WORZEL!!!!
hello!! x
*smooch, hugs, tousles worzels hair* where ya bin??
i've been recuperating. Had another lovely hospital stay. Diverticulitis this time! I'm getting quite used to having blood tests now lol - used to be such a baby with needles now I feel like a seasoned junkie! How are you? xx
and hugs back xx
sigh.. we are under a blizzard and wind chill warning..
awww, not good. all better now? did they have to operate?
*warms hugs and wishes* ivesy...
:) how are yu feeling granny.. beside with yur hands that is
No operation but I had a CT scan - which was an interesting experience. And I have to go back next week for a colonoscopy - which I'm not looking forward to. And yet again the antibiotics knocked my bowels for six! But I'm feeling a whole heap better now
lol, ivesy....turned the corner last wednesday. no crutches, walking stick, drop pain meds down, increasing activity, particularly in the pool. physio says a couple more weeks, then into the gym.
glad you fellbetter, worzel. and yu4 on the colonoscopy. had one once...don't want to repeat the experience...
This isn't a brilliant grid is it? I'm guessing about 57 words
awesome! nice to hear good news.. and worzel hope things go well for you ..
57 measlely words.. on my day off no less
good guess worzel....lol
For my colonoscopy they have sent me two massive sachets of powder to clear me out. Have heard it is quite an atomic concoction so that should be fun. Is it really 57 words? Oh my, that's the first time I've ever been spot on! And thanks for your kind words and thoughts Mum and Ivesy - I hope u2 are ok xx
ummm, worzel, the loo is about to become your best friend...talk about through the eye of a needle at 40 paces...
i have heard that stuff they give is quite powerful.. stay near bathroom and have plently of tp on hand
just forget wearing anything below the waist....lol
Yes - my future sis in law had same procedure and said that she was empty for a week and was pretty much unable to leave the vicinity of the bathroom for two days. Oh the joys of being ill lol
none
lollol..
ooops sorry!
bbs
see u later ivesy xx
later ivesy
ch5/14 is one of my favourite words
haha there's a good one for Dr God - create a grid with diverticulitis in it lmao!!!!!
lol....worzel. ye4. i know
Mind you, I've been keeping my mind off things by winning stamps on ebay at ridiculously low prices - got a stamp worth £75 the other day for £3.50!
well done, you. it's so lovely to come out on top occasionally isn't it?
hello?
is my Rosie still here?
apologies, worzel, i can't remember...did you catch up with all that happened to me last november, december?
It is Mum. Sorry if you've seen that I'm online ever and I haven't been talking - sometimes I just felt so rough I didn't feel like it, but I'm back with a vengeance lol x
{{hugs}} my darling ruby
Morning Ruby hun xx
hello worzel
*gently holds worzel* there there dear, mother is here. (and i so wish that was true)
i need to sub-divide me. i need to be in england, scotland, holland, france, and indian...all at the same time...*sigh*
Aww bless you Mum and thank you (((hugs))) I'm gearing my energy towards a day of gardening - we finally have some lovely weather - sunshine and 55 degrees today if the weather person is to be believed
ugh...*indiana*
Mum you have enough of your own worries to be scattering yourself all round lol - you make sure YOU'RE ok first hun xx
ye4, ye4....but watch out when i am...i'm a-coming for you....
and I am looking forward to it!!!
you really need to email me, let me now exactly where you are, dear. so i can incorporate it into the world trip.
Oh you'd laugh - talking of gardening - the previous occupant decided to remove ALL stones from the soil many years ago and now we have such poor drainage the soil is like dark sand - it's a nightmare to tend but me and Diane are determined to do it. You might know Diane - she don't talk often but she's froggie or frogface on here
i shall email you mum - i'll probably do it later this morning if that's ok with you? xx
no, i don't know her, not as frogface or froggie anyway.
yes, dear. my bed is yelling at me....have been up since before 6am, and it's now going onto 8:45pm. i am tired.
You must be knackered! It's 9.30am here so I guess I best get myself out of bed and ready for the garden. Mum how do I find your email? xx
what i am saying is, please be patient....it may take a little whiles for me to respond.
worzel, it is in my profile.
OK mum I just seen it hun I will email you in a bit. Don't worry about replying too soon - whenever you can will do xx
xoxox worzel. i am so excited. can't wait to hear from you, dear
and please tell frogface to speak up, and talk to me, dear.
poopy small grid
echine
ye4, ruby, you got it in one. i blew raspberries when i saw it...lol
I shall tell her that Mum lol - she doesn't usually come on until later though. She's on sometimes at night which I believe will be too late for you (about 12 hours from now, whatever time that is in Aus world lol - about 9pm here in UK) xx
sorry, not in grid but is as French "meat word"
okay, i will log on tomorrow . will she be here tomorrow? my time, of course...aagghhh. this is so confusing. my yesterday, your tomorrow...
worzel and I are 1 hr apart; at least it's the same day lol
*chuckling* ruby...
good morning all
just found au5, an interesting dog classification word
{{{sprite}}}
{{spritey}} xoxox
are you getting cold sunshine like us?
hey ruby *hugs*
hi rose :) *hug*
worzel" sprite and I are in the SASME time zone, nyah nyah
I shall try and get her on, but she sleeps in late in the morning (due to medication she takes, she sleeps a lot) but I will try and get her on one evening (evening here, that is, which will be about 12 hours time and then 24 hours later etc) See - I get confused with times too teehee. Anyway I'm off to make good our garden. I hope you all have a lovely day/night and I shall see you all tomorrow/yesterday/this morning/tonight lmao!!! xx
looks like cold sunshine to me. Just woke up so am still a little groggy.
I am freezing, but have to walk the "little" pup (anly 30kg while B. walks the "big" one, {36 kg)
Sorry Ruby didn't see ur message. We've actually got quite warm sunshine - well, warm compared to the last few months. It's going to be about 12 degrees today (around 55 in new money)
It is painful and difficult, but very good for Raffie
Morning Sprite xx Anyway people I really MUST go! Take care everybody and have fun with this nasty little grid!!! xxxxx *poof*
xoxox worzel. hope you have a great day, dear. lovely to see you again
bye worzel
is it just us three?
bye worzel
looks like it
yes, sprite...i'm not sure where pugs is today.
sorry...*ruby*
now what mischief can we get up to????
{{pugs}} wherever you are!
I hope she is ok
who has energy for mischief? I certainly don't
trying to find enough energy to eat my banana, lol
*tickle, tickle* ruby. that was just a feather...you want that i should use the whole chook?
roflol rose
I want chooks for my garden, can just imagine Raffie chasing them around
ye4, i know. i had the whole pool in stitches this morning, including the physio.
back to being yourself, aren't you, rose :) It is a delight to see it.
I think she ate a lizard the other day, so I was picking up little pieces of (recognizable) mystery meat off the carpet
phantom: waggishness
*gurgle, glub, glub* ohhh ??? i'm not in the pool...it's my fruit salad and ice-cream...oh, dear...i appeared to have made a mess.
hey o-o, glad to see you. Is today a little bit kinder to you?
*woof* for now
hey ya o-o. are you better today, mate?
and *woof* to you too, ruby...lolol
found it: playful, reckless behavior that is not intended to cause serious harm
bye ruby, have a good one
while I was thinking more of the wagging tail of a dog, lol
you could describe Rufie was waggish; when I come into the room his whole body wags!
lots of Fr words in here
Remember to bring a ladder to participate in any high jinks
and my late, great boy Rufus! RIP
or the property of missing classes in school could be waggishness
just read a book named Jinx High :)
hey, where the heck did my last post go???
the one about missing classes?
How am I? Hmmm. Ask me no questions and I will tell you no lies.
nm, it probably wasn't that funny
no, the one about the pool this morning.
okay, o-o. you have 3 words....go !!
*hugs o-o* I'll either have the invarnished truth, or you can ignore the question. Am all ears if you want to vent, and all warm virtual acceptence if you don't/
when in doubt
oh that I read too, rose. About making a mess in the pool?
naughty sprite..no !!!
unvarnished*
yes
*giggles* forgot you were pottytrained, rose
am glad either way to see you in chat, o-o
my physio wanted me to do half-squats, my back against the wall. i asked her for a snorkel so i could do them in deep water.
hehehe rose :) So good to see you back to your witty self
physio didn't know what to say...and all the other patients would have been roflol, except they were neck-deep in water.
they were more floatlol
roflol, YES !!!
I am having a helluva time getting the reader for pug, btw, rose. Will try and phone the shop in the us later today and see if we can work something out. They make it so hard!
okay, i have gone into over-over-tired. i did nap this arvo...but i am starting to feel very drowsy...o-o, please stop swinging that watch...
Go. To. Bed. :)
*frowns* sprite...are you using amazon?
no, amazon has amazon readers and I want pug to have one that can read epubs so we can keep her into books for ages. Using Tigerdirect. The Newogg that crossy adviced doesn't do international orders at all.
that is so annoying.
very. I hope the phone call will clear things up. For crying out loud, the shop is in the US, the person it has to go to is in the US, only the payment will come from the netherlands. How hard can it be?
they offer both creditcard and paypal options, I can use either... but not from europe.
i don't understand. and the site accepted your card details, right?
no, it rejects the payment, that is the problem
grrrr...well i hope the phone call solves it for you. i wonder why it doesn't accept payment form europe.
*from*
am so fed up with it, lol. But won't give up until I have worked something out.
email me, hun. will stay on-line and wait.
ok fireflies for me, must pretend to be productive, lol. *hugs* to you both, rose and o-o. A blessed day and a peaceful night to you both as well.
ok, will email now
WTG SPRITE!!!!
email sent, rose
thanx hun. night to everyone else. enjoy the grid.

ives, are you near buffalo?
well, tht at was, as usual, post-lunh, incomprehansible
I do my corned beef in the crock pot for 8 to 10 hours, until it is falling apart tender. Then I dice it into big chunks and saute with onion and diced potatoes. After that has simmered a good long while, I add shredded cabbage and corn.
am about 50 miles south annie..they are getting hit too..
spring is springing. Thedaffs are opening today
Molly, that sounds divine.
I chunk the cabbage. shredding is too much trouble1 ll
Hello friends
hi Trif :)
hello, trif, how are you feeling?
stealth texting in chorus class again. What a badass.
Oops, there are diced carrots in that as well. Both carrots and potatoes are boiled before they hit the frying pan. Here is a picture: http://tinyurl.com/npz77uu

Foul weather here in Beantown
don't have a tablet'typing is a tricky biz, after lunch, it's worse

{{crossy}
Heard a good joke yesterday: how can you tell an engineer from a carpenter? Ask them to pronounce "unionized"
Got a nw bill from the fisc esterday goingcraxy....

guess my post disappeared.. crossy, if you are still here, google Oscar Meyer Bacon App. You can wake up to the sound of sizzling bacon, AND..IF you are one of the lucky ones, you can get a free device that will give off the bacon aroma on your alarm..
wonky internet again this morning, sigh.. hi everyone
Hi aloy
hi puglet
howdy, alloy. I will have to look that up. ty:)
ok, the article I read said "The company is giving away 4,700 devices beginning Thursday".. the devices refers to the aroma generating ones..
very cool:)
trying to load the site now. it is very choppy and slow to load:( must be getting too many hits:))
fireworks now back to work
congrats, steve! Hagd
Can someone please clue the e6 word. I really need to leave for work!!!

rufus .. why does that name ring a bell?
sorry, aloy, video will not play cannot click on the link at all to get the device ,cannot get the video to play, all I can do is watch the woman's hair wave back and forth in some unseen wind :(
used to be a common name for dogs

oops
ooh, ty again grant
Thanks everybody. FW at last. Off to work
you can extend that
yay for candy! hagd
ureca said the scientist, lol, just playing around
yaa for candy!
he sat on the chayer
lol, aloy is in fine form today:)
called desperate monkeying, trying not to list.. like the irus is part of the eye
I cannot believe that. Some recent poll in the U.S. of A. determined that the average adult reads but 4!! books per year... heck, I read that many while roaming the used book store aisles trying to figure out how many books the Mrs. will let me buy..
for a bibliophile like yourself, that statistic would seem incredible
lots of people don't read a newspaper anymore either.. just check the internet or TV or whatever
but 4? I read more words than that scanning the sides of cereal boxes at the breakfast table;)
lol, I used to love cereal boxes
so far on march break I have read 11/22/63, The Chrysalids, King Rat by James clavell and a small max Haines book with short unsolved crime stories:)
will have to read Chrysalids again, but it can wait till English class is back in
fun, books take you on a mini-vacation
they do indeed
well, I don't feel bad for missing fu4.9 - will look that one up later but I do recall we have had it before
btw I was highly disappointed with that book. it could of been so much more. was almost like John Wyndham said to himself one day " hell with it, I do not want to do this book anymore", and just stapled the ending on the last finished page that sat on the pile on his desk
have read books like that, know what you mean and you feel cheated somehow
it ended suddenly. boom.done
if the author is still alive, he should know that.. maybe he has a website?
at the end of a lot of books, the author says "would love to hear from you", etc. and lists a website
I have one called Firespill by Ian Slater. it is a rip roaring post- nuclear survival story with all kinds of cliff hanger moments, main character you root for and care about.. until the last 30 pages then everyone dies, all fails and the last attempt for whatever salvation they are shooting for turns to dust and everyone dies. even the darn dog. lol. Book is out of print now I believe
nope, John W died in 1969
aack, don't think I would want to read such a tragedy .. well, you will not be communicating with John W.. maybe that was his last book and he felt compelled to wrap it up quickly?
but after reading that, I wanted to phone up the author and give him hell. lol
could be.
in that case, he could be forgiven
well, it is the writers prerogative, to put books out in any form they choose and they can pass over any errors or omission in silence.
People don't read as much as they used to. Not enough instant gratification for them. Sad.
hi Molly
Good morning, all!
howdy, judi
hi Judi
*squints at tiny grid* WTH?!
ur4.6 a newbie for me
it is a wee one, judi
.. spring yesterday, minus 30 wind chill today
ugh, the roller coaster time
could have said "yu4.9"
and yu4.8 was my last word, thought it had two consonants in the middle.. oh well, must scoot to get some stuff done.. ty for the chat and Happy Babbling!
tc aloy
Oh man, there has been an explosion in Manhattan and those poor people in New York are dealing with trauma all over again.
Just saw that headline on MSN, Molly. Harlem. Sounds like a gas explosion.
*Thinking of Annie*
seems two buildings are involved. info is sketchy atm
Yes. Not enough info yet.
it does not take much. We have a auto body shop here in town, and A few years ago a 100 pound propane cylinder mounted on a outside wall of their shop exploded. It took out the entire shop and heavily damaged the building next door
*shudders* I'll take electric over gas or oil any day.
Me too Judi, gas scares the crap out of me.
even so, I still miss my old gas range
always works, even with the power out
..loves his gas range
I suppose body shops need some gases for welding and such. I just wouldn't trust it coming into my home.
great emergency heater
Have had gas heat always and must have a gas range.
And it's getting really inexpensive.
if I had the choice, I would go back to gas
Although I don't like fracking.
shut up Ruru.
agreed hego
Hi All
about the fracking
I got it
Off I go to run the boring errands. *POOF*
Wow Ru, now you get told to shut up before you've even said anything. : D
saves time.
poor ru :(
He knows i love him. :)
♥ He's the darling of Babble chat ♥
Girls always love bad boys.
and that means Crossy too.
:) what? me? Crossy is a good boy.:)
uh huh
bbl
yesterday I was super happy I was able to get all the words using just the list for the first time ever - no clues or resources. today... that does not seem likely to happen.
no, this thing is all babblets it seems
first confirmed death. how sad
yaa my first real word other than eu6!! on5 = crying veggie
Change the first letter, crossy
ty jaxx,
hav found 24, but the rest seems to be just blindly pounding letters into the grid till you fall over a un-word. Not my type of grid:(
On early today. have just got back from pre op appointment for husband. He fractured his left knee ligament last year. Will have it repaired in early April.
culling the chog history now for scraps of clues, then I will list I think
:( knee injuries are nasty
I went to the Opthamologist this morning and discovered I was two days early
I am in awe of city firefighters. They are some tough, brave men and women.
all first responders rock!
it is all to do with what we were chatting about last night. He was a trawlerman and fell across a piece of equipment when a wave hit the boat full on. It broke both his kneecaps and the DISH has made it worse
I have done that, bichon :)
Better than late, Bichon
They gave me an appointment for 2 PM today
hello all - just got back inside - out of the pouring rain
That'll be coming here in a few hours
and then sometime later today it is supposed to turn to snow
ditto for here and be really cold tomorrow
most eworried about the low temperatures tonight (teens) and with all the rain from today turning to ice
Yep, slippery one tomorrow
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
In France, the Ashton Kutcher/Natalie Portman movie No Strings Attached was called Sex Friends.
France sounds like so much more fun
it seems so...
hello all
hi TO
hi, bich
crossy, a question for you
?
The square in which you add words in Babble expert. How do you change it from one big white square to one with a yellow border and is movable?
I just click on lickety add and the box appears
i can size it then and move it where i wish
not that i use lickety much
make ur screen not full window, then u should be able to see "hide thin" and uncheck it
How do you make screen not full window
crossy, I just shared something on facebook that I know you will like.
hi all
i use it so seldom, however, that i am not the one to ask. I just leave it's border the default orange
what is that peri?
the icon between the - and X on top right
the - and x? where
i have weaned myself off facebook for the last 3 months now:)
and a big happy birthday to the World Wide Web!!!! it is 25 years old today!
it is a picture of a barn and the sign on it say something about bacon
and I do not like this grid
Strange that Google art did not pay tribute to the 25th anniversary of the web
when i did this new computer build, i decided , for my sanity, not to pollute a fresh system with big brother facebook:)
well, radio says it is 25 today:)
Technically not true. Internet has been around since the 50s.
Only it was called ArpaNet
well, yes we can split hairs on it
I will remove it then crossy if you are not going to see it
sorry, peri, i appreciate the thought, but FB is verboten on this system and it is the better for it
no problem
cosem, what icon on the far right?
Man who created the WWW was on TV news at lunchtime. He is worried about the lack of security and privacy on the web. Perhaps that is why Google did not acknowledge the Anniversry. Haven't they been criticised for Google Earth?
*cosdem
on the top of lickety.. the border on top
Al Gore was on tv? :P
I don't see anything like that cosdem
Facebook is a bigger privacy invasion that Google Earth will ever be.
No, it was a Brit who has been knighted for it. He never made any money for it, just gave it away for us all to use.
1989 March 12 Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist working at Cern in Switzerland, submits a proposal for a “distributed information system†to allow researchers to deal with huge amounts of information generated by complex physics experiments. This is the genesis of the world wide web –
It's an old joke about Al Gore inventing the internet.
very top of lickety
That's the one!
Shows how much I was listening
it's the 25th anniversary of the world wide web, which is not the same thing as the internet
there ya go:) ty teach
thought i was losing my mind
though , some days, if I said the word " white" I would get 30 explanations why it is not.:)
I can't comment on whether you've lost your mind or not...
my beloved can;)
and she does..often
This is a great quote from Snopes about the "invention" of the internet: Any statement about the "creation" or "beginning" of the internet is difficult to evaluate because the internet is not a homogenous entity (it's a collection of computers, networks, standards, protocols and applications programs) nor did it spring into being all at once.
it is borg
:)
we will be assimilated
resistance is futile.;)
I was going to say, the internet is the hardware... computer, connections, etc, while the world wide web is one of the services we use to connect to the internet
I find it interesting that so many people still think you need to type "www" in front of a web address.
lol heck, i still start with C:/ half the time before i have had my first coffee
think i am pounding away on a C64:)
even after all these years, in my mind I can still hear the sound of a 4 1/2 floppy drive coming up to speed:)
all of this was preceded by ARPANE which connected universities and government agencies and began in the late 60 - it created the domain names (.gov,.org) in the early 80s

"Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction." ― Antoine de Saint-Exupery

yes...lots of people don't know that when they slam un5's
Overtime pay. Minimum wages.
and all that too cos...if only more voters were made aware of facts like that the results would bee very different...
Interesting to see what will happen to the those responsible for those benefits as the Volkswagon plant voted one down recently.
Sorry I don't remember what state it was voted on.
In the south.
I heard they may be revoting.
really. I sure hope so.............
Tennessee. Just checked. The whole threats by the government was awful and should be reason enough to invalidate the vote.
its like throwing cuts at all those awful gov'e workers...those cuts only effect the regular staff not the higher paid ones with golden benefits...that's what we need to impose cuts on...
what did the gov. do?
state govt ...... state legislators made some veiled threats if people voted pro union
oh geez
didn't read the whole thing.
found it. http://tinyurl.com/l7ooptq
my god what is happening to our politicians...sounds like a third world country full of corruption
all the accusations are in there.
I would hate to be working for 2.33 an hour as a waitress does.
The UAW claims a new vote is needed because Tennessee state legislators and U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., interfered in Feb. 12 to Feb. 14 balloting by threatening to withhold state incentives if the plant was unionized
frankly, I would fire all of congress
well if they get rid of the un5's that might happen...
snags you have the answer...can't think of many worth a damn
I know we aren't suppose to talk politics on here. sorry
scary times we live in
screw that lol its a free country . we paid for this game. we'll do what we want :P
yes it is.
lol cos
we need to limit the US Supreme Court judges too.
oops...I love our country and it hurts me so to see so much political wrong doing...my dad said the liberals would drive this country into the ground...he was very wise
My 86 year old mother wants to get elected and straighten the whole dang mess out...she could too!
lol
I think a woman Pres and VIce pres would do wonders.
Shhh...they are sleeping don't wake the judges
lol.............. the do roar at times and not in a good way.
Snags...my mom wants the top so you can be vice...
ok, I can have some parties and vacations lol
I truly think we could use some women at the top.
she loves parties but only after all the work is done
well heck, don't we have an unlimited fund for all those things?
I'd kinda go for a transgender VP myself
not under her watch.....
ruru...mom isn't prejudiced unless you are lazy or criminal she treats everyone the same....that's how I was raised...true equality
I become so angry when I read about inside trading that is just ok for Congress............. but you and I.......... as with Martha Stewart
Heck, I am just totally angry and disgusted with them all............
they should have to live by the same salaries and benefits as every other gov't employee
ditto that............
Mom for President...hip hip hurray!
she has my vote!!
RuPaul for President! Can I get an Amen here?
I love his laugh...

I like things that make me smile...he is very creative
I am hopelessly addicted to his show. So happy the new season has begun
well at least the president would dress up
lol and prance around as if the president were on a catwalk
Yes he is making the rounds on all the talk shows
The White House Untucked!!!!
