Propelling my body by running is very challenging. Kayaking is easiest, hiking is hard, biking is less difficult

When I op4/5ed the Babble website, was happy to see a small grid.I have one word le4/5 so here is a story of clues. When I was little, I fe 4/9 and broke one of my le 4/6 while I was skiing. My mother said. "le 4/4 go to the hospital." A friendly nu5/12 put a cast on me.I wore the cast for a month. When the cast came off, I still fe4/7 a ti6/24 in my leg.Even to this day,my leg still ti7/36. After that, I qu4/7 skiing for good. My mother ur4/7d me to go skiing again,but I took up something el4/4.I began snow shoeing. My hubby wants a tu4/5 on the computer and has sugge4/6ed that I give him the computer. I will give it to him before he ge 4/6 angry and things get te 5/10. I hate it when he ru 4/4s my Babbling time. I just want to wr 5/22 his neck! mklein - should be a couple of hours drive, clear motorways (freeways) allowing, which they often don't. People *will* keep on having accidents (which now seem to be termed 'incidents') an blocking things up. Sorry, didn't mean to sound flippant.
Roads in rural England can be "interesting", but lots more pleasant that driving here.
I'm not sure if there are more accidents/incidents because there is more traffic during school holidays or if people just don't know how to drive these days, and not try to talk on cell phone/text/look at maps/ bash annoying kids asking 'are we there yet?' in the back or what.

mklein - it's done almost nothing BUT rain here. The Gulf Stream is apparently a bit off course this year. That 'bit' has caused all sorts of mayhem around the globe.
People have drowned, people have burned to death, crops have failed, prices will go up. Some people may have profited from the change but most won't have.
You had good weather for the olympics tho. I think the rain is better than the drought. I have a few weeds in my yard but thats it.

Good weather in London, yes, but not in a lot of other places in UK. Rain is not good here, since the water table is at maximum and our house is in danger of flooding at least once a week all this so-called summer.

As to whether the Olympic Games were good for the economy - we'll have to wait and see if the books balance. It was certainly good for morale, but, given that the government is still intent on going ahead with its plan for reducing the size of and selling off school playing fields, it doesn't bode well for encouraging future athletes.:-(
It's the same here. The first thing to cut to balance the budget is schools and libraries. It was a beautiful games though. I watched every day.
I do wish that governments worldwide would stop chasing the Money God and start looking at the People and the Earth Gods instead. But such is the nature of mankind that it will go relentlessly on until our planet is all but destroyed.
Glad you liked the games. We made quite a good job of it, didn't we? I do think the Olympic Flame should have been left lit until the Paralympic Games have been done, though.
They are just as important!
I don't like the way they see, to have been sidelined as an afterthought.

disneyjessi, I see you homeschool. My dog walker is a girl who gets home-schooled. How does your son like it
he likes it, lots of field trips and time spent on things he enjoys.
he attended public schools until grade 3
Field trips? You mean you take him to places? So what made you decide to home-school,if you do not mind me asking. I've always been curious about home schooling
Gavin needs extra help with reading and the school cut all funding for programs. He was shoved in the back of the class with five other boys to make paper cups all day. Then there was a high school boy being held after school every day for detention and was allowed to ride the elementary bus home. He was beating up my son and three other little boys and they refused to act. So, having gone to school to teach, decided to do it at home.
Summarized version :) Took the first year for him to just gain his confidence back from his lousy 2nd grade teacher.
It sounds like you did the right thing.Will you continue to do it through high school? I admire those who teach at home. That is a lot of responsibility to take on. Not sure if I could do it.Too bad some public schools are no good
I'm not sure. If he's still content here, I will. If he'd like to go back I'm willing to let him, just not back to the same school. Maybe a charter or private.
My distract has been getting rid of reading teachers too
I thought that Title 1 was a federally mandated program.
It's sad. The school lost 100 students that year, grades K-2, to transfers or homeschooling. His class size was 160 children.
