was today another good day for you rose?
dee, was pushing the knee today. increased the number of reps, and also deepened the knee bends. pushed most of my weight through the right knee....so....a little more sore this arvo.
wow sounds like a tough one
but achievement wise, it was great.
with pt always seem to have to hurt alot before it gets better
di 7 alt spel of di 6/21 (double a consonant in the middle)
that is so true. mind you, if anyone says no pain, no gain to me one more time.....
I'd smack em
isn't usually someone who doesn't really know?
probably the therapist
lol...the thought has crossed my mind....several times. you should see Don's face when someone says that when he is around.
When they said that to our daughhter when she to4 up her knee and later her ankle, I always thought it was said by those who had never been injured or operated on...
someone needs to teach them new phrases for sure
dee, most of the medical/nursing/allied health workers have ne5 experienced what they are treating patients for.
totally agree
i guess with all th4 i have been through, it sort of makes me a better nurse. i KNOW exactly what my patients are experiencing and thinking.
I bet it does enhance empathy, sympathy, and knowing when and how far to push
of 7 x 3
then again, knowing how ha4 i push myself....perhaps i sometimes expect too much?....nah.....don't think so! but i do know what can be achieved.
ooops meant ov 7 x 3
you seem to be progressing amazingly fast
a good friend of ours had his hip replaced yesterday.. hoping his recovery isn't hideous
exactly half way, time for bed and a busy day tomorrow, so may not finish
oh, yes? i remember you telling us, was it last week when you told us? has he been up yet?
have a fabulous day tomorrow!!
night flosey, sleep well, hun
tyty
they got him up first thing this morning to sit on bed; then this afternoon he walked from bed to door of room... watching him closely though for bladder output and more blood draining than they really want... hopefully in next 24 hours everything will calm down
usually the way, dee. first time moving can precipitate a bleed. but all will settle overnight i'm sure.
I sure hope so... this is same friend who had lumbar surg about 8 weeks ago, so he has had a bunch in a short time
his wife is so exhausted and weary... feel bad for her
once he actually recovers from the surgeries, I think he'll feel like a million bucks
lots of T.L.C. for his wife. and prayers for them both.
ty so very much :)
fw's here
It is amazing how much scarier surgeries are when we are older - had to have a bunch when I was in my 20's and 30's... never was very anxious or worried, but once we all hit 50, I hate when friends or family need surgery
fw?
lol, dee, th4s because when we are younger, we are immortal, nothing can harm us.
LOL tooooooo true
yes, dee...fw's!!!
Congrats Rose. Hello too.
Hi Volley, haven't seen you for ages
{{{{lyn}}}}}} and how are you this fine winter's day?
((((lynxxx))))) so good to see you
crabby but otherwise OK. and you? you must be getting ready to go back to work (on light duties!) soon?
no light duties here....back into the workhouse on the 3rd of september. i think i will be okay.
aww, lyn...crabby? how come?
really? can you at least get some 'light' shifts?
lyn, it's only standing and walking, i have shown i can do th4.... they might consider reduced hours....will have to wait until my immediate boss gets back from annual leave.am going back to 3 x 8 hours and 1 x 6 hours
lyn, it's only standing and walking, i have shown i can do th4.... they might consider reduced hours....will have to wait until my immediate boss gets back from annual leave.
Have just had some roof maintenance done..but the most important thing was not done. It will be taken care of - just hate having to complain and whinge to get things done properly.
oh wow do I hear you about that.... lawn workers, plumber... seems lately like all I have done is crab... if we are paying for work, why oh why can't they just do it properly the first time
* shakes head* workmen don't realise do they? do it properly the first time, bucko!!!
experiencing really blase attitudes here... they just do not care
* giggle * snap dee
what did they miss lyn?
why not, dee? is there some sort of 'dole' payment? or is close enough, good enough?
It may have been a bit of a language barrier (indian) however that is should not be my problem and they should be following up on his work
absolutely... well, granny, the lawn guy is going to get a rude awakening when I get his bill
My roof tiles are 90 years old. Still good. However in between where the tiles overlap there is 90 years worth of 'crap' mostly from the plane trees in street I am guessing. The tiles had to be lifted and cleaned, then relayed - especially in one area - which is what he didn't do
sometimes I think they hire those of different ethnic groups so they conveniently not speak English
yipes... I would be very aggravated about that... probably the toughest part of the job and he didn't want to work that hard
Not in this case I think. His english was very good..but perhaps the comprehension was not fully there. Though God knows I showed him around and waved my arms around enough and must have said it about 6 times
darn, lyn, very frustrating
anyway...phones the Boss and he will come and check and send other guys to do that bit. And the cleaned roof does look very pretty
glad for that, but know you will be much happier when the entire job is done properly
..and of course they don't get the money until done
that is always the best leverage
I just hate the hassel
Yes - the rain coming through the ceiling inside during rain events is just a small issue!!!
did anything inside get damaged?
lyn, had the roof done on my house in Tecoma last year. so glad i did given the wet winter we are having.
Tecoma?
between belgrave and upwey...
Nothing major Volley
Oh I know where it is, very pretty,- but thats not where you live is it?
no, live in Upper FTG, son lives there with his wife. the son who is doing an apprenticeship.
Very pretty up there Volley, all hilly, and green, tree ferns...where you take tourists for drives to 'show off'
sounds lovely
lol, trying to lo4 the tourists!!!! and the sunday drivers. sometimes makes you want to pull your hair out.
lol
fireworks
have lived in and around the Dandenong Ranges since 1979.
never mind..hopefully they stop and spend money and keep the businesses up there support and provide some sort of employment
Congrats Volley
WTG DEE!!!!
well I am off til the morrow; hope you both have a great day!
good point lynn hugs to both of you!!
ty rose
My bigger brother is in Boronia now and the younger brother in (what was) Croydon Hills
night, dee. try and rest well, my friend
Bye Volley
ty so much, you, too. Night!!
and so when are you coming to visit me??? hmmm??
They all moved out from Box Hill while I moved in the opposite direction
rofl
I probably go up that direction only once a year. He is to come down here next time. But I will bear you in mind! Are you near the end of Burwood Highway?
yes, lyn, before you go up the hill towards upwey. just before the railway bridge.
Close in spirit to only one brother...the younger I haven't seen for ...probably 10 years (a long story and boring)
I won't make a date now but I really will remember
when you do decide to come up, email me, addy in my profile.
AND we have a Hahndorf chocolate shop just around the corner.
i can hear you dribbling from here
good morning
lol, lyn.

no sorry.. still need it lol
btw, solved the mystery of the vibration in our new bathroom. whenever the hot tap was turned on, terrible sound of pipes etc banging. after climbing into the roof space and anchoring all the pipes down, Don finally decided to change the tap washers on the newly bought taps. ( after he had cut a hole in the plaster to check out the pipes in the wall)
ouch. the walls ok now?
A's done.
tapestry, usually behind an altar. ar + egyptian sun god + plural letter
nope, there's a hole in the plaster behind the fridge. ( it backs onto the sh5d wall of the bathroom and kitchen. told him to leave it. it can be filled in when we reno the kitchen.
at least its behind the fridge
cos, all very frustrating. these were brand new tap fittings, and the washers were faulty.
98 and see you later, mr. charming is back
well i have ahuge hole in my shower still :(
lol, ruby. no peace for you, dear friend.
cos, it's called a drain hole....it's meant to be there.( ducks under the table)
lol no it collapsed. reported it a month ago. they ahvent sent anyone
hehehehe
we;re calliing the state attorney general tomorrow to file a slumlord complaint
now th4 is frustrating. do you not have an agent to act as a go-between? or is it the agents playing up?
its a case of an awful landlord.
the basement to the building is flooded, causing mold
oh, yuck. th4's disgusting!
my window frames and door frame are rotten.. so nothing closes right. bugs get in
we[re moving in Jan
bigger apt, nicer, with a/c -- but in the bad part of town. go figure
poor cos, nothing worse than bugs mid-gasp.
we had to lie to the gas company and tell them we smelled gas
january is a long time away, cos. will you make it in one piece?
so they would come out and they saw our stove and said wow thats bad.
and then the state forced the landlord to give us a stove that wasnt made in 1970
cos, how you going with the grid?
183 left.
thinking bed soon. maybe when im down to 150
okay, cos. see you at the flip?
sounds good :)
later, then. night
* poof *
*tiptoes through so as not to wake anyone...* ;p
*raises head momentarily from grid, grumbles something inaudible about the bloody noise and then goes back to grid...*
:D
hi all, back with 105 to go
go, diz, go! :)
I have 160 left, they are coming more slowly now.
does the pa9 come from any 7's or 8's (or 6's or 5's, etc, etc, heehee)
from the pa 6/21...think police when when they are on the lookout.....hope it helps
ooh! th4 helped immensely, ty!
pa9: the father of the monster under the bridge on a walkabout.
WTG!!!
LOL, Dachef!

hi all

nbt
bbl 186 left
Hi jm if you're still here
Wow, what with the Mars Ro5 and the Large Ha6 Collider, this is certainly the science issue of babble...
hi jayk i am back for a minute
hi everyone....hows todays grid?
i was whizzing along for a while . . .
me too; then got to 75 left. now listing
Good morning/afternoon all. I think the grid takes a bit of work.
I agree with Haz - there's certainly a little more to this one than meets the eye!
still 186 left for me. . . the workers are here with a radio and it is distacting
hi haz
but the station is interesting it seems to be latino jazz
latino jazz???!
Hello, jmc. Get your Carmen Miranda headdress on.
this grid reminds me of a friend who want to open a combination law office and bakery and call it To4-5s and ta4/4s
If you don't have one, you could get it at the ha8/45.
haha!
well the announcer is in spanish but the music is more like jazz than anything else
Gosh, Haz, I would never have guessed that was a word. Nice clue :)
Only problem is that it's actually a New Zealand lizard, but who cares. I say it's where Carmen Miranda gets her headgear.
That is somehow disappointing. I think I prefer it your way.
I know - a lizard versus a fruit bowl hat. There's no contest, is there?
ty haz i did not have that
You're welcome, jmc.
well i was thinking about taking a nap but with that radio th** is out
they are right under my bedroom window. . . which is i suppose an improvement from when i would wake up and they would be on the scaffolding next to my bedroom windo
Are the builders Spanish?
yes the contractor is argentine and he only hires hispanics because he thinks blacks are lazy. . . of course, my former secretary who was black used to tell me how lazy hispanics are. . . whatever
JMC is dancing in a Carmen Miranda hat? I need more coffee. : )
pour me some molls
Here you go, fresh ground.
*shake shake shake* no too early in the morning for me
*sigh* mmmmmm ty molls
Good morning, Molly.
Hey Haz, nice to see you here. : )
Thank you. I'll keep the drama to a minimum...
*sigh* the virtual coffee just isn't cutting it. . . i need real bbl
171 left
Haz, just got a good laugh from your icon. : D
It's funny, isn't it? Not the best drawn cartoon in the world but the word play amused me.

No. Hadron collider is not in U.S.

NORAD.
aaahhhh
ohhh, NORAD!
judi stumped the chumps!!
I know. Silly and obscure.
neither silly nor obscure
Ferris Beuller was on the other day. I always get sucked in to that movie. So hilarious.
i think ones i ask just tend to be overly easy.
but fun, hurshy
I need help with the ov 8 please
indeed!!
I should give some points. The ha6/24 is made up of the same letters.
name that proper noun, Simone Beauvoir's lo5
Except for the H, of course.
put too much strain on, buttonman, it's compound.
sartre
ding ding dong!!!
:-D
another proper noun, actor Peter *****
Lorre
Lorre
ding ding ding!
not familiar to our younger Babblers, I'm sure LOL
i am a younger babbler... well i mean i'm 35
I remeber Mr. Lorre. The actor who most looked like a Pug.
i really can't picture him, don't know what movies he was in, just know the name
hurshy got it and she's a youngster
VERY distinctive face and voice, hursh
The Maltese Falcon
wait is he the "usual suspect" guy from casablanca?
well, i meant REALLY young -- we have some twenty-somethings :-)
well i was that young when i started babbling...
yes ok i know who he is then
Hurshy, I have the one for overworked...it is the first one I need!
ok fine
hey, buttonman ;-)
well button, i didn't know there were two, you said ov8, so i looked for one!
hi, uneai
ok i found another one, that tablecloth was ov8 on that other tablecloth
there are actually three ov 8's
ov8---to put down too much soil
thanks for trying Hurshy
that it, thanks!
hmmm overdirt doesn't work LOL
LOL, my clue was the same as hurshy's but hers is better
i hope the presence of tr5 in the grid is not going to mean we have them today.
I thought the same when I saw tr5
just found another ov8 that means to do to much (not soil related)
Oh...y'all had it...sorry...didn't read back far enough
I have ov4-dosed on Ov's. I need a break. BBL. *POOF*
why are p's so hard????
phantom: leotard

mm,too early for a shot of the creature,so here, have a nice glass of orange juice in celebration!
Good morning everyone!
hello car
Hi hurshy!
well i have the two ov8 that button pointed us to, but i have no other 8's, so if anyone has any...
just saw the reference to peter lorre: watch the movie "M" if you want to see his best performance
i think M represents lazy movie naming.

ov8, too harsh?
ty, bzz!
how many ov8's ARE there?
ov8 x 3 -- only have 1

Actor Barry Fitzgerald was Oscar-nominated in 1945 for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for playing a priest in Going My Way. He won the latter but conceivably could have won two Oscars for playing one role. The rules were later changed to prevent this from happening again.
sounds like a good rule change.

am in ecstasy over a bacon and tomato sandwich. yes, bacon... i indulge once in a while.. but this beautiful august jersey tomato fresh from the farm in the next town...worth its weight in gold.
oh man.. I love BLT's
i had a blt on monday- the tomato came from my garden- major yum!!
I'm so envious
napa grows tomatoes.. but they're not as good :P
true.. actually too hot here
no - they get the vino- good trade. :-)
I think it's okay to indulge in bacon once in a while. : )
and great restaurants
i don't have enough sun here for vegetable garden, but I give the farms and farmers' markets a lot of business
absolutely ... to ru, molly and wolvie
thats the way to do it Dorens. :-)
I would pork out on bacon if i let myself indulge
2nd of the day. :D
I remember going out to dinner with my jewish friends in NY and was shocked when they ordered pork
Yes Ru, you'd probably go hog wild.
we always ate it at home, even... my parents were relatively antisemitic jews
I guess Doren could say with her sandwich.. no swine before its time?
oh ru....
:D
lol- and with that, i will take a break- u guys gave me a bacon craving. Lunchtime!
I have a great recipe for BLT dip that is one of those things that vanishes quickly at a party.

how is hubby? recovered from pnemonia?
sort of. He finished his antibiotics but is still a little rattly around the chest. His doc says it's nothing, but he's not very sharp
le5 and embankment to stop flooding dbble vowel ending
as long as he finishes the course of the meds..too many superbugs out there
... ve4/4 ... girl's name ... ve8/55 ... add an ending which suggests three ... ... then ve7/40 ... truthfulness
I'm just concerned with his having 2 pneumonias within such a short time
... yes it's concerning ... but it might be it's the same bug that just got put down and then when the drug course was finished came back
no, the last one was in January
yes,it can leave scarring
I think he has become susceptible, too skinny
... how are his immune levels? ... sounds like a bug is just hanging around waiting for a time when he's overly tired or mildly bothered by something else
it may just be that he's old; I think pneumonia is what takes many people
my f.i.l was same way, rail thin every bug that floated around,he got
there are injections to boost immune levels
when I met him, he weighed about 190 (too fat) and then has been up and down. Now weighs about 130 or less
i know, had em with my chemo
wow
he could use that weight now
I try to make his favorite foods but he won't eat very much -- tends to leave half a slice of toast or half a potato.....
ensure protein drinks as part of daily food intake?
you can now get ensure clear as well
he wouldn't "deign" to take a supplement as he doesn't think he's old and likes being thin!
would be perfect for him
he's even given up martinis
ask him if he would design to live?
won't eat peanuts
anything you can think of stuffed with protien
I can only do so much.....
sunflower seeds?
his daughter is coming again for his birthday in Sept and maybe she can talk to him about his (too low) weight.
hazel nuts? nutella?
peanut butter?
he's never eaten peanut butter, if you can imagine, and won't eat butter or ice cream
or drink milk
... was going to suggest small meals and continuous smacking but you're well beyond my experience ...
mmm eggs? lots of egg yolks in food prep?
buttermilk?
I helped him lose weight with the Sout Beach Diet which I modified for him to make it palatable. But he is very stubborn
as was my fil
will only eat two whole eggs a week, wants egg-white omelets
we had to fight to get him to eat half a sandwich at lunch
he eats half a sandwich for lunch, too. hahah
and if we eat lunch out, he feeds most of his lunch to the restaurant dog or brings it home for Ruby
yup..figured as much..he sould exactly like fil
when my friend's elderly mother was in the same position, we added honey to her tea, switched her from low fat to full fat cottage cheese, cooked her veg in butter instead of olive oil, added cream to her soup--all without saying anything to her
we finally got father in law to gdrink ensure the last 2 years of is like.i swear it was the only thing that kept him foing
there's only so much a wife can do;; I'm not his mother!
ahh very good kateq, sneak it in:)
sounds like what you may have to do ruby..sneak it in
when I make roast chicken for him, like I did tonight, I stuff it with vegetables and butter and slather it with butter before it's cooked but he doesn't eat the skin
exactly--she too was so stubborn and wouldn't agree toalter anything
I add butter to his vegetables, though, and he just thinks they taste good
sounds like mr ruby
i got my f.i.l with his big weakness,,cherry cheese cake
when I had chemo, crossy, I would come out of each session absolutely starving and would load up on food before I slept for 18 hrs!
she did the same--would say how goodher string beans or mashed potatoes were--not knowing they were loaded with butter and cream
i would cut him 1/4 of the pie lol,and a big glass of 4% milk
i read a study about how important good oral hygeiene is on preventing pneumonia (and similar infections) in the elderly.
he won't eat mashed potatoes
good advice also brid
yes brid
will he eat scalloped?
cause with scalloped you can add all kinds of rich stuff
you are all giving me good ideas for "enriching" the little he eats
yes, that will be your weapon ruby, enriching what he does eat
grilled cheese sammiches, use the thick slices and butter in the pan
he won't eat any cheese
all cream soups use 4% milk,no water
did I mention stubborn?
does "muscle milk" taste any better or worse than "ensure" for mixing into things?
18% cream for his coffe
black coffee
i do not know muscle milk, but ensure has a odd after taste
I would also put little dishes of walnts or pecans and raisins or dried fruit and chocolate bits and so forth---just small portions of little treats--on the table beside her chair--she would often nibble at these despite saying she didn't want any
sorry to butt in, but how is he with fried foods, Ruby? If he won't eat a lot of things, then perhaps just changing the cooking style could help?
won't eat fried food
and the organic stores (like trader joes) make juices (green veggie juice; all fruit juice) that you can slip into recipes for their content.
tell him crossy says we can pay extra to have stubborn carved nice and deep on his headstone..lol
last ov 8/60??
last ov 8/60??
if he still drank martinis, I could get him to eat nuts, but now there's no "cocktail hour"
yes indeed katew,we did same with fil we called them "snack bombs" lol
ov 4/7 + skin irritation
ty kateq
will he drink any other alcohol? that's rather fattening, isn't it?
tyvm Kateq! and howdy all (-: Reading the chat is making me hungry..
... to work someone too hard
with my fil we snack bombed him with good and plentys and peanut brittle..does he like peanut brittle ruby?
won't eat any sweets
we got her to sip sweet sherry (awful stuff, I think)--gave her tiny portions in beautiful glasses--and then refills
even dark chocolate which he loves
oh,you said no peanuts...
mmm
whew, fireworks. adios, y'all.
yaa for hokie!!
yay carla!
thanks kate
wtg, carla, congrats!!
well he seems to have tall the bases blocked does he not?
maybe his daughter can talk sense into him as I think he just tunes me out
all
ruby, discuss with your doctor marinol tablets
that is the last thing to try
tell him they are a vitamin, whatever
what is marinol?
marinol is THC in tablet form..it will give him the munchies
and is def required in this case
I could add some stuff like that to his soup
you doc will agree i am sure
I wonder if they have that in France
wow, Crossy! wouldn't it also make him high?
ask about marinol,please?
no andrew, the tablets do not work like that
high would be OK
.. agree with crossy.. best approach from the inside out.. lift the spirits and he will have an appetite
it is at most a mild body buzz like half an oxycodone
but it soulnd like the current weight could be dangerous
ohh, that's alright then. I just thought he'd probably notice if he was laughing at the clouds all afternoon :)
no,not like that andrew
my fil was shutting down to the point where he was 98 pounds
original weight `160
how old was he, crossy?

Sorry, i dont have that either
also sorry about your feet!
Kazz, sorry you have been going through rough times. Scattering ashes can be tough, it's another goodbye.
yep - he died on 11/11/11 but mum has only just got to the point where she was strong enough to give it a go
hi everyone!
ty glan
my son scattered the ashes which was lovely cos they both missed the funeral - mum was rushed to hospital and Richard went with here
Hi Cos
Different families have different ways. We didn;t scatter, neither have we visited the plot - but dad was put into a wildflower sanctuary in a place that was very similar to his home
hi Molly
Hi Cos
Hi Molly
A wildflower sanctuary sounds like a wonderful place to scatter ashes.
ooh that sounds lovely - Dad was scattered in the same place as my niece
be back later off to Tesco's
Well, it is on a wild welsh hillsadie. he lived on another wold welsh hillside with very similar views. So mum and I knid of think he would have felt himself at home there and we have left him alone
Molly - season 1 of OUAT is back on sundays on abc - every week til season 2- and Sept 9th OUAT marathon on abc
May I please have a clue for di? coudnt find it last nite and no one was on to ask :)
hi all

Hi jmc
di 7 sorry

tyvm ame
ov 7/44, please (following mechanic's jumpsuit)
more probable to.
Same beginning + abbreviation for a small set of rooms your rent.
Cos : D I've been doing my own Once Upon A Time marathon on hulu all summer. I'm so ready for Season 2.
ty molly
molly i have a favor to ask u actually. its not a big favor - a simple one?
Ask away : )
can you, next time youw atch amazon prime, check to see if captions and subtitles work on any of them?
especially west wing :)
They don't, I've already tried because I use closed caption when I can't understand a line in a show. Apparently, Amazon is taking a lot of heat about this, as well they should.
260 down and time for a lunch break - bbl
ahh thanks molly... ugh. we will have to wait til NAD v Netflix closes to have a precedent.
but the good news? NAD is winning. the courts ruled web based businesses MUST comply with ADA
If I were you, I would contact Amazon and tell them that you were considering a Prime membership, but can't because there is no closed caption. They are uber good about customer service and you might get some kind of discount once they do.
hmm good idea though molly... yes. i should do that. ive never had complaints about their cust. services. always satsfied when i talk to them
It is ludicrous and discriminatory for any web streaming company to NOT have closed caption. I can't believe they are getting away with it.
is closed caption what we call subtitles? writing on screen
kind of Glan..
CC is on TV. white on black
subtitles are just one color usually
mostly on dvds
oh, i think we call them all subtitles here
the CC association was here before we had subtitles. started in the early 1980s. the very first show to be captioned was Dynasty which s why they have a massive deaf fan base
i see
I grew up watching Dynasty.. at age 5 or 6. because it was the only thing captioned lol
so are you deaf cos?
yes.
i have a deaf friend who has recently had cochlear implants inserted nehind her ears
she is in her 40s and is enjoying music for the first time since her childhood
ahhh. its a huge controversy here
she also had problems for a whilm in hearing too much noise
why the controversy?
me -- im indifferent to it. doctors sat 50/50 chance it will work for me so im not gonna bother.
because being Deaf is an identity. not a disability.
Deaf pride. Theres a huge deaf culture.. arts, books, etc
(one's side's argument)
I guess that might depend on whether a personhas been deaf all their life or has become deaf
the other side is - CIs will help succeed in life (thats bs imo). yes exactly glan. i assume ur friend is late deaf?
i am totally unaware of any deaf pride kovement over here - but then why would i know about it
my friend was partially deaf as a young person then went totally deaf in her early 20s
ahh eys that would make sense glan
I love my amazon prime subscription. Great movies and lots of good shows. I was so jazzed when they recently added all seasons of The West Wing.
Oh, and you get free two day shipping too. : )
im so jealous molly. i have been wanting to watch west wing for a while now.
f/w. any clues needed?
my friend os just very happy to be able to hear her partner speak - she had never heard her voice until last year and thye have been together 15 years
woo hoo amelu
ahhh that is reall y sweet gan :) wtg amelu!

The second ends in what you get from poison ivy.

31.
:)
yes, 25 too many :-)
wooo monkeyed the first pa7 on first try
i tried that several times with a t instead of a d
yeah thats a tequila isnt it? the one with the t
Si
i thought it was italian for the same word without the e on the ned :-)
It is, it's also a brand of Tequila.
me + tequila = holy sh--!
Tequila makes me gag.
woo hoo - just got the 9 - NBT & NBS
wtg glan!
not a brand of tequila here but i do love my margaritas
we get jose cuervo
and we used to get their mixer buyt i haven't been able to find that for months :-(
i just use lime juice
pa6 after what happens to cons who are released?
just lime huice and tequila?
sounds he same cos
but has double consonant in cente
next pa6 is the same but with differnt last vowel
no wait. i need the one after that
lime juice tequila triple sec and salt
quantities, k=jmc? in==enquiring minds need ot know LOl
(deaf president now) ;-)
u know jmc.. king jordan is now one of the most reviled deaf leaders.
he cant go out to deaf events anymore. he is so hated.
pa4/5 + al and pa4/5 + el
one part lime one part triple sec and two parts tequila is the traditional mix . . .for frozen put it all in a food processor with the ice and then crush
who is king jordan, or shoudln;t i ask/
ahh tyvm!
glan - king jordan was the first deaf president of Gallaudet University - the world's only college for the deaf
ooh, need to go buy limes tomorrow
my hubby and i were taking sign language courses at gally then. . . and i was hated because i was married to a straight deal man
I make margaritas with Cointreau instead of triple sec. Glan it's about 2 oz of Tequila, an ounce of lime juice and an ounce of triple sec or Cointreau for each drink.
so the pres of gallaudet is the unoffcial leader of the deaf world.
is he a proponent of deaf pride?
i already have cointreau
yes glan . u cant be a leader if ur not lol
ha8, ve8 plz
jmc - do u remember what building u took classes in?
he was an object of deaf pride since there had never been a deaf president of the college
if a pizzaria is a place where you eat pizzasm where would you eat hats?
too long ago . . . more than 20 years
ha8
like pizzeria but for hats not pizzas
not being a goat i try to avoid eating hats. . . but i do have this carmen miranda hat left ov** from this morning
ha8 starts out like an Outer Banks lighthouse island and ends like a lunch room...
tyvm for the ha8!

*passes out fruit on a plate*
*Cues up Carmen Miranda music*
oh, yummy, love fruit

should have taken latin in collge then
i covered my blueberry bushes with net curtains LOL
ughhhh and i entered ve4 before i said that lol
ty glan a latin term i know
in vino ver****
I laugh when people clue words here with "it's Latin for ____". News flash, we don't all know Latin.
i was so surprised to get berries after 20 years it didn't occur to me glan
most people know this latin word, even if they don't know latin - and they know it's a latin word too

Yes Cos, the beginning of it.
*gasp* glan!

yes. definitely reminds me of HP :)
i have read them but they didn;t stay in the memory
No, I don't need a clue. I have all the v words. I just laugh at the clues sometimes. Like "it's a South American animal corral". OH YEAH, that's right on the tip of my tongue.
ve7=misspelled modifier meaning lots + british goodbye pl
i got a clue once a few mmonths ago... something like "a powder used in the late 1770s"
??? glad i didn;t have to get it from that clue jmc :-)
im like wow.... lol i do appreciate the clues though ...
haha that is a clue i would goodle
Cos, that is laughable. : D
:-P glan
yes. i had to google it lol
i'd have to google that clue too
actually i binged it
when people give clues like that i use bing, word for word .usually does the trick :)
how is bing compared to google?
well down to 65 listless and stuck
can't get on with bing
Thanks Glantarell got them .
hi peri!

That is very cool Cos. I was just telling someone that I want to start a company and only hire people over 40.
oh that is a pretty good idea Molly
and im not even 40 lol
People over 40 are having a hard time getting jobs because employers want young people who don't demand higher salaries.
right. which actually hurts the economy more

ty Molly

um. 35 keft, all R. Need a glass of wine for this LOL
Unfortunately, employers are not interested in helping the economy. They are only interested in lowering their bottom line, so as to keep their own personal cushy salary high.

You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead—your next stop, the Twilight Zone. —Rod Serling

Jimmy Stewart and June Allyson...the Benny Goodman story. i love the song Little Brown Jug. have it in a musical stein.
I remember one about a man who travelled back in time to buy up land with oil on it, thinking he would get rich, only to find that the sellers knew that there was oil on it, but the drills that could drill deep enough to get it hadn't been invented yet.

More cookies for me.

or a tingle probe
oh then shirl and molls come too
*no comment*
And I quote "one da4 and I knew". I don't mention the PB anymore, since so many people just blurt words out in chat nowadays. It seems redundant to send anyone to the PB.

Don't worry Welkie. A lot of it is beyond comprehension.
<---checks welki's tingle meter
well i wasn't sure how to design a foil hat to cover the pancake
Other than my husband, I have never heard anyone use the phrase "the cat's ass". Is it a Canadian thing?
hey ru keep your hands off other people's tingle meters
doubtful - i'm not an 'original' canadian
ive never heard that before.. but then again ive never heard anything before
Okay, I must get the gossip straight. Red is having casual sex and Ru is messing with Welki's tingle.

and cosd isn't hearing what anyone says
urban dictionary has one entry that says the phrase may be of canadian origin
I send all the gossip to Cos in sign language. : P
*shake shake shake...shake shake shake...shake your booty...shake your booty

haha at the annual quaker meeting i was at last week i sang "you're so plain. . .you probably think this song is about you"
fun is good TO
we had a plain dress quaker come on stage and camp while we sang
funny!
You walked into the Meeting House like you had just come in from the farm Your plain straw hat was dipped below one eye Showing your Quaker charm You never looked in the mirror and an insect you’d never harm And all the Friends dreamed you’d protest together, protest together You’re so plain – you probably think this song is about you You’re so plain! I bet you think this song is about you Don’t you? Don’t you? I had a dream you put soy in your herb tea; soy in your herb tea. You’re so plain – you probably think this song is about you You’re so plain! I bet you think this song is about you Don’t you? Don’t you? I heard you went up to Occupy and took New York by storm Then you marched on down to Washington And took a Senator by the arm Well you’re where you should be all the time And when you’re not you’re with Some news reporter or the Dalai Lama, the Dalai Lama You’re so plain you – you probably think this song is about thee You’re so plain! I bet you think this song is about thee Don’t thee? Don’t thee?
Brilliant!

Hi all - about to call it a night with only 150. Saw your post and just had say something.
then we sang a song for the development commitee: participation. . .is making us stronger
glad you piped in jindigo
was that to the tune of the carly simon song?
yes to both of the songs...i claimed she had a quaker writer but she didn't like the original lyrics. . .
We can never know (for sure) about the dollars to come But we budget for them anyway….ay….ay And we wonder if Friends will step up to the plate And write a check or give online as they are led to participate! Participation, participation Is makin’ us great! Is makin’ us stronger And we tell you how easy it is to join with other Friends And that many gifts would expand our possibility…y….y Oh we, we wrote these words just late last night As we were thinking about potential generosity Participation, participation Is givin’ us weight! Is keepin’ us solvent And next fiscal year, with cards and calls and sweet requests We ask ALL Friends to give to BYM And if more Friends would make a gift, be it large or small There’d be a balanced budget and there’d truly be enough for all There’d be enough for all There’d be a balanced budget and there’d truly be enough for all There’d be enough for all
now you know the real me
