dee, feet still swollen. have been resting for most of the day. tried to sit with feet up on ottoman, but hurts my kn4 as it locks it in the straight position.
and you, dear friend? how has your day been?
how frustrating... probably need legs elevated for swelling, but knee won't let you...
how about a table with sturrips-lol
huge temp fluctuations and barometric pressure changes, so rested a lot today. Had a lovely dinner and cards with friends tonight.
nice dee. glad you had the chance to rest. pugs...that brings back memories of the birth of my first...
grannyrose: try putting wrapped box in bed so knee(s) bent over it
morning all
Rose, Sprite is having the same problem too----have you talked to her lately
scouser, might try that tomorrow. have to be creful, no pressure on back of kn4s or calves.
ties
hmmm, pugs...i haven't. will go and email her now. brb
oops PB for me pistachios (Italianate swear word)
grannyrose - aaaargh my solution would probably do just that unless you can pad the box with something v soft?

Thanks everyone. Off for a swim now. Happy babbling

Iam hoping Peach is okay too--she left yesterday with her wheelchair falling apart
Well, I best get going. Have a great eve / day all!! See you at the flip!
night Dee
((pug))) (((rose)))
Oh, dear Puglet. I'm here....was deep into the grid. Thank you so much for caring. It was really scary last night.....my chair is old (as am I) but I surely don't need it to fall apart with me in it. I have a young man who drives for me and helps me with the upkeep of the house. He's kind of like a grandson. At any rate, I called him as soon as I got into my room and he came over and found the screw came from my arm rest....boy, did I ever feel foolish. I finally got to sleep around 7:00AM.
night, dee. sweet dreams, hun
oh so glad Peach it wasent worse and you are fine
ahhh, good then peach. not something you want to fall apart...your means of getting around.
It could have been bad but it wasn't .....I am very thankful.
hugs to all, pug, Dee, Rose, and other lurkers
no more shenanigans with furniture, Peach
Puglet, I think we will get your rain today and sunday. Has it lessened?
Rose, Sprite's feet and legs are swollen too and she cant elivate hers due to causing pain in her back.Shes waiting on the doctor to find out why shes holding water
Hi jbp and hugs back
Yeah, gotta watch that, jbp.
and the gymnastics will have to stop
How are you today jbp
pretty good. sadly, all our snow has now been rained on. but i'm trying not to be too Eyeore about it
and you, pugs?
its raining sheets here right now and I heard thunder earlier
Iam doing okay
holidays are hard for me.
well, for a lot of folks.
we are to have 2-5 inches of rain today
but you know, fa la la.
yikes! that's a lot
could ya stop sending it our way, please. ;-)
I will sure try--lol
thank you, much obliged
Iam just praying this all dont freeze over in a few days :(
walking last night was dicey... luckily, only my dignity got bruised.
oh no! you werent wearing any cushioning --LOL
yeah, like I need cushioning
same here :)
that line that weeble wobble but wont fall over is a big lie--lol
omg. tru dat
brb

*pays for therapy session for this grid*
Hi Ru, we were all wondering what happen to you
**~** ruru **~** how are you, mate?
i took a nap after dinner and just woke up
are you ill
no.. just tired
have you done a lot of travelling, mate?
yes.. lots of driving. I'm going to lay low now for the holidays
hope you get all the rest you need, buddy. driving is the pits.
yep.. just have to fix some lights at the old house tomorrow and then rest for the weekend
are you spending the holidays with anyone special?
no..just Dylan :D
and us!
yeah...and us!!!
oh yeah..that is true
unless babble is shut down for the day
tell dylan...paws off the roast dinner and plum pudding
I've heard alot of talk about plum pudding but never have had it
brb
me neither. I've never had plum pudding either
lol...pugs...one year we will be together...or perhaps i can send you the recipe..the plum part is actually dried fruit...it was once made with preserved plums.
okay...then i send both of you the recipe. you cannot die without ever having had plum pudding.
ok
i'm up for trying new things
Iam not hip on fruitcakes either---Ive only eaten one once that was any count
oh, and brandy custard...
sounds good Rose
I hate fruit cake
ugh
I really really miss my grandmothers cream pies :(
okay...*making a note* send ruru and pugs plum pudding recipe. what don't you like about fruit cake, ruru?
What's to hate ruru?
for me the fruit is dried and bitter tasting
ugh.. the plastic fruit, nuts, and too sweet
pugs, you soak the fruit in brandy before you cook the cake.
I wouldn't waste the brandy :D
Obviously the wrong recipes ...
and once the cake is cooked, you pierce it with a skewer, and pour more brandy over it.
I have never made one---and the ones given to me, you could knock a man out with it
jack....so true
do you use fresh fruit Rose or candied
they make great door stops pugs
dried fruit and candied fruit, pugs
I love fruitcake. Been making lots of boiled sultana cakes (GF) with lemon in recently
lol Ru, never thought of that
ruru, you need to be heducated..lol
they might be different where you are Rose, but these here sucks
the holiday cakes (fruit cakes) here.. are awful.. they must be different.. they are inedible
Hello everyone
okay, pugs. jack and i have access to the most delicious dried fruit.
no human would eat them
hey ya liz
hello lynx
Indeed we do
Hi Jack--what is a sultanan cake
Hi lyn
Hi pugs. Like a sponge cake but with sultanas in
what's a sultana?
sorry, lynxx...oh dear...
a soft raisin - very juicy
ruru, sun-dried grape...a special type of grape
oh.. I like sponge cake
putting gummy worms in a fruitcake here would be a step up
sponge cakes and strawberries---mmm
I actually made the cakes at a bakery when I was in college
fruit cakes that is
my father actually grew up on the murray river. his parents grew crops of grapes for sultanas. every summer when the grapes had to be picked. the schools in the area were emptied as every pair of hands were needed to harvest the crops.
and were they good?
no.. they were commercial and the awful ones
is it a purple grape Rose
ruru, commercial cakes are the pits.
sorry laptop decided it needed to do updates and threw me off
no pugs, a green seedless grape.
Sultanas end up yellow
I always thought that raisins were dried black grapes and sultanas were dried green grapes. Is that correct? Good morning/evening all.
morning Haz
Can you really not get them in the US?
we have green grapes but no ideal their name
it may surprise our american friends, but small boxes of sultanas are considered by our school children as the ultimate snack for scholl lunch boxes.
We have Ernest Adams fruit cakes here and they are yummy - but not cheap
*school *
morning haz
they just label them as green grapes---seedless or with seeds
hey haz
excuse me.. good morning. :D
hi Haz
our raisins are a larger type of grape.
Hello everyone.
Hi Haz and Lynx
I would like to try fresh figs from right off the tree one day
we have them here pugs
zillions of them
We have a fig tree but it doesn't produce the best fruit
theres none near me
Does your climate allow?
I bet they taste nothing like whats in the stores
If so they grow really easily from cuttings/slips
Mine must not for Ive never seen any here
i'm having lots of missing t's
I think our winters are too cold for figs
ruru, te x 12, th x 6, ti x 1, tu x 4. hope that helps
Could be pugs, we get frosts but no snow at ground level, just on surrounding hills
sorry, th x 7
For the Xmas cooks - I have made 2 of these so far - rich, more-ish - great for little presents. http://recipes.coles.com.au/recipes/32\n66/italian-panforte/
of course delete the \n
thanks lyn, will look into it

tyvm Rose
no, he's sitting in the chair next to me
:D
time to put marzipan on fruit cake so you can all say 'ugh' in unison - apart from rose!
yum yum yum
I can't eat marzipan..
shame ruru
I cant knock it for Ive not tried yours----:)
strange..another thing you and don have in common. he hates marzipan
what is it?
almond flavoured icing
some kind of blackbird?
you put it on the cake underneath the final icing.
ahh, thanks
If you're icing fruit cakes, marzipan is used to act as a buffer between the cake and the icing - stops the fruit from discolouring the icing and also helps to smooth the surface.
are these fruitcakes you are making good for a hundred years or more? Like these here
Our fruitcakes are edible so they don't get to last a hundred years.
*giggle* if you soak enough brandy into them.
if I ever get the treat to travel afar I will have to try your countries cakes
*makes note* when pugs comes to visit, keep a bed handy..for her to fall onto.
okay Rose!
yeah after the world's atomic bombs go off.. three things will survive.. cockroaches, coyotes, and fruit cakes
hi gang!
Hi Pip
hi pippin
wow. I haven't seen you in months
can't actually stay since i'm prepping for a final exam, but wanted to say hello, it's been too long as I have been obnoxiously busy
lolol, ruru. and g'day pip
school and work, work and school
just u.s. fruitcakes, not u.k. fruitcakes.
britons make the most wonderful cakes of all kinds.
yes.. mab.. just the US fruit cakes
oh.. school comes first pippin
Hi mab
hi ms. pug
just popping in briefly until i feel sleepy
and oz fruit cakes...and helloooo mab
i miss ruru's goat. hi rose!
we never even use marzipan
we only have fluffy sugary nothing cakes mostly.
well the cake does have to last long enough for the fruit stain to leach through...mine never last that long.
are you baking alot Rose
not at present, pugs. i used to. but since don dismantled the kitchen....nah, not going there. will spoil the mood..lol
do you need a easy bake oven?
when my kids were school age, saturdays were my baking days. i used to make 5 dozen cookies, three large cakes, and 3 slices every week.
wow
pugs, i need an oven...full stop.
are braxton and his family coming over the holiday
you must be the Betty Crocker of Australia :D
on boxing day, they will be a part of our annual celebration.
My first cookbook was a BC , a gift from my mom when I set up my own housekeeping--I use it alot
*giggle* ruru. i had/have so many recipes. i am so looking forward to having a functional kitchen again.
I bet hes getting close to walking isnt he
i hope not, pugs..he is only 5 months old.
don is remodeling is he?
I was thinking he was older--sorry
clothing or ads in the paper?
oh RE-modeling :D
mab, first our bedroom, lounge room. then the kitchen/laundry area. i am still considering hiring a 'builder' to do the kitchen. it is a rather large job.
ruru. naughty man..
ohhh.... a fixer upper
mab, don has a degree/diploma in several areas. i just have to give him the time and space to do stuff. he has been told all his life that he did something wrong. he now takes about 10 measurements for everything he does.
oh i see. well, he will do it nicely i'm sure. but a stove would be a rather nice appliance to have right away.
good morning all!
lol..so totally agree, mab. but he is happy to do all the cooking for now..and i am happy to let him do it.
i admire DIY people.
HI Sprite! hugs
hi sprite!
ohhh, sprite. i did email you, dear. is all well?
what did the doc say
hi rose! *hugs* Finally! Read your email, will get back at you right after babble.
hi pug and mab :) *hugs*
no news from the doc yet, we will try again on Monday.
does that mean no news is good news?
no, it just means the results weren't in yet. Which means nothing in itself, probably just busy laborants and maybe some people on holidays.
lovely to see you all.
hi Sprite
has any of the swelling went down yet
hi lyn :) xxx
hmmph...don't they know we are hanging on by the fingernails for the results. how rude!!
I agree, lol
have a heavy rainstorm moving in on me so I might lose connection
Be safe, dear puglet.
pug, no not yet, but we can hope...
hi peach :)
I hope it will be kind to you, yours and your connection, pug
will do Peach--got my canoe ready--lol
thanks
Good, pug.
probably would be better off with life-preserver jacket..
Hi there, sprite.
Sprite, did you see all the wonderful K words?
How are things going, sprite?
awww, peach, no shut-eye yet? poor love.
are you ok, peach? You don't 'sound' ok?
never thought of that Rose :)
hush, pug, I trying to find them without them knowing it...
good morning all .. is that the list inl lickety... games says 226, list says 225.
HI Ivesy
so that was the silent scream...sprite
hiya ivesy! Sounds like lickety is missing one then.
roflol rose, true
ives, there are 226 words. not sure which one is missing from lickety's list
thanks granny..how are you feeling...beside with your hands i mean..groan, very old joke
lol
*groan* ives!!! pain managed quite well. swelling in lower legs and feet not so good. MIL's rooms well and truly on the way to being claimed as ours.
what happen to Peach?
am so happy to see you back, rose. *hugs*
don't know... peach, where are you?
some good news, some bad..glad you are managing pain well.....
okay, lickety is missing the plural of ha5/22.
ME TOO! Its not the same when someone is missing! Now to see Joso would set my mind at ease
I'm here. Just toodling along.....getting sleepy though.
ty granny..it would have drove me nuts lol
I am worried about joso. He hasn't been on for too long.
yeah...where is the joso? is it gaming night/weekend? in that case we won't see him until monday.
its been over a week now thats hes not been on--I even emailed him and nothing
will email him too after babble.
hah. Ks killed.
probably trying to organise the living quarters. he did have lots of boxes still to unpack.
yay, you, sprite
Sprite all went good at the doctors with sister
was just thinking about that, pug. How did you fe4 being outdoors again? And am glad all went good with the doctor, but what did he say about her BSL spikes?
sugars were good, bloodpressure good and she even lost 5 pounds------we stayed out for over 5 hours! Just walking and stuff---walked so much I had mild leg cramps in my calves
wow awesome! Am so glad for both of you. Sorry about the leg cramp, but I bet it was worth it :)
it was
rose, sounds like such a brilliant plan to have the rooms for you and Don. Airco must be such a blessing in temps like you are having.
May I please have a clue for any 'un' words? Thanks
un + game, *** and match.
* smiling at you, dearest* yeah, try telling it to the SIL's. well, are they in for a surprise. we are hoping to be in the rooms just after christmas.
peach, are you ok, hun?
Thanks much, sprite. Just tired and sleepy, hon.
un6, un + take it easy
and 2 to do with before taking off shoes
three un words have to do with shoe strings
the SILs are still their own unhelpful, selfish selves. You can't wait for them to come to their senses. Glad you are going through with it all.
un7, un + abbreviation for road + slippery fish
uv4, uv + 2 vowels
ok peach, was worried for a bit :) *hugs* for you.
thanks Rose
thanks rose and mab
everything will be in our old bedroom. they can work through the stuff there.
Thanks so much, got all except the un5-12 the 2nd.
Thanks sprite, please keep me in your prayers.
un5, un + game, ***, and match
I will, peach, very much so.
un + male neck wear
as I will also Peach
me as well, ms. peach
just brilliant, rose. Let them do it where it won't be a bother to you and Don.
Thanks to all my peeps. It's almost 5:30AM and I will start getting ready to try to sleep. Blessings
yeah, sprite. and don and i will be sitting in the cool, while they sweat it out...lol
I hope you can sleep now, peach. Sleepful blessings to you.
peach, my dear. i do so hope you are able to rest.
just perfect, rose. About time. You two so deserve to be on the right side of things for a chance.
night Peach, take care
for a change
and has anyone heard from our ruby?
she was on yesterday. Same same, alas.
I talked to her yesterday for a sec
such a good plan rose. you and don can have plenty of healing space and time. good thing.
okay...i hope she is well.
she did send me a pic of her dog this morning or I seen it this morn
thanx mab. certainly that is my plan. going for meds. brb
well that line of rain has passed---we are to have them off and on all day long
glad you could stay online, pug
I am too
btw... good news! Or rather great news. Tim has ended up as #3 of 20 students presenting their thesis on the university.
oh wow! good for him! That makes you feel proud no doubt
that's lovely. what a bright young man.
(t'is your son, yes?)
very very proud. He did well, and worked hard for it, and is very proud of himself now too. Which I think is a good thing.
yes, he is, mab!
what was his topic?
I would think so too--and all that has happen it has to boost him up too
it is always good when young people feel academically proud, i think.
quantum physics, mab. He went to CERN with school last year and decided to do his thesis on that. Then he got really into things and found a coach on the university of Amsterdam, who enjoyed working with him on the subject, and his teacher at school demanded he took things a bit further than necessary for school. So he has really exceeded all expectations.
yes, after flunking last year, he really needed a boost. And this one he created for himself, so that is all the better.
that's wonderful.
and fascinating too.
lol... ok, proud mama rant over now...
could I please have a clue for the f5-24
it is just that it is a difficult field of study, and he must have great self discipline as well as sheer intelligence - i love successful young person stories.
pugs, if you believe in God, you have fa5
fa5: I like him best, he is my f**orite + you and me
sorry, fa5/24, lol, as sprite clued
so true, mab. It is a field of study that didn't even exist in my youth. So sometimes he kind of loses me when he talks about it, lol. But it doesn't matter. He is so enthusiastic, it is wonderful to watch.
thanks--i typed that once and it wouldnt take
and sprite...tell Tim....WOW!!!from me
will do, rose! :)
must lie down, close eyes, pretend to be sleeping....
lol mab, ok... better yet, sleep for real, dear friend. *hugs*
bye Mab---hope you can sleep
i did physics in secondary school...was way beyond me.
mab...hope you rest well...

No problems, ((Rose)) hope you have a sweet sleep, Rose.
good-night....zzzzzz
It was not too bad in the end, Puglet, I even got myself a new pair of shoes..well trainers (Sneakers) but thought i would treat myself..lol
nothing wrong with that
The car was full of bags one was my shoes all the others was my sisters ( i carried most of them) haha
you seem like an awful good brother
We always have got on well plus both of us helping our parents seems to have brought us even closer :-)
Sorry for the delay...was waiting for the babble freeze to stop...lol
babble turnover-------thats so nice Zoom---does she have kids
My sister has two children a girl & boy.
its nice you guys live close enough to help each other and your folks too
Yes it is nice..although the rest of the family live further afield so do not have much contact with them.
how many siblings do you have
One..but it is a sore thing to talk about, Pugs, so i will skip over that bit.
np Zoom
Has the rain stopped where you are...we are having heavy down pours here & rather windy too?
I have 5 sisters(Iam the oldest) and as the years p\have passed we are not as close and three hase moved quite far away
No zoom- its not to stop untll tomorrow sometime
but it sure beats the snow and ice
Sorry to hear that it has not worked out well, Pugs, I think many many families are simlilar to our situations.
Yes i agree do not want any snow this year..fingers crossed..lol
I think you are right. The family unit is not as strong as in years ago
do you get deep snow there
I purchased a small christmas tree over twelve years ago now..about 30 inches tall so small..lol..i got lots of lights and decorations on it..it looks great apart from the fairy on top is about a quarter of the size of the tree...it does make me smile..she looks like a giant on the tree.
No not here, Pugs, at most i have seen here on the isle of wight..i would say about five inches.
Lickety, the word that is missing is the ha 6/36, the plural of the first ha word
well you done more than I--lol----last year I found a xmas tree salt and pepper shaker and I used that as my tree on the table--lol
Noted..thanks for that, o-o, And hello to you.
Mornin OO and how are you today
Aww nothing wrong with that, Puglet, Sounds nice!
irascible
at least Zoom your tree dont sound like a charlie brown tree
Sorry to hear that, o-o :-(
I do like the tree..and i can pick it up and place it into a biggish bag and place it in the loft untill the next time :-)
had to look it up and dont sound like its too pleasent. Did you wake up like that or has something happen
I know dressing the tree is supposed to be fun each year but i don't mind having it done in seconds..lol
that saves you alot of time then--lol
not an unusual circumstance
do you bake cookies and stuff too
Yep out of bag plug in lights..Done!
I hire people to walk around yelling bah humbug
then I hope something happens today for you OO that changes those feelings
Do i heck..i very rarely cook since leaving my cheffing job due to depression..lol
You can buy the Bah humbug hats too :-)
how much do you pay for that? I might like earning some extra money-lol
I would have to shout it myself..not sure i could afford to hire anyone to do it..lol
hahaha i like it, Puglet, nice little earner!
yesterday on the news they were paying ten dollars an hour for people to shovel snow for a football game---wish I lived close enought to get on that :)
I want a Bah Humbug hat!!! Hi, all.
hi hydra
Hello, Hydra :-)
Hello, puglet and zoom!
Sounds good to me too, Puglet, not sure if my back would agree with me though..lol
I see there is an se 5.10 word that I'm gonna need after Christmas dinner!
lol
I have a sign on my door that tell's the world Santa has halitosis
hahaha..you are bad, o-o...teehee
Ha ha! That's great, o-o.
Need to get off and take care of some things here---have a good day OO, zoom and hydra---take care
do not know why I put that apostrophe in there
Bye, puglet. Hope you get everything done.
halitosis - better than no breath at all!
be well, pug
Have a great day, Puglet :-)
Very true, bojazz
But santa's breath backs the scarecrows out of the field at forty yards
I think i put far too many apostrophes into my sentences, o-o
Maybe he starts the sleigh by breathing on the reindeer, lol
hahaha
56 words in and i only now find the word of where i am going when i die He4/5..lol
Ha ha. I'll see you there, zoom
Teehee!
the Iroquois tribe is back .... also known for the convention on women's rights in 1848
Reminds me of a joke. A man dies and goes to he 4.5. The devil says he has a choice of where to spend eternity. He throws open a door and the man sees people threshing round in a pit of snakes. 'No way,' he says, 'I'm not going there.' The devil opens the next door and the man sees people being tortured by ghastly monsters with whips and prongs. 'No!' he cries. 'You have one more choice,' says the devil. He opens another door and the man sees a load of people standing up to their waists in sh*t, drinking cups of tea. 'That doesn't look too bad,' says the man. 'You can put me in here.' Whereupon the devil blows a whistle and yells, 'Okay, tea break's over, back on your heads!'
hahahaha i like that...good one.
Wonder what an ostrich would think of that?
hilarious
Maybe an ostrich is a reincarnation of one of the tea-drinkers, o-o!
Thanks for the SE 6/21, o-o
Could be.
Hello, Lil*monkey :-)
Morning :)
Morning, lil'monkey. I have lowered the tone of the conversation already.
The devil must of been in a good mood when he let them have a tea break...lol
First time I can recall the list being short a word.
Too true! Maybe it's so they can wash their mouths out and then it will taste worse when they go back on their heads!
Is it, o-o? Which word?
Very strange was trying to work that one out...but my little brain could not,o-o
ha 6/36
Thanks. I am still working on the c's.
plural of a diacritical mark
A whaaaaat? Will have to look that up!
Teehee you are not alone, Hydra, i do that a lot.
I have an honours degree in English but I've never heard of one of those.

Hello again
Hello, Lynxxx!
that volcano was hiding!
hi Zooz!
I heard it keeps erupting.
it won't take ensuite no matter how many times I try it
the volcano is a two-fer .... poker term reversing the letters
Oh yes..very good, o-o
I missed that one.
going blank on the term for frontwards and backwards words.. g1 , o-o, will just call it a twofer
I had the other ending though..doh.
palindrome
that is it! ty
Lynxxx, i have tried it too several times..so annoying.
Another phantom: Confetti
This is not funny..i am finding more non words than words in the grid..lol
in this case not a palindrome but a reverse palindrome or an anadrome
like stressed and desserts for example
very cool, lynxxx
the world is getting a bit too much when desserts get stressed
Ditto, Aloy!
haha, o-o
am getting a bit stressed over lo6.24 - is it a fish?
I can't help, sorry, Aloy.
add detective charlie
will come back to it, have been spinning wheels
wow, that did it.. tyvm, o-o

Why were we talking about plural diacritical marks?
the word missing from Lickety's list
Is the plural the missing word? How can that be? There isn't a d in the grid?
nice o-o TY
the pl of ha5.22, and the ha5 has no d in it
Ah, then it is a type of plural diacritical mark. I missed that.
good morning everyone
hi Cross
Hello, Crossy :-)
howdy crossy
I can see what type of grid this is going to be right off the bat. darn enable will not take ensuite
yep - that was my first try too
Yep..a few of us have already tried that..i just took the first two letters off and had to be satisfied with that..lol
there is a light at the end of th tu6.21 if only I could find su6.24
ah - now if you can only find it
yup, my last word
is that a clue, Lynxxx?

Good day to all. Our snow is melting. *SOB*

vi 4/7
was all freezing rain here last night, scrabby.now the hills and trails are a ruin
hi scrabbs
vi 4 7
We had over 40 inches of snow so it is shrinking and the air is very foggy.
ty all
I could still snowshoe or ski but the rain is annoying.
though minus 14 for the 24th and x-mass so things will be back in shape fast
Mornin' folks. Rapid snow melt here in southern New England
i can hear cars sliding all over the place out there:((. think i will wait for the plows and sanders to get ahead of it all
Same here, Crossy. Sub-zero and snow again by Monday.
Bichon, I saw the dogs on TV.
Weren't they cute?
NOw they are home and can get dirty again
Yes, and well-behaved.
Hopefully some adopter will grab them up
Funny you should say that. I have a strong feeling Benedryl paid a part of that. They are always itching and scratching
*played
Aha.
They seem to have some allergies
Abby is very sedate, but Murphy is a pistol
Must be hard for all you white Christmas folk to visualise ours - hot weather, swimming, cold food - wouldn't seem like Christmas at all!
I played with my friend's dogs yesterday afternoon--a big, lanky Chocolate Lab and a curly-haired Peke-a-Poo.
So true, dofith!
We were Hawaii for the holiday once.
One day I'd love to be in one of your countries for Christmas.
I was in Florida (Sarasota) one year a few wks before Xmas and it was odd to see Xmas decorations but no snow.
For Christmas here in souther New England we are going to have melted snow and slush. Not too inviting
Come on over, dofith. I live about an hour south of Niagara Falls.
I think it must be hard for some of our European migrants living through a heat wave at Christmas.
supposed to be in the 60s this weekend - but dropping back down next week - but no white christmas predicted
Rain and warm here.
I love your bunny icon, dofith. I have 4 house rabbits. One is under the couch now--she sleeps there all day.
I'll be there, Scrab - and would love to cuddle your bunnies! Miss my old bunny - George Henry Bunn- very much.
What breed?
Scrabs lives in a winter wonderland, but you need to drive a Subaru
Yes, I envy you, Scrab. GHBunn was a house rabbit - had run of house and yard - very safe.
I live across the valley from a ski resort.
What are stats for that "missing" H please?
Don't bunnies get fleas if they go outside?
lil*monkey--I haven't seen you in a LONG time!
what is a "missing" H?
They can get fly strike--maggots.
yes I know! I took a 2 year hiatus
The H word is in the puzzle but not in Lickety List
What do you do for maggots
Ooh, skiing too! Better and better! George Henry was just a big ol' white rabbit - New Zealand White, I think. The best pet ever.
Were you on Babble probation? Stuck in the PB? How are you?
sorry don't have a list yet
I'm fine, no not on probation, just needed a break from the chog drama.
Destroyed every electrical cord, carpet and curtain in the house but we loved him to bits.
Bichon, wound cleaning and medication, I think. My bunnies are indoors only.
Lickety's list has 225 words, not 226
Don't blame you Scrabs
It is good to see you, lil.
common up and visit crossy, dofith. i am a 3 hour drive north of scrabby.will take you snowshoing and make you a big crossy breakfast
maggots are excellent for wound care therapy
lil*monkey--the chog drama persists, so be prepared to lurk.
Yes I know Scrabbler... I have been back about two weeks and I usually lurk due to sniping, elitist comments and that kind of ugliness.
With bacon, Crossie?
'morning, everyone
True, dofith--I have had many electrical cords of alarm clocks and floor lamps destroyed.
but of course!!
en7?
What is going on here lil*monkey and Scrabs. I never see any of this
howdy,welki
And welki is here. Chat log is flying now.
GH never got fleas, fortunately.
actually,i thought the chog has been kind of calm last week or 2
Bichon, you don't notice the sniping?
Actually my first day back, herinferlady came on and had a hissy fit about someone
spirit of the season and all that:)
EN 7 / 8 - en + canvas dwelling + vowel and then pl
<-- stays away from chat, too. i witness enough crap in everyday life
Neither do I. Maybe I am on when it is not happening
Scrabs, how come they are never electrocuted?
No, not when I'm on. I only see nice, caring, fun people. Must be really dense
thank you , excellent clue for en7
Lucky, I guess.
TY, teach
yvw
I think it is mostly in the evenings, bichon.
need a clue for my last 7 - i think from the chog it is CO 7
yep, thanks, teach :)
I haven't seen herin in a long time
what about the poor pet bunnies in the UK?? my god, they will get zapped with 240V current if they chew wires
I rarely chat - sometimes when the conversation is cheerful and friendly!
I would stay away from nastines. Don't need any ofthat here
I guess they are grounded.
The bunnies, I mean!
dofith, just chat with the nice folks. There is no need to respond to nasty comments.
Naughty bunnies not allowed out to play!
working today, scrabbs? or do you get to ski/snowshoe?
stats for the 5th column e's, pls
Dofith, my bunnies are Miss Beatrix Potter (Holland Lop), Gandalf the Grey (mini-Rex), Tucker John (American Tan), and Sir Gulliver Rabbit (one lop ear)
my mrs wants to get little santa suits for our two black bombay kitties..groan
bottom corner is en + tie your shoes
welki, it has been raining since yesterday and will continue through tomorrow. I think I will ski and snowshoe anyway.
TY, monkey, I always miss that word.

Tomorrw 78 degrees F... we broke some kind of record. It is usually about 40 degrees here at this time of year.... HELLooooooooo Lady biotch
we're coming off a series of nasty storms - the roads have been miserable, tragic weather-related fatalities. *sigh* i wish folks would be more careful
Lovely, Scrabs. Would love to meet them one day. GH had one lop ear, too. Always looked like his ears had been stuck on in a hurry!
Same here, welki.
co7 - cooked duck plural
And love the names! Do you home abandoned bunnies?
thanks, bea!
yw
These 4 were rescued in some form--3 were no longer wanted by their owners. Tucker was a baby at a pet store where the pets can be handled by people. I saw kids playing with him and dropping him so I left the store with him and with the supplies I went to buy.
enoki
TY, monkey, Ideal clue.
fa vie
And plural
I thought it was very succinct.
sorry
Twas, monkey.
My kitties are tearing up the place!
Silly cats.
Right now is a bad time for bunnies for that reason - nearly as bad as Easter - all those terrified poor little things being given as gifts etc. Lucky Tucker!
Lots of dogs get given up because they pee on the tree and presents
That is how acquired my best bunny ever, Sebastian, a 1 kg Netherland Dwarf. He died 2.5 yrs ago and I miss him. He was very bonded with me and slept with me.
Off to bed for me - nearly 11.30pm here (West Aust.) Happy babbling, everyone - and Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah if I don't call in again.
Sleep well, dofith!
It makes me ill the reasons for giving up a pet.
Hannuka was way back at Thanksgiving
Yes, Bea. People would give their kids away too if they could. Instead, they neglect or abuse them.
Oh, sorry my Jewish friends! I knew it was late in year but not quite when. (We don't have Thanksgiving, of course!)
Bichon, do you do anything at Christmas?
There were days I would have given away my teen dughters, Scrabbs...
Adolescent girls are my most difficult patients. I dread seeing them.
I'm glad I didn't give them away. They are very wonderful young women.
I am glad they emerged from the Dark Side.
So many do not.
I wasn't sure about the one with ADHD, but she has made a wonderful life.
So many latch on to loser guys and get pregnant. I see it far too often.
And it starts the cycle all over.
Is there an extra h in the stats?
Yes, someone said that Lickety is missing an H word.
Must head to the sewing machine...Back during the KU game...Rock Chalk! pfft!
Bye, Bea.
Scrabs, I went to QP today and all I get are ads, what gives?
Hm, I haven't been there yet.
It's fine for me, bichon.
i am in Lickety and have all the H words
I click to play and just get ads. Maybe I'll clean my cache and reboot. That always works
does anyone had a different clue for the co 7 other than a cooked duch of which i have no idea at all?

hi
i have decided to keep this new computer build of mine FB free, please pass my condolances on for me to those i used to annoy in there;)
hi dcseain
I will mss you there Crossy.
Will you be gone forever, then?
noted, crossy.
afternoon, hego
it was really, really starting to annoy me,hego. the way fb is now it delves into everything about you.nothing is private.hell,i had to build a new computer just to uninstall it properly;)
hi again Seain.
cross i have not been on as much since i got hacked
hi, all I am apparently missing an h5, ;ower left corner. I have ha5/22, 4/5x2, 5/12, 4/5x2, 5/12, so what's missingg?
maybe not forever, but this computer is running clean and fast and am enjoying it for the nonce
there is a plural missing, I need it also.
plural the ha5/22
cross was your other computer running loud when on fb?
ha 5,22. plural it.
uninstall instructions for facebook: tools needed one phillips scewdriver and a good bonfire.undo side panel of computer using screwdriver thus removing side panel.take a firn grip on your hard drive and pull. now toss har drive on bonfire. Now take new hard drive and reinstal your operating system and you are good to go
clue for the ha 5/22 please?
MLF,my computer was a total disaster whith fb getting ito every bit of software i owned
need help with the EN 5/18 and EN 6/30 - is it a combo - any helplease
h + an *** beats a King + o*, I will do it....
cross how did it happen cross?
en5/6 combo is a type of mushroom
ty pen
it is tough to pin it down,MLF. it is different for all,but there are so many things and agreements turned on by default that it becomes a mess
yw...
cross that is true
why didnt you just cancel your account?
and FB is such a pain to uninstall proerly, that i just chose the less painfull route and got a new 500 gig hard drive for 65 dollars and killed the old one
have you ever tried to totally remove FB from your computer MLF?
it is not as easy as all that
no i havent
now i just use the old one as an external back up slave drive
fb is like hotel california "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" lol
Cross i thought that was the Bate Motel?
ahh good old Norman and his mum
lol
and now it is time for a bonus crossy's famous last words!! "this is no time to be making enemies" - Voltaire on his deathbead after the priest advised him to renounce Satan.
nice one, crossy
very good!
:)
this grid is kicking my butt:(
good afternoon Babbleonians
howdy,bichon
It is not friendly!!
Hi Bichon
all these 4 letter s words.think they would be easy to find but noooo...
I need 13 more k words. What's up with that?
hate k words
well,i have 19 or the 20 k workds.will trade for some s words
of
Wait, now I only need 12, progress
several soda words in there.
coke? pepsi?
lol,so it is
off to the pb i go
well you got one anyway....lol...
you can drink it in the pb... ;o)
um, and they are...
funny, i went the other direction with soda, and now and having fond memories of "inca," the lovely bubble gum flavored golden soda
love the term "soda" when we thing soda,we think soda water, like tonic water etc
think
It's soda here in the Northeast, but other parts of the country it's pop. In the South they call all soft drinks Coke
crossy passes around nice warm toques to all his american friends
i like to call them sodypop, to confuse all the regionalists
interesting,bichon
tonic in New England, is it?
sorry to break it to you,but even sodypop is reigional
:(
No, tonic is tonic, but soda is soft drinks
No, tonic is tonic, but soda is soft drinks
crossy, i was thinking of you earlier, watching a video of a husky puppy learning to howl
why did that remind you of crossy
because he is a wolf
and lives in the tundra
(which is what i call anything colder than where i live)
afternoon alls
we call it all pop.you can blame it on the very first way it came bottled. they used to use what is called "codd stoppers" these beautifull collectable bottle have a marble in the neck of the bottle and a rubber gasket up by the top.the carbonation of the drink would hold the marble in place. To open these, you would take a pencil or twig and rap sharply on top of the marble, breaking the seal. This action would always make a loud "pop" sound and so the name stuck
first ch 7, anyone?
aroooo
You live in Brookly, pippin. That's where I was born
Ah, Brooklyn, the mother land....
the first ch is a variant spelling of the Jewish braided bread
I was born at the Brookly Naval Yard, shortly after WWII
sorry wrong word
ty monkey!
the first ch7 is ch + al5
i have a codd stopper in my collection.beautifull thick glass.Interesting to think these were all make in england at the time and would of had to come over here packed in chests and barrels on the old clipper ships
the braided bread is ch6/27
Bichon, my father worked there during the war.
sad to think now it's just where they tow cars to
I have that one, ty Monkey.
We ived in Manhattan.
Wow, hego. My Dad worked there for a while after the war. He was still in the Navy
We moved from Brooklyn , Brownsville to Far Rockaway in 1950
co 6/30 plz
there's no challah in the grid today.
And we moved to NJ. Small world.
I said variant spelling
clue at 3:19
co6 is a food word. pro and *** and a siezure.
I have the ch 6, but not the 7
or the proper size is a good ***
me too Bichon.
can someone clue the ch 7 differently, pls
ch7 is ch + by yourself
very fast Monkey
okay, already had that. I thought the 7 was a pl of the Jewish bread
hego, are you in south Jersey?
this grid is brining on a seizure...

Must go. Great weekend to all!!!
POOF!
crossy hopes there is a special place in hell for those who make up web site with nothing but those massive user roatational 360 degree panoramic photos that take 300 years to load:)
I just downloaded a Malware detector and found over 600 pieces of malware on my laptop
carefull with those ,bichon
many are saddled with bloatware
I complained to my son, who works for Google about it. He said he has a knack for recognizing malware.
instead load ccleaner and ad-aware
like i say,be carefull
why crossy. This was recommended by a site administrator
I have ccleaner
well, bounce it off your son first
good
I am afraid to download the adware cleaner. I don't know what I'll download with it.
i have seen many good computers loaded down with crap bloatware from all those amazing mal-ware detectors
but do what you think best
and read fine print
what exactly is bloat ware?
i have done it to myself in the past lol
bloat ware is the crap that comes along with what you really wanted.like making its parent site your home page, adding 5 nifty new tool bars and its own proprietray downloader all all in one big bundle
then the fun is to try and get rid of it all
Okay, that happened to me recently. What a pain to get rid of all that crap
it can be.once i had to go right into the computer registry to remove it all
I don't know what the computer registry is, but lots of times when I was uninstalling stuff, it seemed to take forever
well,i do not advise going into the registry unless you have someone with you who is familliar with it
one wrong move in there and your computer becomes a very expensive door stop
I discovered the malware today when I tried to play QuotePower [Scrabs and Haz play too] It just gave me ads, but my Chromebook didn't have that. Their site admin guided me to a Malware detector he uses
No, wouldn't do that
what is this mal-ware detector called? as a babble friend, i want to investiage this
investigate
you do have system restore running?
Malawarebytes
What is a system restore?
ok,looking at it now
ok.it is a good one.system restore is a feature in the last 3 windows operating systems where you can select a date off the provided list and return your computer to that time.thus removing any problem software you have installed since that date
I have windows 7, is that the last 3? I don't know if I'd want to do that unless I was desparate
start/my computer/control panel/action centre/system restore
like i say it is good if you recently have loaded a problem program
you can go back one day,3 or even 10 days
yes,it is on win 7
As I said, only if I was desparate.
well,i do not load too muc critical data on a daily basis so it is hand to remove one stubborn, recently loaded program
handy
that way my computer is sparkly clean all the time.there is no time for mal-ware to build up
that in conjunction with c cleaners and window security,i am in good shape
that mal-ware program seems ok,but i have never used it myself
let me know how it works out for you.
So far it has. I am able to play Quote Power again
Ty for your efforts crossy
and it removed it all without prompting you to buy the pro version before removal? that is a nice change
all is well then
correct me if i am wrong in this but in a recent news clip,France is going on about the first viable artificial human heart, but was that not the jarvex 7 many years ago??
here is the french article.. http://tinyurl.com/lcn28zw
Yes, it did crossy
an extra H in the puzzle today?
yes, Lickety doesn't have it, but I don't know the stats
ha 5/22 and 6/36 combo
HA 6/36 - pl of the HA 5
and it is a rare babblet i have never seen in the 5+ years i have been babbling
someone spoon fed it to me earlier
something to do with punctuation...i think
Yes, it's a diacritical mark

It adds a frictive trill, whatever that is
help pls with en5/12
hello all
howdy,peri
Good Afternoon everyone.
ohhhh! THAT fricative trill! well, why did they just not say so?
lol
Almost evening here
howdy,nef
Crossy, I was reading back and got all excited about seeing you mention something I worked with: the Jarvik 7!
5;50 pm here and ark as the hubs of hell;((
dark
did you nef?? that is awsome:))
I took care of the first female to ever have one. She was a wonderful person, and her family was so nice too
I found the ha5 in my scrabble dictionary.
so,the way to a mans heart is not through his stomach after all ,we just get nef to build me a new one:))
THe Jarvik was a huge machine; it filled the anteroom to the patients room
any help with the en5/12?
my beloved says my heart is built of the same stuff they make football helmets with anyways;))
do not have it,peri
en5/12 is French word for boredom
I don't see it on morewords
ty lil*
so it is. ty lil monkey. have not seen you here in a long time, wb
de rien
thank you peri
I watch Jeoopard too
Jeopardy even
ty lil m
I had to type that clue quickly, before you had a chance to say "never mind" haha
i hate watching that show.makes me feel like i should go back to my corner and grunt while banging two rocks together
the last time I worked with a heart pump was back in 2007; we had several patients with VADs (Ventricular Assist Devices) and these were portable and used as bridge to transplants. I imagine they've come a long way since then too.
it is amazing how far they have come
i have had lickety up and running for the last 15 min and i still need 80 words;((
Have any of you ever noticed how rare it is for a grid to have a "B" in it?
Someone mentioned that to me recently; and I've been watching since then and I rarely see a B. Very odd to me
i have never noticed.would be interesting to figure out the least seen letter
BBS; need to switch laundry around
I am tired of this grid and still have 50 left

Just made a roast in my slow cooker with potatoes and onions and lots of French onion soup flavor and it is fantastic! Don't even need a knife...just use fork to take pieces off the roast....happy.
hungry now
but enjoying fantasy pot roast
Oh, mab, I've been smelling this for hours---amazing.
it sounds divine
sometimes i crave beef, and what is better than a tender roast? with baby carrots.
This was my first attempt at a roast in my new slow cooker and I was nervous. I'll have enough left over for great roast beef sandwiches with horseradish mustard.
I didn't have room for carrots this time as I really wanted lots of onion wedges and potatoes...next time.
yum
back again. I love to use the slow cooker for roasts, Mimi. it's so easy and they always turn out so tender when we do them that way.
I used a can of root beer with the canned and dry onion soup because it is supposed to tenderize.
onions are the best. root beer i must remember.
My new "old" cooking device is a pressure cooker; we bought one several years ago, use it for a bit; and it got put up and out of sight so haven't used it for a while. Ifound it a few weeks ago and started using it again and it also makes roasts so tender that they melt in your mouth!
Can't believe I went this long without one! My frame of reference was the old crock pots but they just didn't hold enough so I didn't bother. The cooker I have is 8 qts., so plenty of room for a whole chicken or a whole roast plus veggies.
RooT Beer? That's interesting. My daughter uses Pepsi or coke as a tenderizer for ham though.
i wonder if it is the sugar that tenderizes.
I used a rump roast instead of chuck because I wanted lots of meat for sandwiches. Yes, Nef, any dark cola works...don't know why.
I don's suppose diet soda would work, would it? ;-)
Wouldn't know, Nef....never touch the stuff!
FW!
I've been looking into all sorts of naturopathic remedies and info on food and it's amazing how much misinformation is out there. For example, did you know that butter is actually better for you than margarine?
yay monkey!
Clues needed before I go?
am missing ten L words... but tackling them now.
Yep...I need many clues but they have nothing to do with the grid, monkey!
good evening! I really wasn't expecting the words I put in for the upper right E to work...
me either... ;o)
Oh, the interesting thing about using cola is that you don't taste it at all in the finished roast....I only taste the French onion soup.
Going for second helping of roast...see you tomorrow and hugs all around.
Didn't even realize I should be in the PB for the cola comment!
penquis, care to clue the 2 upper e's?

aaahhh! I needed that 8 too. Thanks!
sorry, the bottom is is en6/21 en + to tie your shoes
here is a bottom e .... en + My Favorite Mar***n....
Thanks! French boredom came from a diff E though. Any other clues for the bottom E?
enkoch
mine may come from the other e, too....hard to tell...
Pen, I think that is not from that E either, I think I already have that word
oops
those E
Those E's and N's are so twisty it is hard to figure out.
sorry again, different e, I must stop trying to clue
the problem is that they all can come from another e....
Don't be sorry, Mary, it is great you tried and I didn't have that word!
Is there an ES?
no...
i think one of the en words comes from that e....
The bottom E ends in wedding dress material
so it has to be an EN then...
ch7, please?
ok, all the H words are ticked off in lickety but babble says I am missing an H word. what is the problem
Thanks Molly

Hands down, no word grates on Americans more than "whatever," a public opinion survey says. The casual "whatever" was rated the most annoying word by 38 per cent of 1,173 adults surveyed in early December by the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, based in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. That is up from 32 per cent a year earlier, pollsters said. What's more, "whatever" has topped the annoying word charts for five straight years. "The word can be very dismissive and rude," said Mary Griffith, media director for Marist. "It's a put-down to some extent and it can signal to the other person that what they are saying is not important."
Ooops. Sorry Off to PB box I go

9:13PM
we got snow after sleet a week or so ago and the streets still have thick layers of ice on them. St. Paul even had extra snow emergency days (meaning no parking on certain roads until they are cleared curb-to-curb) afterwards and we're still driving on slick snotty roads
yuck, nef
i remember a babble era when 'enola' was accepted.
It was sort of creepy to drive over Homestake Pass (the Continental Divide near Butte). The roads were, more or less, fine. But there was NO other traffic, which made me worry that the road was closed and I hadn't heard.....
or maybe i'm dreaming
i tried enola mab
doesn't work does it harp?
(leetmy keyboard is dying so it's slow typing so I can make this legible)
i think at one time it did work - a long time ago.
the en words are eluding me
I think you're pretty brave crossing Homestake Pass, harp!
it sounds alarming to be driving where you might get stranded.
I've had car trouble twice going over that pass in the winter; won't do it again.
yikes. must feel good to get home.
Average day in my life. You take food, extra clothes, a book to read, and your AAA card!
I've had worse days trying to go home from Missoula after a movie--only 45 miles.
i have two en words mab, en6/21, en5/18
beb!
done!
brb!
yeah, harp!
i must try to find my last three - en words - on my own since i got clues for the long ones.
else my babble skills will enthrophy
i man atrophy
We grew up with the winter emergency car kits (coffee can, smaller can candles, blankets, food, TP, etc) so that way we're prepared; but I don't like mountain passes with bad weather combined with either brake problems or steering problems.
YAY harp!!! WTG!!
yay harp!
can anyone please help with the al 5/6 before skin soother? not seeing them!

I've been doing laundry all day long; still have 1 load in the dryer and my bed to make and I'll be done. Don't know why there's so many clothes this week; but I think DH must have had a little stash of dirty clothes somewhere that he just found
evening all :) how's everyone?
hi jes.
going okay. thanx. how are you jes and nef?
(((((GR)))))) hey there! hey jess and enef and penquis and all!!!!
Nef's in the grid tonight :) Hi granny, doing well - just got home from the clinic christmas party
I'm getting tired. Otherwise ok
and here she is...hello dear stiddy
oh nef, you do so much!
left "shift" button is shot; the "A" key sometimes works and sometimes doesn't
hi stiddy :) did that tub place have any good soaking tubs I should come look at? They don't seem to have an online catalog...
:-) Did you see the pic of my clawfoot tub on the website yet? *proud mama look* it's ugly right now, but it will get so pretty!
the keyboard is tiring, not so much the laundryt
And yes, they had several... A lot of 5 footers, some that I think were at least 6 feet, and one 5 foot tub that was only about 22 inches wide (very narrow) that would suit a skinny room
Hello grannyrose, jesdraggon, nef and stidmama! Nice to see you all here! It has been a very quiet evening here.
hello Min!
quiet is good...
evening, min :)
brb, need to refresh my tea and plug in the computer. have been working in the bedroom this evening.
un7 please?
stid, I can't find your website anymore. I don't know where it went; used to have it bookmarked, but I can't find it anymore
un7 - like iron
it's stidmama.com, nef
stiddy, your bath is almost identical to mine. except mine has a higher 'back'. it is more like a slipper bath.
thanks, ursh :)
and you description of the plug and chain? well.. ditto here.
thanks, jes. (I don'tt think that's the one I used to have though
hey ursh and min
te6,21?
te6, exam + double vowel
duh, te6, te + cashew + vowel
I've never used a slipper tub, but I LOVE this one. It fits me perfectly, and when I put my feet at the one end the back is the perfect height to lean my head on the edge. :-)
start from bottom t
thankee... kept trying that without the vowel at the end :)
stiddy, ours is very deep. i wanted one in which don could lean back, relax and be fully immersed.
Tom doesn't like baths, so I was thinking about myself when I designed the space... only later I learned that IF he had a long-enough, deep-enough tub would Grant like to have a bathtub. I feel sad that I didn't make his bathroom big enough for him to have one. :-(
With 38 words left, I am useless and with 38 left I am off to bed. Goodnight to all babblers! See you later on today
sweet dreams Min!
we had an old claw foot tub when I was growing up. I loved it; but once fell in it as a young adult (I think I fainted, then fell and hit my head)and haven't liked tubs ever since
sleep sweet, minver. you're never useless! but sometimes sleep is more important than babble :)
I guess I'll start the grid... see how far I get in 45 minutes
niters Min!
oh, that's awful, Nef! glad you were okay, but what a scary thing
sweet dreams, min
I think that my family was scared too. I'd locked the door & no one could get in to see if I ws ok
I am just hoping that the measurements I took were accurate enough and there will be enough room for this tub for our plumber to put it in! (pretty sure it's okay, but some days it seems anything that can go wrong does...
no6,21?
did you wake up on your own then, Nef? no serious injury, I hope?
I did, jes. big lump on my temple; otherwise ok
no + one penny
thanks stid
yw, thanks for asking for it!
DH need to go to bed, I need to mke the bed now.
g'night, Nef, wish DH well
I think I'm quitting for tonight
(((Nef))) see you later
Niters!
night, nef.
is there an h from lower left that isn't listed in Lickety?
Today when we were at the house all the gas lines are in. The water lines are (mostly) in. The front door has been damaged because somebody closed it with a splinter of wood from inside and someone else pushed hard enough to open it, damaging the door in the process *grumble* but mostly good news. :-)
probably jes, shall i list the h's for you? he was missing one word.
looks like it should be an h6?
oh, i remember, the plural of the first ha5
d'oh. thankee, so obvious in retrospect!
word i wish was in puzzle: uncohesive
en7 and 8 after the chemical compound please?
hello jerry
ha! halfway already!
en + camp shelter + vowel, plural for en8
thanks, granny! that's firewords :)

not quite, stid, you just missed the penalty line :)
"co-kin" double first cousins? *wicked mama grin*
95 now, but slowing down fast.
wow!! you sure can type fast...
my fingers can, sometimes, but my brain doesn't do the front-loading it used to, that's for sure
lolol...strange that. is it contagious do you think? because i have the same problem.
hm. could be a computer-based virus... the protons flow from my eyes to the computer and transmit on the other end out your screen and into your eyeballs. ZAP!!!!
you have the virus...
ducks behind chair, missed me..hahaha
(zapzapzap)
rofl
*covers eyes with hands* now you can't see me, i'm hiding
how's your leg, should you be jumping around like that? *stern mama look*

*frogs start jumping around and jes realizes she mixed up the order of candy with bait for the fish tank*
*wicked mama grin*
oh yeah...lol
eew. no, these are definitely chocolate, and yummy. you're just jealous :D
brb, need a drink...and i'm not talking water either.
any hints for un 6, 5, 7?
yep. pretty much, jes. Wishing today that I could eat anything and not get sick. Ate a pecan roll this morning (only part of it) that is vegan and gluten free and STILL felt sick afterward. It's NOT FAIR!!! *stomps feets and causes small quake under the Salish Sea*
I have un 5/6 un + what you do with the stringy bits on shoes and "plural" form
and hello maggie
un5 is clear the table
hi
un7 is un+sounds like metal
great clues jes!
tyvm
i am so selfishly glad that I don't have food allergies... am i a bad person for that?
un 6/24?
no, you are fortunate! I am happy to know people who can eat anything I put in front of them. To be honest, sometimes when I have another allergic person around we end up eating very very little...
un6/24 is take out the strings from your boots
k
allergies would certainly make potluck dinners risky...
ty the un s did me in
welcome :)
I very rarely eat things other people have prepared. Mother's food is safe, my mother in law (who hasn't blessed us with her presense in years) needs supervision because she is unfamiliar with what to look for and avoid. Usually I just bring my own food.
go maggie go!
good evening, all :)
Don't get me wrong, I love my mother in law's cooking -- I miss her lovely gravies and biscuits and such... *sigh*
hey nan
hi nan
:)
hi stid -- is the house finished yet?
not even close, nan. It's taking so long, and I am so tired. Had been hoping we would be in a position this month that I could tile my shower while I have actual time, but it might have to wait until after we move in at this rate.
I have a year from the day the construction loan was signed, so technically I have until the end of July, but we have been in the aparment for nine months now and it is getting old.
wow - things really are moving slowly

whoa, one of the three of us is going to be very disappointed!

stid, your guess is missing the zero on the end
