SHalom everyone

nite alta
hi and good night Alta, hi everyone
hi flosey
hi Dee, how are you
sore today... had a 20+ degree temp drop; how about you?
wow, guess you'd feel that, not bad here, thanks
every bit of our snow in our yard is gone... really odd for this time of the year
we don't get very much snow here - maybe one big fall a year, but usually comes and goes quickly
its snowing here now and its -3 out
I think we are reverting to your weather, flosey
brrrrr, cos
wow, cos, that's chilly
down to 16, and I'm stuck
good for you Dee
back to the 40s/50s on wed though
that's F, isn't it, we're metric and I still have to ask
yeah -3 F
-20 C
it's either comfortable or it isn't - that's the way I see it
brrrr cold, whether in celsius or fahrenheit :)
the building here is so warm that we dont have the heat on. the building heat is enough which i love.. saves $$$
that is a plus, cos
wonder how it will be in the summer though
yeah we have a/c though but maybe the building will be cold enough :)
our house stays toasty in the winter, but it was super expensive to keep it cold last summer - hoping this year is not so horribly hot
"but it's a dry heat......." :P thats all I ever hear here when its hot out
LOL... to me, hot is hot, whether it is dry or humid :)
I can stand heat but can't handle humidity
I was raised in Chicago -- humidity is bad there and we didnt have a/c so I know humidity. will never go thru that again lol
I, too, can't handle humidity.
we'd take a shower to cool off and once we step out we're sweating right away
lol, welcome to our midwest ... so very true
you live in a good spot then flosey

aww, ty vm... geographically challenged when talking about Canada... I need to study up one of these days
have you been here dart?
been to victoria and vanc. isl when i was young....while ago
dart, where all were you on vacation?
we lived in Vic 1 year, Van 1 yr, Kimberley 3 yrs, Ontario 30, then retired back here

I used to be in Toronto about once a year for inventories at one of our offices.... but never any place else but Ontario and Niagara Falls.
wow, that's a lot of travel,
my dad used to play golf yearly in Biloxi. How was the weather?
You'll have to rest from all of the driving :)

when we married - hubby was still at U - 2 more years, then he started teaching in Kimberley, BC
then back to Ontario for 30
wow
Hello all -- I klutzed again tonight -- tripped leaving bridge in the dark, luckily landed on a flowerbed. Duh.
as 7/28
ouch jili
oh Jilli, are you ok now?
I'm ok -- left shoulder aches a bit but I think that's my RA flaring up.
still a shock to the system
RA?
oh yes, I know
rheumatoid
Oh yes -- soothing myself with some vodka now.
it quiets the nerves
How's your vertigo, flosey?
has improved, thanks, just a bit thick headed now
that's better than a spinning room
for sure
I don't expect to do very well here tonight, lol!
but wow -- guessed right for the aa5/10!!!
good for you
and the 6
interesting, they were among my first words
you have a good memory (or a list) for babblets, flosey
someone made a lovely clue of li7, just as I came in
I do have a list of them jilli, but didn't refer to it tonight
well, what was the clue, please?
misspelled the word, then someone corrected it
a communication between groups
by George, I got it (not your George)
lol, good for you
he's probably snoring by now
got it before you clued it (pats self on back with unstiff arm)
finally fireworks sans list
at least you now have the arnica cream handy
very well done Dee
wow dee!
ty so much... found this one frustrating
flosey -- how did you know grannyrose's arnica cream arrived in the mail today? I just unwrapped the package after getting home tonight.
lol, I assumed you had bought some here after your accident
Rose will be please to hear it came at the right time
no, I didn't.
well, she will be doubly pleased
It has a strong euclayptus odour
I'll try it tonight -- hope it doesn't keep me awake!
I don't think I've ever used it but I like that smell
I've never used it. Hope it helps as much as she expects.
That is one aroma that makes me congested almost immediately.
sure beats the smell of Lakota
unfamiliar with that
I have some sleeping pills the doc prescribed too...
that'll help
Lakota???
just be careful mixing the sleeping pills with vodka
yes pharmacy sells it
of course, dee
it's great when shoulder gets bad
What is Lakota?
sounds like an Indian tribe
it's an ointment, comes in a tube with sponge applicator
Lakota are a Sioux band in the Dakotas.
yes, has a picture of an Indian on it
what's it made of?
Well, hugs to both of you. Going to check emails! Have a restful sleep, you two!
hugs Dee, sweet sleep
gnight dee -- see you next time
ty, flosey :)
take care of yourself, jili!
I'd have to disturb hubby to get it jilli - will email it
it's the strongest I've found
Will do, thanks, dee
never mind, flosey -- I'll google it
hi Seain - don't see much of you these days
of course, jilli
i've been playing intermittently. Tonight i'm up late for no apparent reason. I've also been ill.
I had a flu, which lead to a torn calf muscle, and ED visit, and my left leg is still 1/3 larger than my right.
sorry to hear that, Seain, hope nothing too serious
I start PT on Thursday
oh dear, have you been off work with this
i hope so too, but my calf was swollen -- injury site. Hospital did an ultrasound to rule out clot, and since then why whole leg has been swollen.
nasty
i'm dong better, but i have a couple months more recovery. I did switch from cane to walking stick, which is progress :) And i can usually do stairs now without much difficulty, which is nice.
trying to be upbeat about progress, else i'll be in the dumps about the swelling.
yes, very frustrating, let alone the pain
happily, the last week pain has been much less. I've been able to drive again -- i drive a manual, and my left leg is the one injured.
awww, dcs, so sorry to see what you have been through.
why did the flu lead to the swollen leg, dc? I've been wondering why you were ailing (via FB) and figured I'd missed something when I was out of the loop around Xmas
good luck with the PT, well, at least that is lucky - no need to use the left anymore for driving
BTW, Lakota ingredients are Medicinal Ingredients (w/w):Menthol 3%Capsaicin 0.035%Non-medicinal ingredients: Purified water, carbomer (Ultrez 10), germaben II, Ethyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine.
i hurt my calf initially in August -- it healed. On 17 Dec i had fever of the teeth-chattering kind. Went to bed. Woke up having kicked off the quilt and the blanket, and with a sore calf.
it works jilli, best I've found
i need my left operate the clutch.
time for an automatic, dc?
thought all cars were automatic
i've avoided it thus far, and only had to go 3 weeks w/out driving. I have friends i can swap cars with, though it didn't occur to me to ask. :)
hey, not before i get mine, jilli. lol. still driving a manual here.
Nope; i sourced my CRV for the manual.
and guess what! i have just realised i have gone 13 hours without analgesia....and i have been to work and all.
it was the only one with a manual transmission for a couple hundred miles around. Happily nearby on the subway.
good for you rose
dcs, i wouldn't give up my little yaris for all the tea in china.
that's wonderful news, rose
Well, waddaya know -- capsaicin is is the active component of chili peppers!
yes, and it's a great numbing agent, too
Oh granny -- so glad to see y ou -- your wonderful cream arrived in the mail today! That was fast!
i also found out why my knee looks so totally different to the left.
oh? Nothing serious i hope.
apparently the muscles are amputated during surgery and stitched back into place after the prosthesis is in situ.
ah, that makes sense.
so NOW i HAVE to have the other knee done, so that they match...
manuals can be fun, but a bit tough in hilly cities with traffic lights.
yes, i live in a hilly area with lights. There's a hill in the neighborhood i grew up in that most people where i grew up were taught to drive because it's a very steep grade to a traffic light.
awww, jilli....my little yaris gives a lot of peeps a surprise. it has a very short gear-box. and it takes off like a ferrari. lol
i learned in a VW Super Beetle, and people are surprised by how little rollback i have on hills; they know nothing of those old VW clutches. LOL
can just see you coming rose
yeah, that was one thing good about the veedubs. the gear-box!!!
well, I'm gald I have an auto -- the Subaru drives very nicely and responsively
I had a subaru once -- great cars.
glad you like it jilli
the yaris on the other hand, you have to rev on a hand-brake start...and the tyres always chirp. gives me the giggles.
hah, nice rose
granny -- did you see my message to you at 2:06
not that i'm a lead-foot or anything. * grin *
yes, dearest. loved the pics. what a view!!!!
no, granny -- I mean here at 2:06 -- your package arrived!
Hello all!
hi Jellen
hi jellen
lovely picture, jellen
Thanks, dc! Just got new glasses.
I started the class I'm taking tonight!
what, jilli? already....that is grand.
Really fast! I'll be trying it tonight at bedtime -- thanks so much -- now I must reimburse you -- please email me about the cost
and btw...remember i was a victim of a scam which robbed me of over $600? well, my credit card insurance has just paid for itself. i have all my money back.
Fantastic Rose and hi :)
Oh, that's good, rose!
jilli!!!! from one friend to another.....my dear if it helps you, the cost is fully paid.
wonderful, granny!
hey liz and jellen!!! my, my...my lucky night...
that's too generous, granny xxx
what a lovely, thoughtful friend you are rose
I secong that, flosey
well i hope it helps, my friend. email me and let me know in a couple of days. okay?
*second ( hmmm, typo time = bedtime...)
awww, shucks, you gals are making me blush.
i should off to bed soon myself, it's half past three.
I'll do that, granny. It will be extra useful tonight -- I tripped and fell into a flowerbed coming home from bridge in the dark, so my left choulder is a bit achy
*shoulder (sheesh, another typo)
Hope you rest well, dc!
that's far too late, dc -- so sleep well!
i have been lately. Injuries force rest :)
awww, jilli. yes it will, hun
that's good, dc -- mine have caused restless sleep, waking every 2 hours
jilli, are keeping up with regular analgesia?
I
darn!! jellen, when i click on you, the new pic isn't there. :(
i'm guessing that's the difference between arm and leg injuries, heal well, jilli. G'night/day everyone :)
long story, granny -- BP sky high on Thursday -- no more Advil, doc's orders. But things have been improving anyway -- could actually lie on my back for a bit last night.
night, dcs. rest well and awake refreshed, my friend
please can i have a clue for one of the 7s
take care, dc
jenny, ae4, period of time + man's name
Hmm...It works for me, rose.
Thanks, rose!
thanks rose
as7, means silly, a + seven deadly ***s + compass direction
li7, li + three-toed sloth + male offspring
I think everyone missed my post about starting class tonight...
no, i saw it...which class, jellen?
Oh, I'm taking a seminar on the American Romantic Vision.
sa7, plural of sa6, sa + ***er, big ship + vowel
oohhh, sounds very posh and educated.
Oh, didn't see that, Jellen -- sound like fun!
I'm a little surprised my advisor put me in it...it's the highest level of course offered in the graduate program.
sa7, plural of sa6, s + **e you being served?, repeat
I'm too tired to go on -- goodnight all and thanks again, granny ...*poof
G'night, jilli
Goodnight Jilli, sleep well :)
si7, plural of si6, si + half an em + **na, abbreviation for grandmother
night, jilli. hope you rest well
ta7, ta + **i*, a den + 2 vowels
un7, plural of un6, un + thing you hit with a hammer
ty Rose for all those 7s - I'd never have found them! Not seeing words right now - too much screen this afternoon. Just back from seeing Les Mis!
jellen, what a buzz!!! too exciting!
Sounds great Jellen :)
oh, great liz...was it all it's made out to be?
I saw Les Mis last Friday and thought it was wonderful. I was a bit unsure of going as I have seen it in London 20 times
I really enjoyed it - saw the show years ago in London but I don't like Hugh Jackman's voice - too much vibrato!
okay, will warn DH before we go, lol.
Really recommend it but be prepared - it's almost 3 hours!
Time flew by though
so go potty before we go into theatre? and no drinks?
liz, now that tassie seems to have died down...planning our holiday over there. looks like we will be going over on the 31st.
Absolutely - got home, downed lots of water and ran to the loo!
rofl.....maybe i won't run....just a fast walk.....
That's fantastic Rose - I hope there's not too much devastation where you're planning to go. You really need a holiday after last year!
oh, yeah....and so does DH. he has been taking care of both mother mac and i. we are planning on driving straight down the middle to hobart.
How long will you take?
looks like 11 days. 4 in hobart alone, then travelling up the east coast, to hawley beach, where we will stay for 2 nights before coming home.
A well deserved break - then dh will be relaxed enough when he gets home, to build your kitchen for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROFL....yeah, right....
The response I expected!
glad i didn't let you down...
I'll get to Tassie sometime - I know it's Australia but Ikeep saying there's so much of the mainland I want to see!
You didn't but I can hope...
yeah i know....we still have to see northern territory and western australia.
... for your kitchen, that is!
oh, and the daintree rainforest.
We've been to the Daintree - lovely - went up there from Cairns, when we had friends from UK staying with us. I also want to go to NT and WA - also to SA!
I imagine there's so much more of NSW and Vic too - I really haven't seen much yet!
okay, almost 8pm here...and DH is still on the desk-top....worms are biting...think i will move him along a little.
See you later - have a good evening :)
later liz. have a good one, hun
good morning all!
Hi, sprite (if you're still there).
hi Jellen :) Yes, am working on the dratted Ks. How've you been?
Hello Jellen and Sprite
hi lyn :) xxx
yay, Ks killed.
I'm impressed
don't be... they took me about 20 minutes!
Oy, wandered away...I've been fine, thanks!
good to hear, Jellen :)
nice to see you Jellen
yayyy I can go and collect my new glasses!
your first pair?
no, but my first pair with reading help. And my first new ... what is it called in english? The outside, in which the actual glasses fit. That is new, first time in over 10 years.
frames
Frames, good to get new ones, I always do!
that's it. Stupid, how I sometimes cannot come up with the most basic words. New frames. I am so happy with them. Will go out (in the snow) and get them after Babble.
hi xeiluj, I usually don't spend that kind of money on myself, life is very expensive here with two kids. But I had to, mine were so old and damaged.
True, mine is all grown up and flown the nest so i do have some spare money now and again. Good to tret yourself once in a while though. Hope they look good x
they do :D Am totally happy with them.
new frame/glasses are a treat I give myself each year. Our private health insurance allows $200 per year, so go every year and find some fun frames and have single lenses put in. My treat for me.
oh wow! Good insurance! I get 150 euro every two years now, with my former insurance it was 130 every 3 years.
I find the frames are the cheapest part, the lens are so expensive.
true, here as well. My frame is only 80 euro. Very reasonable. But the lenses....
I just get single lenses rather than bi-focals - they are sooo expensive - the singles are only $70. And I have lots of glasses, dark, long distance, and reading - silly I know
no, not silly. Another way to go about it and I think it is a smart one.
lo
lo Leg :)
I am about to pick up some new ones actually - they only cost $120 for the whole lot (EUR95).
hi Legend
wow lyn, that is very cheap!
li
I just look at the cheaper frames - usually end of lines but I always find ones that really suit me
li lo ? what are you on about Legend?
how nice :)
lol Legend...
ki4.8 & li7.28, people will start to ta4.8
*grin* for sure
yay. got fireworks!!!
Hooray for Gardner!
wtg gardner!!!!
ha thanks, maybe i can start getting them daily. but highly doubt it
no need to make it a must. But when you get it, it is fun :)
if there were only 24 extra hours a day itd be nice
yeah I know the feeling. But knowing people, we'd just be as busy as we are now.
probably true. don't mind busy though
it is fun when you can take your time and do it without any 'aids'
i ask on here once in a while. or i ask my mother for help as well
always do it that way, except with huge grids and lack of time... then I take a look at the list for the last small ones.
ah, that is fun too, gardner. Asking help is not really considered an 'aid', I think.
maybe not. she kicks my butt at any word game so i always ask her
does she play here gardner?
yes she does
that is awesome. I love it when people rock at word games.
i cant think of her login though
no matter, you are welcome here on your own accord ;)
ha thanks. well must get some sleep. work every day until saturday. will probably be on here same time tomorrow
ok, have a peaceful night and a good day at work
bye gardner
goodbye and goodnight
Good morning everyone:)
hi jean :)
hi Jean
BBL
bye lyn, have a nice evening
Bye lyn :)
fireflies. Good one today. I am off to collect my new glasses :) *hugs* to all.
Bye sprite:)
right am away myself, Happy Babbling everyone I reckon I am a bit rusty at this game I must pop in more often:)
I vote to have all words that start with aa removed from the English language. : )
I know some aardvarks who might be a bit annoyed about that.
Yes, but we could give them a cool new name. Don't you think they are tired of a weird name that most people can't spell?
true. But maybe they're really quite vain and enjoy the notoriety. Thats why they have evolved such big noses - so that they can put them in the air and lord it over the other animals: "oh, you're called a shrew? what a crap name. We're aardvarks."
They probably look at dingos and think "hey, how come they got that cool name we and got stuck with aardvark?"
Hmm, I never thought of aardvarks as snooty.
I suppose sometimes it doesn't help to be first in line after all.
si 6/18; si 7/28 - clue please
si6: colour description. Usually 'burnt' or 'red' on paint charts. The 7 is the plural.
Just found them
It's burnt in the Crayola box too. That is the way I remember the word. : )
Good morning
Morning, all. I have a "crossy type" tidbit for you this morning. Do you know why the giant panda is black and white in color since it lives in lush green forests?
It is so they can find each other to mate. They have no natural predators so do not need camouflage and are very spread out in their environment so it helps them find each other.
No, why?
Oh! cool!
{{car}}
Hi mimicat. Another winner of a morning here.
Tough grid to me. I'm still trying to see all the words most of you find a bit easier than I do. Getting better, though!
It takes time. Just enjoy the process.
I"m still crazy for phantoms, though!
turnip and turnpike for me today!
talisman is my favorite today.
I like to make up words, too. Keeps me entertained!
Gotta go for now. HAGD, car and everyone!
Have a great day Mimi! {{hug}}
Stats please for the center i?
I have one .... il 4/8
and good morning
Hello Mom!

Hi Steve! 159

The Miracle Custard pie
Thanks Car
<---- loves custard
I need a little help off the ledge today, friends...actually off the couch.
it's yummy and sooo much easier than regular custard
what's up car?
I am so overwhelmed right now, I just want to crawl into bed and pull the covers up over my head. Meanwhile, my work is backing up and the house needs to be cleaned.
aww...car {{hugs}}
don't worry about everything at once...
I have all sorts of help and friends and family are being so helpful, but at the end of the day, I am depressed. My mom is hurt and it makes me sad.
any i word clues? or 7s?
sorry :(
is she healing well?
il 4/8 and in 4/4 for each of the i's
hmm thinking. ty car
She fell in the bathroom last night. I can't figure out what the hell she was up to. She has a scratch on her nose and she says that her arm hurts...but not much more than before, so I am waiting for the VNA to come today to check it out.
the in 4 is the dolphin babblet
:(
there is also in 5/14...if you type information into a data system you are in5/14-ing it
you are such a wonderful daughter...just don't forget to take care of yourself as well :)
Totally have forgotten to do that. That is why I am such a mess.
i am right there with you car. feeling the same way today. weather isn't helping either.... it is definitely a hide from the world day for me too. bleh
you said you had plenty of help...any chance to get out and maybe take in a movie or lunch out with a friend? Maybe just a nice drive would help.
Hello eieios. I just can't though and that is all I want to do. I AM GOING to take some time and go to the gym today and run. I will probably break down and cry but I have got to get some of this stress out.
ooo...the gym, that should definately help car...do they have a sauna :)
i have tons of work waiting for me, but am procratinating getting ready by babbling. need to hit the grocery store too. plus other things weighing on my mind.
hope to have time for the treadmill later. we will see. with four kids to get homework done and dinner to cook and the groceries, it may not happen....
i got a workout in yesterday, and it did help. just gotta pull myself up by those bootstraps!
eieios...I will make a pact with you right now...if you walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes for yourself today, I will do the same.
You obviously know, like I do, that we are better Moms once we take even a few minutes for ourselves.
yes eieios, somedays harder to do than others, but we still have to do it
sooo true car :)
lol...something else you can do car, read your profile :)
i think i can make that deal. =) some days it is nearly impossible, but we don't really have a choice, do we?
No shit, eh?!?!/
With my depression issues, I really do not. I have to move or I will never get going.
lol :)
that lol was at the no shit comment not the depression {car}
just saw on the news a CHINESE restaurant call Three Amigos. only in Texas. lol
Advice taken...just printed it out to put on my monitor.
I know smores.
OMG...that is too funny! Arriba!
lol...that is funny eieios
And it is now attached.
:)
Well...I don't know about anyone else, but my work did not get itself done since I have been here in Babble Land. I guess it is time for me to put my headphones on and see what the docs have in store for me today.
Just remember, we can't always do everything, but we can always do something.
I wish you all a wonderful day. Thank you for taking the time to chat with me. It really does help. {{hugs}} all around.
i am off to get ready for work myself. gotta get ready for kids choir kick-off tomorrow!

I disgraced myself last night by putting one of the long, hard words into the chog -- very bad nel
common over ruby i and doing up a pan of diced risset taters with diced sweet valencia onions, chopped button mushrooms diced peameal bacon ,green and red peppers and just a dash of shaved apple wood smoked cheddar on top
happens to us all ruby
Oh pish Ruby that is no disgrace. Lighten up on yourself.
russet
Sounds delish. I'm just making whole wheat spaghetti with Italian sausage tomato sauce.
mmmm
ty Molly. You are true blue (whatever that means....)
i love using sausages, they are so versitile
the only problem is, you can't buy those here so when DIL comes from California, she brings many frozen ones and I use them for months
our butcher makes some very nice honey garlic sausages
sounds like good quality food is tough to get in your area ruby
the only good sausage we get here is veal sausage (boudin blanc) from Switzerland. The locally-made boudin has too much nutmeg to suit me. Also, we get good blood sausage, but my husband won't stay in the room if I eat it
Hi Ruby, crossy, Molly, movieman :)

left to grab a cuppa coffee, come back and chog is full :)

omg. this murray povich(sp) show blows me away.i do not know how they get people to do that.i mean if i got a phone call one day"excuse me sir,i am murray and i run a sleazy talk show and your wife wants to tell you something in front of 300 million people on my show.what do you say?" i would leave the country instantly!
work
have migraine (bearable now due to meds) and am a little queasy
ahhh, hope the day goes by quickly for you :)
could be worse hurshy, you could be watching murray povish with crossie
lol....agree crossy
lol...chrissie
mrs is watching it.i am just hearing them trop out the lie detector results now

That's why I think so much of that is fake. Who would do that?
I know...right? still not as bad as springer
yeah, yeah, blame the wife
true, i would not want to be watching maury povich
my kitties food is in the grid :)
over here it's jeremy kyle who does this type of show
stuck at home for another 3 months and haven't yet been reduced to watching him
and some of these hosts, like springer, are intelligent people. hard to believe. i don't know how they can do what they do. it just makes one feel like the world is so not worthwhile.
Why are you stuck home, Chrissie?
hurshy, how is marty doing?
the world is plenty worthwhile hurshy, just not daytime TV :)
like crossie said, why would you go on such a programme when you know it's not for good news
why stuck chrissie?
lol,now we have a woman running dna tests on at least 8 guys from some party because she slept with more than one that night and has no idea who dad is
half way through 6 month course of chemo Bea, not coping very well
I'm so sorry.
marty is still doing well on the fluid treatments for now. i thought it would be so hard to go through this period of knowing he is going to die, but as it turns out, i'm thankful to have the time with him to appreciate him.

it's weird though, maybe it's different for different cancers, or just different people, my sister in law didn't have all that much trouble with her chemo or her radiation.

yes crossie, we only have a shower and sometimes I would love to have a bath, have to sit on the floor of the shower cos don't have the energy to stand, lol
only 1?! please tell us how many ph, pr, pu you've got?
each chemo is very individual and specific to each person.reaction can vary greatly
No phs
no ph's, have 3 pr's, and 9 pu's
You are missing a pr, smores
ok i can help then i have 4 pr, 5, 5, 6, 5
1st 4 pu's start with the same 4 letters
i lost 100 pounds on the chemo in 6 months and at the end the mrs was sponge bathing me and all i was doing was draggin my arse from the bed to the couch and puking when i was home on weekends
okay so I'm missing a pr6..thanks
that's the easiest one!
sorry to hear it was so hard for you crossie
lol...that figures
wow crossy
do you have anti nausea meds chrissie?
thanks smores, that got me all but one, after those i have the football thing, and then 3 words that all start with the same 4 letters, what do i miss?
got the 6, thans
yes, have tried a few and one provides some help without causing too may other side effects
pu6/36 I think...
there are 2 of them both start the same
no i got those, those are in those first four that you said all start with the same 4 letters
and remember,if this is your first cancer, crissie, try all water ice cold,or sucking on ice chips if you get mouth blisters.ice cream, freezies, the odd scrambled egg if you can get it down and do not forget those ensure drinks you can get at pharmacy
i find chocolate the only tolerable flavor of ensure.
thanks crossie, will do
ok, then the football, then 4/6,5/14,6/24, and 5/14
After the football kick it is pu 4, 5, 6, 5.
for me ice cold lime gatorade worked as well
thanks got it!
all same beginning

Oh here we go. Disclaimer: My comment about Mr. Rogers having a dark side was a JOKE. : D : D : D

I actually like anything children like (I work with kids)....
The kids I am really, really worried about are the kids whose parents parked them in front of the Teletubbies show.
that is an urban legend . . . mr rogers was never in the military
well, maybe not the teltubbies...
I thought it might have been a myuth
But if Mr. Rogers was in the military, he would have made it a better place to serve :)
My nephew (now 13) LOVED the Teletubbies when he was little. He is a sweet, smart boy now.

The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same. - Carlos Castaneda
hmm.... good quote..
Someone was on here yesterday using words like "awful" and "nightmare" and "terrible" and it made me sad because there is no hope in that.
I see a lot of that on facebook
And when you think like that, that is what you invite.
My friend texted me last night.. like 8 texts of stuff like what ur saying molly...
he says his life changed after he changed his outlook
Hello all. Just getting started butenjoying the sunny, dry, cold day here in the great Northwest.
were finally in double digits today
We are hovering around freezing but above it now. There was an air stagnation alert and we can't use the fireplace until the air starts moving.
Cos, I believe you attract what you think. So if your thoughts are all full of positive and hope, you attract the positive. If your thoughts are all full of worry and fret, you attract the negative.
<---Killed the chat. So...how is everyone's dog and/or cat today?

Invictus! I'm from Beaumont, Tx! Hi everyone.
I am in Beaumont too.
I'm not there, now, but I grew up there. My mother was born there. I have a sister and niece there now. Visited in October--took a trip down Taylor's Bayou.
hi all! Hope everyone is having fun babbling! I have a few minutes to enjoy, hope to babble later too! yay!
All of my family lives around here, except my mom's, they live in Dallas. I have lived here my whole life, minus a time when I lived in MD when I was 18.
<---nbt/nbs...now must get beck to work...
And what brought you to my humble state, Invictus?
My ex-husband was in the Army and stationed at Ft. Meade.
Yes. Grid is good today and chat is moving thanks to molly and the texans.
Then, of course, we must be connected somehow, Invictus.
No telling.
We lived in Texas years ago near San Antonio. Great place. But we're not true Texans.
I should have guessed. 90% of the imports in the DC metro area come here because of military or government connections.

MD was too cold for me!
You sound like JMC, also a Texas import.

Champfit. I was born in Houston.
Really? Where?
At St. Joseph's still there, and you can see it on the way to Galveston.
I know...I drive by it occasionally. I was born there too! Back 50 years ago, most everyone was!
Yep--I was born much earlier than that, however. The nuns chastised my mother for naming me Kay (not a real name), but she stood her ground, although my middle name is Anne, which placated them somewhat.
<---Loves anyone who stands up to nuns
Well. thanks for the chat. The chicken soup wants vegetables and so I will put on my vitual chef's toque and bid bon apetite to all.
And if you knew my mother, Molly, you'd know what a brave act that was!
Bye Gran Mere. Hope you can use your fireplace soon.
I had drinks on Friday with two women that I went to parochial school with. We had lots of memories of the nuns to reminisce about.
when I listen to people on growing up where I did, all the women (now middle-aged) talk about how the nuns slapped them around
I was lucky, went to public school
Hello all. May I please have a clue for na6-18 the1st? Thanks
They didn't hit me, but they sure did try to squash my rambunctiousness. Didn't work, by the way.
sorry peach
Thanks anyway, Bugs.
Champ & Molly: Catholic School Survivors : D
The nuns just slapped the boys around at my elementary school. The girls had to kneel.
You know it! I only went till 5th grade. We moved to the boonies so I finished at a small public school. Unscathed!
Need food. bbs
Actually, I have a special place in my heart for nuns. I remember one especially, when I was really sick. She was kind and pastoral.
First NA6 is twangy sound through the nose with an extra vowel in fourth place
tyvm!
That's nice Miranda.
Actually, I can give nuns a break now, when I didn't as a kid. Now I can see what frustrated women they must have been.
ty Molly
My first grade teacher was awesome, but she isn't a nun anymore.
Asexual and totally repressed by the Church.
too true Molly. I got to know lots of nuns when they hit old age and so many are full of regrets. they were doing what they were taught to do. One said, "I was quite nunnish then"
I have an aunt that used to be a nun, and two uncles who were priests. They all left in the 70's, disillusioned. They're all therapists now, in various capacities.
yes Champ. It shows that their compassion was always there but they had to find another way to live it.
Very true. They're awesome!
I have found that people who have left vocations to the church often live very fulfilled lives after that, in helping professions.
I spoke to a former priest once who (in very gentle terms) told me how he thought it was absolute cruelty the the Catholic Church still requires celibacy of it's nuns and priests.
In the old days, women were only allowed to be teachers, nurses, secretaries or nuns. Life was so much more limited then
I don't get it either. It's not biblical.
celibacy was a construct of the church not the Bible
snap Champ
*snap*
Actually the Bible, Solomon in particular, speaks of the holiness of the bond between men and women.
parts of the Song of Solomon are quite beautiful
back in a bit...
sorry I walked away molly.. got caught up in making chicken salad
Good morning :)

K's finally done
I don't know what is worse. A long grid full of normal words that takes a long time to complete, or a regular sized one like this, full of gibberish.
the latter
I agree with cos :)
I wouldn't mind the longer ones if I had a lot of leisure time, but I don't.
Even though with our guests I didn't have time to complete the longer grids this week!
And I'm not a brainiac who can do them in a half hour.
pr 6 please?
a time out place for adults cos
pr 6 - jail
thanks!
Cute definition Bugs : )
Child: Mommy, where is Daddy? Mother: He's in time out honey. Child: But he's been there for ten years!
I had foster kids. It was how I explained where their parents were so they cud still know it was okay to love them and they wud be back.
Nice way to do that for the kids so they could still know it was okay to love them and they would be back.
wow thats a really nice way
sa 6/4 please?
I learned that there was never a child who didn't love their parent or a parent that didn't love their child even if they cudn't be together. Thanks for the affirmation.
sa + double consonant + not down
thanks dumbest word ever
I don't know. It may be tied with sa6/18
hm i hope its not the sa6 im looking for now :P

Hello molly and teach...
hello jilly
Dear Girl Scouts: Cookies are not healthy, no matter what you do to them. Are people dumb enough to believe that your new Mango Cremes With Nutrifusion are healthy? Yes...but they're not. Go back to doing what you do best.
THIN MINTS!!
Seriously, you can't beat thin mints. I like them frozen.
*drooling*
Congrats, cos!!!!!
frozen thin mints with a glass of tart lemonade in the summer
And the poor kids are probably being handed some lame sales pitch about how healthy the cookies are. Liars.
mango creme? thhat sounds nasty
samoas and lemon drops YUM
Everything in moderation is my thoughts..
With Nutrifusion!!!
*adjusts molly's soapbox*
I read a "healthy recipe" for General Tso's Chicken today that made me gag. It had cornflakes in it. Cornflakes. Just eat the real deal once in a while.

One of my shining achievements in life was making my husband snort coffee out his nose laughing when I held up a picture of Sigfried and Roy and said "Look, there is Sigfried and Roy and the only *cough* they will ever love." : D : D

That si6/18 word ends the same way as he 5/12 rururocks.
thanks minver
I found it finally
I had a lot of trouble with several words.
I'm having much trouble with my last eight words rururocks
This was not an easy grid. I don't care what any of the "easy peasy" people say.
a pox on this grid. was a grunt.
I admit it Molly, it had 4 hard words in it!
Anyone need any clues?
Might I have some clues for the two ar 6/18 words please?
ar + math function
ar + yes in spanish + half a hawaiian goose
the second one changes the last vowel
the other one is similar to the comedian ar***** hall
HI Weemee.
HI Weemee.
errr. I mean welki
hi ru
hi ru
2nd ar6.18 is like the name of the Duke of Illiyria, a character from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, but begins with an 'a' rather than an 'o'. The first ar6.18 is the same but with a different vowel at the end.
my keyboard sticks for some reason and enters things twice lately
Hi ruru.
quick! everyone google! hi jac!
Thanks for the ar 6/18 clues. Clue for 3rd an 5/10 please?
welki - LOL! Well, I did give the clue in the way I did so you could 'google' it if you're not familiar with the Bard's plays. ;)

Can I have clues please for the first 2 na6/18 words please
I just found the first na 6/18 word. Clue for the 2nd please
Min - it has to do with the nose.
Can I have some clues for the second pu 6/36 word please?
Insert a word/letter for 'me, myself' in 4th position.
g'night folks - long day
Can I please have a clue for the si 5/14 word Jacula please
Min - 2nd pu6.36 is like the Hallowe'en vegatable but with a different 3rd letter. Or think, making a joke on worfds, a pu* then adding a 5 point tile word for the start of another word, just 3 letters long meaning 'family'.
hello all...i am new here...what does "second pu 6/36" mean?...i assume it has to do with a pu word???
Goodnight, Welki. Sleep well.
Hello penquis! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
Thank you for the pu 6/36 clue Jacula! I just got the word.
Min - si5.14 is a misspelling of treacle, maybe? Thing golden sy***.

Hello penquis. The 2nd pu6/36 is a misspelling used on the internet that some people use to describe their boyfriend or girlfriend was as an affectionate term.

FW!!! last word na6/18
Well done, smores! *~*~*~*~*~*~*
lol...of course joan :) what you use the other end of a hammer to do...plural

Hello joaniok. Nice to meet you! un7 is the plural form of the un6.21 before it which = to remove the metal tack from.
ty Jacula :)
as7...to act crazy...do something stupid
maggie, Hi! as7/28 means foolish, vacuous or stupid. Like an ass.
as7 is adj for being really stupid
Thank you so much!!! I should have figured that one out!!!!!
tyvm
:) no problem
so Jacula did you get your internet?
Pardon, smores? Are you referring to us swapping over to Virgin for our 'phone and TV stuff? We alrady had the internet.
I left out the word fixed...lol
*ties fingers*
weren't you having problems with your connection?
lol...hi ruru
The 'phone connection re Virgin has been interesting though. Many calls both from cell 'phones and from land lines have just faded and cut out. I'm planning to ask first on Facebook if any other UK users have encountered this problem. If they haven't, I'll put it down to our antiquated plug-in 'phone system and see how it goes when we get a new system.
smores - no, not me re the internet thingey. I have super fast whizzy internet.
that's odd that it is both cell and land line
whizzy thingey?.. (opens bathroom door)
sorry, thought it was you that was having problems last week
smores - it's okay. I forget stuff about people too.
your killing ruru here...lol...thinks he's trying to behave

Sorry I am still here! and thank you!
I was too involved in finishing this puzzle. This is going to be a BAD addiction....
Hi people.
Oh. I see you joined Babble the day before my 28th birthday, joaniok. Welcome. :)
Thank you and happy belated birthday! I am married to a NeAL and he is also negative!!!
Ha. Well I'm "Neil", not "Neal". And this moniker is a joke, pertaining to my blogging style.
And thanks... but my birthday wasn't belated. It happened on the usual date. ;)
I am glad your birthday occured on the correct date! I am glad you have a sense of humour....and our Negative Neal is our source of amusement!!
I hope he doesn't actually use that moniker. It's mine!
I've been blogging in this name since 2009.
Hi all. Joaniok, I see you joined on my birthday.
And it's the only online username/ID I have.
