hi ruby, just wandered in, rough day? (((hugs)))
Hi Ruby - what's with the troglodyte wish?
maybe she's already closed up the cave, lol! :\
we can bet the trouble starts with B
well, pooh, only need the lowest R for nbt - any rh words?
rh6 and rh7
nm, went to look at Lickety...
oh, thanks, see, no patience, lol
It's a rare commodity around here sometimes : )
*Sends up a flare for Ruby*
allo allo mes enfants... Hello Babble friends :) Wazzup, ruby?
allo, ma petite sprite! :-)
ruby has problems with B, i think....me, well this PC is about to learn how to swim.
* 547893012=23489547834676712* thing is running crazy.
practising my french, grin. Aw, poor ruby. Well, in a little over a week B will have somebody else to sharpen his teeth on :)
*hugs une and rose and ruby*
are you heading to Rubyville??
poor rose! Tell the stupid thing to behave... NOW!
yes Une, on the 19th.
oohhh, what fun!!
looking forward to it! The tickets for the trains arrived yesterday, that makes it so real :D
yes she is, une, lucky person she is,,,but the first hug for ruby is from me, right, sprite?
ok rose :) And all the others are from myself, grinnnn. Oh I really wish you could be there too.
can't wait for the spritey/ruby pix and vacay blog!
I promise I will bring my camera. Pics on Flickr once I get back home :D
excellent!! :-)
100 words and taking a break *poof*
see you later maybe :)
darn, Terra is a phantom today. he doesn't know that himself though.
gm
good morning kje!
finally, fireworks...despite this STUPID PC. and yes sprite, i wish i could be there also. never mind, when we come over, i promise to send you the tickets to come on over....what a babble meet that will be.
would LOVE to see you. In spirit you will be with us! And wtg on the fireworks.
woohoo granny!!!
thanx dear one. and ruby, wherever you are, hugs, kisses and love coming your way
oh, spritey? it's 2 weeks on monday.
counting down, hun. It is gonna be ok. *hugs*
good point? my little bro' ( well not so little) is in my hospital at the mo'. he explained that all the ISP addresses are being taken up by the construction workers....sooo i either login really early, or wait until really late before i try to login via the hospital wifi. either way, i will still be able to babble etc.
oh that is great! That will give you some distraction. And us the change to cuddle and hug you :)
elective surgery, granny?
you could cal it that, kje. my right knee is minus any form of cartilege. i need a total knee replacement. try explaining that to workcover....they just don't want to hear.
what is workcover?
after the rehab, you'll be glad you did it... knee replacements can change your life
* grin * spritey....will probably need lots of hugs the first few days. but you know me. plan on being up and walking day 1
that's the spirit granny!
you should. I heard the people doing best with knee replacements are the ones who start walking right away. We will cheer you on ;)
workcover is an instituttion whoch covers workers costs if they are injured whilst at work. ie, surgery, hospitilisation, physio etc
and you wore down your knee at work... so they should pay up?
and i found out something incredible. the shapematch prosthesis from sryker( company who makes prostheis) will also provide a new cover for my own patella, so i will have all the components as in my original knee
oh rose that is amazing!
spritey, extremely hard to prove, given my age. * sigh* there is also the aspect of my favouring my LE4 ankle af5 surgery, by putting more strain on my right knee. the insurance people don't want to hear it.
so unfair. But common. They don't like to part with their money.
i could go to court, i guess....but the whole thing seems very daunting
do you have to prove it was due to work to get insurance to pay? joint replacements are pretty common here under insurance and/or medicare
going to court is so very expensive, both in money and in energy. And if you feel you cannot really proof your case... I can believe it is daunting.
prove*
we do have lawyers he4 who say no payout, no cost....*shrug* maybe later down the track.
yeah, when you can spare the energy. Put yourself first. As kje says, you will be so glad you did all this when you can walk without pain.
or even with less pain, it would be an improvement
fireflies. What a fun grid!
I think there would be very few jobs one could prove OA was due to their job... maybe professional sports... but otherwise, would seem almost impossible
wooohooo sprite!!!
kje, we are speaking about a separate insurance to private health insurance...which fortunately we do have. and as the technique is so new, stryker are picking up the bill for the prosthesis.
lower center lone e?
WTG SPRITE!!!!!
can't you ask someone el4?
don't you do that oe el4 i willtell you off
damn
I hate those fish slaps
lolllll
stinky
*or*
*hits kje over the head with a tiny guppy*
kje, we only use the freshest of fish, don't we, sprite?
always. I catch it the moment you act fishslapworthy.
fishslapworthy - love it
there is this aquarium next to me that is called the Babble Bowl...
my dears, starting to fade, have been awake since 3am and it is now af5 8:30pm. love, hugs, kisses, see you at the flip
I hope you sleep well, rose. *hugs*
we were talking about "tethers" the other day with my trainess, and getting rid of them (lines, catheters, telemetry, etc - things that tie people down and prevent them from ambulating)
sounds good. I remember walking with my drip on a tripod on wheels.
and later the resident would tell people to stop accesorizing the patient - cracked me up
lollllll cool!
"my patient came highly accesorized from the ED"
must be off, bye kje *hugs* And bye all 'lurkers'.
I told her I was stealing it
it could become a fashion ;)
hagd sprite!
kje, me in 2 weeks time...have to have 48 hours monitoring for unstable angina p[ost-op. this could be very interesting
later, dear sprite
most important thing in the hospital... MOVE... and don't let them give you stupid meds
good side, i get to pick my surgeon, his assistant, anaesthetist and the scrub team i want. just waitgle* seeing aster to pick my PACU nurse. * giggle* seeing as i won't be there. (well not in my usual role)
nice, granny
*waiting to see roster*
really have to say goodnight from me. kje, have a good one!
best, granny!
fireworks xx
yay sarah!
nice grid today :)
so far.. down to 20 and slowing!
hello
hi ruby!
as usual, I'm here at an odd time
((Ruby)) Having a tough morning?
got 35 words (!!) before lunch
go ruby!
it is horrible, waiting for deliveries/pickups when they say "between 9AM and 7PM
finally said, sc*** it, and went out to lunch
indeed, ruby
both yesterday and today
and it is raining again.
OK, I'm finished with my perpetual whine. How is everybody?
What are you waiting for?
raining men?
hallelujah!
yesterday, it was ppicking up husband's ship's clock for repair in the US which will cost more than original price
stuck
Today, I am waiting for the "cistern" our of which I will make a mosaic garden bench
out*
I am worn out
Oh, a mosaic garden bench sounds really pretty.
naptime?
I've been saving pieces of broken blue and white chine and pottery for more than 15 years. Thinking of 'Gaudiesque" bench
it will be in the bottom garden, unseen by anyone but me, but it's a dream project
china*
post pics when done, ruby
and would be much better than having to sit on the ground
I hope you can wait a year or so, kje, I'm not sure where I'll start LOL
It sounds like it's going to be lovely, Ruby. I love to hear about people pursuing a dream project.
maybe I can see it in person in a year
I've been thinking about this, if you can believe it, since 1967!!!
and, by then, you'll be able to sit on it!
Just goes to show that if you keep thinking about and believing in a dream, it comes true. It's the Law Of Attraction.
nice idea, molly
but then, on the other hand, "be careful what you wish for (dream of)"
FW!
yay, kje!!!!
fun grid
mostly normal words
any clues needed before I go?
ups guy, AGAIN, trying to get paperwork sorted out
this was still about husband's ship's clock!!!!
*Hands Ruby a soothing cup of chamomile tea*
ty, molly, needed that
<-- somewhat stressed
clue for the 2nd r in fourth column?
hello ibd

re4 well, ruby
Howdy ladles and jellyspoons.
lost my connection, sorry
How's the board today?
couldn't access, the site, jayk, but thank you for trying
my idea is a bench with mosaics like in Gaudi's Parca Guell but only in blue and white
hi sldwarf, grid's not too bad.
Thanks lb, glad to hear it
that's what it looked like!
15 left and must get ready for work. see ya'll later! hagd
good morning babblers
ruby, are you still here?
I guess I missed her (sigh)
Hey Annie
Hi Molly, the grid looks friendly
good morning everyone
(((Mom))) good morning
Morning Mom
(((Annie and Molly))) good morning
we are Annie sitting this weekend so the kids can go camping. I can't wait
Mom, you are so good to your granddoggie. : )
so you are having Annie this weekend..Ziggy and Annie are friends?
I don't get to see her as much since Shay took a job in Cincinnati so I treasure the time with her
friends, eh? but they do stay in the same room now. Ziggy doesn't take to the basement any more
that's a step forward
I'll tell him in the morning that she is coming for the weekend.
Last time I told him she was coming he went to the front door and waited for her
Good day to all.
lol
Scrabbs, Hi..I love the book
good morning Scrabbler
Me too, Annie. I have 35 pages to go and I am expecting a twist.
uhoh
Annie, as a New York City native it must be very interesting for you.
what are the two of you reading?
"The Murder of the Century" by Paul Collins--historical fiction based on true murder in NYC in 1897.
sounds interesting
scrabbs, I am familiar with 11th Street..My parents lived on Avenue D when I was born so it is fun to read
Many themes--crime, forensics, NYPD, immigrants, NYC, and newspaper competition
It is hard to imagine the boroughs as farmland.
I have written the title down to see if our library carries it, it not I am sure Cincinnati does
I am going to Pennsylvania tomorrow for 5 days of hiking and kayaking!
I didnt know that Pulitzer and Hearst were such fierce competitors. Yes, I remember my father in law telling me that the Bronx was farmlands when he was a boy. That would be in the early 1900's.
that sounds like a great time, Scrabbler. Be careful and have fun
Scrabbs, have a great 5 days.
We will be at Pine Creek Gorge--the "Grand Canyon" of the east. After hiking down into the real Grand Canyon a year ago I suspect this will seem tiny.
as Mom said, be careful, scrabbs
Are you camping out also?
I just checked, we have the book, all copies are checked out. I will request a copy
Yes, my mother told me the same thing and "I cannot wait til you are back."
We are staying at a bed & breakfast that is a sheep farm up on a mountain!
That sounds wonderful!!
it does indeed
Corriedale sheep. I can't wait to meet the herd.
Can I come?? I will stay at the B &B and read. You can hike and kayak. I will tend the sheep.
our craft group would be jealous. A sheep farm.... they would love that
just reading what I posted made me laugh.
Mom, doesnt it sound wonderful?
<---- imagines Annie tending the sheep
Sure, join us!
Just call me Bo.
Well, Miss Peep, I will take pics for you to see.
oh it does. We have wool festivals here where people come to sell their shearings (sp) it gets a huge draw
Scrabbs, looking forward to seeing the pictures.
I have a lot of work today to get the bunnies ready and me. A high school senior up the street will take care of my babies. I ma having bad separation anxiety already.
they are like your children. It is hard to leave thelm
them*
the bunnies will be fine.
I know their behaviors so I know if they are doing ok.
Has the senior taken care of the bunnies before?
I had better scoot and start my day. (((Hugs))) to all of you
Annie, sweetie goes back to work today. :-(
That is very good news, Mom. I bet he is delighted.
in a way, yes. But I think he would rather stay home. But retirement isn't too far away. Hopefully in 5 years
Something to look forward to, Mom
it is for sure
talk to you soon. Have a great day
you too, (((Mom)))
will do. THanks
Sorry, I was on the phone with one of my vacation buddies.
Yes, Hannah has taken care of my bunnies before and she is reliable.
Then you have nothing to worry about. I am sure you call every day. Go and enjoy!
I will call her daily.
My friend and I just decided to skip lunch and hiking today so we can focus on trip prep today.
Annie, I want to finish the book today so I can start a new one tomorrow on our trip.
scrabbs, have a great great time.
hello all
The weather is supposed to be good, although some chances of rain.
Hi Owl :) :)
Hi Owl!
good morning all
hello hello hello
hello x 4 hurshy
hi teach
we have a copier technician who has had to work on our copier 3 days in a row. he has very strong cologne or aftershave or something.
hey scrabs!
then he leaves his scent wherever he goes...ugh
hey annie
hey hurshy
hey teach
luckily it's not a bad smelling one.
morning folks and how many words today and thanks
144 steve
12 squared!
tanks annie and hurs
and to think it could be the old days and he smelled of mimeograph
ah, mimeograph
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Hi Hurshy. Yuck--that would make me ill. Hi Steve.
I was wondering what a mimeograph smelled like - and then I remembered. Hello everyone
i don't even remember what it smelled like
hi lynxxxie
hi scrabb
Hi lynxxx. Wasn't it an isopropyl alcohol smell?
just a baby Hursh
alsothe smell of ditto machines
hi lyn!
you mean those jell thingies?
well i remember seeing them in school... prob through high school... i just don't recall the smell.
hi Towl - nice to see you alive and kicking!
nice to see you. if i am here i rarely reveal myself.
well I for one am glad you don't 'reveal' yourself - no nudity allowed here!
:D
Scrab...apparently the iso etc was in the ditto machine but the mimeograph used ink
Purple ink. I remember the freshly created papers--moist and smelly.
I remember those blue fingers
hmm i thought ditto and mimeograph were same
silly me
its funny - google mimeograph and smell and there is a heap of chat about it
purple ink, yes. and the gel things smelled like bananas
well this is a pretty nice grid. got to dreaded 13 no probs, and got all the 7's.
ditto masters - typed on them and purple from second sheet transferred to the front sheet and then put on the machine, mimeograph stencils you typed on and it cut holes for the letters in the stencil that the ink would come through
glad I could contribute to the conversation!
Oh, that's how it worked, wv?
did i miss mom?
yes, owl
now we all can be mimeographologists
have used too many dittos and mimeos in my life to forget them
i found them - hectographs!
i think what i remember seeing is ditto machines then
oh pooh. i have not seen her in ages and wondered how she is doing
Good morning friends
Hi Bob
hi Bob
hi Bob..was out on the terrace watering my flowers
annie how have you been? I have not been very good about keeping up via email
Owl, I am awful at emails but I love to receive them. I have been "off and on" ...okay now.
Owl, I hope you are "on" also. Write and let me know how you are.
that is good. i think it's time for me to be off. the crowd looked sa4 so i wanted to come out.
LOL. Have a peaceful day, Owl.
I might get going too - cold here and late so bed is looking good. Bye all
sweet dreams, lynxxx and keep warm
you as well. i wanted to take my car into the shop ut they are booked. going to get soem flowers to plant
night lyn, nice to see you.
Flowers cheer me up.
they would be cheerier if someone else ought and planted them. i have become lazy
okay, lazybones, goeth fo5 and plant.
st
:) well, probably better ti finsih off the last 20 if i plan to finish at all
TY for fo5 clue, Annie
youre welcome
I need 36 more
Happy Friday, buddies!
Hi Judi :)
good morning my babble friends:)
hi crossy :)
howdy annie:))
hey cross, and everyone
howdy uncover
hi uncover
good morning crossy
Hi Judi, Crossy and Uncover.
lol.i see dart001 got fireworks on this in 34 minutes..good lord
hey Annie, how are you today?
howdy scwabby and teach
annie: are you likeing i'll have another for tomorrow?
wow, 34 minutes is a blur, not sure I can even type that fast
morning all. clue for the first fe 5/16 pls
same here uncover
Hey, Crossy. I saw an article last night on MSN online that someone has created "glazed donut vodka". I'm holding out for bran muffin vodka myself.
Looks good to me...How about Paynter for second? Am I spelling paynter correctly?
ugh judi,i see many new vodkas, blueberry, butterscotch, watermel lon...no thank you
I am not seeing much in this grid yet. 81 to go.
Hey crossy. :)
howdy neil:)
And Scrabbler, etc.
Hi Neil
i dont' know what the odds were for the derby, ut i could have kicked myself for not betting him
fe5/16----f and what they say in the Army ---At ****.
ty-never heard that word
TY, Annie
Owl, They were good odds. Too bad OTB closed..we always worked out butts off that day but had lots of fun.
you no longer have it? we are expanding the turf clubs here
The state took over Belmont and Aqueduct. They now have racinos at the Belmont. Only slots, no table games yet.
i am opposed to this on many levels.
i don't think poor people should be subsiziding my real estate taxes
Just blacked out the left side. Anyone feel the grid tip?
Owl, Gambling is an awful addiction. If you can afford to gamble, fine but I have seen people gamble to pay their rent. Heartbreaking.
Amen, Annie. It astonishes me that, as bad as our economy is, casinos and gambling in general is expanding at a fair clip. Might as well just flush the money down the toilet.
And lottery tickets = taxes for poor people.
People think the next bet or the next lottery ticket is their way out of "whatever".
and it's a rush just as drugs are. sad.
of course gambling attracts the lower incomes and people who should really not be doing it anyways.is it surprising?? you are going under anyways,so why not take a grab at that brass ring, you never know, you might snag one before the water closes over your head
crossy, never happens.
State sanctioned russian roulette.
of course not annie.what do they thing those casino palaces are built with? not by giving money away
meaningful of nothing, but my wife and I both played one dollar a week in Mass state lottery starting when we were married in like 1970. Sent money to bro in law for 35 years. Never won a nickel
they have one rabbit or carrot to keep the dogs running is all.pop a big winner once a month or so to keep them all running
Last time, I was at Mohegan Sun I won close to a thousand dollars at roulette and walked away. Addicted gamblers cant do that.
lol uncover, thats just over 12,000 you spent on that lottery
Babble is a much healthier addition. Well, mentally healthy anyway.
Owl, the odds for I'll Have Another in the Derby were 15-1. And that was the horse I picked, but didn't bet on. Ouch.
Ouch, Molly
betting on the ponies can be just as deadly as the casinos
It was fun to have picked the winning horse though. : )
Anyone have a clue for the first fe5/16?
The only gambling I do is lottery tickets, and I have won enough to justify that minimal amount. Plus giving me something to dream about once a week.
judi, f and as they say in the Army----At ****.
i also do our lotto 649 at the cost of 3 dollars a week.yes a dream is nice
Ty.
the F in the army that I know isn't printable here
And that's fireworks for me!!
grats! Judi
yaa for judi!!
congrats, Judi!
As in SNAFU, Ruru.
fo 5/18?
nm
Work beckons. I must away. See you crazy kids tomorrow! *POINK*
bye judi
fireworks
friendly grid
yaa for annie!
anyone want a clue before I start my day?
reading back on poor granny rose and her knee:( too bad she is not over here.there is a wait of 8 months or so,but at least it would get done
Here she would have had the operation by now.
i mean without selling her home:)
So do I.
Her insurance would have paid for it.
all insurance manadatory down there now? everyone has it? i have lost track of it in the last while down there
No, crossy, health insurance is mandatory yet. It is a big fight here.
ahh.heard they were thinking of something kind of like our old o.h.i.p system from 25 years ago
Grannyrose is a nurse..doesnt she have health insurance paid by her employer?
Grannyrose is a nurse..doesnt she have health insurance paid by her employer?
ontario hospital insurance plan*
do not know annie, seems it was a work related injury
Then she should be covered.
What's going on with Rose, crossy? Haven't heard from her in several days.
she seems to need a knee repacement
Yes she does.
But has something happened with that?
but, I guess, covered by insurance or not, you still have to wait in Australia.
She was supposed to be having surgery this month.
guess the fight is on with her version of workers comp
Oh man. :(
That is what I understood.. I thought she was having the operation soon
Yes. Supposed to... so I thought.
oh drat, doorbell, see you all later
tc annie
think i shall totter off and find some tea..back in a fw min
hello
as usual, ruby enters to an empty room...
found a tea,and ready to continue ((ruby))
crossy waves to ruby...
hello ruby
she cannot see us teach:((
crossy the invisible man mwahaha
I saw you both {{big hugs!}}
there she is:))
I think granny is having the surgery on the 25th and her knee replacement is being made to order in the US
ahh very good then, thought there was a concern over work comp
I've just planted a bonzo geranium and I'm leaving little muddy fingerprints all over my keyboard, even though I wore gloves
gonzo*
ahh ruby aka mother earth;)
(with a nasty streak, per crossy!!! lol)
I wish you could see my garden! Although so much rain had made it pretty blowsy, it is glorious!
you? a nasty streak?? non!
hahah
how wonderful to have the colorful garden
this geranium is so beautiful, that I kept it on the deck
would be like having a hobbit that kicks puppies:)
I weighed myself yesterday, for the first time in about a year, and I gained 3 lbs! up to 100. (all muscle from the extra work since husband's been laid up, of course)
while I was planting, Rufie was eating dirt
lol@ 100 pounds.my work boots weigh half that
what do they say about a peck of dirt?
you must have birdie bones
i know with kids they talk about eating dirt and it makes them healthier
no, big-boned like a Russian girl hahah
lol,,not
I hope it works for dogs!
all kids should eat dirt at least once
at least once..... a day .....
when I was in college and running track (not successfully), my mother used to tease me about having thighs like an East German athlete. It must have really stung, because it is MANY years ago
lol
do you remember those women from the 60's on all the steroids? They were scary-looking
my two boys always had pockets full of rocks and dirt - always checked pockets before putting things in wash
lots of noise in the dryer!
i always get the east german or russian girls when i go for PT."hello little man(she tosses me on the table like a sack of grain) vee needs you to lay down UNT you VILL get a massage no?"
always - now my granddaughter brings me the rocks to hold for her "special collection"
raofl!
that is so cute, teach
maybe she'll be a geologist
get her a children's book on minerals; you never know
ergs
get her a rock hammer, she may take your cellar apart:)
sorry
my husband is a geologist - but neither of the boys - b ut maybe she will be - we certainly have enough rocks around the house that he has collected
ty ruby:)
pls don't report me to the hall monitor
we will not tell
there is a rock hammer under the front seat of the car - for my husband
I've been giving my husband fossils and fossil books for years, trying to get him interested, but I find them more interesting than he does
we have many geodes, fossils and misc rocks all around the house, plus my old fossil of a husband (see, nasty ruby)
you need to get him out on a nice shale bed with a knife,a rubber hammer and a screwdriver and let him seperate the layers
that's my dream, crossy, for me, not him
we have our share of fossils
why not find a nice shale bed and plant real good find for him to "stumble" across?
it seems like every road cut in WV has layers of shale - and limestone - and coal - the kids have always enjoyed breaking the shale in to layers
years ago, the only one I ever found was an ammonite from high up in the Southern Alps. It is bigger than my hand and was just lying there, exposed
my son had great fun with it here as well tech
<-- doesn't know if she'd recognize shale if she stumbled on it
my wife found a fly in amber years ago..that was real nice
that is lovely
shale is the dark greyish rock that peels apart in thin layers
indeed ruby..peels apart in sheets
I'll look it up, but don't think there is any in this region
we had one local go down to our shale bed by the water and find an entire 9 inch fish and he was able to get it all.thats the secret.taking time when seperating the layers
that is amazing
he donated it to the royal ontario museum
what I am trying to learn about here is local insect life, very interesting and different
we were at a geology camp in Colorado next to a US national park that is the Florissant Foosil beds and it is mainly fossilized fish
I am green with envy
best i found was an entire leaf
we get a lot of shells and some leaves locally
shells are easy here, sad to say we leave most of them where we find them unless it is a nice big one
i only collected them when i was doing a project for school and wanted to have something for the kids
son once found a oyster fossil, thing was the size of my fist
shells are also the easiest thing here also
oyster,clam,something like that anyways
I'[m sure the stream beds here have fossils, but I'm not in good enough shape any more to look for them :(
nor i ruby,i now take a nap when i bend over to tie my shoes:)
things are a long ways down now
we have a large slab with very large shells in it out on our front porch - it cam from the middle of Kansas where there is obviously no sea life any more - my husband used it to demonstrate geological change
getting dressed is the hardest part of the day!
very nice
that sounds wonderful, teach
the slab is nice, not the getting dressed marathon;)
does he have trouble with Creationists?
or is that a babble taboo subject?
not really - everyone once in a while there might be a student in the beginning class (university) but not really a problem
and I just found ch5, right up his alley
one year in the elementary school where i taught we had a parent who questioned one of the books in the library dating the dinosuars - but she was assured that her son would not be required to read it - it was a library book that students could choose to check out or not
i refrain for discussing politics or religion.but will duscuss food, booze and sex all you wish
and pl for ch6
anti-science people are scary
ty for the pl, didn't see it
and god went to the burning bush and POOF!! god created a scientologist!! hehe
crossy is bad
<-- loves crossy
now back to bacon
had a problem with a parent 3-4 years ago who didn't want his two children exposed to any discussion of global warming because he didn't believe it existed - and he was a univeristy faculty member
lol teach he should tour our far north
I'm afraid to ask what he taught.....
chair of the computer science department
everything is opening up above the parmafrost line,,hell we are losing the permafrost
and he would explain our weird weather how???
we are now fighting with the russing for shipping right in the new norther tracks that were never open before
russians
northern

shoafer no good? LOL
Molly.... the time has gone SO quickly... I wish that I could slow it down.
ty Molly
time, in general, is passing much too quickly !!
It's shofar
Would not have gotten that on my own
CRAP! I'll Have Another was scratched from Belmont. No Triple Crown winner this year.
time to poach some eggs.... be back later :-)
bummer, Molly!! Why??
No official word yet. Press conference at 1PM. I have to assume an injury. Man it's been a long time since a horse had a shot at The Triple Crown.
That is sad. They do push those horses very hard at a very young age.
I'm wondering if that, plus all the lasix is why we haven't had a Triple Crown winner since 1978.
Interesting article from ABC news yesterday - apparently his trainer is suspected of illegal drug use (for the horses), and his horses show signs of injury at twice the national average.
1 pm est molly?
hey all
howdy saddy
cross.... did you se my message to you yesterday?
Help please - first th 5 12 my last owrd

very nice indeed sammysmom! we can always use a new member on the team:)) and remember our friends at foldit.com cracked an important aids protien this spring,so we can do it!!
it is so nice sammysmom to actually be doing something tangible,on the front lines as it were, other than just tossing money at the people who do
imagine of our babble group ends up being the one to crack a key protien?
get it named "babble protein 744" lol
and sammysmom, tell her to keep on fighting!! cancer is what you have,it is not what you are!
and every time you cure a cancer,it is like having a new life laid on you,all new and shiny and fresh out of the shrink wrap.suddenly the posibities become endless
i am seing your comments cross, .. i am multitasking ....
cool
if she is currently battling cancer and wishes to chat cancer or blow off steam she can mssg me at p.a.melbourne@gmail.com just tell her to use babble in the id line

ahh cool nice to know she is a scrapper.but i have been clean for a few years now.i do my folding and am on call at princess margrettes for those men newly diagnosed with testicular cancer and wish to talk
she was given 3 months to live over 30 years ago - she and hubby decided " we don;'t think so" and they have since adopted and raised 9 kids .... they started an adoption agency and haver placed thousands of kids in good homes.....while also running another business...........they have bioth finally retuired and are concentrating on their humanitarian projects.

howdy trif
babbling happily at work....thanking god this is my last day as sub Office Manager
hi trif!
hello sue! and crossy!
power nap time bbl
My son keeps pointing out that, as I run around the house turning off lights, TVs, and radios, my computer is always on. I told him that I am happy to pay for the power to run it as long as it is folding.
hmmm. seems "rofl" hasn't entered enables periphery as yet. Figures. No sense of humor!
Sense of humor is thin around here at times. : P
<-- is fat, including her sense of humor :-)
hey there molly! how goes the battle today, sweetie?
Not a battling day. Just having an attitude of gratitude. : )
glad to hear that, friend
I give up...clue for the r in the fourth column, fourth row, please? I am sure it's a huge plural fish, and I just can't see it
A rh6/21ical question
thank you tor!!! I am so happy to see you!
I just got that word a minute ago ..
Ever notice how Tor swoops in from oblivion with the clues? Kinda scary.
he always comes to my rescue...it
is why I adore him so
Aw shucks ..
darn...my boss is back....have to babble on the sly....
♥♥♥ Trif & Tor ♥♥♥
oh, torgone, you KNOW I adore you! Always have, always will. Next life I am going to sit next to you in school so we can be childhood sweethearts that marry and celebrate 60 years of complete bliss. Plan on it!
:-)
heh heh
My luck, I'll be reincarnated as a sea slug or something ..
well than I shall be the sea slug on the next kelp
Tor, I wouldn't fight it if I were you. She's got it bad.
I am as helpless as a sea slug floating along on the kelp ..
<---Feels a Finding Nemo song coming up
I will always have your back, tor. Float away
sots
SO so so sorry........
can't concentrate..... off to the garden..poof
hey all, and thanks spanner for my 23rd word! :-)
YW
*visions of two VERY happy sea slugs sitting on their own private kelp island*
oh! halfway and NBT!
hi stid!
hey sue!
rofl is in the grid...
true, viajes, as if the grid is amused at how hard it gets halfway through... *frowns at grid*
I'm 2/3 through now and have slowed considerably.
go sue go!
down to 44 and taking a break. back later. *poof*
hi all
bye stiddy
hi all
<==glad she missed the finding nemo song
hi jmc
so just a big heads up..if i drop a word..i really dont MEAN to...am not being a smart a$$...i am in a cold and flu drug induced haze atm...
how are things? tell me something amusing!
hmmm..amuzing....well i gave my dog some split pea soup and now he is going to have the farts all night whilst sleeping in my sons room...
oh no!
amusing* even
*brews up some mild green tea*
made me laugh. . . hahaha
*gets some chicken soup going*
( am sipping a palm bay - very low alcohol vodka cooler that fizzy and not too sweet then intend to have a nap)
my day started off with a client crises (from law practice) and then the mirror jumped off my car
i wanted cool and fizzy and not sweet..pop too sweet..feels nice on throat
oh dear....did it jump back?
yes when i am sick i drink gingerale because it is less sweet
no it broke into smithereens
<--- imagines the mirror jumping around in traffic trying to find way back to jmc's car
oh dear...welll pretty sparklies in the road...
no it is looking very arty in the street in front of my house
you could gather it up and make a nifty mosaic something or other for your garden :p
the problem owning a saab is the turkeys went out of business so finding a mirror is a challenge
i may do that if i ever get off of hold for my clients tax problem
hmmmm..sorry i have a kia
it doesnt take lego
hi jmc and carlee!
i love my saab :-{
hi uu
hi sue
<-----carlee is dizzy and sick..but dizzy is nice atm
as long as you are lying down carlee
hey, jmc, is your On The Level initiative off the ground yet? I have people who I think would be interested in supporting it.
i am...until i go to let the farty dog in
i think the webcite will be up next week
i was planning on being at the library today instead of sitting on hold
ok, cool! Let me know and I can steer a bunch of people to it.
yay!
i should mess with my logo so it looks better as an icon
stats for the fourth row R please
rh6/21
is there an rh?
that is what i was afraid of ty uu
that's the only one I have from that r. There's an rh from the upper right r as well.
so...i am not sure if any of you saw the link i posted in fb called feed my family...
there are 3 rh words
no i don't think i saw that carlee
ty wv i found the one from the second row R
is a comparitive look at cost of foods for people living in nunavut ( rankin inlet mostly)
a 24 case of water...104.00 cdn
a hungry man dinner..12.99
can you post the link here please?
a frozen bucket of kfc - 50.00
https://www.facebook.com/groups/239422 122837039/
i refuse to buy bottled water
most of it comes from the tap anyway
jmc - other 2 RH words are fro the other R - rh 6/7
I saw that, carlee, crazy prices (presumably because everything has to be flown in)
yes..well..please explain how ramen noodles shipped from korea cost us down here .50 and up there 5.00
yes...well in permafrost jmc....u gotta wait for the water to thaw...
ty wv
no fire to melt it?
its mark up..most of the products are expired
i think that the airfare for ramen would not explain the difference in price
shameless
what wood are you burning....no trees...google images of rankin inlet....1 2x4x8' is 8.00 a piece
is corporate and govt mark up....huge protest being planned up there tomorrow
its disgusting
i see. . . i know that when i am in west texas water is premium . . . no free water to wash windows at the gas station
good on them to protest
anyway..if you can post and join the site and repost with your friends...get the word out...
thanks for passing it on
cus the communities are so small to start with
water is premium cus up there when melts is salt water... and apparently smells very fishy... brita does not take out the smell
how did they get along before this?
oh really that rh6 is ridiculous . . . nbt
they were inuit..hunt and fish..igloos... and the cost to fly in was high but not That HIGH
NOW is just getting redonkulous
most of what they get s past expiry date
is just pure greed on part of suppliers
with bad economy... everyone out to make a buck...only 2 airlines that fly up there...can charge what they want...i know a dozen eggs is 24.00
can't imagine they sell much at those prices
nope....gets thrown out
so what, they pick it up for free and then fly it up on spec hoping someone will buy it? whole thing sounds very shady (never mind completely unethical)
pretty much
oh shrek and his buddies in the grid how cute
ah yes, I found them :-)
ok..i need a nap... letting dogs in and catching some zzzz's
take a rest, and feel better, carlee!
thanks sue
I guess everybody took a rest ..

Evening all :-)
*coming out of lurk mode* Hi there soodle!
hi Soodle !
Hello Jilly. :-). Using a borrowed laptop, so typos are forecast..... :-(
good babblers can overlook typos!
hi Jilly :-)
Thank you. And hi Diane :-)
*Raises eyebrow* "Borrowed"?
hello dianedecode! How are you today?
I am very good... catching up on little tasks that have been bugging me.... it feels so good !!
Hey Molly. Yes, borrowed. With the permission of the lawful owner!
And how are you soodle? How are things in Ireland?
made grad card for our grandson... birthday card for a friend... registered two new black and decker products (online) ... just about to make a first birthday card for our wee one !
Good enough, Jilly. If you don't count the recession, the unemployment, and the appalling weather !!!!!
The Help "borrows" my dear. How far you have fallen. Tsk, tsk.
Same here in Montana soodle...
Wee one dianed?
our little great granddaughter will be one year old tomorrow !
Wow! Congrats!
A temporary lapse, Molly. And, Diane, how lovely!
have a look at my pics in Facebook when you get a chance.... there's certainly ENOUGH pictures of her !! LOL
She's such a cutie, Diane. I hope she enjoys her 1st birthday party.
I don't think the weather is going to cooperate... which will keep us from enjoying the outdoors.... so we'll just move indoors !! I made her a dress using a pattern I used for "her" grandma at age one ( 50 years ago. Obviously, I save too many 'THINGS" lol
well, 39 and need to list....
Oh Diane, that is such a cute idea.
So sweet. Good health to all the generations, Diane.
Thanks... I'm trying :-)
My theory, Dianed, is to leave all my junk for my sons to have to deal with when I'm gone...LOL
On a completely different note, the smell of cat-pee followed me around all day today. I was getting really anxious, until I sniffed my handbag, and it seems that the wretched beast relieved itself in it last night. The bag is now in the bin, and the cat is lucky it hasn't followed it....
MY GOD!..just bought my very first home air conditioner...the decadance...the luxury..the superlative coolnesss...mmmmmm
i am not sweating...how odd...
this is almost better than bacon..
LOL soodle...how very awful though...
good for you, Crossy :-)
Steady on, Crossy.............
ahhhhhhh:)
Evenin' folks here and abroad
so this is how the 1% live...mmmm
Your cat PEED in your purse??? I am so grossed out by such stories here. Blech.
howdy bichon
Process of elimination Molls. My purse smelled of cat-pee, ergo............. And hi Bichon :-)
Hi bichon
Cat must have been making a fashion statement soodle!
<---Does not understand why people have animals that pee on their purses and yack hairballs all over their homes.
our cats use ;litter boxes only..period.they start peeing outside the box, then i use a cat to scrub the pee stain away
You should visit my son's house. It reeks of cat elimination. Cat is old. They won't get rid of it and they have two children there
as for hairballs, they can be anywhere
Bich, that is so gross. The poor kids.
brb
Both parents have PhD's
And, I have gotten bug bites in their house. Think it's bed bugs
nothing like a fresh hairball squishing tween yer toes while on the way to the bathroom at 3 am
Its at times like this that I'm actually grateful that I can't afford Louis Vuitton. The cat is normally extremely well behaved, but he must have been caught short, and my purse was handy. I have learned a valuable lesson!!!!
and when a cat pukes,it will do its best to get off that scrubbable tile and onto that shag carpet at all costs
One of our previous Bichons was a puker. But, he reconsumed it. Gross, but tidy
gross conversation....
yes, let's change the topic
I think I'll just dish up some dinner for the boy. I seem to have lost my appetite.
I see that lovely "standby " favourite of the 70's is in the grid :-))
meant to say favourite fabric !!
Mae culpa. Sorry Molls :-(
Mae Culpa...is she related to Mae West? : P
She sure is.... Come up and see me some time......!!
fe 5/16, 1st one, pls
back to finish
f+ she is such a t****
Sorry Bich... not got it.
tyvm Jilly
Soodle, you must do a Google image search on pig hats. It will give you some ideas for the pig race.
yvw bichon
Hey, great plan Molly. I will. How did Cosdem get on at his hog-roast. Last I heard, he was pondering the great flip-flop/trainers debate.
Hmm, he never mentioned it. I'll have to ask him next time he's about.
Trainers = sandals?
I think he had settled on the 'non-flip-flop' option.
---->sparkles<----
Boom, boom, boom for Jilly.
Trainers... running shoes, nikes, sneakers.
Woo Hoo Jilly!!!!
pretty easy grid today...here to clue
I'm done. Dunna need any clues lass.
Your clue for the fe @ 4.49, Jilly. Could you be a little bit more specific?
panic time..son forgot the school prom was tonight..start an hour ago
20 min drive to prom..frantic panic to find his dress shoes and tie for a 20 min drive to prom
The prom is at 4 in the afternoon??
Yikes. We don't have proms here, but I've seen enought movies to know its a pretty important night for kids. And your guy forgot??????
he gorgot...AND THE GIRL IS WAITING!!!
He knows how to impress a girl
must have been the bacon. :-)
Hey Lynn :-)
morning Soodle
Quite the tale crossy....
yipes...phone...bbl
We don't have Proms here. Our equivalent is the 'Debs'. And theres so much hype about it, that whatever else happens, the kids don't forget it. There are loads of horror stories about wardrobe malfunctions, unknown addresses, over indulgence in drink, but I never heard of a kid forgetting.....
Yes Jilly, quite the tale.
There is a lot of hype for proms too. Weeks of planning go into them. Dinner, what to wear, after Prom.
I've always been glad I had boys when Prom time rolled around. Renting a tux was so much easier than putting up with the dress shopping thing.
After weeks of careful selection (!) I invited a lad called Gerry to my Debs. He duly arrived, suited and booted, bearing the regulation orchid and chocs. My dad answered the door, and said Hi. You must be Bryan. The evening went downhill from there.....
Oh wow, you gotta love Dads, right? : )
LOL Molly. Absolutely...
I love the stories about what fathers do when their daughters dates arrive.
I could write a book Molly! Specially about the days before cell phones, when the only way a guy could make contact was on the house phone....
BBL
First time a guy called me, my younger brother answered the phone. He let a roar out of him....Mary. There's a BOY on the phone for you. The whole family gathered round for a listen.....
It was like something off Waltons Mountain........
hi again all! I am old enough that I don't remember my proms very well (although I do remember going with Frank - we were so young back then!)
Hello
hi soodle!
Sorry Sue... that Hello was for you!!
I figured :-)
there!! whew!! boy has some explaining to do to his lady! got him to his prom 1 hour and 20 min late and she was standing there waiting!
glad it is not me!!!
Just wandering down Memory Lane.....
egads, crossy!! Well, they will remember it for sure!!
diner was served 15 min before...
well at least he has the dancing till 10:30
oh dear :-(
indeed.mrs and i kept asking him how he could forget lol
hopefully the girl won't be *too* cross with him
time for me to say toodle-oo. Good night everybody. Thanks for the wonderful company
lucky thing his good clothes were all haning and pressed in the closet from his last doo
lol, thats his problem;)) all part of the training hehe
night, soodle!
gn soodles
my god..dad needs a drink,,nerves are shot, but the dance was out at the mountain at the ski club and his lordship will need a ride home later..iced tea for crossy
you must be pretty frazzled!
find the tie, hunt down the dress shoes, hit a flower shop on the way, pray for a half decent corsage
he had better be properly grateful!!
not knowing the colour of her dress for corsage selection...
kids owes me big
oh dear, cross-boy in deep manure pile... but we've all been there, right? hope the kid survives and has a good time!
I hope you're okay, cross -- we have made similar "rescues" occasionally, and it's usually more nerve-wracking for us than them. They assume we can make it happen, we just hope we come close.
knock knock.. anyone home?
does anyone have the first fe6?
don't have a single p
pr6: before + first 3 letters of a british political party then pl for teh 7
theres also pr5/6/7 the 6 would be what a magician says.. take off last letter for the 5 and pl for 7
The first fe is the first part of possible as in it is fe***able.
isnt that the first fe5?
i needed the first fe6
thanks!
sounds like that little weasel-like annimal... but change the last consonant, cos....
or Will ....... comedic actor
word for a cat that's gone wild, cos

the drivers mirror but only the mirror itself not the expensive motor thing

Hi Neil
I really DO need to change my avitar. Say no to crack is getting old. lol
Huh? Haha.
Too funny Robin... and hi. :)
Are plumbers banned from your house?
Mostly.
Plumbers, electricians, anyone like that... men with heavy toolbelts. :P
I'd better be careful myself... I'm getting handier lately. See today's updates.
Only if they can keep them where they belong!
Yeah. That's not something anyone should have to see.
Get the dent out of her car? I should check your profile more often!
That one pic of you with a raised eyebrow gets me every time I see it. lol
Okay...8 left for sh/.
Yep, pretty much.
It "gets" you?
Makes me smile.
Ha.
Have you joined all the other Babblers on Goodreads yet, btw?
Tells me a good soul is in you...and a prankster. No. Not heard of Goodreads.
Well I'm 100% certain about the latter anyway. :P
No? Oh it's a great site... if you enjoy books?
Hehe.
Send an email to the address I have on profile if you want an invitation to join.
There's a Babblers' group on there.
I thought about it because I'm looking around on there now.
5 left in the...oh wait! I'm missing the 5th row er4/6? Okay, will do, Neil. Thank you!
yw :)
Let me see... 5th row er4,6?
Yes plz.
2nd one
hey neil. getting your hands dirty? wtg, on working on the car. some guys just never get the way of it
There are 3: self-esteems, er + opp. of "stop" and almost the previous word but with a plural consonant on the end instead.
Hope that's helpful?
And hi Rose! :)
hi robin
Hey, you saw the photo?
Well my dad's a good mechanic and he's taught me a few things here and there.
neil, starting to get the jitters here, only 16 days to go.
And why wouldn't I be getting my hands dirty?
Aww. You'll be fine Rose!
And much better once you heal from that.
Hi there, granny
It should give you a lot of relief.
like i said, some guys just don't go there. my josh is 26 and an apptentice panel beater, nearly finished his time. he loves it, and so does my simon, son #2, he loves tinkering with his car. but daniel, numero uno, omg, he would rather die.
Haha. The latter one sounds like my brother. :P
really strange, since their father spent most of his spare time under, in, on top of his car/s
Ha. Well not all kids turn out like their parents.
don't think i'll go there, neil, never know which of my sons might be eavesdropping. lol
lol :P
Sounds like my eldest son, 27. Would rather take a week off of his VERY good paying job to play Mass Affect 3 video game when it came out than work. No lifting or manual labor for him. My youngest is 26 and would do about anything. Works for Verizon.
anyway, my bag is nearly completely packed. am in the process of sorting out suitable clothing for rehab.
That's my age too, Robin.
so, robin, nothing new under the sun, then?
You remind me of my son Ty, Neil.
27 I mean. My 27th birthday was back on this last December 29th.
I do? You don't know much about me yet.
ooohhhhh, AND the tiling is almost finished, just the grouting to.....then the new shower will be put up, and i will be able to have a shower in my OWN bathroom again.
Nah, Rose. Getting older stinks, gravity can go suck an egg and I'm having an adult beverage to keep me from thinking about it.
lol, robin, have to wait another 2 hours before the sun is over the yardarm, here
When do you go into hospital, Rose?
Oh Rose, I have something fun to show you.
I'll send a quick email with that in.
25th june, neil.
My ex-hubby, current significan other (complicated) just did his shower on his own. If he had his way, he'd have used duct tape for the whole thing.
Rose, I'm sorry. Didn't know you are going to the hospital. I hope and pray all will be fine.
and robin, have you noticed that each year someone moves the floor further away? very frustrating!
Wow Robin. He's been watching too much Red Green.
Yes!!! I thought it was just me!
robin, all good. have known since april 2011 that i needed a total knee replacement. just waiting until i had enough paid time off accrued.
LOL, Red Green. Yes - that and Myth Busters.
Okay...4 left before the flip. brb....
neil did you send? not here yet.
Crud, sh5/12 2nd, 3rd, sh6/21 and last sh5/12 help plz???
