Yes DIC is horrible. Kidneys were not working fast enough to keep up with fluids and had to be intubated and possible dialysis; that averted but now kidneys are working to well. Dr says kidneys are stupid; they'll get it figured out eventually and start doing the right thing! Liver has been of concern---she is still very jaundice with bilirubin high and clotting enzyme production not up where they want but they just keep up the treatment and hope. Fluid levels down to where may be off ventilator today and she was able to breathe on her own for an hour with 92% oxygen levels on her own
she will recover, I'm sure.

I cook the meat 2-3 hours then add the veggies, cook another 3 hours. Also you can cut the meat in smaller pieces than the veggie that helps even out the cooking time
