okay...surgeon replaced plastic disc in tibial prosthesis with a thicker one, and swapped the femoral prosthesis for one with a latch system which stabilises it.

surgery was midway between option a and option b. he did replace the plastic disc with a thicker one, and he replaced the femoral prosthesis with the one which has a latch on it. very little bone loss. will be able to ha4 a re-do when needed.
oh that is so great, rose. Sounds like he did real well, repairing the severe damage without spoiling your chance for a replacement. And how are you? Much pain?
jack doing okay. haven't had any injections since yesterday lunch time. managing pain with tablets and cold compresses.
how does this latch work, can you lock the knee or what?

joso, it fits together so that the prosthesis can only move one way...ie bend the knee and straighten it. it cannot slip sideways.
So more like a real knee?

No, I did not know them, this is the story; My ex and I were coming home from a xmas party and in this curve on the hi-way home is a country road, the two kids were standing right in the middle of that country road right along the hi-way. It was very cold with a new skip of snow . It was a boy of about 9or 10 and a little girl about 5-6, they were holding hands and dressed in I'de say maybe 1950 coats,hats and gloves. We turned around and went back to see why little kids that little would be out that late and in that cold. But when we got back to that spot they were gone. No footprints in the new snow or nothing.We even stopped at a house near by and asked if anyone in the area would have kids of that age and they said no. So thats the only time Ive seen ghost.

he had dental surgery, an infection in the jaw drained, his face swelled up, on a diet was on a diet of soup and mush but swelling has come down enough to have scrambled eggs. on antibiotics

omg, have just opened my emails for the first time since morning of surgery, there's 105 of them...
about 6 years ago we had the weirdest snowstorm. In fields that were north and south the wind had caused the snow to ball up and you would pass these fields and huge snow balls laid all over them. The only time I ever seen that

I am hoping that next winter, when the cooler temps show up we can keep our house a comfortable 65-68. The apartment, to stay comfortable (we don't have a temp-control) we seem to run the little wall heaters a lot.

it's mostly wonderful, doren! I second-guess myself a lot, but that's normal for a person teaching new content and ages. Overall, I just love it!

I should do latkes this weekend... I am so completely off my "everything" still -- we normally have latkes the first night of Hannukah. I started making them partly with sweet potatoes a few years ago (by accident) and ever since then we add carrots and sweet potato every time.

one winter, it was so cold, i lined the windows with ordinary packaging tape. (i could never get those plastic sheets in place) seemed to help a teny bit

it's worth it to buy the good tape. the cheap tape is too thin (look for 3-mil)
i've used the alka seltzer cold and flu stuff at night. helps for sleeping, good for achiness
coca cola is my weakness. i don't drink it presently, but i love love love it.
cold meds make me fuzzy. don't use them unless i have to actually function.
i'm not a big pop/soda drinker. I like soda water with lemon or lime in it.
to me, it tastes so bad, i have to drink it with a chaser to get it down. but a little sip kills symptons for about 5-10 mins before you need to drink a little more

Inniskilin is Canada.. it comes to the US.. that's really the best buy there is in quality ice wine

Very high tides on the east coast of the States as well. I live in Connecticut and walk every day in a park by Long Island Sound. The high tides yesterday and today were as high as I've ever seen them.
