thank you flosey :) With my babble friends thinking of me, nothing can go wrong.
hello from me. sprite, am thinking of you, and praying that you will meet today filled with God's grace and peace.
aw rose, thank you :D
hi all
hi joso and rose! *hugs*
any news on the Mother Mac front, rose?
hey joso, flosey, pugs, arb, and dee
hi joso
good to see you rose
bless you, sprite, she is still in the hospital
just be yourself sprite and you will have them eating out of your palm
Hi ya Rose and Joso and Flosey
hi pugs
ah, that is a good thing. I hope they can keep her a little longer, while your husband recuperates further.
hey sprite, rose, pug, flosey
How is everyone today
aw thanks joso. You guys know just the right things to say to make me feel better!
and you yourself, pug? And you, joso? And rose, how are you doing with the added stress of work?
I am well pug, how about yourself?
not so bad here. i really did sit for most of the 5 hours today. don is improving everyday. still coughing, but it is a dry cough, like a ticlish throat now.
Hi again - Sprite I'm sure that all will go very well today and you'll come out with some sense of relief! The first meeting must, by its nature, be the hardest!
and yourself rose, less runaround today
Good to read that things are improving, Rose :)
I can imagine his lungs etc being pretty sensitive with all the coughing by now.
they got all the combining done around my home so Iam happy about that....although now I got a ton of dust to clean now--lol
howdy liz
Hi Liz
thanks Liz :)
And hi Puglet and Joso too :)
oh pug, how lovely that the noise is past. Sorry about the mess, grin.
*hugs Liz* How are you today?
Things are fine here - I feel guilty - no real issues! A wonderful drama-free life! Lucky me!
well feel lucky about that, liz
hey ya liz...and thanx everyone for your good wishes.
don't feel guilty, somewhere down the road rain will come liz, enjoy the good while you got it
lol Liz! You are a radiant example to us!
Rose any news on the surgery date yet
oh, we are all in the grid today, my fr6s!
not yet, pugs. am hoping to hear tomorrow.
will keep fingers crossed, rose. May it be soon and may it all work out the way we wish it, this time.
I think I had my rain around 12 years ago - bullying at work etc etc. Hopefully just a stress free life now!
I thought you were going to say h4--lol
lol
good on yer mate
that bullying crap is bad whereever it happens at
Liz, I wish you a sunshiny life for all the years to come!
Yep, I'm with sprite in hoping surgery will all work out for you Rose!
Ty sprite!
i wish that for everyone.
had bullying at work too, it was the final trigger for my total collapse. Am sorry you had to go through that, Liz. It makes one feel so horrible :(
I will be glad when its all over for Rose and she can dance until her hearts content
It worked out well in the end - changed jobs and met my hubby :)
hehehe... in the greater scheme of things, some bad things are actually blessings in disguise. Who knows where we are guide towards when things seem bad, huh.
absolutely, if anyone deserves to enjoy a dance it's rose
I had some bullying in school and its not a happy place to go to
so true sprite
pug, amen to that. In her tutu. With a halfnekkid Don as her audience.
As long as you can also dance in your mind - then it's not so bad!
audience, schmaudience...he will be dancing right along side of me....
But yes, Rose in her tutu, dancing - great!
And that's the best way, Rose!
lol rose... I love you. You are awesome.
Lots of luck sprite - will be thinking of you. BBL :)
are you a dancer Flosey? and Joso?
*hugs flosey* you have had your share of rain as well, haven't you. And now sunshiny years :)
thanks Liz, have a lovely evening :)
you leaving Liz?
night then--have a good one
by liz, have a good one
yes sprite, much sunshine now sprite
Yes - stuff to do but will be popping in and out! Enjoy your days / nights!
am happy for you, flosey! You deserve it.
na, not much of a dancer, can do a waltz but too shy to really enjoy dancing pug
joso rules at the horizontal mambo though ;)
not even behind your own closed doors?\
You sound like Rose--lol
not really learned pugs, just move to the music more or less - but love to watch good dancers - love to watch the Greek dance
*grin* rose and I are soulmates.
loo-ve the dance....classical ballet, not too much of the modern stuff. they seem to have lost the ability to tell a story. like all things physical, it is about pushing the body to it's limits, and technique has gone out of the window.
hmmm, not the most flexible, but have been told my imagination and inventiveness are much appreciated
Iam not learned either but I like to dance for myself to just feel good
oh, me too, flosey. Ages ago when I was in Greece for a whole summer to help friends work on their home, we did a lot of dancing. Just ad lib, after dinner, and the oldest geezers in the village were the best dancers!
lol, both good things to have joso
ah sprite, what fun
and no doubt your gentleness and attentiveness too, joso.
it was. Beautiful people.
Hey Rose how was the new resturant
daughter and bf coming over this weekend - they're going to make us a big Greek 'Thanksgiving' feast
oh how lovely!
they were recently in Greece so will get her to teach us how to dance
awesome, pugs. food was delicious, as promised, and the serves were more than adequate.
oooh that sounds good
tnx sprite, but lets not get into too much detail here. Been to Greece too, sailing into Thiera blew me away
I wish you lots of fun, flosey!
that was nice for you and don
thanks sprite, always is with my kids
*grins* our joso is modest. Will let you off the hook, don't worry :) Wow, sailing in Greece, sounds like a great experience.
I wish you the same too Flosey
thanks pugs
rose, am glad. A good memory to last you for a bit.
it was, 4 weeks of sailing from island to island
oh wow, joso, that would be heavenly
you are lucky to have had those times with your dad, Joso
we loved Greece
everyone should have a dad who retires to a sailboat in the med
wonderful memories, joso
wish mine retired to Pluto
he can take his sailboat if he likes :)
you are most generous, sprite
*grin*
oh heck, can't believe I had such trouble finding such a simple word as fr6/30 - especially since being surrounded by them
*giggle* flosey, the gerund finish gets a good workout tonight, as does the top s
thiera is an active volcano, last blew some 5 or 6 thousand years ago. used to look like fuji but now is a ring with a couple of gaps and and island in the middle, it is matt black and looks like fresh asphalt with steam rising from it. they figure it ended the Minoan civilization when it blew.
Iam stuck at 112 and my mind has closed off I think
so very beautiful, joso. Must have been frightening back then, but impressive now.
lol pug, same spot... 112 left and nowhere to go. Go grab yourself (and me) another coffee and we will get our second wind.
ah, coffee sounds so good, but not at this hour
I was sitting here thinking I would love some chicken and dumplings--lol
okay Sprite will do--cream and sugar?
ok, that would work for me too, lol. And flosey, I guess not... you will want to sleep at some point.
nope hun, black as my soul please
no black in your soul sprite
NOw thats way way far from the truth Sprite
took the words right out of my mouth
Flosey I got some decaf
a very black sense of humour at the very least
I dont see anything black about you at all
knowing this and sailing into the ring leaves quite an impression. there is a little museum there with copies of of the times from the 20's when it was acting up. an english reporter was there sending back reports about the possible soon to be eruption, didn't blow in any big way, but ya read this things and wan to scream at the guy 'GET OFF THE FRICKING ISLAND YOU GIT'.
thanks pugs, but I like coffee strong, will wait until morning
neither do i pugs. sprite i see you in such beautiful colours, they are blindingly beautiful.
lol, joso...
wow... thank you... not sure I deserve that, but it is a beautiful compliment. Will take it with me today :)
joso, amen to that!
wish I were a volcano... imagine being able to lie on your back in the sun all day, smoking, and everyone who sees you will say: "Look, it is working!"
write it down, sprite, hold it in your hand.
will do, rose... thank you
like those reporters that strap themselves to a light pole on the beach when a hurricane comes, but 100x worse
*chuckling* hmmmm, nah...not going back to that...
the lengths to which some people go for a story, joso... scary.
I read a story once about this woman that had died for a few minutes and she had experence going to heaven and the picture she painted into words were so beautiful--I have never forgotten that--but to make a long story short-she seen everything singing in harmony before the Lord. Like each petal of a flower and each drop of water.
back in the days when I still smoked (but rarely), whenever someone exclaimed: "Are you smoking?!?!" I always said: "No, it is my cigaret."
ooohhhh, pugs, that is so lovely. thank-you
wow pug... beautiful image.
good comeback sprite
*grin* Thanks flosey. Am rather fond of those tiny jokes that make people blink for a second or two.
black soul, what are you talking about, what are you smoking sprite. One of the kindest people i know, never thought you were thick before sprite. what a weird blind spot to have.
like, do you smoke after intercourse? i don't know, will have to look next time...
rofloolllllll rose!
do you smoke after intercourse? depends how good it was
*smacks hand* naughty rose....did that come out aloud?
well, did you? lol
aw joso, thanks dear man. Let's just say that it is hard to see yourself that way when both your parents couldn't see anything good in you.
oh I love it, rose. That is a great one.
used to do so, just smolder nowadays...lol
yea, no shaking the parents opinion, even when you know its wrong, etched into your makeup.
ah Sprite - why oh why do some parents do such things - hubby's mom told him he was unplanned and unwanted - he was the last of 4, 6 years after the 3rd
low self esteem is hard to deal with
oh dear, flosey, what a rotten thing to say.
indeed, however, he lost himself in books, read everything he could get his hands on
I think my parents had low self esteem and I think they done the best they knew how but that only came to me years later in life
hardwired in our synapses, isn't it joso. Ah well, it is a challenge, but see how far we have come!
good grief, flosey. that certainly beats my beloved mother telling me how she 'endured' my father's advances, and later, at my birth, how degraded she felt giving birth to me. no joy, no happiness, and no love.
My youngest brother was an accident, and they really wanted a girl by then, but my folks had the presence of mind not to tell us this until we were grown
yeah, same here, pug. I can understand what they did, mostly. Just doesn't remove the scars. But am learning. I really am.
wow rose, hard to imagine
omg rose, that is just as bad. So so so the wrong things to tell a child.
I only remember my mom saying she loved me and that was not to long before her death
when my children were smaller, I often told them: "If there was a children's store where I could buy each and every child I wished, I would go there and pick and buy the two of you."
once
I hear you, pug. Hearing that once is not nearly enough. But it is worth so much.
that is something your kids will remember sprite
I hope so, flosey.
oh that reminds me of a funny story...
good, let's hear it
joso, when i was expecting my 3rd, i knew he was a boy, and i so wanted a girl. i knew he was going to be the last. but everynight for almost 4 months i gave birth to my daughter, i fed her, i bathed her, i dressed her, and i played with her. when i finally did have my son, i so loved him, i didn't think it was possible. have NEVER regretted that he was a boy.
my folks were not perfect, but I hear stories like rose's and sprites and find it difficult to believe, i don't doubt you but so foreign to me. I didn't realize how lucky we were until much later
you are right but that once is something to carry on with. She herself did not have much of a mother either. Now I can understand so much more then when I was so much younger
a mother who wanted her kids to feel good about themselves, taught her first child that when she would ask him: "Why do I love you so much?" He should answer with: "Because I am John." Then she got a second child and she wanted him to feel just as good about himself. She asked him: "And, George, why do I love you so much?" And George gave her a big smile and said: "Because I am John!"
hehehehehe
lol sprite
you are a beautiful person, pug.
ahh thanks Sprite
*giggle*, sprite
Pugs, sounds like that one time would have been so difficult for your mum to say out loud, worth as much if not more than if she told you every day
hi Chrissie :) Yes, a very precious memory.
thats exactly how it feels Chrissie
I like Mark twains little story. when I was 16 it stuned me how daft my father was, i knew better than him about everything. It amzed me how much he had learned by the time I was 21.
isn't it so true, joso
lollll I love that one, joso. Too true. I hope it will work that way with our son as well.
hello chrissie...and yes pugs, to hear it said with sincerity is worth more than hearing every time with no conviction.
Hi all, just passing through :)
now my dad----lets just say we were like to rams butting heads
hi Chrissie
Hi ya Chrissie
yeah, good quote, joso.
hi chrissy
well, that's different, pugs. why so, do you think?
were you much alike, pug?
My dad was spoilt by his mom, though he had a sister they was 10 years apart. And he thought raising us girls was moms job and we were brought here to be his slaves
argh, that is bad. So sorry, pug :(
And you didn't quite agree
oh, no. not a pretty life, dear one.
glad you had the gumption to stand up for yourself pug, but sorry you needed too.
I was the headstronge type and in my teens we got into a few awful fights cause I didnt bowed, so to say
good for you pugs, you learned early to stand up for yourself
good for you, pug. Good for you.
the sad thing is we girls all left home too early to get away from him
new word for the babble dictionary, something we are doing with eachother: ensib - to take someone as a brother or sister
his abuse was all mental
not an easy start in life, pug. But getting away was smarter than staying and fighting.
true--I hate fighting
mental abuse is just as bad as physical. And it was emotional too.
it takes alot for me to lose it but this red hair does have its truths--lol
ah good! A bit of a fire spitter... that is a good thing to be :)
oh no, redheads, my bane
:) in a good sense, joso?
before their deaths, both got saved so Iam thankful for that
Ive had 3 serious relationships in my life, all with redheads, none ended well. but pug I'm not really serious about the hair colour being the problem. should have put lol at the end of last statement. I think you are great.
ahh Joso you didnt hurt my feelings in the least. I think you are swell too and so sorry red isnt your color but I was gifted with this and not much I can do about it and now Iam too old to care,
I am certain you look beautiful with it, pug.
well, wouldn't say it's not my colour, i seem to reach for it often enough, lol
at one time I had it down to my ---- then about 5 years ago I cut it and I love the short hair. When I was younger I wished for black hair-lol but was afraid if I dyed it I might come out with green or orange
it wouldn't, unless you would bleach it, pug. My hair is almost that long now, something I wished for when I was young but back then it wouldn't grow. But I am turning sooooo gray!
I think every woman wants a different hair colour at some point in their lives
oh yes, joso. I have (sorry) often dyed it red. Auburn. Chestnut. The works.
my hair was always so thick and natural curly too. I was worried that if I cut it I would have a frizz ball on top.
At one point I wanted black hair too, now I just wish it would stay
Ive never dyed mine ever
oh now I am jealous, pug. How lovely to have natural curls!
lol joso. Bald is beautiful. You know what they say... hair won't grow on brains.
since I dont have a camera, I will have to send you a pic and let you see how curly and thick it was
oh please do, pug, would love to see you
I use to dye my hair - as it was changing, now it's all white and I'm content to leave it that way
white is beautiful too, flosey. I wish I was white. Am turning all pepper and salt here. Don't mind, don't get me wrong. It is just so... dignified, if one is truly white.
and I bet you are just lovely too Flosey--but I had you poctured in my mind as a young lady like 30 or 49
ah, mine was sort of chestnut colour when younger
man I cant write too well this morning either--lol
I think flosey is a contemporary of jillibus, am I right?
my hair was pink, once
I love my short hair though. So much easier to deal with
to match your tutu
oh, cool, rose! I wanted blue hair back in my teenager days. Wasn't allowed though :(
i dyed it pink for pink ribbon day, to raise funds for breast cancer day, then i shaved it all off.
oh no, my kids were born in 63, 65, 67, 68, 2 boys then 2 girls
wow awesome, rose. If I ever want to go back to short hair, I will donate mine to wigs for people with cancer.
oh rose, you are so bold, I can't imagine shoving my head
aw flosey... you could have been my mother! Wouldn't that have been great :)
I've considered shaving since my hair has started to depart. so many men only grow a beard after they start to loose their hair and I don't like being a cliche, but I've had a beard most of my life and don't ewant to have to shave every day
me either! but good for you Rose
one year during Fall Fair, a few men shaved their heads so one woman did - to raise money for cure for cancer
you could never be a cliche, joso. Do what feels good to you. And if you have an uncontrollable urge to shave, shave your head :D
i took advantage of that. nowadays i am a delightful silvery-grey. still have the waves and curls of my youth.
I think I'd have enjoyed you as a daughter Sprite
and I, you as a mother, flosey.
sweet, sprite, thanks
oh Rose has natural curls like me!
yea, tnx sprite, perhaps I'll look elsewhere for styling advice.
lol--whys that Joso
yeah, the bane of my life...let them become slightly too long, and i look like a chipmunk, on a bad-hair day..lol
I rather doubt that Rose
it's leaving faster than suits me as it is pug, no need to rush things
oh I love chipmunks.
was your father bald too
pugs, once i too had hair that i could sit on. when i had it cut short, i looked like i had stuck my finger in a power socket.
it was sooo frizzy...everyone kept asking me where i had got the afro curls done...
since Ive gotten older mine is no where nearly as thick. But if I let it get too long I have a frizzy mop head--lol
we call that 'coupe 220V', rose
awww, pugs....sister after my own heart...
and rainly weather---gel dont even help much
lol, sprite....240V here
once i got a job as a security guard, and had to shave my beard for the job. I shaved 1/2 of it off for a day and asked people what they thought, should i keep the beard or shave it off. It took mose people 5 or more minutes before they would say something like... aren't you kind of commited now.
*most
lol--Joso
lol, joso...
roflolllll joso
lol, ok rose, coupe 240V then :)
I guess curly hair has its setbacks as well... I always wanted curls, my hair is as straight as can be.
I bet Sprite has wonderfully straight hair
one of my sons, for movember, shaved off half his mo', as part of a deal for not raising more funds than a work colleague. he worked like that for the next month.he is one great guy...even if i say it myself.
you got no ideal!
wow... he is special, rose
sounds like a keeper rose
brb cup is down to the last drop
gash I hate it when libido is a phantom
sprite, you have no idea how wonderful this young man is. saturday is one of the biggest in our sporting calendar...grand final day for our football teams...his team is playing...and he has given up half the day to help his uncles and aunts clean up the old family home, ready for the new owners next monday.
wow rose... you did a terrific job bringing him up like that. Beautiful.
don't know what i did different with this one...may be it's his genetics? all i know he just keeps on giving.
can he receive as well?
must get to bed now, have slowed to a stop! 101 words for tomorrow
mind you son number 3 is just as loving and giving...
night, dearest flosey. hope you have a lovely sleep.
g'nite flosey, sleep well
goodnight all
sleep well, flosey, and dream even better :)
will do - never remember dreams though
sprite, yes he receives as well. just have to nudge him a tad...LOLOL
Time for me to go too, tnx for the company, been great as usual.
well then all is well, rose. Sounds like he is a wise soul who knows how to keep the flow open, and I know he had a wonderful mother who reinforced that inborn wisdom.
night joso, sleep well, and dream of pretty girls... errr... things.
night Joso and Flosey
have a good one, joso. your harem awaits your pleasure.lol
ah, glad you are back, pug. I have to go... time to get ready and leave for the train. Am going in time so I don't have to hurry or worry about missing a connection. *hugs* to you all and thanks for your support.
remember, sprite...we all love you, and wish you only the best.
Hugs Sprite and know we walk with you
thank you, dear fr6s. That means the world to me. *hugs*
Rose are you done with this grid
yes, my dear. can i help you, with the biggies?
you may if you like--I got 2 of the 8;s a re8(to do with music) and re(to do with wet clothes
de8, a plural, sounds like re7, re + ***can, a metal + c**, a hint
en8, can be a civil or mechanical...begin with the locomotive + **, um, i don't know
got the en8
re8, plural of re7, water plant + gerund finish
darnation! Just got a phone call that my appt with the clinic shrink is cancelled again! That is the 3rd time.
she can't help it, she lost her voice and that makes it hard to have a conversation. But dem.
re8 x 2, one past tense, one plural, of re7, re***a, lining in eye + c**, hint
aww, sprite, re-scheduled?
they are now trying to put my appt with the group leader a bit later, so I can drive home with my love... otherwise it is twice with public transport for me. Tsk.
thanks Rose
rose, they say she will call me next week when she got her voice back... but I will start on Monday with the group. Kind of mustard after dinner, right?
ut8, plural of ut7. u + number after ni4 + Sister-In-Law.
yeah, dearest....

Is a lapsus linguae available at Macys?
hello o-o - what is it?
slip of the tongue
perhaps not
doesn't Macys have everything - especiaslly in their basement
A lapsus calami is a slip of the pen.
“Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.†~John Greenleaf Whittier, Maud Muller - Pamphlet

Hi Judi!
Got a notice for jury duty in the mail yesterday. UHG!
I am scheduled for Oct 23rd.
I've been called 4 times, never made it to an actual jury.
May have to report 10/17. Hopefully I'll be able to skip out.
This will be my 4th time at bat.
That's what I am hoping...but I really would like to be on a jury at some point.
Never been picked. There's something to be said for working at a police department!
Top two rows grayed!!!

Hello TO, how is your s-i-l?
Morning, everyone!
they are tyring to et a med that controls pain so she can go home,
((mimi))
hi mimi
they see dr. on tuesday to discuss treatment
Wow, this long, her discomfort must really be tough. Imagine the biopsy results will be a part of that visit.
((Jilly)) ((TO)) Hope they are able to get her comfortable, TO...so difficult to go through something like this.....been there, done that.
“With an open mind, seek and listen to all the highest ideals. Consider the most enlightened thoughts. Then choose your path, person by person, each for oneself.†~Zoroaster
yes but brother sounded more focused. one very large mass, will use prednisone and chemo
I like that quote!!
and agressive which is better in this case
Good. Is she in a big city where there are lots of services?
I've come to appreciation a combination approach to illness and to life in general...conventional medicine coupled with holistic treatments. Why not avail yourself of every option, right? There's a website for Dr. Mercola that is very helpful with naturopathic information.
yes. bu from what i read, it's not a slam dunk by any means.
Nothing ever is with the human body
I had a friend who had cancer and conventional drs. have given up on her and sent her to hospice where they were just waiting for her to die. She decided, no, not doing this, went to a naturopath who kept her alive, functional and comfortable for another 2 years.
mimi, there is a strong mind body connection that we are just beginning to explore in western medicine.
For the love of God, I cannot think of the doctor's name, but it's the one Robin Williams played in movie...
Patch Adams.
She was able to go back and live along in her apt., go out with friends, shop, and enjoy the remainder of her life.
Patch Adams?
Anyhow, I heard him speak quite a few years ago, and that was exactly his vision, all components of healing are beneficial--all should be used
YES!!!
patch adams! did you hear chrisopher reeves' story about eobin wms visiting him dressed as a dr?
Robin Williams is a total force of nature...what energy.
An audience person took him on for using western medicine...what an answer he gave her!! Wish I'd of taped it...
No, TO I didn't hear that story
he heard a voice say:turn over" and caught a white coat out of the corner of his eye...heard it agan anf thought, you must be kidding - i was robin! they both laughed.
I'm looking for an endocrinologist now so I can finally get my thyroid working again. I've been getting worse by the week. And, as you know, Jilly, since I already have a heart condition, the thyroid problem exacerbates that...not good. Don't have insurance and haven't had the money until now to do anything about it. I'm DETERMINED, though, as I really want to start feeling good again so I can do all the things I want to do.
That was Patch Adams big thing...and all too true...laughter is the best medicine
With the new health care you should be able to access health insurance
well, must go do some chores before heading out. happy babbing, all
Bye, TO!
See you later TO...((hugs))
Lots of gerund endings today!
In Arizona we've had a major battle going on with Medicaid but now I will be able to go on that as of Jan. 1. I haven't explored insurance because (except for hospitalization and such) it seems less expensive for me to just pay as I go for regular office visits.
ACA will change that perspective mimi
Jilly, if you hear of a really good, inexpensive plan, could you please let me know? I haven't really started exploring yet.
There is a website..hang on, let me check
http://tinyurl.com/nhjw9ee
All are dependent upon income, there are tax credits etc
Now, I must head out for the day....have a good one babblers!!
*poof*
Thanks, Jilly...I'll check it out. You have a good one, too.

And diphphicult
lol Chrissie
Hey all :) Can I get a clue for the first re 8/55 please?
You started it :)

Haven't listed, sorry
oh, now I do.. pl the word before it
That's OK. It's my last 8. I'll keep working on it :)

You guys are pretty funny :-) (or should I say phunny...)
Oh, I don't have the word before it. Or the one before that.

Oh perfect Aloy, Thanks!

We're just phooling around sue
but it isn't phriday yet
tee hee
you would have like to have us for students, sue..
liked, i.e.
have had, geez, my grammar.. hope the grammar police are on break
actually I probably would have! at least you would have stayed awake :-)
We'd be babbling under the desk
lol, or behind a physics book
well, I think some of my students did babble under their desks during the more complicated parts
since I'm sure it all seemed like gibberish to them anyway...
think positively, sue.. I'll bet you have taught many some concepts that have been life-altering
in a good way
well, I did run into one of my former students in a clothing store, who told me that I convinced him that he should always wear his seat belt
hooray, see?
and your work is done!
you may retire whenever you wish
lol
hello all
hi peri
Hi peri, hope you are having a better day
I am, thanks, Chrissie
Peri, did you watch The Blacklist?
I watched a little bit of it, Molls.I did not like it.
did you watch it, Molls?
I don't like bombing and killing
Yes, I thought it was amazing.
really? maybe I will give it another chance. why did you think it was amazing?
I don't like bombing and killing either, in real life. In a fictional thriller, I think they are okay.
hi Molly and peri!
hi sue
And Spader was top shelf.
I really do like him
I will watch it next week and she how I feel about it
I'm pretty sure from watching the pilot that it's not going to be a light and fluffy show. If that is not to your liking, you may want to pass.
I don't want light and fluffy so I will give it another try
bye all, have to scoot.. see you next time in BabbleLand!
bye aloy!
and I should go write more problems - bbl!
I want to watch that show. My DVR kicked up a tantrum and didn't record it on Monday. It will be re-aired Sat. night
ty, will watch it then
Let me know what you think after you watch it, Bich.
Did you like it Molly?
I did like it. I thought it was fast paced and well written. Have to see where it goes from episode 1.
We watch the Sleepy Hollow show and thought it was ridiculous, but watched the second episode. That I thought was a bit better, but not to keep us interested
I have watched Sleepy Hollow too. Reviews say it's trying to be another Fringe. I say, no way.
That will never happen
ABC keeps trying to come up with another LOST. They are too dim to realize that LOST was one of a kind.
That's another show i can't see them coming close too. Fringe and Lost are two of my all time favorites. I love suspension of belief
The only TV show that gives me that "can't wait for next week" feeling now is Scandal.
I'm really looking forward to the 3rd season of Homeland. Claire Danes is the best.
Scandal, I have not watched that
I don't get HBO, so I have not seen Homeland. I am thinking of asking for the DVDs for the first two seasons for Christmas.
It's on Showtime, which I do not get. But I have a very dear friend who sends me the DVD's
Oh sorry, wrong premium cable channel.
We watch quite a few things on HBO and don't mind paying for it
hello all
hello all - hello TO
this grid is annoying. but it definintely keeps you busy
hi teach
upset this afternoon with an infestation of stink bugs - has anyone else had this - found a solution
yuck. did youhave a colony inside your home?
don't think so - mainly out on the front porch - just appeared this afternoon - some have gotten in the house
yes, they want to come in from the cold. they can squeeze through the smallest crack
any gn words?
have you had them? how do you get rid of them?
don't have any gn words yet - don't have the list
only one or two odd ones. at least i hope. found three dead ones in my closet light fixture.
No gn words
ty molly.
the tu gerund absolutely can be plural. i protest!
if i have a guitar i can set the tones in many different recognized and named ways.
i agree - the big issue in "dulcimer land" is which of the two major TU 6s - DAA or DAD - do you TU 4 in - this is an important issue
time to go fix a dinner - BBL
i am sorry, tension the strings to produce many different tu6s.
bye teach.
May I please have a clue for any "in" number? Thanks
set ablaze
There is no logic involved in the Enable word list. It's just a collection of favorites thrown together by word geeks.
pl and pt
for FW, a hint for ne 6, pls
Please spay and ne6 your animals.
And I do Molly, ty
FW and to all a good night
good evening everyone:)) just have time now to start the grid and see my babble friends for a bit;)

howdy, hurshy:)
howdy
I agree re: tu6s
Also detu6
mitty is po
walter?
Heya ms hurshy
hi tor :)
who's walter?
mitty. i guess i don't have that tu yet or i would understand what you two are talking about
mitty = mitten my cat
po = pretty
totally unrelated to tu6
Po = pretty???
i'm a little confused, but that's all right.
po = pretty in my own house slang.
i forgot nobody would know what i meant.
my cat just attacked me. she's never done that before. it's unsettling
now i know how my other cat feels.
molly, i just got a really intriguing recommendation for where to stay on the trip next weekend. Bolger conference center in Potomac
sounds nice and reasonable weekend rates, s ince it is primarily a conference center and retreat. and no awful parking fees!
That's great. I don't get over to the high price end of town much. : )
i think $99 or parking and use of the conference center facility is a great deal given the location
the grounds and pool look stunning
hello everyone :)
she may get spritzed when she's overly aggressive. she doesn't mind it much because she likes water, but she gets the message and i don't feel too guilty.
hi cnan
spritzing is a good method
okey dokey, time to start dinner. later, all
i don't like her so vigorously attacking other cat or me. it's so hard to tell if he minds her meanness.
later temple. take care
i do think sometimes he's scared. and she does get a very scary look on her face. my sociopathic girl.
she was left alone in a dark basement for long periods of time when she was small, until i got her at six months.
:(
she was all squinty by the light coming in my windows.
why was this happening
what bad mean people
it's sad, and it's why she's poorly socialized. we work on it.
the woman had been given the kitten but didn't want her. someone rescued her and gave her to me.
my cinder was separated from her mom too early and was also the runt of her litter so she has issues too - skittishness and sometimes pooping outside the box
people should NEVER give animals as gifts!
i agree.
i mean, you wouldn't give, say, an orphaned child as a gift
even if it was legal
thank goodness, no
wow - those ig's just lit up for me ;)
:)
Har dee har, Nan.
in the new edwidge d'anticat novel, a haitian father gives away his seven year old girl.
but presumably to people who agreed to take her, not, "here, surprise!"
the women is not sure she wants her, but I think she's the one who gets her. I just read a little of the book in the library.
struggling with D's
me too!
i get to my doctor by bus and arrive early and go to the library in that town for an hour or so. read around a little
claire of the sea light, edwidge danticat.
it's pretty crazy when you think about how it used to be, like with anne of green gables, just, hey, i want an orphan, and boom, you get one
and they'd wanted a boy.
it's like serfdom
yeah. and like, oops, well, maybe we'll send her back, oh well, maybe not, we'll keep her after all...
but anne grew on them.
and her spirit survived the Mrs always discouraging her from being fanciful.
they grew on each other. and Mr. quietly enjoyed her unique and busy mind.
what a good book.
not mrs.
they were sister and brother
marilla and matthew
oh, I forgot that
matthew was too shy to go courting
novels now, even for young adults, are pretty grueling compared anne, and emily eden, etc.
no not emily eden...
emily of new moon?
emily climbs? by the same author, i forget them.
yes, emily of new moon, emily's quest, emily climbs
yes. I have a collection of early twentieth century young adult novels about girls being educating and starting careers. rebecca in spite of herself.
educated
read long ago
20 left, 8 of them D's
got them all if you want
yeah i'll just get the list
de7/8?

ok that is weird i thought about trying that and then i was like, no, you're just being silly, that's not a word
hahaha joke's on me
need two re 8's. Need re8/65 and last re 8/55
yes - you should know by now
your guitar gets out of whack so you're re8/55 it
Hello just starting. I put a beef stew in the oven and now have time to play. My cold/virus is soooo much better today I think I'll probably live.
your clothes got wet again so you're re8/65 them
ty hursht got the re8/55 great clue now on to the 8/65
since when is stew cooked in the oven?
di7/40 right after the person who's trying to lose weight?
I have an old cast iron Dutch oven. I like to start braising the meat on the stove top and when the water is added, put the whole thing in the oven.
also thanks for the 8/65. both excellent clues. now only need 7/32 for fireworks
gerund Hursh
well it's related to the 8/65
ah thanks lynxxx
ty for the clues. I'm finding lots of good words.
FIREWORKS
Congrats, Matches!!
Congrats Matches!

Oops, missed your earlier post.
My cold is ever so much better! That was more yukiness than I am used to.
Glad you're feeling better. : )

Glad to see such good friends on the chog. We are so lucky here in the sunny but cool northwest. Tomorrow it will be rain but today is picture perfect.

Hi stidg :)
Hi liz. Nice to see you today. Is your spring just beginning? Our fall is looking very colored-leaf, cool nights, popcorn, and cozy.
hello all
Hi TO.
good evening!
Hi TO - Yes Spring is well under way here - except we seem to have gone straight into summer. One night it was pretty cold (by our standards) and now it's pretty warm at night. Day too, of course!
hello all - back again for the evening
are there two king's posses?
Hi wv, I'm back until my potatoes finish cooking.
I miss all the great colours of spring and autumn! In Victoria BC this summer, I photographed so many flowers - reminded me of England!
i have the sinular and the plural, wondering if there is an alt sp re 8
You were in Victoria and we didn't get together? How did that not happen?
nm i have it ty
i am craving a brownie from taco bell. they are cery good.
5 re8's TO, 2 are kings mob varriants
We were with a tour group - went around the Rockies and then a 7 night Inside Passage cruise. Had little time to ourselves!
y i have 5 of them now, though still needing one re. i will leave it to last.
It was an awesome holiday! Took soooo many photos and we are now processing them and making iPhoto books.
Oh, what a nice way to see the country. Aren't the Rockies amazing!! Good for you Lizlin.
wow liz, what a trip! it seems so exotic, when i think of going over there.
We've never done a tour before - really thought it wasn't our thing but it worked out so well. Loved the Rockies. Working on Athabasca Glacier photos now.
were you in us or only canada?
It was "the trip of a lifetime" for us. Met my step mum (lives in the UK) and cousins in Vancouver first and spent 4 days with them.
Touring around Canadian Rockies - then Alaska is US.
Cousins from Alberta - so it was great to meet up.
Any clues for di 7 / 40 - the word after the person losing weight, please?
Gerund form of that word
ty Molly - could've sworn I tried that!!!

-ing (1) suffix attached to verbs to mean their action, result, product, material, etc., from Old English -ing, -ung, from Proto-Germanic *unga (cf. Old Norse -ing, Dutch -ing, German -ung). Originally used to form nouns from verbs and to denote completed or habitual action. Its use has been greatly expanded in Middle and Modern English. -ing (2) suffix used form the present participle of verbs, from Old English -ende (cf. German -end, Gothic -and, Sanskrit -ant, Greek -on, Latin -ans). It evolved into -ing in 13c.-14c.
** finito ** last word BI 5/14
congrats teach
Fireworks - last word in 5 / 14 and congrats wvt :)
and congrats to liz as well
ty
A gerund is a verb form ending in -ing that functions in a sentence as a noun. Although both the present participle and the gerund are formed by adding -ing to a verb, note that the participle does the job of an adjective while the gerund does the job of a noun. Compare the verbals in these two sentences: The children, crying and exhausted, were guided out of the collapsed mine. Crying will not get you anywhere. Whereas the participle crying modifies the subject in the first sentence, the gerund Crying is the subject of the second sentence.
congratsd liz

an approximate idea how far it is from greenbelt to the GW are of DC?
Hello dan2bit! How are you doing today? Welcome to chog
hello all
Hi
I would guess about 45 minutes by car, perhaps 30 on the subway
ty/
GW is the west end of downtown, Greenbelt is a northeastern suburb, so you must cross over, which is always a bit tricksy
time of day will play a factor. on the subway, you must change trains at L'Enfant Plaza
we are planning a weekend trip., some friends are lookin for a place to stay near greenbelt. then moving to bethesda. i think they may use the bolger center for that.
Hi Owll
it is a beatiful time to visit. September & October is our best weather imo
last year it rained and was freezing cold. no heat in the spanish ballroom. :/
hi herin
have you heard of bolger center? fantastic rate weekend.

That would do it.

We have had to drag out the column heater
How many columns do you have to heat?

She's a mix, but I think she's got some Maine Coon in her, tufts of fur on her ears and between her toes and a little chirping voice.

Chirping sounds like Burmese of some sort.
i don't know why, how is a colour gerunded?
because everything else in this grid is?
ah, missed that
infallible logic, lol
Babble Rule - Always add S, Ing, Ed, Ings to every single word
