Me too. Take Probiotics, 10 billion CFU. Works wonders with the pooch. I swear by it. One a day.
Time to change to piano...
I do take probiotics. I just have this awful metabolism that puts pounds on if I look at food or drink.
Ahhhh.....Jim Chappell. Best pianist - can make you cry, make you smile, make you laugh and just stun you. Sooths my soul.
...McCoy Tyner.. is my favorite pianist
Ahhh....Jill. Make sure you're taking 10B....much cheaper actually. And, my doc gave me Belladona w/ph for the bloating. Sooooo close to a size 6 again.
Ruru....I'll look him up. Thank you. Piano and Violin are my favorite.
Wow, good for you, Robin!
so people who need to gain weight should take anti-biotics?

Okay. I'm here playing soothing, beautiful piano music while my other half is playing a shoot 'em "shoooot him with the biggest gun you have' game in the next room. Wonderful.
Actually I felt silyl when he told me it was the Ukraine, not Russia. They had landed there at first so I was confused... oh well. Lack of communication.
Uhhh yeah, Robin. I'd turn the piano music up and close the door to that adjoining room.
"silly" even. Can't type.

That's loke So.Cal - the weather is just great, almost every day. I don't miss the seasonal changes. We have about 11 days of rain, and that's enough for me. Since I retired, I needn't go out, if the weather doesn't appeal to me.

how are you feeling? Still going on opiate trips?
yes christine, hope to go home in 2-3 days.

That's a blessing. Did you have a knee replaced?
opiates are being steadily decreased, my decision
yes christine, and today, day 6 post-op i found i can walk almost normally, with crutches. no step, step, move crutches, but everything happening like in a normal walk, except slower of course
that is very good news

I had a replacement, and they didn't give me crutches. Agrannywalker to go home, which I ddidn't use until I went for the 6week checkup, and then only because it was raining, and the pavement was slippery. Kaiser has you walking up and down the halls, the next day.
omg, talk about big pinkies. i didn't mean to shout
your shouting is a p[leasure, have really missed you
I did that on a loooooong email today. Fortunately, I caught it before I hit send.
same here, christine, except my knee is using new technology, and my surgeon is being a little more cautious. also i had a femoral nerve block...hard to walk when brain and leg muscles aren't talking to each other
very sophisticated treatment in Aus., and I think it helps being a knowledgeable nurse!
ooh, sounds bad. I'm waiting now, to have the other knee and my froggy hip done. Probably seperate opereations.
are you watching the Tour, you two? The best riders are English and Australian, and there's even an aussie team this year
oh no, christine, was wonderful, no pain for 2 days
I get my exercise watching the Tour on TV!

a very good afternoon, Babble friends
... hello sprite ... is it 2 oclock where you are?
hi dos, yes it is, almost!
exec is SO a phantom!
... thanks ... just checking for the start of the broadcast of the Tour de France ... ...
ah! I wondered, but since it is a question I could ask just out of curiosity, I didn'
didn't ask :D
... yes ... letters seem to be all out of position this morning
looks like it indeed. I have found almost as much phantoms as real words so far.
ruby will have so much fun. She loves watching the tour de france.
... yes we've had several discussions about it
... I think it's going almost by her house next year
oh she would love that! It happened before. I have seen pics of how they decorated the house.
... brain is shutting off ... hitting a wall at 50 ... think I'll make breakfast ... have a good day!
enjoy breakfast, dos! And have a lovely day.
I try to find this word meaning someone who lives very purely and cleanly, forsaking all worldly luxuries... asc..... the spelling I would expect does not take!
gm, sprite! dali lama?
lol! Hi dawg :) No, I am thinking ascete, but it does not take.
neither does ascetic and hello everyone
hi Annie!
morning, annie
Hi sprite :)
and hi to dawg :)
no but ascetic is a phantom and ascete is actually there... but not valid. I need to look it up :)
how are you today, Annie?
dawg, are you working today?
Tired, sprite, long good day at the pool party yesterday
yes, working and hoping it's not in the garden area.
ok ascete is french. The noun for the person in english is, as Annie said, ascetic. Alas.
yay for the pool party!
ooh, pool party would have been nice yesterday.
over halfway, but finding this one not easy
It was wonderful, great food, great company, great drinks, great desserts and excellent coffee. Can't wait till next year.
started out okay on this one, now slowing down too.
wow that sounds like one helluva party. Glad you had such a good time :)
I just started so I am still hopeful
hopeful is always good
the list really helps

and if I type recent or exec one more time, I beg you to kick me.
No kicking today...gentle whacks only'
i keep missing the plurals! that S is hiding in my blindspot
well those might help too :)
yeah that S is so misplaced.
name that proper noun...actor Sean

it is the order of the dolphins and whales, oceanic mammals. ce8/50
Hello red :)
hi red :)
Annie! How are you , and how is your friend who had to be in the rehab? I know that was ages ago, but I thought I would ask.
Hi Sprite!
bl
hi red
hi red
hi lbd and kje.
don't name that proper name, because it is also a word: Mr. Rochester's Jane.
Red, Im okay...my friend had her second surgery on his hip, was successful but she is lax doing her exercises so she is not doing as well as the surgeon says she should. She can walk about 3 streets but then her leg get wobbly.
Oooh Is she able to be back at home?
morning, all. I have a favor to ask. If you believe in the power of prayer, please pray for my father. My mom called me yesterday and said he is not doing well. He is 78 years old, and he has quite a number of health problems. We think he may be over-medicated; he is disoriented and is falling often; he has a uti, and has to have a catheter for ten days; he cannot dress himself without assistane, he is using a walker, and he will barely eat. She is going o take him to the ER this morning to see if he can be admitted to the hospital for a few days.
I am finding even a year out if I do not keep up well with the exercise I do poorly.
Yes, she is at home for a while...walks with a cane.
Prayers out for your Dad, Angel.
Oh Angel this is bad news, but if the UTI clears up, maybe alot of the other issues will too. Will pray and think of you all.
red, you are so much younger than her and I will tell her what you just "said"
Angelsong: yes of course, and I fully believe in that power. Will pray for your father and your family.
so sorry, angel
Annie, I slacked off a few weeks ago and BAM, all sorts of problems.
Angel, my prayers for your Dad
Red, I will nag her to keep up her excercises. She still wants to get into the city by subway and right now it is impossible. I will nag her.
t's and p's for your dad, angel
tadone!! finito
I think sometimes it feels silly to keep on with the, but then when I dont I cant do it.
Whoa!!!! Congratulations to LBD.
Angel- canyou update us when your Mom tells us what heppened in the ER?
dawg, you are great, congrats!
wtg dawg!
ty, ty, ty, *blushing, certainly no greatness he4. just perseverance or OCD!"
yes, of course, Red. I just hope they will admit him
yes that would be a reassurance, I think, Angel. My hopes go with yours.
angel, have them look into his meds. In Nov. I almost died because I was ove medicated with diuretics and my sodium level fell to 113.
sounds like they will...based on my limited knowledge, plus its summer and the hospitals are supposedly less full.
lol OCD for sure, dawg... but you are great too :)
i would think his age and the fact that he's not eating would prompt at least an overnight observation.
if he gets admitted, ask for a geriatrician to see him (geri consult) they can help you with the delirium, medications, better help at home, etc
I could have used you the other day kje...
yes, his sodium has been low as well. I think there are just too many meds, and doctors who are not paying attention.
you re most likely correct, angel - the geri docs will help clean that up
A normal sodium level is very important. Mention that is sodium level is low.
If it is a local hospital with a geri doc...just be sure they look at the meds and do not put all the delerium and such on to the UTI...which is what may happen.
yes, geriatricians are in short supply, so may not have any there, but ask anyway, they will recognize this as multifactorial and go after correcting all factors
stats for X please
hello teach :)
xe5/20
good morning all
hi teach
gm wv
I think its a gas?
yes
my m-i-l was hospitalized last week due to medication conflicts.she has 3 or 4 different doctors and never fills her scrips at the same place.she will fill them at wal-mart,at hosp pharmacy,or whatever town she is in for the day
and good morning everyone
hi crossy :) *hugs*
((sprite))
thnx red - was trying a 4 letter word
hi crossy
howdy annie
my m-i-l had problems with low potasswium levels - get disoriented, lethargic
we fill all ours at same place and once or twice a med was "red flagged" as conflicting with something already in place.the pharmacy then phones the doc, changes are make and we are good to go
I always read the information for my meds before taking them the first time. Glad I do, because on4 I was taking a tincture that would have made me very will together with the new anti depression meds.
very ill*
inded teach they will have to give her something to maintain the proper levels
Hi Cross. I think its a very good idea to get all your meds ffrom one place...
me too
indeed red,we use the ida pharmacy chain here and every med is recorded on the computer and cross checked when a new med is added or one removed
hagd, everyone! off to make brekkies and then ready for work.

Hi Scrabbs :)
hi scrabs!
How are you and Bobby?
Hi Sue.
scrabbs, We are fine and you?
Annie, tell Bobby that RA DIckey was on NPR on Friday afternoon, being interviewed about being a knuckleball-throwing pitcher.
I am relaxing on my back deck overlooking my gardens and the trees. Mamma raccoon was taking her youngsters, 4 of the 8, on a stroll a short time ago.
Scrabbs, He loves R A Dickey. He told me he pitched another shutout the other day. I marvel at him. Dickey wrote a book..I might get it on Amazon
Oh, yes, the talk was about his book. He sounds like a very sweet man.
He had a horrible childhood.
He did?
I read the first pages on Amazon...I wanted to get the book for one of my grandkids but I thought it was a little too graphic for him. I didnt get past dickey's 8 th year. I think I will hold off on buying the book. will ask my daughter about it.
The sc5 from your deck must be heavenly.

Oooh! I have watermelon in the fridge.....
I just tried to find a pic of Eeyore with an American flag for the holiday...didn't find one, but came across a VERY alarming one of Pooh carrying a severed Eeyore head.
But we have Wegmans--the ultimate supermarket! It has excellent selections, especially produce.

We will be above 80-85 for the next week. I am not complaining. We wish for this in the winter.
I think we are one of the few countries that have a national day that actually celebrates the birth of the nation.
A recent survey asked 6 prominent U.S. politicians to name the country they would be most likely to save in an emergency (nuclear fallout; that kind of thing). Not one mentioned Canada.
Hi godthaab!
I would save Canada...it is beautiful!

Hi Erda!
hi car
bet they all went for Switzerland where all their $ is stashed
I don't have it yet Erda, but I will help you look.
Even though the U.S. is Canada's best friend, I don't think it works the other way around. Remember when Bush was thanking all the countries of the world for helping after 9/11, he "forgot" to mention Canada.
Hi pugmama!

hi pug
Every week, car! :-) No, the talk is being given by a lay member (which is fine, we are partially lay-led anyway) but her title is Making Good Medicine: Old Wisdom for New Times and I am afraid it is all going to be about how wonderful herbs are and how bad modern medicine is (I know this lady) and I am going to spend the whole time biting my tongue
That's too bad. Alternative medicine definitely has it's place in healing.
Oh boy. Maybe she will surprise you and it will be about making the church a spiritually healing place.
anyway it starts in 15 minutes and I need a shower so I'd better run. see you all later!

Happy first day of July
to you too, Aloy - I'm enjoying it so far, in spite of predicted way too hot temps, it's cloudy and not really so bad
plus our daughter, her BF, and his two boys have left for a few days with his dad, lovely peace and quiet... ahhhh....
hope to get some outside work done today but will give it up if it is too hot
still plugging away at the new bedroom window trim and baseboards, progress is slow but steady. hope to be moved into it by the end of the week. then we can go to work on the old one (ceiling sheetrock falling, not good.)
oh - major work.. one thing leads to another. I remember hubs bought a new toilet at Sears after we moved in, went to install it and discovered he had to replace most of the flooring too! wonder the old one didn't fall into the basement, lol.. gotta love old houses
haha, I hear that! our toilet has a bit of a tilt, beginning to worry me. hopefully will be okay till we move it to another room, all part of the master plan.
want to paint trim pieces before installing, but it's so humid... fear it won't dry. will put the fan on it, and try anyway.
hello again
bigger problem right now is that every time I try to cut a nice miter corner on the littler trim pieces with my saw, it chips out a bit of wood. grrr. they get shorter and shorter, lol
hiya, ruby! (((hugs)))
that sounds funny rbud but probably isn't
I anybody else watching the Tour de France?
I think I need a finer-toothed saw blade, maybe, going to ask hubs when he quits napping
I had a big argument in lexulous the other night with my opponent calling Lance a skunk (and worse). It atruck me funny
like the leaning tower of Pisa rbud?
oh, is it on?
hi all, rbud to help prevent chipping, put a piece of masking tape acrooss the line you will be cutting on or sandwich the piece between two scrap thin plywood or cardboard, (tips from my step dad the scroll-sawer:)
yesterday was the prologue in Liege and today it was still in Belgium
I love it!
and tonight is Italy v. Spain for the European Cup. It is too funny that DH isn't a sports fan
that's a good idea, yarn lady, hadn't thought of that. thanks! might save me pulling out some hair, lol
I've used the tape trick when cutting frames .... it does work ..... Hi everyone !
hi diane
wonder if blue painter's tape will work, have lots of that
hi rubyfoo :-)
hope it works for you, I need to get back to my crafting now, good luck on the grid, I've only found 59 so far
I feel like a sloth compared to all of you
yes rbud.... that is what we mean..... especially if your wood is finished, use the easy release painter's tape
thanks, ladies! :)
just had an epiphany............ was telling daughter about something that shipped to me in a box from the us postal service... told her that the box was sturdy and i will use it for storage..... and she said and the neat thing is, they are free<<<<<<<<<<<< the postal service has these boxes for FREE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> no wonder these assholes are broke.. another shining example of our government at work !
oh, don't feel bad, ruby, it's taken years to get the room this far, haha, I'm a master at procrastination
yw,we're just all cut-ups at heart
that is crazy, mom
I like the idea of the tilting toilet, however!
I've made a batch of jam this morning.... got me off the "sloth list" :-) It's Canada day, but overcast and raining... I hope it clears for our local celebrations in the park !
it's true, the PO offers a selection of sizes for free, offer is on a postcard sent to my library about twice a year
what kind of jam, diane?
just got a bunch of free energy efficient bulbs from the electric company, too, nice of them.
rhubarb-cherry .... the jars are just "pinging" now. .... can't waste this lovely rhubarb
I never thought of that combination - just w/strawberries.
(the really funny part of the tilting toilet is that it's that way AFTER we reinforced the floor under it, lol, hubs and his patch jobs!) :P
how old is the house, rbud?
maybe do butt exercises with just one cheek to build it up for balance rbud?
got a bunch of free jellies from the family reunion a couple of weekends ago, one of the uncles makes them - nice flavors like "lilac infusion" and "sweet corn cob" they are interesting!
house is maybe 100 years old, they say.
heehee, ru, exercise? what's that? ;p

normally I just google it...But today I am being a bit lasy.
stats for the 2nd column, second e down, pls
Hi Bich
I think that E is spooky
I had to google it too. But that was ok. no biggie. I'm obviously not as good as Molly in coming up with the awesome clues. She rocks!
Hi Molly. What's doing in the heat capital of the East Coast?
It's gross outside. I miss fresh air.
thanks Molly
We just had a brief thunder storm. Cooled things down a bit
I would love some rain but I imagine most others here would differ.
This area really took a huge hit from the Friday night storms. I am so grateful that we were not affected.
lots of people out of power...
We were without power for 3 days [one of the lucky ones] after the October snowstorm. I'd rather be without power in the fall than in a heatwave
we were with out power for 16 days a few years ago... thank goodness we had a generator!
16 days without internet?
In NC, we had this freak ice storm back in about 2002 or so, we were out of power for 2 weeks. But the phone service was on, so I had dial up. Took the puter to work every day and charged it. Good to work at hospital...
wow, I have 59 left, I think they took off for cooler climes.
I have been through extended power outages in the heat and the cold and I would rather the cold. It's easier to get warm than it is to get cool.
I would agree with that, plus its easier to keep food cold, you just put it outside.
We stayed in the kitchen [can close off from rest of house] with a fire in the fire place. Was liveable
I could live 16 days without internet. 16 days without hot water is another thing entirely.
with 79 words i am stumped. totally.
hello everyone :)
