cooee from me
w2g Rose! Hugs and Howdy
thanx pugs, how are you today? and flosey, am so pleased you are recovering from that wretched cold.
Iam great! Are you feeling lonely
hi rose and thanks
are you kidding, pugs? i have had the loveliest day in a long time. the sun is shining, we have a gentle breeze blowing. when i opened the back door this morning the gorgeous perfume from my cecil brunner rose wafted in.
oh how lovely rose
sounds peacefull and relaxing
then following doctor's orders, i went outside and played in my garden for a few hours. have planted out nearly all the gladioli bulbs. in the ground and in pots.
So glad you have had such a beautiful day for yourself
it will be beautiful, rose
and all the miniature roses i planted in mother mac's window baskets are covered in buds, just in time for her return home next monday.
oh that will be nice. Are they all the same color
ah, she'll be very pleased
it was the best time in ever so long...i thought i had missed the opportunity to plant the bulbs.
oh, no, pugs. they are apple blossom pink, red, golden yellow, and white with a pink edge.
sounds very lovely!
and my other rose have gone ballistic. i am training two climbers over a new garden arch. one has pale yellow and cream flowers, the size og a large grapefruit, and the other is a scented pink, with a creamy centre
Is your soil mostly sand?
read *roses*
no, it's clayish. and the roses love it.
sounds lovely rose
I bet that will be pretty! You have a bench under the arch to sit out and enjoy the beauty
i hope the weather continues like this for the next few days. the forecast is pretty good until monday.
I hope so too for your sake
well, just monkeyed gl6/36, strange word
no pugs, as that would not allow me to reach my gardening shed...yes, dear, i have a garden shed, as does DH.
*giggle* flosey, another scots word, mean quick, keen
A his and hers garden shed set?
ah, thanks rose
his is further from the house, and every now and again he has to get the mower out and mow a path to it..
and i can't hide in mine...too many creepy crawlies in it.
lol rose, sounds like the path to our kitchen garden
You can fixed that by a good cleaning--LOL
I am afraid of sheds
there is always the possibility of running into a snake in that pathway
Especially behind them
Why is that Ru(though I hate to ask)
eeek, pugs said the cl word. and did i say no window? i would be in the dark in there...like a shitaki mushroom.
flosey, i do hope you stamp your feet when using the path...
How in the world then do you get anything out of it?
hi Rose - what were you doing inside a mushroom? Did you fall down a rabbit hole?
I don't go alone, rose
oh, pugs...why, oh why, do you have to open pandora's box?
Granny in Wonderland
ROFLOL...jwr. hello, dear
a scream would be out of my mouth before I could think - can just see the neighbours all running to see what happened
pugs, with gloves on.which, i might add, go all the way to my elbows.
for myself I like cleaning the barn and shed and I dont mind a snake to keep the mice down and whats a tiny little spider?
hi all (and bye, just in case I have to do my usual quick "out" ) Ah, I've caught up now. I just love a little whimsy with my horror.
well if it's black with a red bit on the back, it's time for the spray.
HI and bye jwr
we have only garter snakes
oh, no, flosey, the mind pictures that conjures up.lolol
Those are harmless Flosey
I know pugs, and I've tried - but they always startle me
and if I might add, the spiders do catch insects too
ty pug - I'll take it as written. Of course, as soon as I said my pre-farewells, I'll probably have lots of time to play. ... "harmless" is a rational word; fears are not usually born of rationality.
poor harmless little garter snakes would probably faint away at flosey's screams
I wish, jilli
I dont like them sneaking up on me but if I know they are there I dont mind them
but they are good for the garden - so I just stay put and let them do there good
flosey, try walking along a well-defined path, and find a red-bellied black snake in front of your feet. fortunately i was well trained by my dad.
I'm with Jilli -- only problem is you have to do a taxonomic recognition of the snake first!
lol, jilli. i know huntsman spiders do not like my screams.
I can't, rose - I simply can't
... unless you were trained by rose's dad
Primal fear of snakes here
even DH was impressed...no screaming, i just stopped in my tracks and let the blighter slither it's way into the grasses beside the path.
Walking the creek there are snakes in the water all the time and sometimes they will be upon a rock or log sunbathing
Imagines pug applying ban de soliel to snakes
mind you, DH had to pick me up and carry me to the car. i was unconscious by then...
lol Rose
lol, ruru...only you would think of something like that
cycling from one Indian village to another (o so many years ago), a baby cobra got hung up in the spokes. Couldn't get off without touching it; had to ride one-legged for a good half-mile.
:) Ruru
oh jwr, dread just to think of it
I could just see rose on that trip--lol
roflol, jwr. and i can tell you...you CAN drive a car from the passenger seat, including a three-point turn....when there is a huntsman spider sitting on the driver's door.
What's a huntsman spider
wow rose, good thing there wasn't a cop nearby
like a tarantula, but not as poisonous.
I have a fear of roaches--yuckiest bug in the world
wow, rose, did you? I still think about it once n a while - not because of the ride but the aftermath: when I came close enough to be seen, the whole village came out to laugh.
huntsman's have a very painful bite. and yes, jwr, i did. i screamed the whole time, too.
are they colorful like a tarantula too
Uh ... pug, I think you've driven me back to the grid -- I shall glance over once in a while to check out the nouns.
not one continuous scream, but several, pausing to take next breath
pugs, google them.
and good for you, rose.
okay Rose I will
your rose garden sounds so lovely, rose
Of course, if a cop stopped you, you could always point at the thing and say "He was driving, officer!"
60 left and time for beddybye -- farewell all...*poof
night Jilli
lol--thats a good one jrw
I meant jwr
aw, thanx pug - ...and you can call me anything you like
[poof for now]
night, jilli. and maybe i'll see you later jwr. have a good one, both of you
thanx, flosey. there other plants, indian hawthorn, weeds, geraniums, weeds, daffodils, weeds, jonquils, weeds...oh did i mention weeds?
well most weeds has flowers too
any plants you can think of rose - just not those other occasional inhabitants
I read where weeds help hold moisture for other plants
*giggle* and the one i encourage to grow is forget-me-nots. i so love 'em
Oh I like those too! I always plant some every spring
they grew wild by the side of the creek that ran past the end of our property in Ontario
and I mix cosmos in with them
begonias, cyclamens, marigolds, nasturtiums, lillies, daisies, queen's tears, cacti, grape hyacinths, hoya.
wow, youhave quite a garden rose
lily-of-the-valley, ferns
Ive never heard of the queen tears
apple trees, plum trees
oh pugs, they are amazing. google them too. the flowers are extraordinary.
do you make apple and plum jellies
we have those, rose, and pear, quince....
I will rose
but were yours planted because a bird pooped there?
oh, and the bromeliads...they are incredible
no, hubby planted them, plus more apple, damsen
my blackberries were and mulberry tree
don't know those
blackberries grow wild all over the island - have many on the farm
brb--coffee needed
they make great blackberry port
i have an air-bromeliad. it gets it's moisture from the air. at the moment it is hang from a piece of wire. i really must get it a bark slab this year. it is the size of a soccer ball now. i have grown it from a piece the size of an orange.
morning all. Grannyrose - a hoya - what a marvellous plant with flowers like cream velvet. First time I saw the one at work flower I thought one of the pupils had left a hair-ornament on the counter it looked so artificial.
Morning Scouser
morning puglet
I have got to half-way here and come to a complete halt
I planted some tame rhasberries and those are the sourest berries ever---but huge berries
I love all raspberries. Have you got loganberries then, the big darker ones? like a cross between rasp (Scots word) and blackberry
lire
oooops raspberry jam in the pb then
I dont know Scouser--the plants were gave to me. They are a dark red and very large
hey scouser, nice to se you, hun
and so sour that you dont hardly get a taste of the berry
they taste nothing like the wild ones
hi grannyrose. I just had angiogram and result was good and don't have to take betabloc any more, just the aspirin and statin. no problems with either of those.
good morning all
wow scouser, good news!
great, scouser. that's good news.
Morning Sweet Sprite, hugs
and hellooo spritey...
*hugs rose and pug*
puglet - you can make a lovely swiss pie with them though I don't know how my mum used to do it - with a sort of fluffy sponge with the fruit dotted about, all in a pie case
hugs to all
*hugs scouser too*
flan case I should say
hugs back Scouser
sounds real tasty
one of those memory tastes
are there any english words in this grid?
not likely
ah well that's what makes Babble so good - variety
several two letter words but they dont count-lol
lol
some monkeying about to happen I think !
some scouser, you just have to look vewwy carefully.
Sprite, Rose has had the most wonderful day all to herself
enjoying your time alone, rose? :)
and high is not in the grid no matter how many times I try it
that whole -igh- thing seems to be a waste of space there.
I know or right or bright and so on
things better on the homefront Sprite
not really, pug.
I just found out that Gradyn's mother is dating a guy that has spent time for child molestering :(
omg she really goes all the way, doesn't she :(
I know Sprite---and she is so pretty but doent have a pretty attitude or ways
even more reason to keep Gradyn away from her
yeah I know==I guess I need to alert his father on this
oh absolutely. Very important.
yeah I think so too. Its not pleasent to say things about family members but I feel the need to for Gradyn's sake
his dad is in the best position to make sure he never has to be around that guy.
sprite, i finally managed to finhd the right words to answer your email. and yes, dear...followed doctor's orders and spent some time in my beloved garden today.
Yes he is==and if Iam right this guy is not allowed around kids
aw sweetie, thank you, will go read it soonest. And yay, lovely, you time in the garden!
i came in filthy with dirt all over me, but in the be4 of moods. had a lovely shower, did a few chores, then sat down to babble..lol...
sounds just perfect, rose. All in your own time and rhythm.
Rose you must take pics of your roses and flowers when they are all bloomed out
hey! pug, you have another icon! Cute too :)
pugs, do you have any redress? is he a registered child molester?
we do and he was married to a friends granddaughter and Iam going to phone her to get some answers that she will know before relating imfo to his father
hi all
hi joso *hugs* how are you today?
thanks Sprite on the icon.......I wanted to see if I remember how too and I got it right the first time
my toes hurt
wow, nice going :)
Hi Joso, hugs
what did you do to your toes, joso?
why is that Joso
Off to bed - got sidetracled for a bit, bbback tomorrow
walked a lot, car brokedown and had a lot to do today
night flosey, sleep well
g'nite flosey
Night Flosey, GB and take care
*sends gentle healing vibes to joso's toes*
sorry about the car :(
such is life, got the money to fix it now anyway
Hi everyone - lots of lovely people here :)
hiya Liz :) *hug*
HELLO LIZ
hey liz, life still swonderful for you
that is a good thing, joso. Wish I could say the same, lol.
Sorry to read about Tim acting up again and about Joso's toes and Pug's child molester!!
I hate break downs! Hope your luck turns to the better Joso
Of course my life is still wonderful :)
let me catch up...night flosey, hope you sleep well, hun. hello joso. yuck about the car..* kisses to4 better* ...and cooee liz
Party weekend!!!!
between us all we could write some heavy-duty soaps, lol
oh, yeah, liz...have started....
I would like Liz's life for a day!
Hope the weather's going to be good on the island for Don!
I wish you could all share my life - doesn't mean I haven't had hard times but nothing to be too dramatic about.! And it is good now.
I must admit toes do take a back seat to tim and a child molester
forecast says yes, until monday, when he is heading for home.
It's been trying to rain up here but nothing substantial - I know we could do with it and NSW too.
but at least you have something to get along for the ride, joso ;)
guys I just cant understand my neice :(----It breaks my heart she has chosen this road to travel
Are you going to get together with mates Rose or just enjoy time to yourself?
I can imagine, pug. Seems she really needs to experience life from the bad side.
People make their own choices Pugs and sometimes listen to advice but often think they know best :(
liz, hoping to lunch and watch the race with a friend from church on sunday. she is a motorcycle nut, also.
as long as you send her home before babble, rose
Hope you make it - and sprite beat me to the next comment!
I hope your molester turns out to be one of those things where an 18 year old was dating a 16 year old pug, not one of those creeps that hang around playgrounds, good that you have means to find out more pug.
or you could invite her to join us Rose
a 16 yo pug... wow
i might not be conscious, sprite. lashed out and bought myself some jim beam and cola cans today.
I'd leave the cola alone!
I think he was 18 or 19 and the girl was like 12
lol rose!
Not condoning it but was she consenting?
yeach, not so good
Liz I dont know---I dont know him that well
at 12 there is no way she could consent to anything with a guy of 18. That is pressure.
But before I carry tales Iam going to find out
I do know he spent a few years in prison for it
Sometimes girls that age THINK they're in love. That's what I mean. Flattery etc. That's why I wasn't condoning. it doesn't change what he did!
Nasty little grid!
no, I get your meaning, Liz. She may have thought it a very grown-up thing to do and something that would make him love her better. But still.
oh, just heard from DH. he has had a great day. * sigh * i hope the weather holds.
A-freakin'-men to that, Liz!
good that it was a she and graydon a he, I'm with liz, an 18 year old should know better, but if force applied is worse still.
Absolutely! But it's much easier for him if she's conned by the flattery!
ah good, rose. You missing him already?
That's good Rose :)
I know too that he was not to be with any underage girls and the first one he got involved with was, so to me it says hes not learnt his leason at all
not really, sprite..maybe tomorrow??
hehehe yeah, perhaps tomorrow, hun. So nice when they are having a good time and you know your time alone is safe, isn't it :D
I don't think that they can change that much Pugs. If they need that feeling of power - I'm not sure that counselling can change that. But I've not had experience so don't really know.
Gradyn is lucky to have you looking out for him, pug
I hate being apart from my hubby :(
Very true sprite. Lucky gradyn.
abso- bl***y-lutely, sprite
liz, i love him dearly...but i have no time utterly alone...and at heart i am a loner. happy in my own company.
Sorry about using the gi 4 word but I guess in a serious conversation ...
the news came to me from a third party so I must find out the truth before opening my mouth. But it came from a reliable sorce
I read back a bit, Surprised rose is such a girly girl about spiders and snakes
I know you love him Rose - can tell by the tone of what you say!
heck yes, don't worry about it. We will continue our babble party in the PB together.
I left that conversation alone Joso - why on earth did I move to Aus with the way I feel about those things?
Sensible Pugs :)
I think you are doing the right thing pug, information can only help you here
Joso how far did you have to walk
wouldn't mind the spiders and snakes. But I don't think I could handle the heat you have overthere!
ummm, joso, i can handle daddy-long-legs...said to be the most poisonous spiders around...but anything like tarantulas, huntsmen...YUCK!!!!
do you guys have those fireants there too :(
I don't really know, lots of busses, subway, streetcar with short and long walks between, was a nice day for it though.
It's not too bad here - don't get the extremes that Melbourne does. And on the really hot sweaty days, use the air con.
Yes Pugs there are fireants in my area - haven't seen them though but have seen warning posters.
oh, yeah...old adage...you don't like melbourne weather...wait 5 minutes...
sounds like a real adventure Joso-lol
lol rose
4 seasons in a day in Melbourne.
unvoluntary sight-seeing, joso
pugs, we have jumping jacks...they hurt like hell.
when I worked in Florida picking oranges I got into a nest of those and it wasent pleasent at all
what would have been 3 hours of errands with car was all day without.
and the bull ants? their jaws are so strong you can use them like sutures on an open wound.
I repeat, why did I come and live in Aus?
what are jumping jacks? A type of ant
roflol...liz, i'll play your silly game...why did you?
No I wasn't playing a game :) I really hate all the creepies and those that crawl. I go for a walk and continually look around for Joe Blakes!
yes, pugs. and they jump AT you, even when you are moving away.
Where did you live Liz before going to Aus
But I do love life here apart from that and I've only seen 3 snakes in 5 years - so not too bad!
I'm from London, Pugs.
Do you have all these ants in your garden Rose
oh, liz? which zoo did you go to visit?...nah, i'm being silly...
LOL :)
I avoid the reptile house in zoos - such a coward!
not that i know of, pugs. did in my last home...had to watch second son very carefully..he is allergic to theit bite.
At a sci fi convention I was chatting up a girl in the bar. She was very well endowed, so to speak, so i must admit my eyes drifted off her face from time to time. I had a fair excuse because she this elaborate spider broach, and convention people love to have their paraphernalia admired. all was going well untill her broach moved, her pet tarantula freaked me right out.
Totally freaky!
agghhhh, joso. omg!!!!
thats too funny! wish I could of seen your face then
well he was on the other side of the bar, right, joso? how fast can you drink?
her nick name was crazy susan, met her a few more times at cons, always enjoyed her.
I bet that got your eyes off the twins!
A well earned nickname I'd guess.
no, we were on the same side of the bar, beside me.
LOLOL, liz
awwww joso! Felt watched, no doubt, with all those 8 eyes on you.
and pugs
Halfway! At last!
yeah, tricky little grid
Stats for the 9 please.
eeek, joso. reminds me of a motorcycle show we( DH and I) went to. there were these females walking around, boobs almost coming out of their tops.
When you say "enjoy" Joso ......?
and all goes well until they have to sneeze
i said to himself, close your mouth dear, your dentures are about to fall out...lol
Oh I bet Dh loved that!
lol
lol rose!
liz, tr9, plural form of a series of three stories/films
Looking's fine - just don't touch!
Thanks Rose!
yep... get hungry outdoors, but come home to eat
but you know what guys say to that, don't you?
Never got together liz, if that is what you are asking, the opportunity was there I think, but the idea of her pet roaming around the room put me off. After that initial meeting she was just someone interesting I looked forward to reconnecting with at cons.
Tell us.
that even if they take a cab once in a while, it doesn't mean they sell their own car.
Only joking Joso - can well understand why that pet would be very off putting!
oh yeah...did i ever tell you about DHs buck's night? his brother-in law took him to a lap-dancing bar...he came home so h***y...i could only say thanx...lolol
lolol rose
That's wonderful!
I can imagine, joso. Wouldn't like that thought myself either.
they are saying that we might see snow flurries next week end and temps are to drop into the 20's
brrrrr
guess its about time to light the furance
with snow, definitely, lol
we use to camp with our horses about this time of the year and we would sit around the campfire sipping hot apple cider with rum and cin. sticks
oh that sounds so very nice.
it was!
my girl said she wants to go trekking ahorse through america one day
could I have a clue to the y's
Road sign meaning give way
I always wanted to join one of those wagontrains to do that
thanks

half way and what a hard grid
back... sorry had to take a potty break. Yes, a tough grid today.
all the vowels but the a
oh and the u too
so many G words.
and my brain dont know that many either--lol
lol I hear ya!
good morning!
hi ruby *hugs* How re things today?
{{pugs}} your brain test was a riot I got 36!
Hello Ruby hugs
it certainly is a hard grid...so many words i didn't know...and i thought i was well read. lolol
lol yeah, the brain bowling? Very funny.
lol! glad you liked it
cooeee ruby
and I liked the joke you sent
lol rose... I know. And you are. Enable moves in mysterious ways though.
}}rosie}}
{{sprte}}
{{joso}}
how are things today, ruby?
I read through the chog and was able to get rose's 9, tyvm
hey ruby
no better, I'm sitting here to keep from falling apart
as a first word
good first word
but not good on almost falling apart. Breathe, my dear, breathe...
ahh Ruby, hope we can make you feel better
there's nothing I can do; this is not a disproportionate rezction
after all my various therapies, that is how I evaluate how I'm feeling or reacting
whats going on ruby, problems with hubby growing?
*gentle hugs* for my loved ruby...
no, he's just declining, nothing new there
and a smack in the chops for himself...
and you love him dearly, and it's the hardest thing in the world to watch
from what I have seen, ruby's husband can't handle not being in control. Must scare him badly to be deteriorating and being confused all the time.
and he can't help me (and realizes it) with the REAL problems, so I'm basically onmy own
yeah, that must be horrible too for him. And for you. So stressful.
so you are managing a tough situating, so far anyway, but you are getting ground down from having to deal with it day after day?
several tough situations, joso, and there's no end in sight
enough about me; I'm sorry to be such a downer for the chog
somebody tell a joke, pls
and your normal partner for tough situations, your rock or anchor point, is not there for you as he has been in the past
thats what we are here for, darling.
not lately, joso, lol
did you read back today at all ruby?
only to the bottom of the page. What animal was stalking you, joso?
we are here for you Ruby
I think I take advantage
I dont feel that way at all
well try this anecdote ruby. At a sci fi convention I was chatting up a girl in the bar. She was very well endowed, so to speak, so i must admit my eyes drifted off her face from time to time. I had a fair excuse because she this elaborate spider broach, and convention people love to have their paraphernalia admired. all was going well until her broach moved, her pet tarantula freaked me right out.

I like spiders, but wouldn't like that at all!!!!@
morning OO
I guess it's her way of vetting potential suitors.....
she was a great gal, but we never did get together in the end, just became good friends
did her pet have a name
schroder
"EEEK"?
she said she reminded her of the piano kid in charly brown
hi o-o, glad to see you.
how cute! NOT
ty, o-o, I'll check on that later
her nick name was crazy susan
can't imagine how she came by that nick
Clue please for tr 9/66
what kind of conv. was it Joso
quite amazing to meet her years later when she was a housewife in scottsdale, very happy, 2 kids, yadda yadda yadda, As I had only know her in her wild years
spider convention? etymologists?
gran: plural for series of 3 books
sci fi convention, I used to go to a lot of them, met her at an ann arbour convetion
hows come you dont still go
he;s probably become an arachnophobe lol

I wouldn't eat her cookies!
little black hairy bits from shroder's paws......eewww
Me EITHER!
They were very interesting for a long time for me, but kind of outgrew them, after 20 years or so, used to run the toronto convention, ad astra, for a while.
time to go, kids, see you later
ta ruby, have a good one
bye Ruby, hope things become better for you
bye ruby *hugs* take care hun
ps Last night the two dogs slept cuddled up. It's about the cutest thing I've ever seen as they are really big now and so sweet together
awwww that is so sweet

OO, where do you find so many quotes and sayings--I like so many of them
I am curious ... just look around at stuff
do you write some yourself
I like the icon. Came across some 'rules for life' and one of them was: "What people think of you is none of your business." Am keeping that in mind atm.
at times
here is Ad Astra's web site if you want more of an idea at to what cons are about. http://tinyurl.com/k5hgyqf
oh nice, joso. I have read about them, but never went to one. I have the feeling the dutch ones are too small scale.
me too Sprite and what he has on his blog. I wouldnt know a false babbler, I dont think
all I can say is I have believed in a few of them, so I am gullible. Still better than jaded, grin.
being a published author you would get a free pass sprite, if you agreed to speak at some panels.
wow that would be fun, joso. I went to one of the fantasy fairs here once and spoke there and was in one panel. Quite an experience. Had a lot of fun there. Didn't sell squad though, lol.
without english translations I doubt you would sell much here either, but i bet the 'european point of view' would be well met.
I so need to get them translated. And now that I finally have the energy, I don't have the texts, lol. Still no luck getting my backup back up.
oy, that must be very fustrating
it is. I am still kicking myself for not burning it all on CDs as well.
was your book a si-fi
no, fantasy, pug. Am not smart enough for sci-fi, grin.
I don't know that you would sell enough to pay for the trip in any case sprite, something to think about including if you are coming for some other reason.
joso, you have inspired me. I will let this idea simmer and grow into a plan.
oh I bet you are, dont sell yourself short
sf and fantasy are both honored at cons, some horror too.
nah. Sci-fi needs to be real good in technical sense as well. And I am definitely not a beta. Just reread some of Peter Hamilton... now that is sci-fi. Awesome.
england has an active convection life too, that would be a bit easier to manage.
hamilton is awsome
it would be really really fun to do something like that.
we might even see you on tv sometime
he is, isn't he! I read those books about the world after global warming reached its peak... so realistic and scary, and also so... right. Life will go on, indeed, and people will have to adapt. Amazing.
what name do you write under
the news tends to show the customers most.
lol pug, don't hold your breath, hun. I am small chance in the book world. Real small chance.
change*
pug: cass van dijk, my real name.
van dijk is a very very common dutch name, so it is as good as an alias and easier :)
small change i think you mean
Iam looking forward to seeing it out on the shelves
yes, that is what I meant, joso
you will become so famous you wont know us--lol
yeah, sure, pug, that would be me, lololol. Well, I'll never be famous. And if I would be, I would be happy because it would mean I'd have enough money to visit you all :)
Its surprising what catches on to people--a good example is green eggs and ham--lol
found one comment lamenting your books not likely to be translated
aw that is nice. Yes, I would have to do it myself. And I think my english is about good enough for that now. As long as I had a critical proofreader to tell me where it doesn't sound ok.
oh but Dr Seuss is brilliant.
I can read, what do I have to do to be a critical proof reader?
he is but who would think such a story would become so big?
joso: a good sense of language, mostly. To know where my translation sounds like a translation, and to know how a native speaker would say it.
You got all of us to proofread! And you know Rose, she would be awsome at it
yeah, Joso would be great at it too
you are making me all enthusiastic, to be honest. Now how to get that backup back to life... I might ask a neighbour. Her son studied something computery.
happy to do it if you want. we could do a chapter and you could tell me if you like the results
joso, it is a deal! Thank you :D
where is the backup?
its all up to you Sprite. No better time then in the now
it is on an external hard drive. When the computer crashed, the drive crashed too. Hence my original and my backup gone at once.
there are specialist who can get it for you
but I am told the data will still be on the drive. It is just not accessible. We tried putting it into the computer itself. That didn't work.
yeah I know, joso, but it will cost me around 400 euro and I simply don't have that kind of money.
but the neighbors kid may be good enough, worth a try
yes, I think I am gonna be bold and ask him. He can say no if he doesn't want to do it. Can't hurt to ask.
how is that equall to our money
best speaker we ever had was a european, terry pratchet
No it wont hurt
600 dollars, ish
almost 600 usd, pug
oh, I like terry pratchett! Very good writer.
at the con brunch he spoke about going for a walk in the woods with his 5 year old son and encountering some medieval reenactors and how his son took it all for granted, had the whole room in stitches.
awww that is priceless
fireflies here. Thanks for getting my enthusiasm cooking!
*hugs* to you all, have a peaceful evening and a lovely day.
w2g gj Sprite
have a good day sprite
hugs back and bye Sprite
oh, and congtats too, lol
Iam heading out too---Hugs Joso and hope the toes gets better---night
an good sleep and they will be fine, have a good day pug
so, joso, it's just you and me...hehehe
night pugs and sprite...toodle-pip.
hehehehehehehe
so what are you not going to bother with today
alas, mate, its getting late here...and the bourbon is having it's evil way with me. today was grand, played in the garden in beautiful sunshine...tomorrow reality bites...usual weekend chores to be done..* sigh *
sunday??? that's a different tale altogether...planning on getting completely blotto...after church that is...LOLOL
well g'nite rose, catch you later, enjoy your alone time
nature called...goodnight joso, hope you have a good one.

hi
it is a nice fall day here

But?
but i am stuck in office with neck pain and exhausted
i just feel kinda... defeated
but i hate being such a whiner.
Oh dear, that is not very nice...can you not lower your head down and rotate slowly in a complete circle to try and ease the tension in your neck.
I felt like that yesterday. surely tomorrow will be better
ow, circle ow
Maybe so, Hurshy, but sometimes it is good to have a good ole whine.
i wanna move that other G over so i can have giggle

I've never used it
I've only used it once or twice. Not sure what their issue is today. Their website is not cooperating with me.
Am I so wrong to want INSTANT gratification from my internet????
OMG Judi... love your icon!
What a chimera, then, is man! what a novelty, what a monster, what a chaos, what a subject of contradiction, what a prodigy! A judge of all things, feeble worm of the earth, depositary of the truth, cloaca of uncertainty and error, the glory and the shame of the universe! ~Blaise Pascal

Ding! Ding! Ding! Bichon wins a hot dog!
I need lunch
same here but it supper i need
good evening everybody
Hello, ursh & ruby!
Hey, ruby
hi ruby
hi bzzn and judi and urSH
and bichon! I think of yu every time I go out and see more bichons. I think they are popular here because almost no one has large dogs and bichons are small dogs with lions' hearts!
We had a bichon mix in our police department this a.m. His human mommy had a medical emergency, so the officer brought her here until a family member could pick her up. She was cute as a button and sweet as pie.
*her* human mommy.
That's what Bichons are know for
that is ery nice; I doubt that the police here would do that
Judi. try Valpak.com
Oh my gosh. We love animals. We need a mascot here, but my co-secretary is allergic. *FROWNS*
maybe if you get a large, hairy cat, she'll qut and you can have a mascot
Huh?
Then she would like Bichons, they are hypo-allergenic
or dog
are they really?
Nah. She's not allergic to bichons. She actually has a labradoodle. Go figure.
she sounds like a pita
Labradoodles, may or may not shed as they are a cross-breed
Well, we are a police department, so we need a more macho dog. Curly, soft, fluffy and white simply will not do for the men and women in blue.
when we were still working, we used to bring first Rosie, then Rufus, to the office
you need a chow chow then: fluffy and very pretty, but scary-ooking
Nah. Too furry. Has to be low maintenance.
def not a chw then
Some day... when there's no allergies to worry about.
Bichon coats are very challenging as they don't shed. I spend a lot of time brushing
This little one had curly fur - soft as cotton.
Before about 9 months, the coat is soft like cotton, but then it really starts to curl. They need to have haircuts and brushing to keep the coat from getting tangly
Finally! Finished with those G's.
She was very well groomed.
Clue for Gi7 & 8, please?

Creature of habit that I am, I got another hyundai. My last hyundai had 163,000 miles on it & was a faithful servant. The one I'm collecting tomorrow has 40,000 miles, a 2007 model. Fingers & toes crossed that it's as good as the last.

hyundai are pretty good, which model are you getting?
I'm on my second Hyundai and loving it. Hope you enjoy your new car.
i am done....finally!
Thanks Molls. Joso, A work colleague rather unkindly described it as a 'menopausal ladies car''. It's called an Accent over here, probably goes by a different name over there. Nothing flash.... Just a regular sLoon.
Whoo-hoo Pen! WTG!!
hello peeps
hi TO
i keep seing "beignet". a vendor at the station today tried to tempt me with an order of them.
Hello ((( TO))))
hi bich. hi soods.
I have foul words for people who describe cars that way.
I was more put out by being called a menopausal lady! But thats just me! :-P
menopausal lady's car, that just makes the speaker sound daft
hey babblers, good afternoon :)
happy friday / saturday
Molly, I'm absolutely disgusted at the Breaking Bad official merchandise store. I ordered 2 x 'Have An A1 Day' air fresheners. I was assured they would be mailed bt Sept 22. To date - nada! I'm very annoyed.
In my opinion, people who define you by what kind of car you drive are shallow end of the pool types.
I didn't know there was an official store. I got my son a Breaking Bad t-shirt from Amazon.
Been there, done that..... Got the T shirt! :-)
As you know, my poor old Dad's in hospital. The TV in his room is wonky. I took in a portable dvd player to him today, with the Breaking Bad box set. I hope that he will be a fan soon. :-)
i went out with a guy who saw my old car and lectured me that i should get an acura. the nerve!
ooh sorry about your dad. i did not know
haha
i don't even have a car
crazy to me that people care about what kind of car you have
he was a bore anyway
I'm curious to hear what someone your Dad's age thinks of Breaking Bad.
Once upon a time, in a life far far away, makes, models & types of cars mattered to me. Nowadays, if I have a vehicle that gets me from point A to poin B, I'm content.
molly, w hat' s with th e water cooler?
It has Moet in it. The picture isn't that great.
ah. looks as if i won't finish tonight, going dancing shortly. need to go early to park, hot band
Rofl. My kind of water cooler!
ooh, dancing

Why smuggled?

Into Dad this afternoon, cunningly concealed amongst Von Ryan's Express, Where Eagles Dare, The Battle of the Bulge etc.

why smuggle?
My Dad loves Ww2 movies.
So what makes you think he will like Breaking Bad?

do you know Emliano Estevez?
ge 6 the last pls?
ge6, pet rodent
I've been telling him about it, Molly. He expressed an interest. He can look at the first couple of episodes... If they tickle his fancy... He has the whole lot at his fingertips. If he doesn't engage..... No harm done!
ty joso
rows, do you mean emilio estevex the actor?
I hope he does. I would love to hear his opinion on the show.
I'll let you know, Molly.
haha no, he's a blues dancer who might go to swing sometimes, i'm not sure
his name is Emiliano
no i don't.
I find it hard to imagine someone not being hooked after a couple of episodes.
Oh, jeez. I know I'm going to sound like the name-dropper of the decade, but I met Emilio Estavez, Martin Sheen & charlie Sheen in a pub called The Yanks in Borrisokane, Co Tipperary, a few years ago. There was a lot of drink drank that evening!
I love Martin Sheen. Did you watch The West Wing?
I did, Molly.
I keep dreaming that someday we will get a President like Jeb Bartlet.
Right now, anyone would be preferable to the clown who is in office.
re6/24 pls?
re6.24 make the mirror frame gold again
I always loved the remark in The Goonies when the kids find an old coin in the wishing well showing JFK's pic, & one of them says Hey.. Its Martin Sheen'
re6, or set sails again, 2 re6-24's
