Absolutely! I used to suffer with back problems and it nearly drove me round the bend having to get some help.
Husband has been brilliant, but I feel the house is in need of my attention, and I hate all the dependancy ( I can always do everything myself, quicker, better etc.).
I know, you'll have your way of doing things and your own standards. I know it's all supposed to teach you patience, but I just found having to depend on others horribly frustrating.

oh, stiddy, so bad, my poor dear. is it arthritis?
no grannyrose, my hip pulls out of the socket. The bone structure (at least when MRI done three years ago) is perfect. But I feel it move, then have limited range of motion and extreme pain when I step on it. So... the orthopedic docs don't really believe me. But I am thinking I might ask for a cortisone shot again. That's about the only thing other than being very very lucky and careful about my activities.
I can't take the meds that are really effective for pain.
* snort * just remembered something my endocrinologist told me. according to 'research ' cold weather doesn't affect our arthritis. yeah, right
rofl... "cold" however does, and pressure changes can... and probably he was a young person who plays tennis every day!
hmmm, stiddy have you ever had your feet cheked out. Don was always in excrutiating pain with his lower back. since we got him orthotics for in his shoes, back pain minimal. called it be a posture thing?

I have very good posture actually when the hip is in the socket. When it isn't my low back is way out of whack. But I haven't had my feet checked in a couple decades (pregnancy made my high arches fall)

There is no pain in my back, and sciatica (which I have on the other side) is a completely other location and type of pain.
but if your feet aren't in good alignment, your back twists, and all the muscles around your hipp would be pulled the wrong way.
Oh, there are specific motions that pop the hip out. Of course, to get this checked out, the docs would have to care why I am in pain. And they don't.
But I think I can ask for a cortisone shot because it's been several years.

The issue is that treatments are likely to take time, and I really can't afford to be unavailable for work. You know how that is. Tom's income can't support my student loans as well as our other expenses.

I was born with hip dysplasia, but like I said the brannach device (sp?) worked for me and so the bone structures are perfect. The hip used to move in and out freely, but since I had kids it gets stuck in the out position. I used to have very bad knees, particularly on the same side as the hip, but that was solved when I was pregnant. Not sure how...
aha.....thought so.....and the treatment involves what nowadays?
A few years ago, visiting B.C. without Tom (who can reset my hip) it went out and was out for several days until I got home. It's been really bad since then.
Tom moves it until it unlocks, and then pulls on it to set it properly. It's not hard, it's just not something I can do myself.
So when it's out I think it is both rubbing on some nerves that run down the leg and also pinching some of the soft tissues that run around the lip of the socket.
well the hormones released when pregnant, and particlarly when we go into labour, relax cartilage, ie tendons and sinews. maybe the tendons in your knees relaxed at that point, and their alignment became correct.

stid, I had a hip that went out all the time and after going through all kinds of doctors and tests a chiropractor sent me to rehab pilates. not a class but an individual who specialized in rehab pilates. she was a life saver for me. diagnosed an imbalance in the muscles that had started long ago and gotten worse. After a while with her I am totally fine now. it was so worth it! rehab pilates people are had to find, and I don't know where you are, but here on the west coast of the US there are at least some people with that skill.

It was good we hot-footed it home, Lucky had gotten a skin infection that needed attention.

he is now, much more comfortable with meds on board and a shave so the air can reach the skin
