*pokes pugs* WAKE UP!!!! i'm he4,....lol
lol, tried it twicwe
twice
Iam glad! I was really tired last night but couldnt get to sleep for nothing
aww poor pugs. i hate that. when your head won't turn off and allow you to sleep.
I know---why is that?
really coming to an ha 4 all of a sudden
i don't know. i have tried so many different things. i read until my eyes are closing, turn the light off, and bing!!! eyes wide open, so on goes the light, read some more...and...and
lol... sounds waaay too familiar
Oh, my goodness, rose. That
is what I go through every night.
I know, and worring about this and that and this person and that person
sometimes listening to one of my relaxing CD's helps. but then i have to wake up to remove the ear buds....and back to square one.
sa 7
is this something that comes with aging? LOL
Oh, pug, I go way back to my crib days. It is just awful.
so when i say i understand about insomnia, i do, right?
pugs, i wish. i have been like this for nigh on 35 years...
LOL Peach---sometimes I do that and I picture shoes I wore as a toddler
Hi all :)
hi Liz
Hi Liz :)
i hate it. i lie th5 in the dark, listening to don slumbering peacefully, almost in te4s with frustration.
Yep, pug.
thank goodness for babble....at least you dont feel like the only one awake--lol
g'day liz. hun, you would be so proud of me. i navigated my way around jigidi, found your beautiful puzzles, and actually completed one.
agree, pugs
Oh, yes, pug.
That's great, Rose :)
last night I had annapoohs anoring and the tick tock of the clock in my ear
Proud of you anyway!
he 7
rose, I have a question about jigidi.....what do we do when we need to leave the page and want to go back later?
*giggle* liz. i was chuffed that i was able to concentrate long enough to do it.
I can always make them smaller.
peach, i just open the page, login, and th4 i am where i was when i left.
Peach if you go back to the puzzle later it gives you the option to continue.
Rose, they do have small puzzles --- like 10 or more pieces
OK, I will try that. Thanks, rose.
So you could start a different puzzle if you wanted.
no. liz. i need to work on increasing my concentration. yes, i know, pugs. but i have to work on my concentration span.
I finished one tonight with almose 400 pieces.....there was a point when I thought I might lose my cotton picking mind.
I just started crossys lighthouse pic.
almost
what picture was it of Peach
good morning all
How do we find a certain person's picture, Liz?
Hi there, sprite
good morning Sprite! hugs
Peach, some of those large ones I sort by shape right from the beginning especially if not much colour in it.
{{hugs}} xoxox spritey
Hi sprite :)
hi Sprite
*hugs friends*
It was a quilt. Beautiful, but oh my.
brb
Hows the bug Sprite and how was yesterday
Just moving from iPad to computer then I'll answer you peach.
yesterday went well. Bug is persistent and and I am sore allover, but otherwise ok. How are things with you guys?
egad, weather forecast....back up to 104F on saturday.
Sprite has some nice puzzles too but under the na4 spritelet
peach: click Puzzles, then By user, then fill in name and hit enter
just thought I'd share something.....our ADHD/OCD g/son has been off medication since Sept last yr and is going great guns - he still has 'little fits/tantrums' but has learnt to control these by sticking his earplugs in and listening to music till he calms down....we are soooo proud of him.
Thanks sprite - I would've said that now I'm on my computer - lol!
oh wow dizgrannie!
gradually increasing my time on the exercise bike. all the way up to 2 1/2 minutes...
wow diz, quite a breakthrough
thats good news Diz
aw sorry Liz, lol
Happy for you to have done that!
wow rose, good job! Babysteps, remember? They will get you th5. *hugs*
That's fantastic, Diz :)
wow diz. that is a remarkable achievement for him.
s he feeling happier now too, dizgrannie?
Iam tired but other then that Iam fine, Sprite
Reading 4th book now, sprite - Kyrian. Fluff as you said, but great fun :)
yes a break through, he is even doing his homework on time, although he wants me and not his Mum to assist him....who cares as long as he is learning
am so happy, pug! Did you get to do your shpping?
yay Liz! Exactly. Entertainment in book format.
Couldn't have put it better myself, sprite.
:)
yes I did---was a nice day too---7 hours in town but got everything done
oh, and had the hair cut today. usually fang does it, but at the moment i feel disinclined to let her anywhere near my hair.
awesome, pug, am so glad. Now you can face the weather ordeal in relative comfort
very good, rose. You need to keep that lady out of your hair :D
yes,,,cant wait for the storms--LOL
Who knows what Fang would do?
Sprite, his reading has improved immensely since his teacher and his younger sister's teacher set a reading goal for them for the end of last year and he managed to beat his sister by 2 levels - great seeing he was 3 levels behind her
Which puzzle did you do, Rose?
alaskan ice, liz.
Wow Diz. That
That's great progress.
that is so awesome, dizgrannie. Am so glad for him. For you all.
Unbelievable seeing those bergs, Rose.
what a change, diz! that's amazing
Thanks, puglet and sprite.
i bet, liz.
give him a challenge and he is all for it....god bless the little bugga - but he still realises that not everyone can win
Your grandson must be feeling good about it too.
then he is wiser than many an adult, dizgrannie
for what Peach
Liz, he is over the moon. Apparently he is very popular now that he doesn't disrupt the class all the time.
Even better, Diz - breaking the reading barrier will have opened many lessons up to him.
Kids often disrupt as a means of hiding what they can't understand.
the other kiddos elected him for the student representative council (they have a say in what goes on in the school)
or manage.
Wow! Kudos!
Rose is it tomorrow that you go to your other doctor
Pug, the info about the puzzles.
oh, okay--you are welcome Peach
yvw peach
on thursday, pugs. in 2 days time.
Peach - sprite, lilli, jbp, crossy, uusue and I all have puzzles there - probably others I've forgotten too.
Peach, you can also change the background color too
Very useful where lots of puzzles have white pieces!
so many lovely puzzles. I have bookmarks to last me a year, lol
okay Rose
When you hit pause, there's the option to change background.
Me too, sprite - I've stopped bookmarking unless it's something very special!
I know Sprite, everyday theres nice puzzles put on there
He is a funny little bugga, not a 'cuddly' kiddo but a very emotional kid, when his mum and then a mth later I was rushed to hosp, he was the worst. Then in the past 2 weeks hubby has had 2 cardiac scares and all he wanted to know was 'hows Grandad.'
yeah... I still bookmark all the huge ones that appeal to me. Who knows when I will have to stay put for another couple of weeks... jigidi will save my sanity, lol
just passed half way, off to bed now, goodnight all
He obviously cares - just doesn't like to be physical.
Sleep well Flosey.
he sounds like a special kid, dizgrannie. So glad he is feeling happier now
good night Flosey, take care
night flosey, sleep well!
nite Flos
Sweet dreams, flosey.
sweet dreams flosey
thanks all
Ide like to have some sweet dreams--lol
well... miffed... dalek is not valid
Perhaps tonight, pugs.
Quite right to be miffed. i was too.
*sends puglet a dream about a house full of peace, a happy and relaxed sister, a garden full of veggies, a whole lot of chickens, children playing and lots of music to dance on*
I mean, Liz, enable is weird. We all know that. But to be a cultural barbarian... that is too much.
thanks Sprite
Bet it doesn't accept cyberman either or tardis!
am afraid you are right!
Sprite, how was your germ packing group? Still a bunch of sickies there
no, they were all well. And we got 4 new people too. Nice people.
good! Has the bad apple left for good now
not the lying woman, she is still around and we keep her on her toes. But the unguided projectile from the other group is gone for good, thank God.
Maybe now it will go much easier for all
Wow - that sounds like it could be an episode from Dr Who

you wonder why we eat so much chicken, don't you, pugs? it's because it is a low-fat meat, and can be prepared and cooked in so many different ways.
but I will stay if you want someone to talk to
please do, pugs. after a sleepless night, you may even doze off for a while, which would be a blessing.
thats very true Rose---wonder just how many ways it can be fixed--lol
I feel bad leaving you alone Rose
xoxox pugs. i do so hope you can have a much earned nap. it's okay sweetheart. i have other things to do also. who knows, i may even do another of liz's jigsaws.
Its odd of all the meats that almost anything goes with chicken
okay Rose, take care then and hope your sleep is sweet too. good night and hugs
love you to pieces, hun
same to you
bbl

Bye, pug. Be safe.
Female seater

bye pugs, take care of yourself
Most of these clues have not clicked in my brain yet. Maybe later today.
ah, I was not looking far enough, ty
TY, SummerBreeze!
US 5 - someone who healps seat you in a theater - US 9 - make it a female ending - US 10 pl
the ur 8/9 is not anatomical, but chemical
yw

i collect recipes but dont cook.
thats great, re: the fanny farmer book

my old Fanny Farmer is all splotched up and taped and basically coverless, but we still use it
my new "friend asked me last week if i could cook! well that was a tough one...

that's a little thing called syndication for ya
lol, they used to have them in theaters.

loved that show.
Loved NG, especially Patrick Stewart: Earl Gray HOt
:D
one of my friends recently posted a thing about darmok and jalad at tanagra and we've been having a little fun with that
Mr. Baldy?
must go. good day All...bbl
yes, mr. sexy baldy
bye hego hagd
as i always say... o captain my captain, if ya know what i mean
... dig out the dvds for I Claudius ... Patrick was Sejanus and had a head of hair that would make William Shatner as TJHooker proud.
;-)...wouza wouza
you are all making me feel OLD!
I Claius, now that's a great memorydu
why?
why does it make you feel old, ruby, that is
... one forgets that it was thirty years ago ...
I never aw St**tr** even though the originator came from Binghamton
Everything is 30-50 years ago for me. But I'm glad I'm here to enjoy it
but, that would be the case for many very young people too, so maybe it should make you feel young.
is everybody mourning, Philip Seymour Hoffman? He was one of my favorite actors
we need some kind of public policy program to keep our actors from killing themselves with drugs.
I can't mourn someone who, despite having children, chose to disregard that and waste his life on heroin
... an amazing actor ... saw him in death of a salesman ... .... but if you will mess with heroin you will pay
wow, dose, I only read the reviews of that. Even though it was heroine, I still feel bad. He was such a great actor but none of the tributes or the obit mentioned his family or that he was friends with anybody....
He had two children who he used to walk to school
I guess he was, in the end, a very strange and isolated guy
everybody in the screen actor's guild gets weekly drug tests!
I didn't know that, bichon
is my proposal
... my older daughters friend auditioned for him ... says it was a tremendous experience ... learned a lot
Really hurshy?
i'm suggesting it
as a way to stop the heath ledgers and the philip seymour hoffmans and so forth
civil liberties, pah! you're an ACTOR. you NEED a nanny.
I'm afraid Big Brother is watching all of us anyway
what good is WATCHING if they don't stop people killing themselves!
heroine, shmeroine, phone calls and e-mails are an exposure we don't need
I say walk a mile... drug addiction is a horrible battle that most don't win.
I think people have a right to kill themselves, but not to have their e-mails read or their phone calls monitored
He could have gone to rehab
he DID go to rehab
I think he went to rehab
okay, guess that didn't work
you can't protect people from their own destructive impulses, but we should protect the from gov't spying
what people don't realize is that sometimes, people die right after rehab. that is what happened with the guy from glee. your body gets free of it, then you take the dose you were used to taking, and now your body can no longer handle it, so boom, you're dead.
",s. paranoid ruby"
Yes Hursh, same reason people die after being clean for years and then using again. Addiction is just a sad, sad thing.
I would reccomend that you all watch The Hungry Heart It's a documentary about addiction in a small city in Vermont. It's powerful stuff and it really helps you to understand what it is and how it happens
I didn't know that about dying that way
name that proper noun! french police org
lean
oops
My first experience with death from addiction was an alcoholic in the neighborhood who died after drinking again after 20 years sober. Tragic.
hmm, hurshy-----thinking
bbl
Surete?
ding ding ding!
yay for Molly
probably harder to see without the accent marks...
see you later, kids, cooking and drinking
i know a doctor who treats heroin addicts with methadone. he says they tell him that heroin is better than sex.
But that's comparing apples and oranges
not exactly - the brain imaging shows it does stimulate the pleasure center of the brain - the same pleasure center - to a far greater degree
But you can have sex with another human being. Heroin is a solitary thing
yes but...
it's possible a lot of heroin users have not experienced sex at its best in the psychological intimacy way
anyway the point is, it stimulates the pleasure center really off the charts. so like, they just will do anything to get that again.
I have read the same thing Hursh. The pleasure stimulation from heroin is reportedly much greater than the pleasure stimulation from sex.
I'll take sex any day [night]. At least most people don't have to pay for it
It's hard to understand the addictive personality when you don't have one. There is a reason they call addiction insidious.
That's one of several reason that I don't drink any alcohol at all.
yes. and because it's hard to understand, as a society, we end up treating it SO STUPIDLY. we want to blame and punish instead of treating, and it ends up costing more and having much worse results for addicts and for everyone else too!
sex can be one of the worst non-chemical addictions, actually.

Some woman called the police station this a.m. to complain that her neighbor was shovelling his snow into her driveway. Winter brings out the a-hole in some people.

refreeze? reice?
hello all
cybernan, did you plural the put to work again?
annie i used to live in a condo and they did that to us all the time
Actually, she lives in the historic district, Molly. So, those folks are required by city codes to shovel walks and driveways.
yes - looking for the one that follows that, ch1212
oh heck, and i already have that re 6. never mind.
i cant find the first te4/5 feeing so stupid
it is illegal here to throw snow into a plowed street, but no one pays that any mind.
ahh never find mound it
Yes, but it's not illegal to shovel snow into someone else's driveway, is it? Just an asshat move.
you mean an asphalt move?
in some cities you get a ticket for it i think
Im going down to clean off the car (why, I dont know) and maybe a little shoveling. see you later.
I'm sure police officers are just sitting around waiting to cite people for illegal shoveling.
lol
annie, take it easy with that shoveling.
no we have community police for that. volunteers.
Apparently, this woman and her neighbor share a small strip of land between their two properties. That's where she piles the snow (rightly so). The other guy doesn't want it on this strip of land, so he re-shovels it into her driveway. Asshat indeed.
yes well when you hit a patch of ice tonight beause some idiot threw their snow into the road, you wish they did
ah - found it - be introduced again
I think they need to build a snow wall between them.
there you go!
Maybe they could dig a big ditch between the two and throw all the snow in there!
Maybe they could call someone who actually cares, cause I sure don't.
judi has been watching too much judge judy

Molly, I knew where my car was. I was able to pull it out. Hopefully, they will now plow us all in again. Suppose to start snowing tonight.
Annie's car is lost??
I was just joking Annie. Sometimes when you get plowed in, it seems as if your car is lost.
hego, I'm in a parking lot behind my apartment house but they plow us in whenever they is a heavy snowfall
*there
us too.
Molly, I was wondering about your memory. Joshing you.
I wonder what is the point of plowing the roads when we can't get out of the driveways.
They plow a path but the people who have cars dont care about that. We will get to our cars, thank you!
I often wonder about the logic of plow drivers.
I am in a development and we are payibg the plowers.
paying
Me too.
Kind od a pain
of, can't type anymore.lol
Unfortunately, what you pay the development and what the plow guys get paid is a way different number. Hence the sloppy plowing.
It's okay, I understood
*they pay
I don't even understand what I'm typing anymore. It's been a hellofa busy day.

Right up there with hirple from yesterday.

But his glory! consistin 'in his tr6/33 an' lovin'kindness -- (man! that's a bonny word) -- an 'grand self-forgettin' devotion to his creaters -- lord! man, it's unspeakable. ~David Elginbrod

If the oceans were to gradually rise, Florida (350 feet above sea level at its highest point) would become the first U.S. state to be completely submerged.
if you can't secede one way, try try again

was Florida part of the south in their war
was Florida part of the south in their civil war

ah, thank you joso!
cr5-22 is fun, no vowels
the 2nd cr5-22 that is
good evening, all
wtf? a word cannot exist without a vowel or a y
welsh borrowings lack vowels, as W is a vowel in welsh, as in cam/cmws, for example.
cwm/cwms rather
i feel like that is not English, though
but, nothing's new, i've always had issues with the dictionary this game uses :P
may I have a clue for the AS 6/21 pls
English borrowed or kept a number of pre-anglo-saxon words.
hi again, back to finish up
Hi, Flosey
hopefully - then get something done around here
hi flosey
Well there is nothing English about cw 5 and 6
there are cw words today?
no, crw...
apparently... this game is using archaic pre-anglo-saxon words...
It's a musical instrument that originated in Wales. So, it's as English as 'piano'. :)
Hi flosey, I just read that you lived in North York for a time. So did I!
have seen a couple welsh words
according to wikipedia, it's also called a crowd
which is also a ghost word in this grid, haha
yes that would be until 1961
except that it's not
weird lookin' instrument
hi :)
then married and moved to bc for 5 years, back to Ont. for 30 before retiring to west coast
Oh, I got there in the late 70s
kinda like a laying down guitar/violin
indeed, which is a very rough approximation of the original word, just as floyd is a very rough approximation of Lloyd as pronounced in Welsh. :)
ah, we lived on Kingsdale Ave, where were you?
I disagree with "as English as piano" but everyone has their own take on the words that live here.
halfway!
oh, i see a photo of it being played... it's played just like a violin
My point being as the piano is borrowed also.
I was up at Jane and Finch near York University
ugh Molly you remind me of the idiots who've been bashing the Coca-Cola commercial from the super bowl
yes, like a nyckleharpa, it's sort of similar.
ah. one son went to York hubby taught at Bathurst and Finch
I'll take my idiot self back to lurkville now
Northview?
yes
Cool!
Rows, that was really uncalled for.
Molly, sorry, what was the problem you had with the commercial? i don't mean to be so harsh... i just heard some comments through friends, so maybe their filters weren't quite kind
What commercial? I have no idea what you're talking about.
did you attend there godthaab?
must off to meeting, maybe back later.
hi and bye seain
There was a coke commercial that sang "America the Beautiful" in many different languages.
i was never calling anyone here an idiot... my wording must've been off and misinterpreted
I recommend backing away slowly, Molly
and apparently many people feel that song should only be sung in English.
you reminded me of that... not *you* reminding me of idiots... what you were saying reminded me of those things i'd heard
that does happen here occasionally, unfortunately
not in a way like, you're an idiot like them... never EVER meant it like that at ALL
does that make sense?
just what you were saying about us each having our own interpretation of everyone having their own take on English
I'd say you have probably calmed the lynch mob, Rows
I for one am glad to undertand what you really meant to say.
iechyd da,or english phonetics yaki da everyone :)
ugh i am sorry, i feel really like i can't communicate properly right now

I am watching Jeopardy and missed it... haha
I am not at all impressed with Crackle
you can see old episodes with those champions on this week on crackle....
why not molly?
There are other streaming sites that give you a lot more to watch.
other free ones?
or torrents, wich give you everything
I thought Torrentz was a downloading site. And no Pen, I don't know much about the free streaming sites. Other than the fact that I looked at Crackle once and didn't think it had much to offer.
i was just curious....torrents is not very user friendly as a site...to me anyway...
torrents are downloads, with a variety of sites

Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing

By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
hi min!
yiddish is written in the hebrew alphabet, so lots of variations in transliteration
Just got here. My goal is to only find half. Is it doable in an hour? I am very tired! Okay, I am diving into the grid now.

That was a black panther cub, joso...might bring that one back soon.
I liked it because it looked like it was waving.
oooh, black panthers are cool, curious panther kits
Did you know I've raised tigers, lions (no bears), and a black panther? Also various primates including gorillas.
how fascinating. where did you do that?
news to me, very interesting, are you a zoo vet, or a scantily clad 1930's jungle girl.
I worked at Yerkes Primate Center in Atlanta where they raised apes (and chose the chimps for space travel) as well as zoos and a wildlife park...just one of my MANY vocations. LOVE animals.
No, joso---scantily clad around those animals would be dangerous!
Just found 195 words listless. Going to the list to get a few
