Glad things are bright for you then! And continue on for today
the usual madness here at home today... Caya has 3 friends coming over for dinner and a sleepover, and Tim is here with his girlfriend, also for dinner and sleepover. We are 8 tonight.

pug: babble blindness. Pure and simple. :)
haven't been over to see braxton since his discharge. thought i would give the family time to settle before i invade their space.
thanx, dear ones, much better today.
very wise, rose. They made a turbulent start. Perhaps you can help out a bit in days to come?
you get over your weepyiness(is that a word?)lol
weepiness. Yes, I'd say it is a word. *hugs rose*
well it is in my dictionary, lol. yeah. went to church this AM, that always settles me.
Sprites having a party today Rose-LaL
ah that is good. Going to the Big Man's office to tell him thanks and keep up the good work.
late hello, rough night.
not me, not me! My girl is having 3 friends over for dinner and sleep, and my son his girlfriend.
sprite, have told son to just call, i will drop everything if i am needed. also told him to make sure deacon's school knows i am allowed to collect him. (in case they are stuck at the hospital with brax)
so glad Rose--hope your return to work goes smoothly for you
hiya melon, rough as in fun or rough as in taxing?
good thinking, rose. They are so lucky to have you.
morning jube
oooh, a spritely party...gotta have an invite? or can i come as i am?
g'day melon
my son has mental health issues coupled with risky behavior and substance use. He drank in a strangers house, nearly got in a fight. I'm happy he's safe—this time.
rose, you can come as you are whenever you want
I think Rose its only her and teenagers
thanx pugs...that is something i am not looking forward to doing.
omg melon, am so sorry. That is a huge scare. Glad he is safe but I understand your worry. *hug*
hey, i do teens really well, just ask my kids...i think they all thought i was nuts..
awww, melon...it's so scary when our kids start to think they are adults...and try to behave accordingly...but their bodies are still kid's bodies...and can't handle it. my heartfelt sympathies, hun
i know the law frowns on it, but it one lesson i had to teach my 3 boys...the limit of alcohol they can consume. i preferred that they experiment under my supervision, than go out and not be aware of their limitations.
It's one thing when a guy in his 20s goes drinking with friends; quite another to be walking home, encounter a guy on the street and drink in his house. My son's ability to assess risk is impaired even when he's not using. Schizophrenia has not been ruled out. He's vulnerable, but he's also cocky when he drinks, and cannot stop once he starts.
Iam not seeing the li6-24 and am missing li5-16
a worrisome combination, melon. I will pray for a very active guardian angel for him.
as for drugs, the only one who went down that road was my eldest, fortunately he saw what was happening to him, and came to me for help to get off them.
and something in my brain is missing this morning too-lol
puglet li5-16 is like a girl's name
but anyone got clue for the li6-24 please?
pugs, most of an arm or leg + st. ***holas, father christmas
li5/16 is an oldfashioned dance. L + nickname of indiana jones.
li6 ends in first two letters of frozen water
got the 24 thanks
li6/24 is descriptive from noun for drawing or painting
potty break
I have to go, alas. *hugs* to you all and I will hold you in my heart and prayers and thoughts.
ty grannyrose !
additionally, he has learning disabilities. Alcoholism on his dad's side of the family. I hold his ID, so his only chance to drink was to run into this stranger with a bottle, and sure enough he did. He said it was "luck", I think he has "radar" if subconscious to find these opportunities. His problems include executive function: the ability to think through to consequences, to prioritize, to plan. thanks for kind words and prayers.
bye Sprite--hugs -take care and have fun with your kids
scouser, thanks for hint, i got it on 1st try, tho I had the li4 and li5 that precede it.

bedtime another couple of hours...and yes, tomorrow is return to work day. not looking forward to it.
I hope you get a supper dupper night of good rest and tomorrow goes quickly and smoothly for you. I know returning to work after time off is kind of a downer but after you are there for an hour or so you get back into the swing of things. Iam sure your co-workers are looking forward to your return

Lovely sn word not Enable-d, not a proper Lemony name, but a friend who spends summers rambling thru Yorkshire uses it, and it is defined as: "Northern English dialect a passageway between walls or fences" Anyone else know it?

don't need the certificates but it is a good feeling to know that just having my computer turned on helps in cancer research for a cure

Ri***** = like a beat-up staircase
hi everyone, back for a few more :) {{{ruby}}}}
aaaah, like my old bones!
{{kate}}
how goes your day ruby?
It is lovely and hot but we could use some rain. However, my first cherry tomatoes are ripe! yay
how are you, kate?
whooopeee for the first tomatoes of the season! nothing tastes quite as good as fresh from the garden :)
I don't eat tomatoes the rest of the year
doing well, the internet is back up at home, hopefully for good! having a lazy day today, i have been a bit tired lately.
but I thought that I wouldn't have any this year because of the nasty spring
if i want tomatoes out of season, i get grape tomatoes, they seem to keep a decent flavour that doesn't get lost if put in fridge.
what are grape tomatoes?
we had a slow start to spring here too, it seems that winter did not want to leave all over the norythern hemisphere...
have i missed any good puppy stories?
and my quince tree is dying
aside from the currants, of which there were many, the happiest tree is the fig
Baby girl is starting to be pretty but is a moose! I think she weighs more that 40 lbs at 7 months
And Rufie is starting to look a bit too interested
small tomatoes, about the size of grape (like the elongated green seedless ones).. but they are very sweet, you can eat them like candy! what is wrong with your quince?
It had beautiful flowers in the spring, but now all the fruit has gotten rotten without reaching full size
lol, naughty ruffie! ;) i have never grown currants, i guess they like cooler, wet weather?
any sign of infestation? maybe some sort of bacteria or mold?
I made 8 jars of Jelly and left several kgs on the plants for the birds as I just ran out of energy. And I don't like the black currants, just let them go away
might have fire Blight ruby
the quince that is
hi ruru :)
Yes, the quince look moldy but I'm no gardener and can't imagine what I could do that wouldn't be bad for the dogs
hello TK
what is fire blight?
(besides being a tongue-twister....)
it's a bacterial or fungal infestation of fruit trees
they generally cut (shorten) the infected branches and spray the tree
that'd be my guess. our Cherry tree had it
I'll have to Google it and look for a French translation
going to Google, good night everybody
niters ruby :) take care!
just looked it up ruby.. I'm right
peaches... pears, cherry, quince .. etc
is it the ripening fruit that is affected ruru, or does it show up on the leaves etc. as well?
yes, I looked it up, too, but they don't mention Europe
I think the mock cherry has it, too
I'll take the latin name to the garden center
good luck to you ruby, hopw you get it all fixed for next year. you might need a spray now and again in the spring?
hi all
7 more for later, see you all soon
hi joso :)
bye kate
bye TK
sweeet dreamx ruby. see you a bit later if you're around joso :)
shows up on the leaves.. but mostly the fruit
the leaves look lifeless

dy4-11 & dy5-28
dy4/11 and dy5/28
hi joso
ty mo and jo! ;-)
hello joso.
alt spelling of dutch boy's thumb rest

not a fish! never saw that word before!
nbt

i assume it is an alternate spelling for eagles nest
the game of thrones spelling
nor is eyck! haha
ah never watch that. . . too violent for me
i tried to watch the first episode once and gave up only about 10 minutes in. . .
you are missing a great one, no paper characters, all have depth and are interesting
i am glad it is a good show but i just couldn't deal with the violence. . .
too bad, missing a gem, but if you don't enjoy then why watch of course
i never finished watch that movie where the famous actor played a mob body guard and the bosses wife od'd from heroine. . .
i was watching it with my boy and when the woman died . . . we looked at each other and turned the tv off even though i had paid good money for the video. . .
godfather series?
every one liked it because he was talking about what they call some burger in france. . . .
Pulp Fiction
It was pretty violent
oh.. one of my most favorite movies ever
that's it pulp fiction. . . .
ah, pulp fiction, yes brilliant film, the dealer's girl lives by the way
you know everyone thought it was brilliant. . .but i have read way too many transcripts and deposition and wire taps. . . .way too realistic for me. . .
you should steer clear of lock stock and 2 smoking barrels too
i used to help my hubby with his criminal trial cases. . .
good to know joso!
its not that i am super sensitive. . . loved public enemy
you could skip Good Fellas too
*starts a list of movies not to see*
*orders Finding Nemo for JMC*
ugh i hated that!
most disney, but skip bambi
my favorite movies are some like it hot; o brother where art thou. . .
like i said i loved public enemy. . . and all three versions of Chicago (it started with ginger rogers)
the saturday night live version of Godfather is hilarious.
the 7 faces of dr lao. . .
that was a hoot
and what is the name of that recent movie about the embassy workers who escaped from Tehran?
i probably would like the saturday night live version!
Smoky and the Imams
thinman films, not politically correct to do morning after scenes and more
they used the old ranken bass christmas characters, and the original script, santa as the godfather
not and, any
haha sounds good joso
ARGO!
what a gripping movie! i was on the edge of my seat even though i knew how it turned out!
reindeers with machine guns, split a gut every time I see it
haha
Hi, everyone! I just rented a movie from Netflix last week that was unique and very entertaining. It's called "Mental" and Toni Collette is in it. Really different and so much fun.
hi mimi tell me more. . .
Can't stream it...only DVD rental.
((jmc)) Basically, everyone in the film is crazy (thus the name) but somehow it works...and there are a couple of lessons there as well. Hard to describe...just trust me on this one.
howdy again everyone:)) am here to clue for a bit if needed
little miss sunshine has all crazy characters and is a great film too
((crossy))
((mimi))
did you like little miss sunshine?
hi crossy
I didn't see that one, jmc...will put it on my list.
My first day off in two weeks...early cocktail hour today!
howdy,jmc
very very funny. . . goes over the top in a really good way. . .
whoo hooo mimi!
we have a holiday tomorrow, just got back from fighting with the tourist and the LCBO. was fresh out of vodka and it was not pretty:)
Yep...playing my computer games, just received my month's food order from Safeway.com and have a freshly opened bottle of vodka...life is GOOD.
Oh, nooooo, crossy!
does safeway deliver vodka? ;-)
Yep..just have to show your ID and sign for it.
downloading mental, tnx Mimi, from the cover I would have passed on it.
wow! they don't do that here!
joso, Toni Collette is so talented. If you haven't seen her series "United States of Tara" where she plays a woman with multiple personality disorder, you should stream it from Netflix...really good.
Do you have Safeway.com there, jmc?
I did see that, was a good series
One reason I really like her other than her amazing talent is the fact that she is more like a "real" person rather than some glamorous plastic actress.
Have you watched "Weeds", joso? Also excellent.
can't have the seller deliver booze here, bootlegging, a crime. but you can have a 3rd party deliver it.
yes i do
Well, then, if they have the delivery there, you should be able to get booze..give them a call.
true, little boxes. Like most of the lead cable shows, violent or not
no, no vodka here. . .wine, beer and mixers
i suspect it is regional. . .
Is that for all of D.C.?
our grocery stores are not allowed to sell booze.period.big brother govt run lcbo does it all
yes, the laws I'm working on are for Ontario, not canada wide
UNLESS a town is 50 or more km form any other lcob
Knew there was another reason I like living here!
our booze is a pita, but we love our universal health care.tis a trade off;)
I just hate govt. trying to run our lives...we know it's absolutely profit-based.
of course it is.i would rather pay more for booze then when i am in hospital
they have to be paid somehow.you pick
we pay through the nose on gas and sin taxes
Yes, crossy, so true. Everything in life seems to be a tradeoff. Frankly, I could use the healthcare but the vodka does contribute to my emotional well-being!
lol,mimi,well said
I'm technically not supposed to consume alcohol but, hell, it's the only vice I have left!
for example at the moment in town, our gasoline is $1.32 a litre or $5.28 a u.s gallon
but i can get my broken leg fixed for free in an hour lol
as far as i know mimi. . . it is for my zip code anyway
I think we have a good balance here, all the booze stores are clean and safe, good prices as lcbo is the biggest single booze shopper in the world. no late nite sunday buying, but if you can't think ahead enough to buy booze a half day in advance, perhaps you shouldn't be buying booze at all.
Dr. McCoy zaps your leg?
lol,jmc,no.break you leg,walk into energ,they fix it
well,not WALK into emerg
they brace it, it takes more than an hour for it to be fixed. . .weeks, months even
Whoa, crossy! I no longer have a car and frankly don't miss the expense. Actually, I do have a car but it is broken down in Atlanta...there's a story there. She is a Jaguar XJS convertible and her name is Miss Kitty. Totally paid for but I won't be seeing her anytime soon as I can't afford to fix her. But I save so much on gas and insurance.
ok,th SET it not to FIX it.i stand corrected
my bad;)
everyone who owns a jag names it. . . .
lol@miss kitty
things are forever needing tune ups. if it is the 12 cyl version that is
She was kind of my midlife crisis car...oh, I had fun with her. She has a 6 CD changer so I just loaded her down with music and cruised...cross-county, don't cha know!
we had one years ago, named it "money pit"
a friend of mine bought Lee Marvin's jag named Baby
it was always in the shop. . .
crossy has his new mid-life crisis car;))))
possibly the most gorgeous car ever made
my saab is my mid-life crisis car. . . i love it
okay i am off. . . bbl with any luck at all. . . .
good thing about a new jeep wrangler at this stage of life is,the day i cannot hoiset my carcass up into it,that is the day i will stop driving it:))
17 left. . . .*poof*
hello to whoever is here...
hoist
howdy,penquis
hi pen
i just finished...short one today...
hi crossy, joso...
yup,easy peasy grid troday
Mine was exceptional. Bought her from a "collector" and only paid $14,500 for her..she was in perfect shape with only 40,000 miles and never really had any expense with her until I had a "friend" who was a mechanic "fix" her and he screwed it up. Chewed tires all the way across the country, and because I had to keep going, broke many other things. So sad...really love that car.
got down to last word without clues and did not need to list at all
cool!
cool!
Of course, I couldn't drive her even if she was here until I pay off my speeding tickets in 2 states. Hey, they should "forgive" those tickets. I've never had an accident in over 40 years of driving and that's because no one can catch up to me...heck, I'm saving lives!
poor mimi:(
lol,do not get involved with police then, you may have old bench warrant over eldery tickets.do not want you babbling in jail;))
Besides, having a Jag parked in this apt. complex would be like sending up a flare saying "Vandalize Me."
Do they really do that, crossy? Mine are really old---2001. I paid the one here in Arizona and now I only have 2 in Michigan.
last vandal we had here years ago ended up with a broken arm.has not happened since
well, mimi,i would pay them.the govt NEVER forgets when you owe them money
Would if I could, crossy. Just hasn't been possible.
they get sneaky, when you apply for anyother govt paperwork,up it posp.here anyways.it is amazing the variety of ways unpaid tickets can trip you up here
they are that big?? my you are a speed eamon, mimi!
i can see mimi, doing 1/4 miles at 3 am down her main street for pink slips....
It's just that they've existed so long, crossy. I don't even know how much one of them is because I have to personally ask the judge to assign the fine....my life is NEVER simple.
us speeding tickets are 2 to 4 times what ours cost
wel, they have to get cash back for the cheap booze
:)
plus us canadians do not need it expensive everywhere.we have Brandon Manitoba....
I used to race Porsches in amateur races so I'm good with speed...as I said, driving since age 16 and never had an accident. It's the speed traps that got me in Michigan...really awful. Hated living there.
wow,mimi:))
I think the two tickets combined are now in the hundreds of dollars...oops!
:((
get a cop and tell him you will race him for it:)
I actually had several people tell me I looked like I belonged with that car. Now I'd need a blimp...
Hey, crossy, I could totally TAKE him!
:))))
It has been fun touching base. Am going to make a little lunch, pour another vodka, watch a movie and try to forget I must transcribe the alien chipmunk on Tuesday. Bye and hugs all around.
Oh, and you don't even want to know the email I got from my ex-husband...so glad I'm divorced.
tc,mimi and have a good night
well, then deposit the e-mail in the trash
the good thing about haveing the ex- infront of the person is that you do not have to give a damn anymore:)
I forwarded it to my best friend of 44 years...she wants to call him and yell...but would do no good. At least I have peace in my little home and that's all that matters to me now. So many years (23) of being unhappy and feeling unloved for basically nothing...never again.
I always thought I'd find the "love of my life" and maybe I did...several times...just didn't marry any of them. Maybe next time around.
Wow--just found ri7/56...happy.
I know all of you found it a long time ago, but it's a victory for me!
congrats mimi, the big word of the day
Is it, joso? Oh, I'm so proud.
OK...vodka kicking in...time for the movie. Really gone this time. Hugs again.
g'nite mimi

You can always count on ruruROCKs to ROCK the boat!
I try to keep it from being tooooo boring around here .. although some of my jokes aren't always caught
wonders which Chat Jane is talking about .. grammatical errors.. are you kidding me?

btw, if males think six inches is such a big deal, why didn't any of them notice my haircut?
(OK, I'm back to the grid now....I'll behave.)
LOL..
love that Montana WIld West humor.
most males are not carpenters :D
I'm going to reinvent myself as a comedian when I retire.
lol?? 6 inches?? i am sorry but i will not cut 2 inches off for anyone lol
Of course you wouldn't crossy. Because no one would notice!
canadians just measure in metric.it sounds much better that way:))

Chat killer
how much time do you get for killing a chat?

'To'.... Sheesh. I'm off yo bed. (Sic)
goodnight, soodle!
who you>?
Enjoy your bank holiday tomorrow
who's on first, ru...
<---Still hasn't figured out what a bank holiday is
A bank holiday is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Commonwealth countries, other European countries such as Switzerland, and a colloquialism for a public holiday in Ireland. There is no automatic right to time off on these days, although banks close and the majority of the working population is granted time off work or extra pay for working on these days, depending on their contract.
*when the bank is closed you can't do any business, so everything closes and it's called a bank holiday.*
today the term is colloquially (albeit incorrectly) used for public holidays which are not officially bank holidays, for example Good Friday and Christmas Day
source: Wikipedia...
Kind of antiquated since businesses no longer depend on an open bank to do business.
