a total knee replacement is one of the most painful forms of ortho surgery. i had a GA, spinal and a femoral nerve block for mine. and i still emptied my PCA.
he said that physios don't want patients to have pain but forcing the knee in the first days will make things much better in the long run
my wife didn't ahev a ga because of heart valve problems
he's right, vanilla. i set up my physio routine whist i was still in hospital. when i came home i just kept it happening.
we could have some fun and games for a while then when she comes home

and keep the swelling down. a major factor in pain post-op. i am now nearly 9 weeks post, and still using the cold pack.

if you use a list to help you find words, words are listed by length and point total, and knowing how many points helps you look for the word.

JeeWhiz, refresh and I should be there
lists are helpful because it turns out there are many words in the dictionary which not many people have heard of. some of these, short ones, come up a lot, and we call those "babblets". you get used to them.
we also ask each other for clues. when you aren't yet using a list, you might ask for the stats for something in particular, like, say, what's that lone E in the third row? when you have the list, if you're still stuck, you might say, clue for the fo6/27?
we try not to use the day's grid words in chat, unless they are really common, like "that" or something.

Ummm...question for you experienced Babblers. even though I had finished about ten grids, my 'standing score' neve went up--when I didn't play a game [yesterday] my standings went down a point. What is going on, and why not upward movement, but there is a downward movement?

i use to cheat and get the lipton/knorr rice packs,but dainty had 20 kg sacks of rice on sale and will be doing it from scratch for a long time to come:))
your menus are always so creative - i envy your family at those meals
creative yes,but i try to budget as well.the shrimp was 50% off and the 20 kg bag of rice was a one time deal of 7 dollars!
we will be eating that rice for 2 years lol
thats also how we shop - but never get so creative in putting it all together
i enjoy cooking as the mrs cannot see well enough and i think,tbh,i do it all just to hear her exclaim how nice it is,how good it tastes or how pretty it looks.if it was just me alone,i would eat any old thing
we trade off - tonight i was last home so DH did the cooking - have two grown sons and taught them. encouraged them to also enjoy cooking
yes,all fellas should learn to cook well as it has side benefits..when i was first dating my mrs,we were snuggling on the couch and i suavly asked "how do you like your eggs in the morning? : and she said " unfertilized" so i knew i had to make my breakfasts as good as i could to get her to stay over lol
my youngest son does most of the cooking in their house - DIL often works late and also doesn't really cook
my poor mrs,her vision is stuck at 20/400 and i do not mind cooking.when it looked like she was going to lose the last of her sight a few years ago,i took the entire fall off and we spent all our time driving in the mountains,seeing everything there is to see,so it could be firmly fixed in her minds eye if i had to be her eyes after that,but were we fortunate and her eyes hold at this level and i cook for her anythime

but what a wonderful time that fall must have been for you two

it was amazing,i showed her deer,wild turkeys,rivers dancing over the rock beds and falling in a fine mist to the lower pools,i showed her rock caves and spots deep down where there was still ice from last winter,i showed her all the trees and the vibrant colours of the fall display,i took her canoeing and she was able to see the mist burning off the still waters at dawn with the sound of loons calling in the distance,i took her kayaking over 18th century wrecks just below the surface of greorgian bay..was a good year...
