we are having some pretty awesome thunder and lightning cells coming through---not normal for the pac NW!
you got them all now?
fw;s and hello * emerges out of lurk mode*
that was one thing I missed when coming from Ontario to the west coast mccurl
missing 2 still I have in4 x 2 in6, in7 in5 irx2
hi rose, how are you doing?
i keep trying gremlin
hi grannyrose and mcurlschool - we hardly ever have thunderstorms now compared to twenty years ago - that's climate change for you
oh, and WTG rose
I'm pretty sure one lightning strike hit a tree not far away as all the sudden we could smell fresh fir smoke! Scouser--it is almost like being in So. Carolina or Florida except it's not warm enough!
hi flosey, still weepy at times, i know it's the meds. but have also begun a new exercise which really hurts
I'ts been nearly 2 hours and the weather report is for several hours more.
jenny in6 part of shoe in7 on coast
ah, very understandable though rose, good luck with the exercises - don't push it too hard
thanks very much
mccurl - there are some awesome videos on YouTube of storms.
and you, flosey, how are you?
They are nice to watch but it's just not the same as being "in" one!
pretty good thanks rose, had back molar pulled this morning - was quite nervous about it but it was a breeze
btw, the 'new' exercise is on the stationary bike. can't do the full rotation(cycle), so just go forward as far as i can, then backward as far as i can.
good start rose,
ooowwww!!!!! you must have a good dentist for you to say it was abreeze
indeed not! 1981 was last really big one with g4/9 hail and pitch dark at 6pm in June!
he is great rose, thankfully
that was for mccurl - not for the teeth. There is a bit of a delay in the chog I think
speaks with a south african accent which I find interesting
he talks and jokes as he works
i recently changed my dentist and now have the loveliest lady dentist. she is so gentle
we'll get a little lightning now and again during the winter but nothing like this during the summer! I hate to go to bed and miss the light show!
mine started with a woman and guess she found she had too much for one, there are now the 2
lol, scouser, could be quite amusing
mcurls, i remember a summer storm we had a few years back, lightning flash, followed immediately by thunder clap, right over our roof....it shook the windows and all
tonight the thunder clap and lightning have been at the same time more than separate---really different but still great to watch
my dad taught us to count, one one thousand, two one thousand etc between lightning flash and thunder clap. he said it indicated how far away the storm actually was.
each one thousand being equal to 1 mile
same here rose - still do it today !!
same here but to close for that. I think it's finally gone through another pass over so I think I'll head to bed before the next round starts in. Good night friends!
HEY!!!! IS EVERYONE SITTING DOWN? my hubby is actually in the kitchen, washing the fl5
night mcurl, sleep well, hun
WOW, LUCKY ROSE
nice!
hello urshy
lucky you, rose
ahem, are you taking notes, cos?
my, isn't quiet....everyone gone to get partners and show them how the aussies do it?
went to get something to eat
no rose - waiting for hub to finish cooking up a storm in the kitchen then will tidy up after him - can you send yours over ?
good morning everybody
hi glant
hi glant
lol rose... naw ryan doesnt let me do that
lol, sure urshy, any time, as so4 as i've finished with him
morning glant
then lucky cos......
oh how I'd love to hear those words cos
now he's steam cleaning, after mopping it. one thing is for sure, he's thorough
wow rose, he sure is a gem
oh, when you and cos have finisjhed with him i'd like to borrow him rose
shhhhh, flosey, not so loud. he might hear you, and get distracted
i have all the equipment LOL just nobody but me to use is
*it
I do have a lady come in alternate weeks, for 4 hours, she's a big help
i must admit, i have been very neglectful of fl6 for the last 14 months or so. it as i could do, go out to work, crawl back in front door, just do the basics, like washing, ironing, dishes, shopping
I must get to bed, 35 to go, have to be in the Market in the Park at 7:40 tomorrow morning
night flosey
night, flosey, sleep well, hun, and see you at the flip
goodnight Glant, good luck, thanks rose, see you then
glant, just popping out to check some emails, will duck in and out. if you need a clue, just yell.
i amy well need a clue soon - see you later rose
im still around
pleased to hear it cos - have all the fires well and truly gone nw?
okay, you too, cos, as if i realky have to explain. will always vbe here for you, if needed
Yes. All is calm and serene now!
glad to hear it
hope all is well for you btoh too :)
i am fine, just flat broke for the next 5 months as i am having to replace all my windows and external dors
ahh we're broke too but thats because we're poor lol
nice people who sold the house to me had drilled tiny holes in the corners of each window so that it didn;t show that all the seals had gone by havuing condensation in the double glazed panels and the windows are too old to just replace the glass
well I'm not exactly rich LOL
and anyways, you are too young to have bult up your fortune yet :-)
true true... hoepfully within 10 years ill have a house and be in debt
that's my problem, but at least i no longer have a mortgage to worry about as well!
nice job. my MIL will always be in mortage. she keeps buying a house then selling it after a year.
ive known her for 8 years and shes lived in 8 houses
but does she make a profir each time, cos?
i am fixing american english in my brain more and more each day as i babble - there are words you commonly use which are not used here and so aren;t really in my consciousness - like tu4/6 which has taken me 5 minutes of monkeying to find LOL
* profit*
lol... i never thought of that
the legal fees must be horrendous for her - is she really unhalppy
so can' t stay in one place?
she gets bored i guess
expensive form of beredom LOL
if she finds one flaw.. its time to mvoe
money is not an object to her.
and she rubs it in our faces constantly :(
over here, you can buy a house, mortgage and all, then after 12 months sell it, at a profit, and pay no capital gains tax, because it is over 12 months since you bought
I'm not entirely sure i hvae bought the right house but the thought of the $4500 legal fees cost to move would put me off looking for soemthing else for quite some time LOL
oh, lovely, cos. could spit in her eye, i bet.
woo hoo found in7 on my own
we don't pay capital gains tax on property here unless we don;t live in the property
well done cos
have you found hi7 - hairy?
yay cos, well done
i found the 8 on my own - was delighted
no looking now
it means hairy?
posh word for hairy - he was hi*****
if i listed the 7's, would that be a welcome help?
be more help if you clued some of the Us ot TUs LOL
got it thanks glan
it's always the short words that stump me
un4, 5, 6, 5....ut5, 5, 6
me too usually
tu4, tu + part of verb to be
an6 lease?
tu4, tu + **t me in, said the wolf
ty rose
an6, an + h**(male) + not them but **
thanks rose
tyvm rose
then tu4/5, fish
how did i miss that LOL
tu4, plural word, vats or casks
tu4/6, your behind
or tu + quiet
that's the word we don;t use in UK so i always miss it
took me ages to monkey it today LOL
fhe first fl7?
dutch
brb, going to do an abbreviated version of my exercises. just can't face the bike
what thye were called before thye were dutch LOL
dutch?
technically a mixture of duch and belgian
hmmm
fl7, fl + printers measure, not en + third vowel + quiet
there was a group of pmedieval painters known as the fl7 school (I think)
the beginning sounds like what you have in your nose and throat when you have a cold
ah got it
first part sounds like the alt word for cattarrh
thanks!
hi hursh
hi
hey hursh
3rd fl7 is old british coinage pl
now i'm gonna do those exercises

yummy pb and j sandwiches
how did you get in there cos?
lol oh not in there. peanut butter adn jelly
*takes cos some welsh cakes*
aaahh...
see, there's another americanism - we call them pb and jam sandwiches (not that many people eat them here)
i love them with wholemeal bread and raspberry jam
please clear this up for me...jelly, jam....same as conserves?
yes, but in uk there must be a high percentage of fruit to sugar to call it a conserve
yeah i think so
and have you ever tried peanut butter and honey sandwiches?
no. i prefer peanutbutter and banana sandwiches
and jelly is either a cpmpletely clear and lump free conserve or it is a pudding hich the US folks call jello
never tried pb and honey - only banana and honey
tastes like peanut brittle
never tried pb and banana either - i obviously haven't lived LOL
we call gelatin jello
u know whats delicious? a grilled PB and banana sandwich. same concept as grileld cheese but use PB and bananas
haven't had breakfast but you're both giving me ideas LOL - shame i have no bananas
so what do you call the setting agent in jello Cos?
Afternoon all
not sure
we have flavoured commericla jelly which you just add boiling water to - either powder or block
gelatine is the setting agent in US jello
jelly is fruit perserves, jam is similar
ah we call that jelly "jello"
well seeing as both bread and peanut butter, jam/jelly, and honey are not on my diet plan, guess i'll have to wait a whiles before i try it
old fahioned folk like me also use gelatin to add to things to mkae home made jellies 0 which are much nicer
hey lyn
F's finished!
hi lyn
i love jello mixed with cool whip
yay cos
Hi Rose - weather lousy but I guess that makes you happy to be inside. How is it all going?
now i've gotta ask....cool whip?
OK cos - i'll bite - what is cool whip? sounds like some kind of sex game LOL
the stuff u put a dallop on pumpkin pie
whipped cream in an aerosol can isn't it?
we would use whipped cream for that if we ate pumpkin pie
cool whip is a brand name. whipped cream is the right term
not so bad, lyn, have added stationary bike into exercise list....not liking it at all
cool whip comes in a tub and aresol can
we hve the aerosol variety but not tub kind
i prefer to whip my own because i'm a sadist LOL
thanx cos. saves my scalp from a lot of scratching
ugh is it thanksgiving yet
oh wait only Americans have that
tue!
and i don;t think anybody else on the planet would consider deep frying a whole turkey
oh i dont want to try that. i prefer my turkey baked
we all have big deal Xmas instead
so do we
xmas is bigger here. thanksgiving is the first official day of the xmas season
apparently ti's the best way to have turkey - well, that's what my friend in florida says
*********fireworks*********
deep fried turkey???what a waste!
thats why the macy parade always ends with santa in his sleigh
that was a royal we - generally what the UK does we do too
wtf tiJ!
actually we have deep fried chicken portions here in fish and chip shops and they are lovely so i guess it would be goo
WTG TIJANI!!!!
Congrats Tijani!
woo hoo tijan
we have kentucky fried shops here. too greasy for me nowadays
I think the trick is to get the oil hot enough so it cooks and crisps without the meat absorbning the oil
sh
our fried chicke doesn';t have any coating
there has been too many bad stories about kentucky here for me to even contemplate going to them
i feel dumb for askingbut the first gr4 please
used to love ot!!!! and so did my waist-line....which i am now just re-discovering
HEY NONO!!!!!
g4 - really dreadful;
dire
ugh i thoght i typed that in already thanks
i've been looking at 1st me4 for ages and am determined not to ask LOL
lol now ive gotta find it
glant, short version of blackbird
found it - never seen iot before
found it!
and we don;t uise that word for blackbird
probably what the kiddos called the great wizard as a kid
another uS english thing
I thought it was the coloring on some dogs - a variant of the spelling
actually its Scot
it may be scot but it's not in common usage
down to last 40 - off for breakfast - happy babbling all
bye Glant
later, glant, enjoy, see you at the flip
good morning
hey ruby
{{rose}}
stealing a couple of minutes
how are you feeling?
how are you feeling?
hi Ruby
sunshine is belying the weather forecast and there is a fleamarket in the village
{{lynxx}}
{{lynxx}}
<-- loves fleamarkets as I have a collection of blue and white tableware, many of the odds and ends purchased that way
sounds like a perfect day coming up for you Ruby
ruby, still a bit weepy. have added the bike to exercise regimen. hurts like hell. will persist. it is on advice from physio
and the Tour this afternoon "Come on Cadel!!!"
should it hurt that much Rose? Maybe you are rushing things a little?
hey ruby, sounds like your perfect day
snap for lynxx and rose!!!
ruby, just taking it slowly. can't do a full rotation, so going forwards and backwards as far as i can bear
you will sur**ly gain mobility, but the thought of you crying while exercising is heartbreaking!
poor Rose
gotta do it...and before either of you even think it....PLEASE DO NOT SAY no pain, no gain. i will probably scream if i hear it once more
lol
haha, ruefully!
Are you walking very far Rose?
I don't agree with that theory. I was a runner for a long time, eased into it very gradually (at 42!) and never had pain or residual effects.
telos
loos
sorry
Thanks Ruby :)
lyn as far as i can manage without too much discomfort. i do try to limit myself, but sometimes when out shopping.....
hi, spanner, when I get worked up (lol), I forget where to write
hey spanner
Terrific that you can get around a bit already though - you must feel more human!
shopping? you are amazing!
hi Spanner
Hi all, sneaking a quick 5 minutes while its quiet at work....
Taking a break for a bit - BBL
I've tried mu**tta twice and thought it was a bullfighting word!
Bye
the horrible sicks they use to poke the bulls....
lol, ruby, do you really think i would trust Don out on his own? with my credit card? he can't help himself. if he sees something he wants, even if it's not on the list, he buys it....and i pay for it!!!!!
oh no! Burt doesn't deviate from the list; he knows he's get stuck with aforementioned mu7
later spanner
uh oh, speaking of B., I'd better go
rofl, i think i need one of those
{{rose}}
later, ruby, at the flip
Later - i am having a good day - just found 2 7's without any clues LOL
ya ya, spanner, I found the 8!
I wouldnt expect anything less Ruby ;)
hahah
(but only one 7 :(
night to all of you, dear friends
I am still nul at this game!
sleep well, sweet rose
Night Rose, wishing you well x
bye spanner
Bye ruby x
whoo! nbt in 20! off to a great start!
good morning Babble friends :)
jeezzz... how wordcrazy one has to be for si4/5 to be her first word?
Does any of you know the link to get version 12 of babble please
hi oggy, let me check
oggy, I cannot find a link. I can send you the expert if you want though
my email addy is in my profile... send me an email and I send you the expert back
gm sprite, how are you?
Thanks Sprite, just sent you an email xx
lol I just sent it and it won't go... suspicious message, it says! I will upload it so you can download it, hold on.
and hi kje, am well, and you?
well
quick babble for 3 more minutes then must get to work
glad you are well, and sorry you have to go so s04, but happy to see you :D
oggy, you will get an email from WeTransfer with a download button and link.
this is a fun grid, but lots of individual words, not a lot of building despite the 2 s's and er
yes indeed. A work grid.
ok, must go with 65 left for later
hagd spritey!
you too, kje, I hope work will be fun and rewarding
oggy, the email should have arrived now. Let me know whether all goes well.
hello
anybody still here?
just struggled up the hill from the village, after lunch, because there was a little fleamarket in the "mairie". No customers!
hey ruby :)
{{sprite}}
oh my... none at all? How sad. Did you get something good from the market?
it was a long way up! many stops, leaning on fences and walls
Back. Hi Sprite! and so did you get any blue and white crockery Ruby?
found two little boxes, for my collection -- both round, one carved wood and the other Chinese porcelain
aw ruby :( Yes I know how that feels.
hi lyn :) xxx
yes I did, lynxx, one tiny round covered porcelain box!
oh nice, ruby!
lovely!
and I bargained blushing), got the prices down from 12 euros to 10! Disgusting, but necessary
this market was half the size of previous years
oh WOW! Wtg ruby! I just cannot bargain, I totally s*ck at that. You rock.
question: why isn't 'florish' a word? As in proper?
it is awful that I do that; it's one of the reasons that husband wont go shopping with me. But, if you pay the "list" price, they think you're a fool!
a flourish - as in a bow or sweep of a hat perhaps?
With our new car (not to be delivered until Aug or Sept, I couldn't bargain that!), I reduced the price by 3,000 euros
ahhhh of course, that is it. Thanks lyn. One of my brain's weird hiccups.
I think that the "bargaining" is buiilt into the price
I think so too Ruby...but don't try it in Australia
yes that is the word, it can also mean to thrive.
of course unless that is all you have in your purse at the time
or, probably, in the UK (or, for that matter, in the US)
nor in the Netherlands, though you may try it on fleamarkets. But I once was in Tunesia an there you have to, or you will pay 3 times the real worth at least.
so I didn't buy a single thing there, lol. I just cannot bargain. Makes me feel so... I don't know...
I have surprised myself recently by returning faulty goods (I never would have bothered when I was working and had lots of $s to spare) It is just not an issue to get satisfaction
in Arab countries, it's "de rigeur", but many people have a lot of trouble doing it. After we re-did our house, I discovered, once we were here, that you could get any price reduced aT least 10%.
funny word in here, go5 and pl, for a scary clay monster
TY
hebrew, I think
I like that word :)
I'd like to put one in my garden!
How is your Ruby - is she responding well to medication?
A blockhead is one definition .... good term for my congressional delegation
yes, she seems much better. Still doesn't want to walk in the street, but is eating well and breathing easier. I was so worried and will be grateful if we have a bit more time with her
hi BR
blockhead is a def on go5? Very funny. There must have been some Jewish legislators
Hello
Hello BR - a very popular insult here in the 50 & 60s
hey BabbleRabble, glad to see you
go, lynxx?
Hello, sprite
hello all
looks like you will, ruby. Am so glad she responds well.
help with the 8 pls
That is good Ruby, she needs to be around a bit longer to teach Rufie some manners
Hi, Lyn
Hi, peri
no, a blockhead Ruby
hi Peri
he is learning fast. Now he's training me to do tricks!
{{peri}}
has he stopped nipping you yet?
those are beautiful old faces you are putting up as icons the last 2 days, BabbleRabble.
hi peri :) It is what a butterflies does in your stomach when you are in love.
ty spritey
yes, which is lucky because now his teeth are 1" long and a nip would require hospitalization. I can see him thinking about it, but he licks instead
lol yes... when I was there, Rufie refused to do his trick of going after a ball, but he made rubyfoo do it a lot of times ;)
yvw peri
he does a double somersault, but only if you don't have company!
and could Terra smell Rufie on your clothing Sprite?
it's like getting a baby to talk in front of his gram!
well he IS a chow. If he feels you expect him to do a trick, he won't. Actually, Terra is the same. not a chow, but still headstrong, gr4.
Rufie loved sprite, as did Ruby
oh yes, lyn! He was all over me when I came home. Happy to see me, and very curious about the dog smells on me.
and Ruby is VERY selective!
I was amazed and honored. I arrived at Ruby's, and Ruby (the dog) sniffed my hand and then licked it. And I had clean hands :)
nice to see that the whole family loved you Sprite
(I did, too, lol)
but the big surprise was husband, who is even more selective than the pup
it was mutual, lyn. It was even better in real life as through the internet.
ah yes but we know he is an old womaniser
yes... but ruby's husband did NOT sniff or lick my hand, I promise.
operant word "old"
lol
oh yes, he is a charmer! And incredibly intelligent.
and has good taste - especially in wives!
interesting that le5?14 and lo5/10 are both in here.
amen to that
no. 4 is a charm! lol
yes it is an animalistic grid, lol
ruby is amazing when it comes to taking care of her loved ones, btw. One couldn't be in better hands.
as long as I don't lick and sniff! lol
*giggles* No, you didn't. We hugged a lot. Nothing worse :)
ok I greyed out the F. Couldn't believe at first that there were 17 words from that! But there are.
finally found the mu**ta; I was putting in two t's
lol... go ruby, spell it out for us ;)
for sticking the toro
:)
Although “hairbrained†is common, the original word “harebrained†means “silly as a hare†(the little rabbit-like creature) and is preferred in writing.
ty, BR, for the tidbit
I like that. Stored away in my brain vault under spelling tidbits!
you prefer harebrained writing?
lol
sm5 for hug too hard should be allowed!
I agree.
yay, half, nbt and nbs but no newspaper today, just fireworks tongith (which dogs hate!)
was your tidbit inspired by hi7, BabbleRabble?
wtg ruby
ooh, ty, sprite
yvw ;)
ahh TY, took me a bit longer
:)
phantom: sorghum
that is a good phantom
new babble adage: where there is a housekeeping instrument, there is also a seaweed (too obscure?)
not as good as molly's
I missed molly's. What was it?
where there is betting, there is also a volcano
ah nice :D
I so want mu4room to be there
GOING TO GET ON THE BIKE ALTHOUGH TODAY WILL BE DULL
sorry, didn't mean to shout
such excitement :)
not!
no horse in the race any more
*giggles* Even when the tour is not fun, you can still enjoy the peace and quiet of the you-time :)
except that now, you-know-who watches and makes snide remarks.....
give him something to do :D Ask him to find something out from his books for you. Should keep him occupied for hours.
I am finished for the night - Goodbye x
{{lynxx}}
night lyn, enjoy your evening and sleep well xxx
*poof*
bye ruby, have fun
fireflies. Bye all!
h
mornin' Babblecommunityfolks
morining bichon :)
We actually got a little rain this AM
Did it get cooler?
No rain here as yet.
It was just a shower, just enough to wet things down until the sun came out. Didn't really affect the temps for the day
Enough to give the lawn and flowers a shower.
We got that kind of rain too. But there is more on the horizon.
Good morning, Molly
Not enough to really help the garden. I've resorted to using the water from the basement dehumidifyer on some plantings
I've discouraged hubby from mowing in a drought
Bacon and eggs, fresh fruit and croissants on the sideboard for all.
Molly, the perfect breakfast...thank you. *digs in*
Hubby made waffles this AM. Yummy
I have the best waffle recipe. You beat the egg whites stiff, which makes the waffles lightly crispy. And there is cinnamon in the recipe. They smell so good when they are in the waffle iron.
He usually uses buttermilk, but I forgot to get some at the store
I use buttermilk powder. That keeps a lot longer than buttermilk and I only use buttermilk in certain recipes.
I agree, but I'm not the one making it. Love buttermilk bread.
He is a good guy to make you breakfast, Bich.
During the week we each make our own. I like hot cereal all year round. He is the weekend breakfast cooker.
bbs
sounds lovely. morning all
Morning, Owl, How are you?
fine, and you, annie?
pretty good, thanks
morning all!
Hi TO
Hi Sue
hi sue
hi sue, i molly. sorry, distracted
hi molly, annie, TO!
there is breakfast food in this grid. well, porridge
Please sir, may I have some more?
with 57 to go, i have been reduced to making up words. and the sad thing is, they actually ARE words.
Yes, that is the way with Babble.
gl6/27., "one who gl4/7s" ridiculous.
Agreed
and to add insult to injury, don't forget to plural it.
name that proper noun...old time actress, Miss Young
Morning babblers!!!
Loretta
Red! How are you?
morning red
ding ding dong!!
give molly..er, what would you like, molly?
I dreamed about a babble grid last night with about 6 13 letter workds....
good dream or nightmare, red?
Um, I think it's a red flag when you start dreaming about Babble : D
oh my. is that because you left the grid unfinished?
It was an ok dream.
did you find them?
I recently started to take singulair at night and I think I am sleeping better because i can actualy breathe....my nose and lungs are doing better.
Morning friends
I have been on line in a supermarket and all of a sudden I find a word...
Nope I did not. Hi Mr Bob. How is everyone on this Saturday!
Not being able to breathe at night makes for a crappy night's sleep. Ask anyone with apnea.
Annie, are you remembering the grid or??
i haven't been sleeping well because of a sinus infection and why do i have a sinus infection? i didn't clean the AC filters!
yes. simple congestion makes me miserable. i cannot imagine
crossy hates his cpap machine:( good morning all
shirl: can one clean them vice replace them?
Hi Shirl! I am a maniac about those filters, but I just went to a new Doctor and apparently my allergies are far worse than I imagined.
I had a neighbor burn out the compressor in his AC unit because he forgot the change the filters for months.
Sometimes I can see parts of the grid when I am not at the computer...oh dear, should I be concerned? LOL
absolutely! wash them with warm water and soap
Yes Annie. : D
then dry BEFORE putting back in, is what i did
Annie, I think that is wonderful!
a bit icky but easy to do
I think Shirl, there are some types of washable filters and then some less expensive disposible ones.
even if they are disposable? because a new filter is on my to do list.
I've never seen washable filters. Only the disposable kind.
perhaps if I put on a mask and peel the dust off...becuase i know mine is bad
dunno about that, mine are ptac units so i just assume they're washable
I have to say, I think it would be worth the 16.00 to get a new filter.
wht is a ptac unit?
According to what I just read, they have to be the washable kind. With a metal frame.
ooooh. You know I just realied many of your guys are using window units?
Not me. Central air. Maybe that is the difference.
the probelm is climbing a ladder to check and them to install. i am pretty short and need to clim fairly high, the filter is in the ceiling.
I have central air as well. My mother does take the filter stuff out of her window units and wash and dries it...
ptac unit = both heat and ac, not quite central air, i'm in a condo
Red, a ptac is like the air conditioning unit you see in a hotel room.
I need to clean the spokes on my ceiling fan, and like you temple owl, I dont want to fall.
ooooh.
this has been a very educational morning!
i always learn something here!
and there's si5 in the grid, relevant to this convo!
use a swiffer on the fan red...works great
It depends on how high they are. I was going to suggest an extended-arm duster, but I don't think those will work on fans in 12 ft ceilings.
but you can use a step stool and not be as high...just take your time
lots of critters in this grid... a int in parting to everyone! happy babbling I am off to do errands
Bye TO
bye Owl, stay cool
i think those swiffer dusters that bend would be doable if you are average height.
the filter with the cardboard edges are disposable, the others types are probably washable.
Can I admit, I usually clean with with soap and water. they are pretty caked, because I tend to leave the door open...
bye! *poof*
There
there's probably a filter to clean/change in your vacuum cleaner too.
and another in the cpap machine.
Fish
Chicken Nuggets!
fireworks.
Well don Mixi
Or well done
congrats, mixi!
Yaaay Mixi!
I guess I read too much Harry Potter. I was so certain that floo was a word, I tried about three time!
lol, hj
Good morning everyone!
Hi Car
Hi All
Hi Molly!
hi car. and jane

Hi Annie! Hi Hego!

Yep
It's like the Romper Room lady, seeing everyone through her magic mirror.
and you are just in time car:)) it is now time for crossy,s tidbit of the day!!
LOLOL
Hi Crossy! Yeah!
The “mystery flavor†Dum-Dum Pop is truly random. The Spangler Candy Company combines the last of their flavorings at the end of a production run to turn out lollipops of mixed (and mysterious) flavors.
UH hI cROSSY
howdy hego
I always liked the "Mystery" Pop!
And if she didn't see you, you were left to wonder if you were a "Don't Bee"
Yummm...ru 4....Arrrgh!
hi, folks (my favorite dum-dum was coconut-pineapple)
Hi Welki
howdy welki
Hi welki!
Yah! I remembered the little french case!
ty car
This is a bugger of a grid, I can tell....
I think so too
Any joggers on?
I have managed NBT somehow though....
If you did something kind of bad, but not really, wouldn't that action be sinnish?
lol
The Catholics would tell you YES
If goodish is a word, then sinnish should be too. So there.
is goodish a word?
Yep
dang!
i used to have that problem as a child cr.small sins.once i wanted a a 3 speed bike they were the newest thing.i prayed and prayed, but god never responded, but then in a flash of insight i saw his mighty wisdom in things so the very next day i stole a bike and just prayed for forgiveness instead;)
I think I just found a word to describe myself.
The Puritans would say you are a goodish woman, Hego. : D
lol Crossy
Good grief Crossy!
God helps those who help themselves. lol
sorry car,could not resist
agree Molly
And I found the 8. My day is complete.

Oh, BR. : )
a theodolite used in tracking missiles and satellites
mmm..was in the kitchen putting some bacon on and i saw they have changed the packaging,it now has a resealable top to return unused bacon to the fridge and to help keep it fresh...UNUSED bacon to RETURN to the fridge??? i never knew such a scenario could happen, well i have never seen it here anyways..maybe they also make 5 pund packages and made the wrappers universal across the line..quite odd...unused bacon....
Help for the the first in7,32 please?
that's like leftover wine.

i have been warned *turns pale*

hmmm must be something other than the pl money
og6?
don't have it shirl
I agree Nan. But then I complained about a word yesterday and was lectured on what a "normal" word it was. So go figure.
yes jmc -- language spoken in Belgium
o6 is like Shrek
pl og5?
thx molly
ah well then i agree cyber even if it is used to describe a painting school
first mu6?
*Wonders why JMC is hiding behind me*
crossy warned me so i am afraid of him
mu6 - something new produced by change
ty haz
Good morning/afternoon all.
haha, I saw the warning, too, jmc, but you have to read all crossy's fb posts for this AM to get the whole story.
got that mu
ah well i will do that later then
*comes out from behind molls*
You've maybe got the second which is the verb.
it did look a bit ominous, I agree...
sorry..did it post wrong?? there were 3 posts regarding that got gold scam
The first ends in a picnic pest insect thing.
crossy looks out for us all, so nice of him! :D
got both of those, there's another mu6 before them
oh okay glad to hear it. . . i have no intention of paying to play anywhere but here
The first mu6 I have is ass + British thanks

okay i need a u word and the corner n word for nbt so i can go write a paper
One of my favorite scene in Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back is when they go on the ass kicking tour.
And I will duck out now and come back when I'm not getting slammed.

wonder how puppy on heart meds is doing?
doubt it'll be very well attended
my son is doing a study abroad in Paris and was excited to celebrate Bastille Day there but as of yesterday he said they were predicting rain all day. He's very disappointed
Not so good for watercolours?
lo 7, please?
do they also have a Pastille day in France?
downtown dc there is a waiters run carrying i think champagne

Hello, ruru. How are you?

or in greece, they could have pastitsio day
this is one confusing grid
it is,give me too much time to chat.crossy is already in the babble dog house..woof!
it's so bad I'm making up words
and why not? enable does it all the time
we have a dog house on top of the PB?
quelf is so too a word!
hi Haz, long time. Hope you're having a good summer
Munnish is too
and Glutter
errggghh, you remind me, ru, I must buy filler for the library candy dish, that dish is responsible for about a third of my attendance count - all the town kids know it's there on my desk, lol!
yes,it was created just for me..woof!
Hello, bichon. We've had the wettest June since 1910 but at least we have no fear of sunstroke.
we are dry here now and have a total fire ban for the entire area
we've been hot and dry here haz.... could use just a drop of that rain
or waterrationing
what is the forecast, haz -- any improvement for the olympics?
I want gremlin to be in the grid
supposed to get up over 90f today
brb need to make a latte for mrs ru
I don't know, cybernan. It could hardly get any worse, but the incredibly bad weather (worse in England than over here) seems to be the result of a jetstream getting stuck. I don't know what's going to unstick it.
me too ru... me too!! (or i have to make my own!!
jet streams seem to be getting more and more stuck these days.
We've been getting news of the flooding on our tv
It's been really bad on the mainland - some localised flooding over here but nothing on the same scale as across the water.
we have also had a lot of rain and meltwater flooding along with landslides in BC. Three people lost in a mudslide 2 days ago.
How sad - property being destroyed is bad enough but for people to lose their lives is tragic.
or in Cos' area.. man-made disasters
<---has happy caffinated wife
mudslides are like avalanches -- no warning and the mud comes roaring down the mountain like a freight train, burying everything in it's path
still very uncaffeinated... heading into kitchen, was falling asleep at computer
wishes floosh would work
or hooglum
or lunish
Nobody can accuse you of lacking imagination.
lol
nope
well Haz.. your country certainly did Wimbledon proud
what a great show.. I though Murray played better than ever..he's going to get his championships soon
<-- also falling asleep at computer
It was good, wasn't it? I thought Andy Murray played well but when Federer is on form like that, it's poetry in motion.
I knew it was over once Murray's shoulders began to fall.
and princess Kate in the front row was wonderful eye candy.. she's beautiful
well .. he didn't have answers for Federer coming to the net
His serving was AMAZING (Murray)
I miss players coming to the net. So much is done from the back of the court.
133 mile per hour serves? Unvelievable
brb
Yes, but once his first serve started deserting him (Murray) it started unravelling.
I'm sure he'll win something eventually, just his misfortune to be competing with monumental talents like Federer, Nadal etc.
re 5/12, please? -- monkeys are getting tired
nm - just spotted them
my monkeys need coffee... brb
re5/12 - I didn't see the programme first but watched the re5/12
floorish should be a word too
not seeing those sn's -- monkeys have been doing a lot of work today
i just have three
how many are there?
and glumish
sn 5, 5l, 10 -- all 1 pt letters
I tend to hear two of those sn words.
having lemon curd.. God i love lemon curd
sn 5 sleeping sounds
lol haz
of course you don't?
Never.
ty ruru -- was off in the wrong direction
Okay, neverish.
*puts tape machine at Haz's house*
sn's done
of course anything on there other than sn5ing will be deleted haz
i've seen all of ru's imaginary words, and they are silly. but Fluish? that really is a word I have heard. When you aren't feeling well, but you know it really isn't the flu, you are feeling fluish
I have only found one ish word.. what a terrible waste of an ish
Think we lost haz
I think there are only two.
really?
and then again, there is that popular wine, merlo
damn.. need to find it
hint for the ish word, pls
ah you will, ru, i have faith
I love merlo
og6/27 - Shrek-like?
fl7
ooh! I didn't have that one Haz, ty
oh speaking of faith, my doorbell rang a little while ago, and it was those people walking around with bibles wanting to talk about faith. I told them i'm an atheist, they said oh really? I said "yes, and a Jewish atheist"... then they left me alone
ty Haz and nan
good one Dorens
fl7/48 - school of European painting
You're welcome.
never would have thought that was an acceptable word
aha, i actually had that one. but thanks haz
bichon, you know better than that... we try everything here
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for all the help everyone :)
well done, nan
woot! nan
Congratulations, cybernan.
off to get a cuppa -- brb to clue
"dorens,i just tell them i am into rooster worship a la j.d sallanger :)
it is what he put down on his writers guild card i think:)
ah, but i told the truth
lol,yes you did
ok,i am off for a power nap,so will chat to you all a bit later..ok molly all clear:)...poink
and speaking of jewish... there are so many words they do take, why not shul?
*amazed that haz knows about shrek*
It doesn't exist in the puzzle.
haha, so it doesn't haz... falling asleep again. my coffee hasn't entered my bloodstream yet, i guess
rooster worship.. I'd be worried all my eggs were in one basket
Try another version, Dorens, sh5/12
never be amazed by what haz knows, ru... she knows mucho indeed
thanks haz. (see ru?)
You can safely assume that I know zippo about science fiction.
hebrew school... which most of my classmates attended after school when i was a kid. but not me... atheist parents!
Dorens, I usually lurk but I have to chime in. We're the same as you, and my husband loves to engage people with bibles who ring our doorbell. He likes to see how far they'll go to convert him. He says it's good practice for them.
I'm with your husband! JW knockers are always good for an argument!
but then Ls..they just keep coming back.. they think they've made progress
anyone want clues?
I just answer the door with no clothes on and say" Yes .. what is it?"
I know ru, that's what I tell him, but he likes a good discussion.
that usually sends them back to the church for more prayer
you don't need to go that far -- just anser the door with an open bottle of wine in hand and take a slug
LOL NAN
and wipe your mouth off on your sleeve... .right?...lol
or offer to pass the bottle
lol
I'll try that.. we have active Jehovah around these parts
I met a very militant and dogmatic atheist who would try to convert the door-knockers.
who would want Latter Day Saints.. and not up-to-date saints anyways?
and here I thought you would convert, ru -- the men have a good thing going for them!
I don't know... hip and fashionable saints just seem wrong.
I am not a religious sort nan.. sorry
what to give up? -- wine or sex?
sorry i missed the conversation... phone call (my driveway has a sinkhole... lots of $$ to fix it)
well if it comes to that I won't give up either of those
sorry to here that, dorens
ls1 - I find that they really do want to talk and i DON"T
you could be very Mormon and give up coffee and chocolate!
i did love arguing when younger... and that was always a favorite topic... now i have more of the live and let live philosophy
and wine and beer -- but you could seven wives!
I'm with Dorens. Not a conversation I want to have.
I don't think they would let me have seven wives.
*have 7
4,000 for a driveway. not what i really want to spend it on
jeez.. I can't even handle one wife let alone 7
Wow... can't you just fill it with sand?
Or legos?
I guess not!
you could plant flowers there doren?
hello.
doesn't look like anyone needs clues, so I will be on my way.
Hi and bye m9
hi M9>>> wow.. all the great people are here today
it's basically where my car goes before entering my beloved garage... no, not really
bye nan.. congrats
<---- so happy to be one of the greats
beloved garage?
Hmmm... yes, but will you still love me even though I'm LDS?
this chat is way better than this grid.
if only in ru's mind
oh.. doren you are one of the all time greats here
Hi all
What's LDS?
hi hego// I was close to coming out west with you
<<<<<<<loves m9
(in your mind, ru, in your mind)
more and more fun people are coming and I need to leave! so sad...
oh, Dorens
Thanks hego!
hi hego
'lo Ru
bye viajes....have a great day!
by via and hi m9
oh come now Ru.. you can make fun at our expense and not know who we are?? ROFL!!
bye Vi
Hi Dorens
dorens, not coming then?
LDS = Latter Day Saints.
I was hoping for Ruru, but I guess that was too much to ask.
oh...
:-D
no, it's at the same time as my annual family vacation in martha's vineyard, otherwise i definitely would have done it... have never been north of California and would have flown out with you from newark, right?
A shovel, ruru?
right Dorens
For all that digging?
damn this foot is delicious
hi Haz
they just picked the wrong time. cause we could have done a quick flight down to SF before coming home and seen KJE and Ru. perfect vacation
Hello, hego.
yes, perfect!
'cause you feel like a heel??
sorry you can't come.
i am somewhat bummed out by it, actually
what are you talking about hego?
ah, sorry
Wow.. wish I could be bummed by going to Martha's VInyard!
seriously thinking about winging out to SF earlier in August however...
a meet up in Vancouver ruru.
oh.
BC?
hahahaha m9 -- good perspective
I am hoping I might be able to go.. I have to go to Washington this fall
yes
Via the Gorge Ru?
i have a friend from hs in Seattle and it would be nice to get there someday
Ruru i would love if you could come!!!
The friend is in hs right? Not the hs?
Seattle is a great town
August 18
I will visit my family in Seattle also
What part hego?
so this would have been perfect for me. except that is when i have the house in the vineyard. non-negotiable...
do the vineyard doren.. it'll be gorgeous there
Kisap peninsula
the Vineyard is wonderful too.
what about murgle.. what's wrong with murgle?
murgle?
I keep finding words in the grid that don't take hego
it's the grid's fault
Ah. I have family there too. Kitsap peninsula that is. Seattle too come to think of it.LOL
I like murgle
funny, small world M9
M( do LDS forget their relatives?
i really think i could move to the vineyard later in life... but only if i had a warm place for january through march
it's a half human in the wizarding world??
too remote for me Dorens
oh, the friend was a friend from HS... as iin High School
Ru.. we're so busy looking for the dead ones, sometimes we mislay the ones still here...?"
that's a muggle
i think i could do it. went in early april this year to see what it's like off season. loved it.
oops.. forgot to say half fish...
that's what I thought
1/2 human 1/2 fish in the wizarding world
I see
I know dorens.. I was just being silly.
drunk to the gills would be appropriate for that then
My hs is in Seattle.
wow! I just found some normal words.
what about smutter
i guess i'm a remote kind of person, actually hego and m9, i figured maybe there is some place in seattle called hs, what do i know?
a person who distribute sm4
pornographers, right? i agree
Does a smutter receive filthy lucre from all the filthy lookers?
i am so stuck at 79 i just have to list.. can't believe i haven't found a word in ten minutes.. and i am missing ten m's
: )
good one haz
snish would be a good word
I hate this grid, will never finish.
or snush
I have 88 left. I want all of these to be words.
(actually tried snish)
why not?
it doesn't even take smush
lol.. doren is desperate
oh so desperate you have no idea!
so am I for that matter... I'm not doing well on this grid
me too
The list is a good idea.
I tried it too.
The first 217 went rather quickly ..
what about grumel
very funny BR
ah yes, but then again you're babblerabble and I'm not
Hello, BabbleRabble.
Hello
you are special Haz, BR responds to you.
haz is special
A lot times the words hang out in the interstices
I don't know, maybe it was a general 'Hello' to babble.
Agreed!
Cue looking up interstices.
she certainly is! and maybe it was!
LOL
Narrow spaces.
: )
i knew the word intersticial (sp?) which is between spaces.. medical i guess
ty haz
I will leave to keep to the peace
space between ells
cells
and boy oh boy was haz right. again... this time about the list no, babrab, peace is here.. please stay
The peace is being kept with you here, BabbleRabble, no need to go.
interstitial spaces
yup, cells, not spaces, what was i thinking? can i still blame it on insufficient caffeine?
of course
sounds like a science resort
good one!
chalk boards near the pool
wine served in beakers
I'd better head off to get some food started. Happy babbling to all. Bye!
all the bathrobes have pockets for plastic pen holders
bye haz
bye Haz!
*gone*
I'd go there!
Ru there must be ipads everywhere.
bye haz and ru, this sounds more and more interesting .. they used to keep slide rules in those plastic pockets.. bc
me too m9
sauces in the restaurant are listed by their molecular composition
(taking bets on just how long ru can go on with this)
the pool has a water slide rule
there is such a thing as molecular cusine.
but it's just silly
yes there is
google El Bullli
good one M9
nitrogen ice cream...
I don't need my food decontructed and reconstructed.
I just want it good!
well actually hego....
he's a genius
yes....
reminds me of what an old geezer told my husband at work..
If we really knew what was in prepared food....would you eat it??
yes, he may be, but not my taste.
My husband asked "how was your meal?" and the ol guy said "it'll make a poop!"
I like food to be simple and fresh.
and if that isn't deconstructed and reconstructed I don't know what is!
lolol
I agree
that's how I like to cook.. simple
it's just a matter of taste Ru.
I like to go to restaurants that cook better than I do
agree ruru
with good ingredients, that's all that's needed
We're having a quinoa salad for dinner
rutt
exactly ru!
Which I why I don't eat out much
me neither.
I have to server her highness first
Just because the cooking is more complicated doesn't always make it better.
quinoa salad sounds delish....
If I eat out, I want it to be so good that it inspires me to make something at home
I like quinoa with mint, and lemon and spring garlic and arugula
Ever go to French Laundry Ru?
Or Tra Vigne?
yes many time
times
Tra Vigne all the time
lucky Ruru!!
quinoa salad is delicious. yesterday i had some leftover quinoa, threw it in a bowl with spinach, roast chicken, chopped up snap peas, asparagus, red onion and threw in white wine balsamic and olive oil... s & p... yum
The Laundry is too much for me these days
Oh God, I am so jealous!
This is a kind of southwest take on tabbouleh I think.. Instead of mint or parsley it's cilantro. a little chile pepper... lime instead of lemon
oh ru definitely knows how to eat
oooh.. that sounds good m9
beans and corn...
I prefer Tra Vigne also.
I'm friends with Thomas and Laura
yes m9 -- i do that sort of thing.... lime and cilantro are soooo good
now you're killing me Ru.
The recipe I saw used canned corn.. but I just cut some off a fresh ear.
..waiting....
I will come and visit you some day.
my last meal there started at 6 and ended at 2 am I can't do that any more
(will come with hego)
count me in!

Hi Sammysmom

34 Ss down, 6 to go, slog slog slog
Hey all, this is one tough grid.
are there seriously 217 words in this grid? I didn't think I was gonna make it 1/2 way! sheesh! Oh, and I totally think s+m4/7 should be a word. >:o(

happy birthday to your grandson amelu. i hope he has a good party.
10...
Go Glant, go go go...
Thanks lilli! The pre-party for the grown ups was last night (and well into this morning), even with the rain I think it's gonna be a hit. Kids love to play in the rain, after all... the house (I should say garage) may be a wreck later, but that's ok.
sn5/14 like the thing you keep you cotton on with different 2nd letter
I appreciate the needle case alert!
waterslide and rain...no difference really and kids love playing out in any weather, so i'm sure they'll all enjoy it...just not the parents with the hangovers :)
5...
i find that it is often the little words that elude me
it is always the 4s and 5s that elude me
And well Glant, I have never heard of that word either!!! neat!
go glant!
so5/14 hurting + not stay
ut pl of wombs is here
so true lil.. i remember one rainy brthday party saved by a few bars of soap.... tossed them to the 5 year olds and the4y had grand time soaping each other and themselves and running in the rain-- getting their clothes wet was a wonderful treat

47 left
I think the SOs were the hardest part
i have 7 s's left
sn so or su or all
the last su5 sounds like a california wine brand we can buy here
there is an su 4 which is the round yellow thing we're not seeing much of with a double consonant
mmm...thinking about the wine brand
ty for the su4
the wine brand has 6 letters
i need so6/21 after the bottom of foot
sn5 rhymes with the thing you keep your cotton on
anfd the 5,6 and 6 after that one
so6 - very serious indeed - like at a funeral
i have all the sn's thanks anyway
so5 after it sounds the same but includes last vowel & pl
and the last so5/14

wtg science!!
the river near here is over the banks
not good science. i hope you don't get flooded.
my house nearly got flooded the other week but luckily enopugh the rain stopped and my drains worked
we are far enough away but the road is covered
It is intense
our road was like a river and my neighbours were putting compost bags infront of my doors...bless them
it has rained every day for a week.
wow
I understand because we often have flooding here
okay off to take a shower. Stary high and dry!
we live on a hill anyway and then my garden is slanted and paved so i can get around in my chair but all my other neighbours have steps so they were ok
you too science. tc and bye
What is it about getting older that everytime I do stuff I hurt something?
NM. Rhetorical question that includes the answer with the question.
It's time for old lady shoes.
never time for old lady shoes
I know, right?
we all gotta be old ladies tottering round in heels, i'm determined i will be
Just call me Paul Bunion.
I'm not going down without a fight!
unless you going down on your heels lol
this is my year for arthritis.
And my PT told me not to do stretches at the gym which boggles my mind.
surely stretching is a mild exercise
One would think.
Welcome to the land of conflicting advice from experts.
that is one large world
hello
clue for the mu6/24(not the mubler or the experimental human)....please

ty hego
62 left and very slow now
95f with the humidex..rain..good lord make it rain...ugh
that is considered a good day here, cros - lol
we will hit 101 today
we die when we got over 80 kje
but rain tomorrow and only 95!!!
that's ok, they die in TX when it gets below 20
my brother had 120 f last week in henderson nevada
i best be thankful then
do you have an ac
my mrs used to take great delight in going down to largo fla when it was 70-75 there and the locals had the sweaters and the jackets on.she had the pool to herself
yes kje.for the first time in 20 years,we have a ac unit in the house
it is all what you are used to
I keep my house at 82 in the summer
!
(62 in the winter)
feels fine compared to outside cross
when you walk in from 100+, 82 feels a-ok
when it is hot like this,i keep it at 72-75 in winter when it is minus 20- minus 30 out ,we will keep it 65 in house
I just wear extra layers in the winter.... and less in the summer
funny how we differ
I am worried in my new place where the radiator is controlled by the landlord that I may be too hot in there - I don't like it stuffy
nor do i
are you in a upstairs unit?
in B-more, I kept it at 58-60 in the winter... that house was built in the early 1800s and leaked too much to heat the outdoors... so I got used to it
if you are to be in a upstairs unit, you will most likely be too warm.make sure all the windows can open
we were in a upstairs duplex once and we died in the winter it was sooo hot
I suspect I will keep the radiators closed and just get the ambient heat from below
i would imagine so
hello all
an7?
hi cos
may i have a call for gr6 please
an + vowel + alone, or foot related word
ty!
ok,here is crossy,s recipie of the day!! i am making these tonight.only thing i changed was i made a cake decorator bag out of waxed paper and drizzled melted bakers chocolate over them before placing in fridge.i think this will make the mrs head snap around hehehe... http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2wqlO3/: 185gt5!yA:Ph$kADpo/jebelingcopycatreci pes.blogspot.co.il/2012/07/cheesecake- stuffed-strawberries.html/

howdy cosdem
recipe looks good!
ok... gr6 starts with white wine... pinot gr4 + not off
she adores cheesecake
and loves strawberries
<---- doesn't like strawberries
:((
but it sounds like a pretty recipe, cross
I had strawberries in florida once with beef carpaccio wrapped around it - those were OK. Raw beef makes most things tasty
then i have just the thing kje, cheescake filled chocolate covered cannoli shells
fl7?
instead of ricotta, stuff em full of cheesecake mix;)
first fl7?
nah
don't like cannoli either - lol
:(((
they don't do anything for me
I'm missing the cannoli gene
mm,a challange i see....
there ws a great italian bakery and gelateria in b-more that people would rave about their cannolis.... meh
I don't like pudding-y, flan-y, custard-y kind of things
long grain wild rice as a bed on the plate and crossy tequilia lime basted jumbo tiger shrimp skerwers!
that sounds nice
(tomorrows dinner) i do the skewers on the bbq
I like shrimp just about anyway they are prepared... as long as not cooked until tough
and just enough garlic butter burbling over a candle for dipping to make yer heart pause
and i have some sweet pea pods(raw of course) for veggie on da side
do not think i have ever had a sweet pea pod from the garden cooked..almost a sin
ah, finally found the fl7 - from flanders
sorry,i could of clued that, was dreaming of shrimp
sorry i went away. did someone clue the gr6?
I'm tired... just waiting to round with my team at 430 - have been here since 630 am.... this new rotation schedule sucks
yes cos
gr6 starts with white wine... pinot gr4 + not off

found one of the fl7/40!
so many babblets in this grid
Pretty easy grid. All you have to do is find the words to finish it.
well... i've done that finally
I admire your logic, BR!
what did the scientist say when the other scientist threw sodium chlorine at him?
"that's a salt!"
Haha!
ty ill be here all week
chloride?
I wonder if BR goes to OLD MAN FACES . Com for all of his icons
*waves to all the people*
nice Robert A. Heinlein quote BR.he is a great writer and i have read several of his books
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do Two can be as bad as one It's the loneliest number since the number one No is the saddest experience you'll ever know Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know `Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do One is the loneliest number, worse than two It's just no good anymore since she went away Now I spend my time just making rhymes of yesterday One is the loneliest, number one is the loneliest Number one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do One is the loneliest, one is the loneliest One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do It's just no good anymore since she went away..arrrroooooo
hello
hola
hi there kje
pronto
marco
ha! pronto is one of the forms of hello in italian....
I know :)
was starting to have to think... french would have been next
bon soir
one word
it is?
ok, bonsoir
pretty sure
german - guten tag
I forget if there is an evening one
texan - hey y'all
danish - hej (that and thank you are all I know)
are you finished the grid, kje?
german - guten abend
there y ago
there ya go
all I remember from my 1 semester of high school german is a song called mein hut der hat drei ecken
not really useful.... but if anyone ever needs it, I can tell someone that my hat has 3 corners!
which means what?
aha
it means my hat has three corners
it says my hat it has 3 corners... 3 corners has my hat... and if it had not 3 corners.... it wouldn't be my hat
Mein Hut, der hat drei Ecken, Drei Ecken hat mein Hut, Und hätt er nicht drei Ecken, So wär es nicht mein Hut.
we use to sing it in class and unfortunately that stuck... nothing useful
except please, thank you, hello, goodbye... those are useful
24 left,bbs
I am done, epri, just popping over occasuionally from online shopping for a rug
whooo hoooo KJE!!
clue for the first fl7?
nm, found it. but fleuron should be in the grid too. darn it.
oops, sorry, missed that... multitasking
that's dangerous
tadone!! finito!
yeah... lbd.. well done
wooohooo lbd!!!
multitasking dangerous?
well, at least I am still upright... and it is already 8:00!
I am trying to select a rug for my dining room and this is much harder than the other rooms
but i thought you were moving to SF? why buy rugs now?
I think because the others are much more restricted by furniture/linen colrs/patterns and with the dining rom there is a lot more leniency
no, these rugs are for my new place
the LR rug I will keep, bedroom I need a larger one and already bought
now I need dining
oh! you found a place! and when do you move?
and I can't seem to commit to one color scheme or pattern or decor feel
yep, found a cool place, move at the end of the month, will likely have delivery there around the 6th
lol, you'll have to plan one room to commemorate Texas
hells no!
I am sooooo not Texan - lol
lol
though I would plant bluebonnets if I can
there is a green space across teh street that is kind of a barrier between us and park presidio and I may go dump a bunch of blue bonnet seeds over ther
I will be like lady bird!
hello
be careful, someone might think you're planting something else
hi pickles
how big of a place? is it an apartment or house?
ha! true
apartment - 1100sf
especially near the presidio
that's a pretty good sized apt
I have a patient on my service right now that looks just like jerry garcia when graying, and thinner, and kind a stoned
our first house was that size
I said to my team, doesn't he look like jerry garcia?
they had no idea who I was talking about
bet that will never happen in SF
lol
no.. not here..he's probably the most famous guy in the bay area
it is big ru - I am just starting to appreciate how big those rooms are
dead or alive
it is a 1BR with LR, DR, kitchen and a breakfast nook in the kitchen
apparently in SF it is very coomon to convert the dining room in these old places to another BR
wow sounds like you lucked out
so it was advertised as a 1-2BR
but I want a dining room... cooking and entertaining are important to me
yup
sounds like a sweet deal, kje.
ah, you are not on FB, so you didn't see the pics... maybe I will bug you by emailing them... it is pretty nice compared to almost all I saw in this price range
no dishwasher though
phantom: m----room
but I do have my own parking garage
lol at no one on your team knowing who jerry garcia was. jeez, no dead heads around you?
you can always hire a dishwasher kje
well, own space with my own door in a parking garage
oh, lbd... I felt so old!
(or marry one ; )
lol
lbd - this came only abut an hour after we were talking about rosacea and I use WC Fields as the classic rosacea nose..... they stared at my blankly
test drive on the dish washer, kje. ;-)
now granted, Fields was from when my parents were young, so way before my time, but really? they hadn't even heard of him?
ha! lbd...
oh my, you work with a lot of babies! tell them they have to watch some old movies and listen to some really good rock!
who's WC Fields?
bullshit, ru
you are older than me
:D
seriously, lbd.... they need a life!
I'm not old enough to remember WC Fields but i know who he is
*abusive language in chat.. *deduction of two points*
they need some history, kje
KJE went to high school with him
exactly! I have never seen him in anything except documentary kind of stuff, but I know who he is
who's being abusive? TRUTH isn't abusive.
ha! I think most people would give me points for abusive labguage to you, ru
LOL.. maybe
the bedroom is 16x15 feet ru
*hands kje all her points*
where's Molly when you need her.. MOOOOOLLLLY
ty stid!
hey all -- finally got NBT so felt I could enter the chog... only 158 to go
there ya go kje.. room to wrestle
*gives ruru all her choclits*
go stid!
evening all!
I need a wrestle partner though
hi dan2!
hi dan2
what did you feed twobit to get that face?
stid that photo looks a littlr obsene
sorry pickles -- if you look closer, you see it is a tunnel of books.
obscene
ruru! that is her "make a smile" face
np
yes, very georgia o'keefe'ish
I thought it looked a bit like a uvula, only upside down...
LOLOL - that is hilarious dan2
LOL Dan! too cute
how does it look obscene?
she looks like she just ate a pickle
hi dan, hi stiddy
hey LBD (don't answer that, pickles...)
she is out in LA this week with mrs2bit
oh no, daddy having baby girl withdrawls?
wait -- you let then go ALONE??? to L.A.????? *sigh* *shakes head*
gets cuter every pic, dan2!
very much so. unfortunately, I had to be in New Orleans until yesterday for work. thanks kje!
bet it was hot down there
oh, that's too bad. I'd rather be in L.A. than new Orleans right now... I think it's cooler in SoCal!
they are visiting a grade school friend of mrs2bit who just had a mastectomy last month. taking her some miss2bit medicine!
hope mrs2bit's friend will recover her strength quickly
thanks, everything seems to have gone as well as it could have
nothing like a toddler to help the healing! hope Mrs2bit's friend recovers well.
she says "miss elaine has a big booboo, but she's a happy lady!"
cute
*wicked evil mama look* I fussed and fussed and FINALLY Tom got off that stupid horrible nasty bad awful skyrim game. *hate hate hate look* and now he and Grant have returned to normal and are discussing what they are making me for supper. My having a migraine is reason enough, and I am playing it to the hilt. Did I mention I HATE this game/PS device??? *grump*
oh, good for her
lol, stiddy. yup milk it for all it's worth.
no clue what skyrim is
assume it is a video game, ru
a VERY realistic, rich video game. addictive
It's a STUPID, INFERNAL, AWFUL game that has my menfolk completely addicted. IF I don't get in there and find something for them to do they will spend all day slack-jawed and glassy-eyed.
clearly stid is not a fan
*wonder what Tom thinks of Babble*
The one who isn't playing looks like a zombie, the one who is playing evidences no signs of actual fun. It's like living in part of Dante's inferno
ya think?
not that I need any more computer addictions
<---- remembers ru's attempt to give up babble
should add pathetic attempt
It's horrible -- "just a sec" has often turned into several hours. I have to stand there and ask every 30 seconds how much longer... It's like I don't have real people living with me sometimes. But if I get to them before they turn it on... then I have healthy, happy menfolk.
I tried to be celibate too.. that didn't work either
sounds like it is time for an intervention, stid
hmph. well, there isn't much to be said for celibacy, and there is a lot of good that comes out of babbling. *giggle* (Not addicated...)
comparing babble to sex? doesn't do it for me
maybe an interrimtion
sure it does kje
I am about to confiscate the little controller thingy, I think. It can be hidden easily. I don't want them to have their brains drain out their ears.
maybe a timer on the game console, only one hour allowed then auto shut off for minimum of 8 hours.
that's an idea, LBD. Will have to consider how to make it work.
um, nope
or put a money lock on it. they have to pay to play. 25 cents per x amount of time.
brb
that's like a video chastity belt
whatever works...

Should have put his foot in his mouth rather than in a sock. Perhaps, put a sock in it?

In honor of Natural Nude Day, I walked around in the buff all day today!Did get a lot of stares when I went out to the store & when I took dog around the block.
