Hi there, Rose. How are you today, m'dear?
So glad to get the good news about your dear little one.
May I please have a clue for any "es" word? Thanks
es 4 plural of the letter "s" es 5 and 6 Lady's name and plural
Thanks so very much, Dee.
yqw
sorry, peach, the call of nature over-rode you.. i'm doing much better today. had a really good howl this morning, and as usual bounced right back. and dear friend? how are you?
good morning all. *hugs* for rose. A good howl can do so much :)
dee?? how are you doing with the grid? you must be close now.
Glad you are better now, the howls do help. I'm OK, will be better when the humidity calms down.>>LOL
{{sprite}} hello, hun.
Hey there, sprite.
hiya peach and rose :)
peach, yuck on the humidity. i can stand heat...not the humidity.
It is really rugged here, Rose.
inter
humid heat - I hate it too. It is like carrying an elephant on your shoulders all day and night.
it also let DH know just how low i was, and how much pain i was in. i don't think he realises yet.
very important that he knows, rose.
sprite, i try to hold back..he is so caught up in the care of mother mac. i don't like to put more on his beautiful broad shoulders.
awww, peach. hope you have a fan on you, hun.and drink plenty of fluids, too
I so understand, rose. But it isn't the way to go. He needs to know where you are, so he can make the right choices when he needs to. And he wants to be there for you when you need him, it'd kill him to find out you held back.
I agree with sprite, Rose. I'll bet he will be able to handle it just fine. He knows how much you have done for her and maybe he will be able to help you with her.
hmmm, wise words from my beloved sprite. thanx hun
*hugs*
and peach also. xoxox to you both
lol, snap sprite
i'm not complaining. feel terrific tonight...and so does he...lol

:) Remember you told me to keep Rob in the loop while he was in hospital? My wisdom is borrowed wisdom, grin.
oh... on of my favorite greek drinks!

Hello Friends

I'm back. Hi there, Pug.

it certainly has, grin.
yay, less than 100 left now.
gooo spritey...it is such a lovely grid...not many weird ones, i promise.
am having a lovely time so far. Even the 9 was a real, normal word :D
yeah, i sailed through so wonderfully.
sprite, DH helped me to put 3 pots of double daffodils into the ground today. and the miniature daffodils in mother macs window baskets have bloomed ++++. they are amazing. and the miniature roses are putting out new shoots and leaves.
oh rose that sounds so beautiful. Did you make pictures?
Dear peeps, I need to head to my pillows. Will try to finish later today. Have a great day/night.
hmmm, not yet...weather permitting, will do so tomorrow, and post them.
I hope you'll sleep well, peach. *hug*

please do, rose. Would love to see them.
arrgghh, again, already
and there went our rose, falling asleep on the enter button, grinnnn
good night Peach
this is driving me nuts...
blame it on miss marple..lol
poor rose. Computer temperamentful, or the server? Or your fingers?
are you watching miss marple?
have to admit to the finger, sprite...
yes, dear...
oh, don't worry then, finger will recover all by itself :)
only if i give it a severe talking to...lol
we could have such a wonderful time together, rose. I love watching miss marple. Love all Christie's books and series.
*gently presses a tiny kiss on rose's twitchy finger"
oh, yeah, sprite...you, me...and ruby
oh yes! That would be awesome. And jigsaws in between to get away from the tv... and ruby is a marvellous cook...
one day, sweet heart...we will be together...perhaps in monet's garden?
I would love that. Only one thing lacking... money... must remember to order a big load of that with the universe :D
I dont want to be left out-lal
pug, we need you there too!
aww, spritey...will happily pay for the pleasure of meeting you. oh, okay, pugs...you can come too.
*wriggles with such delight* wouldn't it be great???
no, that wouldn't be right, rose! Somehow we will make it happen though.
thanks guys and it would indeed be wonderful
pugs??? not how it seems...
oh god yes, it would be awesome. So much fun. I am still smiling broadly whenever I think of visiting ruby. It is something so special.
do you like miss marple too, pugs?
okay, we all unite at ruby's....date to be set...
Iam not feeling so hot this morning. I got a big hernia and its bothering me--sorry Iam not very talkitive
I dont know miss marple-sorry
awww, pugs. so sorry for that...
oh pug, dear one... *loads of healing vibes your way* So painful... hernia in your back? or neck?
miss marple is a detective...an elderly lady...fascinating
thanks guys-no its in my stomach (about 3 inches above my belly button)
miss marple is a creation of Agatha Christie. Oldfashioned detective novels. Brillianty adapted for television. Miss Marple is an old spinster, who looks at life in a way she learned from watching small village life. She is adorable.
and about the size of a grapefruit
pugs, an hiatus hernia???
oh pug, that is nasty. Will you go to your doctor?
I dont know rose--I had it fixed about 5 years ago (I had 4) then it came back
did they just close them or did they put a... don't know the word... put in something to stop the hole on the inside?
Sprite I dont have a doctor and I dont have insurance
they did both
oh pug :( :( Something like that wouldn't be possible here. Am so so sorry to hear that.
a life of hard work and heavy lifting
Here I put a damper on your guy's dream trip --so sorry
oh, I meant someone not having any insurance and no doctor... of course some people can have several hernias, alas. I so wish I could help.
pug, don't be sorry. There is room for happy dreaming and for sharing and support in babble, and it can all go together.
Thank you Sprite
*hugs* hun. Can you at least lie down? Rob had a hernia like that about two years ago and his doctor said to lie down when it hurt.
Yeah I can Sprite--but sometimes thats hurts worse
I hope you can find a way to visit a doctor somehow, pug... those darn things don't go away by themselves. I will hold you in my thoughts and prayers and will ask for a solution, ok?
ahh Thanks so much Sprite
We use to have this show on here called "Keeping up Appearances" have you ever seen that
oh yes! With the Bouquet residence!
ditto here, pugs...would like to know what your doctor calls it. please ask for a print out of his/her diagnosis next time, hun
YES! I loved that show
Ok Rose
and me too, pugs. my mother called me daisy, i called her hiacinth..lol
I love that show. So funny. She so totally snobbish and he such a down-to earth guy.
oh LOL rose!
for some reason I could picture all of us as those people-lol
well..i am very down-to-earth...and she measures with a ruler where to put the s\tamp on the envelope....
oh easily. I always thought they must have such fun making those series.
oh lol yes indeed.
I dont know why that show came to mind-lol
*;) * loving both of you...
it is mutual, rose :) Very much so.
love you guys too--thanks rose
pugs...no mystery...
???
and I feel the same towards you, pug.
good morning?
as to why we all think of keeping up appearances, when thinking of moi....lol
You Ladies are so wonderful
You Ladies are so wonderful
Hi Ruby--hows things with your baby
hiya ruby, yes, here in babble it IS a good morning :)
hahah So we're meeting up at my house??? hahah
hey ruby...how did rafaella go at the vets??
has rufie calmed down now?
we will, ruby :)
oh, yeah, ruby..and DH can think what he wants....
The vet brought Raffie home at 7PM and she seems OK but Rufie was a real problem, wouldn't leave her alone. Finally, I locked her up downstairs and I slept on the couch.
so that she swouldn't be alone
you are a darling to those dogs, ruby. Are you broken now?
It is lovely to see my dear friends in here
What a day/night, but it' OK now
xoxox to ruby
Its nice to see you too Ruby-
going to make bed with fresh linen...see you all soon
bye ruby
fresh linen off the line?
I didn't think it would be that mch of a problem, but Raffie has a hot spot and vet shaved it, leaving a big open sore and that's what Rufe wouldn't leave alone
oohhh good is that, isn't it, pug? I love that smell.
Bye Rose see you later then--x's
oh yeah! nothing else like it
Ruby are your chow chow's black?
I didnt see Ruby taking leave
Sprite did you recover from yesterday
no problem, she will be back.
not yet, pug... it always takes two days to get back to normal for me. Second day after overtaxing is the worst, after that things settle pretty quickly.
Max, the autistic one (pictured) was black, as was Cleo. All th others have been varying shades of Brown, beige, red, blonde
What happened, Sprite? I missed that yestyerday, I guess
I need to step away for afew to get some coffee
see? ;)
ruby, don't worry, nothing happened. Just my therapy day, it is a weekly thing.
ack, I thought you fell or something
no, sorry to make you worry. I am all good.
I'm so caught up in my own BS that I tend to be selfish.....
*hugs ruby* Small wonder, dear friend. You have a lot on your plate. I am ok, just waiting for the results on my blood tests to hear more about the liver and sugar.
Iam back ---Sprite I hope all goes well on your test--and you get back upon your feet real quick
I will, pug. Have survived much worse, I have faith this will work out in the end.
Ruby-I went to that site where you got your dogs from and that is a beautiful kennel there
and welcome back :D
I think the Mi-Pao chows are the most beautiful but that may just be my opinion.
Martha Stweart had a Best in Show chow at Westminster and, although he was magnificently groomed, he wasn't as handsome/beautiful as ours
I love watching those dog shows
so you have reds now
they call them red, but actually they have very little red on them, mostly blonde/beige, Brown with black on their faces
I think breeding for black causes too many genetic problems
They did have some beautiful dogs there that they pictured but their kennel is the best I think Ive ever seen. Have you ever been there
I have to go but will see you latyer. I hope you feel better, Puglet!!! xxox
bye ruby, see you soon
hug your husband from me
I have never seen a puppy chow chow I bet they look like little bear cubs
All of our dogs have been descendants of the famous Jonnie Walker
you can have him, Sprite!!!
thanks Ruby have a good one
yes, they do
aw sweetie :( I know it is hard.
*woof*
Sprite-you dont have to answer if you dont want--but is Ruby's guy mean to her
I picture Ruby as a little bird fluttering in and out-lal
I think it would be best if ruby answered that. I spent a couple of days with them and don't pretend to know the ins and outs. All I can say is they don't walk an easy road together.
It causes me to worry from some of the things she says
hehehe yes ruby is a bit birdlike. Very small and slender. Strong though, in many ways.
I dont know if he reads her mail so I havent said anything
I loved both ruby and her husband very much.
no, he doesn't read her emails. They have separate accounts.
okay, am back for a short while. dinner on, and cooking.bed made with fresh linen.
sounds good, rose. Multitasking, are you? :D
You are just a busy little bee there Rose
as usual, sprite...
what are you having for dinner
and pugs..
ever after my breakdown I haven't been able to multitask. But I am starting to be happy with doing one thing at a time. I approach it in Zen style now.
beef lsagne and salad...for all 3 of us.
yummy!
sounds good--I even think I can smell it coming through my window-lal
sprite, just ask Our Lord, as to what is the most impotant...
*important*....sigh... am so relaxed here
do you have to work tomorrow Rose
I should do that more, shouldn't I, rose. Realised in our talk recently that when I do, I ask for others.
Iam so glad for you Rose
that is great to hear, rose.
no, pugs...will let them know i am not allowed to drive...will probably throw a spanner in the works...
lets all just take a deep breath and exhale slowly and feel his presesnt among us
oh that is very good, rose. Well, you know what I mean... it is not good that you are in pain and all. But very good there is a strong reason you can't go to work. Your body needs re4, I think.
so you taking a leave from work then
sprite...please rest in the hands of Our Lord...so much more comfy...lol
oh pug... you know, I was just thinking, somewhere in the bible it says something about if we come together in his name, he will be there... and I thought, when we come together in babble, it works the same way. No need for physical nearness.
hehehe will do, rose.
thats right Sprite
pugs, going to ring both my return-to work officer and my unit manager...wonder what their responses will be...lol
Have you forgotten Sprite how to just let go sometimes
yeah I think I have, pug. Maybe I have never known. Am learning though.
well hopefully Rose they will be understanding
will be interesting, rose. Please keep us up to speed. Will hold both of them in my prayer as well. To the best possible outcome for all concerned.
pugs...they will most so certainly will haveto be...
do you know the serenity prayer Sprite? That is a good everyday prayer
sprite, with you and pugs with me...how can i fail...
oh yes, I know it, pug! It is a lovely one.
you can't, rose, and you won't. Even all by yourself you wouldn't. You are one of the strongest people I know.
Only you know your own body Rose and if it cant take the demands put upon you right now then its you that has to make the choices that are right for you
I second pug
There is a reason that God gave us pain
There is a reason that God gave us pain
I remember at my study, someone asked our teacher at some point why she had to suffer so much. And he said: "Imagine you didn't suffer at all. Imagine you were excluded from the suffering of this world. Now that would be really awful."
If you are having pain for like walking too much --its like hes saying "NO Rose too much or not yet""
Have either of you ladies read the book called The Shack?
no I haven't.
Its not a long story but it is so good--you got to read it
just looked it up, looks like a must-read. Do you guys know the book and movie "Tuesdays with Morrie"?
no I dont
Rose must be making her calls
that is so beautiful. It is about a man, Mitch Albom, who is too busy in life to really live at all. He goes to visit an old teacher of his and finds him mortally ill. This teacher inspires him and many others to really live life. So beautiful.
sorry, my loves..bladder must be emptied...lots to act on from both of you. thanx
oh that sounds good Sprite---I will have to try and find it--wrote it down
oh don't say sorry, rose. Bladders rule the rhythm of conversations. Especially amongst women. :D
hmm, the shack...
pugs, the shack...by whom is it written ?
I dont remember Rose--I will have to look it up
Sprite might know she just looked it up
ahhh, okay. thanx pugs
by W.P. Young, rose
Its a very good story
ahhhh, thanx sprite
do you have an ereader, rose?
no, sprite.,
I dont know what that is so I guess I dont either
it is kind of an electronic book. You can put files on it and read them on the screen. I found the book file for the Shack.
does it feel like holding a book and can you smell the paper and does it hold the same excitement as turning the page?lol
sprite...know what you are referring to!! i would rather read a book in hard copy. call me weird...not a problem
lol pug, no. The newest ones do have covers that feel like holding a book. But no to the rest. It doesn't replace loving books. But it is a wonderful way to be able to read everywhere, have lots and lots of books and to share them easily.
I call you weird, rose. Lovely weird. Wouldn't have you any other way.
Sprite is our electronic Queen! She will teach us all the newest things out there-lol
*grin* just hoped I could share the book with you.
hugs Sprite! I didnt mean to urt your feelings
(hurt)
okay, sprite...
silly, you didn't hurt my feelings at all!
i think the last name of the author for the shack is young..... also there is a book called the shack revisited
yes, W.P. Young. Hiya ivesy :) Tuesdays with Morry is written by Mitch Albom. You will love it.
I havent read that one--Is it as good
now our dinner is ready... see you tomorrow. xoxoxox to you all
Hi Ivesy
havent read it yet, i just heard of it yesterday. i dont think its the same author though, which is strange
night Rose--hugs back
oh my bad, it is the same author
did you read the shack Ivesy
oh yes.. i thought it was great! and you?
pug: it seems to be very different from the Shack. It takes you to the bible's proof of the trinity. Some call it a bible school in a book.
oh yes--it was so good I bought several and sent them out
i really enjoy christian reading.. has anyone read books by nancy moser.. book called the lottery and a couple sequels to it.. very good
now I havent
thanks Sprite--that thing is nice
I meant no I havent
I just read a christian book that I didn't like at all... so judgmental and highhanded. Scary, actually.
I read all the left behind books and Iam not real sure what I feel coming from them
what was it Sprite
am trying to remember... will be able to soon
i read those too pug... intersting but dry at time
ok, time for my mother and son coffee trip to tim hortons.. bbl, have a good day/night all!
yes some where--I think the first 2 or 3 were the best
enjoy and bye Ive
I remember. This Present Darkness, by Frank Peretti.
bye ivesy, have a good one!
Sprite is that ereader like a kindle I see on like Amazon?
yes, a kindle is one brand of ereader.
can you see the writing really good or is it very small wording
you can even adjust the font size to your liking.
oh that would be nice since the smaller prints is getting to be too much for my aging eyes-lol
Is getting the books on there cheaper then the real thing
yes, much cheaper. And you can get lots for free as well.
I might have to check more into them
I enjoy reading outdoors--does the outside light effect the screen
yeah and maybe ask around among your friends. Some people want to have a newer one or a smarter one and are willing to give away their old one.
I have a very simple one, pug, and I can set the backlight to a higher intensity when I am outdoors. It has 3 or 4 settings for that. The newer ones are even better.
Sprite does it hook to the internet or what
yes, you can simply connect it to your computer and copy files to it.
simple is what I like--lol
same for me. Simple is nice :)
thank you Sprite for explaining things to me
You and Rose seem so smart!
My ereader is an Archos 70. Very simple, but perfect for my needs. Not expensive either. Lol, yeah, 'seem' being the operative word in my case. Just experience, pug. Feel free to ask anytime.
did you buy yours off line
yes I did.
I find alot of things much cheaper online then in our local stores
absolutely.It is the same here.
did you buy new or used
Ive seen used ones on Amazon
I bought a new one.
oh great! Check them out, I think you would enjoy having one.
I most certainly will Sprite and once again thanks
my pleasure :)
You know Sprite Iam feeling so much better now
oh I am so happy to hear that!
oh I am so happy to hear that!
crosshair is a wonderful source of information about ereaders too, pug, and also a great source of free ebooks. Ask either of us for a book you want, once you have a reader, and we will try and find it for you.
server cut me off
nah, just the normal hiccup at 5 am grid time, don't worry. It is the time the statistics etc reset.
I like crosshair-he seems such a nice guy
crossy is a lovely, beautiful, gentle and fun man.
I must be the healing power of Babble that has made me feel better-lal
hehehe Babble healing :) I have fireflies and I have to go... sorry to leave you. But loved chatting with you. Big *hugs*. Bye all!
hugs back and its been a pleasure thats for sure--take care

Morning, ruby.
{{crossy}} are you still here?

I'm a little miffed with the man...
oh?
Turns out he's still in contact with someone I ask him not to be.
uh oh
*asked
my husband and I have been married since Dec '97 and he still hears from his previous wife. The difference is, I don't care
hello
Oh, this is someone who actively wants him in her life.
hello fan
hi ruby
Hi, MLF
hi Jellen
pretend she's not there and maybe she'll just disappear.....
Am I being too insecure?
but if you discuss it, she'll gain importance
when you asked him not to be in contact with her, had he agreed?
Yes, I thought so.
but the days when she contacts him, go and hang out with your friends
pretend it didn't happen.
don't let him discuss it
well if you agree on stuff then he should keep to it. if he doesn't really agree and he agrees on the outside but doesn't inside and then doesn't go along, then that isn't going to work, if he does that on other thing, that is an unhealthy relationship pattern.
honesty, straightforward, clear dealing, these things are important.
Maybe he just doesn't know how to tell her to go away.
I think that's what is upsetting me, hurshy.
First column N?
so make sure he knows that, that it isn't so much about her as about the honesty and that if he is just having issues because it's hard to hurt someone's feelings, as bea said, you understand that, and you're willing to help him think of ways and there's latitude there.
Good, hurshy.
mlf, ni5/10, japanese immigrant

There is that damn volcano...
in 19-oh-something there was a man put in a prison cell when a volcano erupted and then everyone on the island was killed except him, he peed on his clothes and stuffed them in the air holes and that kept the air inside cool enough that he survived for the few days until someone else came and got him out. and now nobody knows what his crime was because everyone who knew was killed.
interesting
Urine...it might just save your life. Public Service Announcement.
it's not just for jellyfish stings anymore
Good morning, Molly.
hi Molls
Top o' the mornin' to y'all
Granddaughter is one month old today.
Awww, I bet she is beautiful.
more than half done, going for a walk, errands, bbl.
Name that proper noun....Ultravox song named after a European capital city
Vienna, Hursh did that one earlier : D
Guess I missed it then, Molly
ah but nobody answered when i did it
Well then props to Movieman for prying it out of us. : )
indeed
i am so happy sitting here listening to marty drink water
Life's simply pleasures
Or simple pleasures
mmmmm
name that proper noun...the lady with the scarlet letter
Hester
ding ding ding!
And I spelled it right, so no controversy. What did you all think of the kid who was denied his answer on Jeopardy because it was spelled wrong?
didnt see that program...what was the word?
oh, molly, secondo was SO UPSET over that! also, I told ALL the kids at my tutoring center about it, lest they think spelling doesn't matter
The word was emancipation. And Trif, the rules for Final Jeopardy clearly state that the answer has to be spelled correctly.
they could have given him a break, it was a CHILD, and he was going to come in second anyway....
i agree Trif, geesh, i was pleased he got the correct answer
and he was so upset. you just know for the remainder of his life he will be plagued with aholes at school asking him "how do you spell it?"----like THEY could
that's a shame
so true
phantom: nineties
I've read a lot of heated discussions about the Jeopardy thing. One the one hand, there is what Trif is saying. On the other hand, do we teach kids that spelling doesn't matter?
do the people who come in second get to keep the money?
Second place winners get a $2000 dollar consolation prize. And he was going to come in second, right or wrong.
also he people who agree to be on those shows know they may win or lose--was this kid pushed by his folks, as so many young prodegies are? did he really make a choice to be on?
his folks seemed nice enough. I saw the mom try to comfort him during the closing credits, but he was having NONE of it.

Hi Roundbarn. Sue and Crosshair have both been singing the praises of the books you sent them. : D
Molly, would you like a book? You are one of the people I particularly follow. You, Soodle, Hurshey,
are these books that are on kindle?
I dont have a kindle as yet. thinking of getting one
I am still like to have a physical book in my hands.
mine are still phsical books, though they are on electronically. We may make them available to kindle, Have to ask my techno experts. The two Northwestern ones could be got on Kindle I'm sure (Stories from the Round Barn.)
treh op ones might be got on kindle--try The Taste of Spruce Gum--that's the one that almost won the Newbury,
I dont own a kindle. I will go to Amazon and look for The Taste of Spruce Gum later. Thanks.
I yjink they have op copies--used ones--try also Abbooks or Abebooks. try our Gwen Dr--she has used books and said she had some of mine
thanks, Round, will do.
Guess I lost Molly. I watch all of you.

Amazon and I are very good friends in the book department. Their used books are practically new. Sometimes they are new.

NBT, NBS, and 55 words found. I'm happy (it proves to me my brain is awake). ;-)
Yay for Nef's brain
that sounds like a punk rock band name
Molly, the rest of me is up and going today; but I'd made a pot of coffee and forgot to add the coffee grounds to it; so it made me onder
oh crap I do that all the time
ruru, are you referring to the NBT, NBS,and 55? I guess I don't know too many punk rock bands.
it's because you needed the coffee first to wake up...
No, Nef's Brain
And that was kind of the final straw that made me wonder. I'd put toothpaste on someone else's toothbrush, put a load of clothes in the washer and forgot to turn it on (so now I'm behind where I wanted to be in laundry) and one other thing (which I can't remember now)
welcome to old age nef :D
Oh I love it. I can't remember what I forgot to do.
*running through list of personal weird things* did you put on your PJs after your shower instead of your street clothes? That's a classic sign you need more sleep...
ruru, I'm probably older than you; so I'm already there.
well. I'll be 60 next year
gm all....coffee needed?
yes please, gypsy *holds out mug*
*mind boggles at ruru's greatly advanced age* *wicked mama look*
hi stid....here ya go

I think I'm going to need a cookie to finish this. 99 to go
Ru you get such a bad rap here. Bald and at a greatly advanced age.
no kidding.. good thing I don't look 60
and I'm not bald
nor short and fat.. these are all just fantasies of KJE
I wouldn't have guessed 60, ruru -- although that 6-shooter in your icon does seem to date you a bit.
Yes, but for some reason, the myth lives on. : D
Ah... I let them have their fun..
no, I think ruru has a lovely mane of golden dreadlocks that coordinate beautifully with his artfully hand-made tie-die... *ducks ruru's aim*
quanta
if you dish it out .. ya gotta be able to take it
oops sorry bout that
oh! thanks for that one gypsy! need more coffee? ;-)
LOL! Yep, that grey horizon is coming closer and closer! :-D Yesterday was my little sister's b'day; and seeing her pictures on FB it's scary that she has totally wh/5/20 hair. (Of course, *my* hair hasn't turned grey yet; I DO have grey hairs, but I am not grey yet)
flying somewhere gypsy (covering for CG)
lol
tks gypsy, that was the "q" I was missing :-)
I'll take a cookie too MM
yvw mm
chocolate chip or snickerdoodle, ru?
I needed the color word, thanks Nef
snickerdoodle .. love those
FINALLY NBT. *sigh* it's taking forever
not a chocolate chip guy
snickerdoodles??? *happy mama look*
homemade by my mama!
finally made it to 50
ohh mama cookies are the best
definitely ru
now I can list
Do you know that there are people who have never *GASP* heard of snickerdoodles? I feel sorry for them.
Yay ru!!
I am going to hijack Tom and go appliance shopping today... see you-all later? I am down to 179, might be back this afternoon, but hopefully this weather will let us work in the garden this afternoon. *poof*
oh, and BTW, ruru, my little sister turned 63; I'm almost Medicare age (according to all the health plans and program ads I'm getting you'd think it's next week!
wow.. i didn't know nef.. you have a young spirit
I just refuse to grow up
Everyone looks young here in the chat log of eternal youth.
I know, it's the hair, right?
well.. it is blue hair though
rofl...great way to spend a mrning
Yes, but shocking blue, not little old lady blue.
hi again :)
I am going to be pissed if I've missed some easy ones
97 to go, but, alas, there is life outside the grid and I must get some work done. I will leave a plate of cookies here.
LOL! I DO color my hair, but in my family I'm the one with "difficult" hair. It's baby fine, thin, and very straight so coloring it gives it some body (it's usually foiled, so my real hair color is still there too. I'm telling you that so you don't think I'm a bottled platinum blonde
<---knew that already :D
bye, MM! Thanks for the cookies!
bye ms okie
bye mm

LOL CG
oooh so sorry...this is why I can't chat n spell
GO, cgypsy, go! Loving your clues! :-D

I was doing that yesterday morning, don't feel bad cgypsy
yikes...ty ru
will pour another cup of coffee see if it helps
love the blue hair nef
un 6, please?
It really is the closest to my real hair style that I've ever seen (except for the color). My real hair is really plain old brown
un + sleep
or un 6 a protest
un6 is pl of what you do to your shoes
you have spiky hair/
duh - ty ruru
?
:D nan
yep, ruru, some days more spiky than others. It's the one thing I can do with my hair besides FLAT
oh...
is that scary, ruru?
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help and thank goodness the monkeys decided to go to work today!
YAY, cybernan!!!! WTG!!!
congrats nan
off to get the laundry done -- hagd everyone :)
*Conservative nu5 image of Nef eradicated from brain*
I'm finding I'm forgetting all the plurals here. Either I've entered just the singular word OR just the pl. That's nearly doubled my words now
thanks for the clue, Molly. Why would spiked hair erase that image of me?
ty nef just went back and found some too
Because spiked hair is far from conservative.
120 left...must list
LOL! It isn't a 12 inch high Mohawk spiked look! It's a "conservative" spike. ;-)
Nef, I think conservative spike is an oxymoron. But I'll take your word for it. : D
My hair is between 2 & 3 inches long; the spikes are softer sometimes than others and they are smaller than in my icon too
soft spikes?
Yep. I rarely stab DH with them. ;-)
well... if used correctly.... :D
50 is it I guess
crap
BRB, I need to go change laundry loads.
come on, ruru, you can finish!
I can't.. i'm stuck.. and been stuck a long time

Lets just say Gabby Cabbies are no longer flavor of the month, and draw a line under it.
So much to be said about "flavor of the month"...but will refrain...
More tea, Vicar? Lol
Golly gosh, I can't seem to find my wh5 gloves and weird hat anywhere. So I will just skeedaddle down to the pub and leave you to have your chat with the Vicar.
love it when dictionary.com doesn't have a word in its dictionary...
Lol :-)
Watching 'Bridesmaids' .... again. What a great movie.
*wonders if Soodles next move is Bus Drivers *
You like those "Bridget Jones" kind of movies.
Bus Drivers? Gosh. Never heard of it. IBut I'll give it a miss for now. Focusing all my attention on the forthcoming Breaking Bad.
Bus drivers...as in those y-chromos who drive buses. *Checks the wine bottle empties in Soodle's trash*
not Movie ... move.. from cab drivers (upgrade to Bus Drivers)
Only in California are there organic lollipops for the kids
Organic lollipops? Seriously? That's pretty funny.
Aha!!! So THATS why Google didn't throw up anything about the newmovie Bus Drivers. Very very slow tonight, is old Soodle.
I think so and during the magic show, one Mom just exposed her breasts and was nursing. and this kid wasn't a baby. I thing the magician probably had a cow
I'm starting to understand some things...
never saw bridesmaids.. but an american president is on tonite.. and last nite there was an old old movie on with fred macmurray playing the husband of a female president(polly bergen) think it was 1946
I will also refrain from comment on militant, breast exposing, nursing mothers of toddlers. I take enough flak here as it is.
When my eldest was about 7 or 8, he watched a documentary about breast-feeding. He looked at me, utterly horrified, and said, 'Please tell me you didn't breast-eat me'. I happily reassured him.
*taking a look at chat and going back to the list*
<-------retreats to Bridesmaids.. C
This was a mixed audience.
I have no problem with breast feeding. I have no problem with breast feeding in public, as long as it is done discretely. I do wonder about women who expose a mostly bare breast to feed their child in public. There are other ways to do this that don't make people uncomfortable.
I also think that by almost two, a child can wait to be fed.
By almost two, a child can feed themself.
Did I offend Penquis?
I hope not. And I hope that someday, people can express an opinion in this chat, without it turning into an offense thing.
oh no, soodle....no offense taken....
i am not easily offended.... ;o)
Strange, I took your comment about the conversation in chat the same way as Soodle did.
hello again
Hi Annie
Hi Molly :)
Hi Annie
I stopped at the dreaded re's and no one came and filled them in for me :(
sorry...just had no interest in participating in that discussion...no problem if others do....
Hi bichon, organic lollies? I laughed at that
The funniest thing was my d.i.l. forgot to bring them to the party.
does anyone know where i can download lickety's babble expert?
:-). Glad I didn't cause offence. Organic lollies? I saw 'lite' shampoo in the supermarket today. In case your hair is getting too fat? Sheesh!!
you have to inquire about it
The in words are a nice preview for me to future stumbling blocks on this grid.
i think you email lickety....licketySplitAUS@gmail.com
Puppies and kitties. Always the safe conversation to have here. Oh, and weather.
i only have 172 to find
Bethanyej, Sprite has a link to babble expert in her profile..you can get it from there.
i don't begrudge anyone from talking about anything.... if i am not interested, i just work on the grid....
thanks everyone
Hiya Zooz :-)
Hello, Soodle :-)
But I'm sure you can see why *taking a look at chat and going back to the list* made people wonder.
yes, sorry about the confusion...
feel free to talk about whatever you want...anytime...i don't understand people taking offense to certain subjects....i can just ignore what i am not interested in... i am happy to do that...but i do understand what you are saying....been here long enough to notice...
Soodle has a good heart and her comments are never meant to offend. Mine aren't either, but that is another story entirely.
as i said, i am never offended....only been offput a few times when someone giving clues was somewhat condescending....(no one here now)....
sorry, but i have to go to the bakery before it closes...see you all later!
pen, get something yummy. bye
i will!....bye for now....
I get indignant when someone asks for a clue, gets one, then asks for a "better one"
may I interrupt to ask for a clue for the upper right U6? It's the only one I need for FW and my monkeys are losing their cool.
<Loves bakeries. Except, I inhale, & gain7 lbs. :-(

the babblet is not from that letter
oops sorry
'sokay
ni and spanish yes
Okay, I'm confused. I have ni4, ni7 and ni5...japanese immigrant from that letter.
I think we may have been talking about different babblets. I consider the ni4 from that n to be a babblet
and ty for the immigrant!
But it's the only ni4 there is.
right. I think maybe harp was looking at the na 4/4
And you said ni4 Babblet...I will just remain contentedly confused MMom. : D
ah well, she's gotten it by now and we can move on to more stubborn words :-)
So I should stop looking for the 2nd ni4?
yes cos LOL
Cos, come to the confusion corner. I have cold beer!
lol sounds delicious! is it foamy on top? :)
But you're buying after the first round, since you are a working man now. : D
sorry about the confusion. When I looked back at the grid I thought there was another ni that came from a different n. My bad. I'll just skulk back to lurkdom where I don't cause probs. :)
But of course!
lol no prob mmom...
im doped up on cold pills too so that didnt help :P
You didn't cause a problem MMom. The ni4 babblet comes from the left column N.
I'm flustrated that I'm not going to get these last 70 before I have to head out. Bummer
'Contentedly Confused' . How delightful. I shall aspire to be contentedly confused.
HI Soodle. Huddle in the beer corner with Cos and I. I will dig up some wine for you.
Molly, I'll slum it with you guys & slurp beer! Slainte!
Okay, and we can "Mom" Cos with tea, honey and Irish.
Jameson please.
Yay! Prepare to be Mommed, Cos......
I am feelin better than I did ysterday so thats something
Typical, isn't it? First job in a while , then whammo, the old bod lets you down! Meh!
Jamie's, tea and honey coming up. *Sets up the cool air humidifier in Cos's room*
back for last 20 words....hello again....
Pressing back of hand to Cos"s forehead to assess temerature. Fluffs Cos's pillows & spoonfeeds hin nourishing chicken broth...,

hey gwen :-)
ty!
so nice to see a bid grid, even tho i don't think i'll have ime to finish
just started your bio movie gwen, looking forward to learning all about you in pagemaster
joso??
I don't see anyone named gwen yet
what are you talking about??
maybe pagemaster is not about you
seemed a natural for a book doctor
do i need to look up a movie called pagemaster?
na, kids flic, you popped up as I started it so if prompted a lame joke
oh, all righty then
(a book doctor is an editor, btw, not someone who fixes broken bindings)
oh, as you are in used books i though you did repairs
well, i can do minor repairs, sure, but before i was a bookdealer i was a book doctor
and i still write and edit a little now and then
do you have an editorial specialty?
yep, unitarian universalism
thats pretty specific
yep, that's why i'm broke lol
me too, and I don't edit anything
i'm self publlished, two books for and about UUism, as we call it for short
I can see the need for a short form
also published by "real" publishers, but that was a while ago
one of the folks who was around at the time of consolidation (1961) said our name was as easy to say and rhinoseros hippopotamus . . .
don't get pagemaster, sucks
advice noted! 8-)
starting Emperor now, have much better hopes for it.
i've been watching dvds of star trek voyager. i promise not to fill up the chat with star trek chat, i'm not a serious trekker
voyager was much better than the other 2 sequel series, almost as good as the original
imo, best of all the treks
imo?
i just don't see the fascination with Star Trek..
mainly because they are stuck on the far side of the galaxy therefore no idiot admirals to show up and give them idiot orders. plus, all the smartest characters are women (plus tuvok)
imo = in my opinion
the one "token white male" character is kind of a jerk, and later becomes the nurse. ha ha
star trek was highly innovative (i'm referring to the original series from the 1960s) and i say that while not being a big fan
still like the original best, inviting submissions from many writers kept it fresh, and I liked the camaraderie the lead characters had, just didn't like kirk
DS9 was my favorite...
joso, exactly! kirk was supremely annoying, most of the time, imo
the hammiest actor of all time
I thought ds9 had a strong start, placed in a very interesting situation, then blew it.
i watched a lot of star trek growing up, having an older brother who was a fan. i just ignored kirk and watched spock lol
i think DS9 went through a rough middle patch but picked up... i liked it because it had a little more depth....and somewhat of a longterm storyline...
I had to fight my brothers to see it, one wanted I love lucy and the other wanted any sport show
the only trek series i did not like much was Enterprise...
back in the time when a house had one tv
we had one tv growing up too
i enjoyed ds9 a little bit, but overall is was dark and depressing to watch
same here
i love lucy or sports? wow.
3 very different brothers
that's a tough call
i can see that lol
I guess it depended on which brother was biggest ?
every once in a while jeffrey combs would guest star, then i would be interested in ds9 or enterprise
ouuu....he was very good...
he was on voyager once, playing a character so nasty i wanted to shoot him. he's good at that lol
flip of the coin, and who got to the tv first
i would have to take lucy over sports, but not a big fan of either one . . .
and then, let's see, golf over football, curling over golf, lol
well, i'm off, gotta eat the dinner. later, buds
none for me, alway a nerd, reading sci fi at first and gaming

Wish I could have a drink of Scotch.....sometimes just need it....alas, it makes my heart race....I must get some strength for the flip.....thanks again.
got a hold of some turkish raki, horrible stuff, not anything like greek homemade stuff.
I grew up in KY....three distilleries there once.....and of course, whitelightening. I never cared for bourbon but loved scotch.....only tasted the home-made stuff once.....terrible.
What was the raki made of?
the raki I first tasted was very subtle flavoring, this stuff clubs you with licorice and grape
But the Greeks make a much better brew?
almost down to 100... LOL
a peasant drink, take the leftovers from wine pressing, ad the leaves, vines and give it one more squeeze, fortify with sugar or honey and distill, this bottle proudly proclaims fressh grapes
Sounds good.
I think this is supposed to be the better stuff
Stiddie, you need some clues?

Hello toadandtoadette! How are you? Welcome to the grid

Ok, I gave my one clue for today and now I am signing out.
Goodnight to my fellow babblers! I will see you tomorrow.
129 to go, not looking too promising.
tired. about ready to give up with less than 70 left. night
Sweet dreams, Min.
Need to let the dogs out....see y'all at the flip.
night y'all... left this one with 62 left. I love big grids, I don't feel so bad when I don't complete them all.
Hello again Everyone. I was here around noon today and doing well, but then my daughter called and needed to go in for Emergency dental surgery for an abscessed tooth. Now I'm back home and won't finish this again.
They cut an incision in her mouth and drained it; but in less than a day it had also spread into her face and she also has a cellulitis with this infection.
jeees nef, sounds like one serious dental problem
sounds awful. Elle drove down with books, but she's at a friend's. She threw in a few words. her Babble name is Alembicc
yeah. And to think she was at the dentist having work done on another tooth on Tuesday. :-(
alembic, from Tintin
hello all. nef that is terrible.
hi RB. How are you doing today?
Between braces, abcesses, root canals, crowns and extractions, that kid has probably $50,000 in her mouth (and she's only 30).
alembic from Tintin? Why does that sound familiar?
good grief!!! do she have bad dental problems as a kid?
i had Elle walk around the house and photograph things I think are of value--among other activities. But now she's gone till tmr noon, so I'm doing Babble--far from done. But if I don't close down now, then I'm up too late--the new grid is always tempting!!
do she?

hi nan
for awhile all my daughters were a team on another game, all had tintin names--Elle is still here as Alembic--forget which book--and Gillian sometimes comes out of lurk with a bit of wisdom, she's Rastopopolus. Again, which boo?
