hiya jili and ru!
blech creepy snakes
jilli, have you been swimming yet?
not et, flosey -- tide rather low today, plus probably hordes there and little parking.
bet the water is chilly
ah, yes, especially on weekend
I tire quickly in this heat
i like the heat
ruru, it won't be chilly -- at high tide it will have come in over sun-warmed rocks and sand and pebbles
it's nice if you can sit on the deck sipping g&t
I love the heat -- 80 F here today, just right.
no fun sitting on the deck alone.
unless you have a good book
great greetings everyone
hi pugs
hi puglet
evening puglet
does anyone have a clue for fa6/30 please?
Hi there, puglet.
oh, I see I have to slink off to the PB for saying ti 4/5
you guys talking about temps; I talked to my sister in Vegas and they had a temp of 120
ouch, I couldn't take that
We had 122, yesterday, in AZ, as well
neither could I
Only 117 today tho =P
That's too hot, pug -- I'd heard about it.
You in vegas Moon
Nope phoenix
apparently thats close enuf for weather like this tho
phoenix was cooking this week
sound like it--I guess these are record temps
Yea. Hopefully the winds storms tonight will cool it off a little, but Im not holding my breath
Usually its not even close to like this until august... its making me a little nervous for later this year
110 here today at 4
at those temps, a pool would feel like swimming in a bowl of soup
lol, some pools are heated, never heard of a cooling agent for one
Possibly. Ive just been trying to avoid it entirely and not gone outside lol
hi Flosey, the fa 6/30 is brit sp of pooh
hi saanich, and thanks
no sh** sann?
i'm going to bed.. night jilli, flosey pugs, moonw, saan,
good night ruru
goodnight ru, sweet sleep

night ru, just as I was winding up for a punny night with you too.
ty saan
gnight ruru
hi jilly, is it getting hot your way yet?
<---done a zillion puns today.. no laughs
hardly
tomorrow, then
here's hopin'
saan , just nice and warm 80 F here today -- about 28 C.
shucks, ru, musta missed your puntime
good swimming tomorrow then unless we get an algae bloom
We don't get algae blooms at Vesuvius beach -- just red tide sometimes.
we've had nothing but rain rain rain! Rain everyday last week and scheduled for rain everyday this week!
Lucky you jilli!!
Unfortunately I won't be able to seim tomorrow -- have to be home at 5 pm for an early supper -- bridge night. Ti4 will be too low earlier.
*swim (bldy typos!)
falling asleep, goodnight all, probably won't finish
over halfway and bedtime. Goodnight all...*poof
nn jili and flosey

I am going to try and find the cc I out it on too
{{{andree}}}
Hello Kate
hi pug :) hope you are enjoying the grid!
hi (past)pink :)
hi kate
lol hi tkate
so far its enjoyable--lol
:) just up to get a drink - am parched! i really must sleep, i'm tired from all the heat...
a drink good idea its after 5 so a wine it will be
it may be the sleepiness talking, but this grid doesn't seem very friendly... i was at it for a while at the flip. already had my wine with dinner and chog andree, i'm after water and juice now. easy to get dehydrated when it's this hot.
ive taken to adding Mio to my water and I find I drink more water
mio?
in US a flavoring
good idea, but i don't much care for "diet"sugars... prefer the real thing [- gimme sucrose every time ;)
any grid where i get over i/2 way without lickety is a good one so i am quite enjoying this
stuck at 146
some small containers of concentrated liquid flavouring designed to be added to individual botttles of water andree... you have them, but under different brand names, i'm sure
117 here
159 for me, i need to get my re4 end back into bed....
not heard of them, i add a small amout of lime juice to my water
awesome
i like that too andree, it's very refreshing!
i would love to stay and chat, but i am exhausted. hope i see you tomorrow andree, we have some catching uup to do :) good night pug and pink :)
gnite tkate
Night Kate
bye kate
lol, just found a 7! hugs to everyone, especially the lurkerz poof

judi:)) any day on this side of the dirt is a good day, because although life may indeed suck at times, death, she does not put out at all:))
Happy Canada Day to all Canadians!
stole that from frank zappa
ty poodletoes
It is my dogs birthday, too
when we would be grumpy in the mornings, my mom used to tell us that we can choose what kind of day we want to have, that it was up to us. as a teenager, I hated when she would say that. however, there's a lot of wisdom there ; )
brb,must flip the bacon..:))
*grump grump grump*
that was an excellent zappa quote crossy - I'm so stealing that
ah... finally found that last pesky F that was being evasive... Brit spelling with their unnecessary vowels! ; )
we use the same language as them, kje:))
morning all, just got up. another sleepless night :(
but it will be a good day anyway!
morning,peri
good morning peri - sorry to hear you aren't sleeping
rained yesterday and last night and more predicted for today
LOL peri - good attitude!
sun is out, birds are singing, bacon is sizzling..;))
not my usual attitude but I am trying
ugh. it is easier to be gentler to yourself on rainy days, I find
a big grid and friends in the chat. and a cat who is peeing INSIDE the box!!
nbt in 22 words. not too shabby, if I may say so
go trif!
thank you kje - for a second there I thought no one could see me....
peeing inside the box is a good thing:))
i see you ((trif))
it's early... we are all slow, trif
its all good
just found a nice oddball da 4 using the high point tile on top of the grid;) and pl it for a da 5/20
fireworks
woohoo annie!!!
how's the city, annie? hot yet?
wow annie! huzzah!
today is humid and muggy, ughy weather..going to rain later
there are lots of plural, ed endings, er ending with the plurals
so... good day to stay in
nope, have to go out and do some errands and the library is calling to me
nbt in 120 words. not as efficient as trif
wtg, mixi
good job mizi!
the library will be nice... though a book on the sofa sounds nicer to me about now - lol
kje, Is there a transit strike in SF--is it affecting you?
nbs in 126 words. lol
I hear BART may not run today, but no, doesn't effect me... and I can hear the MUNI buses so they seem to be OK. I either walk or drive to work
mixi...sorry, gave you a z back there.
the sofa, a book and a cup of fresh brewed coffee is heavenly. I still use Peet's, the coffee you recommended
50 left... time to list
I love Peets!
and so I am out of here, bye de4 babblers
wish i could share this costa rican coffee with you all,it is superlative:)
enjoy the muggy day, annie
d
glad I'm not in a flood zone. we've had 8 inches of rain since thursday., I think.
wow.that is a lot of rain
want to send some to Colorado.
another beautiful day here.sunny,70f and a gentle breeze blowing off georgian bay
heres something fun: mr hate called me this weekend to tell me he is getting married again. Saturday. I was so tempted to ask "whats the rush, did you get him pregnant?" but refrained.
because I am a grown up now :)
yup.time to move on
good morning - happy canada day :)
good morning, cybernan and happy canada day to you as well
happy canada day to you happy candians!

don't feel like a jughead!
also er 4
duh, all words I should have found myself
ty
can i have a clue on that sw 6 please?
peri, be good to yourself. we all get grid locked now and then
Just reading back in the chat. lol, Trif. Will you be sending a wedding gift?
I might send a card with the children.
sw6 - sw + start of alphabet + Indian ruler
I would have liked to have been invited, actually.
you let people in love get married in that state,or will we be seeing them here in canada for the nuptuals?
means self-rule in India rather than British rule
tyvm kje
yw
name the year that happened for a crossy breffast
apparently that is what they were waiting for, crossy. they have been able to get married in massachusetts for years. recently the supreme court said that all states must recognize gay marriages, even if their particular state doesn't.
def the weirdest I've seen so far
not getting that sw6
it is an odd one indeed
45 points, peri... use the biggest tile
not american indian peri. indian indian.
ends in the high point tile on the bottom peri
sw + Scarlett O'Hara lived at T*** + 6 point tile
There, a whole cavalcade of clues
ty all, I did not see that six point tile
morning molly
Hi Trif
a little something to go with mollys words in her profile;)) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ECUtkv\n2q V8
make you enjoy the day a bit more:))
Trif, I am having evil thoughts about the wedding. What you should wear and how you and Valentine should behave while there. Mwahahahaha!
*grumble grumble*
we weren't invited, molly, but thanks. I would be the soul of support and discretion in front of my children.
smile ,judi and the whole world smiles with you:)
Yes, you were not invited. Crashing it is part of the fun in this evil scenario. I'm sure you would be "kind" for your kids sake.
luckily I WAS with valentine when mr hate called, and he was a rock. He helped me think it through, feel it through, etc. To be honest, I really don't know how I feel. mostly I just felt....nothing. which I am taking as a very good sign. I am happy for them. really.
A frown is a smile turned upside down.
btw the year of independance in india was 1947
er
takes more muscles to frown than smile ,so be lazy and smile!
valentine and I are going to cape cod for the weekend, pre-planned, to spend time with his mom and sister. Im focusing on that.
who is getting married Trif
forward, always forward
my ex, ruru
Okay, ruru's icon made me smile.
oh good
Ah, you had me at Cape Cod then lost me at his Mom. : D
good riddance trif
he looks very much like that icon
except bald
shes wicked nice molly, as is her lovely home, so it's all good
LOL
no gap in my teeth either..don't forget that kje
Okay, I could put up with anyone who has a lovely home on Cape Cod.
valentines nephew is a five star chef, and he will be there too, and is making a seafood extravaganza for us all on the 5th. Im so excited!
Yum!
ah, yes, true... no gap in teeth...
Clambake!
this valentine guy is sounding like a keeper trif
Ah, a much, much better weekend than spending it at the ex's wedding.
god, I hope so ruru. I really frigging hope so.
and I agree molly. I just hope the kids are going to be okay. I am 100% of their emotional support.
Color me shocked. "crawdad" is not accepted.
Only one A, that's why.
Kids seem to be fine with the "second choices" their parents make, as long as their parents seem happy.
I've seen it go the other way, but that is when the parents were not done with the baggage from the first, failed relationship.
I hope so molly. The man mr hate is marrying HATES kids, and girls in particular, so it's never been a comfortable fit....
oh jeezus
Trif, your girls need a good relationship with their Dad. The step-dad-to-be is just an add on.
Sounds like a marriage to be made in hell.
whatever. it's between them, not me. I just want them to be okay, tertiare in particular.
FW
well, when he marries Mr Hate,he is marrying the entire family,so he better get used to the idea
I agree molly. but my husband in law is ALWAYS present. mr hate doesn't do anything without him, even with the kids.
yeah he stuck his .. never mind
Having a relationship with someone who was not invested in my kids would be a no go for me.
part of the package
congrats kje
but you should have waited for me
yaaa for kje!!
me too. and valentine has MORE than delivered in that ar4. he LOVES kids, he was a great dad to his own when they were younger (they are adults now) and bonus: he ALWAYS wanted daughters, never got any, and fairly DOTES on mine, which they love.
huzzah for kje!
yay, kje!
And not for nothin' but it sounds like a very insecure relationship between the ex and his new guy.
He sounds like a true gem, Trif!
"sounds like a good man,trif
I have given up trying to figure it out, molly. truly. it's their business now, not mine. I just protect my children, and hope for the best.
how old are your children, trif,if you do not mind me asking?
However, we'll need to see his picture and a CV to advise you properly.
okay, honest truth: my first thought was (and I am NOT proud of this) "I wonder if I can ask for more child support once they are married, as their incomes will be joined"
not at all crossy! Primo is 20, secondo is a week away from 17, and tertiare turned 14 last week.
hmmmm. not sure about the photo thing, but I will see whatI can do....
Couples who are attached at the hip, and can do nothing without the other one present, have issues.
So girls, get you hip reduction sooner rather than later.
my flickr account is all messed up, it wont let me add any more photos
my flickr has been messed up for 5 years now
i still have that oriental family in my profile.at least they look good.family of runners i think
i have tried to make a photo of us at a wedding my profile pic - but I think we look all stretched out and squished...or huge. let me know, okay?
It's a little distorted, but you both still look good. He's a cutey!
Hi all...at work so just have a minute to drop in :)
You look fine, and very happy.
hi smores!
that family account is "crosshare' whereas mine is "crosshair" and flickr has never fixed it for me,so i gave up on them
What's with the tie? Did he lose a bet? : P
thanks molly. it was easily 200 degrees in there. and I LIKE that tie!
I like his tie. It looks like a Jerry Garcia.
i picked it out. thanks.
nice to finally see your pic, trif:))
thanks crossy.
where is the pic posted?
on my profile, cybernan
ah see it now -- had to refresh
red head?? look out!! batten down the hatches and hang on!
hehe
ha! thats what valentine says!
every red head i have known has been..feisty:))
he says if he had known how crazy fun red heads are, he would have started dating them decades ago. Im his one and only red head, you see.
when i was a single guy i always tried to take a red head to parties;))
we are a good time, that is for sure. lucille ball for the WIN
hehe
looocy, you have some splainin to do!
There is a legacy about red haired women, and it's good. This I know because I am a natural red head.
lol, that would explain a great many things:))
viva red heads
:)

<---Will drink anything single malt

<---will drink anything McCallan

you've never had hubertus, crossy
Keep the sterno away from Crossy.
*Puts sterno out on the buffet tables*
*pours crossy a glass of butane*
i used to drink flaming zambucas but it played hell on my mousetache hehe
Judi, Ru and I are sharing the same evil brain today.
come home from the party all singed with my lip bare and open patches in my beard
Well, I've reached my age in the grid. Gonna take a break and do some actual work work. BBL. *POOF*
the flaming zambucas sounds like a gay Italian quartet
: D : D
lol, depends where you source out the coffee beans
down to 45 - need a break - bbl
just passed the half way mark:)
d
morning all!
suze!!
hi crossy!
how is your fine self today?
pretty good, crossy, enjoying my first day of retirement (although I have a student defending his dissertation this afternoon)
have you seen suze? NASA is asking the public to help design equipment and groups to track asteroids in the near eath catagory since they only have 5% of those under the largest size pinpointed and tracked
yaa for retirement!
that is cool, crossy, a lot of things like asteroids and comets are first observed by amateur astronomers
they want to try and capture an asteroid soon as well
catch and study and rel;ease
they've visited a couple of asteroids already, very interesting
most interesting is they have uncoverd some radiation isses that would halt a manned mission to mars and they are now developing a star trek type 'shield" for the transport vehicle
"seens during the travel to mars, the astronauts can expect to be exposed to a radiation level equal 100 times what we would be exposed to in one year here on earth
"and that is not good, considering the length of the voyage
yes, that is an even worse problem for interstellar travel; you go fast enough (assuming you want to get there in some finite amount of time) that the stray atoms between the stars hit you with enough energy to be dangerous
how is frank doing these days, suze?
oops, went away for a bit. Frank is doing ok, still struggling with chemo side effects (especially the runs). Hoping it all eases up soon.
good ,good.i should come over there.fatten him up with a crossy breffast
Hope that clears up for him Sue. I know you two are looking forward to some Summer travels.
there you go :-)
hi molly, not sure how much traveling we'll get in this summer but we do have a trip planned to Hilton Head in November and will probably visit family then too
Oh, I thought you had plans to go see your Dad and then up into Canada.
well, we had thoughts, not quite at the level of plans yet, we are taking things day by day at the moment
hello everybody
{{sue}}
((ruby))
hi ruby!
Hello Miss Molly
What, me worry? ruru
loved the flaming zambuccas!
:))
i blow them out now before drinking them:)
!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA !!! :D hi crossy, sue, molly, and ruby :)
hello kate
hi kate, and yay canada!
((kate)) and a happy Canada day to you as well!
two very good Canadian riders in the race Go Canada (barely any Americans)
Hi Ruby. How is the grumpster today?
<------ olde fashioned gurl here... calls it dominion day - and damn the torpedos ;)
lol, ruby, still watching those spandex covered tushies?
either works,kate
Mr. Grumpy went to Lourdes and is all better! I think he was just feeling neglected 00 tant pis
(the front part is more interesting, crossy)
kate,i actually have some upper canada tokens from before the big event
God bless those in need of constant attention.
blushing at ruby's lewd remark ;)
If only God could look after them
well,we all know about our ruby...:)
I'm sorry Kate (bad nel)
<---Not forgetting Kate's lewd remarks of yesterday
really, crossy? how on earth did you manage to get them?
:-)
i collect coins and have 3 fine examples of upper canada tokens from the 1820,s and 30,s
oh sure, one time i'm not a perfect lady and i'm taken out to the wood shed for it, never to letit be forgotten ;)
as you know were did not get a mint going and our own decimal currency untill 1858.even then for the fist few years it was minted in england and send over on cargo ships in wine barrels
Ruby, take a back seat. At least you are not fantasizing about Ru in his underwear.
do you have any newfie money?
yes id do,kate.i have several newfie half dollars from 1905 to 1911
ruru vacuumoing in crossy's designer baacon g-string... but i swear it wasn't me lol
the are rich in history.not only was this the time of the potato famine out there but a working mans wages for an entire week would total this one coin
Oh *cough* sorry *cough* Kate is a perfect lady.
:-D
lol,i just spit coffe all over my screen
I hope it didn't have sugar in it
all wiped off,i keep electronic wipes handy
<passing crossy a cloth to wipe up with>
what i would love ,kate is a sample of the newfie 2 dollar gold coin
last one i saw however had a value of just over seven thousand dollars;(
i guess they are pretty rare? that one must have been in excellnt condition. didn't they also have british folding money?
just checked.you can get an 1880 2 dollar newfie in f grade for 41700.00
$1700.00
maybe we could all chip in....
not seeing those middle re's
*following mr foxx
the 1880 is the big one
hi nan
the 1872 is trhe one i priced first
ouch! oh - that's better, just chump change crossy, just open up the piggy bank ;) would the value of gold have any bearing on the price of it? gold has come off substantially lately
i love the "100 pence" on them
hi nan :)
hi ruby
I was looking at that 41K
Nan: to make a rotary phone call again, but drop the last letter
no,it is the collectable value that is driving the price on these.the bullion value in them is about 300 dollars
makes "cents" to me... after all they were british :)
ty erda and hello
YW and hello ruby
just give me a 1921 half dollar and i will be content;))
hi erda :) ruby is going to buy a 41000 coin ;)
ty erda
I lost my whole coin collection when I moved to Miami and my stamp collection when I moved to France.....
Hi Kate
poor ruby:((
along with a trail of broken hearts lol
how did you lose them ruby? that's awful :(
careless ruby is more like it
got them all now
the movers in the first case (along with two stuffed birds and a TV) and the storage people in the second case along with a lot of other stuff
you have my sympathy ruby, i know what it's like to lose things ou cherish >> sux big time!
ty kate, happily, I still have my plate blocks and mint sheets
*Gently reminds Ruby to stop bashing herself*
err, what mint sheets do you have, ruby?
well, get printin' gurl.....
i have a sheet of our now defunct 2 dollar bills:)
I started collecting US ones when postage was 8 cents and then everytime I had an extra couple of dollars, I'd buy another. I thought it was a valuable collection, but my son and I looked it up and it's only Worth about double the face value
i just put aside a five and ten dollar bill brand new... we'll be all stoooopid plastic bills by fall :(
I hope you aren't waiting for them to be worth more than face value, crossy -- we got the sheet of ones and that is still their value
Ruby, my kids have proof sets too, not worth as much as I thought they would be by now.
when my father still had the candy store, now and then we'd find indian head pennies or wartime steel ones
i had some of those steel ones!
but they're beautiful to look at, n'est-ce pas, Molly?
indeed, cybernan.there was too much warning and everyone has one.however i do own a 4 block of 1925 25 cent shinplasters
Unless you find a very ra4, out of print coin, most of them are not worth much.
it is all in the grade, mint production and rarity molly.i have been collecting for 20 years now
and error coins of course and varriants
doesn't everyone have an upside down airplane stamp? lol
an error being like the penny i have struck on a dime planchet;)
lol,i used mine by mistake,kate
little cute puppy just mosied in to visit
how'd that get out of the mint, i wonder crossy. neve heard of something like that before...
and rarities like the 1921 half,1921 5 cent silver, the 1948 dollar etc etc etc
or is thatmoseyed
it happens when they are ready to switch production and the hopper that held the blanks was not checked properly
the latter i think ruby ;) like journeyed
then there are clipped coins that get a bite taken out of them during stamping
phew, half, nbt and nbs
and double strikes
good night ev erybody
yaa for ruby!!
gn,ruby tuesday
well done ruby! niters ruby, take care :)
{{crossy}}
People with rare coin collections are very wealthy.
ty kate
some are indeed
and belong in the PB
good bye, ruby tuesday, who could hang a name on you...
i know a fella who is the proud owner of a unopened mint roll of 1948 silver dollars
{{molly}}
*!* ta da *!*
he probaby puts it in a sock and used it to rob 7 11's
yaaa for cybernan!!
*Pours Nan more good champagne*
lol,we do not have 7-11s
yay nan
congratulations nan!!!
help with af5
hello
yay nan
ty, all - and for the champagne thoughts
Let's see...convenience stores, corner stores, all night open stores...
ya!! 123 words with no help from clues or lickety. *pats self on back*
a+ french word for fries
we do have them crossy, just not in your town... are you jealous of the fella? we could mount an assault and get them for you...
lol,no,it is ok,kate
ty
i fear that you will be sorry you asked for that clue toad. and hi :)
right now i am on the hunt for a 1921 5 cent silver
how come?
I was always taught that no question is a stupid qeustion. :)
question
hey look at that, only took 4 days for my profile picture to actually show up correctly
any other clues wanted before I leave?
all questions are good ones
Always better to question than to stay silent.
a nickel made out of silver - what a confuzzling concept...
haveing the same problem toadette -- my canada day icon still hasn't shown up
would like a clue to life, the universe and everything????
it is,the silver content on our 5 cent coins was .925 up untill 1921
All good Nan, thanks.
lovely family, toadette
and in may of 1921 they did a massive recall of them so they could melt them and srat making them as you know them today
i see your canada day icon nan it was visible yesterday
And I see your Canada Day icon.
must be just me that doesn't see it then
Refresh, refresh, refresh!
the recall was too successful.the compliance rate was roughly 98% of the total production for that year
sounds good, molly, but doesn't work
i have heard people discussing this before - it shows to you eventually...
just out of curiosity, is the J used in any word today?
still, 2% must have been a lot of outstanding coins?
yes it is, toad
not thaat i've seen yet toad
thank you nan
nope.some lost to time, some damaded, many made into charm bracelets.the total collectabe and in good grade is believed to be 20-50 coins
yes in sw 6
ty erda
damaged
oh dear..... hunting for words with j's in them... <puts on deer stalker>
sw 6 ends in j
sweet thanks Nan... I'm good at guessing, lol
thanks nan, monkeyed in 2 tries :)
off to the online library to find something new to read - back at the flip :)
bye nan :)
here is todays pricing on that one, kate.check your jewelery box! hehe http://tinyurl.com/dysybme
ok bbs
cough, choke, sputter!!! 75 grand for a nickel??? i'm wasting my time looking for a real job... it's amazing how much some of the old currencies are worth! (so poor, i can't afford to pay attention) lol
hehe i have seen two of this particular coing in person.one was in f grade and collectable and worth around 7-9 thousand dollars, the other was welded into a charm bracelett of other 5 cent silvers and the coin would of been worth ten grand befoe but was reduced to it's silver value.i gave it away as i could not bear to look at it
just making a cuppa, brb
charm braclets out of coins as well as coins with holes drilled in the for wearing atound the neck was popular at the turn of the century and up until the late 1920,s
power nap time.bbl
i had a coin bracelet in the 70's, but it was all new coins. used to wear it all the time - it made me feel "rich" ahaha
sweet dreams crossy
Hi and Happy canada Day!
Hmm...now where did all those Canucks go?
hi hego :)
:D
Hi Hego !
Hi Diane!
they're all out riding moose and waving sparklers whilst drinking copious amounts of beer laced with maple syrup :)
I thought I'd changed my icon but it's not showing yet.
hi diane :)
hiya Kate :-)
hah! i'm in Montreal, and they kind of only half celebrate canada day...
I see an old photo. Is it you?
Hi Dorens.
Yes it is... 54 years ago
hi hego, and all others. bienvenue a montreal
I remember it from FB.
I will keep refreshing until the Canadian flag shows up.
hi Dorens :-)
i see it diane
i see your flag diane. you might have to close and re-open
good.... maybe the refreshing has to be done on both ends/sides
I will close.... BRB
nan did hers yesterday, and she still can't seeit, though the re4/4 of us could.
nice picture, by the way diane. where was it taken?
That was taken by my hubby, in Victoria B.C. We'd just become engaged the night before !
Awww..........
quite a special photo then, glad you shared it with us :)
Happy Canada Day!!
you too galli!
and also to you galliwags!
thanks
wont allow diarea!!!!
??? hi deeha :)
diarrhea
needs 2 r's and an h.
Hi TK - OK I could never spell that word anyway!!
Hi Peri and deeha
hi peri :) are the spelling police on duty today lol ;)
hi hego, hi all. I am trying to declog the bathroom drain with no success. Have tried baking soda and vinegar with hot water 2x and draino once. water still sitting in the sink
tough grid for me
spelling isn't important in the chog, but in the game it's kind of key.
Peri, did you plunge?
yes, many times before the other attempts
uh oh
can you get a snake peri?
I also used a "snake" and pulled up some gunk, eww
eeewwwww.......
I gave it my best shot
keep using it peri, there msut be more down there
you may need a longer snake?
I am not the only one who uses this bathroom and no one noticed the water was going down slowly!!!
Peri, are you using the Drain Max Clog Remover?
you could also try opening the p trap
I had a clogged shower drain. Called a plumber. But before he came I had a rack above drain where I kept shampoos etc. I always keep them upside down so they run quicker. I forgot to put the top on my Johnsons body wash and the whole lot drained away - but oddly it cleared the blockage. So be careful what you put on your skin!!!!
Drain full clog destroyer. claims to clear clogs in 7minutes!! hah!
p trap?
Nope. Any max drain clog remover has to sit in the drain for hours.
put some in at bed time and clear it in the morning.. a good over night soaking should do it
I am afraid to use it again since I do not want the sink to overflow
the loopy part of the drain pipe usually directly under the sink - has a big nut on it to unscrew
you should bail out the sink - but don't put the water in the toilet!!!
I just checked and the water went down, YAY for me!!
<----- peri the plumber :)
Right folks think I will go and have some supper. BBL
Hi galliwags :-) I just read your profile. I have an ex sister in law in Campbell River, nephew in Black Creek, brother in Port McNeil and all my other siblings in Victoria !
ttfn dee :)
but we are all originally Albertans.
Hey diane, it's great out here on the coast. A little warm today, but we are going fishing later this afternoon, and having dinner on the boat
I'll be talking to my sister in Victoria a little later this afternoon.
Sorry, phone,back now.
Hi everyone, just in to see if icon changed, bbl
One of these days I want to go visit flosey and jillibus on Salt Spring Island
Went to BC last year to see Bugsaw and Jillibus.
My first trip to Ca.
I'd love to visit with all of you... I should put it on my bucket list :-)
Did you have a nice time Hego?
And now I must go feed hubby a hearty breakfast; he's just mowed our lawns and those of 3 neighbors... he deserves to be fed ! Be back later.
It was lovely. Great food and stid and stidgmere came up.
Slojn
and uusue too!
good afternoon everyone
Hi Bichon
(brain fart typing) I would like to have a babble get-together
hi bichon :)
they are great fun, I've been to several.
wish there were more of us in the east... surprisingly few considering the population
st 7 40, can't believe it!
made me think of stidgemere
??
: O st7/40 made you think of Gran Mere??
the st 7 40, sounds kind of like a nickname ....would you pervies prefer to return to yesterday's chog and say it reminded me of someone else? LOLOLOL
hmmm.... missed that one.
I'm pretty sure Gran Mere is nothing about a st4. *Thinks Kate needs to flush the brain cells*
pass me that drain max stuff please ;)
Pervies??
giggle
She is a doll actually, and with a great sense of humor.
any other clues for ST7/40
sounds like what you do for an exam.
but spelled very differently.
Well built men, plural. Weird spelling.
Oh sorry, not a plural.
st + your wet ground is m****er than mine.
that's an odd word
Yes, there are lots of them in Babble grids.
Well it is to me.
definition says slithy, not sure about that either lol.
Twas bryllyg, and ye slythy toves Did gyre and gymble in ye wabe
Yes! That's where I've heard that before!
I knew it was familiar!
What's a momrath?
peri the plumber :)
You need to be on LSD to understand Lewis Carroll
lol, poor Peri.
Molly, I think so.
I used the draino again just to ensure that the drain was clear
and is it?
Yes!!
*Puts an iced gin and tonic with a fresh lime garnish in front of Peri*
Hooray!!!
momrath = anger of a mother
she deserves it
And I need to be on SOMETHING to transcribe this totally nuts doctor!!! Hi, all.
thanks, Molls. and I already had one.
Good Kate, very good.
Hi Mimi.
yours sounds better. I do not have any fresh limes. need to buy some.
See...LSD...and you thought that was chocolate Kate was eating.
oh dear, how did your first day go, Mimi?
((hego))
sorry i dropped out there, went to feed the birdies and make a cuppa. such a luxury not to e pressed for time!
good for you Kate.
Kate, you are allowed to go live your life. No apologies needed.
{{{(((mimi)))}}} haven't seen you for a few days! how's the new job going?
106 ;eft
Last week was fine...no crazy doctor...but had to start doing some of hers yesterday and today.....this woman is completely NUTS. I only have to try to do 10 of her reports a day, thank goodness, otherwise, I might lose my will to live.
go, peri, go!!!!
my cat is back in the closet :(
After I do those ten, I can move on to the normal doctor and actually make some money.
is cat unsure of his/her sexuality?
lmao
My cat is back in the closet? Is that like Grandma is on the roof?
haha, no cat. she usually does that when she is not feeling well
LOL, Kate...I was thinking exactly the same thing!
love that joke
perhaps mimi would like some of the aforementioned LSD to cope with said crazy woman?
maybe the crazy doctor is on speed or something
Am hoping to get vodka later if I can find a ride to the store. Still too hot here to walk even across the street.
bl
maybe doctor is not really a doctor, but plays one on tv?
Love it. Better than bs. : D
Peri, she actually does sound like she's on something...not only does she talk too fast (thus, the alien chipmunk reference from me) but she slurs her words and says "T" all the time for no reason.
I'd brave the heat for a drink, though.
bye peri :) you've been baking there for ages mimi, time to look at moving to that little cottage you and crossy want
uh oh, doc sounds highly unreliable.
I would if I could, hego, but have to be careful with my heart condition.
ocd and tourettes will both display like that...
true Mimi.
You're so right, Kate. Am starting to look in northern CA (so I can bug ruru), Idaho, Colorado and here in the mountains. Can't move until next year, though.
Kate, you're right, I need to modify her nickname to "alien chipmunk with OCD and Tourette's on drugs."
when a girl can't even get a vodka fix because it's too hot by opening time, it's high time to move ;)
somewhere cool.
does she also have a "crazed look" (actual medical term, lol) in her eye?
And without pollen, dust, etc. Need to move to the North Pole because it's cold and I don't think I'm allergic to snow.
Don't know, Kate, will never meet her. I work for a service here and the dr. is in Colorado. I'd frankly be a bit afraid to meet her...just imagine being her patient!
My fingers are tired......
Some doctors say "tee" for transesophageal echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiogram.
you don't want to come east then, too much ragweed here.... unless you want to go to nova scotia? canada would love to have you!
Yes, but that would make too much sense. Besides, she only does women's exams like mammo and such. She says T for absolutely no reason at all....constantly.
I ADORE Canada and have thought many times about moving.
Hmm
i knew someone who said "dween" all the time too... i'm sure she didn't even realize it... at first i thought she was eliding "do you know what i mean", but it was out of context for that most of the time...
Gotta get back to work...at least I'm done with the alien today...now I can transcribe the better dr. and get some reports out so I can make some money...I get paid per page.
Sobering to think that we Babble people are the sane ones in the world, isn't it?!!
bye mimi, make lots of cash... gotta get the liquor store to deliver your viodka, and that costs ;)
Actually have some coming on Thurs. with my grocery order! Bye, Kate. Hugs all around.
my liquor store delivers.
I've never used the service though.
take care mimi, maybe see you later tonight :)
aredi
oops, monkey is mis-behaving ;)
Liquor store delivery...I have stories about that from recovering alcoholics I know...probably not fit for Babble chat. : )
too bad.
do tell!
Yeah, well people get offended here too easily. They are funny though.
not Kate and I.he he
:D
unfortunately, i must go. bbl
bye hego :)
hi everyone, back to get the last 93 words - hopefully
hi flosey :)
hi Kate
it just started raining here :( weather network was not calling for it....
ah, nasty
mother ature is going to blow out canada's birthday candles... BOOOOO!
nature
it's cooler here today than yesterday, was quite hot
bridge tonight as usual, so will miss the fireworks
jill was off to bridge yesterday, must be nice to have a bunch of people to play with!
we lived in Aurora 1965 - 1995, (Canada's Birthday Town) they had a parade up Yonge Street every July 1st
ah yes, Jill has a 4some Saturday afternoon
I often spare in a Friday afternoon game
that af5 is an odd word, haven't seen it before
they still hold that parade flosey as far as i know! i miss bridge, though i haven't played since college - don't know anyone who plays (and i've probably forgotten every convention i ever knew)
We had a fair sized club in Aurora but guess that's too far for you
it is odd flo, think i saw it once means arabian demon or monster
am surprized you wouldn't have an ACBL game in your town, Kate
aurora is ages away for me flo, i'm down at the end of the QEW now - right at the peace bridge
ACBL?
American Contract Bridge League
it's big, and they have tournaments all over creation
but also lots of duplicate games around - that's a great way to improve your game
ah! they may, but i just don't know about it. hesitate to contact the seniors' or ever 50's clubs in town, not ready to accept that i'm not getting any younger ;)
i used ot follow the duplicate bridge column in the paper, but gave up onit years ago. i used to play contract bridge - but an absolute tyro...
phone brb
burning school houses, sparklers, pin wheels, and screamers!!!! woot :)
that was a dear friend from Greece - calling to wish us happy Canada Day
we had promised to visit Greece this year but, unfortunately, don't feel that we could stand the lengthy flight
what a kind friend to remember you today :) did they used to live in canada?
she taught with hubby for a few years and became very good friends
her family moved to Toronto, so she visits from time to time
could you stand the flight to britain? about 5 hours... then stay over for a few days before continuing on - or go overland by train/ boat to complete the journey?
think hubby is just not up to any lengthy travel
i don't think i'd like to be in greece in the summer - i'd melt! and they are having a lot of civil unrest due to economy...
I'd love to do it as a cruise but hubby would find that tiresome
then, finances permitting, how about a nice leisurely cruise :)
no, we went a couple times during March break - way back, when we were younger, hahaha
i'll go with you! though i have seen most of europe, i have not seen any of the mediterranean.. would love to see italy, spain, portugal and most of all greece (archaeology nut) herculaneum is on my bucket list...
we did Spain one year, beautiful country
... and great food from what i hear! (though, unfortunately, i don't care for seafood)
where did you go?
saw a bullfight - briefly, left in disgust
i don't think i could stand that either flo, can't stand to see an animal in distress. not even these so-called no kill ones...
south coast - Marbella(spelling?) and Torramalias - whew, there again can't remember - that was way back
so did you get some quality beach time in? it sounds great :)
while there took a day trip over to northmost tip of Africa - memory is really pretty vague, but enjoyed it all
no, no beach time - we were travelling with students
morroco i guess? did you see a casbah?
go tho rick's ar ?
bar
yes, we could easily have lost one of our 'girls' - someone tried to get her in between the carpets that were hanging in rows -- fortunately she screamed
no bar hopping with students
do you need any stats or clues flosey? i have actually finished :))
oh, i assumed college kids, guess you mean high schoolers?
have 91 to go, but thanks, I'll just putter through here, not worry about finishing
ar5?
no just monkeyed it
I find, if I go away from it, come back and it there, right before my eyes!
scary to think what can happen in a strange country with a very different culture... a member of our tour group had a similar experience with a local in the ukraine...
wow, really have to be alert - but especially when travelling with students
it does help to move on, rather than get stuck on one word when there are so many others to find. taking 5 minutes also brings out the fishies ;)
one night hubby, a nun and a police officer had to go out searching for a girl - she had met up with someone from her home country, found them in a bar
this was a university student tour - i htink she was preyed upon because she could not remain to give testimony (she was raped)
oh dear, how horrible
...irrevernce here - sounds like the start of a joke... a poiceman, a nun, and my husband walked into a bar...
what a terrible memory for such a wonderful trip
lol
it was very traumatic to say the least... but to lighter subjects !
one spoke Spanish, one French and, of course, hubby who speaks only English
and a smattering of German
He took German because it was the easiest language to learn (needed to get into U)
i don't have a word of spanish or portuguese... remnants of german from the late 60's when i lived there, and of course, "cereal box" french ;)
hope we're not tying up the chat - in case someone is looking for clues
i agree, if you are an english speaker german is the closest to our own language... though i read somewhere that there is a much more uncommon language that is closer...
i think all the lurkerz are AWOL atm.... everyone is out and about "doing important thing" ;)
oh, there is something more important?
clues - get your clues here! stats - we got 'em! step right up, don't be shy!!!!
ha ha ha
there is nothing more important than babble.....
ca5/12? first one
how do you measure your diamond?
ty ty
ywyw ;)
i didn't see that one for the longest time... i had listed efore i got it!
I'm listing now, need second ca6 and 7,
hmmmm i keep missing my b's. *lazy typist*
you do it to wool
I think that's the first one diane, but thanks
sounds like the start of medicalese for heart and greek it up for the pl
immediately after those
okay.... saw an earlier ca 6 ... sorry
same beginning.... think of "arrest" of the heart
flosey, to do with the heart, often begins with 'tachy'
without the "c" on the end
welcome back diane :)
hi saan :)
that did it, thanks Diane
hi Kate ...quite a few Canadian flags in the chat at the moment.
and Saanich, thanks
hello Kate!
and hello flosey!
I just watched a bit of the Bluejay's game... they are wearing their Canada day red jerseys.... they look might spiffy !
we're all on a long weekend, so i guess have more time to babble wooooot!
first st 5/12?
WTG Bluejays
and winning 8 - 2 :-)
sounds like the second st 5/12
are you having a "special" day, flosey ? I hope so!
yes Diane, it is also my BD
oh, i'm not watching... are they still playing the red sox? i wass so caught up with the hockey, i haven't switched gears to baseball yet... usually wait until the all star break.
That is what I meant :-)
oh, you remember, thank you
They are playing the Tigers today...I think it might be a double header.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DE7/32 FLOSEY!!!! many happy returns!
thank you Kate
may the jays win in your honour :)
and how sweet
indeed, I too am wearing my red Canada Day shirt - flag emblem on back
ya, taht's me... all sweetness and light lololol
Well flosey, I saw it in FB and as much as FB is put down by some, I do like that feature!! Happy Birthday in here also :-)
<---- lounging about in pj's cum casual wear... blaming it on the rain ;)
thanks Diane, so you saw the roses son Gord sent
Allison (daughter) called quite early this morning - we had lots of giggles
I just received the most beautiful gift from China... we took care of the neighbor's yard when they went to China to bring home a wee orphan girl. It is a miniature lacquered , hand painted ,folding screen as in room divider! It is so beautiful and I will post a picture or two on Facebook.
sounds beautiful diane!
wow, how lovely Diane - what a beautiful gift - will look for it - or, you might add it to your pics here in your babble bio
The Great Panda is the theme and it is painted on both sides of 6 hinged panels.
yes... I could add it to Flikr photos. Flsey, I am not seeing a picture of your roses :-(
*flosey*
that was in a FB message from my son, Diane
okay
<---- adores pandas - did you know the toronto zoo got a pair from china recently? on loan for 10 years - 5 here and 5 in calgary@!
thanks for that st clue.. no wonder i couldn t figure it lout-- i already had it.. daughter is here as is distracting me... she forgot the penalty for such an infraction
no, didn't know, last time I was at Toronto Zoo, was when Gord was in grade 7 or 8 - he'll be 50 this year (whew, that's hard to believe)
pandas ELEPHANTS!
hi sammysmom and hurshy :) they just arrived a short itme ago official viewing was 2 weeks ago.
heffalumps? are they your favourite hurshy?
it's amazing how quickly time flies - and isn't it strange how time "speeds up as we age?
It certainly does, Kate !!
i read quite an interesting article about ages ago, but won't bore you with the minutae of it....
hello all...
hi pen :)
yes i <3 elephants - watched a mr. rogers with them today! with a baby one! so cute!
free clue - st 4/8 : suck a milkshake part way through this
oh, so cute when they are babies! big big eyes and lovely lashes :)
i went to see two retired circus elephants last week....very cool...elephants living in Maine....
hopeelephants.org...
it has gotten cool enough to use the oven. got some chicken breasts for 4.37/kg (2.09/lb.)! bbs gotta get my hands full of chicken gook
Back again.
hi hego...
hi penq
Happy Birthday Flosey. Hope you have a good time celebrating yourself. : )
Thanks Molly, having a lovely peaceful day, then bridge tonight (as always on Mondays)
cute icon, Molly
Happy Birthday Flosey!!!
Thanks Hego
does anyone have a clue for re6/33 and following 7/48?
hain't got there yet
mr neither.
me, even
i feel that the C's are Too Hard
haven't tackled those either.
c's and re's give me a headache.
re6.33, something given to someone for doing good.
happy birthday, Flosey!
cool, ty dawg
to sketch again, and pl
ty Kate
hi dawg :) big hugz to you !
still battling chicken, bs
need the last re5 any clues? Hi Kate!
and hi everyone!
battling chicken??
sounds like an easy win. lol
unless it's a really big bird! lol
lol
let's see, is it to put seeds in a field again, dawg?
found it. to get married again.
i'm loving all these free re's.
ahhhh thanks!
why can't you rewoo someone? i mean there are people who get divorced and then marry the same person over again, so they must rewoo them.
only way.
we must get spritey to add it to her list of "outa be words"
Maybe because if you have wooed once and failed, to woo again is for naught.
but what about what i just described, molls?
I've been rewooed.
agree with hurshy - just cause marriage busted up, doesn't mean initial wooing wasn't successful... successive wooing to regain the lady love would be a rewooing... but perhaps hyphenated?
and there's hego with the voice of ACTUAL EXPERIENCE!
But Molly is right, it was for naught.
lol, i've been rued ;)
oh
If at first you don't succeed, woo, woo again
lolol
woo, woo, woooootttt!
lmao
woohoo....
:)
corriander, basil, rosemary, garlic, onionpowder, crushed chilis, sage, poultry seasoning, paprika, parsley, fennel, cinnamon, tumeric, nutmeg, the list goes on and on... but can i find my jerk seasoning???? NOOOOOOO! harrumph!
mix all those together.
just get on the highway - plenty of jerks there.
no one will know the difference.
So true Hursh.
tadone!! finito!!
Hello all -- just had a call from flosey. Their power went out right after she asked for a clue to re6, and it won't be back until about 5:30 grid time. She didn't want you all to think she was just being rude!
Jilli!!
i'm off home, see you from there most likely
bye hurshy.
We didn't think that.
Hi Jilly! who could ever think Flosey to be rude? thanks for letting us know tho.
Bye Hursh.
safe travels, Hursh
LOL hurshy!!! congraatulations dawg!!!!
hi hego -- good to see you. I haven't been babbling during the day lately -- busy doing other stuff but am here at fliptime usually.
bye hurshy :)
That's 1 AM to me Jill.
But I do see you on FB.
I agree, lbd -- flosey isn't the rude type at all :-)
LOL....woot is not a word....
WTG!! Dawg!!
hello hego, TK, dawg
Hi Other Jill. :)
hi jilly :)
5:30 pm grid time isn't 1 am to you, Hego, unless you're in a very different place from NJ!
Hi JJ sis.
Isn't flip at midnight?
Hello sis, happy Canada day!
D's down!!
Oh, I see -- you were referring to my being here at fliptime, not the time flosey's power will supposedly be back.
crossy is back for more:))
Love Jilli's bus. Very cool.
think she was meaning the flip time jill...east coaster...
Thanks, JJ :-)
YAY! Crossy!!
good "RE" morning crossy :)
hehe,a re-morning would be a nice thing
right Jilli
Just got a mosquito bite on a knuckle -- leaving for some AfterBite and then back to other things. TTFN!
hey babblers
howdy,pippin
holy 286. i was thinking of trying the grid but that's a bit much for me
raining up your way? it started here as soon as you went for a power nap...
Hey Pippin!
bye sis!
happy canada day crossy
nope,overcast however
tata Jill
ty,jilly
hi pip :) it's not a bad grid at all. not a lot of strange ones
Jilli and Jilly! had to do a double take and get the brain to connect.
hi crossy and hego and kate
the rain is certainly in attendance down here
hi pippin and crossy
howdy lbd
rain, rain, go away... come again another day!
i'm home from work so it's not gonna bother me
puts a bit of a damper on our fireworks tonight... they weren't calling for it as of last night... now they say possible thunder storms/showers too :((((
is it canada day?
and the friendship festival is going to be pretty much a wash-out for today
yes, it is canada's 146th birthday today :)
it is indeed,pippin
well happy canada day to you!
ty,ty
thank you pip :D
nature's fireworks, Kate. and happy Canada day to all our Canadian folks.
bonne fete aux canadiens et canadiennes!
Oh look, hiding Wooter showed up. Woot woot!
ty,lbd:)
merci,penquis
de rien, crossie...
:)
okay, enough procrastinating; must go through all the emails I have received while we were gone fo r3 days. bbl
And now Wooter is gone again. Whoosh!
Oh, that wooter!
She is apparently very popular and must respond to her fans. : D
thanks ddawg. i am also trying to delete thousands of e-mails....facebook spam... i'm drowning in them!
I do that twice a day.
Thousands of emails? No spam filter?
i do that once a day.thanfully gmail seperates them for me for regular email
from
me too, but I occasionally check the spam file cuz somethings slip thru
i also generally us my outllok for just or when a addy must be provided to use a site then i save gmail for my real life stuff
thank heaven for thes in this thing.
the s
if i go onto fb and try to find my way around, i could turn off some of the "notifications" which would help immeasurably...but not having lots of time when on-line, it tend to pput it off in favour of a bit more babbling time - which i'm sure you all understand...
of course we do.fb settings is a nightmare of hundreds of teeny tiny boxes to check and uncheck, and that is how they like it
their product is people and information and they want as much of us to sell as possible
I'm not on Facebook much. From what I've heard, the more time you spend there, the more junk mail you get. Especially if you have a lot of Facebook sites "liked" or that you play games on.
fb definatly has it's issues
just found the dw5.fish me
DONE!
I also had fish on that one Crossy.
yaaa for hego!!
yay for hego
ty friends.
congrats, hego!
mmm.wanted to check on my brother in vegas today.i heard it got to 117f;(
and I must leave you now. Stove is calling. lol
tc,hego
Poof!
fa 6/30= latin poop
whooo hoooo HEGO!! hagd
my chair is calling me...hagd everyone, may be back later this evening.
tc,lbd
hello again dear friends.
That's British poop. Or poo, as they call it.
a poop by any other name is still crap:)
Hello again, dear Trif.
wb,trif
me too hello again
did a TON of weeding today, feel a lot better about my yard. yeah
wb,hurshy
Weedless In New England
sounds like a movie
unless you need the OTHER kind of weed, molly - that you can get here :)
or a really weird double entendre
with a doctors note, of course
about someone in new england who lost their stash
Oh of course *cough* with a *cough* doctor's note *cough*
it is pretty ridiculous NOT to allow medical use - i mean it's got much fewer side effects than other meds for similar purposes and works better...
not that I would know a thing about it. seriously. That particular form of recreation was just never my thing. but I don't judge.
i know about it from reading bioethics stuff.
agreed,hurshy
some of the chemicals they make in labs for our maladies are much more toxic
Done with emails....now to babble for awhile!
welcome jilly!
wb jilly:)
Herbal medicine, and that is herbal medicine, is many times better than chemical medicine.
agreed again
Wooter is back. Woot!
my new favorite medicine however is chemical - topamax.
Im not sure, molly. i Have been having a persistent medical problem all year, and the herbal remedies just aren't helping. I pretty much have to go with traditional meds, and it's really bumming me out.
*takes bow* hello miss molly
don't be too bummed trif - try to be glad we have the options.
Are you buying stuff in the store, or consulting an herbalist?
consulting an herbalist
just found fr 5/16 and 6/27= fr+ poetic before
thanks crossy!
Yes, Jacques.
if you can get ahold of some, try a alder bark infusion for migraines
tastes like crap though
crossy is that to take daily as a preventative, or to take when they happen to make them go away?
as it happens.in the early stages
i'll look into it - the topamax is good but the thing they gave me for when it happens doesn't seem to be working that well.
most chemical migraine meds i have gotten for the mrs work to some level or another but the side effects are nasty
and now the phone calls begin...brb
The email popularity is over. Now the phone popularity begins. : D
what i love about topamax is that not only has it decreased migraine frequency but it is totally helping my insomnia, just when i had given up on anything ever fixing that.
begins?? i think everyone 25 and under has them surgically fused to the side of their heads
as as for my own insomnia.i am now used to 2 hours at night and a hour and a half cat nap in the day
actually was surprised last night.,was almost 3 hours
No, I meant those in search of Wooter.
this grid is a tough for a biggie. 167 words in, but have only greyed 4 tiles.
i wonder if any stores would have it, or if i would have to get alder bark infusion online
not sure, hurshy.will have to goolge it locally.found ours in a homopathic/health store
That makes sense. Topomax is also used to treat anxiety.
hi all back to get half way. ugh
you shave it and use a tea ball or other straining device and steep it in hot water
for all those canucks of "a certain age".. and for those who aren't - a quick preface. it was 1967 - expo '67 was on, and canada was hosting the world at a hugely successful world fair.... ww II was a generation in the rearview mirror, and optimism abounded ( as the vietnam protests had not gottten into high gear yet). we were young! we were 100 yrs. old, and we wanted to celebrate. FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT READ PIERRE BERTON'S BOOK "1967 - THE LAST GOOD YEAR" please make it a point to do so, it is a small book in comparison to his normal tomes.. and it helps to put things into perspective...and bring back some wonderful memories...i was 6/7 years old at the time, and about to move to germany, but one of my strongest memories is of singing this song at the top of my lungs.... "It was 1967 that he wrote Ca-na-da, which quickly became the most popular song of Canada's centennial celebrations....Over the next few years, Ca-na-da sold half a million copies. There were some 50 different recordings of the song, and some 250 school choirs and bands recorded it. In 1971, Gimby presented the original manuscript and all future royalties to the Boy Scouts of Canada." -- Alex Barris and Ted Barris, authors of 'Making Music - Profiles from a Century of Canadian Music.' http://tinyurl.com/knktvvm i am searching for a "full screen" view of it now.. enjoy!
i remember wanting to go to expo 67 but had no money. had to work. was in college.
our public outdoor pool(the old one,new one is being built) is called centennial pool and was built in 67 was a year of pride and growth
i shoulda been my grandma's generation...
i remember going to Expo 67 with my younger brother...we took a bus from Maine and my uncle in montreal met us at the station....great adventure....
Okay, well now we're all filled in.
i should have been my parents generation.
lol,sorry we bored you,molly;P
are there words with ie endings? dotn have any
http://tinyurl.com/poq7pjz and one more - one minute long canadians will be familliar with JOE and "the rant" which is actually a beer commercial that was wildly popular
interesting that a grid of this size has no words >7 letters...
I don't have any yet mkg, only have 98 found
That's okay. I will save you all from the endless tidbits about American history on Thursday. : D
ahh yes, joe, the I AM CANADIAN guy
almost half way. three to go.
i promise nothing but amrican tidbits on thurday if you just endure today
my official position on the fourth of july is this: "as a loyalist, i cannot support the fourth of july. but as a lazy pragmatist, i will take a day off work for any reason."
Yes, there are ie endings.
only 2 molly... and as canadians, most of us know quite a bit of american history, but many americans are blithely ignorant of ours.. or anywhere else in the world for that matter... not trying to start an argument, just saying...
Well Hursh, you are a wanna be Brit. I can see why you would not recognize Independence Day.
hey cross, have you read about what the israeli's have invented for cancer tumors? amazing stuff. my grandson is going to have one procedure soon. they came up with three ways to get tumors to die without doing surgery:
zackly
ha! just found the pirate roberts....
one way is freezing the tumor and it dies.
LOL @ hurshy! tee hee
one way is heat and it dies
Not blithely ignorant. Had Canadian history, trivia and tidbits drilled into my head by my husband.
third way is with some kind of lazer beams. you go into a scanner like a cat scan and you feel nothing but the beams go to your body and kill the tumor. amazing stuff.
sorry cross that this is disjointed. i kept pushing enter to get to a new line.
cross are you here?
<-----also a wanna-be-brit. :) and a proud (but usually quiet about it) canuck!
Mkg...SHIFT + ENTER to get to a new line
i am here,it sounds interesting to be sure, mkg
do you have a link for info on this new procedure?
ty molly. no links but i think you tube has info.
i was there too pen, perhaps we met? ;)
the heat is called something with an a. like adm?? gee sorry. must get info.
perhaps, kate....but i was 17...my cousins took us every day...knew all the ins and outs...
cross go to my grandsons website: caringbridge.org and enter Zakkai in search. look at last three or four entries in june. i think he speaks of it.
ablation! that is the heat thing. they will try that first.
these are very very new experimental things. but my grandson is so sick that they will try anything.
dinner time for this happy babbler. see you later, i hope, and happy babbling all
well got half way. whew.
see you later tri
cu6 like head of hospital on house
I love it when people call her Tri. It sounds funny. : D
bye trif :)
cu six? i dont get it. cu head of hosp..........not understanding it.
best wishes for tour grandson, mkg, and i hope this treatment works well for him
if you haven't watched house, you wouldn't get it.
Happy Canadian Day!
ty,zooz:))
cu + shallow water in the ki---- pool
free syrup for everyone!
i didn't get it either... but i loved "house", nad get it now! good clue hurshy!
i have seen it. but i remember the crippled doc only. what a silly show. husband is a doc and he says what crap it is.
now i got it molly. and has ie ending!
hi zooz :) and ty very much !
Not everything on House was crap.
is is a GOOD show, even if not realistic.
realism is not the only point of things.
i know the show is crap from stem to stern but still entertaining
very unrealistic, but highly entertaining....ives hugh lawrey :)
Not unrealistic either. Lots of genuine medical conditions were depicted on House.
isn't tv supposed to be a little bit about escapism from the mundane ?
"i will take vicoin and run bleach through this child to cure him!" hehe
was good fun.had to toss the cable though
it was really more a bioethics show than a medical show
real medicine, unreal situations re: gregory house - never would have kept his job in real life... but isn't that the point? i adored the show, rarely ever missed it!
no too ridiculous to even enjoy. sorry. i dont do well with this stuff or harry potter or the hobbit stuff either. not into make believe except for videos like toy story where it is obviously not real at all, or monsters inc and stuff like that. then i enjoy it. i think the fantastics was also wonderful.
i enjoyed it as well kate
you intensified the situations in order to focus in on hard ethical issues
sorry but cant enjoy it because for a kid maybe 10 to 15 it would seem real and then i have issues with him as a roll model.
no one believes in toy story.
time to go for dinner.
we all have our own likes/dislikes mkg, no need to sound apologetic... you are entitled to be you - especially on babble!
ty for all clues.
i do not dissect shows that much ,mkg.i take most of them at their face enjoyment/entertainment value
hope you will be back later to finish mkg!
suspended disbelief... isn't that what it's called?
Wow, I guess with that mindset, nothing is enjoyable.
for example in the ten commandments,if you watch for it,you will catch an actor who forgot to take off their wristwatch :)
the sw 6/45 is one weird word
but i just enjoy good shows and leave reality on the shelf
if we cant escape the real world with tv i would be in a sorry state
yeah just did that one too bichon
i went to see ***n lake with the indian ***ah!
Yes Ivesy. And movies too. It's all about imagination.
Did anyone here ever watch "My So Called Life" with Claire Danes, I was so ripped when it got cancelled
bichon came back! :)
and yes i do use it as an escape. sometimes a person just has to take the show and realize it isnt real life.thats y its on tv lol. if the reality shows are real.
yes
i watched my so called life
now i stream all my fav movies and leave the reality shows/honey boo-boo/dna roullete talk shows behind
hi ivesy :)
I've been here on and off today. Had lots to deal with
it's on my list of shows that shouldn't have got cancelled along with freaks & geeks, and sports night
i watch a show called the goodwin games, its silly, funny and its makes me laff out loud. i dont do reality shows.. hate them
Good job we don't ALL like ALL tv programmes or there'd be no time to babble.... terrible thought :0
I guess if you're not into make believe then reality shows and the news is all there is.
Happy Canadian day
Why isn't stadia word. Pl of stadium?
ty,chrissie
what i can't stand is ACTUAL "reality show", makes me think we have descended into the last days of rome... pain, humiliation, laughter at the expense of another is abhorrent to me... though i know they are enjoyed by so many, i don't understand it... screw everyone else and you win....
it is bichon it just isn't in the grid today.
It is a word, but you would have to use the A twice.
i agree,kate
stadia is probably only really greek? while stadium has passed fully into englidsh?
but honey boo boo!! omg.. who came up with that. they have to have subtitles to show what they are saying.
and wathing the dna lottery on murray pouvich(sp) was agony.wathcing some woman/guy wade through 20 possibles in hope of a hit.bah!
yes! what language does that family speak?
Reality TV is for those who enjoy watching the misfortune of others. Sad.
Quick hi and bye everyone .... enjoy your evenings ( or days, as the case may be) :)
Drive by
hi
are these related?....ad6,30 ad7,44
plural pen
yes
ty
my life could be a reality show... lol, well mb a horror show lol
I was thinking about making my life a podcast.
My life's so boring it would be a good reality show for insomniacs
actually i know many people who are going thru much worse.. so i shouldnt complain
Ivesy, don't ever watch the Addiction show on The Discovery channel. It's like watching your nightmares on TV.
i know molly.. i have watched intervention..cant stand it... and those celeb. rehab.. i would like to shoot them
<----still doesn't know who the kardashians are....
Lucky you, TK.
lollol.. me either kate.. but didnt one name their kid north west
She did. Kanya West is the dad.
I don't know how you can miss the Kardashians on the internet.
i did ask before, but no one said who they were... stoopid name, guess they don't really love their kids naming them like that... who do they think they are... the hiltons???? (another stoopid name btw
crossy also does not know the kardassians(and does not want to i think)
me either kate.isn't she pregnant or had the baby.i've seen snippets on yahoo news but i don't take any notice of reality tv...it's a load of bull and people thinking they are celebrities...why? what have they done to be one? and hi all
we should form a club... the anti-kardashians - don't know and care less club ;)
we have big brother, geordie shore, made in chelsea, or something like that and one with essex people...i'd prefer to poke my eyes with pins than watch any of them
same here...
hi liliann :) i think the latest is that she is due about the same time as kate middleton er - the duchess of cambridge, sorry
Oh my God, I have seen commercials for that Essex show. Gag.
Kardashian already had her baby.
and she'll probably get more press than kate TK
Oh I doubt that L. A lot of American people salivate over the British royals.
i've just read ivesy's post. North West?? what is that about? why do celebrities give their children such god awful embarassing names?
fathers last name is west... so they named the kid north... isnt there a country where u have to have persmission to name your child?
<-----adores the queen, and is eternally grateful that she is still with us.... god save the queeen!
crossy loved the queen mum.she was the peoples queen.seems she would drive security bonkers when she would sneak out to the nearest pub at night for a quiet pint
in quebec, there is an acceptable list of baby names (goes back to the dark ages...) you can't name your baby anything not on the list (officially) very archaeic
i think the british revere the leaders of their country. its nice.
i'm looking forward to Kate and William having their baby but i won't be gushing about it.i like them as a couple and he is very much like his mam, but i like Harry too as he just gets on with his life and has fun.
i agree liliann.. seem like very nice young men
harry's allowed to have more fun.... he' s the spare ;)
lol@ the spare
one hting's for sure, it's going to be a very good-looking kid....
here, after Princess Di died, alot of people hated the royalty, especially the Queen because of the way she handled it. i don't think she realized how much Di was liked/loved by alot of the nation.that's why i like Kate because she is one of us and no title
at least charles can relax..would not have been able to fit his ears on our coinage anyways...
really Tk? about the baby name list
well, i think im too tired to finish this grid. its a very pleasant 65 degees here, so going to throw open all the windows and air out the place.. hagd, or nite where u shall be..
You're right Ivesy. We Americans quit revering royalty 237 years ago. : )
tc,ivesy
kate was "upper middlecalss" but now she has a title too. and i don't want to open a can of worms, but... the royal standard does not fly if the monarch is not in residence.... i think the papers were responsible for stirring the pot quite a bit on that one.... get the circulation up to the sky...
bye ivesy and tc
liliann - yes... though i don't think it will be around much longer - based in the r.c. church of 200 years ago, and a part of their heritage, which they are loathe to give up. hence it has survived to this day as an anachronism
good nite ivesy :)
crossy is being naughty and irreverent ;) if the prince heard you say that.....
:P to charles
he still owes the family 5 quid;)
kate however is adorable.i just hope the paparazzi do not grind her down
did they pay rou to emmigrate crossy? lol
it wasn't just about that TK.it was about alot of things and i don't think Charles should be King, i think William should be.
lol,they paid us to go
Three cheers for naughty and irreverent.
so,in 1966,we left
think kate is wonderful... of course (she shares my name, and all kates are wonderful - look at smores...)
but, saying that my uk passport is one handy bit of paper!
reminds me,i must renew it
only take 2 weeks!
L is my proof that all British women are not stuffy, prim and proper. : D
hey everyone.. I've been lurking.. can anyone clue AR 6/21?
if you throw out primogeniture, then where are you lil? the rules must be followed, otherwise you have anarchy... and you're back to the king'smen and the roundheads. inheritance of the crown is pretty much set in stone. if you let personalities enter into it, all you have is a popularity contest - and the winner may be the one with the most money to throw around... let history warn you of what hath transpired befoe...
a _person on horseback
hi buxx... no - go away, we are having a serious discussion... lololol. YES!
a + person on horseback
lol.no more coffee for kate:)
hahaha!
what bea said... please don't take me seriously....
thanks for the clue
Seriously
now u guys can go back to your debate!
And she's not even in the coffee shop
kate is having a glass of wine on an empty stomach... chicken is ready, must make some veg and taters... then dine! any more clues buxx? you re certainly welcome...
aww, thanks molly, i'll take that as a compliment :)
I'm down to the last 9..
no more clues for me.. i'm gonna tough it out for a few more minutes..
but does anyone need clues while i'm still here?
just got a craving for some tequilia.some real nasty stuff.kind with the worm in the bottome.agave worm i think.salt, limes and away we go
Wow kate, if that's on one glass of wine it't an impressive argument :)
*Cough* People always say "one glass" *Cough*
crossy has a beer stein that holds 3 beers, for that one drink:)
@ crossy -wheeee !!! sorry chrissie - i'm down off my soap box now... hope i didn't offend anyone... just a monarchist through and through
The wine bottle is a glass///
i think you need another one TK.believe me, i don't think there would be anarchy now if Charles was never on teh throne. half the country today don't give a stuff anyway.there are probably more people abroad that think more of our royalty!!
is molly accusing MOI of being an alkie??? inquiring minds want to know ;)
no offence.found it rather interesting
oh yes, have seen wine glasses that hold a full bottle
happy Canada Day.
ty,mixi
hahaha @ bea ;)
You're right L. Infatuation with monarchy is kind of passe.
Certainly not offended kate
Someone made a bra that holds a bottle of wine, then a straw a women can suck it from....
Raining again...
And you know because Jilly..... .?
now there is something handy.holds your wine and gives you that added support
wonder what will flood today.
It has been crazy, huh, mixi?
Saw it posted on FB chrissiedee....
Wooter puts gin in hers.
no offence taken TK :)
now there is a better idea..a 36 dd with 40% alc/vol
realyy jill, i want one of them :)
I'm not in a flood zone. but there's lots of water. probably in my mailbox too. (gets spa shed by passing traffic). lol
ahh.. fireworks!
i understand the polling numbers lil, but if you polled people who were at least 3rd generation british you would get very different results.. and oi think the press had a great deal to do with it... we are all in cultures in change. allownaces must be made.. the results would be the same here...if the same poll was
*splashed
last word was to 6/33
way to go lbuxx
We had three inches in about an hour this morning.
please come to**** me.. (closer)
clues before i run anyone?
hi mixi :) raining here too :(
where are you be a ?
Nearly 100 here...
Up north, near VA.
cjongratulations buxx!!!!
wtg lbu! :)
I'm in chapel hill.
a fine 70f here.you guys have to move
(sending rain to Arizona).
crossy's having an open house ;)
OH crossy, if only canada would take a 55 year old woman....
thanks, mixi/.... sure mimicat will appreciate it...
*Opens bottle number two for Kate and puts on "The Tudors" *
*Takes away Wooter's American flag*
jilly - thye will, especially if you come under "enteurpraneurial class"
TK, half the people here don't do polls anymore and i actually like having th royalty
just say you are opening a book shop when you come over and find a relative, any relative that is already here
st7/40?
hello again. I am just popping in and out today!
Hmm, just a lowly RN
wb,trif
thanks for the vino molls *hic* jilly can come any time she wants... provided she watches the introduction to canada videos i posted earlier ;) heck, even if she doesn't!!!
Ooooo, I have like about 4 of them in the Toronto area
a nickname for a "hot guy" ?
We will get a room for Wooter in Celine's house.
actually ebing an experienced RN would get you in much easier that other things
st 7/40
rn's are in demand here jilly, you might want to look into it :)
we love our nurse and the brain drain 20 years ago hurt and we are still recovering
ST7/40 builds off of the st4 before it.. ends in what you do at the end of your life..
trying again.. st 7/40 - nickname for a "hot guy"
Hmm, and I do have a speciality, be that what it is...
Happy Canada Day Jilly! Enjoy your new country!
lol,if we can toss you in a hospital setting and just set you loose,it is enough
our eye dr JUST retired is 70.many work well past normal retirement in the med field
jilly wants to come to canada, and i want to go to the uk... all we need is a brit that wants to go to "america" and we are set - just do a switcherooo ;)
what is your speciality jilly?
That would make it even steven....LOL
ah, but crossy.. if your work doesn't knock the stuffing out of you every day, and you can set your own hours, and vacation time... why would you retire?
Calling all disloyal Brits. We need one of you for bartering.
;D
this is true, kate.he finally retired to travel more
well, I finally went and listed.
and because he worked so much longer, he is travelling first class on 6 month cruises to fiji !
*wonders if the health field in Canada would make for a better work environment where nurses are pushed to the max*
hi trif :) congratulations on listing!!!! wooot!!!!! LOL
my sis in law enjoys it,jilly
i want to live in jamaica :)
I would love to continue to work well into my 60s', but 12 hour shifts don't do well with me...
when she was younger she did trauma/tiage for 15 years, then they put her in the clinic to relax and give kids immunization shots after she burnt out
triage
she makes more money and works an 8 hour day now
Sort of where I am at, part time, 6 hours/day M-F
well, they do small day surgeries ther as well
there are some wonderful models of care being developed here jilly. community medicine... a few doctors, a fes nurse practitioners (can prescribe wuite a bit) rn's, a psychiatrist, a social counsellor, and a few specilaist to handle diabetes or other highly prevalent issues in the community... and a whole cadre of community health co-ordinators that develp programs and interface with many in the public needing help from anything from addiction to homelessness
Okay, only 84 left. We are heading out to walk to Sushi restaurant...we will chat more later crossy
i would love to travel around the US,Canada,Australia and New Zealand, but i think i f i ever left here it would be for Australia or NewZealand
yes,i forgot about our amazing nurse/practitioners
enjoy your sushi jill :)
enjoy,jilly
bye jilly :) when you cjoming to the land of the maple leaf ?
hi all!
would love to see the land of the kiwi.... and of course, oz!
hi sue :)
but my number 1 is still Jamaica TK :)
Me, I'm proud of my country. I would never relocate anywhere.
a's accomplished
that's good for you Molly, but it isn't just about be proud., it's about jobs and other things.my mam and dad were proud of our country but they have a better way of life in France
yay trif!
go trif!
you may wish to look before you leap liliann... the economy relies a great deal on tourism, violent crime is very high there... tourists are encouraged to stay within the confines of their walled estates.. and i don't have to mention drug issues if i had to pick somewhere south, it would be bermuda hands down for me... but of course, it is still very british...
46 left and getting slower
honestly, sometimes using the list makes me feel such a fool. Those words have been sitting there all day, and I just. didn't. see. them.
haha, trif, same with me!!
me too
list = fishing pole :)
go liliann go!!! you can do it! hi agian peri :)
hey kate, hi all, 49 left here
first re 6/33?
peri and liliannn are neck and neck ;)
would have had more done but I was being peri the plumber earlier today.
sketch again?
and a fine job you did peri!!! how much did you charge yourself? hope you enjoyed your drinkie!
i've been to Jamaica twice and i know that being a toursit is different from living somewhere but we also went out of our hotels and travelled through, basically shanty towns. the jamaican people on the whole are hard working, family orientated people and i know this because i've worked with alot of them here in England.i've also been to Bermuda and loved it there too.it's never going to happen anyway TK, it's just a pipe dream
thanks kate
I did enjoy my G&T
hi peri and smom
ty TK
yw :)
And fireworks for me.
never been to bermuda, but instinctively know i would adore it... just like i knew i would fall in love with england the minute i stepped foot on it... and i did!
zooz!!! you've been lurking on us :(
yay zooz!
Time for my bed..goodnight, All.
I want to go to Hawaii and Australia
good night zooz, and congratulations on your fireworks!!!
No no..just wanted to get the grid done...was watching your debates..lol
night, zooz!
we also went to nine mile tk, where Bob marley lived and that is the only place that it is legal to smoke pot, not that we did, as it's not for us and the police were burning some of the fields on the way up there as they were growing weed
*poof*
I would like to visit Australia and New Zealand, also the Caribbean
Dammit, I was going to throw pom poms for Zoom.
yay!wtg zooz!! night hin, sweet dreams and tc
after retirement, my grandmother used to cruise on ocean freighters and spend the remainder of the winteri n "havvii" before returning to canada in late spring...
i would love to visit Hawaii aswell peri
Wow, your grandmother must be rich.
we should ring up herinfernallady, and tell her taht she's hosting a babble meet up... then never leA
as long as it didn't hit him in the eye molly :)
I was thinking the same thing, Molly
leave
my nan and grandad use to do cruises aswell tk and then when my grandad died, she would go with her friends and travelled all over.mostly europe though
ocean freighters... not expensive like normal cruises- which she would have abhored... but you need to ook them years in advvnace... she worked hard all her life and saved her money.. inherited from her parents as well. she sived a frugal life in order to follow her dreams later in life.
More rich granparents
well, good for her, kate!
I need to live more frugally since I want to travel before I am too old to care
Me too Peri, but I'm at a loss as to how to get more frugal than I already am. : (
c's conquered, AT LAST
go trif!
I am pretty careful with my money. I treated myself to 3 shirts recently and paid full price for them cause I liked them and wanted them. I usally shop at TJ Maxx and Marshalls and Target and of course thrift stores, consignment stores, yard sales etc
I always check the clearance racks wherever I go
my grandparents weren't rich.they worked bloody hard for their money.my nan would scrub floors and clean for people, not now as we do with a mop!my grandad fought for this country and then worked hard all his life, he retired at 65 and died when he was 69. my nan just knew how to save the money and they didn't live a rich life!!.obviously the prices of things now to then are different but they didn't get paid much then either
we are always frugal.when the son was young our furniture was nothing but cast offs, donation, what other put to the curb.for 20 years.now e can reap the divedends and plan a trip
*Backs slowly out of chat*
she earned every dime of her money - she worked from the age of 20- for her whole life, and raised 3 kids too... she was lucky enough to get a good job after the depression (during prohibition) and refused to give it up... she was a trail blazer and a great hero of mine.....of course she inherited, she was an only (and adopted ) child... but my great granparents gave a great deal away for causes they believed in
90% of our furniture is still cast offs and flea market leftovers, but piece by piece we can now change that
the ireland trip was not a sudden whip of the wealthy but a 20 year plan with every dime hoarded
whim
Hi everyone, our power just returned, must have been an accident, power lines were down, just in our area
yaaa,wb flosey
i still shop the sally ann and pick up things tossed to the curb. buteven when i was working for the railway, i was very careful with my money... doesn't matter what you make - it's what you keep... and i guess having so many depression-era people affecting my life it all sunk in... "use it up. wear it out, make it do... or do without"
welcome back flosey :) we're ready to clue to get you back on track...
yup , that's the way we were raised too Kate
quite true,my tv stand is still a broken stereo cabinet with the doors missing for the last decade
thanks, am rushing - early supper and out by 6:30 to play bridge
<----way "too old" for my age, but don't care!
so, you have 2 hours before lift - off flo?
yes, rush rfush
and the tv is a 40 dollar special bought from a motel closing it's doors..8 years ago
rush
just realized i'm missing "time team" :(
i'm the same way as you tk and my bairn now goes to all charity shops as she says she's giving her pocket money to worthy causes and she can get me cheap elephants and cats for presents :)
hi flosey
hi lilliann
you collect elephants??? wow.must have a big house!!
lol, crossy... intoronto, when my wonderful b & w quasar died i did the same thing... i still have neve had a new tv - or car!
are you still going to Ireland crossy?
how do you litter box train them??
haha :)
rofl crossy!!!
yes, lillian, but our lawyer is meanering through the final bits of paperwork, and if things do not close by end of august at the latest,it will have to be pushed to next year:(
meandering
flo - the west wing is on in about 30 minutes here - i will be "fading in and out" for that hour. shall we start firing clues at you?
we are using rail/sail ticket from london to the ferry across the irish sea and it only runs to end sept
what is the legal stuff for crossy? i have missed that "thread" of your life...
so that will make or break the trip for this year
a small inheritance, kate.my beloeds mum passed this sept just past
beloveds
that's a shame crossy, i hope it is this year.the bairn wants me to take her to Ireland as her dad is there alot at the moment with his job.i'd like to go but it's how to get there, especially for me and money wise.my hubby loves it there and says it is a beautiful country
oh, crossy! i'm so sorry. i didn't mean to be insensetive... you and mrs. crossy have my deepest, albeit, belated sympathies.
np at all kate
{{{{crossy }}}}
we have the grandest trip set up lillian, but those rail/sail tickets are critical and canot be bypassed
i didn't know that either crossy, so condolencs
oh beggar!!
ty,lillian.was a blessing.she suffered last 2 years.the cigarrettes did her lungs in
condolensces sent to your beloved and you.so has it gone to probate?
same as her husband 2 years before.ciggarettes
i hope no payments were made and you can merely postpone until next year.... i assume you must have the paperwork finished to free up the cash for the trip? ... not a matter of competion via fax etc.?
probate is all done, all bills paid, all taxes done just waiting on the final sign-off papers for each sibling
so i take it you have paid for them alresdy crossy?
please may I have clue for the first di 5?
di and when you go to heaven trif
no,i have all the info with the travvel agent then and only then when i can give travel dates will they finish putting it together
baby talk for a diaper?
travel dates will change the prices
ugh. could have sworn I triedthat one

now i know the tape flosey, but it's white here
ruru!!! hi again :)
kate, earlier you were talking about the elasticity time time and how it changes as we age? i highly reccomend you read Stephen Kings short story called My pretty ponY
it comes inmany colours here, but gray is most common liliann
same in the US...
there is not blood or gore or gouls in this story, just a gentle unveiling of the truth
i will crossy, i have somehow gottenout of the life-long habit of reading every day - and always at bed time... thank the railroad for one more reason to leave... i have his 11/22/63 sitting on my night table... gathering dust. no worries, i love s. king - all genres. do you know what anthology it is in? maybe i read it already?
11/22/63 is an amazing story
actually, it's the same here kate, grey. i was thinking of ...i can't think of what the tape is called. the one you put on carpets and floors wehen you are painting

which st 5 do you need?
ty, kate....
I only kept some child hood one and ones I really like
same with me pen
i don't need any st words...i was just confused because someone had asked about an st word....
i have given alot of books to charity shops as i can't store them all
well, hopefully they got what they needed liliann
i mean pen...

ty ru
thanks, alfred....er...ru....

that's a shame.can't you borrow it longer or rent it cheaply?
no liliann, it must go back from whence it came.
that's a pity
it's been lovely to see you here at this time of night/morning for me :)
oh well, i have tonight, and a bit of breakfast babbling before it goes back... and then i'm just back to using the internet cafe.
it's been a real pleasure for me as well liliann. such a treat to not have to worry about the clock... lots of time to chat along the way :)
ra 7/32?...
ra7 Of The Lost Ark
..... of the lost ark????
aye, i must admit, the chatting makes bable more fun at times, especially with horrible grids :)
duh....thanks!
shame i have that one already molly .i still need 4 more 7's
The clue was for Pen
which ones liliann? do you know?
and it's great to meet people that are totally different to us
surprised to find a scotch brand is a legal word
i know molly, i was just saying it's a shame i already had that one!
agreed lil!
hi joso, everytime i see you, i just want to hug your dog :)
ah ha! there is another canuck in this end of the world! hi joso :)
i have the list up now so i will look kate
maybe not, he needs a bath
but he would love it
what part of canada are you in TK
down in fort erie atm, but a to girl through and through :)
i'd still hug him anyway. we had a golden retriever and he rolled in all sorts and swam in a river near us and would stink the house out bless him
... west end TO always...
but he was great having a shower, even though we couldn't lift him into the bath :)
if in to and want an old computer let me know, pretty clunky but would do babble
how wet did you get giving your dog a shower liliann?
you're on joso! thanks!
when I bathe shadow the whole bathroom needs to be mucked out after. might be why I don't bathe him often enough
np kate, give me a bit of warning and I'll test it before you collect it
ah, take him for a swim in the lake joso!
might be a while before i get up that way.... do you babble daily?
well, it was in the bath and we would manage to get him half way over and he'd do the rest, but when he came out if we didn't cover him very quickly then we (the bairn)and the bathroom would be soaked :)he was such a relaxed dog, that he would love to lie outside and he would lie infront of the gate and when anyone wanted to come in they couldn't as he wouldn't move for anyone, but he didn't bark much. he never barked when he layed in front of the gate as he wanted to sleep :)
but he would have protected us if needed
what lovely memories lil! retrievers and labs are wonderful critters :)
I was going to wash him today, but slept in, and my wife did a massive spring cleaning of the bathroom as I slept. she would rightfully kill me if I washed him now
ti 7/32?....
we all really miss him, even now and it's been about 7 years now
ti7...past tense of crown
wearing a smallish crown?
Here in the very hot Northwest, Murphy is lying on the wooden floors keeping as still and cool as possible. He does not believe in baths, swimming, showers, or any other means of wetness (except drooling when there is really good food about.)
ty molly...
yes TK here most days
ty molly
Hi Gran Mere
ty kate
Hi Molly, lillian, Kate, joso, and penquis, or as we say in Babbleland, "everyone."
*Gives Murphy a Frosty Paws*
she probably would joso, the same as the rest of the female population who clean :)
Hello all. Sweltering here in Ca. too
hi stidgie :) i'm normally only on mon/tues/wed/fri 10-5 ... internet cafe hours... are there others you have noticed from the gta/ niagara?
Hey all. gmere how hot did it get your way? 101 here.
((gmere)), lovely to see you, i don't blame him
I clean, shadow, once a year weather he needs it or not
poor puppy! you must give him some ice cubes or a freezie to eat...
It was 85 degrees as I drove home from town. Right now it is 81 degrees inside and outside (we don't have airconditioning.) I am such a cry baby, please disregard my whine.
We do give Murphy ice cubes and he loves them.
shave him each spring, still spends alot of time in the basement in summer
Oh ugh. We don't have a/c either.
I would be a crybaby too if I didn't have air conditioning.
hi onyx
When I got in the car to do errands, the car said 108.. was glad to go into the various errand places for their a/c!!
hi m9
hi lilli.
hello
murphy has loving parents ;) no a/c here either, the heat/humidity just broke here in the last 24 hours or sio....
hi m9 and onyx :)
Hey Kate
Murphy was sleeping after lunch time and I noticed he had a magazine in his bed. I think he is following his parents in reading and then falling asleep.
hmm.. weather.com said our high was 101. Google says it was 106
weather.com must have a/c
lol gmere.he as it's so hot, he might like a hose down now?
You are right, lilliann, if ever he was to like water, it should be now.
It really depends what part of town you are in too, we rise up off a river
we don't need a/c here in our houses sadly, but i'm happy to have it in the car
http://tinyurl.com/poq7pjz http://tin\nyurl.com/knktvvm
there's something to be said for a more temperate climate lil... aren't you glad you're not melting there?
i like hot weather kate. i'm not good with cold and damp weather
I thought you were having a heat wave out there lil
i have a fan on most of the day because of hot flushes so heat wouldn't make much difference, as i'm hot all the time anyway :)
i don't really like either extreme liliann, but the level of humidity, when high, makes it harder to endure...
really joso? not where i live :)
i must admit i don't like humidity
prob old news, from a month or more ago
she's more to the north joso
it's been humid here and in certain places warmer than others, but i live up north joso, so it's not as warm as down south where i use to live and i miss the weather and my family from there but that's it
just some old news item I vaguely remembered
you're right joso, to the south, they had both heat and a ridiculous amount of flooding
it's very rare that we have hot weather where i live joso, but hot for us so shorts and t-shirts are on when it gets to 22 degrees :)
wa 7/48?
as to weather, I like it here. I like having seasons, too hot for a bit, too cold for a while, spring budding, leaves turning
wa 7/48 fend-off-ers???
pl of a prison guard pen
wa 7 plural of wa 6, wa6 one who wa4, wa4 mystic glyph
we had alot of flooding up here to kate
war also batman's buddy
duh....another plural i missed!....too tired tonight, i guess...
i like that too joso, but the seasons' seem to be changing sadly
yeah..it's summer here
i like 4 seasons too joso, but have you noticed spring has been missing in action for years? winter - 3 dys of spring - heat and humiditu for all the days until the 1 week of fall...
yes, very wet spring summer here
our spring seemed to bypass us completely.
just booked my Hotel in New York.> Yippeee
seems that spring took some time off....
big apple or state ruru?
Big Apple
I love NYC
going to see Doren and maybe Pam if she can come down
trying to paint a doghoue I built for shadow, everytime it dries out it rains again. It's going to rot before it gets painted
Have fun. That place gives me the creeps. Too crowded and it smells like pee.
:) sounds like a blast! not that i'd crash uninvited... ;)
that's a shame joso.it must be a size of a house!! :)
tarp it maybe joso?
*oh jeez Molly.. come on.. it's the most exciting City in the world

I'm not a city person.

My kid just saw the Tom Hanks show. He liked it.

Hi Wht
<---as pure as virgin snow
Ruru..have a great time in NYC:)) It's about 3 hours from where I live.
All together now
what are you going to see ruru?

*hands out cough drops*
dearest ruru... snow is pure as driven, not virgin..... naughty thoughts will always out ;)
Thank you for the trio greeting me.
I'm not sure.. I'll have to see if I can get tickets to something good..

I saw Lion King last visit.. it was incredible
how long will you be there Ru?
there is nothing like Broadway in NYC.. the singing is perfect.. the staging incredible.
About a week and a half Blue
I'm going to walk around and enjoy NY.. and let dart get a zillion points ahead of me :D
A couple of years ago my wife and I went down and saw Avenue Q. We liked it a lot.
The first and last show I saw on Broadway was Fiddler on the Roof with Zero Mostell (sp)
lol..... you're throwing us over for a city????
yes.. I've got to learn how to live my life now
geez, that was forever ago blue!
holy cow Blue.. you gotta get out more
easy though ruru ;) baby steps...

a bird, in the finch family
Wow, read your profile jes...what an intersting job you do have!!
the poor turtle and what will happen to the raccoons?
I usually don't do fledglings - i don't have the time or patience. but the lady i pawn them off on is out of town for the week.
give me the raccoons! i've raised them before... devilish, but oh so cute - and smart!
when they are big and mean enough, i'll kick their butts out in the woods.
ah ok, ty jes, we have finches here but i've never heard of pine siskins.i don't think we get them here
and evil, kate. you forgot evil.
but haven't they imprinted on you jes? how will you teach them - it can't all be inate, mom must showe them wheere to find the best food etc.???
and the turtle?
I have as little to do with them as possible. They have their enclosure with lots of branches to climb on, and a big tub to splash in. I hide food in the branches and drop stuff in the tub for them to find.
ship the coons to toronto, lol... coon capital of north america!
i'll get some fish and put in the tub too, but haven't been to town yet.
They like corn too....*cursing local raccoons*
and any of the other animals tht don't make it get fed to the 'coons
I tell them so daily, to motivate them.
<---- trying not to be too squeamish, as the 'coons aare omnivores...
i used to give my coon babies puppy chow soaked in choclit or strawberry milk.... they do have a sweet tooth!
you had me going there fora moment jes :)what about the turtle?
lol...jes - you ARE the dragon lady!
LOL....the nurse cringed too TK...but that is life...
how did you get coon babies kate?
had you going? i'm not kidding - i keep a stash of failed wildlife rescues in the freezer to feed to other rescues.
brb
the turtle will go back to his pond eventually. that's kind of the standard answer - if they live, the go back where they came from.
omg, really?? well, atleast there dead, i had visions of you giving them live food!
I give them live fish
if not then he'll/she'll be frozen food :)
live fish is different
and live mice.
aslong as there aren't any vegeratarians and pescarian here
oh no. i like mice :)
gotta give them something to work on reflexes so they don't starve when i let them out.
I watched someone feed a snake live mice once. That will put you off your feed for a few days.
the mama brought them to me. she was a regular at my bird feeder (sunflower seeds) and when she had her pups, she brought them to me every night. you don't know the wonder of nature until a wild mama lets her babies crawl all over you!.... then one day she didn't come, but her babies still came every night, so i became mama coon
let them have the frozen food, can they not eat tinned meat and fish ?
i saw that too molly, it's awful.
tinned food doesn't teach them to hunt
stuff the meat in a mouse cat toy and wriggle it
the goal is to be as realistic as i can, within the limits of my facilities.
i htink the point jes is making is that, once released they must find their own food... and there's no sainsbury's and tinne fish in the woods... and they don't have any pocket for their money ;)
not the same.
Animal mothers are much better at letting their offspring go than human ones are.
a human trailing a cat toy around just teaches them to follow humans for food. that is NOT the goal here.
Tell me about that molly!
I want them mean and a little scared of humans.
there is no coddling or petting or sweet talking.
i know jes. i shouldn't be like this as i eat lambs occasionally and when i watch wild life programmes and watch other animals hunt each other i cringe, but it's life
back again. hey jes, long time
mama coons keep their babies with them right up until they are ready to have the next litter... then turn on the older ones and chase them off... there is a lot of "hurt" and confusion on the babies' paerts until they get the message and leave
aye, it has to be done for their sakes jes
hi stiddy
stiddie came back :)
hi again stiddy!!
*Imagines young raccoons seeing a therapist for abandonment issues*
that's sad kate
lol molly
i couldn't be a vet jes. so hats off to you
it's a strange mix of sucker and hard-hearted
Okay...Under the Dome is on.... *poof* time for me!
bye, jilly
you'd think so, eh molly? seems cruel, but a mama coon has a lot to teach her babies about when, where and how to find foood.... they have schedlules laid down for the garbage days... no kidding! they usually range about 1 square km... but more in the real "wild" that's a lot of territory to teach about what fruit/ veg ripens when and where... where the water is, especially in drought etc....
i've cared for people and seen alot die but that was natural, but you have to put animals to sleep so it is different
if you know what i mean
bye jill tc and sweet dreams
yeah - i'm in favor of euthanasia as an option for humans too, though.
it is much more humane than having them suffer with no hope of recovery and a lot of pain lil
<---- trying not to open that can of wporms at this time of night....
i am aswell jes, after the way i've had to watch people pass away
i know that kate, so why can't we do that to humans?
worms are something i've been going through rapidly too, kate; the turtle eats about a dozen a day.
what else do turtles eat jes? and is it a wild turtle?
without opening up a religious debate, it could be subject to abuse for the gain of the heirs lil... in a nut shell
as in did the dog attack it on a beach?
they're supposedly omnivores, but he hasn't eaten anything i've offered except worms. yes, he's wild.
worms = choclits for turtles?
maybe he's just eating what his body needs? protein to heal flesh wounds?
apparently. I'd expected him to go for the goldfish, but he was all about the worms.
totally shuns greens.
tadpoles maybe? perhaps the fish are too big - or too fast?
i mean as it would have to be written down by the person as in carrying, mind blank, kidney, heart etc cards?
fish were smaller than the worms - he didn't even try to catch them.
lots of amphibians like things like melon.. worms are probably just his dinner of choice, at least he's eating!
hah. you guys are distracting me - i failed to notice i'd gotten NBT and am 30 past half way :)
i would think there would have to be more checks and balances than that liliann,,,
well, atleast he's eating something jes.he might not like fish?
wooot! jes, go go go!!!!
What a conversation. Chocolates for turtles and euthanasia all in one bout.
if i was in a state that i didn't know who i was and who my family were i wouldn't want to be here anymore
oh look! molls tuned into an angry bird! lol nice :)
yay jes :)
and liliann, if you had 5 million pounds in the bank and no will.....
nice icon, that is....
I'm also wondering if baby raccoons have day planners so they can keep track of when and where all the discarded refuse is.
i'm never going to have 5 million pounds and if i did i would have a will
they literally do molly... they are incredibly intelligent creatures!
molly has an angry bird, i can't see it
molly, don't be silly, raccoon don't have pockets to keep their planners in!
No pockets? Oh, maybe they get that information on Facebook then. : P
you might have to refresh or close and open babble to see it liliann... my computer was hiccupping and i had to shut down twice to get it to behave.
i still think that people should have the right to choose euthanasia.animals can get it no questions asked but we have to fight for it?
L, animals get it because people choose it for them. Animals don't make that choice themselves.
that's exactly right molly! back in their cosy dens, they have little laptops and get all the info right up to the minute...
but i won't get into that debate now. i know that molly, but why can't we state this on donor cards(ooh, i remembered the word i forgot earlier) :)
it's our right too isn't it. we don't let animals suffer, so why people?
It's a dicey subject L. Like Do Not Resuscitate orders. People sometimes change their minds in the face of imminent death.
we only choose because they will die slowly and painfully
ponder this liliann - true story, though the details may be not quite right.. a woman in her 40's was genetically tested for some hereditary disease ALS, i htink... she will certainly get it and eventually die from it... the last years are extremely unpleasant.. she went ot court and sued for the right to die... not in 20 years when she gets bad, but now before she is even sick... where's the line?
Eh, L, not so much. Animals get put down all the time because there is no room for them in shelters and no one has adopted them.
that's true molly.my nan always said if she got to the point that she didn't know us or who she was put her down, her words, not mine and she is now in a home not knowing who any of us are and hitting other people, but could i make the decision to end her life....no, so why do we find it easier for our pets?
I think, because as much as people love animals, we value human life more. We have been taught that human life is not ours to take. People have been killing animals for centuries.
poor liliann! your nan has alzhiemer's, so sorry to hear that... it's especially sad when they exhibit violence toward others.
well, i suppose that's like angelina jolie, who has had her breasts removed
that is really sad kate, as there might well be a cure or something to help her live a longer live
but didn't she do that sugery as a "pre-emptive strike"? she had no signs, but didn't want to take the chance that she might develop breast cancer later, so she opted to have them removed... is that correct? she did not opt to die on the chance that she might get the disease...
You are correct Kate. And there is controversy as to whether or not that is the way to go.
aye she does kate and i want to remember her the way she was even though i've cared for loads of alzheimer patients so i know all about the disease
1'30" until the flip.... not sure i will make it. getting tired
well, the news here said that she had the gene so she could get it in years to come
from what i heard, the odds of her developing it were extremely high, due to family history and i think an actual genetic screening... still, though i would not pass judgement on what is best for another person, i think it was a bit extreme, especially as sceening methods are very good now, and "fore-warned is fore-armed".....
having a hard time tonight.... ca 6/24 ?
ace, jack queen king are playing ca**s and the pt it for the 6
never mind i found it
my best friend's nan and mam had breast cancer.they both had breasts removed and she wanted to be tested for the gene but her gp wouldn't do it.she told me, that if she had been tested and the gene was there she would have had both her breasts removed as she couldn't have gone through what her mam and nan went through
sorry, i goofed... not pt for the 6, but the one who does it
it's a very tough and brave choice to make
what an awful dilema lil! so glad it doesn't run inmy family! i have a friend here who recently had to make that decision, at first she wanted to remove the breast, but later opted for the chemo and herseptin treatments first.... she seems to have made the right choice, so far, so good
hello
what else do you need sammy's ?
hi meatloaf :)
hi kate
have you popped in for a quickie?
as far as i know i will be here a while not sure about flip
on this one i got nbt and nbs this AM
i hope sll goes well for her kate. my cousin who is more like a sister had breast cancer about 11 years ago when she was in her late 20's and she ended up having a single masectomy, but they put an implant in
that's a good start mlf!
this grid didnt seem that hard at first
meant early 30's
i have 199 left though
she's very optimistic lil, and a good outlook has a great deal to do with the outcome... just look at crossy!
hi mlf
hi lillian
lilliann
it's not too bad mlf, you'll knock a lot off quickly if you list.... not too many strange words today
5th column U i have ud5 what is the other one?
ud 6/27 pl
duhh ty
godda get up early and milk the co 49 ;)
my cousin was like crossy and she has been in remission for years and hopefully keep going

i need co621,co736 and another co6,36 after the baby bed kate please
okay lil
co 6-21 latin plural of co 5-12
co 6/36 'fraidy cat? yellow belly?????
i think we get use to that mlf, it's like people who get up early every mornig, even on their day off will still get up at that time
i have that one, but ty joso :)
lillian they say that you shoudl do that so you can get the same amount of sleep every night
Sometimes hubb and i dont sleep well
2 x co 6/21 : 1st: triplet with the co4/4 and co 5/12 before it - just add another vowel for a greeky pl
co 7-36 rhymes with jiggly eggy desert
ty kate
co 6/21 (2nd): the OTHER leading actor in a play or movie
ty for the co 7
co 7/36 : build off the co 6/21 (2nd) and add a consonat - sounds like a very rich pudding
lol joso at your clue:)
but i don't klnow the dessert..jelly??
custard?
yes
YES
AS IN RHYMES WITH MUSTARD
darn caps lock, sorry

ty mlf
i have 185 left lol
go, mlf, go ;)
i hate it too, but I thought it was big in jolly olde
i didn't have the 2nd co6
<---- despises "proper custard"; loves pudding :)
only 15 7s to find
i like both
aye alot of english like it but i'm odd as i hate puddings
i do like a good fruit crumble though, but no cream or custard with it
hey again all... had a call from the kiddo who needed a ride. *sigh* I don't think I'll finish.
the texture's all wrong in my mouth... it doesn't feel like food... <---- eats like a two year old at times.... it must look good, taste good, and feel good!

i was thinking of the steak that goes of the ra4 :)
extension i think lillian
hello jellen
well, you can always copy your word list and then bulk add it to the bulk add/grab box, but i find expert is much wuicker!
