Really a cool idea. Our daughter and s-i-l took her (and themselves) to obedience school shortly after they got her. I think that helped them all.

we had 5 boys 4 girls.. today 4 girls moved to another unit for their own unit.. separate boys and girls unit now.. i only have 5 boys :)

i think that is great news, cos. separation of the sexes is so important. especially as the kids become older.
now all 5boys have their own rooms and all can shower at the same time. and bed time is now 830 and not 930 so i have 3.5 hours of free time to watch tv

they decided to combine both high school girls unit into 1.. make them all have roommates. and let theelementary girls have their own unit.
I am especially thrilled because the special needs girl we had is now not our problem. she is a sweet girl but so demnading and her mom comes and visits every single day and her best friend is my boss's wife.
That sounds like a sensible decision - as long as the girls are happy having roommates.
oh no they did not like it. threw huge hissy fits but my boss said tough sh*t
good decisions, all of them. moving with the times, so to speak. and it makes it so easy to manage the kids and meets their individual needs.

and i know from experience, that to spring it on them is the only way. don't forget my ex was very violent, and the only way i could protect myself and the kids was to keep it all quiet, until the police handed him the intervention order, and told him the facts of life. ie, if you break this court order, you go to jail.
