I think so but we buy one that we support - it's from Nicaragua - some of our members go down to visit the plantation and make sure the farmers are being paid fair wage - they also have a program to help get young boys off the streets and into trades

my wife has tried for a year now to get an accurate diagnosis on something. she often has these symptoms as well as new episode of vertigo. she has bad eyes however (20/400) and they have ruled out any ear issues and a ct of her head came back fine. Dr. said just this week that her sugar level came back "borderline" at a 65 I think it was

This is unreal, crossy...I have some of the same symptoms as your and rose! Mornings are terrible and I have vertigo. I already know I have heart damage from the heart attack but after extensive research I'm convinced the issue is hormonal. My thyroid test came back fine but there is so much more to the endocrine system. So, now that I'll have insurance as of 5/1, I'm going to get it all checked out. I also come back borderline for diabetes. Has your wife's heart been checked out?
she has been checked from stem to stern, and just the borderline sugar level has been found so far( she had a full radical hysterectomy 7 years ago, so I am not sure about hormonal in her case

Yes, and my rate is VERY reasonable since I qualified for the government subsidy. I had a hysterectomy when I was 42 but they left the ovaries. However, that doesn't mean we still don't need those hormones and should supplement them. So many things go wrong from hormonal imbalance. Does she get incredibly hot when in bed at night?

no,not as such, but she was on hormone replacement pills, however, the dangers in taking them far outweighed the benifits
Do you know of the work of Dr. Gerson in treating cancer? His daughter is a doctor now carrying on his work but they take a naturopathic approach and have many case studies of curing all types of cancer...even pancreatic. The established medical community turns its back on it, though, because they can't make enough money...no pharmaceuticals. Very interesting.

as a three time survivor, I am very leery about naturopathic cancer treatment alternative. If used at all I think they should supplement your oncology care, not replace it
It depends on what type of hormone replacement is taken. If she was on Premarin, that is not a good option. The bio-identical hormones are much better. Even though my thyroid tests came back normal, if there isn't enough estrogen/progesterone/testosterone, the thyroid cannot do its job effectively. Everything works together, so if one area is deficient, it messes up everything else.
Steve Jobs died badly on naturopathic care. Perhaps play with it, but keep those regular Dr appts as well

I also like to use a multi-specialty approach to health care. I think they all have something to offer. I can tell you that since I've been taking supplemental CoQ10 (ubiquinol) I have had more energy and feel better, also more alert. And the supplemental magnesium is helping rid me of leg cramping pain which is an occupational hazard in the work I'm doing.

naturopathic care is not so much in the forefront here, since we have for many decades been able to see doctors whenever we wish and not have to frantically search around for a more cost effective alternative ove insurance driven health care programs

I have just started exercising more (at my age, almost 71!!) and am actually gaining weight. Yay. Have gained one lb of muscle in my legs. I didn''t think it was possible
I agree with the exercise idea, but I cannot do so now. My heart is permanently damaged and I am short of breath just walking up my stairs...it's very annoying and frustrating. I keep trying to build my endurance, however...I have things to do!

I had digestive problems until I gave up wheat a year and a half ago. I also had mild depression that lifted without the wheat. These were lifelong problems that I had as far back as I could remember. There have been also smaller bonuses from giving up wheat. I do not have celiac though. It's an intolerance to wheat. Lots of people have it but don't know it.
And they have shown a connection between wheat and autism.

I know several people with kids in the autism spectrum who tried gluten free and it had no affect. I think it's more accurate to say it is successful with "some" kids with autism.

Nonsense. Your bone density is probably better now than it will be at 60. Hip replacement would take better, so I would think.
The alternative is to live in pain, walk with a limp and take pain pills for the next four years. Some doctors need a dope slap.
Plus - they do make some hip joints out of titanium now - so they never wear out.
I am going to try the shots for now - less invasive. If it doesn't work will then consider another opinion. I do have a friend that had a hip replacement at age 39. I just spoke with her this weekend. She is in the medical profession as well. She thinks the shots are the way to go for now too.
River...get a 2nd opinion....they told me the same thing with my knees(bone against bone ) when I was 40. I lived with that excruciating pain for 22 years before they would do it. Not pleasant!
My cortisone shot lasted one day and then you had to wait 3 months for another!
I am dealing with a herniated disk as well. Pain is coming from both. Have had 2 epidural steroid injections in my back. Cant really tell if they worked because my hip is bad. It will be interesting to see how I fell after the cortisone shot.
I wish cortisone worked for me. Alas, my body ignores it completely.
I did get relief from the steroid injections in my back
so hopeful I will get relief from the hip

I feel for your River. I had a laminectomy on two ruptured discs in my back. Then I had to have tendon lengthening surgery on my hip. Fun times!
Plus your other hip gets the brunt of the usage and goes bad more quickly, not to mention what this does to your spine!
my back doctor thinks my hip is making my back worse.....says I need to take care of the hip first. I see the hip Doctor again on May 13 just after I get back from my trip.

That Angel Food cake mix/cake mix one is good. You mix it all together and toss it in a gallon zip lock bag and then you can make the cake whenever the craving hits you.

Speaking of people like your brother, who seem unable to break free of the injuries of their past, I read something interesting about post traumatic stress disorder treatment. Apparently the goal of treatment is to teach people that they can remember an experience without re-living it.
that I think is really, really hard to do molly.. I suffer from that myself .. so I understand where he's coming from. I felt like I could reach him ..but really to no avail
Oh I have no doubt that it is hard to do. I think the goal of treatment is that "living it" is a conditioned response so perhaps remembering it without the re-living can be conditioned as well.
