ca6 21 clue plz
cut a slit over it so you can get an instrument in to grab it.
Soak it for awhile Crossy....may open it up. If that doesn't work...it'll have to be incised out.
Ah...the vet is on!! HI Jes!
thought so,and i do not bend like that jes lol
And then the nurse mother reminds you to not go bare foot!!
cross, are you a diabetic?
hmm. well, i'd suggest you have mrs crossy do it...but would her eyesight allow it?
and the only numbing agent i have is vodka unless you want to come over with your bag of tricks jes
no her eyes will not allow it
oh my gosh, Crosshair...making me feel a little faint, haha!
half way
no kje,i am not
hehe. numbing? hahahahaha. bite a leather strap? :D
ca6/21=ca+snake letter+harry houd***
actually, you can often get "sun burn remedy" or such that have lidocaine in them.
then have your son take it out - he will enjoy it
lol, come here jes,let me cut a trench in your foot with a scalpel and go digging sans numbing agent
lol
That you can get
OK...let's try soaking it first...nice soapy water...
good idea jilly
ty x
hehehehe. you may underestimate my masochism, crossy :D
Then Jes and I will electronically remove it for you!! LOL
hehe
Sounds like something for Bizarre ER
yvw sarah6...
when you hit bone stop right jes?
though if you end up with a trench, you've done it a bit wrong...shouldn't need a big cut
He might underestimate mine as well Jes...just ask my sons!!
if the damn thing were not so awkward...
hah! yes, crossy, stop if you hit bone!
though i think by that point, perhaps you should consider enlisting the help of a local dr. office?
if i could see it better,id get hammered and go digging with a needle
OK...have only one and cannot monkey it...the sk6/30...last one
I wouldn't recommend soaking - the wood will soften and you increase teh risk of it shredding as you pull it out and leaving some in. Have someone help you and slowly lift the skin away from the area until a corner can be seen to extract it
can anyone help with ni5/12 or na7/32 please?
pl of sk 5/18 jilly
LOL, don't know kje, I have seen whole toothpicks survive the digestive tract
Hmmm. thought I'd done that...
Oh boy, Jilly!
Evidently not...fireworks...ty crossy
oh, toothpicks in the digestive tract are not good... have seen that kill a dog. :(
yaa for jilly!!!

We have seen it several times in colonoscopies...thankfully no perfing
my brother just lots a new dog jess, was a bull mastiff pup,it had eaten some stones, they operated, got 4 stones.2 days later it was throwing up all food and water, seems there were 3 other small stones missed during the first operation and now post-op swelling had them lodged in there, they gave him iv,s anti inflamatories,he did not survive
lost
oh, that's so sad! poor thing
That's awful...so very sad to lose a pet..
crappy. did they not do rads first to count rocks?
na7?
aw poor puppy!
it is indeed 5400 dollars in and they could not save him
i do not know how they missed the small rocks the first time
na+a smell
ty

ty
thankfully, i haven't done that... certainly a good reminder to palpate the whole stomach when you go after a foreign body.
sad the pup had to suffer to remind them of that :(
indeed, some procedure not done right there
and so no one pulls their hair out, lickety's list failed to take di6/33...have it listed as di5/22...lol both lists have errors
and he had pnenomia(sP) before that as a result of kennel cough
That would'nt help his survival chances either
seems he was a carrier long before he came down with it himself
hmm. that's pretty rare. usually kennel cough just runs through in a couple weeks and they get over it.
he was quite ill
then just as he was getting better,he gobbles those stones
not even 2 month home from the breeders
suggest a rescue next time... they're more durable?
ha6?
possess + allow
(the breeder refunded half the 2500 dollar fee for purchacing the dog she felt so bad..yes jes,i told my brother to get a rescue dog
we pick up a new rescue cat at the end of this month:))
ty
that was very nice of the breeder! A lot of them would have just said "wasn't genetic, not my responsibility"
she felt so bad for the kids
our shelter is a no-kill shelter and my son works there,so we foster kitties from time to time:)
That's why we only do rescue pets...too many sad tales with breeders...
till they find a forever home
indeed jilly
I've thought about fostering a pup, but am too afraid I'd get attached
we have 3 kittens as two of my cats had kittens i did not want to keep any but girls wanted them lol
Good for you Crossy..and the missus

next week my two getting done then kittens when 4 mths only 8 weeks at min
Good for you sarah!
do not want any more kittens as girls always want to keep some bless them
i got 2 litters of kittens, 5 are 6 weeks today and 2 that are about 2 1/2 weeks. i am keeping 2

Open bar, pay on your honor. All proceeds go to the "Update The Enable Word List" fund.
good idea, Molls
indeed, I will make donations.
can I pay in di5?
Rs are Raptured (they floated up to the sky)
Absolutely. All foreign Enable approved currency (and made up currency) is accepted.
how much do we need to raise for the update?
also, what will we talk about once the update happens and we can't complain anymore?
As soon as I find out which rock the author is living under, I will let you know.
We can still complain about all the words in these grids that are stupid, obscure and that no one would ever use in everyday conversation. (80% of them)
mom's plane landed early -- gotta go to airport now... bbl
but good; I'm glad there can still be complaining :)

Peri, I meant to tell you earlier that the shore is 3 hours from me and that is just to long of a drive for me for a day trip. I too, wish I had a place at the beach.
I know what you mean, Molly
Although I would probably never come home.
tough grid today
Hi Science.
I don't go as often as I would like. The bridge toll went up to $5 last year
thought of getting an EZ pass but not sure if I would use it much
one of my dreams is to live by/near the sea
Molls, are you in Del or MD?
Well then, I will hope that dream comes true for you.
Maryland.
another dream is to drive cross country and visit family, friends and babblers along the way.
But when I go to the beach, I go to the Delaware shore. Much nicer.
would love another babble meetup but wish someone else would set one up
I was in Rehobeth many, many years ago at the beach
a babble meet? what is that?
Did you go to one before?
when babblers get together
I set up the one in Phila, Molls
I must have missed that. Who went?
where do they happen and what do you do?
they do not happen often and it is usualy for lunch or drinks
or both
me, marigold, hego and her hubs, nrkii, dcscain, jmc, pam. I picked a nice Italian restaurant in center city, on the corner, easy to get to and with free parking. which is unheard of in center city
think it was in 2009, I had just moved in with marigold
Sounds like a nice place. Good choice.
I was pleased with the place and the people who showed up
wish I had my own place, even an apartment

Just watched a live stream of the eclipse from Mt. Fuji. It was pretty cloudy but still impressive.
it was sunny earlier and now we're covered by clouds and thunderstorm on the way. which sucks because colorado springs is one of the best places to see the eclipse according to weather.com :(
Pouring rain here, and it will be only partial at sunset anyway, oh well. Next live stream from, I think, California in about an hour and 20 minutes at events.slooh.com
620 or 640 my time. cant remember lol. im in a lot of pain so i dont care anymore :(
mmm we are not able to view the eclipse from down here - sad

ah i tried every vowel except that one lol
Ah, that is good, cos, although it must be scary.
Hope he can get through that relatively easily
he spent the night at his mom's... rehab tomorrow.
i spend all night last night getting the apartment "dry"
That is very brave of him. Good luck to you both.
will pass the word on. im just relieved for now. lets hope things go well.

Cosdem - so sorry to intrude, but my mum finally got sober last year - wishing the two of you all the best
oh yes thats right molly i forgot you know what it feels like
ty andrew :)
molly will send u an email today or tomorrow when i feel better
Take care of yourself Cos. This has a big effect on you too.
trying to find al-anon .. thats the group for familes and friends right?
Yep, you should be able to look them up in your area on the computer. Try several groups. Not every meeting is the right fit for each person.
i think im gonna try the one at the gay and lesbian center first
That is a good idea. The more you have in common with the group, the better.
ok.. then ill try that. will stop by the offce tomorow to get info.
its near the walk in clinic so two birds one stone
How is Ryan's Mom coping?
pretty good. being super supportive.
she bought us protein shake mixes and vitamins because she read last night it was supposed to help with alcoholism.
That's good. It helps if you two have each other to lean on.
Nice grid - pity I am not able to finish it without a list. See you all later. Good luck with Ryan Cos, and hope your pain is nothing too serious. xx
truth be told i was close to leaving him. but now im more than happy to help him through this. told him we can work on it together.
thanks lynx
Maybe it was just time for him to hit bottom. And hey, there is nowhere but up from there.
jumped in late on the comments, good luck cosdem
exactly what I said. im glad he bottomed out (if he did) while i was around!
It's hard to feel loved by someone who puts their drinking before every significant relationship in their life. No matter what they say.
its funny because i said to him "its obvious to me ur puttng the drink before me and thats not fair to me. im prob have to leave" and a hour later he broke down and showed me his diary full of his fears of dying young and wanting to stop drinking so bad. hes been holding it in for months
so my threat was what he needed.
((hugs)) and prayers for you Cos...just read through chog.....
tyvm :) much appreciated and welcomed.
last ni5 please?
I think it's good that he is honestly dealing with his problem. A lot of alcoholics don't believe that alcoholism will kill them. It does.
