Hi there, jbp
i was beginning to think everyone went away... ;-)
We are deep into the grid. Hope you are well.
back atcha.
I only have one question and, even tho it will land me in the PB... how I WISH that 'deathray' were an accepted word...
Why would it land you in the PB? However, I am not smart enough to know the answer :)
*in the voice of Darth Vader* I find enable's lack of acknowlegement of the word 'deathray' to be....disappointing.
b/c we are not supposed to type words in to the chat that are in the gr 4/7
heh
hi there Dachef. glad someone appreciates it.
But it isn't, so you're home free.
de 5/14 is part of the word, and it is here

I hope it won't be too bad, pug, the storm

I think our Rose is traveling home
I am good. Bit of a restless week with all the bad memories at the surface, but handling it pretty well. Our o-o had an interesting link for us yesterday about childhood trauma and I translated a part of it and sent it to the therapists :)
I missed rose a couple of days. I hope she is having a lovely time!
she sounded great
Don was sick yeserday
and you, joso, how are you doing?
aw... bad timing. I hope it came from overindulgence, grin, and not from a virus or bug.
the trip seems to be distracting her from the surgery, and happy to see more of her native land
awesome, joso, just what the doctor ordered then.
I am good, get to go gaming in 12 hours, (must get some sleep before then.
oh, yes indeed, a bit of sleep beforehand would be very nice. I hope you will have lots of fun gaming :)
she wasent getting a very good internet connection where she was and was looking forward to getting home
Evening all and hugs to you all :)
shame to sleep through it.
what kind of gaming is planned Joso
best holiday you can have... lots of fun on the way and then longing to be home again.
hi Liz :) *hug*
Hello Liz and how are you
rollplaying, in a sci fi space empire enviroment
Great thanks. Full after a lovely lunch with friends, who've just left.
oh sounds good!
sounds like fun
hi liz
and that sounds good too, Liz
Sat outside under our shelter as it stormed around us!
sounds like a nice outing Liz
uh=oh... all well, Liz?
glad you made it through a ha4y week, sprite and that o-o could offer some help.
it is pug, I could bore your ears off talking about this campaign, we've been playing the same game for 20 years
Yes, pugs. It was lovely. We had a barbecue with chicken, burgers and salads - 6 of us.
thanks Liz, so I am. o-o is a good one :)
then you should be an expert at it Joso
We've had quite a few storms this week - mostly in the afternoon / evening but that's normal for this time of year.
oh my! That long, joso! That is awesome. Must be really interesting indeed.
OO does do alot of good posting of things that seems to hit home
An astute person.
doesn't he just, pug. I have saved many of the quotes and links.
I don't have any right too, I'm not your parent or anything, but I am very proud of how you handle things now sprite, you face your problems much better than you did previously.
wonder if he can read our thoughts? lol
Just had to try Detroit! I knew it wouldn't be accepted!
thanks joso, and of course you have a right, you are my friend.
lol Liz, yeah I know. Tried too.
I like friends that are not afraid to be honest no matter what
me too
* sigh * home again, home again, jiggedy jig. sp lovely to have a reliable internet connection. hello and cooee to you all.
Hi Rose. Glad you're home safely.
rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lovely to see you. How was your trip? Already heard from pug and joso that you were enjoying yourself. Is Don better?
oh there she is! Hello Rose and glad you are home safe and hope Don is better
hi rose, i though I'd miss you today
thanx liz, DH's headache had just about gone by the time we went to bed last night.
Sounds like MSG then!
we are both so very relaxed. and, yes, dr liz....we suspect the msg.
poor man. Bit of a muffle for your trip, I think.
msg?
Monosodium Glutamate
YAHOO its a good day when all the gang is here! :)
a flavour enhancer usually used in chinese food
Probably spelt that wrong!
:)))
**** group hug****
It's good chatting with friends :)
ah, a food additive, now I see. Had to look it up, lol.
HUGS HUGS HUGS
{{{HUGS}}}}.....I'M BAAA~AAACK!!
very happy seeing you all here
it most certainly is!
sprite did you have a bad week, hun? i have been unable to check emails for 3 days.
don't you ever go on vacation ever again, ever ever, (unless it is to come to toronto)
Bit hard, Joso!
maybe a tad selfish
ptsd got triggered in group, rose, and then again in family therapy. But I weathered it reasonably well.
oh, dear.....what if you come with us? or we make sure i can access reliable internet?
a tad, at the very most, joso. Rose belongs here. :)
well I hope Joso when you move you are not gone from here too long
reliable internet would be ok, for me, rose. ;)
hehehe, rose if you get the chanch to bugger off on a 6 month world cruise you go girl, we will manage..... somehow
Sprite did the family therapy not go well
Just be sure that the cruise stops at ports near all of us!
*chance
it did, pug. It was just they wanted to map out my parents and Rob's. So back to memory lane for us.
ooo that would be nice! We'd jump on board and sail the world seas.
Ooooh! Over half and I hadn't noticed!
were you able to do that
lol, okay you lot...looks like a world cruise has to be saved up for...which one of you is going to tell don?
I was, pug, but barely. So all in all it is a bit... restless inside of me this week.
I will, rose. Right after I drag him aboard.
all of us can Rose--not much he can do that far away--lol
ugh, sprite....almost in the too hard basket, hun. no wonder you were down. xxxxxx
you might have a problem sailing up to pugland
true, no sea close by
Transfer for a river cruise to get to pugs.
well hurray for you Sprite, you done it and got through it with flying colors anyway
*hugs rose* It was a bit much, but then again, I think things don't happen for nothing.
*giggle* joso, have you never heard of the ships of the desert?
guess we need an airship by then
thanks pug :)
ooooh a dirigible cruise, how cool, cyberpunk tours inc.
Love the name!
I am game!
and you can teach us to do roleplay games, joso
marching around the world strapped to a camel is not my idea of fun rose
hmmmmm, so long as we have an unending supply of barf bags, i should be okay...lol
camels aren't that bad. And to pick up pug, I will gladly ride one.
endless barfing, ok rose, you take your tour, I'll take mine
ahh thanks Sprite
you belong with us, pug :)
I'll go get pug, on the Hindenburg II
I dont think you will find many camels here unless you are at the zoo. Iam not living in a dessert--lol
that airship will work fine.
i've got to tell you all a story. ages ago, don and i were leading a motorbike ride down to the gippsland area of our state. don really didn't want to go to Sale. so he planned the entire ride to miss it. on the ride, at a roundabout, he took the wrong exit and the whole ride ended up in....you guessed it....Sale.
roflolllll!
lol!
hehehehe
lol--thats funny for sure
while we were away our GPS unit kept giving us wrong instructions. coming home, don took over and ignored the instructions. the GPS went berserk. don said, you have my permission to cancel the instructions if you like, and if we end up in sale, throw the GPS out of the window.
lol!
ohh, I like don
roflololollll
so did the gps make it home too
Gotta love sat navs!
nothing beats a good man with a sense of humour
How about a bad man with a sense of humour?
once i cancelled the trip instructions we all, including the GPS regained some modicum of sanity.
I kind of outgrew the bad boy fascination, grin
*giggles* And here I am, still using maps...
really Sprite?
yeah, pug. My former boyfriend was one. Much more fun in the distance than as a partner.
My hubby used to laugh at me in London. We'd set the sat nav and I'd ignore it 9 times out of 10 because I knew better routes! Sat nav used to get sooooo upset!
suddenly no longer part of the conversation, I see this migrating to shoes and shopping next.
Lucky me! Good man! Good sense of humour!
Not for me Joso!
you are SO part of the convo, joso. We need you. We love you.
shoes? Not interesting. Shopping? A drag.
oops, girls , the joso is getting restless. quick, someone do something!!!
For sure we do!
Hugs Joso, heres a kleenex
Get out the tutu, Rose!
and you are both, joso. A good man. With a sense of humour.
sorry sprite, have nothing to contribute to the goodman badman debate, ask my brother
hey, sprite speak for yourself, shoes are always an important topic...lolol
don't worry, joso, bad boys are overrated ;)
yep, nice guy and funny too and -----------------
lol rose! Well I do need new ones. My pedicurist said so. Appointment with podotherapist next week.
btw, joso, I see you have your dog icon back! Long time ago. Only... not sure about the profile text in this case :D
Love living here! Rarely wear shoes, other than flip flops!
oh sounds divine, Liz
lol, Sprite - just had to go and read the profile! Not sure what Flosey or Crossy would think!
liz, naughty girl...they are thongs, no matter what the americans say...* giggle *. you's an aussie now, girl
Thongs in the UK have a different meaning. Can't bring myself to refer to flip flops as thongs!
ah, haven't updated the text yet
thongs? I thought thongs were butt flossers?
thongs here are underwear
Exactly, Sprite.
whoot!!!! aussie, aussie, aussie!!
First time I heard flip flops called thongs here, I laughed so much!
lol... will try and remember, rose. And not mix them up. Would be funny, a UK thong on my feet.
I bet Rose has thongs and flip-flops
Definitely Aussie Aussie Aussie but I have to draw the line somewhere! Have to sheepishly admit, do want England to win the cricket!
*pictures rose in tutu, thong and flipflops*
nope, just 2 types of thongs....
butt flossers, flosey is going to have a few choice words for you
hehehe joso :)
i hang the flip flops off the ea4
lol!
amazing, rose. And you still are looking hot!
Actually I have got a pair of flip flop earrings - worth the pb for that!
oh no you don't. Leave the pb at once. earrings is not in da grid!
:) And now I can go in myself and enjoy all the goodies... *looks innocent*
okay, DH has down loaded all our photos. will work on putting some into profile tomorrow.
well, I made to my happy halfway nbt and nbs, and was about to run off when I looked up to see this fascinating convo going on... figured I'd at least say hi to all you hilarious folks!
oh please do, rose!
hi rbud! *hugs*
hey rbud...
Howdy Rbud--long time no see
I love your icon, rbud :D
cant wait Rose
hi rbud
sprite, none of himself, as he was the one with the camera. but you get an id4 of where we have been.
grew up calling my flip flops thongs, and am disgusted that I can't any more. :P
Time for dinner. Hi rbud. Great chatting, as usual. See you all later - hugs.
"Hey honey, please get my thongs for me? I left them at the hairdresser's..."
enjoy your dinner, Liz *hug*
hugs and bye Liz
flip flip just does NOT roll off the tongue as easily as thong does... (probably a ruru joke there somewhere, lol)
enjoy, liz
*Big grin* I think so, rbud
bye, Liz!
Joso will have to fill in on the man part--lol
In Canada politicians who change their opinions with the wind are called flip flops
interesting. Good word for them.
bye liz
another blast of heavy rains I may lose my connection
*holds on to pug* No you won't.
I should push off, actually plan to do something tomorrow, nite all
* ties pugs down * hang on sweetie...
night joso, sleep well and have a lot of fun gaming later on *hugs*
Iam hanging on==:)
here last week snow and cold temps and today almost 70 with storms all day
night, mate. sleep tight. don't let the bed bugs bite...
jumpy weather, pug
good night Joso, have fun at your gaming
not unless they are 1.6 m, blond and gorgeous, rose
yes it is and makes me jumpy too with it being so freaky
I can imagine, pug. Very unpleasant.
well, i score a one then..;-(
lol rose! You are definitely gorgeous.
* giggle * sprite
the storm that came through earlier caused all the dogs to gather around me and making it hard to move a foot
oh, dogs and children... go crazy with storms. Poor things.
everyone is beautiful in th4 own way
amen to that, pug
I think that should be th5
Goooooooooood morning fellow Babblers xxxxxx Would somebody let me know how many words today please? xxxx (must pay up and join lol)

257 words, worzel, and hi. And yes, it is worth it.

good morning mum and thank you too xx
Hello Wor and its big and hard today

hello puglet and don't be rood lmao xx
and 16 7's
yesterdays was small and yucky and todays :(
how is everybody today? still sober?? xx

but wonderful chatting and friends makes up for the g4

I bet you are tired then
hey! Where's MY kiss?
speaking of possums
Don's playing possum?
well, its still quite early for me (only 9.50am here in uk) and haven't had my morning ciggie yet (filthy, dirty worzel!!) so I'm gonna go do that now and get some coffee then I'll be back to torment you all xx have fun and BEHAVE!!! xx
you leaving Rose:(
bye for now, worzel
before i go - KISS for Sprite x KISS for puglet x KISSES for mum xxxxxxxxxx
gone!!
hurry back and Kisses back
in one of the sinkholes we explored, a possum lives in and around the steps going down into it. it was actually begging for food. when DH put his hand out to pat it, it sniffed his shirt sleeve, decided it smelled like good tucker, and promptly bit him, through his shirt sleeve.
awwww! Poor Don!
oh no, poor Don
sure thats not what made him sick
was thinking same thing
*giggle* xxxxx for sprite, xxxxx for pugs. and i might add, there were a lot of hugs earlier. ;-)
hehehe, true rose. *hugs* and kisses for you.
no, don't think so. i smeared the bite with anti-bacterial hand wash immediately.
bear hugs to you Rose and Sprite too!
and for you, pug {{{{{{pug}}}}}
that should do the trick, rose, indeed
think we all got our sugar rush now--lol
when you see the photos you will be amazed. these are small volcanic craters, which once were just a hollow under the crust. at some stage the top collapsed and left a small crater, open to the air.
oh wow
is there people living there
one of the land-owners, in the 1800's, land-scaped his, and it is planted as a formal garden. just amazing.
are they not afraid of losing their homes in a sinkhole
some werepart of people's property, others are public/government owned.
the major one in mount gambier is called blue lake. if you google it, you will be stunned. this one supplies the town with it's water supply.
omg... that is not called Blue Lake for nothing
absolutely, sprite. isn't it stunning?
very much so.
hah. Found one 8.
nice job
*happy dance*
happy dance with happy feet? lol
hehehe indeed... doing the penguin waggle
back in a few minutes, need to hang up the laundry
good (late) morning
Morning hellos and hugs Ruby
{{little pugs}} I'm happy to see you. Is everything all right?
things okay with me but having a stormy sunday
Hows things with you Ruby
cold here, but no precipitation we're almost cold enough for snow and I'm not looking forward to it
my son is now in regular touch, so I am much happier, even if the "situation" hasn't been moved forward. At least he's helped me organize a pan of action
we had snow and cold temps until this weekend and we now have this freaky warm spell that is putting us in the path of storms today
do you get tornados in that part of Indiana?
Iam so happy for you Ruby. You need him to be there for you
yes we do Ruby and we are under a watch for them today along with bad winds
is the sky green-ish? When I lived in southern Illinois, when there was a tornado watch, the sky would get green. But I never saw one
we've already have had a thunderstorm and heavy rains this morning
its still dark out and cant see the sky as of yet--thats what I hate most. Can not see the sky
I feel the same way. When we have the bad windstorms at night, it iss much scarier than in daylight
I know, in the light you can pretty well read the signs of a bad storm coming
good morning all.. windy and warm here.. but temps will be falling soon.. so much wind lately..the weather. not me.. well not so much me..
I', ba-ack!
hi ruby and ivesy *hug*
haha {{ivesy}}
Hi Ivesy
{{sprite}}
good Sprite! Did you dance while hanging out clothes
you having freaky weather today too Ivesy
ruby, so happy for you your son is being supportive. Makes a lot of difference, doesn't it *hug*
our library had its annual auction last nite.. looks like we made some good money for our library... wall to wall people..
always, pug. I seem to have this very sexy hip swing while I do it, at least my love seems to think so :)
thats good Ivy
oh that is wonderful, ivesy! Wish I could have been there... so love book sales.
lol--kinda like pole dancing
*grin* indeed...
I wish they had library/yard/barn sales here. They used to have an "attic" sale close by, but now they've moved ti down to the beac, o it' too far
so many things to bid on... i got a great wine set, with glasses.. two bottles bella rosa hmmm..
I love book sales too---you can find alot of older books at a sale like that
morning ivesy, ruby. {{hugs}} to you both. welcome back sprite. apologies for leaving briefly. had to get pj's on and meds ready.
we used to have one yearly for children's clothes. Amazing, the stuff I got from there. High quality for almost nothing, and in very good state too. Wish they had it for adults' clothes as well.
ivesy, have you heard of an australian poet called adam lindsay gordon?
*hugs rose* Glad to see you back
no granny, but now i will look him up!.. wonders of internet...
{{rosie}} I haven't seen you in sooo long! Missed you lota, honey
this auction is items that the businesses in the city donate.. so many things...and people so generous.
we visited a cottage where he once lived. the guy there was a devotee. and he uncovered an unpublished poem of his last december. i now have a copy. this poem does not appear in any of his printed works to da4.
oh that is fun too, ivesy. Good for finding a treasure or two.
oh rose, how special!
missed you too, ruby.
that is great granny... i found an old very old copy of gone with the wind when we were cleaning out our library.. i love old books.
the older the better
i love garage and car boot sales. people sell the most incredible things. i once picked up a medical dictionary, pre 1900's for 10 cents.
that is a treasure!
off to sprite's resto for lunch. They have sweetbreads these days, one of my favorite foods
*woof*
how nice, ruby. Enjoy :) *hug*
I have no use for garage sales .... already have a garage.
enjoy, ruby....hope himself isn't too grumpy.
picked up all the classics.. old copy of ROOTS, i want to read the classics.. even found lady chatterlys lover..... havent tackled that yet lol
enjoy Ruby, catch you soon I hope--hugs and wave good bye
lol, o-o. how about a car boot, then?
bye ruby hagd lunch
such nice finds, ivesy
Morning OO==how are you this morning
hi o-o. Glad to see you. And I think that puts you in the perfect position to sell a garage.
sweetbreads are brains yes?
ummm, lower, joso
Rose, what is a car boot? JOSO--thought you were off to sleep
pancreas and thymus, I think, joso
can't you sleep, joso?
boot is what brits call the trunk
ahhh, thanks
sprite, over here sweetbreads are the male reproductive organs, two of them.
He cant stay away from us Sprite-lol
ok sprite, mmmmmmm mmm, much better :::-(((
particularly, bull's .....
bonnet is hood
ah, I see, can be lots of glands. Ugh. May I skip this dish?

Hi sprite I think I will pass on the food on offer!
Holiday rose! Thought you may have gone 4 your surgery
me too, Anita! Give me a nice steak anyday, over sweetbreads. *shudder*
Yep ... but, no way I am wearing car hood on my head.
I'll stick with hot dogs, which has all the same stuff, but well disguised
Lol
one more week till the op, right rose?
Sounds good to me joso
lol o-o
OO, is that a picture of you?
i have actually not bitten the nails on my left hand for nearly a week. stress levels way down.
very very good, rose. Now keep focussing on the pictures of your trip, and on Don, and on us of course.
that is so much better Rose
That's good rose, stay in that place!
no, puglet ... most days I am a male
yeah sprite. came home to a couple of letters. it appears this time i have to have blood cross-matched, ready for a transfusion. and i have to go and get some special antiseptic stuff to shower with. the night before, and that morning.
ah, new developments, rose. Sounds good though. Very careful of them. You know I will be with you every step of the way, don't you?
good good good, lets just get this done already
Iam so glad OO, that person looks very sad
you aiming for fw, joso?
just got it
brb need coffee
just what do you think is keeping me on the straight and narrow, so to speak, sprite?
wtg joso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTG JOSO!!!!
your strong inner core, for starters, rose. And your beloved Don. And your friends :)
;-) hugely at you, dear
strait and narrow, have you stoped drinking rose
{{{{{{{rose}}}}}}}
for goodness sake! are we into miracles now, joso?
the profile pic is intended to add emphasis to the quote in the profile.
yea, wasn't buying it myself
yeah, I guessed as much, o-o. Not sure about God, but am very sure the church is hostile towards women.
o-o, some women in my mother's former church insisted on calling God, her. which is completely against what the bible says. the word is ' abbe ' i believe, which means father, not mother.
as the man said, who almost died and was asked if he had seen God while he was deadish: "I did. She was beautiful, voluptuous and black."
*giggle* sprite, my friend june and i have this delightful discussion every so often. we can imagine adam saying, but SHE gave it to me....
I would think god, ya know being god and all, is whatever he-she-it damn well wants to be at any given moment.
*grin* indeed. And I think so too, joso.
something to think about, God has the face of your worst enemy.
i agree with joso!!!!! yeaaaa
I, for one, can't believe there is a Father if there is no Mother. And on a more serious note, I also think it is impossible to define God. There are no human words that can catch the essence.
oh rose, yes. That is a very good one.
a person has to have great faith to belive that a being created all the universe.....just poof and it wsa there
sprite, the bible tells us, heaven is completely beyond our perception. i really get a giggle from all these preachers claiming th4 they know what heaven looks/feels like.
g-d is ineffable
on the other hand, ivesy, look at for instance a ladybug and convince yourself it is a random act of nature...
how about the books people are writing claiming they were in heaven.. even the little boy
rose, too true. As soon as people think they KNOW, they have stopped believing.
hiya mab :)
hi all.
just here for an insomniac moment
hey mab
i know sprite... sometimes when i look at things i say wow god really did a beautiful job... other times i say... y does god let this happen...
had to look up ineffable. Yes, indeed mab, that is what I mean
same here, ivesy. That is about the hardest part of faith, I think. Hunger and war and suffering... murdered children, abuse... hard to figure out how God can let it all happen.
i say god y, did u let my son become an addict.. but i know it wasnt god.. it was my sons choice..but y did he give him that choice... goes on and on
sorry you can't sleep, mab, but glad to see you
thats simple, free will. free will means some people will make evil choices. just like free speech, if you want free speech, be prepared to hear some things you don't like.
didnt think Dr. God was going to let me back on
rough time connecting?
we have free will, as joso says. perhaps g-d does not intervene. an idea.
keep getting red boxes and having to refresh
There are about 34,000 different Christian groups in the world since AD 30. This is according to the World Christian Encyclopedia published in 2001.
not that, if inclined, one should not ask for intervention
hello, hello
oh, good, back in
you there Rose
What I find so intriguing is how all these people are inclined to tell us about what we are told we are incapable of understanding.
that's what we get for discussing theology
da4 babble lost my last 2 posts.
I had trouble too Rose and Sprite must be too
same for me... babble had more than just a hiccup
exactly, o-o.
yeah we are all back!
true, o-o
so true OO
lol mab :)
a big hiccup and a message from dr. g-d.
ok, may I please beg a clue for the de6/36?
divine intervention?
sugar, sprite.
uses the big point letter
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them. we are in god's presence
combo word meaning ' right ' de + cross + ***pic of capricorn/cancer
thank you both
we are always in god's presence, then, here in Babble. We gather in the name of dr. God.
lol, sprite...love it
A realationship with God does not just come from going to church, I think
definitely not, pug. And we don't need a church to gather in His name either.
right pugs. our relationship with God becomes real for us when He steps in, and changes our lives, for the better.
no, it comes from attending shul :]
When I am delusional, I have my own gathering
kidding
one of my favorite bible quotes is (don't know the exact wording) that when you take one step towards God, he takes a whole lot of steps towards you.
awww, o-o. [[hugs]] mate
lol mab! :D
o-o :D :D
ah, that was what one of my lost posts sa4.
the most real relationship with him is the one behind your own eyes
really? We DO share a brainwave, rose :)
that is what I like in the Jewish faith. That nobody can tell you how your relationship with God is... but that you have your own unique one.
on our way home today, i saw a sticker on another car's back window. it sa4...' coexist '...and the letters were all symbols of the major religions.
oh that is awesome, rose!
good one
Having heard a few fire and brimstone preachers, I am not sure God coming my way is a source of comfort.
googled it. That is a brilliant find.
i thought it was rather good. it echoed how i felt about religion. we all are walking towards God, we just choose different paths.
oh o-o, those Old-Testament preachers? Scary people. As soon as I get the feeling they forgot that God is love, I stop listening.
i agree
amen to that, rose. I always say each religion is a beam of the same star.
I agree too and OO no other can comfort as He
sprite, you found it on google, now th4 is awesome.
in judaism we often use 'ha shem'
lol rose, that was easy. Google 'coexist religions' and images, and you get a whole page full of examples.
what does ha shem mean, mab?
it means 'the name' and skirts a little the pronoun issue
just saw them, sprite. wow!!!
oh, that is nice!
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
mab, is th4 the same as yahweh?
not sure, rose. i don't think so. we don't actually have that term.
must be a catch ... or I speak a tongue of incomprension
we do sometimes say yud hey vav hey which is the name of g-d,
yeah, it isn't that straightforward, alas, o-o. *hug*
those are the hebrew letters and some say that's yaweh
YHWH, right? Or something like that? In transcription?
*giggle* sorry o-o. was cught up in a discussion on ha shem and yahweh. perhaps you can enlighten us?
but not in judaism
yes sprite. sorry, i explain badly
no, not at all, mab. It is fascinating to me.
in judaism, the idea is that we do not know how to pronouce g-d''s name, so we use the letters
it's that way in the torah
that makes sense to me. We need something to 'call' Him and talk about Him, since we are human. But it is good to have a 'name' that acknowledges we don't know the Name.
oh, so we put in vowels to make it pronounceable?
when we see the letters, we usually read 'adonai'
'master' in hebrew
there is no trinity? and god's name is not god?
definitely not God, I think. That is just a human label for convenience's sake. Trinity... I don't know. That is a whole other ballgame.
g-d is one for jews. big theological concept beyond me to explain
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... I sometimes call god The Word
not a bad label, o-o
that's rather good oo
Kind of says how important words just are, dont it
yes, important, but... what is the word... not reaching far enough
that's why we love the word games
o-o, perhaps to leave the Trinity out of the discussion. most religions agree there is one major God. and th4 is what links us all. by what name is not important, the concept is.
look how far we reach just right here with words
hehehe true :) Especially Babble. Where else can we look for common and uncommon words while discussing The Word?
That is why for me the only concepts that are important are two. Have faith. Understand, "Thy will be done." I am the way I am because God has chosen me to be.
absolutely, o-o
and however difficult your road is, o-o, your existance has meaning. To me, for one.
maybe so OO, but look at the help you give others right here
two jews, three opinions, they say, but applies to everyone i reckon
lolol mab, how apt!
yes, goes for each religion
lol, mab...goes for every religion
pug, that is another of my favorite quotes: God has no hands but ours.
snap, rose my dear soul sister :)
omg, sprite....will you please stop reading my mind?
never, rose. I like your mind. I love your mind. And I love to read. Tsk.
lololol
my cousin always tells me ..god cant help you becuz you dont step aside.... let go let god.
oh I like that one, ivesy.
nice, ivesy
did you guys ever read that Memo from God?
no
looking for it now
well, it is said that g-d did not part the red sea until the jews stepped into the water, a sign of faith
here is a link: http://tinyurl.com/pxc3hnk
didn't know that, mab. I like that.
of course moses had to browbeat them into doing it
sprite, so profound, and so true. all good to hang onto.
handpicked by God, so he could :)
I think so too, rose. Especially the part about letting go and not worrying, and the part about being grateful for what we have.
If let go means not trying to understand and not ask for help ... like show me the path I am to follow ... than does the bible have credence and truly ignorance is bliss
moses, why did you lead us into the wilderness? there weren't enough graves in egypt? yada yada yada
I think asking for help and trying to understand are different from worrying. Worrying is quite literally hoding it in your hands all the time and plucking at it. Trying to understand is opening your mind to encompass more of understanding your situation.
lol mab, indeed. Nag, nag, nag.
sprite, hopefully you can find this...it is a prayer of joe seremane south africa. called you asked for my life....i try to read it every day, it makes me truly humble, and contrite, when i realise how many times a day i turn from what God wants me to do for Him.
that was a great memo... going to print it when i get to work tomorr..
Oh, how is one like me to understand what a gross of professionals could not? And, God could have saved me a lot of money if I am supposed to have the capacity to understand what makes absolutely no sense
found it. Love it. Yes.
But whining serves no purpose
*gives o-o a big hug* It is a tough journey.
rose, someone I know wrote such a beautiful song about God... will try and translate it for you and send it by email.
OO, maybe you are putting too much trust is the understanding of man--and as it says in the Bible we wont ever understand all there is to His ways
oh and to you too, pug
{{hugs}} from me too, o-o
what I do understand is God's will shall be done .... what I think or do is meaningless.
that's beautiful, rose. thanks.
i think what people do is tremendously meaninful
and I want to see it once again... what you think and do and say and share has meaning, o-o. To me, for one.
mab, sprite, it is also heart-breaking, when you understand just how much you individually fail God each day. i try to change one thing in how i live each day. it might be the same thing for several days.
I agree, mab
so true rose
I dont think God would see your thouoghts or what you do meaningless OO. Nor do I think people who cares here thinks that either. We all were made in his image and if we look at each person we meet along the way it just might be we see bit of him is each one
I don't want to see it that way, though, rose. It is not failing. When we try, it is good enough. We are not meant to be perfect.
I agree with you there too, pug. We all carry a glimp of God's Light in each of us.
it shouldn't be such a struggle, but it is. pugs, i love your attitude.
ok, rose, help me here. I get confused with the thou's and thy's. Honorary used, 3rd person, is Thy?
* snort * sprite, one of my favourite sayings is...i may be a christian. it does not mean i am perfect, just forgiven. ( read believer in God )
I dont think God meant our lives or our faith to be such a struggle through out life, I think we as human makes the journey that way and if we didnt have failures we wouldnt need Him
hehehe I like that, rose. I am about as imperfect as it gets.
sprite, thy is a belonging pronoun, like your
da4. Is there a Th-- something for... sorry, 2nd person, not 3rd. In stead of You?
thou is a noun like i
In Summa Theologica. Aquinas argues man is capable of knowing God.
thee??
ah, thanks rose, then I need the Thou for the translation.
Thee? See, there we go again. Those Thees and Thous and Thys are confusing!
I think we all know him in a small dose but none knows the whole of him
* giggle *
googled it, found a very handy table.
exactly, pug, that is my feeling too
and, may I add, I have struggled immensely with God and faith for most of my life. It was not that I didn't believe. I did. But I also believed God loved everyone but me.
good morning my friends
I think of Him as the purest whitest light ever--more so then the sun,yet it dont burn the eyes yet it could blind
Morning Crossy
thou is nominative, thee is objective, thy and thine are possessive
the omnis are interesting ... as is the proposition all that is bad in my life is my fault.
i so much like especially the last paragraph of the seremane prayer
pug, in the books I have written I only ever mention the word Light for the divine power. :)
that's where the hope is
argh o-o.please don't believe that. No way it is your fault. If that were true, a little child being beaten and abused would be to blame for that as well. I am pretty sure it doesn't work that way.
mab: true. And hope is very important to me.
((sprite))
no matter if any of you believe this but once in a very very dark time in my life He came to me in the light of day while on my knees scrubbing the floors in such a light
that's a beautiful thing, pug. i surely do believe it.
g'day crossy
heyyyy crossy! *hugs* Missedyour entry, sorry.
howdy,granny
OO, Dont you think God put you here to give you the food for the soul to carry on>Never would he forsake you
howdy,puglet
pug, of course I believe you. You are blessed. That is so beautiful
Howdy Bacon Lover! lol
Yes, pug. How wonderful. If God came to see me, he likely would send an angel first to gag me.
closest I have ever been to God is after I miscarriaged. I was hurting so much, but all the while it was like there was this warm cape around my shoulders, giving me comfort.
oh OO, youre funny---your words helps so many
if He did, o-o, there would be no gagging! Comforting, more like. Respecting too. You are worth much more than you think.
mab, are you a messianic jew?
i believe that god sent my cousin sam to me the nite before sam died.. i saw him in the room , he smiled and kissed me on the cheek, i belive he was saying goodbye. he passed away the next day
hello
thats so nice Sprite. Gave you the strength to go on
Hello Fan
g'day mlfan
hello pug
g day granny
hi mlfan
no, no, i'm the regular kind of jew.
O stats please?
hi sprite
That was nice of him to do for you Ivy
messianic jews are christians.
wow ivesy... must have left a lasting impression on you
oh it did sprite. i will never forget it.
oa4/5
ives, God sent my grandmother to me. i was going through a harrowing night with my first child. it was an amazing experience. since then God has given me several messages, and support in unlikely situations.
we HAVE a body, but we ARE a soul and have been given a finite time to walk this planet.all we need to do in this life is live as best we can with ourselves and our god, because in the end those are the only two we have to answer to. So smile warmly, laugh often, celebrate the small victories as they come,do a kindness as it is contaigous and pray we leave the world in just a bit better condition that when we first set foot upon it
duhh ty sprite
live, love laugh
I too have had Him do things for me, things that may not mean anything to others
thats a nice road to travel Crosshair
hmmm, mab. from what i have seen, a jew who still practices judaism, but believes th4 the Christ was the messiah, is a messianic jew. i agree it is a very interesting concept.
2nd column i stats please?
another duh one. io4/4
mlf, io4, a little bit
very nice, crossy. *hug*
God's Jewish name: http://www.jewfaq.org/name.htm
i should clarify: to jews messianic jews are christians. as if that makes any sense.
ty granny
if i do nothing else in this life of any use,i am comforted in the fact that i have the love of a good woman and a son to continue after me as the best part of both of us and my immortality so why should i worry about tomorrow like the man said "worrying about tomorrow is like trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon"
actually, the need to differentiate so carefully is very human. And not at all divine.
i need one more for nbt.. C stats please?
ce5/14 wood sort
western red ce5, type of wood
so you dont ever worry Crossy? lol
ty sprite
nbt
aaggghhh, sprite, will you please stop reading my mind????
I think Rose needs that teaspoon-lol
not overmuch.puglet. but some,i am human and cannot stop my little mind grinding away.
yay, mlfan
ty granny
hmmpphhh, just what are you saying, pugs? lol
Igiggles*
with 34, 000 christian denominations ... not including and other religions ... you would think we cannot know what we are incapable of knowing ...
Iam happy for you Crossy that you have such a great life and great love
but after facing death so many times i learned not to sweat the small stuff. i mean why bother when the next blood test on some sunny tuesday afternoon could stop my life in its track again as i gamble for my life with another oncologist
well, when you start up that worring again that Crossy needs to pass you that spoon
yeah, crossy.i he4 you, buddy.
yup,teaspoon
TR 9 is that an extension of another tr word?
o-o, I agree. We can't.
* nodding head * pugs....the ever wise...thanx hun.
oh, very good, o o. what i was trying to say except infinitely better than i was doing.
nope, mlfan. tr*, three prefix + someone who believes in God.
Look rose! A squirrel with a teaspoon!
lol
i mean the name of g-d explainer
someone who believes in 3 gods, lol
lolol, sprite
Yes, mab. The article helped me bunches
that's a good website. i've used it before.
As I have implied in the past, I lost some faith in god when my favorite wall ran off with the ceiling.
*giggles*
nearly 11:30pm here. i think i need to be in bed...xoxoxox to all of you
night dear Rose and hugs and sweet dreams
sweet dreams, rose. thanks again for sharing the prayer.
Is that really Gods fault OO
i got the th6 which is a belief in God
night rose, sleep well and dream even better. *hugs*
a believer, mlfan. Prefix for 2 and for 3 are valid too.
got it
:)
* poof * now add the tr3 which means three, mlfan
as an omnipotent, God could have conjured a different result.
can anyone give me stats for any 8 please?
at8/45
got it ty sprite
nbt and nbs
yw
prehaps that would not have been the best for you---and you may not know that for along time to come OO
rose and pug, sent you the email with a translation. Forgive my english errors.
i am out of here poof
He does tell us all things works out for the good, I think
bye Fan, hand
Again, why ask if I will receive only what already has been ordained?
thanks Sprite
i can think back in my life and count so many disasters that altered the path of my life so that i am where i am today. i do not think of them as spears thrown at me by and angry god,but more like rocks in a stream that alter my course to a unknown future. would i have met my wife if i had not moved up here from toronto? most certainly not. Would i have gotten the jobs i did if i never had been run over by that car in 79? probably not. Would i have the same outlook on likfe if i had never gotten my 3 doses of the big c? definatly not.
again, does g-d intervene? it's a question.
yep, there's one of my knots as well, o-o. I think, maybe, that asking puts us in the right mood and mode to receive. That the asking is for our benefit, not for His.
I cant answer for Him,OO, but talking to him gives one hope and you are here for a reason or you wouldnt be
well put sprite
If God does not intervene that asking is meaningless.
definitely a question, mab.
and well put crossy too
OO, He does things on his terms not ours
how else is the bible to be understood accept by an understanding we are capable of .... if we are incapable of understanding the bible why believe in it?
mmmm, disagree oo, but it's a discussion worthy point
one of the things that make it hard to discuss, I think, is that the whole concept of God isn't just a mental thing. It is also emotion, and energy, and not just logic.
and He is not the one that shovels out the bad but he will make the bad into good in his time
sure, which is exactly why what I what is a futile exercise
possibly g-d gave us the raw materials and free will and let's us go to...
i just wish the church of king james time had never edited the hell out of it.the British museum is trying to restore a 4th century copy and i am most interested in the final outcome
I do not believe there is free will if only God
God's will counts
you may be right, o-o. I just don't know.
I feel the same Crossy--much have been taken from the Book through time
same here, crossy. I have always felt it kind of ridiculous to take literally a bible which has been translated first and then edited.
we make choices and if they are not God's we are sinners
God loves sinners. Or he wouldn't have created so many of us.
OO, we were all born so but we do matter
God could of purged evil and sin
sin has a component of intent .... how could we be guilty of a sin that adam and eve committed?
I agree. We are responsible for our own adult choices. Not for those of others.
i do not spend my life trembling at every mis-deed or bad thought o-o ,i just live my life as best i can,pay things forward when i can and every day try to be a better person than yesterday. If there is no hope at all,on the 7th day he could of flung the entire works down the drain and worked on the dolphins or bees instead.i am sure they would run the planet better than us
You just have to have faith OO-either you do or you dont. Like the wind in a way, you feel it but cant see it and it can be evil in itself or mild and caressing
i've heard jazz musicians discuss how they're going to play a tune; inevitably one will say 'just play.' in life, maybe just live.
indeed, mab, the best way to do it,is just to do it
Ultimately, I am a believer .... I hang onto a faith in a god who says he/she has a good plan for me.
amen, o-o. I am very glad you are alive. And a babbler.
hello again, everybody
me as well--OO---I find so much wisdom for each person here
hypnotizing mab......
(from)
hi ruby, wb. How was lunch? Did you enjoy your sweetbreads?
Are you a scholar and teacher, mab? how do you use your Hebrew?
off topic for a sec,but is anyone here entered in the november book in a month writing contest?
((ruby))
fireworks :)
not me, never heard of it, crossy. Should I be?
i tried that once.
wtg Anita!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not me, dont know what that is
w2g Anita
ty sprite
it's a fun thing.
great exercise
ty pug. right lunch time 4 me. poof im gone be ev1
sounds like fun.
bye Anita enjoy
very bad novels
enjoy, Anita, and have a grand day
well,it is almost over now, sprite but you can google it. you have to write a 50,000 word book in exactly one month. that is about 2000 words a day leaving one day for editing and the winner get published
yeah, I googled it, crossy. Looks like fun. Maybe next year. As mab says, nice exercise
nanowrimo.org
oh Sprite, you would like that! Did you do it Crossy
http://nanowrimo.org/
snap
oh but it is national. Only for americans then.
I could use my Amnesia Chronicles
if only you could remember where you put them:)
hahah
he he
if I only could remember to write... errr... what was it again?
of course, they are more appropriately short stories
2000 words of clean copy a day is a tough grind
molly was going to help me write my memoirs, but she's disappeared. I miss her
what did you write Crossy
best to have a support person to edit as you go and help with retyping
yep, that would ask a lot of dedication, crossy. Especially if the end result should be good. Who the heck READS all those 301,000+ novels??
the idea, though, is you don't have time to revise. you just churn it out.
molly will be back, probably, ruby. She put her foot in her mouth a bit and has withdrawn, but that has happened before and she always comes back.
no, puglet, i did not enter this year
Crossy, so glad you're here right now. Have you tried Pandora on your Roku? It's music streaming and you create your own "stations" with the types of music you want played on them....it is fabulous!
I hope so, sprite, as she was always ironic/funny/critical and, generally, interesting
and i think nonwrimo is not a contest actually. just a challenge.
*hugs ruby*
Is she related to you Ruby--lol
i think the best way is to start with bullet note and ideas, because you have 11 months to prepare. remember there is no one watching you 24/7. you can have all the rough copy you wish at the ready by oct 31st
hm, that would be cheating, crossy
are you saying I'm critical? Ironic? funny? moi???? lol
((mimi)) i ended up not getting a roku, but a smart tv.it has all the goodies inside already to stream whatever i want off the net
I think you are funny and interesting, and Iam not sure just what ironic means so wont comment on that
See if Pandora is available...I'll bet it is.
42 left. Am very much enjoying this gr4 on this Sunday, since I have all the time in the world today.
i think it looks like great fun and i plan on entering next year
irony is kind of saying the opposite of what you mean, to emphasise the actual meaning. It is a bit tongue-in-cheek.
I'm not ironic pugs, more like I view the world straight on
that chat has been over the mountain too today
indeed
and you have not lived till you are sitting comfortably in your la-z-boy chair and playing babble on a 51 inch hdtv;)
I like you Ruby and thats straight on!:)
whahaha that will never happen to me, crossy. Happily playing from behind my puter.
it's mutual, red-haired pugs!!!!
the money i am saving (90 a month) by having no cable tv is paying for both the smart tv and for netflix in record time, sprite
couldnt you go any bigger Crossy--lol
yes,i saw a 70 incher there last time i was in
:)
the problem here is that every time we try to upgrade anything, we need a technician to come and explain it and then it'snever without glitches
aw crossy, I am not worth such a thing. Almost never watch tv.
Is “ironic†the most abused word in English? http://blog.dictionary.com/ironic/
but i wanted lcd hdtv and not projection
o-o please!!!!
it is ironic,o-o
lol
we watch TV in bed because it's the only place in the house warm enough at night
you must have a huge room Crossy
where you can cuddle Ruby?
hah *smug* I didn't do badly with my definition of irony then, o-o :)
our bedroom is just big enough for the king-size bed and the TV at its foot; ythe rst of the BR is a sitting area (for putting on shoes, etc
that is exactly why we did it the way we did, sprite.we did not watch all the crap on commercial television, but still wanted to pick and watch the odd movie or show, but on our terms, not theirs
NOT! hahah
lol, now now Ruby--if not with hubby then furry kids?
sardonic too
hm, forgot that one. Must look it up.
can you imagine my 2 big stinky, dirty kids in the bed? OMG
well, puglet, 51 across is roughly the size of a standard china hutch, so i removed the dining room table and chairs and turned that entire area into an entertainment room
Two shows on Netflix for you, crossy....Leverage and Kidnapped. Really good.
sometimes they both get on my lap 130 lbs of fur
i want to see orange is the new black as well
ah. Sardonic is more derisive than ironic.
dirty puppies
crossy, have you seen Luther?
argh ruby, no. There wouldn't be room for mr ruby for sure.
no,i have not,ruby
well glad I didnt use it then ----
stinky big dogs, especially with this dam p weather
I tried watching "Orange" but just didn't like it....others seem to, though. Also, they have "The Killing" and are extending it themselves so it ends well...also quite good.
it is worth it and there are 3 seasons, available on Netflix (which I don't get), I imagine
Also, the big C. It was great to be able to laugh at "our" isease
they are upgrading our netflix as well.think the rollout started last wed, mimi
Ruby, I agree...Luther is very good.
so many good things to watch,so little time
would you ever use this one, sprite? gormless
so many good books to read, so little time left for tv, lol
got that right,sprite!!
gormless? Lol, sounds great. Must look up meaning, hold on.
Idris Elba is amazing!
between english classes, life and the odd nexflix show,i am lucky if i get to read a book a week!
with babbling and the chatting and reading very little time for tv for me
I couldn't watch them if that's all I did, but I "watch" while on the computer and doing other things.
my poor little e-reader is stuffed to the brim with books
ooo I like it, o-o. Not sure if I would use it, but it is a fun word. I know a few people like that.
I read in the afternoons in front of the fire, but from 8:45\PM onwards, it's TV time
what do you like to read Ruby
I have used sciolist and ultracrepidarian
lol! That is awesome. Great words if one is able to use them.
I like short fiction, much of it by Canadian or Irish women plus the New Yorker and the Int'l NY Times -- that takes up my 2 hrs of reading time
OO, are all these big words in your head or are you using something to retreive them
right now i am reading Boys Life by Robert R. McCammon a good book and i highly recommend it
hm, I am definitely an ultracrepidarian. I hope not a sciolist though.
what kind of book is it, crossy?
I often absquatulate
#20 in the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series is out in two days...can't wait...have read of them. It's the most fun you'll ever have reading..great light funny books.
not even half, but the fire is luring me closer....see you later, kids
Bye, ruby...stay warm.
bye ruby, have a good one and say hi to your husband from me *hugs*
Pug, is like obscure and abstruse words
it is tough to describe so i will let you look here; http://tinyurl.com/cfm6x6
I'm going to get breakfast and getting to work. Have a great Sunday, everyone. Hugs all around.
*giggles* lol o-o
bye Ruby, hope you get warm
tc ((mimi))
so do I, pug and o-o. I always enjoy looking up the meaning and etymology.
bye Cat
it may sound like a "young" read but it has surprising depth and is really for the 18+ crowd
Pug, you're the first to call me Cat....I like it! Poof!
Iam wondering if you guys IQ even register on the scales-lol
looks like a must-read to me, crossy. Thank you.
lol, puglet, mine barely makes the needle quiver some days
after that try his novel "swan Song"
easily, pug, lol.
I really doubt that on any of you guys
ok crossy. Found quite a few of his works just now.
and always remember it may take a genius to be really stupendously stupid ;)
though i am busting the grading curve in my current english class.the kids hate me,but when they need peer review for the mark,i always end up with 5 or ten papers in front of me lol
I feel like Iam in a collage class here but I do learn! lol
hehehe crossy. They certainly don't hate you. But envy you, yeah, probably. I think you are a bit of a role model for them... very nice.
pug, you are a very very smart lady. Don't sell yourself short.
no,they do not hate me.it is actually quite nice.all those 18-25 year olds with about 5 of us in the over 40 range
*hugs crossy* I love it.
asked the wife if i could bring one home and she said no:((( my god though, those legs went on forever..sigh..then she told me how much i remind her of her own daddy...back to the books
hahahaha crossy... aw darling. You are still hot, don't worry.
thats nice Crossy you can be a role model. The youth need one nowadays--just hope I dont see you on tv one day where you have turn the table and act out like Milly C or Britney S=lol
lol pug
lol
what blows my mind is how many of them are pregnant. all these 18-19 year olds,i would say at least 6 in our class alone, fully along and ready to pop in december
and in the halls, ever 3 girl is pregnant it seems
Puglet, you might find this discussion of wellness interesting: http://definitionofwellness.com/
omg, so young. Too young, imo. Biologically ready, but for crying out loud, be young first...
3rd
well that alone will keep you on the right road--lol
when did you start studying there, crossy... about 8 months back? ;)
they have a on site nurse practitionor who swings by the school once a week and i told her, you better give me a crash course in birthing babies because they are all around me
just 3 month back,sprite
lol crossy... what did she say?
okay OO--going to have hours looking up all the words I wrote down and the other sites--thanks
*grin* ok, you are off the hook for fathership then, crossy
she,gave me the basics,sprite
lol
very good, crossy. As long as you don't faint and don't panic, you are already helping a lot
might not hurt to put a change of clothes in the jeep either
how to turn a kid with you fingers, how to ease things along without tearing, how to unwrap an umbillical cord from around the neck and to leave the cord intact for the paras etc,etc
lol am so glad I took a break to hang up the laundry. Imagine it still sitting in the machine just now, ugh.
but don't absquatulate with any babies you deliver
lol, sprite,i was in the delivery room to catch my own kid and the afterbirth,i do not think i will have an issue
better not, lol, or the police will make sure you don't absquatulate anywhere anytime soon
Ive been on here way to long, but its sunday and raining so its just time, right
awesome, crossy. So was my love. Lovely to be able to share the experience.
raining here as well.def a babble day
right, pug. You need food for your soul just as much as we all do... and right here you are getting a bit of that.
brb.must find a tea
we got tornado watches from noon on
may you be protected and safe through it all, pug
are they wrist watches or pocket?
thanks Sprite---I hope it bypasses us
if they are pocket watches, small wonder I can never find anything in there
I hope so too, pug
lol--hope neither OO
not that I want anyone else to get them or get hurt
its so warm here right now I got the heat off and the backdoor open
sounds like storm threatening indeed, pug.
thats what Iam afraid of---not a very good sign at all
you having weird weather OO there in your state
6 left now
NO! that means you'll be leaving then :(
almost, pug. But must find those 6 first still.
No weird weather, pug. I even tried to conjure some.
Ive been here for hours and not even half way
in a couple of years, pug, you will be able to babble and chat at the same time as well.
why would you do that OO? You like to stir up trouble? LOL
Who? Me do that? Sureee
fireflies. Pfui, good one today.
I think I like talking to you all more than hunting
lol! Never.
that is a huge compliment, pug :)
w2g Sprite, so I guess you are leaving
yeah, time for me to hit the shower and hope it won't hit back. Therapy day tomorrow. I like to enter clean and nice-smelling. So they will know the stinky, sweaty, tired me of day's end isn't the only one ;)
A bucket of good wishes to you through out the day then--hugs
be well, sprite
and good luck on your meeting
thanks dear friend. *hugs* And a big *hug* for you, o-o. Very much enjoyed chatting with you all today, again. I wish you all a blessed day and a peaceful night.
you leaving too OO?
Thanks for caring, pug.
I shall pray too
You have helped me.
your welcome OO, and I do and if you are leaving then hugs and I will for you too--have a good day
You too.
I dont know how, but I feel you are special in my heart
*tiptoes in*
crossy is back with tea in hand:) howdy jmc
well not IN hand, but in a cup in my hand as the other way would make a mess
i think a cup is wise
hi all
stats for the bottom i please
beat you to it jmc lol
:-)
io4/4
io4/4
snap
howdy :-)
ty crossy and une
howdy,une
oh duh! hit me with a fish!
and after i already found ao5/10!
nbt
hello babblers
hi TO
do not forget to latin up that ao for a 6
ty crossy didn't even know that was an option
:)
just found out the existance of a nice ex 6/33
witty clue that is:))
haha
and by now "tharn" should be a word:(
morning, people
hi welk
howdy,welki
hi welki
i thought it was spelled tharin. . .that is how i hear it pronounced ;-)
mm,let me look...
nope it is tharn
stopped short at 195
what does "tharn" mean?
means being frozen in terror
from the novel watership down
and here i thought meant. . . bring me that book from over tharin. . . .
lol
hello all. help with the 8's and 9 pls
hi peri!
i don't see it in the dictionary
never seems to have caught on outside of the book:(
I know there is an at8 but I do not see it. and the 9 is tr9. I saw this in early chat
howdy, peri
no,TO that is my whole point in that it is not and thus not taken by babble
i just said it SHOULD be taken:)
great and scary book. . .
bit of a crossy tidbit, Art Gargunkle does some songs for the movie
I agree, crossy, tharn is a great word
garfunkle*
whatever.we know art
ah well must go gas before meeting. . . sorry i am no help peri. . . bye all. . . .*poof*
can't judge by enable. it is a mess
enable is the burden we carry to play the game
is enable a dead entity?
it is certainly in stasis.legacy software to be sure
for the word total, this is a surprisingly tough grid for me today
i'm just glad it's not a tiny one :)
if one can de5/13 and de5/14, why can't one deant?
i have too much to do and have not gotten out of bed. welk, i was introduced to home made limoncello last night. a bit sluggish.
ohhhh, limoncello - have always wanted to try, but think that the location has to be "right" - like italy :)
well, have a shot and you will be anywjere you want to be.
sounds like a cheap vacation :)
we brought it to the jazz crawl last night.
today i have a very, very interesting crossy tidbit of the day!!. I give you Americas forgotten direction finder! http://tinyurl.com/pc7nmya
happy babbling to all, it is time to go
bye, owl
interesting, crossy
yup.imagine those arrows painted bright yellow each with its little light tower and generator
there are so many words from well known books that aren't in the gr** (that word is so often in the gr**)--like tharn, and all the Tolkien words, and even the Alice words--
and the relief felt by someone who thought they were lost and then saw the arrow :)
yes, many of Tolkeins words are not valid ones
Crossy, where on earth do you discover this stuff - I am well informed thanks to you.
but some catch on. Did you know that the name "Wendy was not in use before it was penned in peter Pan?
to say nothing of the terrific Pratchett words--do any of you read Pratchett? Night Guard is worthy of a Pulitzer.
lol,munber
i will have to look that novel up,roundbarn
hi mubner and roundbarn
yes, I knew that abt Wendy. We get trendy names from celebrities--most don't stick around but you can date a person who bears one
Hi everyone, Happy Sunday
hello, everyone. Crossy, DON't read that book until you've read several that have Sam Vimes in them--that is the pinnacle. Try Jingo first. If you haven't yet become a Pratchett fan. He's read by millions in England--why not over here?
have never read him
but sadly there are always too many books and too little time
munber, about 3 years ago,i started doing crossy,s tidbit of the day just to make my own contribution to babble and it caught on to such a degree that i now get e-mail if i miss to many days and asking for more tidbits.i look forward to putting them up every day and to make sure it is something really different
Don't read his first two--je's just warming up. They are fun later. I just listened to Going Postal on tape--great reader, and a satire with depth. You come to love the disk world. Our distorted world in a clear mirror. And very funny. You'll love his Leonardo da Vinci character--and the dictator Vetinari (of the Assassin's Guild) who is Vimes' equal in brains.
Well, Crossy, you set a fine example of service to others, I enjoy them very much.
I am always sorry when I miss a tidbit, Crossy. I can't stay on the grid very long at a time or I won't get my work done--and at my age, de+++ is always a threat--I guess it is at any age--and I don't want to leave my great work ubfinished! So takes discipline.
Question--what were they digging up all the time in God's Little Acre?
or trying to find--i suppose google would have a quick answer. My dad referred to the corn patch that was his responsibility as Ron's Little Acre
indeed, roundbarn, but do not be afraid of it or of spelling it,after all,it is just another part of life and merly another step in our travels
damn computer is chugging.making it very hard to type
back in 5 .must fold a bit of laundry
words--Mark Twain, too, and other colloquialisms or old fashioned (we get enough Scottixh and Welsh)--why not dast? "I adsn't" or however spelled.
crossy I'm not afraid to spell it or say it, I've certainly been too too close to it--live with my daughter's--I just want to be here long enough that I don't leave an incredible mess behind me, and my GREAT WORK! Also, I like being here.
we like you being here as well:))
no, sweetbreads are thymus gland and pancreas
sorry - my page was displaying very old chat
Good morning
rb
hi rasty beloved--how is the pigeon today? You are one of the reasons I like being here.
did you kn ow that there is a singer called rodriques in the us. hismusic never caught on but he was wildly popular in south Africa, he didn't know it though. a movie was done about it and about how in later life he found out about his fame elsewhere, another tidbit for the day, really good movie
I think pigeoen ok. She's better fledged these days. haven't been out this morning yet
yes we just saw that movie - very amazing
I have a friend who grew up in
SA in the 60s but she didn't know about him.
dang return is right next to shift -
rast, I am going to the UU's with Larry, and then to his Temple for chili then to a cheescake competition at lola's--so why am I playing with words here? I need to look upo God's Little Acre to finish my story about Ron's.
because I'm here now... ?
magzel, next time you see her, you should chat with templeowl about rodriqgues. i think she saw him play
Eddy wants to tell you again how much he likes the book. rereading
ok, will do! I guess we still can't get his albums, unless the movie has generated a lot of interest
which book is Eddy reading? One of mine? Or Jingo?
anyone have a clue for ai7/36 please
Don't know a book called Jingo. He is rereading Round
yes I'm still here becuz you are here, and Crossy whom I always enjoy--and others I like. Usually I just lurk though
Barn of course dang return!
Now that he's a dairy farmer he sees it all with a new eye
ai7 = a building in which you might store the stuff we breathe
ty welki -
tx welki
Reg says we can't do an index the way we figure--and says how we should. But under cow we won't put every reference to cow--just Important Cows--like Marie of Sarnia.
thanks welki, that's a weird word
airshedairs
you can't spell that word, RB, because today it's in the grid and you'd go to the PB
sorry--it would have to be very well built
They are looking for a buried treasure, gold, but there isn't one.
antra
sorry
so should I continue? I've only spent a few hours so far
free word
fortunately I spelled it too well--get mixed up in these boxes--I better go get ready for my multi denominational gastronomical day, topped by the netflix you sent--starring Judy Dench it says bus whe;s a minor character, and quite young
hi all!
oh, Love in a Cold Climate? you'll like it, despite Judi being minor. Have you read the books?
Hi sue
hi rasta!
'morning, sue
hi welki!
heh heh - Detroit is here. That's where Rodrigues lives!
morning Sue I'm off to the non Xn uu's and then the non Xn jews and am still in my night shirt, talking to my daughter and Crossy and all. Yes, Rast, we're enjoying it and no I haven't read the book. Been advertisubg Pratchett's later works.
hi roundbarn! I read back in the chat and saw you talking about Terry Pratchett - he is so funny! I love his books!
I got Crosy's clever clue immediately, you dodn't need to point it out, Crossy.
and I'm off soon too, I'm the president of our UU congregation this year, and today is our congregational meeting, so I am in charge...
Sunday is my day to call Paris, but given the time difference I do that around noon. Other than milking goats my day is clear
ar 7/28 please
hurray, UUsue--do you love Sam Vimes too and Granny weatherwax and Nanny Ogg and her son Jason? I know the books almost bu heart.
absolutely, roundbarn! Granny Weatherwax is the best.
I so wish anthrax would work...!
a small operatic song, mag
Say hi to Paris--we have a Norway date--I need to talk to her myself.
did you know she's quitting the bank
I thought ar7 was just a borrower.... lol... she's in there too
ty again welki
that's one reason we need to talk. sue, certain wors we can almost spell--I gotta get off my arseif I'm going to get anywhere on time. So g'by Rast and Sue and Crossy and all of you giving clue--I won't apologize for I've read pages and pages of personal chat from many of you. It's all going in a book called "CHOG" don't ou think appropriate? It will be spotty of course.
suze!!!!
what clue, roundbarn?
bye, roundbarn! Nice to see you!!
hi crosy!
*crossy (silly fingers)
i would love to read a chog book by you, roundbarn;))
crossy said he found a very nice word esisting in the chat, but then felt obliged to show off and point it out.
ahh that one:)))
well, whenever gr** is in the gr** we all wind up in the PB :-)
was just chuffed with myself;))
well lets all brag--you and nef and uusue have my books--and Rast of course--she illustrated one, her pix are terrif.
you do not need to brag, roundbarn.your books are terrific
what did I illustrate?
and such fun books they are, too!
rast, you were the main illustrator of Ghost Boat. I was always sorry they rejected Heather's Therr Firehydrants.
Sure you're thinking of the correct daughter?
No, you used me as model, but I didn't draw any of that
very interesting stuff all round:)
Wasn't she named Jilly? Did the dead fisherman--did Marcy swimming with the waterbugs--gotta go look, there was another. Can only get my old books off the used book places on the net, now. Crosy, most are cheap except one which goes for $150. Rast, I just heard from the children of the chief, he told them he was in that book, so he read it. And thank you, Crossy.
what is it with cats and them getting into my clean laundry??!
It's warm and still has your smell.
oh, right, the waterbugs - I guess I did. Long time ago.
have one black cat,in the hamper,on top of my sheets, with all four feet up in the air, snoring blissfylly away...
as7/40 please
AND the dead fisherman
stinky cigarette place
ty,welki
this time really going. Bye, all.
Well, my son's puppy chews on my husband's shoes, but not on mine, go figure. Animals are funny.
bye rb
best thing my beloved and i ever did was to quit those in 2002
ty welki, can't seem to see any of the 7's today
lol, mens feet tend to have a stronger..bouquet, suze:)
no worries, mag - i've got most of the puzzle done, but am hung up with a few left myself (including 7 s)

welki's is a different at7. at + superficial, perhaps?

hi, all. anyone have a clue for di7/32, please? and thank you
DI sounds a lot like the far west region in France where they make calvados...
di + *eno* Wences + consumed food
Good Morning To All ... one of my favorite sites for videos is in today's grid TEDx
got that clue! now to go watch him on youtube lol
Sorry Angel I Clued The Wrong di...
Most of to ridicule + the exchange ...

ty oo. I'll try to find them after dinner
sorry not getting the clue for the di 7/32 help plz
nm.. just got it lol ty
isn't calvados from spain, not france?
Calvados is one of the original 83 departments created during the French Revolution on 4 March 1790.
hmm, what is the liquor that spain specializes in then?
hi Hursh - Jerez (sherry)
hello everybody
any clue for de 6/36 please
too early in the a.m. for calvados and sherry - i'm drinking coffee :)
well i haven't heard of that one so that can't be the one i am thinking of. i have heard of something from the cooking shows.
Cava - Catalonian wine
is that it?
no. i think either they misreferred to calvados as spanish, or i just somehow got mixed up.
get open a couple bottle, get some nice cheese and crackers and figure it all out:)
lets*
i don't drink
more for me then
lol, roundbarn,if you are still lurking, when you spelt de+++, i was under the impression that you were just trying to avoid bad luck by saying it as i did not realize till just now that de 5/14 is actually in the grid
lol
my min d can be a funny place
the plus signs threw me i suppose
just found a nice ts5:)
anyone want to clue the di8 and tr9
DI8 means the belief in two gods.
di + nonbeliever: a******
so three for tr9
gee they are very specific about how many gods one believes in
ty,gail
and o-o
does anyone have na 5/10 - it's in the list but I can't find it anywhere -
one nostril
hmm, .... so that gives me the third letter, I think, but then what
last name Bumppo
sorry I must be blind
got it
yes, blind
hi erda, that was na 5/14
yes
so what's di7/40 then?
ar 7/28 -- first of onassis, abbr + first of singer James
di - 7 rhymes with the Penn State team the N* lions
ty

Can ya sing it Gail? I knew you could....
he doesn't say things like that.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...
Happy Sunday everyone - question - Am I the only one seeing ads all over the page?
i never get ads, cadfan especially in babble
Ads as in adverts or the letter AD..in either case by the way i am not seeing.
It all looks normal to me.
K - I think it's something off with my son's computer - off to figure out how to banish them
if you are plagued with them, and use goggle chrome as your browser,i suggest you use the free ad block plug in
You need to have the block Ads on.
Crossy is the best one to guide you on that :-)
what i said:))
sometimes i get it right:)
just enough to lead me on however
my son taught me how to find the start/run/cmd/ipconfig info for subnet mask and gateway info for setting up those hard wired modems they have now(thank go i do not use one)
wi-fi all the way baby!
Wi-fi is so much easier.
true words!
i do not care if the beams from it going through my head take a year off my life, cause fighting with the other way would take three off of it!
lol
i am thinking on the bright side of it and hoping it may be curing some yeat undetected, early cancer hidden somewhere.that way i get a 2 for 1
Well you never know, Crossy, lol
lol,may be poaching my kidneys for all i know.one thing i do see however is the schools remain hard wired
Probably costs to much out of the school budget to change maybe.
but i am told the last of the old tower hard wired systems will be gone after this year.after that it will all be wi-fi and laptops
yes,she says they keep the schools on a short leash budget wise
much of the stuff is refurbished and donated by big offices who are upgrading their system
clue for the 9 please
I am hoping the new xbox one that comes out next friday will be enough not for me to get a laptop.
it looks like a nice machine
Sorry matgches nothing higher than a 7 here.
and is in the price point of the last 2 releases
sorry,matches
Yes i think the play station 4 will be more powerful.but i have had an xbox360 for a while now.so wil carry on using their consoles.
how bacwards compatable will the new x box be?
backwards
I really want the xbox one to be able to use tabs on internet explorer..as having only one widow open is such a bind.
i have never surfed the net on a console
Not much, Crossy...for the very lastest 360 games you have...you will have to use the cloud to be able to daownload a newer version of the game to work on the newer console..same with the PS4.
:(( mmmm
tr9: tr + vowel + th6/21
I think they can make the machines backward compatable..but this way they make more money..lol
"belief in 3 gods"
Thank you, Une :-)
power nap time bbl
Enjoy your snooze, Crossy.
yw :-)
good afternoon folks
Hello, Bichon :-)
hey bichon :-)
lots of word here and no time
The g word is here again today. Lots of business in the PB
def for that th6/21, une, pld?
It always makes me smile when 'flip' is in the gr4...wonders how many people type it in the chog then realise.

you have only the free adobe app? if so, it's probably just adobe reader
hi All
so, they are two and three something, but don't see what!
you can't annotate PDF files usually.
hi hego
You have to print out, fill in the blanks and scan back in......
anyway that's all i know. lol
Hi welki
believers, nan
that's not what I wanted to he4, hego. but I was afraid that was the answer.
that's how i understand adobe to work, too - unless you pay for adobe pro or something like that, it's a read only application
sorry, I'm no techy.
fooey
Ironic, they want the applications typed but who has a typewriter anymore?
ty welki - and finally, nbs
Exactly
it's not an interactive form?
Funny, they would send a PDF file.
i wonder if you can download adobe acrobat and use "add text" (thank you, google)
going to google for a pdf converter.
I've used interactive forms before, I was hoping this was one. guess not.
there are lots of free ones, dawg - g'luck

Hello, Scrabs :-)
Hi Scrabbs :)
(no pun intended)
hi scrabbs
any other clues wanted before I leave?
My sister just departed with her grandson, my greatnephew. He is 16 mo old and kept us busy since yesterday afternoon.
Does he chase the bunnies?
add a little kaluha to the coffee, sit down, put your feet up and relax!
He chases the downstairs rabbit, Miss Bea (Beatrix Potter.)
How does Miss Bea react?
He gets so excited when he sees her. He squeals then chases her. She escapes to under the couch.
I only have 6 more to get..plus i am listing so should be ok...but thank you, Nan :-)
is there a 8/9 combo?
You are so close, zooz.

I cannot see the 8's or 9 even with clues, help pls. hello all
in 2 hours,i shall be there with a crusty loaf of bread and some beverages of an adult nature;)
Hi Peri and Crossy.
ok,peri, start with one who does not believe at 7/32
hi peri, a + a word meaning banal, plus a consonant to make it past tense
then put di in front and remove the a
I have the non believer
But Crossy, by the time you pass through BUffalo you will be stuck in stadium traffic. Our football team is playing now.
then remove that and add a te and a vowel instead
peri, I just clued at 9
tr
I don't have the biggies yet---the clues went right past me.
never mind
ty for de8. I am looking for the a9 now
mm,yes, american football..does get in the way
at + banal + consonant for at9
I mean at 8, will stop cluing now
I am trying to find a banal word.
i also will stop as i just seem to be messing them up
And which A does it start with?
me too
banal = tr5
OK, I found at7 and 8.
tr 5 - banal
fourth column
No do not stop! You two are doing great! Thanks for your help. Signed, The Lurker
watching the Browns = kinda painful, hope things turn around in the second half.. hi all
Hi JeeWhiz and Aloy
Our Buffalo Bills are whipping the NY Jets so far.
Hi Scrabbler and everyone!
hi Jee and Aloy
hello jeewhiz - welcome to all lurkers
ahh the ole Cleavland browns.i always used to pull for them in the past as even when i used to watch football, they were alsways the underdog
well, I'm glad for the Bills!
Waiting for the Chiefs to kick some Broncos.
ok,I have two at7 but no at8
got the at9 ty Annie
sigh, I know crossy.. we root for the Tribe and for the Browns, and.. "maybe next year" has become our mantra
past tense the at 7/28
Hi teach!
more help with the tr9 pls
if I had it, I'd help, peri.. but, alas
Buffalo has suffered forever with our Bills and Sabres. This city deserves a championship.
tr9---3 letter word meaning 3 and a belief in God
go go Buffalo!
TY, Annie
taro
tr 9= tr 9/60= short for three and most of the non-believer at 7/32 ,peri
tr 9 - first 4/5 of banal + robbery (HE 5)
wow, got in on your clue.. tyvm, Annie!
torte
THE WALTERS ARE WATCHING THE GAME... WALTER 11 has given several members of the brown team new names...... none of them mentionable in mixed company........

this is sooo much better than cleaning house :D
got it ty
Sure is, Ruru.
actually, I was cleaning like a madwoman until I realized that we are leaving on Thurs. instead of Wednesday, so now I'm Babbling, aah
almost anything is better than cleaning house
I've already done enough today
i have a pile of laundry that need to be folded and it is giving me the evil eye
Aloy, I made a really easy butter bean soup, yesterday, the recipe was on the can of beans.
I brought some over to a friend who had a bad fall and broke her arm. She really liked it.
I need to do laundry later.
td
love that soup talk, peri! My latest was a sweet potato leek soup
you can finish mine too scrabs
am a soupaholic, no doubt about it
My veggie soup that is brewing has carrots, peas, corn, broccoli, and cauliflower. I will cook bitty pasta later.
ok, end of first half..
in my place, there is never a laundry time or day, something always needs to be washed or always needs to be folded. the laundry is never "finsihed"
what's bitty pasta?
oh yumm, Scrabbs
Ditalini or orzo...
oh
from Ittyaly?
neat word,Ditalini. never had it
96 left, bbl to finish
Ditkalini is pasta that yells at you
Ditalini is newbie to me
(Insiders football joke)
ruru, I'm clueless but I'll bet that was a great pun
acini di pepe is another wee pasta
i hate cooking that bitty pasta,it is always either too little or too much as it is very deceptive when dry as to what is needed
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_p\nasta
I have problems too with directions for adding pasta.. dry weight or volume?
always add less little pasta than you think
ok, saving that link, ty Scrabbs
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_p\nasta
now I want to make Potato leek soup
It is not copying correctly--ends with List_of_pasta
I don't have any leeks
now i want to make cream of tater soup
potato leek soup is my favorite soup
mine too annie
I love my butternut squash soup too
one of my faves, ruru
that's a good one too
I also love corn soups.. with bacon
am beginning to salivate
mmmmmmm
drooling on the keyboard is not advisable
it is definately soup season
I make my butternut squash soup with fresh ginger
me too, have to make a pot of soup this week
Funny story which happened an hour ago. I was putting my toddler greatnephew into my sister's Jeep Wrangler. I was buckling him into his car seat when I saw a cat tail waving in the front seat! A Siamese cat (that I had never seen before) had jumped into the front seat!
wanted to go for a ride!
I think that butternut or pumpkin soups are my faves, with or without apples.
since we had the best apple crop ever from our tree, we have been putting apples into everything
okay.. back to housework.. thanks for the break
have SO much fun, ruru!
The cat was very friendly and let me pick it up. It had a collar with 2 tags--one was "Bark Avenue" and the other, which I hoped was a name and phone number, showed "MEOW."
Bye, ruru.
bye ruru :(
hmm, not too helpful.. why would any owner put things like that on a tag?
Silly tags.
oxymoronic.. a tag is supposed to be informative
so, scrabbler..... do you have a new pet???? heh heh..
so the cat's name is Meow and it lives on Bark Avenue, great
remember dear. if you feed it..... it OWNS you
I keep a bag of cat food near my front door, for neighborhood cats that visit, so I fed this one on the front deck. She gobbled it up.
Yes, aloy, I was laughing when I saw those tags!
well,if you guys do not have no-kill shelters in your place,i hope meow love bunnies
crossy! shhhh
I do like cats but have never owned one.
as siblings,not food
oh, ok
you never own a cat.they own you
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKffm2u\nI4dk
Hilarious video. There is also one for Sad Dog Diary.
walter also feed a few neighborhood cats... shen catfod come on sale i but two or three huge bags because ................... and if the cats aren't quick enough, the squirrels and raccoons take up the slack
when we moved into our first home, it came with a cat.. I didn't like cats.. and now I love them
always new experiences in life:) houses that come with cats:)
and a pony too!
the pony was in the barn.. the cat was somewhere hunting
siamese cats are quite dog like
i find the breed a tad too vocal
tr 9/70 please
the ultimate in human ownership.
Hi Owl
And hi magzel
This Siamese was quite small, maybe just 4-5 lbs. She let me snuggle her up for a while.
hi scrabs.
oooh, i want her!!!
sister in maine is owned by three maine coon cats.. she got them from a breeder whe was going to euthanise them because their breeding wasn,t up to his "standards".......... so vincent, theo and medeline have been living in the lap of luxury ever since
The usual gorgeous blue eyes.
How wonderful, sammysmom
maine coons are extraordinary cats
is she cross eyed, scrabs?
so,he ran a cat mill.how disgusting
rir
Yes. Aren't all Siamese cats blue- and cross-eyed?
some more than others.
most we see here are
Yahoo! Buffalo Bills 27 and NY Jets 7. A very happy home crowd 25 minutes away from here.
yes crossy, but i think he is not as succesful as he was, he underestimated the power of some folds heh, heh
i remember my aunt telling the story of her neighbor's siamises when she llived in an apratment bld. the cat would come around, meowl as only a siamese would do until she let it in.
folks, that is
super duper, Scrabbs.. brb, am also doing laundry and it is time to start the next load
How many ts- words are there?
ngair
at least 2 i know of
ts 4/4 and 5/12
I found the other ts- word. I had spelled it wrond before.
BRB, must stir pot of soup.
mmmm,home made soup
he would proceed from room to room along the perimeter, meowling at each closet door untile she opened it, then walk out back home. my aunt is terrified of cats but let it in to stop its noise.
aloy, did you know that we had an earthquake here several days ago?... i noticed that chuckie and sammy were acting stranger than usual and asked my daughter , she said me kitty was also.. so she googled it and we did have a small quake , so let that be as lesson to us insensitive humans, listen to what your bosses are trying to tell you
hi scrabs, there's 3 ts words 1 4, and 2 5's
I have read stories of animals acting strange prior to earthquakes
there are 2 ts 5/12
our 2 black bombay cats go one further, they knock on doors.first they find if there is any leeway in the jamb,if the door is a tight fit or if there is some movement in the latch. if there is any movement at all they will start tapping the door with their paws in a sweeping motion, pounding the door off the jamb
ty, magzel.
they feel vibrations and hear things that we cannot , i also think they are more aware of atmospheric pressure than humans and god klnows they are smarter than most
their odd behaviors is why i love cats
My bunnies can push doors open, if the door is not fully closed. They push with their noses.
I have read about nursing homes which have resident cats. The cats will stay with people prior to death, so the staff knows when a person is going to die.
therapy pets do wonders
tantr
off for a drive in ths. bbl my friends
that is true scrab.. i have know that for more than 60 years, and people thought i was nuts when i mentioned it... now is it a grand brand new obseervation... hhowever, two of my uncles (both farmers) believed me at the time.. one a dairy farmer and the other a pig farmer told me that they learned a lot from thier animals, but wouldn't admit it to most folks
BYe, crossy

any clues for the tr 9
prefix for 3 + word for someone that believes in a God
definition = someone that believes in 3 Gods
back.. and I have another Murphy's Law.. "If you miss a tissue in a pocket, it will be in a load of dark wash".. aaargh
scrabbler, are you keeping the cat?
That happens to me often, Aloy.
such a pain in the butinsky..
Owl, the cat had a collar so someone up here must own it. I live in a development up on a big hill, in the woods, with about 140 homes.
Clue for the i's please?
so you just set it outside.
I never brought it inside. We played outside for a bit.
The left i.
io4, ir5x2
Slam me with a trout for missing that io4.
got one ready, smacko
but it is itty bitty
TY, Aloy
hands Scrabbs a deodorizing wipe..
thanks scrabs
I need to take a shower anyway. I took care of the baby starting at 7 so that my sister could sleep more. He slept in bed with her and she slept very poorly overnight. He and I played inside for a while then went for a walk in the stroller, then played outside.
you are a super duper Aunt, Scrabbs.. I'm sure your sister really appreciated the break!
She needed it. He co-sleeps with his parents. My sister struggled to sleep with a toddler slopping all over her.
co-sleeping is an issue; our daughter has compromised with their infant. He sleeps in a co-sleeper, but when he needs feeding, she takes him into the nursery so her husband can sleep. He gets up at the crack of dawn every morning
when you say co-sleep Aloy, do you mean in the same bed or the same room?
in a co-sleeper attached to the parent's bed
Scrabbs, is your sister still breast feeding the toddler?
Jaxson is my greatnephew--my 25 yr old nephew's son. Jaxson's mother did breast feed him, but not any more
well, i am done. i
Geez, Owl, I am struggling to get to halfway.
well done TO
oh, ok.. sounds like Jaxson needs his own room, and so does Mom..
yay, TO.. wtg, congrats!
well, i was on autopilot earlier, stuck in that horrible place between exhaustion and sleep. it did help me to nap
am stuck on te6.24, maybe if I post I will see it
Yes, Jaxson needs to be trained to fall asleep on his own in his crib in his room. That would be better for everyone.
bye all.
hah, it worked.. the muscle paralysis if you don't get a certain shot
But Jaxie is so damn cute. We just love him so much. I will post a pic on FB.
bye, TO.. tc
Bye, Owl
good, Scrabbs.. will watch for it

Tornado warning for later on! Yikes!
thanks rolin
ty, rolin, and I had tri9 already.
can anyone help me with the at8 pls?
at + tr5 = at7. Then past tense for at8.
walter is trying to figure out the safest place in he house to be if a tornado hits and a ree hits the house.....lol... we are surrounded by trees a 100 foot high ancient oak that would flatten the whole damned house if it fell ( and this is a LARGE 3 story colonial), sever maples and two huge pines that have been acting as outside curtains for my bedroom for 40 years... my suggestion was that he just say his prayers and forget it.... this house has been through 100 years of crappy ohio weather and i figure it will weather this too
wow.. did i say all that? did not mean to anger the gods.. will have to have a little talk with hecate
I am surrounded my numerous trees too, sammysmom.
sometimes when there is a wind, one doest get nervous, eh?
hello all...can someone give me stats for the 9 please?
My thoughts are with all those in the path of the bad US weather today xx all the best from the UK xx
I do look at the huge old trees around the house, especially the conifers, and wonder which ones will end up on top of my house someday.
tr9.60
thanks, worzel...i am lucky, it's quiet weather wise here...
ty
penquis: a believer in 3 Gods
ty
um... i am not really a believer in 3 gods... ;o)
apparently some people believe in more than one god. or at7 = no belief in a God
i am sure...
At 145/112 I have had enough of this grid. See you tomorrow.

hi babblers (crossy - went out and picked up a roku today - works great, lots of free programming in addition to the paid stuff)
they are well worth the price.like i said, once we got hooked up,we dumped cable tv
we pay for netflix ($7.99) and save $90 a month by not having cable tv
what do you do for live programming like news?
at this rate,by new years day,the money we have saved by cancelling the cable tv will have paid for the 51 inch hdtv in its entirety
for news,i like cnn.com
i do not need the talking heads.i just read that i wish of the news and they have a good intuitive layout
what i wish*
hi all. have been working on this gr**off and on all day and still have 61 to find.
howdy peri
i'd miss local news, live sports and some weekly shows - will have to play around with our programming once the feds decide that we can tailor our own cable packages
hi, peri
sadly,i weighed it all,and none of what i liked on cable was worth 90 a month plus tax
i have been waiting for fed approved a la carte tv for 2 years since i have first heard of it..got tired of waiting
they have been running a test bed of a la carte tv programming in london ontario, but is is now 2 years and no news
the mrs and i are anticipating starting a new series on netflix called orange is the new black
we have netflix, crossy but I have not watched that series as yet
i have heard good things,peri
I might have to check it out then
you can even google a review these days before diving in
The Orange is the New Black was very good!
I do recommend reading the book too though, as they are quite different...
I popped in for a few minutes before taking my son back to school.
oh, I did not know there was a book
the book is better, more in depth i take it?
i also did not know there was a book
oh yes, and of course more true!
yes, the same title.
i will have to look up the book.ty,phand
your welcome.
90 to go, hi all!
99 for me
32
all of the T words too
68 here... i just listed...
down to 83, but gotta go, maybe will be back in a couple hours. If not, happy babbling.

go peri!
hi phan, pen, jane
st
hi...
FW
for those who wish it,i can now offer you a copy of the Novel Orange is the new Black in LIT and e-pub format for your tablets or e-readers just e-mail me if you wish a copy
I don't know what to do once I get the copy from you, crossy
and that is ok, I will just start watching the series without reading the book
bye for now
you hook up your reader to the computer.it sees it as a external hard drive, open it up and you will see the file where your books are stored.just drag and drop what i send you into that file
easy peasy
i def wish to read the book first.do not want the movie telling me what the characters are supposed to look like till i am done the book
they say that talking to onesself is a sign of insanity
movie time bbl
Good morning to anyone out there :)
Hello lizlin!
Hi Jilly. It's very quiet here today.
And a big grid...guess some have more things to do!

Just started... maybe that wasn't a good idea!
yipes, 2 minutes in and off to the PB...gr5/7
I'm being challenged now and have started using the list but there were lots of words to find at the start. And I was going to say PB for both of us - but you beat me to it!!!

LOL...not yet, now I will!

46 for me
hey jilly - i found diet tonic - finally!
If you stretched that out a little, welki.... I'd call you Minnie!!!
Pearl, that is :-)
not as fizzy as the good stuff, but it'll do :)
howdeeeeeeeeee! *adjusting price tag*
Yay!! Use a little more gin to aid the taste!!
diet tonic water ?? I drink it all the time; good for leg cramps!
the quinine does that? who knew *running to the garage to bring in the tonic*
Yes welki...well known to us old nurses!
or - is it the gin that takes care of the leg cramps? (as in, you either don't notice or care about them?)
but - is there still quinine in tonic?
LOL, welki. How true.
hey peachie
A dear friend who used to go for dialysis 3 times a week used to get severe leg cramps during treatments.... she told me about it helping her tremendously and it helped me!
Yes, still has quinine in it.
hello again.
i get them at night
hi phan
and foot cramps - owwwie
I do too, or when sitting in a chair that cuts the back of my thighs....as when playing cards.
how are you?
Hi phand!
Hi, Jilly!
How are you tonight, welkie?
I hate the ones in the front of the thigh.... can't get to them.... the hurt remains for days.
Consumer Reports: Q&A: Will drinking tonic water get rid of leg cramps?
bartender: what'll you have, welki? welki: gin and diet tonic, a wedge of lime - for medicinal purposes only, of course
Hi phandmd
And what does it say, o-o ?
doing all right, peach - had a great week at work last week, a good weekend. haven't had consecutive good days for a while, so feeling blessed
howdy, howdy
I don't put gin in mine.
http://tinyurl.com/mfsc7mq
you must, diane. it's required.
Glad to hear that Welki!
That is so good to hear, welki. Will keep sending "good" energy.
Join the G&T club diane!!
Hmmmm, interesting, o-o. Maybe it's just having more fluid in the system, period!
i'm going to pretend i didn't read the article and go with diane and Jilly's home remedy - we can always credit the placebe effect
I don't like gin very much....never have. I like white rum though and crown royal whiskey... WHEN I drink LOL
So am I!!
And, I'm still at 46 words... I wonder why ?? :-)
Definitly not leg cramps ;)
talking, maybe ??
o-o? have you read 'man's search for meaning?"
The toxic brew has captured you ...
No ...
hmmm....sa5/10 plz?
neither have i - but after reading your link, i'm thinking i should put it on my reading list. now.
senor sa*** claus
Almost like the big fat man that delivers toys in December
I believe I exist as an exemplar of a waste of resources who would prefer oblivion
ahh...got it... ty o-o and welki!
We are so glad that you exist, o-o!
Ta5-10 the 1st please....thanks
and yet, frankl, who survived horrors (as you have), thinks that striving to find a meaning, a purpose in life, is the foremost motivational force in people
senora, the aunt, ta*** claus (wish a different last letter)
i like that idea, o-o. i can tell you that, when i was a girl, i spoke to holocaust survivors on a regular basis, my relatives. i was not connected emotionally to the family members lost, so they were mostly lessons in how to listen to my elders. the common theme, in those lessons, was always, 'choose life."
My goal is akin to taking a sip from the river Lethe.
good advice
Thanks much, welki.
best to try from the river Liffy - it's where they get the water for guiness
Naw, prefer my Guiness in a bottle!
there is a trilogy of frankl's books - i think i'd like to read all of them
Life is thrust upon us all without our consent ... we have no choice in our genetics or our upbringing ... to find meaning we must challenge everything we have been told and vitiate any genetic deficiencies we encounter ... if the holies are correct, we must find the essential purpose an other-worldly has assigned us .... or create out own purpose which then may lead to meaningfulness ... I have discovered my purpose and meaning involves raising my life as an alarm of how not to go about that task.
and yet, in your words, i find that in one regard, you're the lucky one - you have a belief in 'the holies.' religosity aside, sounds like you have some hold on faith
is the TR 9 a compound word?
Too deep for me, my friends.... I just coast happily along and enjoy life as I find it. :-)
no phan
I don't have it yet phandmd.... just getting there.
I'm still bogged down in the tr words
no phan - need a clue?
I mean the TA words
I guess so. Thanks
almost through them diane...5 left
diane, want some help?
just say yes or no
yes please
it is related to de 5 and di 8
not yet.... :-) getting there
phan - belief in 3 gods (use this for the di7, too)
believer, not belief
thanks, guess, I should have thought of that.
prefix for three and de 5
ironic, eh? considering the convo
ironic indeed.
diane, fyi - the toasted coconut donuts from the donut mill freeze pretty well
??? Have we drooled about them together ?
Is “ironic†the most abused word in English? http://blog.dictionary.com/ir\nonic/
maybe - thought we talked about it
hehe - saw that link the other day
not me , I don't think... however I've been known to forget things lol
at
sorry about that
in this case, it may be a proper usage of the word, given the context of the conversation - absence of purpose, belief, faith, etc
in any event, i'm no english prof, so anyone who expects my grammar, punctuation, usage to be perfect is in for a wee surprise :)
;-)
a coincidence of irony
isn't it ironic/music in the night, a dream that can be heard/ isn't it ironic, etc. everybody sing
*puts on a gownless evening strap and dances to the music*
ooooh, the visual !!
i have visine - and gin.
the ghost of fred astaire in white ties and tails glides into weiki's arms
sort of a spoonerism....
yep
My name is Yon Yonson,I come from WisconsinI work in a lumber mill thereAll the people I meetAs I walk down the streetThey say "Hello, Yon Yonson, hello"
my favorite spoonerism is, 'he's a fart smeller'
My grandkids used to like that one.... the little monkeys.
toilet humor - the great unifier
I have written down some of the ones that the kids uttered.... especially the little girls who talke a mile a minute. "Grandma, can I use your cootie cuckers?"
for me, toilet humor does not smell right.
it stinks
:-)
