more red boxes here... I am going to bid you all adieu until the morrow. Hubby came home from daughter's with a nasty cold, so need to check on him :(
Agree, ru.
I was scared to death of them when I was little, ru
oh.. don't catch it dee
aw revor dee
watch him close, dee, just had to take mine to the ER for breathing problems
:D
it was bad... but he's a lot better now
ahhh, shemp was replaced by curly.
there are some nasty bugs going around
three days of nebulizing and antibiotics
ty, rb, I am going to. I think I gave it to him... mine is still not 100% gone...
and here they are again! red boxes
oh.. really? I thought it was the other way around
maybe they're telling me it's time to go to bed
glad yours is better
I haven't had a cold in over ten years
I even had a flu shot, so was a teeny shocked I got this. Great, ru! My immune system is pretty sucky now.
"bronchial spasms" they said, his lungs were shutting down, started witha mix of hayfever/pneumonia symptoms
wash your hands dee. as soon as you come in from out in the world.. and wash them well
and that's the secret
it was scary.
sounds familiar, rb... got prednisone on Friday "just in case"...
wow rbud, that would be frightening
pneumonia is really scary rbud
totally agree with you there, ru, I wash mine alot, even out IN the world
I am a germaphobe when it comes to hands, ru... wash them a lot
I almost died from Pneumonia in my twenties
exactly what don and i had a few months ago. we were sick as dogs...
wow, ru
think of all the puns you would have missed
I hate doorknobs in public bathrooms, one of my least favorite things to touch, yuck - use the paper towel! :D
better yet.. don't think about that :D
surprised you don't have more breathing probs now, ru, since you had such a bad case
I do.. that's why I go into panic mode around sick people
I'm generally a pretty healthy person .. no flus no colds I never really go to the doctor
mrs ru makes up for all my non visits
it is that way in our house, too :(
she is constantly at the doctor. I think she's somewhat of a hypochondriac
I do better if I just am a hermit, I can stay well - but the little snotty kids (literally) at the library are what got me this time, I think.
library, grocery, and church...
what can I say, I run the place, lol, pretty much have to go there... :P
lol rb.. well you don't have a choice then
red boxes... ttfn

greetings friends
back again, hi there pugs
Hi flosey, you feeling better now
cold is getting better, thanks Pugs
Iam glad for you then :)
ty
how are you doing, pugs?
Iam okay, thanks
good to hear
did you get the rain you were concerned about?
we did --then the week end was dry, but on the cool side. Then rain off and on all week long
do you have any spring flowers up yet?
just starting to poke up through the ground and my lilacs are getting buds now too
are you seeing signs of spring yet
lovely, I love lilacs, had a hedge of them backin Ontario
good morning my friends :)
morning Friend--hugs :)
yes, we have lots of spring flowers up now crocus, daffs, wild violets
*hugs pugs* How are you today, darling? Any progress?
good morning Sprite
*hugs flosey*
ty and hugs to you and to pugs
yes and no--Im okay though
and how about you? Hubby get home yet
hugs back flosey :)
I don't expect my husband until tonight. He is having a grand time there with Terra :)
missed you yesterday, pugs. How have you been?
your lilacs sound so beautiful, flosey
Carol came yesterday to visit and Iam doing okay---have you got all your gaming in-lol
that was in Ontario Sprite, they were lovely
lol I could game for weeks and not get done, pugs. Too much fun to be had.
do you still have a garden, flosey?
yay for Carol! Glad you could spend some time with your friend.
I have a small garden in front of the house - that's where the crocus, daffs are blooming just now
I bet thats pretty, flosey
hubby tends to most of the gardening - hehas lots of bulb types surrounding a large maple tree at the bend in the driveway
I got on here late and havent seen Rose yet
even wild violets
sounds so pretty, flosey. Isn't it lovely to be able to see spring progressing?
ah yes, although we really can't complain about Winter (as we knew it back east) we had one snowfall this Winter - with high winds, did a fair bit of damage, trees down over hydro wires, etc
the farmers close to us has their winter wheat starting to green up so its nice to see green fields
wow, sounds like it all or nothing where you live now, flosey.
Ikr! Here the trees are blossoming now, it makes so much difference.
ah that is so nice to see a whole green field now
so far I havent seen any leafing out yet but it shouldnt be too much longer
it had been a very mild winter until that hit us - out of power for several hours but even that isn't really a hardship here
we have a generator but have never really HAD to use it - just turn it on now and then to make sure it's ok
wow, imagine, your own generator! Things are so different here, lol. So much more small in scale.
we can cook on wood burning stove in family room downstairs
those are nice to have on hand. You just never know when you might need one
my bridge partner lives at one end of the Island and they were out of power for a few days - they have a farm, horses, chickens, etc so are also well prepared for such outages
they would prbably have to be with all that to care for
yes indeed.
they have a lovely spot, on the water
so close to eggnog
not the right season Sprite-lol
yes, almost Sprite
maybe closer to x-mas they might give you the letters for it-lol
lol pugs
all I want for Xmas is my extra G, my extra G, oh my extra G...
that wasn't supposed to be a stopper
just back from kitchen, felt the need of a little sustenance
:) Enjoy it, flosey
I got here late and Iam in the grid as I asume you guys are and dont want to bug yas
you never bug me, pug
never, pugs
I should be sleeping!
insomnia strikes again, flosey?
is it sunday there flosey
it might be your meds keeping you awake flosey
yup Sprite! yes Pugs, it is very early Sunday morning - 1:23 a.m.
that is not morning, that is night in my book, lol
no, if anything, you'd think they'd help me sleep - with this bug, I've been sleeping off and on during the day as well
its almost 4:30 am here
yes sprite - at any rate, SLEEP time
ah, so you are Eastern Time, same as Ontario
am sorry you cannot sleep, flosey, but am happy to see you :)
ty Sprite
same for you, pugs, should be sleeping time for you as well still
brb
okay Iam back
wb pugs :)
:) thanks
and I bet you are almost done too, are you not?
yeah, getting close
so what are you going to do on your last day of me time
not much, I hope, lolol. Bit of reading, bit of gaming, bit of household chores. And, of course, the endless tasks of being a mother to two teenagers. And you?
not much either
*hugs pugs*
hugs back Sprite
thank you, my darling. Wish I could make you feel better.
I will one day I guess-lol
yes, you will
hi all
SIR JOSO!!!
joso! *hugs* Wayyyy too long since I have seen you. How have you been?
Milady pug
hi Joso
long time no see...things going better
gosh sure do miss you Joso on here
huggs sprite, snuggles flosey, good to see you all
I must get back to bed and, hopefully, sleep this time
I'm feeling alot better than I have for a long time sprite
and you, joso. Was just thinking of you yesterday. Didn't write much in the last few weeks, sorry. Will get back to it though.
rest well flosey
am so glad to hear that, joso. Have been worried about you.
hope you can sleep too Flosey--good night and hugs
thanks all, bb tomorrow
I hope you can sleep now, flosey. *hugs* and may there be a kind angel guiding you to pretty dreams.
I too am glad you are feeling better Joso
well you must be psychic sprite, recovering from what is today minor heart surgery, but it did have me somewhat worried going in, less than 1% chance of death is 1% more than I want
oh dear! That is at least 5% more than I wish for you. How are you feeling now? Recuperating well?
io feel great, better than I have for over a year, nice not to have chest pains whenever i exert myself.
io + I
am so glad! *hugs*
good to hear you are still writing,
so glad for you too Joso
I got lazy, joso, and didn't write for weeks on end. But now that the therapy is finally over, things are getting back into shape.
saw a movie that featured a pug I think you would love pug, a cartoon called the nut job
that sounds right up my alley--lol
since you are a new man now does that mean we get to see you more often on here
well I hope the therapy was worth the trouble Sprite, and glad to here you are writing again
oh it was, joso. Learned a lot and am using it, and things are going pretty well.
good morning
no, still keeping more of a day schedule, but up late tonight so had to look in on old buds
hey ruby
{{sprite}}
hi ruby :)
Morning Ruby, hugs
hello joso!
{{little pugs}}
has France been treating you well ruby?
fireflies for me.
Pugs: did you ever think about ho few people in the world have red hair and how that makes you truly special? Everybody in Asia and Africa. All Indians (Amer and Asian) Most Hispanics.
congrats Sprite!
congrats sprite
I was thinking about that yesterday, that probably 80 percent of the word's people have black hair
pugs would have been special, even if she had been darkhaired, lol.
and bron eyes
yay, sprite
no I didnt Ruby and I dont feel special but marked--lol
or even brown*
ahh thanks Sprite
yes, pugs is a little gem irregardless of appearance
*hugs* to you all. I wish you a blessed day and a peaceful night.
what color are your eyes,pug?
same to you Sprite and have a fun day too--hugs and bye
I got blue Ruby
g'night sprite, rest well
thats nice of you to say Joso, ty
again, that sets you apart! Most of those black-haired people have brown eyes
what color are your eyes Ruby
blue is cool, I've got brown hair and hazel eyes (brown but in just the right light you can see a bit of green, but mostly brown)
green and hazel are the rarest eye colors I think
I'm just ordinary brown/brown But my son has pale blue eyes, so I was a hybrid
see there Joso you are a rare gem too--lol
my father was a curly blue-eyed blonde
I like brown eyes Ruby
I think the pink bunny eyes of an albino are probably the rarest
what about you ruby
you are probablly right Joso on the pink eyes
As you can see, I am (boringly) interested in that stuff and genetics
you are not boring Ruby by far are you
Have you ever seen an albino black person? They have red hair, very white skin and pink eyes
just on tv Ruby
blone, blue eyes, tall, and pretty/handsome people have serious advantages in this world
when I talk to my husband about anything like that, his eyes just glaze over
isnt that the truth Joso
my father was very handsome but short
i much prefer chatting with those who know something, it's the funnest way to learn new stuff
actually, U'm very tall and blonde NOT! lol
3 out of 4 probably served him well in life
is that with you heels Ruby-LOL
I used to be 5 l but not any more
yea, I used to be close to 6 feet, now I'm close to close to 6 feet
well you are tall Joso then
when I dress up (rarely), I wear platforms with 4" heels
still not tall but at least not midget-ish
for world average maybe, but for north anerican average male I think not, average
I bet you are just fine the way you are Ruby
ty for the vote of confidence
I dont think looks is the most important thing of a person anyway
I'm not sure, but i think height might be less important for females
tall women just look better in clothes
I think when we're young, looks are very important. Older, just being alive is what counts!
and short women look better without?
maybe....
LOL joso
thats one thing nice about the computer--you can love people with out knowing their looks unless its posted
hi everyone
HI Pink--how are you
hi pink
im great ty good to see you been a bit
I think looks are more important to women than men, important for both, but more so height for men and looks for women. if we where all solomon-jesus-ghandi-mandella-mother terresa appearance would matter alot less, but such is not the case
hey pink
hi joosos ltns where u been hiding out
amen, joso. Nobody would ever mistake me for Mother Teresa
s
Hi Pms
have shifted to a day schedule, so not around for the night crew very often
Hi puglet
hi pms
pug how u doing
joso I get it
Iam doing okay Pink,ths
goat
he he he, nobody is going to lump me in with that crew iether
hi pms
I hate mornings
well at l5 you drop in for a visit now and then--so thanks for that Joso
I love mornings! As least when the weather is nice. I open up the house to the fresh air and bird song
Hi. Must remember not to post in chatterbox as I never remember to go out of it again.
wow ruby that is cool wish I was
why do you hate mornings, pink?
and the garden is getting pinker and pinker!
a total night owl if my schedule would allow
I too like opening the windows to let in fresh air Ruby
pink is super ruby do your dogs bother the garden??
Joso, are you seeing signs of spring yet
snow is almost all gone, but the ground is still rock hard. I would say signs that spring is coming, but not here yet.
yes, WhenRuffino was a baby, he chewed off ALL the irises and last year, when Rafaella was a baby, she squashed all the allium
Maybe this year will be better
well maybe it wont be much longer then Joso
muddy feet too ruby my collie never ate anything just stood in it lol
when it rains, the amount of mud they bring inis incredible. I can't teach them to wipe their feet, or husband, for that matter
I hope you are planning on taking better care of yourself now Joso, not that Iam being bossy but hate to see you getting ill again
that's funny
joso just so you know I am no better at this then when I started
yea, will hit the treadmill once I get ok from doc to exercise again, per surgery was under orders not to exercise at all.
see you later, kids, 131 words plus this lovely chat. Nice way to start th day
bye Ruby, enjoy your day and take care
per=pre
by ruby
and I bet no more of those eight course meals either--lol
remember muddy feet look cute on doga
doga
pug, is rose still around, is her recovery going well?
dogs too
ta ta ruby, enjoy your spring
I didnt see her today but yes shes doing real good and plans to return to work at the end of the month
oh, I am so glad it's going well for her, she's had such a string of bad luck it's about time something worked out for her.
rose keeps on smiling too
te
yes it is! and about the same for you too, I would say
Pink, did you get a bunch of rain last week too

hi-bye zoozs, nice to catch a glimpse
Just a quick hi and hugs from me. Good to see you Joso and I also wish you a speedy recovery from your surgery :)
Hi and Hugs Liz
How are you doing, Pugs?
tnx liz, hope all is well with you and yours
All's good here thanks
doing okay Liz and YOU? hows the toes
About 95% Pugs. It stormed for a bit today so I put on shoes for the first time - toes ached a bit. Debating about going to the gym tomorrow. Will see how they are then!
glad they are getting better
Thanks! It was such a stupid thing!
what's up with the toes?
just one of those things but that didnt make the pain any less
I slipped on the tiles in our hall and slammed my toes into the wall. Only bruised thank goodness but pretty painful!
Disadvantage of hot climate and bare feet!
severe stubbing, makes me wince just to hear about it
I must admit i yelped!
Hobbled around for 2 days - not a good sight!
they still black and blue
A bit! One toe was pretty red when i took my trainers off after shopping! But definitely getting better. Blue nail polish hides what it looks like under the nail!
I hope you dont lose the nail
as for me, the put in 3 stents, first done in the 80's and now minor procedure, and I feel like they've removed 20 years from my age
Don't think I will - I sort of clenched my toes to try and stop myself falling, so it's more just below the nail, on the joint that I hurt myself.
That's awesome Joso - it will make such a difference to you.
thats all that bad eating and smoking and Iam soooo glad you got it done Joso before worse could happen
Very true Pugs - got to be good now Joso!!!
it will, will no longer gasp and clutch my chest after a flight of stairs, or die in6-12 months
Not dying is always a good option.
now that you got a second chance--make sure you take care of yourself
always my first choice
I 2nd that!
OK - off to watch a rerun of Minority Report on TV. Haven't seen it for years. Hugs and good to catch up with you both :)
hugs and bye Liz
watch me overcompensate and wind up looking like swartzneger
LOL---hope you do
LOL---hope you do
whatever it takes for you to be around for another hundred years or more--lol
sounds like a plan
got to go now, beauty sleep time, c u later pug
bye Jose, do take care, hugs
bye friends

oo6?
and now it is time for Crossy's brand new WORD of the day!!!!!
fan - think lots and lots
ty lady
todays word is kintsukuroi It is Japanese of course and here is a nice article about it: http://tinyurl.com/cptkva8
yw
just got to 100 words i will be back
I really like that article, crossy; interesting concept makes me think about all those things I threw away that could've been saved and repaired.
glad you enjoyed it, Lady:))
not just things of course, but also a interesting concept of life.
Gm, everyone. Ty for the de8/9 nbt nbs!
howdy lbd
Hi crossy
i agree
it is much like the tale of the old Japanese woman carrying two buckets of water but one bucket has a small hole in it. have you heard of this one?
no i haven't
flowers
well, she walked the same path for many years , from well to her hut by the sea carrying two buckets of water. One bucket was fine and strong and was proud to hold the water for the woman, while the other bucket was sad because water would leak from a hole that was in his side, so when the old woman came to her hut, the leaky bucket was half full...
so how come you can't put a t in front of the oo6 ??
The old woman heard the bucket speaking many years later of how he was not worthy to carry water for the woman and that the woman should just get another, better bucket and abandon the leaky one...
but the old woman spoke to the bucket as she pointed to the side of the road: "look at all those wonderful flowers that line your side of the road. You helped create them over these many years by providing them with water" "They would not be there, but for you" "Do, not be so quick to dismiss something that is not perfect, there is worth in everything"
wonderful :)
sorry, had to paraphrase that from memory
nicely done, crossy
TO has that story in her profile. It's a good one.
ahh did not know that. For the exact lay of this tale, check TO' profile then
any omissions or errors are mine then.
as I said, I did it from memory from when I read this many years ago, but thanks for jumping in for me there, molly:)) now they can see the full story
hello
howdy MLFAN
hi cross
back from kitchen ...ate a cup of greek yogurt
I should eat more yogurt and oatmeal.. reminds me, I see a blood test form on my desk that I have been avoiding:(
He wants to test my cholesterol and sugars
blood pressure probs cross?
2 years ago my cholesterol was fine, but I have been a desk jockey now for 2 years...
no, no problems, yet. he does want a peak though since the wifes sugar levels came back borderline on last test for her
hmm
I can sense a future of being cut off of some of my favorite foods and am procrastinating
cross whatever helps, right?
((crossy)) With my heart attack and issues I've been really researching all of this. Diet and supplements can be helpful but not what you might normally think should be avoided. Do not take a statin drug! And you probably don't need blood pressure medicine but that can be an option. Want some of the info I've accumulated? If so, I'll send it to your email. The most important one for me is taking additional CoQ10---really brought my energy level up. BTW...you CAN have bacon and real butter is better than margarine.
lol, ty ((mimi)). If my doctor puts the hammer down on me, I will def consult you and learn from your experiences
and yes, I promise I will get the test done next week and stop procrastinating about it.:)
I had the heart attack because I had a 100% clogged artery. The two main things I've learned are that natural foods are better than processed and carbs are basically the enemy, but should not cut them out completely. Think about it....generations ago they ate bacon and butter and fried things in bacon fat and people were not as fat and were healthier. Now with all the different oil saturations in margarine and the like and the artificial sweeteners and such, people are heavier than ever and heart disease is on the increase.
And...garlic is your best friend...
I am learning, but I learn slow. I use only real butter once again and I keep lots of fruit in the house. The big thig for me is to change up those wonderful, greasy breakfasts and substitute some oats, whole grains and yogut once in a while
mmm, garlic
and I keep a nice selection of quality olive oils on hand now as well
i do notice, however, that the better the quality the more they tend to have an expiration date on them.
Careful with the fruit...some have lots of carbs and can mess with your insulin levels. Garlic helps clear the blood vessels...kind of a natural statin. I'm lucky that the lady I work for really knows a lot about this stuff and has been helping me. So, whenever you want any info, I'm glad to tell you what I know.
i will remember that mimi. tyvm.:)
Good olive oil is nice but, yes, the ones with an expiration are better for you...natural again. Fresh foods seem to be most important. The fewer processed foods, the better. That's a difficult one for most of us because we want convenience. But it certainly isn't convenient to have a heart attack.
my beloved is the one who is borderline atm. Lord knows what my numbers are going to come back like:(
yes, we have been avoiding "frankenmeats" as well and going with nice lean deli choices and steering clear of things like bologna and highly processed meats
did up a real nice red angus roast of beef a few days ago and i have been in high creative gear ever since making new beef dishes
You can freeze olive oil, and extend its fresh life - but it will never be the beautiful clear oil after thawing!
Here is my every day regime: Iced tea using combo black tea and jasmine green tea (probiotics) all day (yes, I use sugar but no artificial sweeteners, supplemental CoQ10, fish oil, magnesium, stress B complex, vitamin D3. I mostly eat rotisserie/lean chicken as my protein (luckily, I love it).
hi, all. it's wet and dark outside. perfect Babble weather.
i know there are many horrible diseses out there but being a diabetic is very hard
i did not know you could freeze olive oil. ty for info:)
Your crossy breakfasts, BTW are mostly great---breakfast is the time for those foods and the bacon and eggs are actually good to have. Anyway, lots of info to wade through, so will help when you wish.
howdy angel:)
I was told I'm "borderline diabetic" as well since my numbers were coming back too high...but now sure if that's still the case. You're right, ivesy..diabetes is certainly to be avoided if possible. I'm especially nervous about that since when I nearly died 15 years ago my kidneys shut down and I was on dialysis for a time.
though i will tell you right now; they will only take my eggs away from me by prying them from my cold, dead, hands:)
Mimi, be careful of those rotisserie chickens if you have to watch your sodium
LOL, crossy. The eggs and bacon are FINE...trust me on this one. That's how I feel about cheese.
mmmm..cheese...
Mayonnaise is better than the transfat alternative, too - real olive oil and real eggs!
Watch the cheese - some "processed" cheese (instead of fermented cheeses) have high transfats - and you don't get the full value of the calcium content.
Love the new icon, Molly! Yes, I am watching sodium but I don't eat the skin on those so they're not too bad. And the "diet foods" can really mess you up...natural is better...that should be our mantra.
It depends on where you get the rotisserie chicken, but a lot of the grocery stores inject them with "stuff". I roast my own, that way I know what is in/on it.
I'm now also using frozen Open Nature brand chicken tenders. They're made very well and taste great.
There is nothing remotely edible about low-fat cheese. I would rather go without.
I often buy them cold before they're put in the roaster...so much of the "treatments" haven't sunk in yet.
yes, i posted a while ago on this "plumping" of chickens with saline injections. The ratio can be as high as one pound of saline/brine/ etc for every 10 pounds of meat
I have taken to starting with skinless chicken breasts (thighs are less costly, but more fat to trim!) - and marinading them in my own mixtures - fruit juices, vinegar, spices and herbs mixed up in my own kitchen - usually no salt at all.
fortunately, they now have to list on the label if the bird has been "plumped"
Yes, helen, again...natural is the key. I don't eat processed cheese. Also, I do love salt but have switched to Celtic Sea Salts...much healthier due to the mineral content, they taste incredibly good, and use MUCH less for the salty taste. Amazon has them, btw, at a good price.
It's not just low-fat cheese, Molly - some of the processed cheese are fairly high-fat - but it's not the original saturated fat, it's transfat. Also that calcium problem.
i use coarse Med sea salt , mimi:) i find i use half the amount of salt if i have to grind it myself each time
Don't you just love that salty after taste from those, crossy? It's subtle and very pleasant.
And to think - I don't actually think of myself as paying a lot of attention to dietary matters! Partly it's because so much of the research and decisions date back to when I had two small children and a miniscule budget. Once you
indeed, mimi. and the added bonus of using 50% less over the life of a one pound box is a great thing
I also use tomato paste all the time...just plain tomato paste...very good for you...really helps the skin.
ve done it once, you only have to keep up.
Sorry - stuttering fingers!
i am not big on tomato sauces/pastes. they kill my acid reflux, so i avoid for the most part
lol, Helen; my fingers stutter all the tiome:)
time
Since I have terrible allergies and am constantly stuffed up in my sinuses, I'm now using the Celtic salts in my neti pot.
as some resident pilkunnussija's are quick to point out:)))
Unfortunately, green leafy salad does that to me, crossy. My IBS just goes wild if I eat them. That's a shame since they're really good for us. But I do eat fresh cauliflower and broccoli quite a bit and tons of onions.
my beloved has issues with dense greens that are hard to digest
I can understand tomato sauces aggravating that, crossy, but a pure tomato paste may not...the acidity is cut WAY back with the paste. Anyway, just a thought.
Wow Mimi, you have IBS and you can eat raw broccoli?
i will keep that in mind re: the tomato paste:)
No, Molly...i don't eat it raw...that would kill me...must steam first or roast. I use cauliflower in casseroles and roast it with butter and balsamic vinegar with a touch of the seal salts.
mmmm salted seals..... lol
LOL...seal salts...the stuttering continues!
crossy is king of the keyboard stutter
I love potatoes and bread but have almost totally eliminated them...carbs. Oh, also even though bananas are not as good for us in some ways as we thought, they can actually control blood pressure, crossy, fyi.
Crossy is king of EVERYTHING! (OK, Molly, stop throwing up now.)
Potassium is our friend : )
The new no-no is wheat---in ANY form. Finding out terrible side effects from wheat.
Go with whole wheat - real whole wheat with the husk ground up with it. Or bulgar wheat (whole seed) steamed (for tabouli!)
I was amazed years ago after the dialysis how many things contain potassium. I had to avoid it for awhile, but that is really difficult. And---the latest one I'm liking is supplemental magnesium...really helps if you have muscle cramping.
Yes, everyone and their brother has jumped on the gluten free bandwagon.
Thanks for the note on magnesium, Molly - I knew that once, but forgot - now I have occasional cramping in my hands (mostly when I've been chopping veggies, natch)
That was Mimi and the magnesium : )
Actually, helen, the info I'm seeing now is that whole wheat is not a good idea. Yes, I know the gluten free thing is now popular. I haven't gone in that exact direction, but avoiding bread as much as I am now rather solves that problem.
Yes, helen, I take magnesium every day now along with my other supplements. I get very bad leg cramps since I sit at the computer and transcribe all day and taking the magnesium has all but eliminated that now. Also, vitamin D3 is a really good one to take...most of us are deficient.
About the only bread we eat nowadays is rye - as a treat - and corn breads - you can control the amount of wheat in them.
I feel sorry for restaurant owners. It must be hard to keep up with, and accommodate all the gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerant, peanut intolerant kind of stuff.
I still indulge in good artisan bread of different types in a loaf that I break into cubes and back with French onion soup and cheeses...yum!
bake, that is.
Thank heaven none of us is peanut intolerant - from those old days a little scoop of peanuts tossed into a stir fry adds to its variety of texture and flavours, and I love it. But I have to keep them frozen (well, all nuts and seeds I keep frozen!)
Helen, I like to use roasted sunflower seeds. They're especially good in the pasta salad I make.
Yes, great - also chick peas
When it's so hot here in the summer, making a nice big batch of pasta salad is just the right thing to eat. I put EVERYTHING in there and use a good balsamic vinaigrette for the dressing.
I'm lucky that I like a lot of the things I'm supposed to eat....love veggies (cooked, though) and love chicken and fish. Wish I lived elsewhere for the fish, though...a bit tricky getting fresh fish here in the desert....scary, too!
I do buy frozen fish but it's just not the same...sigh.
We get lovely frozen salmon, sole, and whitefish. Flash frozen on the trawler, most of it.
When Aloy visited we had GREAT salmon, though...of course, we were at a 5-star resort.
Well, not the whitefish, of course!
mmm... that was good; soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers:)
My son is in Vancouver, and I think he practically lives on salmon.
And goat meat - hard to get here.
We have one specialty grocery store (mostly expensive) that I trust for fresh fish but it isn't close to me. I adore glazed salmon....and so very healthy.
Crossy, when I visit I'll be wanting to consume lots of fresh fish!
Love shrimp, too, but lots of cholesterol in those.
There's a halal butcher fairly close that has goat meat, but it sells out fast - and a Jamaican grocery nearby that sometimes has it in, frozen.
i will make sure i have the best on hand mimi, Nice speckled trout from a lake i know in Algonquin park and fresh lighly battered pike cakes like my First Nations godmother used to make for me
Sounds great, crossy! Must get to work. Nice discussion, everyone. Have a great Sunday and hugs all around.
tc ((mimi))
Do you get walleye out of those lakes, Crossy? (Known here in Alberta as pickerel)
Nothing better than camping by a lake and having fresh fish for both dinner and breakfast...pardon my drool. Now gone...yes, Molly...really.
gooood morning! happy to see a big grid on a Sunday!
ahhhh, it just erased all my progress
damn you, servers
Hi All
Oh, no mael!
hi hego :)
Stioll here I see.
still
yup, no baby yet
alas
Hang in there!
yes, we do, Helen. I can get Pickerel in Lake Nippissing 2 hours away from me
I'm trying! due date has come and gone and while I know it's just an estimate I am getting despondent :)
Hi Crossy.
howdy, hego:)
It has to come out some time, you know.
not to worry, Mael, i am sure it will be any day now... at 3 am:)
right
better three am than rush hour :)
babies seem to never come on some sunny Saturday morning after you have had a nice breakfast and are just sitting around relaxing
lol
my son came to be at 3 am in February, in a blizzard, one hour away from hospital
did you make it?
hah, I'm past the risk of snowstorms, hopefully
My daughter insisted on delaying three weeks - in the hottest June I can recall - I think what set it off was that between being huge and being seriously over-heated (the only top that still fit had a high neck and long sleeves), ( pretty much quit eating. She feared starvation, and gave in.
yup, got there(she drained her water all over the seat of my truck) got to the hospital at 2 am, signed in, wheeled her upstairs, hooked her up to the machines for 15 minutes, gave her a fast bath and WHAMMO! baby at 3 am
good stories
i had worked late that night and things happened so fast, i had no time for mask or gown, or booties, i was standing there in my work socks and work clothes just in time to cut my sons cord
(they did make me wash my hands and kick my work boots down the hall) :))
and that was 20 years ago, now.
yup, now he is a couch slug.. I told him that at birsth was the fastedt i have ever seen him move and that it was hard to believe that out of a race with millions of sperm that he came in first place;)
birth
fastest
lol
Found a bunch of words as I was trying to leave, so still here. My first was born Friday the 13th, the day before Valentine's.
hi Mimi
ahh a lucky baby eh?
Mine got through every birth control device known to mankind, so I say there were meant to be since they had to pole vault, swim through muck and run an obstacle course just to be conceived!
And...I was in my 30s!
hahaha
my beloved was 21 at the time
Yes...I call him my lucky little valentine. Little? He's 6'5"!! 33 yrs old now...amazing how much smarter I am now than when he was in his 20s...
or therabouts
I was 21 when I had my son .
You guys are just babies, crossy! I think I must be old enough to be your mother...but...let's not talk about that...
he was born in Feb 1994 and we were married in October 1993.. talk about getting to the church on time!!! lol
i am 50 this may, mimi
My son is Crossy's age, Mimi.
mine implanted while we were white water rafting, maybe that's why it is so firmly attached to my uterus at the moment. Eviction notice incoming.
Do the math
lol, @ eviction notice
My b'day is in May also...the 14th. I had my first child one month before our first anniversary.
haha mael
good idea.
Mael, don't be afraid to induce. I ended up needing to do so with all three of mine...not bad at all...and they just move things right along.
in the last days of my beloveds pregnancy(she was 4 days overdue) i used to drive every rough trail i could think of and pound over every railroad track i could find. good vibrations can help:))
On my official due date with my first, I was out pulling weeds in the yard...he came 3 weeks later and then they said he looked a bit early....so much for precise medical information.
tried that too, crossy. I'm three days over at this point and seriously losing my mind. Mimi, I'll be talking to my OB on Monday, but there is no way I can be pregnant another couple of weeks
I hear you, mael..as I've said before, it's like being possessed. But I reiterate...I thought childbirth was no big deal, pain-wise. We're all different, but no horror stories from me on that score!
lower g anyone?
crorrect me if i am wrong, but is 3 weeks over not the out limit that they will wait it out?
the go** girls, hego :)
insect, hego
and then plural it
no, I have that, ty
Sorry...that was the upper g...my bad.
it is ok, mimi, i needed the insect;)
yeah, crossy, they usually won't let you go past 42w, which would be ten days from now give or take
np mimi
go4/8
lol a sixties dance.
poor mael.. feel like you have been pregnant forever?
yuuuup forever and every
and it's gotten dramatically more uncomfortable over the past week or so, so it feels even worse. It's mostly psychologically that it's a bummer at this point, I'm just done. I put in my 40 weeks, dammit
But you're going to miss that shelf for setting small plates on to snack, mael! NOT!!
I certainly will miss having to get up to pee every hour on the hour, sigh
Yeah, mael...where do we go to complain about "labor conditions?"
Have you been having Braxton-Hicks?
for months and months, yes
started getting more cramps recently but they never seem to amount to anything
Oh, my
They're worse than actual labor pain, I think. Hey, you'll be all ready then. I repeat---INDUCE!
crossy has a snack shelf:(( unfortunately i cannot get rid of it as fast as you are about to mael:(
At this point I feel like I have an entire snack bookcase!
haha, my (now) enormous bosom will make up for it crossy
:)
sigh.. when my wife was a new mommy, ber breats were amazing things; perfect, large, a beautiful spherical shape, stunning.. and she would break my fingers if i went anywhere near them;((
Some guys took my (then) husband to a topless bar in Vegas during a work trip when I was quite pregnant with huge boobs and he called me saying the bar was nothing...he had better at home!
breasts
her
seems they were a tad sensitive lol
I was always surprised at how many men find pregnant woman actually attractive...but I liked that.
where are these 50 s's?
Literally now clue, hego...I do have a 48, though.
I have no idea, hego
no clue, that is.
lol, I have that one Crossy.
well, mimi, it is safe now. Your lady is already pregent, she is not going to get any more pregnant so dive in! lol
The good bit of being very pregnant is people opening doors for you (which no one had ever done the year before when I was on crutches, and could have really used it). The worst part, I think was that she liked to brace her feet against my eplvis and stretch out - always pinching a nerve between foot and bone!
our kids used to like to dance on my wifes bladder
baby is now grating against my pelvis, it's super fun
I had a cat that used to lie on my tummy and chase the baby's foot when it kicked...funny. Then she would look up at me confused as if to say "How did you DO that?"
kid..we only have the one.. thank god
funny you mentioning the s words. i am over 150 words in and just noticed that i only have six s words so far
Just found the Latin dance...ole!
17 s's so far...yeah...can't see that many.
We had a tom cat when daughter was born - he regarded her as his baby, and was dubious about letting her father lift her out of her crib - I had to hand her to him for a couple of weeks!
and one of the 3 st****s
and the past tense of the dance!
crossy cannot see the dance
My big male cat used to guard my children...he's lie in the doorway to the nursery and if they made a peep, he'd run to me frantically as if to say...GO TO THE BABY!
oooh, thanks for the st6
ta5 and ta7, crossy
ta 5,14
ty, mimi, thought you were reffering to s words.. my error
Whoa..there's another t word...I'm always surprised this game allows ALL wording....but, hey, I like it.
though that did help me find st 4/8 and 6/33
Drop the r out of that stuff ou put in bales in the field.
ag's are tough.
Funny..ever since my heart attack I seem to always find st5/10 very easily...it jumps out at me!
stent
i am not surprised
i find all the cancer related words right away as well
Yep..that's the one, helen!
SORRY - also for having clued a word you already had, crossy!
It's all good, helen....love the free words! Now give me a really big one I'm not seeing!!
"it is ok, helen, but next time give me something i can use :))
...we are SO on the same page, crossy!
lol
I need to say I'm leaving more often....I ALWAYS find a bunch just as I'm about to go away! Halfway there now...that's really good for me. I only see fireworks in my imagination, however!
i am in same boat, mimi. the words are coming fast and furious atm
we 6/30 = a critter that gets in the hen house

wo5/20?
i was a kid when i first heard that song hubby and i wanted it as our wedding song. After our wedding we kept hearig that song a lot of places we went
Past tense of what you do when you court someone Marc.
when you make someone fall in love with you .. w double o ending
wosued
damn
ather past tense
People are rarely original when choosing a wedding dance song.
if we had waiting some year s later the Bee Gees p out a song called Wedding Day or this our wedding day. Its a wonderful song
We ended up with Through the Eyes of Love..so not original lol
*gags*

the Gibbs are kind of like the kennedys of rock.. they all die young
ruru Barry is the one left
they probably all are jerks at times
yeah.. he's the self absorbed jerk ..
I saw him get interviewed and thought what a pompous ass he was
ruru hhe two that were part of the bee gees had the same thing. The brother who died th most recent died on the OR table
he is also a bit weird
Puppy play date time! Have a great day everyone!

Puppy play date???
Yup! Going to take Archer over to play with Trif's dog, Indy!
i wondered the same thing Molly
We live on a main road, so it is better to take the dogs places to play where they will be safe.
Do they have milk and cookies and learn their ABC's?

I make a bit pot and it lasts me for a good 3-4 days. Anything with a tomato sauce is better leftover. I soften a bunch of yellow onions first, then dump mushrooms, sauce, cut up chicken (rotisserie or frozen tenders) and fresh fettucine pasta..top it off with parmesan....easy, inexpensive and better the next day.
big pot
un 5/16 is a stooped word;( nothing like just pounding in letters until you stumble on a un-word;)

'afternoon, everyone
hi welki :)
hi welki
howdy, welki:)
hi welki
haha - looking for a new popcorn popper - found this - a little overboard: http://tinyurl.com/kzkdtss
wo 5/20 pls
howdy welki
i am getting nasty lag in babble today:(
romanced, bichon
tyvm welki
thanks, welki
that popper works for me welki:))
un 6, please?
would be nice for someone with a home theatre and lots of kids/company - i like the stovetop poppers best, but can't decide
unimpressed, nan
though at $349.00 plus tax your first years worth of popcorn will cost $6 a tub + supplies if you use it only on Saturday nights:)
thanks again, welki
ty welki
no, scratch that $7 a tub:)
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :)
but you save a fortune in theatre tickets when you fire up the ole Netflix on movie night:)
bye, all - hagd :)
tc cybernan
uh oh, the trolly is sold separate...:(
probably a pain to keep clean, even if the price was lower - they make a 'home' model, too: http://tinyurl.com/kt6wabg
i would want a oil popper, not hot air like the old machines:)
i meant a oil popper like the old theatre machines
and real butter of course;))
I just use a regular 3 quart saucepan with a lid to make popcorn.
i have a 5 qt copper for mine:))
the copper bottom transfers the heat more evenly. less unpopped kernals;)
I have Revereware, it has copper bottoms
copper is da best
way back when, they used to deep fry the kernals in pig fat and when they popped, they would just skim them out..;(
Jumping in - use coconut oil to pop popcorn, then add salt. Tastes like at the movies. Delish.
ty mom, will have to try coconut oil sometime
Coconut oil is pricey.
i like cooking with coconut oil
I did with a copper bottom pot on the stove. My friend has one of those large popcorn cart machines.
i have used, olive oil, canola oil, plain old vegetable oil,i have done hot air popping(which i hate)
I get mine on sale at Costco
i don't use much of it, a large container lasts a very long time
sunflower oil..
me too, mom
peanut oil..
Pricey, but healthier. And so many uses
and last but not least, i tried it with a tbs of clear, rendered bacon grease
As Bill Cosby would say, the air in my mouth tastes better than air popped popcorn.
my air popper was used exactly twice then shoved under the counter
now it is yard sale fodder
what el* can a hot air popper be used for?
"funny how life is. you try some fancy euro cook ware and go back to grandmas cast iron skillet, you try a real fancy electric kettle with removable base, and go back to the old stove top kettle, you try a 1000 dollar coffee machine from italy.. and go back to the old stove top perkulator with the metal basket and glass top so you can see it perk
So true! We love our cast iron.
It is called progress, crossy
Hello!Joining popcorn convo. I have an old fashioned turn style popcorn pot. I use vegetable oil. It is yummylicious!
"i have a awsome tutorial for re-seasoning rusted cast iron cookware if anyone wants it just e-mail me

We keep ours well seasoned. Our egg skillet belonged to my grandfather, circa 1920.
Hi Minver and welcome to the grid....I always wanted to greet you

Thank you crosshair. Miss this place. Have not been here in awhile. I did not even get to babble at all yesterday!
A family treasure, ch
I got one of those whirly pops as a gift once. It seemed like too much work for something I could just do in a regular saucepan.
that is not good at all min!
Hi Anniebrook.Nice to see ya.Our paths don't cross much
is it the kind with the metal ring on the base, ch1212?
they made things to last then. Now there is built in obsolescence to keep the wheels of industry and commerce turning
Are you busy Min, or has "someone" been hogging the computer?
Nice to see you too, I miss your stories
(goes to look)
the rings on the base of the old one were for wood fired cook stoves. It was to keep the pan just a tiny bit off the actual surface of the stove itself
It does! I never noticed that.
the top pans are the Birmingham brand, Griswold and wagner ware is third
clue for the 9 plz

I miss writing my stories. I hope to do one today though.

Hello MollyL. How are you?I have been really busy with work and yesterday I had to go to Long Island to visit somebody who is in the hospital. Glad to be here now.

hi molly! Nice galaxy! :-)
I love that scene in Stranger Than Fiction where Maggie Gyllenhall forces Will Ferrell to sit down and eat cookies and milk.
Hello uusue2!How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log
hi min! I am good.
I don't know that film Molly, i will have to google it...i must admit here, in the Britain we tend to dunk biscuits in hot drinks...chocolate digestives in tea are nice
I dunk cookies in coffee all the time.
"Digestives" cracks me up : D
I hate coffe plus it makes me sleep...why Molly?
It's just a funny name for a biscuit/cookie.
aye, i agree...the plain ones are nice with a bit of cheese and pickle on
I can't believe after nearly finishing that i've just found the chinese food...i only cooked them last night!!
no6/21 and no7/32 for those that don't them yet
L, calm yourself and wait until people actually ASK for a clue : P

Hi Welki
hi, lil (agreed, soodle - too late for me, but if you can pull it off, sounds like a good plan)
One daughter sent me a picture of our front yard, just yesterday....just a few piles of snow where it had been shovelled.
Hi Welki, Crossy et all.
mountains are still covered, diane - will be a pretty ride home
Hi welki !
Hi Diane
I love spring time at home and I don't want to miss it.
Hi lilliann :-)
**springtime in alberta**
Diane, your great grandaughter's birthday is a day before mine :)
When it's springtime in the Rockies, I'll be coming home to you"
The new baby, or the one who'll be 3 in June ?
Yes, she'll be 3, so you have another one?
soodle, lillian - diane and i live about three hours away from each other, the rocky mountains are about an hour's drive west - and yet, if you drive an hour southeast, you're in (our version of) a desert
So..... June 10 th !
Welki, have you and Diane ever met up?
Yes Diane
We have it all in Alberta....almost tundra, heavy bush, prairies, foothills, mountains, and yes "almost desert", down around Medicine Hat :-)
no, not yet - the irony is that her son lives five minutes away. our timing is never quite right
That is so cool Welki, that you have Mountains and a desert.Which way do you prefer to go?
and now it is time for Crossy's web site of the day!! ladies(and gent); Love curing up with a good book at the end of a hard day of babbling? Well, this site is for you! http://tinyurl.com/q9gp376
neither - i prefer to get on a plane and go back to the sea :)
No, we haven't but it's on my bucket list! I know that one day we will. My son lives just minutes north of welki.
I lived two years in Victoria on the west coast, and I miss the ocean too.
Well, i hope you and Diane can meet at sometime:)
Lol Welki
Yes, lilliann... we have a "new" one born on March 18.
I miss living by the sea but our sea isn't as ? can't think of the colour blue as your's
Oh Lovely...congrats to the parents and you and your family:D Boy,girl?
my sea is the same as yours, the atlantic. (parts of it, say near florida, are almost blue - but i know what you mean)
little girl....Trystan
evening all! found the 8s & 9 all by myself. yay baby girls!
hi, dan
Azure...Our's is dirty blue...My ex sister-in-law lived in the Isles of Scilly where her family are from and the sea there is a beautiuil turquiose and you would think that you were in the mediterranean
2 girls!...lovely and i love the name, it's different
Hi, back for the last 115
Hi Dan
Hi Bichon
i love it, regardless of the color - blue, green, steely gray
Ooh the Rockies... About an hour & a half from me is the Atlantic Ocean. Wild, Majestic, Scary & utterly beautiful.
welcome back, bichon
Isles of Scilly for my friends over the pond is just of cornwall...south west coast of England
<-- would love to flyfish in ireland
Need to put my head down to finish
i looked at a map of wales yesterday - the borders are hard to figure out (my husband was born in cornwall)
*off, it's a small group of islands
Did he move over to Canada when he was young with family welki?
Welki, a colleague of mine waxed lyrical the other day about 'tying flies' . It meant nothing to me, but he was quite passionate. It involved chicken feathers & stuff....
My family are from wales...My dad's side
yes, lil - dad was raf
And alot of fly fisherman make their own Soodle...i don't think i'd have the patience...saying that, it's like crafting...
soodle! hahahaha! tying flies! my husband tried to teach me how - my one and only attempt resulted in something that looked like a small sheep! (tyers use all kinds of feathers, wire, thread, animal hair...)
** finito ** last word ST 6/24 - time for dinner - have a good evening all
(pheasant tail is popular, elk hair is, too)
Well. Maybe the little fishies like small sheep, Welki!
congrats, teach
Can i have a clue for un5 please
some are so beautiful, soodle, you could wear them as jewelry (and some folks do)
Yay!!WTG Teach!! :D
My colleague was so passionate, he drew me in. ( That he is a handsome hunk didn't go astray either)!
UN + past tense of to acquire something
un + a *gasp* bee gee's song, 'i just *** to get a message to you'
fish slap, ty Teach
Ty Welki
OOOh, Soodles!! :)
serious flyfishers are pretty passionate about the sport - and as i get older, i notice that the young ones are getting hunkier :D
I belong to a "site" called "Dusty Old Thing", and just recently, someone posted a beautiful collection of fishing flies....very old ones... and they were beautiful!
both my mum and dad are of welsh origin(do not ask for specifics, because I do not remember now) we all came to Canada in 1966 using the now defunct BOAC airlines Crossy was born in Watford just outside of London as i understand it;))
i LOVE dusty old thing site:))
you should have him take you out fishing - women are naturals at casting (something about ~~depth perception~~ LOL)
Just telling Mr. Bich that an Irishwoman, a Canadian, and a Brit were discussing fly fishing
I've noticed that you are one of my "friends" who like the site, crossy. I'm going to post some of my antiques one of these days.
fly fishing knows no borders;)
(looking for the flies, diane - see a sewing machine just like one i have down in the basement)
He was thinking of places around here in Connecticut
He thought I was starting a joke
(finishing bichon's sentence) And in walked a Welshman...
LOL
(i give up - looked back to march 25)
Watford, with all the roundabouts!!, or is that Hemel Hempstead?i need to look into it.Yes Watford is just ouside London on the M1
there's lots of flyfishing in ct, bichon
My next door neighbour makes his own flies and goes both sea and lake fishing
<-- is originally from ny/nj
*he obviously doesn't use flies for sea fishing
I was a serious flyfisherwoman for many years. Favorite spot was Silver Creek in Idaho, where Hemingway fished.
Lillian, we have roundabouts here, now. it is a fairly new thing for Ontario and we were the first of only two places in the province to have them. Yhey are springing up in other places now though.
The Salmon River, the Housatonic, maybe the Farminton
(mianus and saugatuck, too)
why'd you stop, ch?
lillian - some saltwater fishing uses flies - salmon, for instance
Arthritis in my hips, mainly. Standing for long periods has been a problem.
i'd love to someday flyfish for bonefish in florida - you stand in the surf and sight cast
I'll try to find that posting, welki.... I'm sure it was on Dusty Old Thing.
oooh, that sounds fun.
we should fit you up with a belly boat - or a one person pontoon (my husband has outfitted ours with trolling motors for when the winds kick up and paddling is difficult)
we do shore fishing here with the long rods on Georgian bay at a place called Craigleithe
i can't walk river bottoms well either, ch - so most of my flyfishing is done from some kind of watercraft
I never considered that, welki. I used to love to stand in a favorite spot and cast out.
It was Hemelhempstead Crossy.there is one large roundabout with 6 mini off of it....very confusing!!
There are parts of Silver Creek where the silence is so pure I could hear an eagle's wings far overhead.
we brought the belly boats to victoria one year and fished lakes in the city - was a blast! (and the fishing was productive - and tasty!)
I've been to America many times. NYC, vegas, LA, San Fran, Florida. But, Canada is now top of my bucket list.
Hi Ch12.
door's open, soodle
Hi lill!

spoils all my fun:(
no sneaking around when elegant's got her ears on :)
nn, seen to have some alignment issues with my typing today..
Ah ok, ty Welki, but as far as i know all the salmon he briongs back are freshwater and he occasionally goes sea fishing as he prefers freshwater
The first time I heard it, I was alone. Took me a minute to figure out where the sound was coming from. For those that don't know, Silver Creek is miles from anywhere in the middle of the south central Idaho dessert.
I use to love going sea fishing with my ex husband...the fishing, more than him, and i caught a dog fish once
my record here for freshwater salmon on the Nottawasaga River is 40 pounds 1 oz
no worries, lil - different kinds of fish, different kinds of fishing (here, in north american, you can catch salmon in the ocean or in freshwater streams - depends on area and time of year)
what a nice chat today - thanks, everyone. time for me to straighten up before starting supper
brb roasted tatties in the jackets must come out of da oven:)
Bleugh. Almost 11.00 pm here. I'm off to bed now, but I'l dream of visiting Canada.

I managed to grab a red hot plate tonight and have burnt myself badly. I am doing one finger typing
It's awful!!i'm glad i don't live near it or have to use it daily!!

Oh no, sorry to hear that.Keep a cold compress on it even now...do you have ice?
ouch jaxx!

ng
tang
If not just any frozen veg
We all seem to like our frozen peas when we burn ourselves! :)
I have used a gel on the thumb and the base of the index finger and it has stopped hurting but even though it is my left hand i am still finding usual tasks difficult.
sounds like it is one of those that will blister:(
I should watch what I am doing, crossy.
Well, i hope it's not too bad and blisters
It had already started so the knitting will have to wait for a while.
3 left and loo break needed!
Hello all!I just finished my story of clues. Posted in profile

There is a lovely pattern for an easter bunny
I'm sorry that you can't knit for a bit Jaxx but atleast it's not the hand you use the most but even then when you can't use the fingers of the hand you use the most, you don't realize how much you miss them until you cant
very true
Knitting pattern Jaxx? I'd end up knitting tadpole!! :)
Why won't the game accept teaset?
nows
Stupid woman!
I ironed my fingers at work once. When i was a carer for the elderly, we had to iron inbetween everything else and had an ironing machine, which when you put your foot down the iron would come down..it was more for sheets and i pressede my foot and my fingers as i didn't get them out quick enough after smoothing the sheet.i was off work for about 4 weeks and had my fingers bandaged and that was my left hand and it was difficult not been able to use my fingers even though i'm righ handed
May I please have a clue for no6-18? Thanks

what a beaver does to a piece of wood....
or ga + a bird in a ca**....it's hard to know which g is used in words...
Hi Pen, read down a little bit. I think they figured it out.
minveryork, I loved your story and clues. You are quite creative. Thank you.
Min is our Babble Storyteller : )
Ah. I believe it. Dose she do this often?
ty molly...i finally figured that out... ;o)
Hello freckledcat! Nice to meet you.First time seeing you since you joined us back in Jan. Welcome to Babbleland!
Min is also our Official Babble greeter and cheerleader. She wears a lot of hats. : D
Thank you Min. I play everyday but i stay quiet most of the time.
Tickle fight time!
Tell me will I improve as I Babble longer?
Sometimes you are better off that way. I was quiet when I first joined Babble, but the chog is usually so much fun!
yes. I know so many words now. Knowing what they mean is a different story though.
i mean i know cwms is a word. what it means? no clue :)
That depends on what kind of retention you have for obscure foreign currency words and obscure mammal words.
Hopefully freckeldcat! I joined Babble in 2006, but feel like I could improve a lot more. There are some Babble wizards that I do not even come close to! Those that are able to finish almost every day and those who can babble listless and those who can find words at record speed. I would say that I am still a mediocre babbler.
Thanks for the tips MollyL
help with the last ag6 please?
I do enjoy the dialogue most of the time and I do use some of the clues ( some I don't get). I am glad that I joined.
ag + not in + vowel (speaking of obscure mammals)
cwms is a valley in Whales. It is pronounced koom though
thanks molly!
Hi moule! You & I joined Babbleland about the same time.
Hi Min
I may not retain but I don't care if I get them all. I just like the game and hope to help my brain to stay active.
And that is the best attitude to have about this game. It should be FUN not stressful, which it is most of the time.
I think Babble is one of the most challenging word games on the internet. It's actually the only one I dabble in. I've tried other word games and they didn't hold my interest very long.
I've always found the colors, yellow on green, welcoming.
I concur with Molly
If I had to change one thing though, flip would be every 12 hours.
I play weboggle & wordtwist too,but not as fun as Babble
Green and yellow are not my favorite colors. I would like to see a different color scheme, but the game is still fun.
I agree about the colors Min.
My problem is that I get going and I forget that I do have some responsibilities that I need to take care of !
And Cos, it would be fun to have the flip be in 12 hours instead of 24.
hello, all!
swon
Good evening Babblers
Hello 72 Temple Owl! How are you doing? Welcome to grid

before bed of cours
Ah, the evil "I fart in your general direction" retaliation.
Thats if I even decide to let him sleep in the bedroom :P
No "DH" for Cos tonight : D
Unless, like me, you think that stands for dickhead.
Relationship gurus will say don't go to bed angry cosdem.
lol i do actually
when first saw it I assumed thats what it meant
Of course, I NEVER do follow that advice myself cosdem.
lol well clair huxtable went to bed mad often and she and cliff had a strong marriage :P
That's okay Min, we don't all live in a hearts and flowers world where people have perfect DH relationships.
Since being tired can make you irritable, sometimes going to bed can be the best thing.
A man was walking along a beach in southern California when God approached him and said the man had been good and kind and he would grant him one wish......the man thought and said, "I would like a bridge from California to Hawaii....so I could drive over instead of flying." God said, "Now you realize that we would have to drill down to the bottom of the ocean for a lot of miles for this......can you think of anything else you would really want/" Again the man thought and said "OK, God, I would really like to know what makes women do the things they do?' God said, "You want two or four lanes?'"
I agree Wht.
That is funny gapeach! I have seen that joke before, but I laugh every time I see it.According to this,God is a man
That is a cute joke Peach. And you could easily switch out the sexes and it would be just as funny.
Clue for the nu7,52, please
Pecan + what you put in the fireplace.
Personally, I have wondered quite a bit about what makes men do the things they do. Then I decided it wasn't really important and stopped wondering about it. : D
