Good evening, lynxxx, good morning, BabbleRabble.
hi Haz
It seems to be the quiet time again.
perfect time
Hello, Haz and Lyn
Yes, peaceful and leisurely.
The grid is too small again.
Hi all = I agree with BR - it's nice to have a big grid on a
Saturday.
Hello, Dianne
You really don't like small grids, do you, BR? I kind of accept what comes although I do prefer the bigger ones as well.
You have heard about the murdered girl Jill Meagher Haz. Such overwhelming sadness and concern here for her - even before they found her. Her death has rocked our whole community to the core
hi Dianne
Yes, lynxxx, the tragedy has been covered here. A horrible thing to have happened.
It's in today's newspaper here. Some days I hate to even read the paper. We are still reeling here over the ferry accident that claimed 39 people's lives.
yes, the ferry collision made the news very quickly here. 39 is too many but seems like it could have been a lot worse
"Maybe this loss creates a movement that demands respect for women and says violence against women, violence against anyone, is unacceptable," she said. ... I hope so but am not optimistic
sadly that is probably true BR
This is a maritime city - this just should not have happened at all on a fairly clear night without much water traffic around the crash site. Both captainns were arrested and are out on bail pending the investigation.
I said this before but I find it so incredulous: Women in the US military deployed overseas have a greater chance of being assaulted by a fellow military than getting killed. What is worse is being deployed again with the assailant.
You mean they're deployed together even after the assault has been investigated etc?
Yes
So, there's an acceptable level of violence against women in the army.
There's not a lot of point in a female reporting anything, is there?
We have had a rash (yes I know!) of instances like that recently too (although not whilst deployed) - although a lot of instances of men/boys being assaulted too. Being talked about in the highest places but then seems to go quiet again - until the next episode
I cannot understand how our representatives can let this go on ..... but then our representatives prize power over the interests of constituents
maybe Bastardization still has a place in the armed forces?
In the US the military simply are commodities ... use them, abuse them and lose them ... just budget items
Can the political reps truly have any influence on the Military - at those levels?
Or is it a case of the military having their own rules/courts etc?
They can start taking stars from generals
And leave nasty wee holes in their uniforms?
A talking point is that the military is all volunteers ... since when is the well-being of a volunteer less than that of a draftee?
Its hard I guess...the military needs to be a 'tight' self contained community but being so insular it leaves makes it easier for abusive types to get away with 'murder' so to speak
You're volunteering to serve your country, with the expectation that while your country can't fully protect you from violence from your enemies, it can at least protect you from violence from fellow soldiers.
Yes - agree Haz.
The investigations are a farce .... liars protecting criminals
Internal investigations BR? I think that is what is happening here too
gm
military investigating military
Good morning, kje.
yes
good evening kje

You need to pace yourself with babble.
I'm going to take a break and come back later. Bye for now.

Hello all
hi buggie
aned
hey Shallow
how far along are you?
only done 29 so far
7 left, but with lickety stuck on yesterdays grid, im having a hard time ofr the last few
yeah, lickety doesn't seem to like weekends
not here long enough to notice
look at volleymumdee's profile, she has a list (just ask google)
but without lickety and no stats, id be totally lost, so i guess i do need to register eventually ;)
sorry, that's volleymomdee with an O
I only registered the other day... been playing from time to time for years
hello again, 64 this morning
i scraounged up what i could get from the archives, but can i access her profile as a nonmember?
of course
thanks, buggie, that should be a great help :)
yw
list is in my profile
ugh, i was coming here hoping to STOP thinking about politics and the first thing i see is ROMNEY in the grid!
and his first name also ...
hurshy: do you think it's a subliminal message planted there by his people?
lol, so it is
OMG
it's not subliminal if you notice it
id' get conspicious, when its on three grids in a row ;)
I wqouldn't have seen it....
americans ignore our politics, so I tend to ignore theirs, makes life easier :)
i think we americans would prefer to ignore our own...
it is so weird being an American here
from what I've seen of the debates, I get the impression most of you already do anyway, at least one half of it... ;o)
<-- hasn't seen the debate. Husband won't watch
it's political theater anyway, i'm sure you aren't missing anything.
oh I mean in general, haven't seen the latest one, not interested
we don't talk about politics -- our votes would cancel each other's out
also, not having a TV helps, I find the TV has more disinformation than information...
ruby, is your husband french?
no, he's from St. Louis but we don't agree on politics
ahhh, french couples with opposing political views are extremely rare
the french aren't that political, however there's a clear divide between left and right
but I think they realize that they made a mistake in voting in Hollande and will probably bring Sarkozy back in the next election
actually, no, sarkozy doesn't stand a chance in hell
we are nothing like a French couple!!!!
the french hate him
you think? they are certainly dissatisfied with Hollande
hollande is still on probation, as most of what is going on is the result of sarkozy's decisions
no, his polls have dropped a little, but nothing unusual 6 months after the election
*sits back to enjoy a non-american political discussion*
I don't follow it closely
hahah, hurshy
onto
whoops, sorry
fireworks
there's no major dissatisfaction, only the right wing opposition trying to kick up a fuss because they're not in power, but they don't represent the general opinion :)
yay, shallow!

hi and bye sue. How is Franck doing?
(SPELLED THE fR WAY, SORRY)
still miserable, still in hospital, I came home for a bit to shower and bring some things back to him
{{frank}}
I'll be putting updates in my profile
will he eat their food or do you have to bring it from home?
the hospital is quite wired - wifi everywhere and web access in the paitient rooms through the TV
they have good food but he's not allowed to eat for a while
The other pa is weird too. What you work for + jeans are made of de*** (kind of material)
poor thing
Plural
thanks for those, molly!
ty molly
thanks molly
Some archaic word for pagan.
what a strange word, molly
*poof*
Sue, my daughter-in-law has Crohns, I know that whole hospital drill. Sorry you're going through this.
thanks, molly, we are still waiting for a definitive diagnosis, sounds like it will be a few days more
the hospital is actually kind of nice, all the rooms are single rooms and have chairs that make into a single bed if family want to stay (which I do)
That's good. At least they make you as comfortable as possible. My son always stays over when his wife is in too.
everybody really has been very nice. And I guess the gastroenterologist will see us after all (it's the same one that wouldn't take him as a self-pay patient when I called a couple of weeks ago)
There is some irony in that.
hospitals can be quite pleasant if you allow them to be - a complete break from everyday worries (as you can't do anything about them from where you are), and the nurses and cleaning personnel can be quite happy to chat with a nice patient, most people they deal with don't give them any personal consideration
morning everyone
hello Katie
I don't think Frank would describe it as pleasant although if he gets the nose tube taken out he will be much happier
hi katie!
anyway I am going to go take a shower, will be back later ((((babble)))))
I hear you Sue. I can't stretch far enough to get "hospital" and "pleasant" in the same thought process.
hello everyone
((Mom)) Good morning :)
((Annie)) good morning
right now, it is sunny here, might get foggy later
fog .... yuck
we have sun also but chilly only 41 degrees
I would love to have some cooler weather here.
it is on its way Annie
we are expecting wide spread frost tomorrow night
I know and am looking forward to it. Not the slushy snow tho.
me either on the snow :-(
last winter we only had 5" total, which was fine with me. I hope it will be that way this year
I hope so too for you.
do you get much snow, Annie?
Yes, we do but I do not have to shovel, thank goodness.
*Votes for a repeat of last winter with Mom*
that is always a blessing
Lickety's list is not up today. *sigh* I really appreciate him.
((Molly)) hello. I rarely see you in the mornings any more
I have Dee's list in my profile.
thanks, Molly, will look later
I appreciate Lickety too Annie. Especially on big grid days. Yesterday's grid would have been tough without it.
I couldn't have finished yesterday
s grid without Lickety's list

She is well. She has been working a lot of hours.
I will let her know you were asking after her :)
Please do. Tell her she is missed. : )
ditto! :-)
Hi Une! I surely will!
Oh and Car, I saw a sneak preview of Chicago Fire. Your man Jesse is a great addition to that cast.
I know!!!! But his voice...I miss his accent!
If you need a list, there is one under VolleymomDee's profile. I copied it for myself and I'm new so I don't know how to get to the profile if the person's name isn't on the chat. I'm sure you old pros know how to find her.

I know Welki, that was serendipitous.
I wonder if Hamlet sends Ophelia on her sad way with "ar 6/24!"

What a nice hubby!
Thank you. NBT.
Hurshy noticed this earlier....Mitt and Romney are in the grid
I noticed that too Annie. Strange that both names would be there.
eeekkk!!
Although it would be even stranger if Barack and Obama were in a grid.
molly, used to watch Roy Rogers and Kit Carson every week!!! :-)
Now for equal time...Barack and Obama should be in the grid tomorrow
:-D
100 down and gotta go -- great to see everyone! byeee *poof*
Enable is not subject to the equal time laws. : D
bye Une xxx
LOL
And to make it even stranger, Mrs. Romney is in the grid too.
have to leave for a while, be back later
good morning all
hey, teach
And Mr. Gingrich. It's a Republican grid today. : P
kind of scary, such a coincidence. Hello Babble friends :)

there it is. Thanks again, Ks killed. And yes, absolutely, car.ee. Stupid enable.
Morning all (or whatever time of day it is where you are) Something was disturbing me about this grid. Just figured out it was the (almost) name of a presidential candidate.
Definitely too early for politics.
clue on the kh5?
and hi all
hi jwr... both Mi4 and Romney are in.
oh gosh. Now I can't see anything else. Help!
*giggles* I know. Same for me.

Good morning folks....why did I find the name Mitt Romney in the puzzle ...Babble getting subliminal on us? :/

And I am back!
Volleymomdee and Molly have lists in their profiles.
my sweet love blundered big time today, lol. We stopped at a tank station because we were running on empty. And he managed to fill the tank up with gasoline in stead of diesel.
uusue!!!!!
wb car.ee :)
hi kje :)
Oh no!
hello all
H car!
And hi kje! How is San Francisco?
he did. Luckily I was the one going in to pay and I wondered about the very high price... found out it was gasoline and managed to prevent him starting the car.
Sprite, Mom, Don't know about you, but I feel much better now. The politico is overshadowed by the ti6/21.
always love finding the ti6 :D
Sprite, will your car survive this? I don't know as much about Diesel engines as i probably should.
kje hi. Are you in San Francisco this crowded weekend?
we were lucky. We did not start the car. Called the... what is it called where you live? The helpful guys that come when your car breaks down... you pay a membership fee. Took about an hour, but then he had emptied out our tank. So we could tank again... DIESEL this time... all in all 100 euro down the drain though.
yes, the car will survive! Thank God.
Ah so you were able to drain it out or something? Also, interestingly, diesel is much more expensive than gasoline here, go figure.
oh lol! It is the other way around here. LPG (gas) is cheapest, then diesel, then gasoline.
Oh, good. Glad all is well.
TripleA (AAA) come and help rescue cars
Can't get LPG at stations here...
pfew so am I. Expensive little trip though, grin.
I'm looking jwr, lol...I was thinking, there has to be more to this
ah, ok, TripleA. It is called ANWB here. Am ever so glad when they show up to rescue me.
Gas/petrol just hit $5 a gallon on the US West Coast.
I have aaa too, they can be very helpful,
it is insanity.
Mom - whatcha looking for?
ti6 probably?

Teach: the biggest weekend ever. 2 major league playoff Giant's games, Fleet Week (the Navy's in plus the stunt jet flyers The Blue Angels), a two-day bluegrass music festival in Golden Gate Park, America's Cup sailing, North Beach's Italian Street festival (Monday is "Columbus Day"), the Castro Street Fair (attracts 200,000 on its own every year), people still coming for the 75th anniversary of the golden Gate Bridge and on and on and the leftovers from the Oracle Convention....

that is the plural fish. I use it often myself.
fish=slang missing the obvious ones?
i often go blinmd on the plurals too
not to mention my fat fingers on the keyboard
any ph?
nm
yes :) It comes from 'hit me with a fish for being so stupid'. Also, fish is special to us old time Babblers. We used to find a fish in every grid and ask eachother: did you find the fish yet?
Yes, it relates to being slapped with a fish for missing obvious words. Originally there were particular fish for missing plurals, others for not seeing past tenses etc.
more than 1 ph?
I have one...ph 4/10
lol
one only
oh yes, same here. I forget plurals, or worse, singulars, or verb forms, or other extensions.
bbiab
ph-.. only one ph ....
*winks at Haz for having shared that silly time*
Bye kje!
Hi does anyone have a list today please?
hi Sandie, and bye kje
I know, the things we've seen!
too true, Haz!
Hi sandieangel! Volleymomdee and Molly both have it in their profiles.
Thanks a lot for the info.
I think there are more phantoms than actual words in the grid today.
I think you are right
I keep trying to use the small electrically charged particle ending, but so far no juice.
OK...stuff to do...must go. :(
No point looking any more, sprite.
I wish you all a wonderful day! {{hugs}} all around!
:( Bye car.ee, have a good one
good morning everyone:)
Ahhh! Crossy!
and it is now time for crossy,s tidbit of the day!!
Hello and goodbye darling!
never at the end in this grid, sprite
In 1998 Miss Piggy released her own perfume, "Moi." Kermit had previously debuted a cologne called "Amphibia."
crossy! *hugs* Let's have it.
hi crossy :)
hehehe I like that
LOL! Thank you for that one!!!!
*poof*
howdy shallow one ((sprite))) ((car))
thanks Shallow. Disappointing for such a lovely ending, but very good to know :)
the pa7s were new to me - have you got them already?
no, I usually find the big ones at the end. I am proud to say I found the 8 very early though.
was my first :) thought it was gonna be a good grid then ....
oh wow! I wasn't that quick, lol. Good one!
ah, a pagan or heathen. Interesting spelling.
43 left, so far enjoying this grid very much
as i said another nice mosaic-tile to broaden my vocabulary (if it would stick so easily -lol)
and why does it not take snew?? as in whats snew with you? lol
the other pa is a medical/biological term
wtg crossy
I try to learn one new word every grid. No way I can remember every word in each grid. But little by little my vocabulary grows.
past tense of to snow. Of course. Tsk.
king of the kalauer (youre allowed to look that one up)
thanks sweetie, LOL! *off to look it up, of course*
looks German to me
that was actually for crossy, who as i do remember has already some glimpses of his german vocab
my german vocabulary is basically just enough to get my face slapped in a bar
ah ok. *casts eyes down and reminds self not everything is meant for her*
crossy, jeezzzz. I can do that without any words.
i can ask for beer and vodka and offend aldies in about 8 languages hehe
ladies
calling ladies oldies works just fine
kalauer= corny pun..old joke
ah cool! Never knew. We call those 'jokes with a beard'
i like that as well:)
:)
i'd say BAD pun, not any old joke
joke with a beard is a standing expression in german too
have to share: I was gifted a gold bracelet. From a very dear friend to my mother's, who has been very important to me in my youth. She died and left me this and some other jewelry in her codicil. Am so happy with it. Am wearing it now and thinking of her.
very nice
how nice
ah ok, Shallow, then it is not exactly the same as our jokes with a beard.
it truly warms my heart. Am so honored she thought of me.
then that would be a type of joke that we call a "graoner" one that is so bad it is almost funny
hahaha yes.
i bet you expert in those, too, right crossy?
no, our real expert for that is BabbleRabble. And ruru is very good at groaners as well.
no,we have a babbler by the name of ruru who excells in those
br as well, but his are more "dry" humor
that is true. both have a very personal sense of humour and both make me laugh every time.
my humor tends towards the "earthy/offensive" genre
*giggles* Yeah. Very down to earth. Far beneath me, of course ;)
i am the one your dad warned you never to date sprite:))
hahaha he never did, he couldn't care less. But I know that if I had, we'd have had a lot of fun, crossy!
hi all.. last night I thanked someone for pointing out the grid contained a strange pa7 word by saying, how salivary.. ruru responded, "aren't you gland you found it".. yup, ruru has some great groaners
hi Aloy! Lol, great one. I always admire how quick he is with those.
now there is a groaner!
i like those. dont succeed at them in english often.
hi aloy
you have to play sometime when ruru is on a roll. It is hell for your grid, cause you cannot search for words for following the chat :D
hi sprite, crossy.. nice to meet you, Shallow..
Aloy, Terra says hi (looks more like a waggle). He is doing great.
yay, so glad to hear that sprite.. is he getting a winter coat?
yes, it has started. Getting him dry after a walk in the rain is getting harder.
what? no Lickety? am down to 31 and stalled
well he could be a watered spaniel now
same here, 38 left and pulling teeth from a chicken
hi ruru!
ruru! Your ears were glowing, right?
gm aloy and sprite
hi ruru
hi shallow
all the european gang is almost here
your icon cheers me up ruru (-:
lovely, isn't it :)
he's kinda cute
indeed.. (-:
definitely. I like him.
I think dee has a list she finished in no time last night
hot dog.. I have to go to it.. am Skyping soon with my gdaughter and need to finish
smart. I am not that fast today. Blind as a bat, to be honest.
just read your peach/basil chicken recipe - maybe ill try it sometime. did the peach-basil combination to a red scorpionfish some years back and that came out very nicely
oh how nice, Aloy!
peach and basil is a great combo
ty, ruru.. found it.. now I'll find out if I missed some fishies
howdy aly and ru,wandered away to get a tea
dee is simply amazing.. what a brain that woman must have
hiya crossy
yup, she can log in late and finish in a jiffy
I hope you brought me one too, crossy
I only like certain kinds of te
tea
yes indeed sprite, nice ceylon orange pekoe and strong enough to fight you for the teaspoon:)
as virtual teas go, I drink pretty much everything
LOL! Thanks crossy, lovely!
lol.. i'm going to use that one crossy
so you are not a tea-totaler, ruru
ill go for earl grey please, but strong too
no.. not really
and wee dram of mmalt to accompany it, as the weather is so stormy today
earl grey I like ...and english breakfast tea (which is probably mostly earl grey) sometimes I blend it with Black currant tea
i find earl grey has a funny aftertaste
it is rather calm here today. Yesterday was bad though.
fave tea - Marco Polo from Mariage Freres - best tea ever
yep it tickles my tongue
howdy kje
never heard of that one, kje. Sounds interesting :)
oooh. got to try that.. where to you get it doc?
Mariage Freres
lol
:)
is that like an on-line site? or a texas thing
ahh a company in paris
no, seriously, I buy the muslin tea bags when in Paris... otherwise, you can buy the loose tea at William Sonoma in the states
http://www.mariagefreres.com/
oh.. we have a williams Sonoma near us
Ru - next time you are in Paris, visit the original store in the Marais... best smelling place you will ever visit. It is a tiny wooden shop and the wood has absorbed all the tea and spice smells over the last couple hundred years... just a sensory overload
taking notes..
you can have a really nice lunch there also
just checked - theres 4 different kinds
ok
thanks i'm always for new experiences
!!!!!!! marco polo tea 8.5 euro for 100 grams!!!!
lurking--best tea store! Glad I went when i was there, KJE. Hi, ru and all!
Ru--what's up with that picture? I've been gone too long.
hi Pam.. YEAH.. she unlurked for a second
hey pam!!!!!!!!! Omg way too long ago. *hugs*
I just wanted to look toothsome for once Pam
isn't it an unpleasant pic, Pam!!! maybe you can convince him to change it
hi pam
HUGS, Sprite. Ru--seriously.... Hi, shallow.
it definitely has a bite to it
it is a treat, cross, but I love it
I don't drink it often, and it's a splurge for this downwardly mobile cookbook seller, but I like it.
Pam - didn't you just love the aroma in that place? I could just sit there all day inhaling...
man.. now I gotta try it
so about 15 CAD per 100 grams..ouch
plus shipping
Yes! I was so glad you suggested it, KJE
how much per cup? hi pam
there's a pipe tobacco shop like that in San Anselmo kje.. I could just stand there for hours inhaling
nice
Cross, it's dear, it's true. I am lucky that I drink wildly good coffee that is roasted at work, and otherwise drink mint tea, so I treat myself to good black tea. I really don't do it often. hi, aloy!
looks like loose tea,so i would use about 1 tsp per cup would be my guess
I love pipe tobacco... but don't like smoke
my uncle smoked a pipe... I did like the smell, but depends on the tobacco
love the smell of pipe tabacco.
Mint tea is soooo 80's
I love the smell of pipe tobacco, too...
ruru, then just buy a pouch of your favorite and put it loose in a potpourri jar
Yeah, that's me oh growling dog, 80s
why does it smell so much better from a pipe than a cigar or cigarette, which I hate
*sends patchouli oil vail to Pam*
Must be the cupping, KJE. :)
omg - I HATE patchouli........ ACHOOOOO!
I always wondered that to Doc
Don't go to a Phish concert Kje
<---- also wonders where her last 14 words are hiding
same place my last 22 are
<---- ahead of ru
what on earth are blue teas?
I am wondering where the penalty box went. Must be so last year. Will stop reading the chog archive....
patchouli? Yuck.
Not a patchouli fan. Musk, however....
we now have a sensitive room pam
musk. Lovely.
howling cuz I missed the hy5/6 combo
A sensitive room? What the 'ell?
ok.diving into grid and not looking at chog.i am not getting any words done
we put players who get bent out of shape in there
he's being an ass, pam.... ignore it
Oh
we still have a penalty box, come on now. Admission fee is a valid word that I don't yet have.
Thanks, aloy, for the clue! :)
cr-assy?
Nothing wrong with ass kje
yw (-:
pax, Aloy

pax. BabbleRabble.. nice to see you
hey BabbleRabble :) Good to see you. We told Shallow One you are good at puns and one-liners.
oooooo... down to 12
arrrrgggh
I'm soo stuck
*kicks kje carefully* Still at 32 left, darn.
those two were the do5/16 and plural... have them sprite?
Pretty easy grid again

well, I don't feel bad missing the kh5.22, newbie for me
yep, that was a new one for me too. haven't looked it up yet.
pa 7/36 is new for me
not that many elephants in texas i guess
medical term
that pa7 is an anatomy term.... so not new to me
lol ok... from India: an enclosure constructed to ensnare wild elephants
don't have the kh and the DOs eluded me--thanks!
now why didn't I know that? lol
No PA, either.... but there's time, LOL
was new for me as well, BabbleRabble.
pam - glands in cheek
the pa7
you will find them, pam :)
lol Aloy... exactly. Will use that one in conversation tonight. Somehow ;)
got the kh. makes me sad--wonder why they're ensnared.
pa 6/30 and pa 7/44 are new for me as well
maybe to tame them :(
they want to take them to a Trunk sale pam of course

no, but may be some flakes tomorrow.. saw you have snow, Babble
so true; so true
:)
keep it there, please
but it won't bring any new it was gone before we knew
I do not mind the snow ... it is the wind that bites
still a month till I fly south
so true; so true
now all we need is a melody and we have a hit
counting the days, Aloy?
am humming "going where the chilly winds don't blow", but first I have a major leaf cleanup to do..
hmmm... may need to list soon... down to 8 but don't want to be here all day
the gutters are filling
easy to dress for snow, hard to dress for wind
but I'm not climbing up on ladders.. amazing, kje.. you have done well!
wow kje, good job
easier to dress for cold and wind than heat
seriously, 110 suvks
sucks
Has there been a clue for the first pa7?
ain't that the truth. One can only undress so far.
pop. distribution would be so different without AC.. and that applies to Fla too.. daughter lives in Phoenix, 110 is cool some days

Good afternoon Babbles
hi bichon :)
hint for the other pa 7 than the face glands which swell with the mumps
plural of the pa6
Hi again all!
hmmm, then pa 6, pls
a new word combo for me, bichon. It means pagan, heathen.
What you earn + de*** is a fabric that makes jeans
give money + jeans are made of de***
snap, Molly :)
Ok, I am sort os semi brain dead here, can anyone help with the lower right a?
I like that an alternate definition of the pa 7, besides the heathen is a Muslim. Bad
Describes someone who likes to draw and paint, Sue.
one who likes music, etc is r**

See? I toll

uusue: obsolete words, forms of to be
ty Molly
Argh, never mind my typing, and thanks for the clues!
Happy Saturday
yeah, bad. Muslims are definitely no heathens.
hi Pickles, to you too
Technically, a heathen is anyone who does not acknowledge the God of Judaism. So Muslims, Catholics, Protestants...all fall under that definition.
I don't know what the Crusaders thought the Muslims were, but we know better now
ed
sorry
wow.. at least I know what crowd I'm in
yeah. Well, each religion that is based on love has my full support.
that's funny, in a way, Molly. So in that definition, Christians are heathens?
That's a weird definition Molly. Probably going way, way back
Heathen is a weird word, that goes way, way back.
I am going to have to look up the word origin
Could someone give me the stats for the 8?
I just did, and found different etymology
mo8/55
It's actually Old English and means not Christian or Jewish
it says here it started as a referral to people who lived on the 'wild heaths'. Developed to mean 'wild people from the heaths'. Then into people with a different belief from 'us'. Etc.
that's where all those Heathers came from then
that is another heather on your cap, ruru
Interpret the word as you will. One derivation comes from a gothic word that means gentile.
heathen help us
Mental note: Never, ever step in here with a definition again.
stats for the c, pls
or is there a list?
ROFL
<-- needs help for mo 8
Dee's list in my profile.
Tanks, sprite!
yvw sue :)
ty Molly
lol @ mental note
*turns on soothing music in sensitive room*
And I was wondering if heathen had anything to do ith Heath, that makes sense
*fluffs pillows*
*thanks
*lights aroma therapy candles*
did anyone have a hint for the mo8?
*hugs ruru*
It does...heathen (definition) follower of Heath Ledger
yes it does. What I read here, is it goes back on the proto-german word for field, acre. Almost all languages in our area have a similar word.
add a sometimes vowel to the mo 7
bichon: serving to warn, to admonish
Got it, thanks ruru!
Many thanks, sprite!
ruru: how about a massage?
yvw Erda :)
I give great massages
I love massages. Can I pretend to be upset about something and get one?
LOL sure
:D :D *grabs towel, lies down, closes eyes*
I don't get the hint sprite about the mo7
hall mo7
mo7...in school you get a pass from the hall mo7
tyvm ruru and Molly
Bichon, mo7 is the thing where the pictures from your computer appear
mine was for the 8. Drop last letter for the 7.
good morning, everyone :)
hi nan :)
Hi nan!
<--- loves this crowd.
:D
*Sells tickets to Ru's Massage Parlor, located in The Sensitive Room. *
hehehe and I got a freebee just by pretending :)
So can you get to the SensitiveRoom without going through the Penalty Box?
of course. Just be sensitive. Works like a charm.
:-)
Need a hint for the FIRST pa7...
The Sensitive Room is for those who whine about the Penalty Box, among other things.
First pa 7 sounds like artery in the neck.
Gland in your neck, erda
pa7: pirate's bird minus R, + freudian part of Self
and of course, ne4 gets you a ticket to the PB
Thanks again, sprite!!
my pleasure, Erda :)
Oh we'll :-)
Sue, I guess using ne4 got our clues disqualified.
*grin*
Tough room today.
<-- is used to having her clues disqualified
yep, real talent needed for an 'encore'
Strange -- they didn't use padauk or pagurian or pahoepahoe...
Wow, condescending too.

thanks thanks, chat was broken for me for a sec. sorry about the double post!
:) better double than not at all
chat was stalled on me as well
sometimes I have to close the game and restart to get the chat back in working order
sometimes people just repeat themselves.
:D
stuck with 44 to go -- does anyone have a list in theri profile?
Volleymomdee and Molly, nan
ty sprite
ah, I am called down for dinner. Will probably never know who was condescending ;) Bye all, *hugs* and have fun, and try to behave in my absence.
bye sprite
since I'm new here, would someone be so kind as to tell me why, if I've used the Y 4 times, the tile stats still say Y 0/3?
Molly has Dee's list nan
Kaman..it's because you haven't found the three words associated with the y
they are all ye words ye 4, ye 4, and ye 5
meaning they start with y?
yes
one is an expression of disgust
and someone has figured out there are no yo words? I'm not really understanding how you guys figure the second letter so consistently!
there are no yo words
ar 6/24, please?
we're just really brilliant people..lol
You figure out the second letter either by getting all the words or looking at the list.
lol
just kidding
great help, thanks! Now I can use the tiles stats to help me figure things out...have been watching your clues and have figured out quite a bit just from watching
ar6/24...same as the 6/18 with sometimes vowel
click on Molly's profile for a list from a brilliant player who created it by finding them on her own
tiny
oops, now have to remember to get cursor in correct box....
there's one.. but you put it in the wrong box
stats for the N THIRD column please?

I must have to drop a letter, molly?
ty ruru
No, the sometimes vowel subs for the i
nm - found it

*forgot which i I was working from!
ty molly and ruru
E stats please?
Mr. Rogers, the cowboy, seems to only be remembered by the ancient ones. : P
oopsie
guess that makes Nan and me ancient
hwo are you calling ancient Molly lol?
ML, Dee's list is in my profile
ty
en 6/21, ey 4/6
ty cyber got the 4
some days, ruru, it feels that way!
<---watched the original Leave it to Beaver shows
thAT's OLD
Don't think I'll say what shows were on when we got TV -- and I was 13 by then!
<---Loved Leave It To Beaver
We used to go watch tv at my grandmothers it had three channels
lol - we had one channel and the test pattern
Since Mitt and Romney are in the grid today, did anyone hear about the high school student who was ridiculed by her teacher for wearing a Romney/Ryan shirt. The teacher compared the student to someone in the KKK. Good Lord.
Y is a Ya right?
well when you fall asleep with the TV on Nan and wake up to the test pattern.. does that take you back to those times? lol
ye
5th column R stats please?
we just got CBC broadcasts and they didn't start until the noon news
that's ridiculous molly
haven't seen a test pattern for years -- still the indian head? or are the broadcasters more politically correct now?
Mitt couldn't get his sheets that starchy
<--has never liked mitt romney
me neither. I don't think I'm voting for Prez this round
ruru i was saying when i found out mitt was the other candidate..could we have a third choice lol
But between the two sorry to say but i still think obama is the better choice
nbt
I'd even consider that whacko Nader over what has been served up..lol
ruru when obama ran the first time iw as hoping for guliani. the previous mayor of ny
no vote is worse -- if you can't vote for, vote against
No vote is NOT worse. No vote says you refuse to keep settling for the lame candidates served up.
* I have become an expert at voting for the lesser of 2 evils over the last decade or so
I agree with that. It says none of the above
and you let others make the choice for you?
I will not vote to re-elect a President who has done nothing for four years. That is not an option.
i am not voting but i would have voted for obama the first time and he still got in without my vote
I am only responsible for my vote and what it says. I will not vote for someone I don't think is qualified for office.
uh Nan.. this is the country that elected George Bush TWICE.. what does that tell you?
but molly - you can't say that he hasn't tried -- for the last 2 years he has been blocked at every turn
Molly it is an option you are choosing not to vote for him
ruru George w?
Bush
yes W
agreed Nan
Nan, sorry. That is a lame excuse for not enforcing his powers of The Presidency.
I guess I am too fond of having my say!
how many words today?
did you want a dictatorship then?
Molly snf you shouldnt but do you really think Romney is instead?
No, that is not how our government works. I'm bowing out of this now.
no.. but I'd take Clinton back in a nanosecond
149 words
ruru are you serious?????????
thanks
No ML, I don't. That is why, as I said previously, I'm not voting.
yes.. very
yes, well hindsight is stil 20/20
Talk about not doing anything for the coutry geez
yw ouwachita
mollly i am not voting either
my slogan for the election is A1BO...any 1 but obama
uh.. ML.. Clinton was paying down the Debt and deficit.. our last couple of presidents have added trillions to the debt
A1Bm
I don't know all that much about how your government works (or doesn't as the case may be) but I do know that Mitt scares me
MItt scares the crap out of me too nan
<---Not a Clinton fan
Mitt is creepy and weird lol
mlf is part of the 47%
obama has racked up more debt in 3 years than the entire county did in 233 years
LOL ruru
Not if i dont vot
vote
are you looking at numbers or percentages? -- there is a big difference!
I don't think you can put all that on him ouw... a lot of it was roll-over from Bush
ruru i was about to say the economy was in trouble BEFORE Obama came in
*Sigh* "I read it on the internet" has become the new "I seen it on the TeeVee".
If its percentages then Obama is ahead so i last saw on a chart of the US via facebook
He is the only one that blames Bush for everything...he has had 3.5 years to do something worthwhile and all he does is take vacations with his wife and 200 friends at a time
weren't some of his debt reducing initiatives blocked by the republicans in congress?
i think so yes nan
Which tabloid are you reading ouwa?
He has doubled the stock market.. that's a positive
Ouw they all take vacations
most of the ones that were blocked were TAX INCREASES...that doesnt work
and he didn't spend billions of dollars to kill daddy's worst enemy
Ouwa Mitt doesnt want the rich taxed because HE IS rich
Have you ever gotten a job from a poor man??? if so, vote for Obama
Ouw most rich companies are gone now were before they came into office
MLF...he earned every penny of it
at the expense of how many others over whom he rode roughshod, ouwa?
So he want sto support the rich and screw the rest of the country? what kind of president would he be?
For a President who campaigned on change (Yes we can!) Obama has a piss poor track record. And if you believe that The President is powerless over Congress and The House, then we might as well not have a President.
yes bills can be vetoed
The president does not have is much power in your political system as our prime minister does
Obama was right about Change...it is aqll we will have left in our pockets if he gets re-elected.
did you mean equal?
better than nothing but debt if Romney is elected, I would think
cyber do you think we would be in more debt is that what you are saying?
Oh yeah, that's why I quit playing this game. Too much pontificating about politics (and religion). Bummer. I really used to enjoy chatting when this game first started. Guess it's back to hiding the chat.
yes
if romney is elected i agree with you cyber
scary for us too -- if the US economy goes the way of most of Europe, we will be dragged right along
Mind you, I find it funny that people blame Obama for not managing to change things, when every single thing he's tried to do has been opposed by the republicans just to spite him. They blocked the budget until it was almost too late
Democrats have historically taxed everyone in order to give money and benefits to people who don't want to work because they get more than the working class in the final tally
Agreed Buggie
Nobody over here can understand why universal healthcare receives universal hatred over there... Nor why socialist is an insult... And we certainly don't live in a communist country...
I don't understand it either, buggie
do you want to die because a death panel decides that you are too old to receive an operation? bottom line of Obamacare.
Buggie sorry for not recognizing the flag but where do you live?
however, health care in the US is extremely expensive. Big fancy privately owned hospitals and enormous medical fees -- no caps on doctors salaries, etc.
I guess Ouwachita has never been unable to get a job...
France :)
where in France Buggie?
no i havent buggie...I was out of work for 1 day in my life...got a new job the next day.
cyber US health care is ridiculously hgh in most places in the US and trying ot get health insurance is almost impossible for a lot of people here
I was jsut curious Buggie:)
Hi all
Ouwachita, even extremely bright and motivated people don't necessarily find a new job quickly, being unemployed is actually very hard to live with for most people. It's only right that society helps them in their time of need
I pay over $1,000 per month for my healthcare...out of my own pocket
I so agree Buggie but here in the US we have so many that are not getting help and a lot who are that dont really need it as much as others do
aren't you fortunate that you can afford $1000 per month? --- very few can
buggie...I have no problem with people in need...but the habitual out of work is a major burden on all of us.
My husband and I managed for over a year without any handouts and a $2600 house payment. We took whatever jobs we needed to and could find that we were overqualified for to pay the bills until he got a job in his chosen field.
a part of the healthcare bill offers affordable insurance to anyone, my brother found a good policy that covers all existing conditions, each state has a different name for it - if I think of it, I'll post...try google for something like assigned risk health coverage for your state
So it's official. It doesn't matter who is President. Because it's the Republicans who block everything that are responsible for what is wrong with the US. Got it.
good for you chick
I'm certainly very lucky I live in France. When my type 1 diabetes was discovered nearly 3 years ago, all my bills were automatically paid for by my social security. I wouldn't have been able to afford hospital if I had to pay for it myself. Or the equipment and medication I need every day
Molly depends on wether a Republican or a Democrat is the winner in the end as to who does or doesnt do what
(my medical bills I mean)
Still, whatever the party, the opinion here is that the President is powerless. Wow.
Maybe we should all move to France lol
I suppose with some things yes they are
We should definitely all move somewhere else as we are told constantly here how much better their countries are than ours.
France does have an excellent system, buggie. The last time we were there I got caught in Honfleur with an intestinal infection. The hotel clerk called a doctor, who made a housecall, spent 40 minutes with us and gave us 2 prescriptions -- the total bill came to 25 euros ($40 Canadian) -- didn't even bother to claim it on our insurance when I got home!
Nwn
From what's seen frpm outside, your president only has the power lobbies and the opposition give him, which at the moment isn't much...
Cyber that is so awesome
Molly No those from foreign countries say its a better life for them here
the President's powers are only limited by the opposing party...which tries to keep him/her in check...if his party is in control, he has a free reign to do anything he/she wishes
I just hope our health system survives, it was badly hit by Sarkozy, and Hollande doesn't seem to be taking it in the right direction either
where in france do you live, buggie?
....she's ba-ack :)
Poitiers, it's kind of west side of the centre
and hello all :)
good wine country, I believe! :)
Molly, the US like all countries has it good sides and bad sides. I think for the bad sides are health care coverage and politics (but then you could cite politics for any country)
Yeah, there are some good wines from here, but I usually prefer the ones from further south
I am so thankful that we have medicare it isn't perfect, but the essential stuff get's taken care of immediately.
If we lived in the us, health care costs would have had us snowed under all of our lives.
Yup nan..i agree
fireflies :D
well done sprite
congrats
thanks nan and Buggie. Bye all, have a good one.
en 6/27, please?
don't have it sorry
Wtg sprite
It's a feeling of ill will. The en6/27. The opposite of am5/16.
We have covered a good deal of France in our travels, Buggie. I would love to be able to rent some place in a village south of Avignon for a year - my favourite part of the country
ty smith
everyone seems to love the south coast, never been further than Lyon myself
You're welcome.
Orange wouldn't be bad either! Lyon is a little too big and too far north, although I loved Alsace
The hill towns in the southeast are lovely too -- spent a week in Gordes one year
I just wish our train system wasn't centred on Paris and didn't cost as much, so it would be much easier to travel
I thought the rail pass was quite reasonable?
Mind you, we rented a car and drove everywhere
prices have gone up quite a bit
ah -- we haven't been to France for 6 years, now
a return trip to paris (only an hour and a half TGV trip) used to cost about 60€ full price I think (I had a studen reduction then), now I'm lucky if I can get it under 100€
wow - that is a lot!
I love the Bah Rhin area....Strasbourg is lovely
We went from Paris to Brussels for less than that!
I really must visit Strasbourg some day, I have a friend who lives there who I haven't seen in years
Its the right sized city..not so big you get lost
Strasbourg is lovely -- spent a week cruising the wine route and covered the valley, South to North, from our gite in a town just north of Colmar
it's about 3 times the size of my town
About 5 times larger than mine
*!* ta da *!*
congrats
clue for the last ro5/12 please ^^
anyone want clues before I leave?
ro 5: movement in a musical composition - begins with Mr. Reagan

good afternoon crossy
howdy teach:)
here is a crossy thought if the day,a little something to think about as we toss out that i-phone 4 for an i-phone five after less than a year so we can enjoy the cutting edge hardware.... http://tinyurl.com/8aougve
not that i will have to worry about an i-phone 5 at almost 1000 dollars lol
i have a phone that is just a phone - hard to find them any more
now this may mess up the chog, but it is stunning and will serve as crossys quote of the day
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.†-Marrianne Williamson
thnx crossy - beautiful thought - do you know who M Williamson is
crossy, thanks for sharing!
have no idea
judging by this,i would have to guess she is a person not afraid to get out there, get dirty and enjoy life to the fullest
Marianne Williamson is a spiritual activist, author, lecturer and founder of The Peace Alliance, a grass roots campaign supporting legislation currently before Congress to establish a United States Department of Peace
interesting
a dept of peace sounds like a good dept for every country to have
A notable quote of hers is, "In every community there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart there is the power to do it."
She is also the founder of Project Angel Food, a meals-on-wheels program that serves homebound people with AIDS in the Los Angeles area.[2] She has published ten books, including four New York Times #1 bestsellers.
interesting.i knew nothing of her till today
Teach, I met Marianne Williamson at a book signing and have a book signed by her. She sends a powerful message.
Nor did I. Lots of information on websites about her
Evidently, from the websites, she has appeared on lots of TV talk shows, has a weekly radio show, gives lots of lectures, and writes lots of books
Hi again all!
good afternoon sue
Hi wv!
She is also a Hay House author. Louise Hay founded Hay House, a self-help publishing firm and she has many inspirational authors under contract.
Interesting, will have to check her out!

babblets
Oh, thanks, lizlin, it's my babble science education project:-)
34 to go
:) - often wondered what people meant when they said babblet!
40 here. Does anyone have a list?
molly and dee do have a list
In general a babblet is a word you only see in babble grids
ty for explanation. I thought something like that but it's good to know for sure
thanks, found molly.
have a good evening guys
You will continue to be confused by the term "Babblet" (hate that word). People throw it around all the time and have different definitions for what it means.
brb store run.. 1/2 hr
Well, I started the physics babblet list because there was a word in the grid that was being described as stupid, when it was actually a gamier term to me. But I recognize that I have a rather specialized vocabulary.
Ok, I still can't type, should read familiar, not gamier. Way to ruin my point, iPad.
"babble" is a confused stream of words .... why would babblet be any different?
greetings fellow aliens on a goofy planet
At least you have a list up Sue. People clue "it's a Babblet" and most people don't remember all the words that are referred to as Babblets.
I appreciate your physics babblet list, Sue. Thanks
I appreciate it uusue. Those are terms that aren't front of mind for me!
evening all
Hi from beautiful uptown Mission BC
It was a teaching opportunity, and I guess after all these years I really am a teacher.
Hi from beautiful uptown Mission BC
There was a list of babblets in AngelSong's Babble page before it apparently was shut down.
Hi, jilli!
Hi Jilli
hi from boring farmington, michigan (!) ;)
Do i know anybody in St. Louis?
I didn't really say that twice
I'm about 4 hours from St. Louis, jes, how loose is your definition of "in"?
when the internet hiccups . . .
well, i'll be there for a week, but won't have any car, so ...
Not starting this one. About to go out for dinner with the family
Ah. If Frank weren't sick I might consider coming down, but can't do it now.
Have a nice dinner, jilli!
Babblet talk: http://tinyurl.com/93tl8kb
halfway and nbt, woot
Yay Gwen!
See, that discussion just goes to show that "Babblet" depends on who you are talking to. Tent? Eons? Not exactly words you only see in Babble. Nor are the British/American spellings of things.
well, i'm not there NOW... i'm planning ahead :) will be in town the week up until the 21st
tent? that's funny! (then again, for some reason i often miss the word nine)
Well, I'll keep it in mind, jes, although I suspect things will not be completely settled down by then
egad, i just noticed mi4 and romny are both in the grid, ha ha ha (yes, i know romny is spelled wrong, pick pick pick)
Check again Gwen. It's spelled right.
egad, there it is. It's an evil omen! LOL
There are many rituals and proffered rules ... just the way it is .... Dr_God has a rather unstructured site.
now i will be on the lookout for a grid with obama in it 8-D
Well run while you can because Ann and Mr. Gingrich are in the grid too.
pkdh is too
Gingrich seems to show up a lot, though, so that will not give me a freak out, LOL
Going to go nap for a while, I am pretty exhausted. Bbl.
Be well, Sue
night night, sue!
Gwen, do you have to have a license to be a book doctor?
earned my D.Boo. in the publishing biz, but never got a license . . .
sorry sue, missed your earlier comment because Bruce was distracting me :) sleep sweet, and if you have suggestions of things we should do in St Louis, feel free to offer them!
Gwen would be bound to it
hardy har! but alas the D.Boo. has nothing to do with manufacturing or repairing books
Bye all - see you anon
have fun jilli with the family
bye, jilli
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
Fireworks!! Good night, y'all.
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Hooray!

Hello wht! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
R's Ripped! 1 left
Wht, don't be frightened. Mitt and Romney are in the grid and it seems to be alarming people. Just wanted to warn you in advance. : D
I'm done!I have my FWs thanks to Dorothy's shiny friend
yes, it is very alarming, eeek! LOL
What do you know, she didn't hang onto it after all.
wtg minveryork !!!!!!! ~~~~~~~ !!!!!!!
I noticed that earlier this afternoon, but was lurking then.
at least republican ain't in there LOL
I am going to write a story. When I am done I will give it to MollyL so she can hold on 4/4 to it & read it in the PB.
All you folks who play here and are Republicans, try not to take offense at that, okay?
Min, I live in the PB. No worries. : D
The Penalty Box is a great place to be. Wish I really did live there sometimes MollyL!
For the hot tub alone Min. I'm not one of the fortunate who has one of my own.
ws whappalloppped
Wonderful Book Doctor Gwen!
Ss are snawwalloppped
Superduper Bookd Doctor Gwen!
ryan is almost in the grid too
ewwwwwww!
with newt there it's a republican grid
I feel like I'm back in 4th grade. : )
the grid must be neutral or there's gonna be a chatroom rumble LOL
Ds are descalloppped
Maybe Dr. God is a republican.Maybe he's Independent and we will have a democratic grid next Saturday.
We can all be big boys and girls and have our own opinions without bashing others for theirs. How's that?
Delightful Book Doctor Gwen!
LMAO i saw the mi4 but not the romney.. too funny
i see no bashing, just friendly commentary
would have been interesting to see this grid come out 30 days from now, so we could guess if it were subliminally influencing the vote :)
Hello nrkii! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
btw, I am Republican, and I don't feel bashed, but I will tend to leave the chat if folks start going on about their politics... I hate getting angry at people I like. :)
oh no, thomas de4 is also in the grid (the famous de4 defeats truman) (yes, spelled wrong again)
Hi Min. Doing well, thanks, how are you?
its actuallly spelled with an e before the y ;)
Argh, the E is there Cos, look again.
I am well.I just finished grid not long ago.Are you done?
its spelled dewey not de4
two E's :P
not yet... just started a bit ago... been spending my day decorating my porch for Halloween
not that it matters .. sorry!
Oh, I thought you meant Romney, sorry.
howdy all, back for a few more words..OMG!! mitt and romney are in the grid!!!
that make 4 republicans in the grid, counting those whose names are spelled slightly wrong . . .
Crossy, it was all part of my right wing conspiracy
bwah ha ha ha ha ha!!!
hmmm, can i find any greens? LOL
ohhh ok lol :P
This just in, sources say that Romney has taken an unfair advantage in the polls due to his name being used in a Babble grid. Details at 11.
4? i see 2 (3 if u could mi4 and romney separtely). looking now
ahhh ok i forgot about ne4 :)
Mr. Gingrich, Mi**, Romney, De** (misspell)
roflmao molly!
It is very odd. I think we need congressional hearings on this.
I try to put Mr Gingrich out of my brain ;)
we could count ryan whose nameis also spelled wrong, but close enough for laughs
Totally unfair! Beware of hanging chads!
and ryan's hero ayn rand is alsost in the grid too!
nooooooo!!!!!!
Ks are kowalloppped
the u.s election is so interesting, since we vote an idiot in every time and you have a choice..
but it is time to find words..ploink!
Yep, we Americans are so lucky. A choice between two idiots. Wow.
lol
ok so i give up. is there a list?
cos, in volley's profile
i do not understand the u.s system, but why is there only one guy fighting to take obamas place and not a few?
thanks
Cos, I have Dee's list in my profile.
would be more interesting if there were 3 or 4 mfighting for it
cross, we have a long proud history of two-party corruption 8-)
ty molly. akes it easier to find :)
Crossy, we've evolved into a 2 party system. Many people are not happy about that.
ahh,i understand gwen
I think if we had congressional term limits, we'd probably evolve into 3 or 4 parties within a decade or so.
george blinkin' washington warned us about parties, and especially about having only 2 parties, and i guess that's why we did it. (actually we have more than 2, but the others are too small to count in most races)
Evolved is such a pretty word. A lot of power and influence has gone into forcing this country into a two party option.
A's done. 30 to go
Awesome Cosdem!
we need proportional representation. term limits does not make for more parties, IMO
well,i suppose we are not much better.we have the liberal, the ndp,the pc and partis quebequois and some fringe parties like the green party etc
I chose "evolved" specifically. We have had more parties in the past, and different parties even when it was only 2. But over time... we landed here. And yes, there is a tremendous amount of power and money keeping us locked in this 2 party mess.
now tied with cosdem, and it's time to make some dinner. cheerio y'all, and play nice 8-)
last do5 please?
BDG, I think with term limits, you'd see 3rd and 4th party candidates become more viable.
see ya BDG!
do + japanese currency?
do5/16 word is a senior member of a group, profession or society. Put definition in Reverse Dictionary & it's #1.
ty nrkii
nrkii how many words please
Hello chasey! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
Clue for the ar6,24 please
ty min
Same as the other ar6...use sometimes vowel
ar 6/24 word is another way to spell ar 6/18 word wht.
ty. Another strange word from Enable
sorry chasey... there are 149 total words
ty
and 1714 points
and a pear tree in a partridge
hehe
got 94 fast but .......feeling like a spinning wheel and the hamster is dead...
tyvm Ds done
have a great night all, bedtime and turkey to do in morning!! congrats to all finishers and those who tried!!
night chasey!
I agree Wht. There are some strange words allowed by Enable. Although some people get huffy when people say that. : P
If I cannot complain about Enable, what can I complain about around here? The lack of Democrats in the grid?
Hi again, all!
hi pam!
Hi, nrkii!
Huffy?
wht, I got a sneak peak at tomorrow's grid and HILLARY is definitely in it :)
I had a Schwinn when I was a kid, not a Huffy.
I had a raleigh....
Hello pam! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
I had a bike. Blue, I think.
I had a Schwinn AND a Huffy. : P
And blue Nike roller skates with bright yellow strips and bright orange wheels.
Hi, min!
stripes, not strips...
huffy (def) 1. Easily offended; touchy. 2. Irritated or annoyed; indignant.
I had old school skates--metal with wheels. Not shoe skates, the kind that attached to the shoes.
Yes, Molly, I know what the word means. But I've not seen anyone grow indignant when enable is "called out."
Ugh.
What difference does it make if there are strange words? ENABLE is the final arbiter ... nothing else matters.
Ph 4/10! I am finally done with grid! I dove in 4/4 the grid at flip time and made a di4/5 in the puzzle. Then finished the rest later. I was able to find all the words am 4/6 all the letters in the grid. Now here's a story.I watched the debate between Barack & Mi 4/5. I stood in front of the TV ar 4/5 folded in disgust as Romney acted like a jerk. I kept wondering to myself what the he4/10 was going through his mi4/6. That guy is totally insa4/4! I wish that Barack Obama could've de 4/10ed Romney in the head or sma4/6ed his face in. Although many people are not so en 6/21ed with Obama, I like him. I wish I could be in 5/10duced to him in person. Finally,I think Jim Lehrer did an excellent job mo 7/32ing the debate. He did not give the candidates any mo 8/55 looks, even though he had reasons to. He probably wanted to wring Romney's ne 4/9 when he said he would cut funding for PBS. Some people are undecided who to vote for, but I know I will definitely support the democratic pa 5/16 in Nov.By the way,Obama is not a pa6/30. Husband is acting very do 5/16 waiting for computer. I'm sorry I om4/5ted several grid words, but it's very hard to do a story that includes all the words. I am going to da 4/5 on in4/4 my bed and watch some TV. I will be back wh 4/9 the grid flips and start the grid an 4/8. Goodnight for now to all babblers.
oh, Pam, I remember those. I had those when I was little. Loved them.
I loved them, too!
Anyone else have a complete weather change mid-day today?
I think the temperature dropped about 20 degrees in 2 hours.
ty min first word of ur story i didnt have :) lemme read the rest
its been 30 all day here nrkii
2 days ago we had a 40 temp drop in a hour
Yikes.
*Opens up The Sensitive Room*
It's getting cooler here, and we had some rain....
and i love it
In the morning I went out walking and I grumbled at myself for not wearing shorts. In the evening I went back out and grumbled at myself for not wearing a jacket.
I love the cooler weather, too, cos!
I love the cool weather. I hope it doesn't go back up to 80's next week.
next week highs will be mid 60s here...
For me, 50 is perfect for this time of year.
mid 40s for me :)
Great walking temp, nrkii. Great sitting on the couch and babbling temp, too....
en6/21 please?
en + love
Molly, what the heck is the Sensitive Room, and why on earth would we need it here? (no offense intended)
en 6 21 = to make oneself lovable, I think
tyvm pam
and nrkii
you're welcome!
I was late :)
Pam, you are too fast for me
nah :) Earlier today, I think it was Sprite who clued it wonderfully... e + speaker of Latin backwards
Min, thank you for your story. I got several words from it.

I might have botched the clue....
nope, sounds right to me
I liked it a lot. I just don't want to take credit for it!

cos, yes, the one and only Nellie Oleson
im a new fan of little house :)
I love Little House. I also like for people to know I'm ready to be a Nellie when necessary. LOL. Kidding. I'm not nearly as nice as she was.
oh dear!
stupid monkeys got into the chog space and are casting aspersions at me
I'm a sweetheart. I promise. I'm practically Mary Ingalls, I'm so nice.
Quaking in my boots

pa 5 18 = compensated
ahhh ty

I did a SMALL part of it I think.I usually give up half way on big ones or I babble 'til point score is a specific year.
that's a different way to play, min. good goal.
