nbt/nbs btw
Shouldn't exist, really....
wtg jili
I have two only also mkg
the bottom two
how can there be 10 of them!!!
start with yo 4/8 add abbrev for north and keep going... yo 4, 5, 6, 7, 6, and 5 from that root
ok giving it a try ty
LOL I must be very blind keeping on trying tho
well ty got 8 y words now.
any more subtle clues?
I feel very inadequate LOL
yo 4/9 and plural yo 5/10 ... a letter
yo 4 yo + north abbrev + 1st personal pronoun
the only thing i can think of is that there is another y - this is a challenge LOL
Not going on with this mess -- too full of unwords -- goodnight all...*poof
isnt that the 2nd last one which i have
yo and then add north abbrev and 1st person pronoun. that is a yo 4 word. then add from that.
yo4/6
i dont see a yo 4 9. i have a 4 6 and a 4 8 but not the 4 9. pleaes bverify there is a 4 9?
yo 4/9 is the first y
I I see the first one which says yo4/9
start with the 1st 3 letters of the cartoon bear... add a consonant
I see the yo4/8 which I dont have
duh i see it now
my frist one is yo 4 8. gee how can i be missing the 9?
ahh i found it. ty for clues.

hi everyone, was in for a bit earlier, back for a few more
anyone still here?
Nope ..
hi torp, thanks for responding - feels a bit eerie
**torg
hi Flosey!
It's late most places in the western world ..
hi saanich, you're up late too
yes, almost 12: here
and you are about straight south, torg, so same time zone
couldn't sleep. stupid foot cramps.
that sounds nasty
in your arch?
*waving frantically* i'm here, i'm here.
Pain is a pain ..
hi rose
painful. Been looking it up. probably an electolyte imbalance. Easy fix if I knew what to do!
Hi Granny, "waves back" over the sea!
well, rose often has a good suggestion
hey saani
granyrose, do you know what causes foot cramps? I gave up searching because there a a gazillion reasons.
Actally the pain is so bad I could consider amputation!
okay, saani. are you sure you are not dehydrated?
I drink about two litres per day, but lately not as much. That was my firdst thought too and drank a few glasses.
Anyway, the simplest way is to get dressed, go into my office and play Babble! I am completely paon-free right now.
okay, to check, pinch the skin on the back of you hand. does it flatten out again quic\kly, or does it take a few seconds?
*pain
takes a while
then you are still dehydrated....drink more water.
I just had another glass while chatting! I believe that you are right. Thank you!
oohs
thanks scouser!
Grannyrose Knows All.
sorry - off to PB for me. This is a grid full of phantoms
and saani...please watch your fluid intake. even if you are taking diuretics, you still need to keep up the water.
Hello everyone
I certainly will and thank you greatly again
np's saani
"pins medal on granny"
saani sorry to bud in ,im having a lot of cramps in foot legs .i found Schweppes with quinine a great help. evrything is worth a try.
Oh, thank you Yvo!
and drink a lot of it
OK. Love the stuff! Can I add gin? (joke)
saani, if it doesn't resolve, contact me, email addy in profile.
thank you granny. saved me a trip to doctor and blood tests too. Are you a doctor?
yvo, company in the US of A, 'Vitacost', sell a product called magnesium malate.this has all but eliminated mother mac's night cramps, which she has suffered from for over 45 years.
no, saani. been a registered nurse for over 40 years. picked up a few hints over the years.lol
wow - amazing. Actually magnesium and potassium are on my list. I do have an on-going problem with losing potassium and have ended up in emer a few times.
ahhhh, do you take a potassium supplement, saani?
A nurse can be better than a doctor in some cases .. In my experience ..
*giggle* i know. mother mac asked me once why she needs to go to a doctor. i said...we need someone to write your scripts.
I try with diet -bananas, tomatoes etc but occassionally do take supplement - would be of more use if I were more regular about it. Torg you are totally right on on that point. Anyway, I'm going to find a few more words and then hit the hay again. Thank you all. Babblers are special and so caring.
saani, there is a product called 'slow k' over here we need a prescription for it. but we also have a salt which we can buy from a supermarket, called low-salt. it is actually potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride. (usual table salt)
there is something similar here too and tomorrow I will get some. It or something similar is available over the counter.
hey, you all. himself just bought me a t-shirt. it reads...do you want to see the doctor in charge or the nurse who knows what's going on?
too funny and soooo right!
good one rose
might cause a stir if i wear it to work....what do you think?
lol, you might become unpopular with a few doctors?
The patients would love it
am sure they would enjoy it saanich
anything to put a smile on some patients
also taking Potassium chloride,im sure taking Lassix is the problem ,so there are so many so called cures for cramps but very few really help .so far this has helped me ,but who knows it could be back tomorow,so anything is worth a try .wishing you the best.
Can't piss off the doctors, now, can we?
does anyone have a clue for le6 please?
Here in BC we are trying to push for nurse practioner legislation so nurses can do more, such as Rx
not yet flosey, will look
leggins
flosey, sounds like what you do to get onto the internet, but starts with le then double consonant
I did try leggies, but no go

sorry thats why i dont chat ,happens evry time
chat more!
yvo, how much lasix, how much potassium chloride?
kje, ts6
noooo. tm6
thanks yvo - much appreciated
40 mg twice a day 10ext release2 a day
tahnks Yvo
hi kj - wow, that's some staircase
tm6, K
okay, looks like you need to double your potassium
can you clue it tor?
i find lasix depletes potassium very severely.
tm + vowel + not bro
thanks Torg, new one for me
this varies A LOT by patient, and low or high levels of potassium can be lethal. do not adjust your potassium without your doctor. if you feel it is too low, have them measure and adjust
ty tor
yqw K
agree with kje, you must tell your doctor what is happening.
what sort of a word is that tm and thanks for the clue
sandy, all to do with linguistics....
there are some strange words in this grid
yes, it is trickier than it looks
i have lsowed with still 60 to go

night, kje. hope you sleep well, and awake refreshed
my beliefs are obviously dont begin with is
i and 3 consonants
sandy, is + p**, prementrual syndrome
sleep well flosey, see you tomorrow
lol flo , its hard isn't it when dealing with a dopey like me!
*premenstrual*

good morning all
Hello, Sprite :-)
hiya zooz :)
Hello Sprite & Zooz
hi lyn :) xxx
Hello, Lynxxx :-)
morning zooz, sprite, lyn
Hello, Glantarell :-)
hi Glant :)
hi Glant!
i am just looking fr my last one
Do you ever think that the reason there are so many obscure and ridiculous 'y' words is because when all the words were given out Y had a tantrum because he didnt have that many and to shut him up they just gave him all the leftover bits? I mean the yo's today are a joke!
:-)
yep, that is pretty much how it must have gone, Dachef :D
which would explain the Zs even more. Hi Dachef
In a way that is good to know, Dachef as i only have 2 Ys will type anything and see what comes of it..lol
woo hoo, found it. done
zooz - quite literally the only way to do it. I threw my keyboard at the wall and got 2 of them.
Hooray for Glant!
Congrats, Glantarell!
*grabs Terra from under the desk and throws him at keyboard*
many of the YOs are variations on a meditative practice and the people who lead it.
wtg Glant!
hahaha Dachef
anybody want a clue before i go do some work?
am still happily plodding along, Glant, thanks though
I have only just started..but thank you, Glantarell.
eeny meeny miny mo? No miny?
ditto - thanks Glant
okey dokey, happy babbling all *poof*
bye Glant, have a grand day
yumm - just remembered I have Yoghurt and passionfruit ice-cream in the fridg.e BBL after I have indulged a bit
omg... lyn that sounds So delish!
Sounds nice, enjoy, Lynxxx.
it is time to get worried when you easily find tm6 early in the grid...
sprite: yup, that was one of my first words!! That is when you know you've been at this game for far too long.
lol Dachef, exactly!
Now that one has been bugging me as i sort of know it..but cannot remember how the correct spelling goes.
you'll get there, zooz :)
Nope it is ok..got it.
Silly me.
:D See, experience babbler!
that and is6/7. Words that only really exist in order to annoy seasoned babblers. In fact, that should be their definition: 'a word made up by enable in order to give grumpy babblers something to moan at.'
I love playing Words with Friends with fellow babblers. Both using lots of babblets.
love the def!
I immediately tried isgism. Didn't take though :)
lol
hehehe... a line on a weather map connecting points that receive equal amounts of sunshine... I knew it was something very very useful.
see, I was right!! Only made up for the sake of babble.
I'd say it is where the devil puts you when you misbehave in his domain
Can you misbehave in the Devil's domain? I thought that was the point.....?
heck yes. Imagine you pray? Or help someone?
Lol, Sprite! Loving the paradox!
;)
I take it you can't have mish with out the mash tsk.
frustrating, isn't it
frustrating, isn't it
ah... hickup time
I see the babble freeze has changed from 11:00am GMT to 10:00am GMT
*defrost* back?
hehe
yeah, it changed an hour for me, because america did the Spring jump thing and we haven't yet.
My monkeys were going great guns then, and I have no clue what I might have put in. If any of them turn out to be actual words I', going to sue someone. Problee.
usually babble remembers what you put it and adds it after the freeze. I had about 10 more words in that time and they arrived.
Good point, Sprite i forgot about that.
Really
* hour change.
Really? Well, in that case the monkeys were crap.
lol Dachef. You should feed them, every now and then.
hahaha dachef, stop making ne laugh when i am about to sip my tea.
They live on a constant diet of intellectual pursuits and expanding imagination, carried with platitudes of learning from great and powerful minds. And not late night TV, junk food and internet conspiracy theories. Honest.
Phantom : Snail.
in that case, Dachef... try bananas.
tried that one too, zooz. Couple of times even.
No, that didnt work. No B in grid.
lol
:-)
insism: the habit to keep on making your case
Very good, Spritey!
:)
m
Good one.
I see google nearly made it onto the grid.
yeah. A dyslectic one
hehe
Are there any GH words?
no, none
Good..will stop trying to find them then.
*grins*
good morning everybody
hi ruby :)
preparing a traquilizer dart for mr. nasty
Hello, Ruby.
puppy girl MAY be coming net wee; she needed another "revision" to her eye
pour him a Dartini
aw poor girl
I'm trying to figure a way of druggig him in his cocktails
Loggism: a serious complaint suffered by lumberjacks, caused by not enough roughage in the diet.
wouldn't that be a logjam?
love it!
stealing it for my babble dictionary
lollol... like that ruby!
Ruby, sounds like you have experience. Im not going to ask!!!
helo ivesy
never knew a lumber jack.....
They like to press wild flowers, and hang around in bars......
good mornin.. a balmy 29 degrees here with a winter storm advisory.... i say shoot the groundhog
but dont the flowers burn from presssing them??
{{ivesy}}
did you ever see Benny and Joon where Johnny Depp makes grilled cheese sandwiches with an iron
not a bad idea really..
I ued oomiak in a scrabble game yesterday and my opponent said "that's a word?" I blamed it on babble
lol.. i have done that too.. babble gives us quite a vocabulary
Im currently banned from playing Scrabble with my family. they think I make up all the words I put down.
happens a lot there. I love playing with babblers for that reason :)
the enable dictionary on the table should solve that, Dachef
Tried that. Then they get upset and claim I must be 'cheating somehow'.
this is just my opinion, but i do not like this grid today
I like it, but it is challenging
I like this grid: challenging but not too silly. Except for the y words. They're just wrong.
guess im not up for a challenge today lol
I get frustrated when a word does not have a plural, like lo6/30. Why can't I just add an S there?
lunchtime, see you later
bye ruby
I'm with you Ivesy. I find it frustrating to search for nonsensical words.
{sprte}
bye ruby
hell and bye molly
or even helo!
molly, if i wasnt addicted to ths game i would quit lol
hi Molly
need coffee.. bbl..actually have day off today.,
Can't say yet, Sprite..still trying to find the lo6/30 lol
sounds like a piece of lumber you are fond of
according to dic.com the lo6 IS a plural already. odd word though. means a wide open space inside a building (???).
seems to end in -ia usually
good morning babblers - walked in on an Italian plural, how nice - -ia ending (feminine singular) - lo 6 feminine plural : )
hiya JBV :)
Hello, JBV.
hi sprite!
hi zoom!
hi guys
one left, T5. I have a te5/6 combo and the tm. Cannot seem to spot the last one.
Hello, Sandy.

Congrats Sprite!
Congrats, Sprite...have a great day.

i pulled out the plug accidently and got cut off lol
Good morning/evening everyone :)
nice size grid today :)
good morning everyone:) and (((stidmama))) if you are here.i am sorry for your loss
Good morning everyone. Crossy, what happened to STid?
seems she had a house fire
all her pets were lost but as far as i know all the family are ok
Oh no!!!!!
there is a post up from her in FB
for those who do not have fb quote: Now that all our immediate family members know, I will post that my darling Lucky dog and Grant's budgies perished in the house fire Monday. We don't think there is much that can be saved, but our insurance company will take care of our expenses while the house is either repaired or replaced. We were able to get things pulled together enough for Grant to play in his school's band concert this evening. As usual, they did a fine job. So proud of Grant and his peers! I am trying to get pulled together enough that I can return to the classroom before the end of this week. Tom is home and handling all the details with contacting people and getting things lined up.
I will check it out. Ty for letting me know.
that is terrible! Iwonder how the fire started. The main thing is that they are ok although it is ghastly that the pets perished
Stats please for the top O in the right column?
oogie is so to a word!
os6
You've got to boogie oogie oogie til you just can't boogie no more....

bye car.
ruby, we're going to be hiking the Cotswolds this spring. so excited
that is lovely! I've heard that they are beautiful and there'll be flowers everywhere.....
leave it to fox news to do something like that.i do not know how you guys can allow fox to air in the states.that is horrible what they did
what did fox do, crossy?
appily, they're not on Fr TV
right ruby. We're leaving at the end of May and will be there for 12 days
they aired the name of that poor girl in steubenville with that rape case
from what I've read, fox news is disgusting
i have heard the same, ruby.i am glad it is not allowed to air here
WTF!
Crossy, the article I saw said CNN, Fox and MSNBC all named her.
I wouldn't watch Fox news, but just that it exists bothers me greatly
why did they need to do that?
just sensationalism grabbing the views, dollars over a underage girl
viewers
They didn't do it on purpose, apparently. They aired one of the defendants apologizing in court, and he said her name in his statement. Obviously, needed some sort of button to blank out inappropriate comments.
i better not look at any more news clips posted in fb
ahh.ok chap.ty for clarification on that
People do get riled up on fb!
still bad form, more care needs to be taken in things like this
they do indeed,champ
Totally agree. If a defendant is apologizing, he very well might put the name in...not a stretch to think it could happen! So be prepared.
still, they control so much, you'd think they could redact something like that instantly
I believe it has been in replays, ruby.
aaah
Must run off and start my day. Hagd all!
i better get a tea.nobody wants an angry crossy in the morning:))
bye everybody
bye ruby
tc ruby
have the tassimo going.taking beverage orders!
i can offer french vanillia, med roast, light blend, african dark roast and for tea you can have earl grey or ceylon orange pekoe
omg, just read your post re stiddy's housefire - how horrible! :-(
wanted to contact her but I see that her icon/profile is now unclickable . . .
ooohhh, have an email addy for her -- is it still yahoo??
ok . . . will check in later . . . bye
Good morning, all. Oh no! Our stiddy had a house fire! How terrible. I hope no one was injured.
good morning judi!
that sounds awful, I hope everyone is okay
Read back in chat. Poor animals! So glad the family is okay though.
Goooooooooooooood afternoon fellow babblers xxx
poor pets, it's heartbreaking
Hi, worzel!
Hi Judi xxx
I'm finding this grid a bit tricky.
more than a bit Judy. need is 6/24
Don't have that one yet, Bichon.
nm, just found it. Do you want a hint Judi?
Sure!
is + vowel + opposite of heaven ...l
name that proper noun! jedi who educated obi-wan
that's the is 6/21. The 6/24 is a geometric shape
sorry, clued wrong word!
that's okay julie
I'm still clueless.
Julie, we are gong to be in the Cotswolds this spring. Is smoking in restaurants and pubs allowed in the UK?
No smokin allowed in any public places anymore
^5 for no smoking!
Great! tyvm for that info
When we were in Ireland a number of years ago that wasn't the case and I couldn't breathe

Morning friends
Hi Bob
os + Paris river without the last letter
ty
ty molly
ty molly.
ah, molly the hero!
ty Molly
Twisty layout and not a word I'm familiar with.
it's def one we've had sometimes here...
i've seen it here before
I'm doomed. :(
Then it must have gone in one brain cell and out the other. Like so many words here do. : )
molly, we were out to dinner last night and the hotel had guiness ie ream. since i am not wild for iced cream and there was chocolate mousse cake, i did not indulge.
grr..computer locked up
Hi TO
Sounds good. I've had Guinness chocolate, I like that. Just a hint of the taste of Guinness.
or a non ice cream lover up against chocolate nouuse on cake with housemade raspberry sorbet..no contest.
i have a guinnes ake recipe and i have guinness in a bottle, but have not tried it.
heard it is no so great as a cake.
yum..chocolate mousse cake. : 9
well, more like a protion of mousse on a thin cake base. ould not even finish it, the dinner was so filling.
I hate guinness, I think it's like drinking liquid bread. If you put it in cake, on the other hand....
actually liquid bread is a good description.
Love Guinness...Black and Tan is yummy
I think it's an acquired taste.
my bottled guinness is really old, but i guess it would work. i have tasted what they tout as draft in a bottle/an. not hardly.
79 down...got go run some errands..bye for now :)
bye
This is an ugly grid. Finally have NBS and NBT.
congrats Bea!
Time for me to bzz...PFFT!
No Black And Tans in Ireland. They call them Half And Halfs. Black And Tan is another name for the Royal Irish Constabulary Reserve Force. Hence they do not call the drink after the constabulary.
oooh, it's national ravioli day! yaHOO! Free ravioli coupon for buca de beppo! and buca de beppo makes a drink called a ravioli!
btw, TO, the lost ravioli book was great.
Mmm, love ravioli.
oh, i must get that. going to library this week as soon as i finish the philippa gregory book.
Almost all cultures make some sort of ravioli, wonton, keplach, pierogi, etc.
I got it through Amazon
and I love P Gregory too.
my first read - the kingmaker's daughter. would help to know the english history though.
Had to look up kreplach. Sounds good.
there is a pierogi sale at the ukrainian church today...
I have yet to read that one, but I will.
There is a fabulous site for getting books and CD's, etc., called Alibris. You can get paperbacks for 99 cents and lots of other books and CDs for a few dollars. I had a textbook that was $124 at the university store that I got for $8 there. Been using them for years.
Oh, and hello everyone!
Hi Mimi
(hego)
ty Mimi XX
hi all
Hi JMC
ahh, the PB.
Hi, jmc!
i buy from alibris too. . .good buy for textbooks
*looks for why hego is in the PB*
NO, you're icon.
your icon.
oh! haha
: )
Second time this week we've had a word in the grid representing an adolescent movie......
??
???
go7/36 and go6/24
hi all, help with lower O pls
ty Molly
Peri, I only have the Spanish hurrays
i am looking for it too peri. . .
Oy, had to go back a couple of 27 years to think of that one.
hooray?
os 6
Hi Ruru
hi ru . . . you are up early
os6, looking
adolescent? I was a kid!
oh4/6 electrical unit
I have an os6/18 but it comes from another O
ol 4,4
Or meditation sounds
ty hego, did not even have that one
ty Molls
ty all
ty molls and mary
may I have a nudge for the 8's and 9 pls
Nice Easter icon Ru. I had to go ask Alice what it meant. : P
ty Mary, too
those aren't meditation sounds those are orgasm sounds
:D
I've uploaded a new icon but babble is being slow at changing it :(
i was a mother when that film came out. . . .
actually they are what mary said. . .electrical units
So was I and that movie got played so many times in my house I think I know the script word for word.
actually, I take it back. That movies is exactly as old as I am
my son was too young for it. . .
Mael, you have to refresh a couple of times.
So was I, jmc...my kids loved it.
Actually, oh4 is a holy Hindu meditation symbol as well.
i just watched an interview with judi dench talking about her new film in which she will play the real Alice
hehe, I've refreshed plenty. It'll do its thing when it wants to do its thing. I've decided to be zen about it. :)
is it? i thought it was spelled differently. . .
My kids actually saw it later as they were too young when it came out.
It's spelled several ways.
oh okay. . .
stats for the second row T please
tm6/21
Can you dig it?
oh, my
well that would explain why i could find it!
I was wondering if it was going to be a tm or tp! That's nuts
Gone until later....bye all.
wow there is a word for everything!
bye mimi
Peri, qu8/55, in8/50 and io9/66
We finally get a decent size grid and it's full of gibberish. But REJOICE! We are learning new words!
yay! sort of...
i think tm6 will be enshrined with zarf in my lexicon!
i wish mother was alive and i could ask her if she knew what tm6 meant. . . .
maybe i could ask my knowitall oldest sister. . . not quite the same but . . . .
"yay! sort of..." is pretty much the way I feel about it Hego. : D
i don't see and i next to an o for the io9...????
Sorry...is...
<---Doesn't care for knowitalls.
oh okay ty
me either but i have several in my family. . .
cvgfbvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv\nvv
goodness mael!
crap, sorry! cat walked across keyboard
hahaha
Oh, I thought maybe mael's bar had opened early today.
I thought you'd had a breakdown.
if only, molly
need a break. bbl.
working from home has its challenges: one is a feline and the other is constant access to my fridge
okay i had hoped for a moderately quick nbt but that is not to be. . . bbl
138 left. . . *poof*
is it me or is this a nasty grid
molly, is the 9 an io9/66? I don't think theres an io unless Im blind
is9
ty will look
is there an sp or sm?
sp6
wow. no idea
wow.
I don't have it...
i got it
yes.. it iw wow
Ru, I thought you were one of those finished in 20 minutes kind of guys now. : P
afternoon everyone :)
Hi Katie
eggo is in the grid - no wonder i wanted waffles.
I will make you some Belgian waffles TO. They are better than Eggos. : D
oh ty! yes they are. i switched to aunt jemima's and they are 200% better and NO artificial ingredients at better price.
for frozen, that is. i rarely drag ouyt the waffle iron.
hi...i like aunt jemima
but can't find them at the store..they bought out downyflake
Happy Spring to everyone!
back for a few more :)
By calendar definition only here Aloy
oh oh.. nasty weather, smores?
just cold...high today is 32
flurries expected for the weekend :(
a cold front came through and we have a bit of much needed rain... up north, we usually had some snow around St. Patty's Day.. but it was winter's last hurrah - hope it gets warmer for you too
si4...
Spring blessings to you too, Aloy.
.. going to get dictionary, must look up a newbie just found..
we just had an emergency preparedness presentation at work
half of which was about active shooters
*grumbles .. friggin's spring.. it's raining here.."
oh fun..
they say "this is the world we live in" - i'm like, "no, this is the COUNTRY we live in".
they say, "anyone have any questions?" and i wanted to ask, "yeah, how do i apply to move to canada?"
lol
go7.36 means "a boy" ! where have I been? never ever heard that
the last go7.36, not the first one
and did you know the NRA is working to make sure that people with restraining orders against them for domestic violence can keep their guns? oh joy.
just got to G's... will look for 7's...
ty, Molly... am thinking tulips, croci, lilies.. and pulled out my Hot Cross Buns recipe.. bake them on Good Friday and deliver them on Saturday to neighbors .. look forward to making them every year
alo maybe you'd like to clue these g7's you've found
yummy Aloy
Hot Cross Buns sounds religious
sure, the first go7 is a pl. for "nutty people"
actually ruru, it is pagan
really? never knew that Aloy
the cross on the top symbolizing the four seasons
well hot cross buns means something else entirely in San Francisco :D
Back for more agony...
the second go7 ends with "y'all come back ****", don't be so long away
hiya Bzzn
tell me, ruru..
Hi Bzzn
ty alo
yw, that is the one that means "boy", go figger
wow, i just noticed i had an instinctive horrified reaction at the letters "igger" even though you said figger, not the n word.
trigger too
name those two silly words from a waffle commercial! ***** my ****!
leggo eggo
ding ding ding!
Crossy sent me here to play. I type in words that the letters are there for but it says the words are not in the puzzle????? What am I doing wrong???
Kitty, look at the "Help" above this box. That might help.
TY
welcome, Kitty... are the words made of contiguous letters? (the letters must touch each other and the same letter can be used only once).. check out the rules in "Help"
Understand a little better now, TY
quins
time to scoot.. have fun Babbling, all.. see you on the second day of Spring! Poof
Is today your first time playing, Kitty.
see now that would work if you type it in the right box...
what do the 8's and the 9 start with?
in8
is9
oh dear
qu8
Oh dear, indeed.
well if any of those are normal, let me know, otherwise, clues would be greatly appreciated.
hello
the in8 means to catch or snare
we can't have login OR logon? i mean really, at least pick one or the other.
It is the plural of the in6/24
ty bzz
The is9 is the plural of the is6 meaning shape
just found it :)
ty
The qu8/55 is the plural of the qu5/16
ooh and i monkeyed the Q!
I think I will start each grid by entering the mh4.
:)
still missing 1 Q...have qu5,qu4,qu5,qu8
are there any gh?
no
lol..Bzzn
qu6 singular of qu8
hello again
inner is cooking and I have a few minutes to myself
Hello ruby.
phantom: halogen
is the first i in the third column the is9?
it comes from the top, yes.
Hi ruby :)
ty hurshy
I would rather do house work than this grid. That is saying something!
Agreed, Bea. Was thinking of stopping to go do laundry. Must be bad.
*puts hand on Bea's forehead* there there , dear, sit down and rest your eyes
Hi, y'all.
finally, thanks hurshy
I think I will go clean the kitchen and scrub toilets.
:)
Later...pfft!
I'm gonna go as well...time for some lunch
It's official. Scrubbing toilets is more fun than solving this grid.
too funny
Back for more
go 6/30? P&TY
1 with 100 zeroes, from whence popular search engine derived its name
gracias
I can't make that work; what am I missing for the go6
hi Carla, hurshy, ruby, Molly
the search engine changed the spelling to create its name
ruby, reverse tha last two letters of the search engine, but change the vowel
ruby, I had to use said search engine to find the proper spelling.
aaaah, almost like the author
thank you
lol hokie that's so great
I just typed in "100 zeros". ;-)
queso es no palabra. por que?!
I tried it, too, jay, but they accept mi4
insole
oops
thanks.
glad I could help ;-)
my god, this is an evil grid!!
would rather do the vacuuming, but i will hang in a bit
really? i just started. well, i'll go get some queso and come back after lunch.
very evil crossy and all those esses
boo hiss and bye
dinner will be served IF I stop banging my head on the keyboard
lunch time
29 left - think I'll go eat lunch, do laundry, shower, figure out what I'm making for dinner, and then maybe come back.
<boing> <Boing> <BOING> Welcome spring :-)
lol,howdy kate
minus 6 and snowing here..i love spring:/
hi crossy... looks like a grid even more evil than yesterday's
ineed ,those is words and a mh4 and the os6 and that wild go 6/30
just got started, didn't see the clue for the 9, mh4,or os 6... did get the go 6/30 though . perhaps i should go read the chog
i would.this is nasty
methinks i will list, with only 24 words found.... back soon, gonna read the last bit of the chog in the archives
think i will head for the archives as well..
awww, the chog log won't appear even though i tried refrreshing babble...will have to go it alone for a while
hi Kate
hi bichon! happy spring :)
Sure doesn't feel like spring here. Cold and windy, plus we had snow and ice yesterday
same here, but at least there is a bit of sun peeking out of the clouds. it has been a very dreary winter this year.. sooooo looking forward to some warmer weather :)
I'm sure it's colder where you are, but March is supposed to go out like a lamb
we usually get about the same temps as you.. but here march came in like a lamb - so is supposed to go out like a lion... just GO already! back in 5...
hi, all. I am stuck on the go6/30. clues, please?
hello winter doldrums here, too. Enough is enough
like the search engine but with a different ending
the search engine + the Russian author
we're all more than ready ruby hi angel
the only constant has been mud. in between snowstorms it rains
yuck
11:09 for the go 6
101 words and I give up
bye everybody
europe has had a rotten winter, we see all the flooding and stupid late season snow you have been getting on the weather network here...
bye ruby, come back for one more go later
thanks for the assist. fireworks.
well done! was the go 6 your last word?
Which Russian author?
sorry bea, i don't know what ruby was referring to - go 6/30 was clued at 11:09 by hurshy
oh, it's off the chog now - 1 + a million zeros i think - math term
sorry - 100 zeros
take the search engine, transpose the last two letters and change the vowel
Got it. Thanks!
yw
has anyone found words that end in --ish or --ism?
the latter is a word in itself Kate
None so far. Still have 45 to go.
thanks bichon!
and now i have 44 to go, but i listed right off the hop today :)
back again
This is the hardest grid in some time.
hi Bea, Annie
hello bichon
hi annie crossy called it truly evil ;)
Hello all.
7 left and I have only the one.
Hi Kate and Bea
thanks mixi - well done to get down to 7 words!
I still have bt and bs.
qu 8,pls
hi mixi
hi all
has anyone heard from Stid?
john qu8 adams lol.
me too, don't have the 9 or an 8, nothing from the top i, top o, or th second t... it's a cracker today, for sure!
qu8 - plural of the qu6/33
ty Bea
hi crackers, i've been here 1 1/2 hours, no stiddie - of any ilk ;) thanks for the qu mixi!
Kate, do you have the is6/24
geometric object
i only have 2 x in and 1 x is, sorry
like a hexa*** or penta***
tahnks bichon! that gave me 2 ;)
yvw
Now make the is6 a plural for the 9
If you add the sometimes vowel to the is6 you will get an is7
ty bea, was just trying to ferret that one out.. never would havve thought of that combo
se 6/18? pls
Kate, did you see the news about stidmama's fire?
I just noticed you were commenting on her absence
no i didn't chrissie! is everyone okay? sorry bichon, very few se words in my list atm
ty all. 3 left.
se4 + not out
someone else was asking about her... i usuallly see one of them around this time..
se6/18 ends with grievous eror
goooooo mixi!!!!
Trader asked if ism was 'part' of a word -- it 'is' the word, just plural. Took me forever to see that one.
or se4/4 + not out
Check out crossys post at 6.57, family ok but lost their pets
got, ty
that's awful chrissie!!! i will go back and look at the chog - if it will let me, tried earlier, but it wouldn't load... back in a bit
How horrible!
Thanks for the info, Chrissie.
the chog log still won't pop up for me :( there's almost nothing worse than losing a beloved pet, though i am very glad they are all okay
I'm going back to cleaning the house.
do you want hints for your last words mixi? .. not that i am much help - still need 32 here
It's very sad that bad things happpen to good people
As much as I hate celaning, it is so much easier than this grid.
Here is the post:
crosshair for those who do not have fb quote: Now that all our immediate family members know, I will post that my darling Lucky dog and Grant's budgies perished in the house fire Monday.
"cleaning"
Pfft!
bye bea river - thank you so much for posting - i am never on fb any more, the info is appreciated
yw - very sad indeed
sounds like it was a devastating fire, so horrible..
making tea, back in 5
fireworks.
Congratulations mixi ;)
Nosies
OOps, not a real word anyway
can I get a clue for in 6/24 please
in + me4
thanks mixi
congratulations mixi, and thanks for the in 6 and pl for in 8
any hint for the se 6/27, se 7/40 (combo?)
se 6/27 shiny, decorative things on dresses, etc.
thank you luv, such a fish too!
np Kate, took me a while to find it too
i was tripping over the t's ;)
thank goodness I looked over here. was looking for those SEs with no luck. would have never looked there.
anyone have the tm please?
lol, nm pulled a peri
well, peri shares ... hehehe
monkeyed the sp 6/21
lol tm 6/21 t + **, myself and I + not bro
noun the interpolation of one or more words between the parts of a compound word, as be thou ware for beware. ... the things you learn in babbleland!
wow, I won't be using that word any time soon
Fireworks! Adios, y'all.
congrats and hagd carla!
Fireworks for me too
Off for a cuupa!
good job spellit! i've been struggling with 6 for ages
Can I help?
if you have the time, make a cuppa and come back.. my monkey finally found two words :) going cross-eyed with 1 oint tiles ;)
*point
Back soon
:)
back in 5
fishing for three more words... naturally they are in and is words - the in words send me around the twist
breath kate
or rather breathe kate
hi there ursh :) am determined to get these words... am breathing fire;)
are you finished?
inosi
no mean one of the in words means to breathe in
still have 35 left
as you can see, my monkey soesn't like 1 point tile words... havve the breathe word.. looking for a in 5/10 word - lots of combinations in the grid for that one! trying everything here..
is there anythinmg i can help you with ursh?
tx kate but slogging along will shout if stuck
:)
ugh! got the little blighter a fish i thoght i had tried ages ago
in5/10 = in + when jellys goes firm it is ***
oh good
that was the one ursh! can you believe i missed that one?
when i go to the list i am always mortified at some of the words i miss
i threw in the towel and listed with only 24 words found... never would have gotten close to finishing without it - thank goodness for lickety!
lots of plurals here and some alternate spellings
i listed with about 50 to go
you have more fortitude than i could possibly muster!
i am amazed that people find these words without a list - a lot of them i have never even heard before
i think a lot of people use the a to z lists, but i find that i go cross-eyed very easily with it, so only use it if i can't beg a clue.. then there are all the wunderkinds like volleymomdee.. that have been at it forever - and seem to remember every word they ever found... what i wouldn't give to have a memory like that!
the go 7/36 word was like that... i used the a to z for that one... don't think i've ever seen it even in a grid!
i prefer morewords and try to only use when really stuck (which is quite often)
i never seem to remember the link for morewords, and i have had a hard time getting the links to work today. was trying to read back in the chog log, but it wouldn't "load"
www.morewords.com
isn't there a link through angelsong or something else in friends of babble?
i find the links can be unstable so just go straight there - in fact i have a shortcut on my desktop
that's a good idea ursh! thanks for the morewords link.. got my last 2 is words with it in no time! fireflies :)
i think spellit got lost on the way to make a cuppa ;) brb
yay kate good going - i have 8 left
wow! you got down from 35 very fast!!! we should call you speedy gonzales :))
hi all, back for a few more
hi flosey, have you been luking?
reading back, you can get to morewords by clicking "Resources" above, beside Options
i se it now, flosey, i forget to look at the very tippy top - when i first got expert, it took ages for me to realize there was anything up that high - never really looked... d'oh!
glad you found it
what are "ballon hints" - now that i found the options box...
oh, i think i know.. d'oh again! what a newbie ;)
georgeous daffys in your icon today, longing for spring here... cold and windy - again
ours are out in full bloom now
have never looked into Options
we had such a good start here - nice warm spell in feb and early mar, then winter returned... the crocuses are starting to bloom, but daffys and tulips are barely out of the ground.. and only because of the head start earlier...
I've been checking out airlines, seems very expensive to fly just now
may wait until Fall - I do miss the beautiful Maples in October
you're coming back to your old stomping grounds? will hubby come as well? can yur new grandbaby do without you? now that march break is finished, i would have thought it wouldn't be too pricey to fly now.
hubby hates flying - he waits for the kids to come here
but I grew up in Ontario and my heart is really still there
noun Meteorology . a line on a weather map connecting points that receive equal amounts of sunshine.
well, perhaps you will win the lottery and you can travel by train - in style!
when you do come, we will have to throw a little get-together for you; if you can spare the time :)
I'd love to do that one more time. When girlfriend and I were 18 we took train to California (old school buddy moved there) then up coast to BC and home through Canada, it was quite an experience for a couple of kids
that would be lovely Kate, will let you know
looking forward to it flosey, hope you can come.
thanks, would be a hoot
train trip must have taken a very long time, how long were you "riding the rails" for?
does anyone have a clue for sa6 please?
i willhave to get crossy involved, and i think carlee cat is close too - london area? there were some babblers from greater toronto, but don't know if they're still around
like the instructor for karate... different first vowel, is that enough?
or french for "without" plus 2 vowels
thanks, got it and the 7
:)
i can clue for about 40 more minutes, then it is closing time here.
second ni5?
backwards "not out" + last part of the se6 word you just found
thanks, got them
i thought that was an sa6.....
hi BJ, haven't seen you in a while
i'm around. lurking as usual.
hi brandy, it is the sa 6... but just using the tail end of the word to tack onto the ni
except last week, was in L.A. visitng with daughter.
ah, another local babbler for a get-together!
last is5?
its like a canadian invasion here today....
lol, lather, rinse repeat... see clue for the ni word you just finished flosey
yes
the cannucks are taking over babbleland <smirk>
down to 4, all s words
2
go flosey, go!!!
FW last word, sh5/12
wooooot!
congratulations flosey!!! that last sh was a bad one for me...
and now time for late lunch, thanks for all the help - I'd have given up on this one
it was a nasty grid flo, hagd!
chat again Kate and hope we can arrange a meet-up in TO sometime this year
oh, there's another fellow in TO, just got married last year I think, can't think of his name but will pick it up if he's on again
will seeyou in the chog flosey, though not on thursdays, saturdays or sundays...
ok, bye for now
we should start to compose a list of locals, if crossy doesn`t have one already
How are you fairing, Kate?
Or is it faring?
faring.... hi again bea, doing okay here, must go soon closing time in 10 minutes - grid completed if you need a clue
Are you at work?
no, internet cafe.
lol, it`s a small town; surprised they have one at all, they roll up the streets at 6 pm in this little back-water burg ;)
Almost 5 pm there?
yes maà m!
Same here.
there are quite a few of us strung up and down the eastern seaboard - though i don`t think i really qualify...
last call for hints, must go very soon
I'm doing good. Thanks anyway.
sorry to babble and run, hope you have a good one, see you friday :)
Ta!
*poof*
hi all, help pls with the 8's and 9
in + a knit of open texture, plural
in8/50 - entangle. plural of the in6/24
ty Bzz and Molls
qu + not out + a ****ta is a Mexican nap
I have used up my quota of y words I have 4/10
The other 8 is qu8/55
just found two more y words
ty for the qu 8, never would have found that
All but 2 of the y words start with the first three of Dannon dairy product.
ty Molls
I have the two that don't
Ihave all the y words
Start with a person who does downward dog and build on it.
Well that was quick. : D
good monkeys'
but I am stuck with 66 left
what does the 9 start with pls
It's not a very friendly grid.
is
no it is not
The 9 starts with is that is
ok
I found an is6 but not a 9
is 6 9 7 7 combo but there are two unrelated is6s
I probably have the wrong is6
bbs and will go to lickety then
does it end with the devil word?
because if it does, then yeah its the other is6 you need for the 9
no
don't think so
what is the devil word
is + vowel + the devil lives in ***l
ah, thanks
but that doesnt lead to the 9. the other one does.
Oh really, I had the right one to start with
just do a fancy kind of plural for the other is6 for the 9
Love the icon Cos : D
I am trying cos
i updated it yesterday but expert still hasnt refrshed grrr tyvm molly :)
is6 + two vowels + pl letter maybe?
tyty, cos for the is9
wtg yw!
now taking a break, bbs
Expert must have a bug about it. Most people who use it say that about icons.
usually it takes expert a few hours for me.. never more than 24 like now. odd
love you blip, cos, so you know her too, huh?
eeny me5/16 mh4/6 :) who s'smom?
my girlfriend who has had to have her upper lip waxed regularly since she was 15..lol
lol oh .. naw but i know a woman who has a goatee...
me too
for real. her family made everyone promise not to talk about it to her because its a sore issue
That seems so unfair. We women have a lot more shave-able hair to deal with than men.
she had to quit her job teaching because kids made fun of her so much
the last straw for her was when rumors started that she was growing a you-know-what
I would have to resort to laser for something like that.
Hello all...
i would be the tweezer queen
hi jilly
my ex had to put me in a headlock to be able to tweeze my eyebrows for me because i am such a wuss lol
LOL...when in high school, I quickly adhered to the Ali McGraw trendsetting in letting my eyebrows go untweezed. Now in midlife, I began again-just so my eyes would show up more..
Never done a guy's eyebrows. I did have to use an eyelash curler on guys when I was in theater. And they didn't like it one little bit.
nbt/nbs...77 down..
i dont mind eyelash curlers :P
My boys used to love watching me put my makeup on...LOL...only one is gay though..

OMG--when I was a child my mother used to give me crackers and tea for breakfast!!!
No hallmark moment for me. I was reading a hilarious article about how quinoa is so yummy.
I's identified! 7 left
Yo6 is from Sanskrit and is the root of the yo4 it builds from. (I just looked it up)
Actually quinoa is pretty good, especially if you can't eat wheat or rye or barley.
I like it well enough, anyway.
L's Liquidated! 4 left

Hi, everyone!
Hello MimiCat! How are you doing? Welcome to chog.
May I please have a clue for any is word? Thank
Thanks, Min---haven't chatted with you for awhile. I'm waiting to hear about a possible job on Friday. How are you?
"is" word.
is6/24 is a geometrical figure whose sides are the same length, so it ends the same way a lot of geometrical figures do - penta***, hexa***, and so forth
Great for you MimiCat! What kind of job would it be?
the is9 and both is7 are related to it
is4 - the ending of a word denoting the state of the word, such as optim*** +s
is4/5 are beliefs
is6/21 is a line of constant sunlight
It's with a Radiology practice doing scheduling. Easy for me since I did Rad. transcription for 20+ years.
is5/10 are Japanese immigrants (also the ni5/10, 6/18, and 4/4, different generations)
good luck, mimi!!
