Hi ya Joso
hi pug, hows life
pugs, how's the head, hun? still pain free? and cooee joso
okay for me but Rose and Ru are sending out stinky wind
g'day rose
No, Rose got the pain but its nothing new
lolol, mine smell like roses....don't you know?
awww, poor pugs. thought it might be giving you a break.
oh I just bet it does--lol
well, when you get into it some have some very odd sexual turn ons, best to close the door and let rose and ru do as they wish

LOLOL, it's take-away night as don is going away for a few days tomorrow. very important discussion going on here.
Joso, have you talked to k since your email? Is it any better
oh yeah I just bit there is Rose :)
you have to get it right, pugs. if you are gonna shell out the bucks, it has to be exactly what you want.
no, asked a few questions but haven't heard or seen from her since. I get the feeling she is not too interested in a fight and would rather say away, a pity but her choice.
so you got to pay DH now to get just what you want? lol
thats too bad Joso
hmmmm, better leave that one alone, don't you think??
would be wise, but that's never stopped you before
hey, you don't know how many times i have had to sit on my hands....lol
is that to pre-warm them?
brb--coffee
ooohh, pugs, naughty girl....how did you guess?
has it ever struck you as odd that god would feel the need of the extra prestige of a doctorate?
must admit, joso. have not given that much thought....*giggle*
seems like icing on top of icing
yeah, but a doctorate in what? theology?
being god, maybe all the doctorates, showing restraint by not calling himself Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. God
lol...
All geared up for your fortress of solitude, or concentrating on a good sendoff for DH
second option first, then once i send him off, and stop doing handstands and cartwheels...i will think about everything i'm gonna not do.
back! Is he leaving tonight or tomorrow
good morning all :)
hi sprite
MORNING SPRITE
I think Dr. God is very much tongue-in-cheek
DH is leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow. he rides over to his mate's place, for breakfast, then when they have cleaned up, the 4 of them will ride down to the island
hi pug and joso *hugs*
SPRITEY!!! HUGS AND KISSES
hiya rose! Free weekend approaching? ;)
got your email, hun. trying not to step on therapists toes. please let me know if i do.
sweetie, talk freely to me, please! I am the only one who has to watch my therapists' toes. You just give me a piece of your mind :)
soooo looking forward to th4 weekend. i will miss DH like hell. it will be good for both of us.
yeah, and such a happy reunion afterwards
hmmmm, which bit would you like??
the craziest part of course
roflol, oh yeah, sprite
oh, have finished reading pride and prejudice. Delightful!
oh that reminds me I started your book Rose
speaking of books, pug, up to where do you have 'our' series complete?
sprite, one of the reasons i do th4 for him, is because for all the rest of the year, all he does is take of his mum, and his constant companions are female. he needs some good solid male company.
Iam on the 5th one
uh oh, dinner here
enjoy, hun
okay Rose, enjoy
bbl. *dives at DH *
pug, I mean which is the last one you own?
enjoy rose, I'm ambling off myself
bye joso, have a lovely day *hugs*
Iam starting the one of wulf and its my last until I order more
bye Joso
ok, thanks :)
Iam going to get that very first one and then hope to find another set like I did these
oh... I think wulf is the book that is parallel to that of talon. So funny to read things from the other end.
did you find my facebook page
I didn't look yet, sorry pug. Things are kind of messy here. Son is acting up again.
np Sprite. I sent you a friends request
very funny card btw :)
ah perfect, thank you
I really liked the story about Z@A
thanks, I thought it was cute too
am so glad you are enjoying them. Z is a darling, isn't he :)
He wasent until you read his story. I have kind of forgotten who wulf is
I though I would start Roses books because I wont be able to order anymore until after x-mas
he doesn't figure big. Talon is talking with him on the telephone, the chat about him just having his coffee and then having to run off to save the day.
they will keep :) And it gives you a chance to dive into Rose's books, sounds like you will enjoy those very much.
I hope! They are big books too! But I do like stories like those--do you
history books, right? No, not really. But my husband loves them.
Sprite, do you just read from your ereader or do you still hold a book
well its history but written as a fiction story(kind of like Roots)
both. I love the feel of a book. But the e-reader is incredibly handy (and light) and gives me access to a practical endless reading list.
practically*
I knew you had the reader just wasent sure you still read from real books too. Was the book you just read good?
very. A classic novel by Jane Austen. Very oldfashioned and fun.
I might have to give it a try after I get my list down
so whats next on your reading list
I think you will love it. Since you so enjoyed the matchmaker books.
am reading book one of the Dresden Files, by J. Butcher. So far it is fun.
Havent heard of that
it's urban fantasy. Harry Dresden is a wizard who is a detective. Kind of Marlowe meets Buffy.
oh, sounds interesting
I enjoy a touch of humor in stories
yes, I think you will like them too. We will make sure you get them once you got an ereader.
oh yes, so do I. lovely reading when there is a smile in there somewhere.
Have you ever read the barefoot bride? Its an old romance story but full of humor
no, will write it down, thank you :)
does your other family members like to read too
Morning everyone xx
think I found it as an ebook. Sounds like a fun read
morning worzel
Morning Spritexx
morning worzel
morning Puglet - forgive me if i'm in and out this morning i'm unwell xx
and i am back, with a very full tummy. *contented sigh*
hey worzel. what's the problem?
great! WB Rose
my daughter is just as avid a reader as I. My son usually finds it too much work to read, but once he starts a book, it can totally captivate him. My husband is more into technical books. Like about wood, or how to build a canoe, or history books.
wb rose *tickles her full tummy*
ah sorry to hear that Wor
hi granny. well, i've got a doctor appointment in an hour which is unusual for me - i've seen a dr once in about 20 years! Have severe stomach cramps which i THINK is trapped wind. Have tried everything but it's keeping me up at night and as a final resort am trying the doctor
i feel like a puppy or kitten which has over indulged...and i probably have.
awww, poor worzel. stomach cramps are the worst. there is no amount of rubbing, massaging which helps.
that can be very painful Wor. Iam sure the doctor will help you ----funny Rose was suffering something like that, but hers wasent trapped-lol
have tried almost boiling water, rennies, mints, mint tea, camomile tea, yoga (which my gf tells me helps) All I really want to do is let off a really big one, if you pardon the expression! (Sorry lol) x
rose is our overindulging, hot fluffing darling
walking does help sometimes with that kind of problem until you get to the doc
worzel, i could suggest a mixture of mylanta and peppermint water. used it with midwifery patients post-caesarian.
pugs, that's horses dear.
not heard of mylanta i'll give it a go if doctor can't help. thanks rose xx
Sprite, her and Ru were fluffing earlier
worzel google it....then ask your pharmacist. it's the combo which works so well.
fluffing again? Tsk. And we thinking her a lady and all.
well Rose it does help people too--lol
thank you all for making me laugh though cos when you said fluffing i had something completely different in my head to what you're probably talking about (giggles guiltily . . .)
a lady??? who came in??
*grin* Rose, me gal, I love you to pieces.
oh good...so glad we have one on the team...* bats eye-lashes*
eeek - think i've rubbed off on me dog - he's voming now! brb
ooo well done, the batting :)
ahh poor Wor--when it rain it pours
raining cats and dogs even...
probally twitches with the eyes-lol
how big's the longest word please guys? x
8 letters. 4 of 'm
Worzel -- Mylanta is a brand name, American (don't know where you are in the world). It's an antacid; a combination of calcium carbonate and magnesium hydroxide to relieve indigestion, upset stomach, and heartburn.
hi jwr
ty sprite
hi sprite
I usually drink baking soda water myself in times like those and it helps me
Hi Jwr
im in uk jwr but we do have products similar to Mylanta but not the product itself. Seriously, though, you name it i've tried it. Think I'll stick a funnel in and see if I can syphon it out. Ooooo I shouldn't laugh, it hurts!
laughing might shake it loose
ok i best go get ready for my big adventure to the doctor's. You lot behave and look after each other xx
th4 grid seems to close up hermitically at the halfway point
or rolling on the floor or jumping up and down
sorry Wor, know its not funny
get well soon, worzel
take care Wor and hope you get well
ho puglet, worz. Your local pharmacist is your best bet -- the problem with your problem is that the "cure" can cause another set of difficulties so the more relief you can get naturally (walking, light massage, burping from orifices, etc.) the better off you will be.
very true, jwr. I would advise against rennies, for one. Often the remedy is worse than the illness.
I had a friend with a problem like that and He had a bowel blockage and had to drink a gallon of this nasty chalky stuff
but it did its thing! Good cleansing out--lol
i could suggest a barium enema, that works really well.
lol! Well a bowel blockage can easily be fatal, so am glad it worked
did rose just really use the words 'enema' and 'really well' in one sentence???
lolol...yup
arggghghg! Stuff for nightmares.
its cold here this morning. Got my sweats on,housecoat and hooded sweatshirt and heavy socks too
when my retrograde pyelogram went pear-shaped * read surgeon injected dye too hard and perforated my kidney* i had a paralytic ileus.
not a pretty picture Rose
oh sounds cozy! My morning robe is not dry yet from washing it... am making do with real clothes and not enjoying it :)
Now you are talking like OO
day 3 the docs decided to do a special x-ray using barium. on the x-ray table the peristalsis started again, and the sluices opened.
ok I had to read that twice. pyelogram? Some medical procedure which involves an injection with dye no doubt. Paralytic... lame? Ileus... some tiny joint in the hip/back area?
dont mean nothing by that OO if you are out there lurking
I've learned to be very wary of most OTCs (over-the-counter) products, including self-prescribed enemas. Like so-called antibacterial products that can do a great deal of harm by removing the skin's natural protection (water and rubbing will do the trick). Sounds like a doctor is wanted at this point before you get exhausted.
amen to that, jwr.
pyelogram, x-ray of renal pelvis. paralytic, paralised, ileus, loop of bowel
lol pug... o-o sounds like he is highly intelligent because he actually is highly intelligent. And often very much tongue-in-cheek.
anymore they very rarely give enemas here at the nursing homes
rrrrrright, got you! Very very uncomfortable, rose. Both the illness and the examination.
yeah I know Sprite and Rose thinks us(or me) can understand all those large doctoring words
grin, indeed. Well, I am not afraid and ask and appear stupid.
sounds like a twisted gut like thing that horses gets
you will never appear stupid, dear ones. and pugs, you are very close.
ok this is going nowhere. I think I am gonna be a lazy lady and use Lickety today.
the stupid ones don't ask, and try to appear as if they know what you are talking about.
Iam not crazy for this grid today either
well talking about enemas it had to come from the behind somehow
lol true, rose. Am not much for pretending anyway... better ask a stupid question than blurt out a stupid opinion based on not knowing what I am talking about.
youre funny Sprite
sprite, there is no such thing as a stupid question. just a stupid answer.
;)
rose, as they say, there isn't such a thing as a stupid question. Just stupid people.
here early Rose and Ru were on windy things and then later on Wor comes with the same problem--how strange
oh, and this one: better to hold your tongue and appear stupid, then open your mouth and prove it.
random facts of synergy, pug, grin.
lol..so true sprite
Is Wor a he or she
who knows? But I think a he.
Do you have an idea of how much good information goes on this chog? It's about time you got together to e-publishs: The Babblers' Book of Home Remedies, Recipes and Emotional Support; How to Clue in Pun; English as She is Spoke and Spelt; Liking Lickety; . . . .
lol jwr! Brilliant!
lol, jwr...what an idea....
SURE IS!
I made a start with collecting new babble words and a list of babblisms in my profile, jwr.
Hi all :)
hey, jwr, you want the job???
hi Liz :) *hug*
good day Liz
... How to Discover Gender, Country of Origin, Age, Sexual Preference, and IQ from a gray, featureless icon.
oh, liz, so glad to see you, hun. saw all the fires on the news. all you and yours safe?
26 to go here but got diverted with photos! We've almost finished the last photo book from our holiday.
*giggles* I love it, jwr
We're fine Rose - no fires here at the mo - not even the smell of smoke BUT it is incredibly dry. Thanks for asking!
awesome, Liz!
I do hope you stay safe Liz
must be scary, the constant threat of fire
One book's been printed (Vancouver), the 2nd is on it's way and I've got 2 days left of Alaska.
I think I seen on here earlier that diz was getting smoke near her
Not I, Rose. It's the teaching background: the one who gives out the assignments doesn't have to do them.
he hehehehehe
It's never been that close to me - to my hubby when he lived in Victoria. We do sometimes smell smoke and have seen it in the distance - it's not nice at all.
sprite, we live with it over here. early in december is when we usually start packing up whatever we want to save. but this year in NSW it has started so much earlier.
Thanks for the thoughts and wishes and Pug's right. Diz said that the sun was obliterated by smoke.
jwr, may I ask where you are from and if you are a he or she
lolol...jwr
lots of prayers and good thoughts needed overthere then
Winter here is worse for us usually. We're further north and the summer is usually the rainy season but we've only had one real day's rain since the beginning of August.
Rose, please can you clue the go 7? Thanks
Or sprite or anyone!!!!
Good luck, Liz. If you're smelling the smoke, you might consider a filtration mask. These days, smoke is as bad as fire - at least smoke from an urban (human) conflagration. Contains so much toxins.
I wish. I have the whole of one 7 and one 8 so far. Neither is go :(
is there alot of woods and grasses to burn by you guys
Good thought jwr -thanks
go + **eta, greek letter + **ch, scratch it for relief + vowel
Yes pugs
yes pugs
ok thanks rose. that is an odd one.
thanks rose - I'd been playing with that combination - I used morewords for the go 8.
just at the end of our road is a large national park. all australian natives.
actually it is a very common word, as common as dust, almost literally: a red or yellow or brown mineral; an oxide of iron that is a common constituent of rust
Eucalyptus trees are full of oil and burst into flames very easily and there are loads of them around. We've also got national park near us.
eg7, someone who thinks they are better than most.
in 8 - between kings!
which is why they are called the blue mountains and the blue dandenongs, liz
25 left. Back to photos I think. Good to catch up. BBL. Hugs!
di8, dig up a dead body
Yes, Rose. i didn't mention the blue mist that hangs around!
is it the same park between you guys
enjoy, Liz! Have fun.
bye Liz
No - totally different area. I'm a 2 hour flight from where Rose lives.
pug, yo - whoops, gotta go -
thanks for the biggies
go8, go + ***er, an old anaesthetic + same ending as go7
bye jwr
bye Jwr
sh8, someone who gathers the sh5, soft shelled seafood
nice one, thanks
st7, s + someone who tinges with colour
lol--at first I thought you were refering to poopie Rose
wr7, past tense of to apply pen to paper
rose, that st7, could you please dummy it down for me?
okay, hun. st + opposite of out + ***m, part of the school year
ah, thank you, now I get it. Totally misread your clue.
Sprite I wanted to say Iam sorry that T is acting up again. I know it must make family life depressing to say the least
thanks pug. Yes it is rotten. Didn't sleep much last night... at midnight my love thought it smart to tell Tim he still had to wash the dishes, and Tim thought it smart to start yelling and banging the door shut about 5 times. Am seriously stressed about it all.
I can understand why you would be! Holding you in my thoughts
:)
Hope the door is still on its hinges--LOL
sprite, still trying to work out how to advise you, if at all. am very aware of the therapists involved.
haven't checked. It was the door of Tim's room, so if it isn't, he is out of luck.
lol, sprite. good attitude...let him live with the consequences..ie no privacy
Thats how I would see it too
rose, honey, please, forget about them. I am much more interested in your point of view. Speak freely, please, and trust me to balance things out therapywise.
exactly. Am done with him. Goodwill has evaporated with this new outburst of aggression and attitude. Am going to call the therapist today and see if they can beat some sense in him.
okay. *takes deep breath* is there any possibility of T moving out? is there a payment of some kind he could receive from the government, which would help him to pay for his accommodation?
not yet, rose. But when he is 18, yes, I think so. Don't know about the payment thing, but he wants to go study chemistry. He could find a room with other students, I guess.
over here, if students can cite irrevocable differences at home, the government helps them to find a safe place to live.
ah yes, we have something like that as well. If we can't get through this with the youth prevention team, that will be the next step. They are there to prevent it from being necessary as much as possible.
well, take it, hun. i had to humble myself and admit that my eldest could not live with me.
if this continues, I don't see another way either, rose. Heartrending as it is.
sometimes the kids need to move out and fend for themselves in order to realise what they have lost.
my eldest was home again within a year, lolol
indeed. They think it is all fun and roses out there. They haven't a clue how protected and comfortable they are while still living at home.
must unlurk to say hi all, and (((hugs))) to sprite, I sympathize so much. our son just whooshed through the house a half hour or so ago, insisting drunkenly that we should let him in Hubby's shop for more beer. we both refused, so we figure he probably "broke in" and helped himself by now. wish he'd move out... he's 22 now.
awww, rbud. hugs hun
omg rbud, how awful :( ((((hugs)))) to you as well.
it was about 3:15 AM... sigh... so I'm up
i so feel for you all going through th4. it is a right-of-passage to manhood. im sorry, gals. but it seems the man child is the same the world over.
he's not too bad when he's sober, but man, when he's not, it's rough. not unlike most drunks.
good morning
soooo like his dad... yet they both don't agree when I point it out
hiya, ruby! :)
g'day ruby
some girls are horrible too, rose. Not mine, but some.
I'm glad some friends are here//1
{{rosie}}
hi ruby :)
{{rbud}}
{{sprite}}
can't you ask him to move out, rbud?
{{little pugs}} still here?
you'd think a kid who watched his dad be a rotten drunk most all his young life would aspire to be different.
very true, rbud. But somehow it doesn't work that way. Very frustrating :(
so agree, sprite. i was an absolute b***h. it was my training which helped me to grow up and mature.
sure, we ask him several times a day. he and his girlfriend bought a little trailer and plunked it on the edge of the property, against our preferences.
oh rose, hard to imagine you being bi***y.
sprite, all those hormones, and a narcissistic mother...
sounds like they don't respect you at all, rbud.
she's a sweet kid, don't know how she puts up with him. works two jobs and hopes he'll change... sounds like me.
well good for you, rose! I was a mess at that age. All bitterness and fright.
oh, it was supposed to be only for a couple of weeks, and now they're winterizing it, lol!
It sounds t me still, that Tim needs to be in an in-patient facility until they sort out some meds for him. His sporadic violence sounds dangerous for him and for your whole family. That's Nel sticking her big nose in. Sorry
it sounds like he's waaaay beyond talking
they try to hold out as long as possible, ruby, in order to prevent him having a label when growing up. But yes, talking doesn't seem to work.
it's actually sorta better than it used to be, ours used to break windows and smash doors quite often. he's quit that, at least.
I think Tim isn't that vandalistic, rbud, thank God. But he seems to have so much rage inside of him. Don't know where it comes from.
rbud, sounds like my youngest who suffered from oppositional defiant disorder. the arguments we had...
we don't have much in the way of in-patient stuff here any more, it all closed down. now they only have rehab and jail.
sort of after-the-fact mopping up stuff :(
sprite, it's called testosterone. come to think of it, has his levels been checked?
yup, I've heard that term applied to our son. and adhd, and bipolar...
no... will keep that in mind, rose. Will ask.
back==our electic went out for some reason/ Hi Ruby and rbud
rbud, do you have access to a good psychiatric unit. it was the only thing which straightened out my boy.
{{pugs}}
and manic depressive, and... and... nothing really fits. I figure he's just a mouthy opinionated kid, myself.
nope, like I said, they closed most all that down these days. he's been in rehab for extended stays twice, got lots of good counseling, but it doesn't stick.
it can be helpful to have a diagnosis, but only if it really fits.
no, dearest, rbud. he is a young man crying out for help. ask some questions yourself, find out what is available. i will bet my last dollar, he is not happy with what is happening to him.
extend your circle of research, rbud. there has to be some where, someone who can help him. it maybe in another state.
Oh, I know he says he's not happy, but then he is, and he's cheery enough when he's cooking up something good for he and his girl to eat - at 4 AM - or working on some mechanical project - very good at that kind of stuff.
the mood swings are very typical of a hormone imbalance.
we've been around and around about it over the years, been dealing with this since he was about 11 or 12... no luck. He's 22, too old for medical card, so no money for treatments, and he's fed up with all that, anyway.
Iam heading out, our electric is flickering so hugs to you all
well both times he is using the creative side of his brain....not the logical. that is quite usual.
oh, dear, pug, good luck and hugs
see you tomorrow dear pugs.
bye little pugs, ight a candle!
yes, and he was quite obsessed with his band for years, but they've folded up now. He's very intelligent, but easily bored.
rbud, could you do some research on the internet. type in his symptoms, see what comes up. find out if there is a natural remedy. he might be more open to that.
many american companies have affordable natural remedies. i know. i use them.
they say kids learn by example, but I read a lot, worked full time for years, don't drink, etc. - and neither of our kids reads or works... one's too fond of drinking, the other - well I worry about her, too.
low frustration tolerance maybe as well. Not easy, rbud.
I was often told by his counselors that he was probably self-medicating by using pot, and I tend to agree - he was always agreeable and mellow then. (I know a stoned person when I see them, lol)
but of course that's illegal still, and has all the stigma attached, which I don't agree with, but am tired of caring whether it's legal or not, I was loudly for its legalization way back in the '70s and gave up.
we are so lucky to have each other, both for advice and for sounding boards. Sometimes our various shared experiences help, too, even though we've all gone through different things with our kids
still think it's silly to lock up stoned people and use our tax monies to "fight a war" against it. Any other drugs, yes, fight away, but who really cares any more about pot? it beats being a drunk, in my observations over the years.
absolutely, rbud!
amen to that, rbud
have to go deal with poor old Burt
wish my old man had been a devoted stoner instead of a violent drunk, would have been much more pleasant.
see you later, kids
good luck, ruby *hug*
stoners never hurt anybody, they just eat a lot and go to sleep very mellow
s'long and (((hugs))) ruby
I wish I could give some to But or at least some Xanax. Maybe he'd feel better
yup, exactly. and they don't start violent bar fights, or climb towers and shoot folks...
and if they do, they can't aim very well...
rofl!!!
what can I say, my ancient grampa smoked dope, I know he did, I recognized the smell years later. he was a mellow fellow. I just don't see the harm.
ruby, cookies, dear, bake him some marijuana cookies. he will love the taste, and you will love the effect.
grampa was of the generation that grew hemp as a cash crop, he once said "there's nothing more relaxing than standing downwind from a good hemp fire" and I never forgot it. I was about 9 when I heard him say it.
only figured it out much later on.
yes, smuggle it into his food, ruby! hubby has a cousin who puts "green" butter on everything, swears by it!
grows it all himself. according to those who indulge, it's of the finest quality. the man is near 70 and has been growing it for 50 years.
well, enough from me. and it's all quiet here now, yay.
thank God, rbud. I hope it stays that way. And I also hope you will find a way to have him move out and give you more peace in the home.
he and the girlfriend are working on it. they've applied for housing near where she works, and near her mom, too, so we have our fingers crossed.
only about 15 miles away, but it's a start.
fingers, toes and bowels crossed :)
we keep telling her he's her problem now, she just giggles.
yeah, a good start. And then change the locks so he can't walk in on you anymore.
locks? we haven't used those in a long time, haha.
lol, that is unimaginable for me. Such a different way to live.
he'd be up a ladder and in an upstairs window in a hearbeat, anyway, he and his friends did that for years.
"heartbeat", oops
oh dear... not good
they jokingly called it the "escalator"
in and out, in and out, all night long. I much prefer them visiting him way out on the edge of the property like now.
I couldn't do it, rbud. Would hate to have no say in my own home. I admire your patience.
yes, we have lost control, ever so long ago. resigned to it. well, I am, hubby still has a fit pretty much daily. does no good.
I couldn't. Would drive me batty.
if I really rant and rave, though, both kids go into a sort of shock and behave, start cleaning and being polite. they know if I'M mad, it's bad news. ;)
hehehe :)
cause I'm usually the easy-going one.
poor hubby...they have some much difficulty recognising that their son and heir is flawed. DH is the same...he has only recently accepted that his son has aspberger's.
isn't that the truth! my hubby didn't expect a son who doesn't worship his every word and do everything the way he wants, and right the heck now! he just doesn't believe life could be so unfair as to give him such a kid.
lol, you two
I still think the day will come when they'll come to some sort of mutual respect, or at least I hope so. ever the optimist, me.
lolol, rbud, i presented my then hubby with 3 very individual and independent sons...i guess its no wonder he(hubby) reacted in such a violent way to the boys.
sprite, you learning anything, here?
we don't expect Tim to comply with our every wish and we don't need him to be a copy of either of us. But just a bit of civility and respect would be appreciated. And carrying his share of the load too.
not really, rose, except that we are not alone iin our struggles... which is a very comforting thought.
when i think on it...when i let fly, all 4 took off for the hills, so to speak...
my ex doesnt have anything to do with our son.doesnt like that he is an addict. ironic becus he was a drug enforement deputy. but has no patience to deal with his own son. i know this is part of my sons problem even though he wont admit it
yeah... usually when I get really mad, people listen, even Tim. But I can't go through life being really mad all the time.
darling, if you can, let Tim go...he desperately wants it.
that is so painful, ivesy. I can understand keeping him at a distance so he can't harm you and yours. But not wanting to have to do anything with him... it is still his son, right?
ives, my heart goes out to you. i didnt have to deal with addiction in a major way.
the effect is lost if you use it too much, anyway, sprite, as has happened to hubby - no one listens to him any more, when he's mad, we just sidestep away and tune him out.
still his son yes.. so hurtful.. i saw his bio on line and it says he has one son... the way he and his present son adopted.. i never told jay that
if he wants to move out, rose, I will let him go
omg ivesy... so sad.
present wife adopted that is. major headache today cant see sstraight lol
rbud, lol. Yeah, that is exactly what happens if you overuse it. Plus it is bad for blood pressure and all.
*gentle hugs and butterfly kisses* ives, sorry that you have so much pain.
*sending healing vibes to ivesy*
ives, i know it hurts, hun. my own eldest has decided his father's second wife is his mother. i do not count.
ty..sometimes feels good to get it all out. been just me and jay for so long...i never gave up.many times i wanted to but i held on.. now he is clean and sober, taking a class at community college and looking for a job.. hasnt used in 4 months
so sorry granny.. that really sucks.
good for him, ivesy. One day at a time.
yay, you ives, and to your son...
he doesn't realise how much he is missing out on, rose. He really doesn't.
ives, dont get me wrong. i give thanx every day for my other two sons.
i have been looking up effect of lavenar oil for headaches.. think i may try it..sound soothing
he doesn't realise how much he is missing out on, rose. He really doesn't.
have been looking into lavendar oil for the headaches. think someon here mentioned it
i have been looking up effect of lavenar oil for headaches.. think i may try it..sound soothing
ives, don't get me wrong. i give thanx every day for my other two sons.
what the heck
he doesn't realise how much he is missing out on, rose. He really doesn't.
chog froze for a bit
well wouldnt let me write. lol.. glad to see it wasnt me lol
it won't hurt, that is for sure, ivesy. Easy to try.
i would like to kick my exes ass lol.. push it in his face look how far your son has come.. what an ahole
oh are kids.. what they put us through. we werent like that growing up
he sounds like a son to be proud of, ivesy. At least he realised he was going the wrong way and is trying to do something about it.
I was, gave mom fits, dared to leave the yard at 16, moved out at 17, she insisted I must be a drug addict since I didn't behave.
fireflies. I have to be off, am trying to contact the therapists to see if anything can be done before the weekend. *hugs* and I hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.
have a good day sprite!
yeah, ives, know exactly where you are coming from...and i know you won't do it...for your son's sake..your son wants the acclamation from his daddy on his daddy's accord.
i was a hellion in high school.. a catholic high school yet lol
hugs and good luck, hope things calm down
WTG SPRITE!!!!
I always heard those Catholic girls were wild ones! ;)
lollol.... we were ..
and every preacher's kid I ever knew were crazier than the rest of us, too.
rbud are you the director of the lbirary where u live
yes, it's a tiny one, but I try.
just got done submitting yet another grant application, I do what I can.
sounds like you are making great strides. we are waiting for the budget to see what they cut this year.... last year we had to cut some hrs that we were open
sounds like my boss.. doing grants all the time. they cut our computer funding last year.. had to let the people teaching go
okay, have taken my meds...xoxox to you all. see you at the flip
gosh, there are only two of us working here, and we're only open about 18 hours a week as it is. would hate to have to cut much out.
I do most of the helping with computers myself, the locals don't ask for much, just want to know how to get email accounts and look for jobs, or are taking a few online classes.
((((hugs)))) and kisses, g'rose, take it easy! :)
*poof* showering kisses and hugs
we have 5 part time workers. open 6 days week. latest is til 7.. we prob could close sats as we arent busy... we help with computers now. i love it becuz i have a puter nerd. lol
Sat. I get the herds of small boys playing little online games - they're cute, and 3 are brothers. I feel like daycare.
giving their mom a break.
We also have a small bunch of home schooled kids, they actually check out books and behave, nice to have. always "shushing" each other. love it.
we have a childrens room lol.. i work down there 2 days a week . those little ones are so cute.and they already know their computers..i love the little ones.. now the middle school kids.... another story lol
ours is just one big room. small town, only about 350 people. lucky to have a library at all, the only other things in town are two bars and the post office, and a small motel out on the highway that somehow stays in business.
the K-8 school closed, finally, last year, sad to see it. now they all get bussed off to a bigger school.
we have a small library in a village of brocton. sounds a bit like yours.. but thank god for libraries.. the higher ups dont realize all we do
we're right on a historical canal with old locks and such, and a small lake. Sort of popular with tourists and bicyclists who ride the canal path. Lots of train buffs come through, too, as the town has a big train history. Take pics of freights passing through, and the depot.
they're so impressed by the trains, -not like us, who live with them right in our side yard, lol - there's one out there now, switching. Back, forth, back, forth... don't even hear it any more after 22 years here.
well coffee time. nice chatting with you rbud. fun hearing about other librarys and what they are doing
oooh, good idea, the coffee. I might as well, it's nearly morning. nice chatting with you, too. :)
Could I get a clue for eg7, please?

OK I am really sorry about that
reading back about libraries. We fought tooth and nail for a new one about 5 year ago.we lost our old Carnigie library in the 30,s and the one that replaced it was in a ugly utilitarian one floor building that the town already owned and just kept patching up. We then had the chance of a Small grant from the government to build a new one. So we looked at where we stored our town historical records in one building, we had our coast guard marine office in another and the town selectmen in others, all public offices all paid for by taxpayers. The town turned to the locals for hep and we raised 4 million dollars without a single effort and built a beautiful 4 story library to house all the books, all the historical records and all the public offices i listed.it even has a green roof you can go up on in the summer and relax and read amongst a nature wonder space.the town closed all the other unneeded offices and the building has now paid for itself.it is our pride and joy. A town with out a good library is a town that is lost and ill.
you're forgiven - now if you can do that O
o + ti5/10
good man! TY
ot= ear ache
TY dawg too
phantom - rhinitis (while we are doing that end)
go7?
a person who dresses all in black & women hate cellul***
ty, lyn
BBL - I need to get up and stretch this back
so true crossy..will find out when i go to work today how much the mayor cut our budget again.
it is funny we had to raise 4 mill for the library and raised it in less than 6 months but we just raised 10 mil for the hospital and it took over a year so in the public eye both are of roughly equal importance to us
i am sorry they are cutting your funding, ivesy:(
and at the end of the year, they have to raise our hourly rate to $8 an hr., so that wont help the budget
go8, please
last year we had to cut hrs. that we were open a bit. imagine that will happen again. we do a lot of fund raisers but people just dont have, or want to donate money.
like the go7 but add a vowel after the O
thanks
ty lb!
we find that the tighter things get financial wise, job wise etc the more a library is needed, not less.it becomes a valuable resource to those who can no longer afford extras like buying new books or having computers at home. it helps with job searches, resumes, childrens story hour. it displays local artists works so many things i cannot list them all
tadone!! finito!! last word in8. this was a tough grid! ty to all cluers.
our town--Spfld Il--has had all three branches eliminated, where many kids did homework after school--and the main library drastically cut. We have started a library for kids in a local church in our imoverished neighborhood. And I sam going to build one of those corner bookhouses that stand on poles all over Madison and Mlpds--you bring a book, take a book. Any sort. They are v popular.
yaa for lbd!
very good idea, roundbarn.i have seen those take a boo/leave a book kiosks in other towns and they are very popular here
yes, that is what our patrons come in for. use computers to find jobs.. kids come in all the time and so do the adults. they line up waiting for us to open.. but , the leaders of the city dont care.
remember that nect time you vote for your town leaders
we are a deprssed area. many on welfare.
in8, please?
and speaking of work, i guess i better get ready ..lol
illinois is busy cutting our pensions too--our money that they literally stole over the years to pay for other things.
this
good morning babblers
in5 + latin for king, Marc
Good Morning, Annie!
RB, I read The Taste of Spruce Gum and I loved the book.
thanks
Hi dawg :)
I am now reading The Orphan Master's Son and it is bone chilling. Life in North Korea.
yw, Marc
they raised our eigability for pensions to 67.i think they are hoping we die off before we can collect, roundbarn
good morning,annie
hi crossy :)
Good Morning Everyone
hi River
I think that is my eligibility age too.....here it goes by your year of birth
Thank you, Annie. The lumber camp site is real, I divided my source--Grandma Vi--in two, made her mother and daughter. Now read my Round Barn books--Nef loves them. They are mu current work and a huge project--I'm on Volume 3--UWis Press just ordered 200 each for their warehouse, so they're getting orders. Finally bego inning to sell! (I give a lot awau.)
but I can retire earlier and collect less if I choose
i think the average make life expectancy round here averages out at 72.so now they only have to pay for 5 years
yes you pay in a lifetime and only get to collect a few years......crazy!
yes.it is a good gimmick they have going, riverdance
RB, I copied UWisPress and will order some in the future. I have about 4 books on hold. One of my fave authors, Oscar Hujeulos died last week so I bought the last 3 books of his I didnt read. I also have the new Jhumpa Lahiri book. Can't wait to start that after I finish The Orphan Masters Son. When I have books waiting to be read, I am v. happy.
how is school going crossy
love the fact that we had one lady(sadly she passed 2 years ago) was 114!!!she collected pension for 49!!! years:))
good for her.....she got her moneys worth.....
it is going very well ,river.i have a final exam in one tomorrow(advanced computers) then it is off to english next monday

am quitting to write a book review on a book not very good but the writer is im portant here --I'll hit the better bits. Poof. Oh, Annie--you warm my soul! And Crossy--tell sometime what English you are taking.
thank you Jeff
sh8 a man who fishes for sh6.27 (as in throw a sh**** on the BBQ)
I have a wall full of books almost from floor to ceiling.
got it thanks
i ran out of room for book cases and had to buy a e-reader
i think 99% of babblers are bibliophiles anyways and the other 1% are in remission lol
I do too Annie and many boxes full.......I still like reading the old fashioned way. I am rereading some of my old James Patterson books right now.
before I sign off for my unpleasant duty (the report) thank you Crossy. I'm glad you're reading them. I'm heavy into artificial insemination now--have some great pix of our local inseminator at work. NOW I gotta write that review. I like your post on the 1%--need therapy
my wife said that if i added one more book case we would have to move
indeed, roundbarn all you need in life is love, a garden and books:)
Build bookhouses in the yard--my plan!
lol
i am going the other route.plan to open a book store
and a cow, crossy, a cow.
that way not only can i buy and sell, the entire thing becomes my personal library
lol,did not know cows read books:))
33 left and still 4 blank tiles - ugh!
i won't bore anyone with my review--how to make a poor book look good without being really dishonest. It's a skill. Outa here.
bye roundbarn
A cow in an apartment on the 23rd floor is a bit unwieldy. He can live on the terrace. We can use the milk.
tc. roundbard.just damn it with faint praise
but they listen to music, Crossy. Read the Dan Goldsmith chapter.
oh i know they listen to music.we have one dairy farmer here who pipes classical music into the milking area
says it increases yeild and butterfat
lol Annie - guess you need to find a small cow
I will live with my flowers and leave the herd to others
cow would most likely eat your flowers anyways, annie
true, crossy, lol
we need a hybrid.a pocket cow, perhaps the size of a corgi dog, that eats nothing but mosquitos and yeilds twice the milk of a regular cow
a pet
lol,you could knit is sweaters to wear in the winter
name it beatrice:)
Done
the cow, I mean, not the grid
beatrice the laughing cow was the mascot for gay lea dairy for years
these darn vowels are killing me
Borden's Milk had a cow named Elsie
crossy hates vowels
Those 3 "eyes" bunched together, arrrggh
we must have them but we do not need to like them
crssy hts vwls
is it just me,or is this an evil little grid with sharp teeth?
"CHOMP'
It is not just you, Mr. Hair.

add the second vowel to the 7 crossy
near the start
sorry crossy, my dad spent my entire childhood in pain until he went to a chiropractor, and then she got him out of pain, so...
if i hadn
't seen that i probably would be skeptical too
I don't feel comfortable about a chiropractor touching my neck
i just wish that chiropractors would be less down on regular medicine and regular medicine would be less down on chiropractors. it seems a bit silly to me.
my wife had a terrible experience with one and it has rubbed off on me i suppose
well, i mean, i had my tonsils out and as a result, i have migraines now. but does that put me off all surgeons? i mean, things do go wrong.
not saying all are bad,but i will explore other options for now
since we are dealing with my spinal column and nerves here, i plan on being rather particular.i am too young to be in a wheelchair yet
yeah - i totally understand. i am not one to be all rah rah everyone has to go to a chiropractor.
but,in the end,if it boils down to surgery and fusion,i will seek a chiro first
that makes sense, that's how i would feel too
i have seen too many friends worse off after spinal fusion surgery and it scares the crap out of me

I decided to treat myself last night to celebrate "him" moving out hopefully this weekend - I bought myself a big ass TV
now you can watch anything with Idris Elba or Tom Selleck with even bigger pleasure!
to name a few.....
am loving some of this falls new shows
<-- loves those very big and tall actors
and tired of the little piece of crap her bought a year ago when our old one broke....
was Luther shown on US tv?
*he
haven't heard of that one
I am loving Blacklist and Hostages
The just ran the first two episodes of Lillyhammer which is an absolute riot
and of course Revolution is back
dont know that one either
and I cant wait for the sound when I watch the Voice
Lther is BBC, Lillyhammer starts Steven Van Zandt, one of the heavies from Sopranos, you might call it "crime comes to Norway", very funny idea
I'm hoping it will be delivered soon - haven't gotten a date yet - couldn't bring it home because it wouldn't fit in my car.
What we get on Fr TV is pretty random, e.g. only had one season of The Wire (also with Idris Elba), so I bought the DVD's
how big is it?
I dont usually watch BBC - my son loves that Top Gear show.....some of it is amusing to me
Its a 60" Samsung Plasma HD
because you cant lay them down I couldn't take it. My car is not tall enough
BBC series are usually very well-made, like MI5. I don't know which are shown in the US
WOW! That's big aws alright!
I have been talking about it for a long time and finally just went out and did it.....this will be with me for a long time so I decided to get the biggest one I could afford. Unfortunatley I couldn't afford the LED so had to go with the Plasma but I do like the color better anyway.
and I already have an HD cable box set up......whooohoooo
I don't know the difference. For me, the only problem with HD is that you learn a little bit too much about actors' skins
some skin is worth looking at.....
on the other hand, it's nice to know that even the beauties aren't perfect. LOL
since I dont have any other skin to look at - I will pick and choose on my TV
I have go 8 and sh 8 , what are the other two?

It''s 6.50 pm, cold and dark here :(
Curled up on the couch with babble to amuse me though, so all is well
Its almost 2pm here and its rainy, cool and darkish--A real fallish day
I forget that when I see you on soon after the flip it is because you don't sleep and it's really the middle of the night!
I get messed up too on all the time zones--lol Its hard to keep track
I think I would run out of gas if I were up all night and all day too.
Plenty of gas here, but would be tired :D

Look, there is Soodle. Are your lips above the water level yet?
Alas, gone in an Irish breeze, was she.
** finito ** last word TH 6 / 27
Nope. Still here, Molly.
Well done Teach! And Molly, I'm like a swan.... Appearing serene on the surface, but feet going like the clappers out of sight. :-/
On a positive note, the Credit Union approved my loan for a replacement for my deceased car. Whoo-Hoo!
I know (from watching Breaking Bad) that you guys in the US have credit unions. They are the only financial institutions in this country who are lending money at the moment. Bless them!
This is from my Oxford Dictionary Of Celtic Mythology...In early Irish literary tradition the swan is often depicted as the epitome of purity, beauty, and potential good luck.
Rofl laughing Molls! My knowledge of swans is that they are bad tempered, hissing
cranky old birds!! Take your pick!!! Lol
Yes, but you know better than I that an Irish story teller can take something plain and dress it up into a gorgeous myth...how else could the stories of Selkies come to pass?
If you haven't already done so, Molls, have a read of The Children Of Lir.
Done so, love it.
Update on my Dad. He has responded well to the treatments for pneumonia & salmonella. However, he is very debilitated, and still unable to stand unaided. As things are, its out of the question that he could come home. We are still in a state of crisis. Meh!
i am sorry about your da,soodles and wish him a speedy recovery
Thanks Crossy. My crisis state was compounded by the demise of my car, which made it nigh on impossible to get into see him. Hopefully, this will be addressed at theweekend, when I will acquire a replacement chariot!
Again again I bless the Credit Union!
i have used a credit union for over 22 years now and would neverchange
These kinds of illness take their toll on the elders. Blessings to you Dad, Soodle.
Molls, when you visit here, I'll take you to The Garden Of Rememberance in Dublin. Theres a wonderful sculpture of the Children of Lir. When the Queen of England visited last year, she was taken there, so, you will be following august footsteps.
Amen, Crossy!
Molly, has your sister returned from her travels?
Wah. The Irish breeze seems to have taken MollyL. I'm disappointed. Its time for bed, so, night, Crossy & any lurkers.

"What do you want?" Research suggests that our conscious minds aren't so much in charge of the decisions we make as they are great rationalizers of them. Which means they often collude with our unconscious minds to craft stories about why we do things and even why we feel things that are just blatantly untrue. We often have far more invested in seeing ourselves as virtuous, noble, fair-minded, and good than we do in recognizing the truth: that we often want things and therefore do things that make us base, selfish, self-righteous, and unjust.
sounds like our son... haha! but really, not surprising. I have often thought folks are even better at lying to themselves than they are to others.
I have asked many what they want from life. The vast majority of those who answered were surprised at the question, thought everyone pretty wanted the same thing and probably had never put a lot of thought into the matter.
hi all! Decided I might as well finish up.
and I did.
congrats sue
I'm about to go to sleep, but wanted to share that i had a lovely time with harpjane and her hubby at an organ recital at the Kennedy Center last night. G'night/day and peace, y'all!
