i'm guess a bbq would keep them away
PBS is showing a BBC show about the Nurenberg trials -- excellent. Fascinating for me, because an aunt of mine who was fluent in German went over there from NY to be a translator.

physio at hydro added a new exercise this AM.....i think i'm gonna not like him anymore...:( it hurt
see - he wants you to be thinking about how cross he makes you rather than any pain - it's a cunning plan
Hello everyone

wtg cool and bye
good morning my babble friends:)
crossy :) *hug*
((sprite))
so how is the grid today?
easy
good to hear, chore await, but they can await a while longer yet
ah good. Never seen chores go away, alas
sprite, have you ever read the infamous "tropic of cancer" by Henery miller?
let me see what that is in dutch
yep. A lonnnnnng time ago!
fireflies!
easy grid, no slowing down, last words the longer fo combo and ov5.
well,it is what is called a gateway book.was banned in the u.s and canada for many, many years till it went to trial in the 60,s and plays a large part in the freedoms of expressions that writers enjoy today.i have it in e-pub if you would like a copy
yes I would love to reread it, and now in english. Thank you!
addy again please and ill send it along now
lol you keep losing me!
email sent
ok,back in a moment
back and it is on its way to you as we speak;))) be warned though,i have not proof read it
can you clue me the ov,s please
no problem, I can ignore a couple of scan blunders.
the ov5 is weird. It is 3 rhyming syllables.
and i lose you,not because i do not care, but envision me more as a slightly confused but happy fellow in a cluttered house filled with books and three cats, and various knick knacks and shiny baubles from around the globe.now in all this happy bookish clutter are scraps of paper with addys of my friends on it,because i got distracted on the way to putting them in my computer address book.one book leads to a bauble, leads to a daydream leads to another book and i still i wander around on the paths that my tales take me down, lost but happy:))..whew..waxing poetic again..need a tea brb
I think this time I was in between the knicks and the knacks :D
and I was pulling your leg, don't worry! You can lose my addy anyday. *hug*
thanks for the book, it reached me safely.
do you know the books by Faye Kellerman? Spouse of Jonathan?
np and ty for the ov5:)
no,i do not
she writes detective novels with a very good insight in Jewish communities. I am enjoying them very much. Wanna?
sure, why not?? ill add the to the 15 or so tomes waiting for me:))
good thing is the e-reader has slowed the clutter immensly
*giggles* I know, right? :D On their way...
so no more moving a stack of books out of the bath tub so people can have a shower:)
and you know you have problems when you go into the fridge to get some milk for your tea and find a book neatly placed between the carton of milk and tonights dinner:))
roflol! Oh... I once didn't have my glasses for more than a week. Left them in the fridge when the phone rang. Didn't see them because every time I looked into the fridge, my eyes were not aiming for glasses but for food. Embarrassing ;)
good thing is,with book readers,we are not losing our minds, our cheese is not sliding off the cracker..we are just excentric:))
oh I know! I am so happy with my reader. People always say here: You have books EVERYwhere! Even on the toilet. Well... isn't that a very LOGICAL place for books? I have lived through times when that was the only place I had peace enough for reading.
I can live with being excentric. Yeah. :)
ok,ill confess,i have a older e-reader that now resides on the the top of the toilet permmanantly with the charger nearbye
the books shelves in the living room are full..all five of them with 5 shelves and 6 feet high, two stacks of books on either side of that which support speakers for the stereo, books on both coffee tables...
one of the cats is sleeping on a stack of books by my desk as we speak
"kind of appropriate anyways because the top one seems to be a book about cats
see, cats are smarter than we give them credit for
I have to go, crossy! I hope the books reach you safely. *hugs* to you and Mrs. Crossy, and the cats too.
and anytime a paper book falls apart my mrs seems instantly ready with a epub version of it for me to download,so she is gaining back the house ,one book at a time, she is no longer like a sherpa on everest climbing the third stage over mounds of books to move around the house lol
tc sprite
and hugs to you:))
and now i must drift off to find that tea i was steeping...
hello. we'll see how "easy" this grid is! hahah
Good morning, I need a clue for the first fo7/44, please?
hi ruby, crossy, sprite
{bichon}}
hello mysterious marc!
I've just started the grid, very late for me
ruby, how's Ruby
hanging on, but no longer wil take her walks in the street.....
I remember how that was with Biscuit. Had to carry him out to the street.
fortunately, she can do her biz in the garden
but Biscuit didn't weight 75 lbs!
the first fo7/44, please, anyone?
the advantage of small dogs, caring for them during end of life is a bit easier
sorry Marc, not there yet
and the little ones live so much longer....
ok
took care of daughters 13 y.o. Bichon for a couple of days. Thought he'd never make it up the steps
fo744...compound word...the gypsy ****told the future + not bottom
Like Billy Bud, ty Molly
ty molly and hello
thanks molly
Hi everyone
this grid is OK' I wouldn't call it "easy"
true ruby, having trouble with upper e and bottom o
Nope
77 words and no nbt!
easy for some, not easy fot moi!
((ruby)) howdy bichon..found my tea and i am back for a few more
top e's are speechify and one who does
{{crossy}}
ty ruby
:o( 80 and 3 BT....the three O's
hi fish fish
ty ruby. I didn't know that speechify meant that. I thought it meant orate
not sure, bichon, but that was my first thought :(
the bottom o is a lulu
bottom o? no idea or for the one above it!
None of these grids are "easy". If they were, I don't think many people would bother with them.
speechify is to give a pompous oration
ah, got the one for the ship's deck
I would put this grid in the middle. Some good placement of letters
must add fuel to the brain cell, bbs
ov + Bich's dogs are Marco and P***
v nice, thanks milly
good morning all
hello teach
how's your day?
cool sunshine here
cloudy so far this morning
is the heat wave in the US over?
extreme heat seems to be gone - but still hotter and much drier than our summers usually are
we are very lucky!
yes you are
and now, a nap! yay
see you later, kids
enjoy your nap
Hello kids. Anybody here?
howdy scrabby:)
hello scrabbler
heat wave is over here, but we desperatly need rain
I came back from the Adirondack Mtns last evening. No Babble for 5 days.
We need rain too.
poor scrabby
sounds like it was a great time thoguh
We did 2 long hikes (7.2 miles and 6 miles--both to remote mountain ponds), and paddled a lot. It was an ideal vacation.
i got tired just reading about your trip:))
Haha. We like to be active. No sitting in the sun for us.
stats for any of the 7s please
good morning
hello dorens
scrabbler, i love my boat!! going paddling with a friend in half an hour.... third day in a row..
just found one wv... fo7/44
gm
good morning kje
gm kj. did you stay up last nite on youtube? or did that famous self-restraint kick in?
I stayed up til past 1, but it was doing check list stuff.... made a significant dent so feeling a little better
that's good,,,what is your timeline now?
right now I am at the car dealership gettig my car serviced before i hit the road in a week.... let's see what they come up with ; )
Good morning!
packers come friday, movers come saturday, i leave dallas the following tuesday at noon or so via highway 35 north!
you have a week? plenty of time :-)
gm car
kje...I'm sorry, you are moving?
first stop, Tucumari
hi car. packers ? what a luxury..... jeremy and liz are being packed too... do hospitals always do this?
ha! dorens... I am still working
Hi Dorens!
if I had the week off, that would be true, but I am suppose to be working
yuck... working still? sorry
Back. I had to go see a patient.
Hi Scrabs!
no wonder you have lists - and strtess
Doren--isn't that canoe the BEST?!!
Hi wv!
it is the university that pays, not the hospitals in our cases, but in general they want to make it painless for you to move, they understand the schedules at play here
so sweet.... i owe you big thanks
I didn't know you were moving...where to?
at the VA, they gave me a lump sum that I can use however I like, I like packers ; )
yes, i meant university. i am impresssed
Doren, Leslie would like for you two to become paddling buddies.
i would love that scrab... would you please give her my email?
kje--I am so excited for you--big changes ahead.
honestly, once you calculate in the cost of all the boxes, packing materials, time spent packing, etc... packers are not very expensive
Leslie has no paddling buddies near her, except you now!
but i don't know if i can keep up with her... i'm a lazy little paddle around the lake for 45 minutes type.
oooo , got that fo7, ty
my boxes always came from the hospital... hubby would scrounge around for weeks... they had good ones
She is a slower paddler than me. I like to paddle hard to get a good work-out.
my local lake is a lot smaller than thirteenth lake, but a nice paddle. today i'm going to a different one near my friend -- she kayaks and can't wait to try out my hornbeck... I'm hoping to get her hooked
(wishes she could go paddling with scrab and dorens)
you are an exercise fiend, scrabs... I am definitely not. But Leslie and I could have a great time paddling and then playing scrabble
(hop a plane to newark and let's convince scrabbler to come down and visit her sister -- it could happen)
not happening right now though
no, but next summer?? or spring?/
exactly half way
but.... you are coming to see me next spring!
summer? if i do spring, it would have to be during my april vacation, but that might be a good idea
either
we can do some wine tours
though.... we need a designated driver
scrab?
y''know, i never considered april. But that is when i used to go to europe, i forgot that i like to do something that week. hmmm. I will definitely look into it... have friends in oakland and napa ( there's always ruru)
ah yes, bald ruru
I'll find out which week i have off, and will let you know. Scrabbler... have you ever been to ssan francisco? would be a great trip (but would be hard to bring our hornbecks)
ladies, this winter(with lots of help) i am going to be turning a old flat sterned canoe of mine into a outrigger sailing/paddling canoe!!,the flat stern will have a small rudder instead of a electric motor, the centre seat will be converted to hold a small mast and single sail that can be stowed in the canoe at need.the two struts for the outrigger will have fasteners to hold canvas or other material(will most likely got with hammock mesh for light weight and stowage)so you can lay out on it on calm days, will be custom making the outrigger itself out of surf board foam..then we shall see.will be grat fun,but not for portages but more for fast easy sailing for novices and pros alike
sounds very ambitious
the hard part will be secure fasteing of outrigger poles to canoe,to allow flex but no damage
Good morning Crossy!
howdy car;))
and it is now time for crossys tidbit of the day!!!(those of you in ohio, take note)...
Doren, Leslie is a great Scrabble player--watch out.
Enacted in 1953, an Ohio law states that no person shall be arrested on the Fourth of July nor on a Sunday while going to or from a designated place of worship.
it's okay, she can beat me!! i have gotten over my need to win. just enjoy a good game
I must remember to take advantage of that
Oh boy...that's a loop hole!
yes, steal a car on sunday morning on the way to church:))))
On phone.
and return it before midnight
my fave italian apertivo drink is in here
Help please with or 5 and ov 5?
or at least the liquor portion
not accepted of course
ov 5 has 3 o's if that helps
ov+ ruby has 2 dogs one is marco and the other is p***
Got the or 5!
Ugh! I swear I tried that! TY!
One of my cousins moved from the Albany, NY area to Gilroy, CA last fall.
I am a non-drinker so can be a designated driver.
just listening to the penalties the NCAA made on Penn State... interesting
Crossy, very ambitious of you. That boat will be sweet!
ha! I just heard brad and angelina told the olympic committee they would be attendig and need extra security
the committee said no....yay! wtf, why does anyone else have to pay you for that?
it will be indeed, though you will be able to stow the sail and mast in transit to paddle if you wish, once the outrigger is on,you will not be able to stow it mid transit i am afraid . the first test pontoon is actually going to be a old surfboard cut lengthwise, but we will see how that goes
mornong friends
gm hego
howdy hego
um morning
crossy, not ruby, but me!
I thought so!
hi hego. and yes, kj. that is just ridiculous. if you need security for something you choose to attend, then obviously you pay for it. egos!
lol,sorry bichon,got confuzzled there for a sec
I did not want to correct Crossy and be one of those "stickler" people.
Gilroy CA used to be the garlic capital of the world. You drove through there and you could smell it. Now garlic is grown in China
well said dorens
Hi dorens
hi hego. yes, i remember gilroy.. sorry to hear it is no longer
I do not buy Chinese garlic. It's never dried enough and rots.
that would be like them asking wal-mart to pay for security if one day they chose to shop there...insane!
It's still there and still smelly.
hah! pitt is in the grid
...sigh...
or the grid is in the pitts doens.
lol
lol Mixi
that was yesterday
didn't do the grod yesterday. was away.
yes... was yesterday the grid with no e's??
yes
awful
time for me to paddle.... see you later
bye
morel
oops
bye dorens
:(
ty Crossy
and pl it
like those mushrooms
Hi again!
hi car
Hi hego!
: )
I am just staring at this grid. My brain is not functioning very strongly right nw.
it's a little obscure
<----staring too
I am staring off into space....
How are you this morning hego?
still staring
I had to use the list to get NBT this morning....
lol. okay Car
me too
Coffee kicking in...just got a few more....
just started really
six tries to get je4
In some quirky shift of the universe, I have ALL the vowels! If you need any clues, let me know!
ty i will
lol, hego.you are one up on me as i did not even know there WAS a je4 till your told me:/
Yup...it's Monday in Babble Land!
: D
I tried the word "lemon"...now I want something lemony....
sl** gin fizz
ooooo lemon curd
I love lemon flavored things....
me too
sn*** which i do not do at night no matter what the mrs says
one of the kids gave me some lemon flavored olive oil.
and what you also do when you sn5, another sn5.
Suuurrreee Crossy...no one ever sno5s!
fo 4/7=a common babblet
it is so great on fish.
i do a lemon pepper tempura thing on my game fish..mmmmmm
Stop...please....
you started it. lol
fired golden brown i a dab of creamery butter, the meat just flakes apart with a fork...
fried
Crap...that's right....
hahaha
and for crossy, sperfect oven baked chips,i blance the russet taters exatly 5 min in boiling water and take 2 tbs of seasoned peanut oil and coat them and bake in da over, turning once till golden bron on outside and light and fluffy inbside and season with a dash of pepper and fresh ground sea salt
read through the typos please
<droooooollllllll>
now you got the food porn king going!
and you have guilt free fries;))
plan on 2-3 med but taters per person
cut
2-3 taters per person?!?!?!? Yikes! That's still guilty!
yikes!
not that bad with just fish and salad to go with it
oil and butter are what do potatos in..this recipie you are using 2 tbs on a 6 person serving
I am just thinking the quantity of potato!
2-3 russets are over a pound
Don't get me wrong though...I would still devour them!
or 500 grams
me too car
and MUST be russets,no other taters compare
Cook 'em up Crossy!
for frying, must be russet
getting nowhere. bbl
Bye hego! {{hugs}}
28 to go...I'm pulling up the list....
and when you cut those fries,do not cut them long and thin like mcdonalds fries, they cook too unevenly, rather cut them in "planks" about the same size and shape as those pink pencil erasers
they work better in poultine also
now,poultine IS big guilt food!
Hi everyone...been away awhile, but ready to try today's puzzle!
Hi Spanky!
but think of it like this..my doctor once told me that each slice of bacon i eat takes 6 minutes off of my life, problem with his theory is that if that is the case,i should of died in 1743:)))))
howdy spanky
Hi
spanky, says you like gargoyles..did you see that after many, many decades, our govt has replaced the original 4 gargoyles on top of our parlament building?
:)
fo 6/27 anyone?
Crosshair: no I didn't know that. Been down due to surgery, so I will read about that today. Thanks for sharing :)
Oh! Spanky! Are you recovering well?
Yes. I had a complete tear of a tendon in my right foot a
OUCH!
Yeah, I can't use my leg at all for another few weeks. Started some foot rehab this week and did that really hurt!
Vole

You wear one in the kitchen, Ivesy
2 fo7s.
oh geez.... ty molly... dont cook so wouldnt no that

thanks for the fo words, molly!
I did at 11:36.
and hi, molly, peri, and ivesy! It was getting lonely in here!
hi all
that is the only one I have,Molls
hi jmc
molly clued them both, peri
fo7....a tux is worn to a fo**** occasion. Change the second vowel and plural it.
ty Molls
did not realize that you clued them both
I really need to clean out and wash the cat litter boxes :(
and tidy up around here *sigh*
That is the #2 reason I don't have a cat. #1 being cats who don't use them.
I scoop the litter box daily, scrub it every other week, clean the cat's water fountain weekly, fill it every couple of days. She's sleeping next to me now. :)
hi, peri, molly, je, sue, et al
hi, dc!
i'm very fond of that picture, sue :)
oh, the old one, i'm not seeing the new one in the chog. :)
the lightning is lovely though :)
hi all! our two cats drive me nuts, they have two food dishes, and one is always the preferred one, but since the dog eats it too, it's always empty. They won't eat out of the other one unless both are full. Then they each take one. Otherwise it's a cat staredown over the one full bowl.
how cat-like. Why not feed them on a table or counter to keep the dog out?
my sons cat wont eat if anyone is watching her. kind of looks over her shoulder as if ..what r u looking at
My sister had a dog she had to shut him in the barn to eat because the chickens chased him off and ate his dinner!!
oh, we don't let them on the table or counters. The dog gets to eat it, too, since she's little and ancient and blind, and can barely chew any more... she gets some slack. happy to see her eat anything, really.
LOL deeha
that makes sense, rbud :)
hello
I can sympathize with that Ivesy. It reminds me of the annoying people at work who feel compelled to come chat and comment on my food while I'm eating lunch.
I've always heard you shouldn't let dogs eat cat food, makes them fat - but not so for this one. don't think she eats that much.
Another sister said her cats never got on the kitchen counters either until she got up one night and one was asleep- on the bread board!
Hi Ruby how are you today. Is it as hot in France as it is here?
ewww, don't like the thought of cats sitting where I fix food, and don't have much counter space. they're quite well-behaved about it, really - they can sit in windowsills all they want, and on the chairs, and they have boxes to hide in... they're happy cats.
Rbud, I wish my kids were like you with their cat. That cat is always on the counters and table and I think it's gross.
my hubby would have a cow if he saw a cat on the counter, it would likely sail across the room shortly, lol!
the idea of a cat on the counter i funny to me; I'm picturing my cat-like (but huge) dogs on the counter! They don't even try to get on chairs
I fed my cats on one of my dressers in one place we lived with dogs.
kitty loves to finish sons coffee..no wnder why she is hyper..
I hand-feed Ruby because she expects it since Max died, but never at the table
though he had a favorite one once, and thought it was great when it walked around on his workbenches out in the shop, as it never stepped on or knocked off anything.
a FRIEND'S CAT ONCE STOLE A WHOLE CHICKEN OFF THE COUNTER
whoops, sorry for shouting
a bold cat there, ruby, lol!!
OI expect your friend shouted!!
my first chow, Rosie, once took a whole cheese off the table when my back was turned but the others are all too polite for that
(my hubby also has been known to hurl hairbrushes and ashtrays off the kitchen table - pet peeves of his.)
<-- embarrassed, but our weather is perfect
My brothers dog took a huge fruit cake then obviously panicked and hid it under the blanket in her basket
I feel the same way, rbud, and hats....but I'm not a flinger
lol! hiding a fruitcake, how funny!
that's a good way to get rid of last year's fruit cake
meh, we eat at the table so rarely any mo4, can barely find the thing, lol. Soon - when the kitchen moves to the next room and there's room for all to sit comfortably. Kitchen's very small, no dining room.
Which reminds me, need to get back to work on the new bedroom, so the moving around can commence in earnest. :)
...but only 27 left, wanna finish first! :D
go rbud go!
hey all
hello stidmama
how's lovely france today ruby?
absolutely lovely!
:-D
it was lovely here (briefly) but as I finished the dishes that were soaking overnight the clouds rolled in again. Will wake the kid up in 20 minutes and we'll go work outside for a while.
*sigh* but I wish it were sunny...
I have several boxes and piles of things that need to go outside temporarily so I can re-arrange some of the shelves and cupboards to make room for the piles and boxes...
this great summer is making up for the miserable spring
not much fruit this year, though
I am glad you are having a decent summer. My plum is not ripening the way it should. Should have already harvested everything two weeks ago. So far only a handful of ripe fruit.
And it's worse because I didn't manage to thin the fruit so already three branches have cracked under the strain. So... *bad orchardist mama look* I will do better next year.
nobody seems to have plums in this valley this year; usually everybody has to many that they give them away
so many*
one of my plum trees, the mirabelle, is dying
that's too bad -- I want to make my famous plum jam. Didn't have enough last year to do even one batch. And it's about the only jam I actually like to eat later in the year.
oh no! is it just old? can you replace it?
Mirabelles are lovely.
I feel that way about my currants. their jelly is a delight in the winter
I think it doesn't get enough sun
all my trees were planted 15 years ago
I harvested just about enough white currants to do a batch (maybe later if it rains); have still not grabbed the gooseberries. Should harvest those today, too.
white currants! I didn't know there was such a thing
are they as sour as the red ones?
I have an asian pear that I will move this winter -- it doesn't get enough sun where it is, though finally the deer have allowed it to grow a little. The first four years it was in they nibbled it almost all the way down every year. It's still a whip though it's ten years old.
Yes, they are lovely, ruby -- clear and tasty. Mother has a white currant and a red currant. They make a lovely jelly separately or combined.
I put a pear in when we did the garden but immediately got "rust" and we never had a single pear from it
and yes. SOUR when cooked (but sweeter and very "sparkly" when fresh)
our pears do okay -- the peaches on the other hand.... Have lost four trees. One left that seems to outrun the peach curl most years
the raspberry plants are growing like weeds but with no fruit
some canes are biennial fruiting? We lost ours to tree falling a couple years ago and need to replant.
we had a sanguine peach tree that never got very big, gave about 200 peaches the 3rd year and then gave up the ghost!
The blueberries are doing pretty well this summer -- though again as with all my plants they are late to bear and ripen because of the lack of actual sunlight.
Still, they are alive, and I would not be able to irrigate them all if we had drought like so much of North America this year.
sanguine peach? bright red?
I wish I could see your garden! You are much more experienced than I as this is my first one
yes, red flesh and oval
My trees didn't get pruned properly I am afraid so most of them are healthy but strangely shaped... LOL But I love my plants and we are slowly pruning things back now. It's a little like when Mary Lennox found her secret garden -- little hidden gems around every corner, but so much work to do!
At least the fig which suffered through a late frost has made a comeback and I think there'll be fruit in September (usually June, too|)
I bet that peach was tasty!
good for your fig -- I was anticipating a nice big summer crop for Mother, but for some reason most of the fruit that made it through the winter has disappeared. So we're waiting for the late crop. If we have a long summer (sometimes it's warm into October) that one will be a good size.
I love garden surprises, too. I planted globe thistles the first year, probably 5 or 6 and now they have multiplied in an invisible corner of the garden, so provide a lovely little shock
:-) those are pretty flowers.
and loosestrife, which is considered a pest and invasive, is lovely and has naturalized into the fishpond
I had a not so lovely shock when an invasive plant I got from my grandparents (and thought had died years ago) showed up by one of the paths this summer at a distance from where it had disappeared. Still need to go dig it out, but... it's one of those that can propagate from even a little piece in the ground.
oh yes -- I think loosestrife is categorized as "noxious" (must remove) around here.
son has decided to find and organise all of the family pictures in albums
what plant?
when he finishes with yours, send him over here!
it is so beautiful, magenta and tall (loosestrife) and fills in all the spaces between the rosebushes and evergreens
it is lovely
oh sammysmom! what a great kid!
it grows wild in the mountains
he will never finish...... lol.... walter and i have been married for 55 years........... there are probably thousands of them and only about 20 albums................. the rest are in boxes.......... and boxes............... and oxes
it's Japanese knotweed. I love how it looks, and where my grandparents lived it was too dry to invade away from the regular garden. But here, we don't have the automatic spread control.
I know about the boxes!
oh my -- I have pics in boxes, too. My grandmother taught me to at least write who and when on the backs of pics as they were developed, but even so... and now there are thousands of digital pics, too!
there was a decorative Japanese quince in a hidden corner and it has spread, suddenly into the potager and in a few other places. I'm delighted as it's the color (almost) of the house
we4ll, lessee..... he is 42 now and at th4e rate of an album a week.. ( that is whtn the mood hits after the first one)........ it could take how many years???????
I am looking up knotweed. Does it flower?
oh, that is a marvelous plant! I love the flowers. Mother says the fruit can be used like regular quince, too.
I don't think so, ruby -- it's an interesting foliage plant.
but the fruit is very small on mine
used to make quince jelly.... it was very nice
http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/plan ts/weeds/aqua015.html for knotweed
either of the te6s?
<-- loves quince jelly, but it's too hard to make. I just pick some of my quince each year to scent the kitchen
help with o on the bottom pls

Good clue.

In the Penalty Box?
uh oh, but I am exempt from the PB
And why is that?
cause I said so and because my name is often in the grid
Oh, I see. Anarchy.
Apparently it is an ice axe used in mountaineering although I used to have and ice axe and didn't call it that...
And since we all use ice axes on our frequent mountaineering trips, that word should jump right into our brains.
I'm still missing the bottom O
it is either or5/12 or ov5/16

Hi Min
having a better day Minveryork? I sure hope so. Every day is a new day
Love your icon Min. I know someone who has an antique Underwood. It's gorgeous.
{{{Min}}} hey all
I have about five minutes before I need to leave again...
me too stid. I am supposed to be outside cleaning the garage but this is more fun
Hi stidmama! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid.
Hello Bugsaw! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I weeded around the gooseberry today... and picked an entire QUART of fruit! And didn't need a bandaid for a change. :-)
I am very tired today. My dog was sick last night and I got 4 hours of sleep. Other than that I'm ok, thanks
oh, so sorry to hear that Min. It's hard to teach when tired.
I hope your dog gets well soon. He is a beauty
"Have you had enough, or would you like some moreos?" asked the host. *grin* I think we really need this word...
I think he had a stomach bug. Hubby took him to the vet and now he is on three different medications. My dog eats anything&everything outside so who knows!
vets are so expensive but definately needed. I feel so helpless when my pets get sick
yippee!! Grant's girlfriend's mother can give him a ride home, so I shall stay here with my feet up for a while.
how nice stid. offering choclits and tea
Lucky is under the weather, not sure if he is feeling poorly from running too much, or from eating something he doesn't like... he's asleep next to me instead of whining at me with his toy in his mouth. Will watch him and see if he improves by morning.
ah, thanks Bugs! you're a great host!
email me with any special requests before the meeting please stid. I would like to have things on hand
tadone! finitol
YAY LBD!
also let me know what kind of preparations you made for us. So far no-one has asked for anything except celiac friendly food
I will, bugs -- but mostly I will just bring my own food.
YAY lbd!
I was the only bizarro diet when you visited us. So it was easy to get ready for you!
gooseberries?? i would sell my sould for a quart jar of home made gooseberry jam...
soul
I picked a quart of gooseberries today cross!
i remember it as a child, but you never see it anymore
ty, ty. sleepy head here. bone tired, so i think i'm heading for a more restful position. see you all tomorrow, i hope.
sweet dreams lbd.
I have never had (or made) gooseberry anything, but this is the year!
sweet dreams LBD
on a hot summer day a gooseberry jam sammich and a cold glass of mile was like a dip in the swimming pond...:))
Congratulations lbdawger on your fireworks! Hooray!
stidmama! do up some jam,you will love it!!
Goodbye lbdawger! I will see you tomorrow in the log.
milk
slow down your typing cross, you're making me dizzy!
lol..sorry got excited
if you keep your gooseberry pactch to youself and quietly do up some gooseberry lam,you would get ruined in the rush if you secided to sell some
patch
decided
hell.ill let you translate my typing
:-) It's only one small shrub right now, but there are two offshoots that I found today that I will transplant this fall.
what grid are you doing crossy? these words are nuts
nurse them well stidmama
i am at a standstill bugsaw at 67 words in
I am down to 22 and starting to think I should list
it is a tough,tough grid
pref
oofs it must be catching crossy!
lol
I have 8 left and shoud go back to the garage and cobwebs again. see you all later
if you are down to 22 stidmama, then you are one of the chosen;)
36 left here and stalled as well.
later bugs!
too hot here for dusty garages,it if 94american out there
is
that's pretty warm, cross -- 30 or so by our measure?
sorry,i stand corrected,it has cooled to 86f in last hour
30c even now stidmama
or 86]
ah! I get confused when it's above 24. We rarely reach 30. 22 outside is considered a little too warm to work strenuously...
i agree stidmama,i start melting when it gets over 75 f
about 26c
problem is we have had exactly 5 minutes of rain in the last 3 and a half weeks;(
yep. I actually like it at 26, but I am considered peculiar. I wish you-all were getting our rain... you need it a lot more than we do!
all our lawns are now dead.we are in for a big reseeding/resodding next spring
A dangerous combination of heat and humidity will continue to affect portions of the Central Plains and Central Mississippi River Valley through midweek. Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings have been issued for this area through Wednesday where afternoon temperatures will continue to soar to over 100 degrees.
wow
You might consider reseeding with native prairie type plants that are adapted to low/no water in the summer...
oh gee, BR. That's awful.
we got to 106f today
we are still new to these temps stidmama
I planted a lot of things that are low-water once they are established because these rainy summers used to be the exception around here. Now, I think I need to put in a few things that like their feet wet.
Do you have external shades on your windows? I have some roller shades that I mounted outside the biggest windows a few years ago. Roll them down in the summer, and close the inside curtains and it really helps the house stay cooler.
for the first time today i saw a local home that did away with grass entirely and did a low rain type lawn with decorative stone wood chips and the like
TWENTY. I think I will list...
if you are t twenty, you deserve to list
no grass at all..it was unique on the block
but s the climate changes,we are getting warmer and must adapt
that sounds really nice, cross! Our yard (acre) is too big for that, and the septic design requires grass. Otherwise, I really prefer wildflowers, clovers and annual, non-running or perennial clumping grasses in addition to native plants.
Tom, however, likes to mow things. So lawn. And it was good to have lawn when the kids were little, too.
i also fondly remember the childhood passage of rite in being allowed to use a gas powered machine to mow the lawn
true -- so many things are tied to those memories. If our yard were more flat, I think we'd relevel it now and use a push/rotary mower, but there are too many levels and angles for that. One of these days, though, I will have the orchard mostly in wildflowers... *grin*
sad part was we had toad that resided in the high grass if it was not mowed often enough....
toads
poor little guys!
pi 6 is giving me fits...
it was a bloody carnage

Sue's clue ---> poses are ped, pi5s are blue

ty ruru
speaking of rabbit ears, I don't think I have seen Scrabs around for a while.
she's camping no?
Molly will run out of adjectives about the same time Enable runs out of words we have never seen before.
fo6/30?
she has been on fb
speaking of bunnies I have not seen weed around lately
Scrabs was here this morning - had been on vacation in the Adirondacks - hiking and paddling
That fo 6/27 word is enemy plus babbler ***gone kje.

Seeing the fo7,44, it seems to me that in addition to currency and other things, enable seems to have a fondness for sailing terms.

Hey there, Dorens.

who knows, but it rhymes with an african vi 6 and that's all we need,j
now i have to go look it up :-(
it's an axe
goodness, i never bother with that. i don't remember them by tomorrow anyway
ouch! it is an ax used in mountaineering!
i sometimes do like the goose and the needlepoint case and now zarf! my favorite which means either. . .
annoying man or the metal holder for a coffee glass
i knew the needle case from crossword puzzles (and my mother playing scrabble).. i did learn the goose here and another one or two, i must admit
many men are annoying
but what a great word and two completely different definitions!
