ap quality of looking like a monkey
not appearing in tonight's grid are: epithet and sadist.

i'm looking for the ed...

hey Ruby LTNS here....just back to try for my last 46 words
I just started; it's already an impossible morning around here
it looks like a nice grid, though. I couldn't do justice to yesterday's
If anyone has ep10-77 and ep8-45 may I please have a clue? I have looked all the places I can think of and am not able to find these......Thanks
hello peach, usually I just see the back of you
ep 10, stick an I as the 3rd last letter
ep 8, leave out the 1st S of the ep 9
sorry its so blatant, couldn't think of anything else
Oh, grannie, thanks so much, I now have the 10 and am looking for the 8.
(not so blatant for me :()
Bless you grannie. I have all three of them.
you are much cleverer than I, ms. peach!

Oh, thank you ruby. I know I am way out of my league here.....but everyone is so kind and helpful.

only 34 left - I have 181 left. Trying to do the S;s now.
Hope you have better luck than I'm having with the s's.
sa 6/21 and pl is what I think I am sometimes when trying to finish a grid.
and we have 50 sh of grey
LOL, grannie. Does seem that way, eh?
see you later, kids
Have a great day, Ruby.

good morning everyone:)
good morning crossy
good morning (!!) {{crossy}} and {{teach}}
((ruby))
hello ruby
hugs to all
how cold is it there? They are talking about the dreaded sn word for tonight. I'm not ready
Hi all :)
I need your hugs to keep me warm -- it is cold and damp in the house, even with the fire burnngin the living room
{{lizlin}}
ruby, atm it is minus 4c and we have snow on the ground
Wish I could send some of our warmth your way, Ruby. Hot and humid here. Stormy this week.
we got the white stiff earlier in the week and it was beautiful - started as rain, so wet snow thst coated the trees - today it is supposed to start warming up
((((ruby))))
I think you could all do with some of our warmth!
I'm still looking for any big words. Somebody suggested an ep8 and 9, but I haven't found anything bigger than a 7
How warm is it there, liz?
yes we could - have consumed many extra cups of tea this week to get warm
Been close to 30 C most days this week and down to about 18 C at night.
we've had fires for a couple of weeks already
have an SE 6/7/8 combo
that sounds perfecto me, liz
Except for the increasing humidity, it's lovely!
aaah, that gave me my first 8, ty
ep 9/60; 10/77; 8/45
This has been the first week we've really seen much rain for about 3 - 4 months.
you really needed it, n'est-ce pas?
I need a small clue with that, pls, oo
The grass in the park is finally turning green again.
can anyone help with po 6/24 please
Sorry Anne. Don't have it.
it stays greenhere most of the year; we haven't had a hard frost for a couple of years
me either
don't have it anne but will look
poitad
for us,the leave and green are gone and we will not see anything green and growing(other than evergreen trees) untill next april:(
we still have some roses and snapdragons
Hawaiian taro root dish + song about a sugar ***ck
:( Crossy but I bet you had beautiful fall colours.
it was an amazing fall display
we are furtunate that our area has a large ammount of sugar maples, and they make the best colours in the fall
thnx o-o
I've only seen pics of a Canadian / US fall - the colours seem so beautiful.
we don't get bright colors here, no sumac or maples on the hillsides, so just yellow, brown and green
and it is the smell, liz, as you take a hike through the woods at that time of year.you can actually smell autumn and the seasons about to change
Hint for the ep words pls
Before I left England, I went around photographing the trees in Autumn and again snow shots in the winter. Memories.
ty oo but I've just gotten one of the 8's
it brings you very close to nature
ep 9/60 -- what santa checks: l*** + air force assemblies: b****
I love the smell just after the rain.
me, too, lizm and that's universal

Thx
was thinking the same,ruby

Morning all! Another biggun'!
morning Car - and not quite so easy
Good morning/afternoon all.
hi Haz
lynxxx, I've been good and put a few photos up for you.
Hello, Haz
Hello, o-o.
Lots of intermittent rain and showers today = fabulous rainbows.
postcard perfect! what lovely scenery. And that is you in the black bikini?
pots of gold at the end?
No! I wouldn't inflict my bikini body on the public, let alone have it photographed. Husband only realised afterwards that the sunbather was there.
So he 'says', Haz! LOL Good afternoon all. :)
you didn't let him get away with that so easily I hope
hi Jac
She was rather elderly but seemed to have decided not to worry.
Hello, Jacula!
Hi Haz! Hi Jacula!
Hi 0-0!
Hello, car.
Lovely phots, Haz.
or even *photos
Thanks - it's a very photogenic part of the world.
What are you up to today, Jac?
Me? Nothing very interesting, Haz. Just housework and mapping out a short story.
Can you map out in your head while doing the housework or do you need to be sitting at your desk?
LOL!
In the head first, Haz.
However, I'm Babbling and having a cuppa now. :)
good morning friends - CAR!!!
Recharging the batteries.
hi Trif
Hello, Trif.
Hello Trif.
Hi Trif!!!!! congrats again!

No worries! You will be great!
I'll echo Car
That's to be expected but it's wonderful that you've succeeded in getting there. Well done.
I must get going - goodnight everyone - but enjoy yuor respective days
'Bye lynxx
im funny that way. I worked hard for this, and, now that it's here, I am beset with all sorts of "what have I gotten myself into?" anxieties
Sleep well, lynxxx.
Good night Lynxxx! Lovely to "see" you!
bye lynxxx
The answer to that voice is, "I've gotten myself a new opportunity and healthy benefits. Now shut the hell up!"
Trif, that's perfectly natural but you'll be fine.
Stats please for the lower E in the fourth column?
ep9/60, ep10/77, ep8/45
TY haz!
car!!
crossy!
You're welcome.
crossy!
BTW...Trif you are in for the meet up in December in Boston, right?!??!?!
hi all
don't know anything about it, car....
Hello, TO.
Jill will be in Boston Dec. 17-25 and hopefully we can all meet up!
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
In 1950, talk show host Faye Emerson became the first woman in history to have a "wardrobe malfunction" on national television. To the dismay of censors everywhere, Ms. Emerson’s “Emersons†popped out of her dress.
oh indeed, car!
LMAO! Nice wording crossy!
hi haz
Hi TO!
hey car
may i come to boston?
YES!!!!!
everytime i see the name boston, all i can think of is that song
we will see. will be a very different holiday this year
Oh TO....
Hi TO.
Thanks for the ep words, Haz.
hey jacs!
TO...you are always welcome at our home!
((((((TO))))))
i keep typing epistle in hopes of coming near those ep words
Now, I am off. Time for the bus and then a quick drive down to the Cape. My DH found a wallet and I need to return it to the nice old lady it belongs to.
You're welcome, Jac.
good lord, car, can't you mail it???
bye car, what a nice errand! are you that near the cape?
No! It is full of money and credit cards and she is leaving for Florida on Saturday. She wouldn't be able to get on the plane without her ID>
TO, you've got the first five letters right so you're not a million miles away.
i once drove 500k to return a purse.she made us a nice lunch:))
It will only be about 30-45 minutes and it is a gorgeous day for a drive. My mom used to go to Sandwich all the time and is looking forward to going for the ride.
thanks, haz.
i've been working on this for half an hour or so and i am down to 92
Trif, want to come too?
I can swing by and pick you up!!!!!!
wow, you really are a wonderful person, car. Lovely that you are taking mom too...
82 left here and time I got back to work. Enjoy your drive Car. It's so nice to hear of honest people and kindness in today's world.
Have a wonderful day everyone!!! ((hugs)) all around!
I have tertiare's IEP review at 905 - what time are you leaving?
it is well that someone like you found that wallet, car:))
Bye, car, drive safely.
The last time I found a wallet and returned it was in Vegas...and we then won tons of money and came home with all of our traveler's checks.
9:00
karma
bummer. have a wonderful time, enjoy the sandwich glass
bye, car
bye, jacs
Bye, Jacula, see you again.
I once lost my wallet and it was returned sans money. I had 200 dollars in it. Two years letter I received a letter with the money. The letter said Christmas was coming and his wife said he had to return the money. He had my address after all that time.
wow, annie.
I still have the letter.
What a heart warming story, Annie.
That's amazing, Annie.
Awesome!!!
Yes, it restored my faith in mankind. Remember I worked at the track and I saw all sorts of things that happened. Not too honest.
Haz, your icon reminds me of the Lewinsky case when Pres. Clinton said "Define what "is" is.
i still do not have ep 8, is that before or after the 9?
I know. It just tickled me, Annie.
The ep is after the 10 and just removes one letter from the 9.
i hate to give up maru. perhaps they have him wrapped up as a present so i can keep him
maru?
ty
maru the cat.
ah, okay
i love the trick or treat photo. but i must admist. i looked at christmas decorations yesterday. *bows head in shame*
maru looks like our cat Buster. He is long gone and we still miss him.
You're forgiven, TO.
okay, no more babble for me right now...got to get ready to head over to school. love to all
Trif! Congratulations. You will be wonderful.
bye, trif, hagd
Bye, Trif. Enjoy the thrill of your new job.
but what passes as christmas music! i love all kinds of music, i will even listen to some hip hop but the poor child sounded as if she were wailing in pain!!!
no lie. it was just awful, and of course cranked up loud
Was this in the shopping area?
yes, but i heard carols last week, may have been in the super market. gag
I know, by the time Christmas is actually here, everyone is jaded.
many retailers are opening on thanksgiving day here, big controversy.
I think that has become the norm, TO.
We have one store in town which routinely puts Christmas decorations on display at the beginning of September.
well, some folks may need the money. but i fear, as with Sundays, it will become just another day and straight pay
Is it the fact that Thanksgiving is tradtionally a holiday that has upset people?
yes. it celebrates family. even if the women do all the work while the men watch football. :)
The stores will always say that opening on Thanksgiving or selling Christmas stuff early is due to popular demand. I think some people just view shopping as a leisure activity now and want it to be available all the time.
Anyway, I'd better get on with some housework. Have a good day and happy babbling to all!
yes. when your menols are lying around in a turkey induced coma or screaming at the tv, it is nice to have an outlet.
Bye!
bye haz, catch you later
bye Haz.
bye, annie, i have to go as well, i have an appointment at 10. i am down to 77 now.
bye Owl. I am 226 left to find. Have an easy day.
*have
ty, ho 4 yours is as well
yay, another substantial grid!

got ambushed there by my mom for a few mins
Lots of gaps...

i guess no clues. darn.
sounds like a root beer float for adulst
adults
I have nothing bigger than a 6 and I am ready for bed.
Root Beer Floats are the best - Stewarts Root Beer and Breyrs Vanillia. Cant Be Beat
nice - hazelnut and orange
Does anyone remember the A & W Root Beer Stands?
I don't even like bourbon... but that thing was great
scrabbs - you're by the ocean, you're se7/32 and plural
GaPeach - there are some in Detriot. when we go to visit family there we always visit one.
i remember A&W stands very well. with the girls who come to the car with the food. of course.
ty welk
i still buy that root beer
love A&W
with the frosted mug
you're the calmest, maybe because of medication - you're se8 (and you'll figure out the ones before easily)

That ep9 is still eluding me.
wa 6/33 help please
scrab... very close to nose bleed word
It's just like the 8 with a 3rd s
i's the 10 that is giving me problems.
ep9, remove an eye from ep10
wa6/33 is an elk,
ep: then the first person sing. word one letter, then a word meaning static or not moving. then the 10 has an additional vowel at the before the last two letters. but it was very hard to get them. and i cant get the 8 which i think is a variation on those two 9 and 10 words. just cant get it.
sounds like an allergie to a bad word for Italian

the first el6?
the 20: take the 9 and add another vowel before the last two letters of the 9.
sorry, i meant the 10 not the 20.
the first el 6...the most old one

oh ru, i've been looking at bloodhound puppies. i am weak.
bloodhounds are cute.. but slobbery
...and they don't live very long do they?
i've had basset hounds, i know all about slobber and pupkus
9- years I think
no.. they don't live long lives
less - maybe 7 i think
really.. i've met some 9 year olds
I couldn't take just 7 years ...that would kill me
12-15 is bad enough
the one I knew only got to 7 - and I agree with what you said Ru
yeah, i guess.
ts 5/12?
t + not happy + vowel
thank you for smacking me back into reality, lynxx - needed it
t & the Marquis de ****
ty
but does it not deserve to be loved for 7 years!!!
kinky lynn :D
bassets are pretty cute though - you don't want another?
pets die.... but if you'd love it and enjoy it... go for it
sure - if i were to get a rescue hound. but i've done that and to have only a couple of years would crater me
we had a basset when I was a kid... constantly tripping over his ears but lots of fun
i've had three bassets - they're better than cute :)
I've had a german Shepard and goldens since
I love german shepards too
great dogs
i do, too - have been looking into RCMP dogs that don't fit the program
<-- has to stop looking. two dogs is enough.
I've had 7 goldens in my life
I'll say - thats enough sh4.5 to pick up on a walk
there was one that I would give everything i have to have back again
welki's dogs: irish setter/cocker cross, 2 goldens, 2 border collies, 3 basset hounds
oh i remember, ru.

yes.. now there is Dylan..
my daily challenge in life
oh, you can, but 5-10 at leavenworth
poor Dylan - he has a lot to live up too
no.. not really lynn.. he's just different
(although i don't recall willy nelson doing any jail time)
are you doing obedience with him?
I'm glad I had my Monty.. and that we had a close bond. Dylan is just a pure dog and I love him for that
yes.. we're just about ready to compete next year..if my knee holds up
Willy did do jail time didn't he?
or was that for pot?
i don't bother competing with my dogs, they always win
the knee! still not done anything about that?
he should do jail time for writing on the road again as far as I'm concerned
no.. all these mishaps with Grannyrose scares me:D
too many things are unsettled in my life right now to be knocked out with surgery

hi seain
ty
lovely to 'see' yall :) Just back from a dinner with a non-Babble online friend.
He lives in San Diego, and was in town for work, so that was a nice treat.
nice dc... where did you all go?
Cafe Deluxe in Bethesda, Maryland
You have friends outside of bbable? Shocked look :D
a simple American bistro that executes consistently well.
well, ruru, there's a reason i'm not usually babbling on Fridays :)
perfect
Good for you dc
and barkeep made a *perfect* rob roy perfect.
my current must try and compare drink at bars is a side car
what is a rob roy?
a manhattan, but with scotch instead.
Whoa
ah
whoa?
did i use a grid word? :)
Never heard of mixing scotch
nah, we're just impressed you are sober enough to babel ; )
Lol
it was one cocktail. I had a full bottle of wine each of Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday.
not that i usually drink that much, but a got a shipment from a wine club, and they want me to rate the wines by the next shipment, so this past weekend, i got on task.
and yesterday, i opened a really nice citrus mead made by a friend of mine in Vermont.
cool. which wine club?
One cocktail kicks my buttons
oh wow... that sounds delish
sorry for all the chtt -- i had a coffee with dessert, so i'm a bit hopped up on caffeine.
it is lovely, kje, semi-dry, nice citrus flavor. I paired it with rapini braised with garlic, salt, and lemon tossed with farfalle.
de6 after remove soot?
That was butt...not button ...dang auto correct
I love citrus based drinks... can it be bought or is it just something he makes for himself?

congrats, kje
oh wow, thanks dc!
OK, I am off... must go finish annoying weed on FB before I head to bed!
g'night kje
That's good dc..I don't drink much hard liquor. .so a little gets to me
i go through a bottle of rye, a bottle of bourbon, and bottle of gin each about once a quarter. Not to mention a quantity of wine.
when I could drink it was Pabst Blue Ribbon
i can't have beer -- malt makes me get hives. I have to be careful with scotch consumption therefore, too.
I can't drink beer eit her
drinking that stuff is a gas
thank you, o-o for that de6
i once got horrible hives from a 2.5oz bag of rold gold pretzels -- they have a TON of malted barley flour in them it turns out.
Wow
I only like the taste of dark beers but beer gives me migraines
what is malted barley flour are you able to have regular barley, dc
hi 74 to go
i called the company. they sent me lots of free any size any type of Frito-Lay product coupons.
Friday nights would chug pitchers and then find something to hang onto
regulary barley and wheat are no problem, and if i don't eat enough of those my GI basically shuts down. Malted, they both give me hives.
it's weird.
sounds like interesting times, o-o.
No wonder you stopped by
BR... not by
Not really ... but stupid can be contagious
Auto correct
good evening, harpjane :)
There is a t shirt
So, nef, i've no clue what changes in the malting process, but my body does not like it.
stupid can, and when no one dies nor is seriously injured, it can be fun.
Until the next day
had to stop to avoid problems with meds ... not sure whether an alcohol addiction is worse than brain altering meds
or, perhaps more correctly, binge drinking ... had no withdrawals from stopping
Long-term, relative to _most_ of the meds, i think yes, alcohol addiction is worse.
I am not so sure about that
o-o, that reminded me of a patient I once had who admitted to drinking a bottle of booze on weekends with friends (but insisting he wasn't a drunk). He did go through severe DT's in ICU; then the family told us he also drank 2 cases of beer a week (but he didn't think that was alcohol!
Binge drinking is rough though
and I'm a total wimp when it comes to drinking. Even 1 drink and I suffer the next day from it.
I tend to watch what I drink
Wow before
Nef...wow
I have worn many mental health professionals out ... their suggestion is I will always be a nutter ... a half bubble off center .... I have not suffered in silence and remind them they are the purported pros .... if you cannot help me why to you keep seeing me?
DH teases me that he dated me because I was a cheap drunk.
well, o-o; at least you know it, right?
That is too bad BR.... they are not professionals then
I figure that at least as long as you are trying to get better; that's a huge step towards health
The epiphany is getting over it ... the reality no matter what is going on, I am responsible for my well being ... learn what you can from professionals but plow ahead on your own ... do not accept defeat ... do what you can despite the naysayers
I give you lots of credit, o-o. To continue to seek help in spite of what the "pros" said takes courage and determination. Our D-I-L is nuts but refuses to seek help. Unfortunately, I think that the path she's travelling won't end well.
yes, moderation in all things, not least things like alcohol, is important.
Not ALL things DC
dc i am also allergic to malt. never met anyone else who was. wow. cant touch beer. but look at bread ingredients. all have malted barley flour. it is terrible. i seldom eat bread now. doesnt matter what type. matzo is pure and so eat that all year. eat rice and pasta. no malt flour there. barley is in everything.and most cereals have malted barley flour. and i am allergic. i get hives, itchy throat, watery eyes, dripping nose, and face all red. and sometimes even fever. as i kid i would have a malted milk every sunday and was ill sun nite and mon.
The amount of malted barley flour varies a lot. I can't eat the store brand regular or artisan from Harris Tetter, but can from Wegmans, Safeway, and Whole Foods. I have some limited tolerance for the malted barley flour and malt, but very, very limited.
ruru, lots of sleep and lots of water and lots of sunshine are good, but too much of any or all can cause various problems, so yes in all things.
dc we should write this up somewhere. i have never met anyonebut me who is allergic to malt. i wonder if there are others out there.
night all. must go to sleep. am so tired. dc we will discuss this again i hope.
my sister is like that too. Our mom is not, and i know not for my father, and he's long dead, so i'll never know.
g'night mkg :)
Allergies are a weird thing
I had a allergy disappear after 25 years.
they are indeed, ruru. And dc, be careful because even if you "tolerate" some foods with malted barley in them; your body is still building up mast cells to fight that allergen
Really, Harp? What was it?
help with the sa5 after the mean people?>
Eggs used to make me sick. One day I was at a dinner party where it was going to be extremely rude if I didn't eat the quiche. I felt fine the next day so I tried it again.

Good point nef. Finding pure wheat flour with no malted barley flour is nigh impossible anymore, at least at any reasonable cost.

I hate to ask....
set it as5, we'll get to it later.
thanks
