how are the furballs doing?
"little" puppy, enormous at 7 months, is doing splendidly. My Ruby, on the other hand, is winding down and I am very sad.
(((RUBY))) but she's given you a long good life, and that's to be celebrated. but my heart still goes out to you.
it's very hard for me as Ruby has been my favorite of our 6 chows
as long as she doesn't have pain, I'll do everything I can to keep her alive
she's on 2 heart meds, but is very tired
2won't walk in the street any more
that's all you can do, and give her love. i'm so glad you have ruffino now too
he is a joy and it is wonderful to have him. He's perfect, smart and very affectionate
my doberman had an enlarged heart, it was very sad to watch him deteriorate, and tho sad it was the best thing for us to let him go painlessly.
what were his symptoms?
lethargy, wouldn't eat, when he "played" he'd tire quickly as well as "faint" from lack of oxygen to his heart. had to give him muzzle to mouth rescusitation a couple times.
Ruby continues to eat and "eyll" at Ruffino, but she is lethargic and has a "sunken" look about her

I, for one, am fixated on this breed. It's both a question of aesthetics and personality type; chow are like enormous cats in their independence
and are so beautiful
chows are lovely dogs. a bit too "fuzzy" for me. i'm very fond of min pins, german pinschers and the doberman breeds.
the long fur is a bit much, very high upkeep
but they are lovely and sweet and Ruffino is the most affectionate of them all
all that love wrapped up in all that fur, how can you not love them?
thank God for that; it's helped husband through the tragedy of Max and softens what lies ahead for me with Ruby
yeah, ruffino is going to be much needed when your Ruby crosses the rainbow bridge.

when we lost our little black female, Cleo, at less than two years, we realized that we had to always have two
but I wouldn't ever get another black one; they are too inbred, I think, although Ruffino's mother is black....who knows?

so you want to really watch the bloodlines of the puppies. sounds like you have a lot of research to do to find the next pup

all of ours have been related! all from Mi_pao kennels in Ontario, but sometimes many generations down the line. Even Ruffino is related to our first chow's father
I think because of the continuous bloodlines
and she was born in 1990
the breeder is responsible, but breeds them for their beauty and gentle dispositions
much like any breed, you really have to watch those bloodlines. and hopefully have a responsible breeder.
I think it's most true with big dogs
if not bred carefully, they can be dangerous

when my mam and dad came over from france a april, they had their last dog which they had to have put to sleep a month later and we thought that my female cat would be a cow as soon as he came in but she hid for most of the time and started coming a bit closer to him in the last couple of days and my male cat who we thought would hide, never did, he would eat next to him.and canni(the dog) never chased them or barked, he was a lovely dog

it was just about to come into the house when the rain stopped.i live on the top of the hill by the school and it was coming down the cut like a river and down the street.i've never seen rain like it in 14 years living here.it didn't help that our drive is sloped and brick paved for me to get around in my chair but luckily enough we have extra drains because of this but they just couldn't clear the water in time.my neighbours were putting compost bags in front of my doors :)

yes like you i live on a bank. i was going to see Mrs Browns boys at newcastle metro arena that thursday night and got stranded in it, needless to say we never made the show. the rain was unreal that night wasnt it. we got stuck in traffic for 6 hours not even moving. we left the boro at 4.30 i arrived home at midnight

once the rain had stopped and the traffic came to a standstill people were getting out of their cars and talking to each other, and in true british fashion when things go wrong people rallied round and made makeshift tents for people who wanted the toilet. yes thats the show, we were lucky and were offered tickets for the saturday matinee. others not so lucky i believe

well this is complicated... first you go to your accountm and go to the picture and press edit... then you choose to "upload" a picture from your computer... first browsing your computer and finding where the pic you want is at... i find it simplest to get the pic onto the desktop and do it from there... does that make any sense?

Aruba is an island about 25 miles from Venezueala in the Caribean. Temperatures run into the 80's and 90's F. But there is a steady trade wind that blows all the time.
The water is beautiful and the beaches are nice.

i don't know what the pound is to the dollar but that is normally an expensive brand. if i buy shop tea bags it is a lot cheaper

my husband was born in what was then East Prussia - his dad was in a Polish prison camp - his mom fled from the russians to west germany and then easdt germany - wasn't reun ited with his dad until 2 years after the war was over
i think my nan and grandad were married before the war, but it hapened that my nan was expecting my mam just before the war
My mom also had a similar thing, she met her dad at age 3-4.
omg teach. i have read so many books about prison camps aqnd prussia, his mam must have had a very difficult ime but i'm so glad that she was re-united with her husband after the war.they must have both been through hell!

i just wish i had taped / written down the stories she told about their times - she didn't talk much about it but i would get bits and pieces - they had to flee during the winter - with my husband (just a baby) and her elderly parents - walked - travelled in box cars

non of them really talked about it,except amogst themselves.my grandfather said little on his war experiences
but he wrote this book and it was properly published but in a small batch and i think it just went to his fireman buddies of the day
one of my grandads worked down the pit so he was exempt from war work and my other was in the royal engineers and built bridges abroad and got hurt in the war
if you can ever get a copy or find out where it is i woul;d love to read it crossy
I can get the info from my Mom Lilli, if you are interested. My Grandfather flew and did recon throughout the war stayed with a lovely family in ireland most of the time. He was extremely lucky.
I think it was too hard to talk about the war as it is not a really easy thing to describe to those who did not experience it.

i have read alot of true stories about the war an d alot of people have said that they've never said anything to their families about it or it has been a son/daughter writing about their mams and dads and they found out alot of their war time experiences after they died through diaries and pictures

lilliann if you are interested in true stories of what people did in the war you might try contacting the Archive Department of libraries. My father served in the RCAF in England and someone came to interview him in the 1960s about his experiences. He told that guy way more than he ever told us and we never knew about it until after his death. Perhaps someone there had the same idea and stored the interviews in the Archives where we found my Dad's story.

story was very dull. He seemed to have a lot of suggestions about how to make the military work better than it did. He never liked rules much.

I found his story through the computer but the original was in the Archive. All you can do is ask and all they can do is say No. It is worth a try if you are interested.
