Don finally went through all his video tapes. he has most of them on dvd, so we had a huge clean-out. and all the dvd's now have a home on the shelves.
I have two vcr's! I still have tapes to watch as well...now I'm halfway and dozing...
one of the guys from church, came in response to Don's email. and took the whole lot, much to his wife's chagrin. lol

True welki, so we feel fortunate to live in a rural area where it's not uncommon for people to have a few animals still. These smaller farms actually have the slaughter on site to minimize trauma to the animals who don't travel well. And then there is a local butcher shop that prepares the meat. Of course, there are "us" the local folks and the city people who are moving in because it is picturesque but don't know a hock from a butt...
Our place is too small for anything but chickens, but Tom has put his foot down on chickens... LOL so we buy our eggs and meat from our friends.

first one was a good 8 weeks. second one they did a newer, less disruptive procedure, and it was more like 4 weeks
what was the disruptive procedure?
they cut the muscle - otherwise they push it aside (at least that is my rather superficial understanding)
less distruptive?
that's where they push the muscles out of the way rather than cutting them - it makes for a faster recovery but I guess it must be trickier or something
(sorry this is a little explicit)

anyway, if you have it done you have to be really good about the rehab - it is hard but you need to do it to get full range of motion
