I think there must be a suffix I am missing somehow
1st person pronoun + abbrev for southeast
that's the ending for the 9"s?
ending for a po 7... then po 8 is the person doing the po 7
he 9 ends in synonym for attempts

May I please have a clue for po7-32 the 1st? Thanks
Hi Peach--havent seen you in awhile
Hey there, pug. I'm just tired. Hopefully, with spring here, I will feel better. Hope you are well.
Iam doing much better,ty---I hope the weather h4s you too
I do believe the weather affects most people.
have you been getting nicer weather here lately
Yes, the trees and flowers are looking beautiful. The Masters Golf Tournament is this week and all of Augusta is crazy.
The greens are beautiful.....It's on TV, much better view than being there, actually.
brb
ours are just not starting to bud out---do you watch it
now (I meant)
No, just see it on the evening news.
cooee and g'gay from me
are you able to get out to get some sun, Peach
Hugs and Hi Rose--feeling better today
not a good start....*g'day*
whys that or can you say
huhs to you dearest pugs. yes thanx. things seem to have settled nicely.
my typing is so cr**....wwaaahhh
how did it go yesterday
When we moved here in 1977, our real estate lady told me that there was an opening at the club.....so I went and filled out an application.....of course, I didn't get the job because I didn't know anyone here....they are very cliqueish (sp) here. But I did get to see the grounds and the club house.
and all i am drinking is iced tea...
its okay -- I can read it just fine
I have never tried golfing myself
pugs, are you still improving, dear? and peach, how are your aches today? i am hoping the warmer weather is he4ing you.
Iam just a tad sore yet and a little lightheaded but I think that is due to the meds
Thanks, Rose. I will try to get out after the Masters and pollen have gone.....both irritants.
pugs, didn't go to hydro. stayed home, in bed most of the day. i took some extra FM meds also, which have kicked in just fine.
are you feeling better now
pugs, are you checking your blood sugars at home?
Has anyone seen ruru?
i haven't, peach
Guess he had a busy day.
no---I go tuesday to a doctor for that--the surgeon said I will be a little high until the infection leaves
are we expecting sprite in tonight?
shes suppose to come unless something happen
pugs, when that insurance thingy all happens, and seeing as how your sis also needs her bsl's checked, would it be a good idea to purchase a blood sugar monitor for both of you to use?
I think she has a extra one, just need to get up to date strips to use
I cant see as how my sugar could be so high when Iam not a bread, pop or sweeteater and I have lost so much weight too
darling, please email me with the exact model of her machine. or can you get her test strips at an extra low price?
I dont know yet Rose--I got all the paperwork turned in and the people at the hospital are helping me to get help
bbs, bathroom vacant and i need to shower and wash my hair.
okay Rose--enjoy the bath
Hi all
po7-32 the 1st please.....thanks
Hi Dianne--how are you today
Hey there, Dianne.
sorry Peach, I dont have it
hi peach - don't have a po7 - yet.
Thanks anyway, pug.
Thanks anyway, Dianne.
Hi pug - all o.k. here.
po & consonant & something you sleep under when you go camping
and good morning all xxxx
Thanks so much, worzel.
morning Wor
your welcome xx
good morning puglet xx
And a good morning to you as well, worzel.
I have po7 - from the rhyming po4, add yeast will make your bread r***
Hi rbud
Thanks so much, rbud.
hi pug, and everyone else. :)
yw
brb - need a strong black coffee - long day ahead *mini-poof*
I have po7 - p + word for having the right answer but drop the first letter.
wow, thanks - never saw that one b4
thanks all for the other po 7's
rbud 0 I never saw it beofre either (that I remember).

there's an echo in here, in here, in here
Good morning Mum xx
in here
feel cleaner and better
Good going, Dianne.
po7-36 the 1st please....thanks
*smiling at you* hello son. how are you this fine day? and how's the little lady?
pole
oh arse, sorry folks!!!
roflol...
I am good thank you mum and so is Di - we are going to have a busy day today so it's coffee time to get my psyched up! How are you? xx
Wor, did you get all your planting done and the fence painted
doing well, thanx son. dad's migraine only lasted 12 hours.
The fence is all but painted - two panels to do, but they are awkward ones because they have young climbers on them. I can move the climbers away a little but I think I'm going to struggle. Some of the planting is done but we are buying more plants today for sowing tomorrow xx
peach, po7, start with the rhyming verse + i am w***, sage, clever
Give Dad my love, mum. I've only ever had two migraines and thankfully they only lasted a few hours. It's not a nice thing to read, but they were extremely painful and eventually led to me vomiting which, strangely, cured the migraine!
Thanks, rose.....I have that one ....need the 1st po7-36.
ahhh, po7/36, spelled nearly the same as co7, right, not wrong, just change the first letter
Nope - monkeying like mad, and not getting the co7!!!
Rose, could you please give me the stats for the g under the b==ty
Thanks much, Rose.
Hi all :)
Hi ya Liz
Good morning Liz xx
Hey there, Liz.
Pugs - gh 4/7 and gh 5/16 and worz - a teacher will co 7 a child's work.
and thank you for the mail and I never thought about that and the headaches
ths Liz
ah thanks Liz - that gave me another PO7 too! xx
Just seems as though it might be linked - perhaps ask about it, when you go back on Tuesday.

yay for sprite's ankles...
Glad the swelling's going down - I'm doing some lurking at the moment :)
Not right now - have been!
aw sweet Liz, why lurking? We need you with us :D
great news Sprite
am glad you are feeling a bit better, pugs.
I'll be back - just not in the mood right now. Nothing's wrong - just not feeling chatty!
ok Liz, fair enough :) And extra hug for you then.

ths prite

Thanks, sprite - hugs always appreciated.
sprite, i took some extra FM meds for a couple of days. all seems to be settled, dear. * fingers, eyes and legs crossed*
But I am thinking of you all and like I said in an e mail to Pugs, we drank a toast last night to improved health for you all!!!!
*crosses everything along with rose* Smart move, and I hope that will keep it settled.
oh awesome, that is nice, Liz :D
thanks Liz
awww, dearest liz. what a lovely thing to do. thank-you so much. and now i will shut up, and let you have some quiet time
quiet? No, we don't need quiet, we need your chatter, lady rose
And I'll still read your chat and enjoy it and while I'm using the computer, might even make an odd comment :)
so true Sprite--I have enough quiet after babbling
lol....well did you here the one about ??? fill in the blanks.
And back again! Waking Di in the morning can be a real struggle lol xx
Morning Sprite! xx
wb worzel
and you love it, right, worzel?
Oh I do, I do!!!
jeezzz so close to in***se**
Waking with a kiss is the best way - or many of them!!
I can't kiss her first thing in the morning!!! She'll think I'm up to no good! Moi, up to no good - whatever next? . . .
Up to no good in the morning is good, isn't it?
and what is with those three Gs in that corner... another waste of good space
it is, Liz.
Up to no good at ANY time is good lmao!
Very true~
new word for the babble dictionary: seriette - short series.
how about settenec, a couch with a really bad attitude?
lolol love it! Adding it now.
I got a half barrel with water irises in it and they were up about four inches yesterday
isn't it amazing, pugs? watching the earth come to life again !!
that sounds so pretty, pug! How lovely.
How about nitch? A dyslexic German word - NOT! lol
it is! and spring smells so good too
Rose, do you have alot of water flowers and water plants there
and would someone please tell my roses it's time to hibernate? we gave them their autumn/fall pruning, and they are all flowering AGAIN!
how nice
hahaha rose, they are heroic! (which is a phantom today)
God has sent you these for you to feel better--lol So enjoy
Oh lordy - off again - dog needs the loo! *mini-poof*
Wor is playing musical chair this morning-lol
ohohoh...sprite...poleece...a very polite member of the constabulary.

roflolllllll!
and...and....and...poleecette...the female of the species
lol rose
we are in for a series of -ing grids soon, by the looks of it
*sigh* have just told the bird off again. i told him that nagging is not a nice thing to do.
so firm, so resolute, our rose... being bossed around by a canary :)
brb
lol
he must be ready for bed
ahhh, himself is back....with dinner. catch you later
enjoy, dear rose
enjoy Rose
whats on your agenda today Miz Sprite
I hope not much, lol. Already done the dishes, they are drying in the rack now. Will put them away later. Laundry. And if I have the courage, upgrading this computer to win7.
oh and I talked to Carol last night and she thinks they are releasing her today
am so glad, pugs! How is she feeling?
are you having trouble with the xp
she says better but she didnt sound too good to me
no, but xp doesn't support a game I want to play with some friends. So maybe, now with xp no longer being supported by microsoft, this is a good time to upgrade.
she probably has felt a lot worse, pugs
Ive been putting a little back here and there to save up for a new one
My peeps, I need to do a few things before retiring. Blessings.
awesome, pug. That would be so nice for you.
Sleep well Peach :)
bye peach, take care of yourself. *hugs*
Tiptoeing back in - can I have a clue for the ch 7 /8 / 9 run - I assume they're linked.
Iam using my dictionary as my bank--lol---time I get it full I will have enough :)
Night Peach
smart, pugs, lol. No chance mr Husband will find it.
hi Liz :D
hm don't have them yet, will he4 looking
Thanks! have the co 7 before it.
I have a ch7/36 and it sounds kind of what some calls a outhouse
I have that one too. Can't see it extending though.
I dont know really how to clue it
me either Sprite
I have that one too - if I go suddlenly
we're trying to Skype but keep losing the signal.
good morning
oh wait. How about the stuff you put in the toilet?
Hi and Hugs Ruby
hi ruby *hug*
that is for the 8 and 9, rhymes with not wrong.
and the 7 has the same root, ends in frozen water minus last letter.
is that ch Sprite
yes pugs. CH and then another consonant
ty, got it
do you have all the b's---I got 3,4's a 5 and 6 what am I missing
let's see what I have there
Thanks for that ch 7 - 9 run :)
4-4-5-4-6 is what I have
yvw Liz :)
Another 4
thanks Liz
ths
ah, double consonant, pugs
got it--ty
WTG Pugs :)
Wow! Can't believe it took me so long to find cr 6/27!!!! LOL!
lol I don't have it yet, for sure
Don't kick a man there!!!!
Oh I forgot, all the blood came out Sprite--so tyvm
ohhhhh! Lol indeed. Btw, for us it is no picnic either.
ty Liz
Of course not!
wtg pug! Am so glad. Such an added injury if your clothes are wasted.
BTW - finished Acheron - amazing! Loved it. Taking a break now with the Lackey / McCaffrey brain / brawn book.
I was more worried about the jacket
Glad to hear that Pugs.
Or making the DH series last longer!
Or making the DH series last longer!
there was so much I was afraid it wouldnt wash out--but it did so Iam very happy about that
oh lovely, Liz! So glad you enjoyed Acheron. It is the best book in the series, imo.
good job, pugs
I would agree - so much to it.
Iam not to that story yet but I cant wait to
In a way it's sad it wasn't the finale - but then I haven't read the rest yet.
You'll love it Pugs but be prepared to shed tears!
I haven't finished the series yet but can't wait to reread it.
some good books afterwards too, but not close to the level of Acheron. I cried too. So heartrending at points.
I can see that there are certain things that need to be tied up.
also made me understand better why Acheron got so mad about Simi and Nick. No wonder.
Iam surprise they havent made a few movies from that series
Very true. But don't want to say to much because Pugs hasn't read it yet.
indeed. Will shut up, lol.
thats very nice of you guys--ty
yvw and sorry
sorry for what
for posting a spoiler
It's horrible when people ruin books or films by talking about them but you didn't really give anything away sprite.
you guys didnt--np
oh indeed, about the movies, pugs. So very right for it.
Perhaps - but if a film ruined your vision of Acheron or the other DH characters, you'd be really upset. I think though I love the stories, here I'd rather keep to my imagination.
hm yeah, wouldn't know who to cast for Acheron.
I always think the books are better then the movies
Whoever you would cast might be different from me and then from others too. Their image is pretty important.
I agree, Pugs.
that is usually the case for me too
But I'm loving The Hobbit and I loved LOTR - even though some people debate how true to the books they are.
So sometimes films of books work well.
I think they did a marvelous job with those books. I love the movies too. And even though the Hobbit deviates quite a bit, it is all fitting. And it gives more info than the hobbit books, since it has some stuff from the silmarillion in it as well.
the one movie that is better than the book, for me, is The Witches of Eastwick.
I found Silmarillion very hard reading - but that was years ago, so perhaps I should try again.
Enjoyed the film but haven't read the book.
not my favorite either, Liz.
Iam not big on movie watching due to the fact I always fall asleep-lol
the book doesn't have the humour that the film has, Liz. It is colder.
awww sweet pugs :)
The film has great humour.
Never mind pugs - perhaps when your sugar is sorted, you'll have more energy too.
that will be nice for sure
I record films on TV then if I fall asleep, I can just catch up when I'm ready. Also miss all the adverts by recording!
I really hate the adverts breaks. I almost never watch tv anymore.
he 8 pls - and if it's related to the he 5 before it, I don't have that.
Actually I record most stuff we watch - even cookery shows, so we can avoid the adverts.
I got a few regular shows I watch(when I dont fall asleep-lol
Liz, a place where copters can land and fly off.
What shows do you like, pugs.
Thanks, Sprite.
yvw Liz
the voice--crimal minds, ncis and surviror--thats about it
A good range of shows!
hehehe... some of those I like too, pugs.
Funny isn't it - from the US to the Netherlands to Aus, the same programmes air on TV.
oh and I like Steve Harvey too when I can catch him--he makes me laugh
it is Liz
Do either of you have the Danish / Swedish series "The Bridge"? It's really good - thriller.
we dont
when I was a child, we had only 2 channels. Then 3, and then about 5. And almost every day there was something I'd like to see. Now we have 100s of channels and there is almost never anything worth my time. I swear.
no, will keep an eye out for them, thanks Liz
We've just started watching series 2. Collaboration between Danish and Swedish police - the Bridge links the 2 countries. The Swedish detective is an amazing character - on the autistic spectrum, which makes her really interesting.
oh sounds good! I always love the Law and Order series with the slighly autistic guy.
I know what you mean about so much choice and nothing to watch.
all those reality shows. Jeez! What do I care how all those people live? Often makes me feel ashamed to have seen it... it is like peeping.
*climbs off soap box* Sorry.
Thank you both for the chat - got me away from my own thoughts. Almost time for dinner here but have a few more minutes.
I soooooooooooo agree about the reality shows.
I hate those too Sprite
:) Am glad I am not the only one.
and Iam not a soap opera watcher either
A friend who came to visit got so excited when we drove past the Versace hotel a few years ago. She was happy because apparently "I'm a Celebrity ..." is filmed from there!
I watch one UK soap (for which I won't apologise!!!) but I guess some of the medical dramas I watch are close to soaps!
oh dear. Don't you sometimes feel like you are missing a gene or something? I just can't get excited about stuff like that.
Actually most of the TV we watch is on UKTV!
oh some soaps are pretty ok, I think. I remember watching the Bellamy Family... awesome casting and great acting.
Me neither. I have another friend here, who when the last series of "I'm a Celebrity..." finished, went to the Versace hotel to meet the stars and be photographed. Not my scene!
but to be honest, I like watching soaps best when I have the series on dvd, so I can watch them in one run, lol.
And the jungle in "Celebrity" is actually rainforest about 70 km from here! Oh wow! Excitement!
I do like shows now and then about fixing up homes and food history sometimes
I dont think Ive ever seen that show Liz
I like quite a few food shows (mostly UK ones) and also used to watch renovation ones.
but, but, Liz... if given the chance to walk through the areas where LOTR was filmed... I'd go straight away!
It's actually called "I'm a Celebrity, Get me out of Here"
Have to admit, we're going to New Zealand next year and will go to Hobbiton and to some of the scenery in the South island.
I like... what is it called... Masterchef Australia. Really like it. So different from the uk and dutch versions. Respectful, interesting, with positive criticism.
Very excited about that.
I like master chef Australia - but not the house stuff.
that sounds like fun for you Liz
We're doing a self drive holiday and staying in b & bs. Taking about 3 weeks.
Don't have Dutch Masterchef here.
But love the UK one.
OK time for dinner. Hugs to you both :)
I really dislike the way they treat the participants sometimes. So without respect. The dutch one is worst of all. But Australia is awesome.
*hugs Liz* Enjoy, dear friend!
enjoy Liz--hugs back
Rose must be having a ten course dinner--lol
can I be jealous of Liz for getting to see the areas of Hobbitton and all? Such heartlifting nature.
I think the last 7 courses might be Don, lol.
lol-you might be right
lol my husband is feisty today... teasing and being flip!
I think Rose said he was sick with a migraine headach for about 12 hours
thats nice Sprite
I told him yesterday to think about everything he has and everything that goes well, and not focus on the opposite. Do you think it helped?
oh dear, poor Don. That sucks so bad.
does you hubby work the week-ends
it should Sprite
Is he and your footwarmer leaving for another canoeing trip
no, he works mon-fri one week, mon-thu the other week. If nothing comes in between for the friday off, that is. But tomorrow he has... pfff how to say that in english...
he is a canoe trainer, licenced and all. And to keep his licence he has to attend a yearly course. Tomorrow is that course for this year.
oh, how neat---are you going too
I bet hes got some real muscled arms then
no, I am going to stay home with the footwarmer, lol. My son is presenting a science project today in Nemo, a science museum in Amsterdam.
he sure has, pugs, and he is tall too. I have a gorgeous man, lol. Wait, I will send you a picture.
are you going to that
okay
no, it is not open for parents. It is a national thing. If they win (which according to him won't be the case) they go international as well.
he said they didn't get enough time at school to make it perfect. If they had, they'd have had a chance to win, according to him.
well Iam sure he will enjoy the outing in any case--that puts you all alone then dont it
eh Caya is home atm, she will go to riding class this afternoon. And Rob is home too today. Tomorrow most likely only Rob will be away.
like horse riding classes
yes
does she show too and do you ride
we have a manege (? is that word used in english as well?) for children with disabilities. Caya goes there to help with the lessons and the horses. She gets a lesson every week as well, as a reward.
I used to ride. Now, I wouldn't want to burden a horse with my weight.
we have a thepery place like that near here too
fireflies :)
couldn't you get a job there, pugs? For a couple of lessons a week?
yeah for you! The meds are making me sleepy again
I dont know--never thought of it
hah, I'm in the grid bi5!
I will check into it once I get myself straighten around
or maybe with a let at the end because I'm short
now Ruby--thats not true
thousands would disagree! lol
well shame on them
could be a nice addition to the income, pugs. But yes, first you have to get better.
lol ruby, nah, you are not a bi5. You are, as we say it here, a fire eater. A feisty one :D
and you would love the work. Personally, although I like horseraces, I am a little bit afraid of horses, being bitten
I think the fire has gone out -- down in the dumps today, even tho it's sunny
I guess we all could be a bi5 at times--lol
why so Ruby--you can rant if you wish
no time now, I'll send you a rant later
no time now, I'll send you a rant later
ok, have to be off. Love and *hugs* to you both. And to all a blessed day and a peaceful night.
xxox, you two
same to you Sprite--love and hugs
bye and hugs to you too Ruby
yay, mr. PITA has dowed off, so I have another couple of minutes
He is either too nice and accommodating and sentimental or vicious. Nothing in between
ach, he's up
good morning everyone:)
good morning, gearing up for a beautiful day. Which means gardening and painting :)
Can i have a clue for the second e in the second row for nbs
no, nbt
i think it's the et6 sue
clue please.

mmm.. perfect sized grid for a Saturday; large enough to be entertaining, but not evil, and small enough that you do not lose your entire Saturday chained to the desk and peeing in an empty pop bottle to get it done:)
LOL
Morning all :)
howdy, Smores;)
thanks for the ch's....nbt/nbs :)
heya crossy
time to get going. Love you all and will pop in from time to time
Have a good day ((Suefrad))
Hello, Smores :-)
hi and bye sue.... fenjoy your day
phantom = ch6/24ier
hmmm....mysterious F
hi zoom
Nice one, Crossy!
real mysterious, since I do not see an f in the grid;)
lol....no, I somehow typed fenjoy
or wearing an atronaut diaper yeew
lol....hey ruby :)
Perhaps it is between enjoy your day and feng shui..lol
:D
does anybody know if (large) outdoor goldfish eat garden ggrubs? I just planted some tuff in my "stump"garden and found 4 large curled up grubs and then threw them (eew) in the fishpond. Good idea or not?
it is wild when you see them wearing diapers in the casino..:(
they should enjoy them, ruby
hioefully, thry wear pant over them
they were yucky, but not as bad as maggots
Yes that is fine, Ruby..they will devour them.
some of thr goldfish are 13 years old
not the grubs, the gamblers
I used to use grubs and the like(taken from underneath rocks) to shore fish all the time.
Teenager fish i am sure they are even more hungrier than adult ones then..LOL
aaah, like nightcrawlers
Sorry silly joke but could not resist.
we started off with 23 "feeders", the smallest ones they sold. And now there are 100's many weigh at least one lb
{{zzoozz}}
lol, I remember hunting those big fat dew worms at night. My da would hose down part of the garden bed, then we would go out after an hour or so with a big strong flashlight and collect the ones that had come to the surface
We used to have koi carp and they got very large and tame..you could stroke them.
these were the size of my thumb, but curled up
these are pretty tame but Mr. Heron was back and they've been cowering all week
I think worms are amazing..lots of people just do not like them..lol
Bloody herons..hope your fish stay safe, Ruby.
the only thing I am afraid of is worms. Not so much in the garden, but in vegetables or trash. I don't scream or anything, but I get the willies. Not afraid of anything else
I like snakes and spiders as long as they're non'venomous (I'm not actly stuid, after all lol)
carp, herons, circle of life(crossy breaks out into a lion king tune)
Worms i am fine with..sankes on the other hand is a different matter..lol
LOL Crossy.
Snakes*
with my beloved, it is spiders. She goes right over the edge when she sees a spider
we have two kinds of snakes here neither of which I've seen yet, viers and coulouvres. Vipers are easily identifiable and common. Coulouvres are non-poisonous but BIG. When I go up into the field above th house I stomp my feet, mainly to protect the dogs
Mini spiders i am fine..but once you start seeing hairs on spiders legs then i am running away.
Okay...100 down...time for breakfast
We have some beautiful argiopes (common European garden spider), multi-colored and very lovely I don't like the big black ones that come up the drains in the house and that jump. Those, I kill
you know you are a babblemaniac when you see a collection of random letters in the top left corner of a grid and KNOW a word must be there, even though you cannot see it, and enter it anyways, and you are correct.:)
good morning all
hello teach

Are Pessimistic Brains Different? http://tinyurl.com/n53hafj

Whoo hoo, Annie is going shopping..bet you get a new dress :-)
NBT and NBS - time to take a break and gert some errands done
po 7/8 - the last ones pls.
There is a wonderful store. Housing Works Bookstore and Cafe. They take donated books. The proceeds of the store are used to help people suffering from AIDS, The store is manned by volunteers as is the cafe.
PO7 & 8 a bit like the strength of beer say normally ends with a Y
Sounds like a great place.
now that is a great idea, annie, plus it is good to get more used book store up and running again
I've been there! they do great work -- have fun! :-)
ty zooz
My friends is up from Florida so Barbara, Bobby and I are going through my books and taking as many as we can carry.
*just one friend
fantastic! :-)
Yes, Une, I remember you saying that.
That is very good of you, Annie to give your unwanted books to charity.
Thanks again, Zooz. Took a while but got there!
I am, however, a terrible book donator. I have every book that I have ever bought, or has ever been given to me since 1985:)
You are most welcome, Liz :-)
I would then be living in a cave of books, crossy
I for some reason can not part with any of my books..clothes electrical furniture anything like that i could give to charities but not my books..lol
hence the reason I want to open my own shoppe. it will not so much be a book store per se, but rather an excuse to expand my personal library on an epic scale . The only difference is the public can browse through it:)
You are like me with books , Crossy..lol
pi5,14 please
pi + babys bed?
pi and camp bed
pi 5 - Ends in baby's bed
lol, I was so glad to see e-readers come out. I now have 400 e-books on the thing; it was either that or get rid of all the livingroom furniture but the two wingback chairs and add more bookcases;)
Then add the little thing a golf ball sits on for the pi 7/8

in 8 &9*
crossy, I have erected a Little Free Library in my front yard--it is doing a brisk business with the kids at the school next door.
howdy RB:))
yes, I remember you telling us about this. It is becoming a popular thing overseas, and is something we should adopt more over here.
Good day to all. RB, we have the library boxes around here.
I have run out of kids books, they are supposed to return one when they take one but I live in a depressed neighborhood so the kids are thrilled to own a book but don't return. The klst couple days though some have come back--so I think they're getting the point, as saturation approaches-- i.e. every kid owns a book.
howdy, scrabby
What a great idea for the benefit of the schoolkids, RB.
I've become very popular. They don't realize the books I've written are in their school library. I'm just the ol' lady next door who throws their balls back.
now you are the book lady!
A Boy Scout built a library box at a park near here, and placed it in the woods, surrounded by benches he also built. It is a big box--maybe 6 ft tall, 3 ft wide, with 4 shelves.
put an advert in the paper for donated children and teen books for your free library, and you will get some stock I am sure.
true. many years ago a brave contingent arrived on my porch to ask me how I murdered my husband.--they said there was blood on my o porch (there wasn't) I said I didn't have a husband so how could I murder him. They conferred, then one said, "Then who DID you murder?"
We had a few homeowners that spooked us as kids. "Scary Mary" lived in the "haunted" house.
put a baseball bat, an childs baseball glove, and a ball cap on your porch and cover them in beef blood..
Hahaha
some nice stage props:)
I'm off to an all day choir conference, where we'll all sing a lot. So music today. Goodby all. Crossy, Vol 3 is done so this is a holiday. poof. But I just saw your baseball bat idea crossy so I'm leaving laughing.
Buy some items from the butcher and hang those.
:))
Enjoy, RB!
tc RB
always leave them laughing:)
right column greyed out:))
I am looking at that i now.
at some pint I also passed half-way mark:)
point
I passed 25%
and now it is time for Crossy's Quote of the Day!!
Yay!
"You have to carry the fire. I don't know how to. Yes, you do. Is the fire real? The fire? Yes it is. Where is it? I don't know here it is. Yes you do. It's inside you. It always was there. I can see it" - Cormac McCarthy
where*
I like it.
I do as well:)
I passed halfway and I thought it would be easier.
second half is a bit of a grind:(
phantom: chinette
mm, actually not a phantom, just a brand name:/
I dropped the last 3 letters for a word.
yup, found that one earlier
96 left and I need a break and breakfast. BBS.
it is a fully thing. My classes I am taking garner me 7 credits in total. There is time for 6 different courses in the year, so one is a correspondence course that I was to " squeeze in between everything else, without the benefit of class time .I am on track to stay in the 90th percentile with the six that are done in class. If I try to cram the seventh correspondence course in there, I know the last courses #5 and #6 will suffer. yes, I will will still get a passing grade, but will most likely end uo with 60,s and 70's as my focus on one thing at a time will suffer. I told the teacher that I am in this for the experience of it all, the joy of knowledge, I am not trying to ram through and get a diploma or degree. There is no power job waiting for me, I am doing this for the sheer joy of learning, and doing it well, not just for the piece of paper. So, I have decided to finish the 6 courses in the 90% range, give them my full, undivided attention, miss the ceremonies this year, come back in September and take a single 6 week course and graduate with the class of 2015 and not 2014. I have waited 33 years for this. Why rush it just to get the bit of paper now?
funny*
am I insane, or does this make any sense to anyone other than myself?
good morning, crossy. it makes sense. it's a matter of pride, of personal accomplishment
howdy, welki:). Yes, like I say, there is no 6 figure job waiting for me on this bit of apaer
why do something half-assed when there's no pressure to rush through the process - i get it
paper
and if there was a big money job waiting for you, you'd probably be conflicted between doing it, and doing it the right way
indeed. I put in the extra time to polish that paper from a 60% to a 90% instead of cramming one more subject in there.
hahaha - so if there was ever a time to be grateful the big money wasn't out there waiting for you, this is it!
funny, as time goes on, the big buck, the brass ring, mean a whole lot less to me:)
I am no longer a hamster on an endless wheel fighting for the bit of cheese, a heart attack and a 401k
hampster
age, wisdom, life experience - they tend to get your priorities in order. but, truth be told, i do spend time worrying about money (and i'd bet most people do, regardless of that age, wisdom, life experience thing)
I think, in September, I shall come back for university English course
well, I do not ignore all aspects of finances. It puts food in the fridge and allows me to eat once in a while, but I no longer keep up with the Jone's or get that next new, better, faster shiny thing
hello
'morning, owl
mornin', welk.
I took a pay cut to move up North years ago, got rid of the high pressure middle management job, the fancy car and the suits. Now I work for me, not for anyone else. It is easier on the nerves
I downsized myself.:)
you did it at the right time - not as easy to pick up and change lifestyle these days with our economy the way it is
<-- could use a little downsizing herself *lol*
Totally with you on that one, crossy. I had the huge house, the lifestyle, etc. and now have a much simpler life...am happier now.
Of course, the divorce is a big reason why I'm now happier..
no, it is not. I have my prospectus all done for that store of mine some of you heard me talk about least year, and I am going forward with it at end of this year
((mimi))
on the other hand, who would refuse to accept a large sum of money, no strings attached, and live a little grander?
Will be looking forward to more details on that, crossy. What kind of store?
wel, if you know of any free money, I would gladly take some!:)
It is a collectable bookstore/ art supply/ art consignment store, Mimi
decided to have a few different eggs in the basket
Sounds good...throw a few antiques in there, too.
well, maybe, mimi. The décor is going to be book quotes on the walls and antique ink pots and brass wall lamps
nice, cozy, comfy place
bookcases with that milk paint that ages the wood
There's a fabulous place very similar to that in Big Sur, California, right on a cliff in a house that was originally bought by Orson Welles for Rita Hayworth. They serve a little lunch and dinner as well. Gorgeous, very isolated and amazingly peaceful.
pressed tin ceiling, wooden celing fans, you get the idea
Sounds great, crossy...wish I lived closer...I'd work there for free!
lol, you could catalog the books for me:)
I know you're talking classic books, but if I have to self-publish mine (when it's eventually done), maybe I can sell it there.
I'll be glad to help in any way I can.
I would be honored to display your book:)
small display, right up front by the cash;)
Since I have the weekend off for a change, planning to do a lot of writing.
reminds me, I should soon get to my novel study..:(
The Old Man and the Sea
Did I ever mention my birth mother named me after Cathy in Wuthering Heights?
lol! Books have always been a great source of creative names for babies;)
She was reading it when pregnant....said I was lucky she wasn't reading Ivanhoe.
hehe
or Lord of the Rings. You could of been Named Galadrial
or Arwen Revenstar
Evenstar*
Currently watching a documentary about the life of Stephen Sondheim...fabulous.
Going to be such a great weekend...writing, lots of movies lined up, and great food....life is GOOD.
i love sondheim
well, I am off myself for a bit. watch a bit of House and sharpen myself by proxy with his rapier wit, and dive into my novel study.
Enjoy, crossy...big hug.
sounds like a good start cross
life IS good Mimi!! The alternative is the old dirt nap!. Enjoy the day all!
ML, also someone who, in my opinion, is underrated is Randy Newman. When I sing I do an a capella number of his called "I Think it's Going to Rain Today."
is that his song?
such a pretty song. Newman doesnt seem to appear much as he used to
It's Randy Newman. And, of course, though it was really overdone for awhile, Send in the Clowns is amazing...that's Sondheim.
send in the clowns one of my absolute favorites since i first heard it as a kid
i heard i tthink it going to rain from the movie Beaches
Amazon has a great collection of Sondheim work...check it out.
i have a lot of his songs
Yes...good for you...Bette Midler sang it in the recording studio. I choose that one to do a capella because it has a wide range for me...people are amazed to just hear voice without instrumentation...they get very quiet...it's great.
mimi acapella is awesome
Singing is the most pure joy I can experience...even if there is no audience. I was classically trained in voice and used to play piano...started when I was 8. Hoping to get my stamina back and get on stage again....I keep my voice tuned.
HBO has the documentary on Sondheim...it's on now, at least here.
Mimi am so envious i love music. Try auditioning for one of the music shows? I cant sing but have always wished i could
i dont have HBO

hi Judi
anybody feel like entertaining us with some 7/8/9 clues?
Lo7: taxis
Co7/8: French clique.
thanks, Judi...haven't found the clique yet.
That's about all I have so far.
ah, just got it. also looking for the two o's
I'm so confused. I thought clique IS a French word. And I thought a lo5 was a truck. : O
I've heard both the truck and the taxi called the lo7/8. Clique is a word for a select group of people. I'm tricky that way.
I speak froglish.
Si, I mean oui, I mean ribbet.
I came. I babbled. I confused. On that note, I depart for breakfast. *PEUFFE*

ty kalea i should hve seen the other one
ir4 is not a word only found in Babble
nope neither of them are :)
Just curious then, what is your definition of "Babblet"?
ahh, the age old dilemma.. The definition of a babblet
cwms for example maybe? :P
Naoi...
yes cos lol
Crwth..
ugh Molly I had something I needed to tell you but now I cant remember.
Naos...
Frore...
edhs
MY definition of a babblet is a word that you have not read in any book or magazine, have not seen in any dictionary or have not ever once heard the word uttered by any other human being.
torii
edhi is that a babblet
that too erda
Those are babbles ..along with ergs..
agreed cross
elhi
Oorie...aalii...
babblet of course will vary by country
therefore molly's point being.. ir4 and it4 arent babblets :)
this could be true too cross
it all depends on your frame of reference
Don't worry Cos, Soodle had something she needed to tell me and she told me twice : D
I is not a babble
I am sure there is some micro-tribe in some lost jungle plateau who has never heard of the word cow..
Freaking auto correct
or dog..
so it all comes back to you
lol okay molly
if i think of it ill shoot an email
do i have to have a frame of reference?
it is all where you look at it, I have never heard of the word cwms before playing babble, but that may not be true of our U.K babblers
to me, babblets are words nobody ever uses. Torii is just a plura of the Japanese gates, edh is, I think a Welsh vowel. Erg is just a physics measurement. Babblets tend to me undefinable nonsense words that none of us has ever heard, spoken or read
That depends on if you have to hang it or not mlf...
agreed ruby
lol thanks ruru that is what i thought too:)
some acceptable words are foreign and enable isn't necessarily consistent, especially when it comes to food, e.g. tofu is OK, natto isn't
I never heard the term diggery-doo before, but our aussie friends are sure familiar with it. Babblets to some. A day in the life for others:) we all have our own babblets; just that some are more universal than others
Everyone knows what a diggery..doo..is
i do ruru
I would place a bet with you on that, ruru. EVERYBODY?
I don't know what it is.
Anyone who has a wallabee..
My grammy came over for a visit from the U.K in 1979. She did not know what a Walkman player was. never heard of it. Nonsense for some, day in the life for others:)
Or who has lost their boomerang
I tried to lose mine; darn thing keeps coming back. :)
torii may also have hit us out of latin - means minus
chrissie is a boomerang somethin you use outdoo?
:)
outdoors
That would be the wise way MLF
does Nerf make a foam boomerang? lol. I could use one to get the kid out of bed in the morning.
or 5 clue please?
chrissie i hope so:)
A frisbee might work crossy
Considering all the definitions just given here, it always makes me laugh when someone clues a word as a "common babblet" : D
I just download 5 different sound if train air horns to my I-phone.. seems to wake him up just fine:))
maybe we should differentiate between common and uncommom babblets.;)
Yes, that's certainly an oxymoron Molly
cross i think a lot of companies do
Love it crossy
or sub-groups of babblets...
By the way, the definition of "common" is widespread, general, ordinary.
common, rare and unique babblets?
its a word i guess American's might not know?
regional and international babblets?
Wecant say used before that would pertain to too many of them
there may be a babblet book here. lol
I thought a common bablet was one that showed up in a lot of grids - like etui
cross not to everyone apparenty
It is helen, we're just having a bit if fun
Or are they come on babblets? So confusing. : P
helen have heard that too
*of fun
so, many variable. this requires deep study it seems:)
yes cross
must have our I's dotted and babblets crossed;)
sorry - phone calls and Babble only really work if I ignore the chat - but it caught my attention. Just not long enough!
eye's crossed
I do love a crossed babblet
trio
SORRY - not a babblet
Free clue :)
No deep study required, no dilemma. I just asked MLF a question because I was curious about what she thought a babblet was.
how about this: Babblet: a uncommon word not usually seen in print outside of the game of babble.
ty, chrissie -got three words from your excellent clue ')
sorry, molly., was just trying to nail it down for you:) carry on :)
does anyone know the 3 words for the bottom R?
aha, twas helen, ty!
i'm all in on come on babblets
cross is that actually true though besides maybe in the English language?
Only have ri4/4 MLF
is what true MLF?
what you said at 11:37?
chrissie i think they migtbe both 4's i still cant find anything anyway though
Now have another ri4/4 and ri6/18 MLF
well, it is a nice broad brush stroke that can satisfy most questions on this topic., but it cannot speak for someone in Patagonia, or Egypt, or some exotic local. I can only try and define it from where I am sitting:)
chrissie can you clue the 6 please?
Civil unrest and one who does ut
*it
like the rest of us cross lol
exactly;)

Hi all, i have a question for my American friends. What is a butterhead lettuce please.i've just bought a nutribullet and got a book with loads of different drinks in but haven't got a clue about the lettuce
a soft leaved lettuce. small heads, tender leaves.
Ty To,sounds a bit like our gem lettuces
http://tinyurl.com/mrpvryn
that should do it, lil
I'll have to buy lettuce now. am off to use my machine. Thanks TO.Back later:)
aka boston lettuce
L, Nutribullets are great. I use mine every day.
i'll be using mine everday.i do have a juicer but when i saw this on ideal world the other day i had to have it, as less space taken up, less washing up and your getting all of the goodness from fruit and veg
I have a juicer too and it's great for certain things (carrot juice) but with the Nutribullet, you get all that fiber that you are tossing out with the juicer.
Exactly.Am off to try it:)
Was contemplating getting one. Glad to see it seems worth it
They are definitely worth it Cos. The best place to get one is Bed Bath & Beyond, when they are on sale and you have a 20% off coupon. If you don't have the coupon, I will send you one. I have about a dozen that are currently redeemable.
Molly what do you use your nutribullet for. does it replace a blender?
hi all. beautiful day out today!!
hello again
help with he9 pls
NM
A Nutribullet is better than most blenders. It purifies fruits and vegetables into a smoothie like drink. Blenders often leave chunks. A Nutribullet doesn't. And it takes up less room on the counter and is easier to clean.
oh, then I will look for a good deal on one, then, thanks, Molly

Hi, Gwen

would love to borrow some of your grandkids, nan!
have none and 95% sure none ever
would you like the 14 year old? -- think her mother is ready to give her away!
if they are like my grandson, you would soon send them back
I disagree. Piglet is not overwhelmed.
is Piglet related to our Puglet ?
He is not included in the same way as Tigger, not in modern versions anyway
No, Piglet is a little pig. Puglet seems involved in pug dogs.
I know there's days, weeks, and years during the teens that make ti challenging!

getting on well, thank you. he has astonished me with his stoicism. A few moans and groans but nothing major. he will have to go back for a knee replacement as the cartilage has all but gone.
Diving in as i still need 118.
so maybe his recuperation won't be as hard on you as you'd suspected *let us pray*
Diving back out...Sorry to hear that Jaxx, but a new one is better and hopefully it won't be too long
*imagines the fast forward/reverse scene of lillian diving in, diving out*
perhaps. the main trouble is that he is as stubborn as his mother was (old bat!) and won't accept suggestions that will make him more comfortable. He has to think it is his idea and sometimes that process takes an awfully long time
mmm, not good with bottom going in last and coming out first!! :D
the self likes to be right...human characteristic til one is able to see that and let it go.
A more male characteristic, I feel
Then let him be uncomfortable and he'll soon learn
I think it's one of the 6 ego games I learned about
That is what I have done but it is awfully hard not to say 'what did I tell you?'
so, like the rest of us who've ever taken care of anyone, you make the suggestion on monday and forget about it. then, on thursday, listen to the great idea they have *lol*
lol Jax
Exactly, weiki
(and yes, hard as it is, resist the urge to say, 'what did i tell you on monday?')
true Welki
if you can resole, why not retoe? - monkeys not working on that last re 5/10
nbt, she whispered
I try, weiki, but it is awful hard
grats, gwen
Hi Nan and Gwen...diving back in
i know, jaxx. guess you have to make yourself scarce when the urge to bash him over the head becomes almost too tempting to resist - "herman, be back soon, i need eggs" - "herman, back in a flash, picking up the mail"
hahaha - or, "hon, here's a plate of sandwiches, i'm off to the marriage counselor" LOL
What good ideas. I usually retire to my PC . My granddaughter has been a real star as, very surprisingly has my rascal of a grandson. Jess has taken over the care of the hens and Ash has done the vacuum cleaning. Mind you, there was a small cash incentive for the latter but he did a good job.
good that you're getting some help, even if it costs a little. worth it for the peace of mind and extra minutes that you get for yourself
Indeed.
well, off to start sorting through the laundry - have a good evening, everyone

It's funny golf should be mentioned. I've just been reading a blogpost by one of my writer friends and she was saying how wonderful it is that her hubby is out for hours playing golf and then in for hours watching it. Gives her time off to get on with writing. :)
Every retired gent should get a hobby...preferably out of the house
I know you're right, lynxxx! My chap works away from home all week and isn't due to retire for some years yet. I'm definitely going to encourage a hobby when he does.
He's rather keen on wildlife photography, so...
My dad used to play it when he had time off from working..and then when my parents moved to France my mam started it, but then it got too expensive and with them living abroad and losing money on the exchange rate and things going up in |France they had to stop, sadly...now they have a caravan

Hi Peri
hi Peri
Hi peri. x

Hi cos. x
Fireworks!
Hi Cos :)
Yay Liz!
Enjoy your evenings / days. I'm off to an insanely busy day, with Passover starting tomorrow.
Babs - the ch7/40, 8/50 amd 9/66 are all to do with the bleachlike chemical that goes into swimming pools.
Bye Liz

'Bye Lizlin.x
Bye Liz, tc :)
cos - jsut clued ch9/66. he9/60 = serfdoms or multiple slavery.
Hi Cos:)
i need to read back as i was away from computor
cos - in9/54 - perhaps wraps rope around two things?
cos - actually a better clue for the in9 would be to say what keeps cavity call skins together.
funeral cravat(s)
*cavity Wall, that should have been.
o-o - Lol! Love that clue.
No, they have a house which they can't sell as it's too big for a holiday home and too big for the French. They bought it off an English woman last year who lives in France/Spain, i can't remember but it's taken them months to be able to use it as the red tape in France for a caravan is ridiculous!!here you put the same registration plate on the back as your car, but in France it has to have it's own and then loads of other things!!
se6/21 pls
Good clue O-O, even though i do have it :)
got the bleach ones already
peri - se6/21are you in the private se6/21 or the public one?
ty Jacula, th ought I had tried that
se6 is an area
got it ty lil
That's a b*gger, lil. My aunt & uncle had to sell their house in France and come back to UK due to pension stuff.
peri - y/w
My mam and dad won't come back
What part of France are they in, lil?
They've taken it off the market now. They should never have bought it..far too big but they were saying,'well you and your brother will come over with your families'. My brother goes with his family on his way to other places, camping but i did that when we were growing up, and it's not a holiday.Hubby works hard and he needs to relax, not have my mam have a go at my dad and feel like he has to do something..which he won't...which is why they probably don't get on as my hubby doesn't stand down to my mam..we want to go to other countries and be spoilt for 2 weeks
The Vendee
A clue story: It's a bi5/18 when you bi4/6 into a chunk of ch6/24 only to find you cl6/27 your teeth because it's so bi6/24. If you're allergic, it might make you it4/6 and scratch until there isn't an in4/6 of skin that isn't pink, or perhaps ce6/21. Let's hope it's only your ch4/6 that is irritated and not your cr6/27, because to scratch that in public would not be co7/36!
fw, bye for now
*my husband not to do anything
Well done, peri! See you on FB for our wordgames.x
Yay!!WTG Peri!! :D
lil - my aunt & uncle's house was in Mohon, Brittany. They had a mad old neighbour who used to invite them to his filthy house and play them a cd of hunting horn tunes, whilst polishing his knife and his shotgun!
It's actually quite expensive to go to France now..it use to be cheaper than England but i'ts not so much now
Thanks, Jac!
Mmmm, nice Jac...Not!
y/w Babs, whatever I did.
Where my parents live,it's alittle hamlet but there are only 2 French families and 4 English...They moved to France to live with the French
lil -They had us in stitches with stories about him. I'm still searching on the 'net for a cd of hunting horn tunes to send them because I know it would tickle them.
I bet there were some great stories! We used to go to Brittany all the time when i was younger but i've never heard of Mohon, i will look it up later. We used to go to Quimper and other places, which i can't rememeber at the momnet until i look at a map
hi folks - jacula, i was reading your post about your relatives' neighbor -just did a quick search on amazon.uk and found this - might be just what you're looking for - and you can listen to samples! http://tinyurl.com/qfs49fr
Ooh! Thanks welki. I will look now.
sorry, you can't listen to samples - i tried. you can purchase one song or all of them, that's what the song menu means - sorry
WB Welki
but hang on, i have 'sources'
aha! you CAN listen, just click on the arrow to the left of the song title
I have to say, about my parents', they were the only English people that lived there when they bought there house
LOLOL - in the context in which you described, it IS hilarious
*their
Thanks, welki. That's brilliant! I will be buying that for them as their very special Christmas gift. I'm giggling, it's brilliant! So glad you found it.
i like looking for things like that - my pleasure
He (the mad old neighbour who probably doesn't know what soap is, let alone what it's for) once actually spat on a dirty hanky to polish wineglasses for them to drink his home-made red wine from, out of the crusted carafe. They almost died not knowing what to do but not wanting to be impolite, especially in view of the gun and the knife. roflol
that's when you try to convince yourself that the alcohol in the wine will kill whatever germs are on EVERYTHING
welki - that's EXACTLY what they did!
jac, i was just looking at your baking photos. what kind of sausage do you put in your sausage rolls? (my husband is drooling over your mince pies - says they look exactly like the ones his mother used to make)
welki - It's time I updated my flickr photos! I normally use Irish pork sausages in my sausage rolls. In fact, I will be making some later for my chap to take on the road with him next week.
Lil - I think my aunt & uncle were the only English people where they lived, too. My aunt's very good at languages, but, and I may have told you this before, she did once make a huge blunder in the butcher's shop. She wanted a big chicken but what she actually asked the butcher was, 'Have you got a big cock?' Apparently, both he and his wife looked momentarily stunned before collapsing with laughter.
there is one store here that sells Opies food products, including sausage, but i think only the beef ones. the other store, an irish store closed a week ago. the beef sausages would work, i suppose
rofl:)
Welki - beef sausages would work. You want sausages with breadcrumbs as well as meat in them to be moist enough for the filling.
welki - can you get either 'Richmond' or 'Walls' sausages over there? They work.
checking out Opie's sausage is almost as bad as asking about the butcher's cock :)
Opies Welki?
Why so, welki? Is Google doing its shocking thing?
LOL Welki
lil - It's probably the word 'sausage' that's making the checking shocking. lol
no no - no word checking going on. "checking out" = examining
and yes, sausage, as in *ahem* sausage *LOL*
Jac, do you buy the sausage meat for sausage rolls or do you buy different sausages and split them and use the meat for sausage rolls?
I miss my mam's homemade sausage rolls
I remember Googling 'big pink statue' for my mother once to help her answer a quiz question. Even though I have 'safe search mode' on my pc, you would not believe some of the pics that came up!
lilliann, those brands seem to be available in the bigger, eastern canadian stores - i'll have to ask around to see if any local stores carry them
checking shocking...try to say that after a few drinks!! :)
lil - I used to buy sausagemeat but am finding now that they put all the crap stuff and gristle into those packs. So, now I buy a pack of sausages and skin them and re-shape.
I buy sausages and will skin them and make meatballs or patties
crap. that store that carries opie's is in ottawa - only 2500 miles away :(
I recently inherited my chap's grandmother's Kenwood Chef and it's got a sausage making attachment. If I can find out where to get natural sausage skins, I'll give it a go. However, I'm not sure I want to Google 'natural sausage skins'...
any butcher who dresses game for hunters, or makes their own sausage, would likely sell sausage casings
Your'e better off not putting a skin on them Jacs as it keeps all the fat in
Which is why i skin mine now and shape them
Lil - I made Italian meatballs on Friday, but I used minced pork not sausages to make them. I also include breadcrumbs, egg, cheese, herbs and seasoning. They are yummy with spaghetti or linguine with a basil & tomato sauce and garlic bread.
hi all :)
Hi smores.
Sounds lovely Jac..i like to buy minced pork
Hi Smoress :)
i need to dive in for my last 33...chatting too much as usual!!
haha...I'm only about 1/2way
hi, smores
lil - If you don't want to make your own sauce, 'Seeds of Change' organic basil & tomato sauce is lovely.
I'm still here to clue for a while, if needed.
I'm so thrilled that Welki found me that French hunting horn cd. I'm grinning like a loon still.
can either of you tell me what bridies are?
i've just looked it up myself on wikipedia, and they are types of pies to do with weddings
clue for the lone E?
evening all!
hi dan
Look at Wikipedia Welki, and it will tell you
Basically, Welki, it's a Scottish pasty. Here's a link to the recipe: http://tinyurl.com/6ybut
Hi Dan
Hi Dan.
Diving back in...
which lone e dan? top right is et** a sket**
Dan - et6/18 - French for star.
and now you have both.
Or it might be ec7/40- pregnancy outside the womb. Sorry, I've finished grid and can't remember what words came from where.
ty jacula.
Hi Dorens. How are you? Not seen you for ages.
i'm good Jac! with grandkids for the weekend, flying to California next week to see my middle kid (who is a librarian in Folsom State Prison), visit Yosemite, and meet up with Ruru and KJE to eat dinner at Chez Panisse. nice life right about now. how about you?
hi, dorens :)
Glad things are good with you, Dorens. Me? Well the gardening season is just kicking in so I'll probably be getting down and dirty for a while. ;)
hi welki. yes, jac.. they're heavily into gardening here… spreading manure today, etc…. i'm a bit further north so not quite ready yet.
My runner beans and tomato seedling are through and I planted potatoes on Friday. Hopefully, I can get some weeding done next week now my broken toe has healed so I can dig, bend etc.
glad you're healed… just had conversation with this 4 year old not ten minutes ago about breaking toes and letting them heal,,
gosh, tomatoes can't be planted at my zone until may 15.. lucky you
Dorens - The tomato and runner bean seedling are in the greenhouse. I won't put either outside for a while yet. In fact, I'll keep the tomatoes growing in the greenhouse.
oh greenhouse? luckier you!
i have barely enough sun for basil, not nearly enough for tomatoes. but i do have friends, and a lovely farm store nearby
and how is your daughter jac? and stepdaughter??
bit of a warning my babble friends. There is a brand new computer virus out there and it hides itself in a seemingly innocent browser plug-in. It is called Caramava. It is a medium level pop-up/ad flooding virus, but still a PITA. My son was kind enough to pick this up at a flash game site for older console games, and unknowingly installed it (and ten other nasty bug) onto my computer, so be careful
thanks for the warning cross,. one thing i like about macs is they seem to be more resistant to viri
I have just been hard at it for half an hour to flush it from my computer;(
So does that mean we can get it from you here Crossy?
That is one thing they are indeed better for.
no, I flushed it before I came on babble
I'm glad you mentioned basil, Dorens. It's a great companion plant for tomatoes, if I can stop the ruddy slugs eating it. I went up to the greenhouse after dark earlier and chucked almost 30 of the b*ggers out of there and off my plants. Hopefully, my dozen hedgehogs, who overwintered successfully it seems, will eat them. Having said that, I'd prefer they didn't because slugs give anything that eats them lung worms. Can't put slug pellets down because that might kill the other wildlife.
OK, Ty :)
which is why you have not seen me on all afternoon
I wondered where you went to
Ouch Crossy! There is also another one called Heartbleed or Heartsbleed. Watch out for that one, too.
have enjoyed your hedgehog pictures ja no, crossy i haven't seen you all afternoon cause i've been out running around chasing grandkids
anyone who wants the technical details and is a computer geek like moi, can e-mail me and I will dazzle you with the full run down, but just be cautious when searching for flash games on unfamiliar sites
Sometimes Computors are more trouble than they are worth!! Technology is great but not!!!
coffee grounds have stopped my slugs jac
yes, jacula. I have been watching the infor on heartbleed as it is made available. Problem is it hit our world wide web in 2011, so it has a bit of a head start on us:(
Dorens - You've seen my FB pics? So glad. More to come now most of the hogs seem to be back. Went to the wholesaler's earlier and bought a massive sack of dried cat food to keep them fed. I'm feeding most of the cats from a wide area, too, but heyhoe...
i've just changed a bunch of passwords cause of that +()$%@^ heart bleed. but it might be a bit of closing the barn door after the horse got out
Tyvm Crossy for taking your time to tell us and do something about it
you are quite correct, dorens'
yes, check all your passwords, and consider updating them
i found out about Heartbleed when the Canadian tax service shut down all electronic transmitting of returns this week - a few days after i'd filed ours electronically
Crossy - I got a sod of a Java Trojan on my pc some weeks ago. It was hell to get rid of, even for my son, whose paid job it is to sort that kind of thing out.
yes, many Canadian govt sites are offline while the fix is put in place
Do you go on Fb still Jac?
have gotten a few emails detailing which websites were protected, which needed new passwords… needed to update Facebook, gmail, can't remember which others,
for the average person, I recommend Malwarebytes free virus detector in conjunction with C Cleaner
27 left and it's a slog!!
Dorens - I don't drink much coffee. (re the slug deterrent).
And I no longer use FB. Too invasive
Lil - ask for clues if you need them!
your local coffeeshop will most likely give them away free… otherwise have you tried buying diatomaceous earth?
i don't go on FB anymore, as i was getting too many viruses and people hacking into my emai
crossy - we needed bigger guns than those to get rid of the Java Trojan. But we have those on anyway.
and the Microsoft security essentials
ah, but without fb, how would we see jacula's lovely hedgehogs?
Jacs can show them here
I'm not sure what the probs you all talk about with FB are? I have strit privacy controls plus adblocker and have no probs.
sadly, if I want to see her hedgehogs, she will have to e-mail me a picture of them:(
*striCt
I had all of those and it still didn't help me...
each to their own,but I am giving fb a rest for a bit
crossy - I dunno how, but you made that hedgehog post sound rude. roflol
lol, not THOSE hedgehogs:)
lil - do you have a double firewall, or at least a firewall?
back to my 27
LOL
Yes Jac
zonealarm does a good firewall, but there is a mid-level learning curve
but we dance left, hackers dance right. we have to always keep one step ahead
It doesn't matter as i don't go on FB anymore and they will always get on somehow
True, crossy. I still can't understand what fires the hackers. Is is a power thing or do they get paid. If they get paid, by whom and why?
do not let me scare anyone off of FB but I studied it carefully, analyzed the risks and decided that it was no longer for me.
Actually, what you said about hackers, Crossy, is almost the same think a security guard said about shop lifters in a TV prog I watched on Friday.
some DO get paid. those FB "like" posts for example. If a post gets enough likes, it is sold to the highest bidder for advertising purposes. FB is in business to make money and the people who use fb are the product.
sorry cross,. i use fb , not a huge fan, but i sure don't think i'm the product. think my brains are a bit better than that.
ole mark zukerberg(sp) did not get rich by just being a nice guy and giving all the info FB gathers away for free..
FB was very good for keeping me in touch with my daughter when she was travelling the world, and for keeping me in touch with relatives all around the world. It's also where I talk to old friends from school and other parts of life and where I hook up with other writers.
yes, I understand the other side of fb as wel. it is a very handy thing for many
Dorens - I agree with you.
ok we get it u dont like fb. :P
just making people aware. do not take my word for it. research it a bit. stay informed
sorry I will shut up then
My son, as a te6/24, doesn't much like FB either, but he is on the site. He once said Google something or other was better but no one uses it.
we can talk about my cat if you like:) he has no virus that I am aware of:)
or my cat, who has no virus but does have diabetes
poor kitty
crossy - you don't have to shut up. You are entitled to your opinion and to voice it.
just passing along warnings as I run across them and site affect me in a negative manner. think of it as a safety tidbit of the day if you wish
We can talk about either of my cats if you like. Unfortunately, both are just ashes in carved wooden boxes side by side on the bookshelf, each with their favourite toy atop. I'm waiting for my new cats to find me.
what's worse is that i travel down here to baltimore once a month to visit my grandkids, their puppy (and sometimes their parents) and leave hm alone. feel very bad about that, particularly when i go to bed and realize he's home alone missing me.
not to worry, jacula. one day a new cat will choose you
Crossy, don't shut up, i apreciate some who knows about these things...as i'm computor thick, but i do know that i got loads of viruses because of FB
Aw, Dorens!
well you have the hedgehogs for now as for my baby, at least my good friend stops in twice a day to see that he has his meds and a bit of affection.
Hugs Dorens
Crossy - re the cat(s) - I know, they always have, as have dogs. It'd be nice if a dog and two cats came along soon.
I am far from a pro, Lillian, but I build my own computers, took courses, did a two year home study on them and keep my own coputer squeaky clean.
well, you do have the hedgehogs for now jacs.
hi all, still here, popping in and out though
i just cannot type lol
Crossy, you know alot more than i do and with hubby working away i need so0meone to help me with computors...neither can i..:)
I keep my pc squeakier clean than even my computer tech son thinks I should. I also keep a laptop just for writing since that bloody Java thing zapped a story.
i wish i could have 30 minutes will all of you who have slow, chugging computers:) those computer repair shops are vultures when it comes to fixing software issues
Hi again Gwen.x
well, you seem to have things well in hand, jacula
When Hubby is home he sorts it all out but when he's away for months i don't know what to do...saying that, the bairn knows more than i do
Crossy - that's true, what you say about the shops.
Wb Gwen
yes!!! if you are a professional writer, PLEASE have a separate off-line work cruncher
my puter has been wonky a lot lately, so i've been running a lot of utilities to clean it up, and resetting my browser a lot, etc
seperate
Crossy - I am and I do. I just got caught out that once. Never again!
word*
darn.. my fingers do not want to work tonight
nothing worse than seeing the first 15 chapters all in clean copy just vanish due to some internet software bug
really? nothing worse? try having your master's thesis zapped and gone, just as you're ready to save it
and you're working a full-time job with three kids as a single mother to boot
That's a real bummer, Dorens.
i had one thesis vanish due to a corrupted flash key this year
but there are even worse thing than that, to be sure
Dropbox, flashdrive, copies on different drives and different computers etc., etc. Especially for a thesis.
jacula, for long term storage, hunt down a DVD/RAM/RW unit. (you may have to special order) unlike dvd/rw/rom they can withstand up to 25 years or more in storage without any degredation at all
ah, but this was over 20 years ago and somehow i survived it
the radio stations and cable companies use DVD/RAM
Oh yes, I remember those days, Dorens. I had two toddlers at the time and lost something on Wordstar word processor due to a blip in the power supply. I was so incensed that I wrote it again, but on paper, immediately, and somehow it was the better for it.
just another tidbit is all
we managed though, yes? and these things made us stronger
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing today?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Hooray!
crossy - I, being old-fashioned, still tend to print stuff out anyway. I'm a trained touch typist and it doesn't take me long to type something.
Hi Min.
cool
hey there min
Just an aside - my daughter turned 27 on 26th March (the age I was when I had my first child) and my son turns 30 on 26th May (the age I wanted to have both my children by). I did and now they are older than I was then. EEK! It's my 57th birthday on 22nd of this month, and I'm still wondering what happened since I was 18. lol
** finito ** last word TE 6/18
Well done, wvt!
wtg, wvt
WTG WT!! :D
You're still young Jac.. i was 30 when i had my daughter
Dorens - I guess you saw my daughter's birthday cake I made her on FB? I'm so pleased she's now showing the photo to her friends. I'm so glad she loved it.
just looking at what you bake makes me fat jacs ..and of course she loved it
Lil - I was just 3 weeks and 2 days away from 30 when I had my daughter, my youngest child. I achieved my goal just in time. A son and a daughter by the time I was 30. lol. Wasn't banking on getting an 8-year-old stepdaughter when I was 46, but it's all worked out.
Congratulations wvteach on your fireworks! Good for U!
I wanted 2 children but because of things going wrong with doctor's treatments i had 1, but i would never be without her, even though there are times we don't get on.i would die for her
Dorens - you know why I know she loved it an ate it? After all those years in a clinic suffering from anorexia nervosa when she starved herself almost to the point of death and used to think that just touching something would transfer fat to her... the relief now, I cannot describe. More so when she asked if it was real butter icing and I tentatively said it was and she told me she was glad because it tastes the best.
I have step children also that are alot older but none of them are talking to their dad or us sadly...i get annoyed, because we've done nowt wrong but even if i have or their dad, they've ignored their sister
your love and patience certainly helped heal her jacs
I'm no longer being 'accused' of anything - not trying to put stuff into her food to make her 'fat', not 'having the wrong boyfriend after her Dad left'. Not being accused of anything any more, but it had to be done as she went through the stages of therapy.
There were times when I felt like the worst mother in the world and only my son (her older brother) kept me grounded.
But then I feel guilty for having relied on him so much to ground me. 11 years ago, I got together with my chap and he's helped me a lot. I don't think the journey with my kids, or his with his daughter is over yet, but we help each other.
lucky you then
That is so sad Jacs, but after everything you went through, (hell, by the sounds of it)you've both come through the other side which means more than anything and that you are now talking...
as the beatles sang, "And in the end,…………."
Maybe, Dorens. However, my daughter is still in therapy and is also studying psychology and her attention is now turned on her brother. Probably not good news for him or for me.
i have a feeling you'll all mudde through
muddLe
We will, Dorens.
George Harrison is not my cousin for nothing! lol

Good Evening(if anyone is here)

I am in and out hoping someone with clues for long words will come along. Hi ladies!
Hi herin! How are you today?
I was trying to find the HE 9 for you but my internet is being silly
I went to bed at 7:30 last night woke up at 1pm. It was awesome sleep
oh how lovely herein!
I promised myself I wouldn't play games on my computer until I got caught up on my emails and such for the past week. So here I am! :-D
did you play today Nef? can you help me finish?
herin; you are so lucky you can sleep that long!
I did get up at 3:30am
Sorry I use Morewords but it isn't working
Nature called?
thanks herein. without Morewords I won't finish either. I have a rough time finding long words
Nope call of the hungry. Then I realised it was 330am and everyone was asleep so I climbed into bed
Bugsaw! I got it using A2Z Wordfinder
Thank you Nef that was the one I was thinking of.
he** is a shortened greeting + a word meaning "attempts"
They have changed the A2Z lay out
thanks Nef! never heard of that one but I will bring it up now.
How so, heron? (It looks the same to me --I think)
herin, not heron (I need to teach spellcheck how to spell I guess)
Ages and ages ago it was no adds down the sides
I don't see any ads on my A2Z page
I do
Sorry, wandered off to let the dog out and realized I needed to put some boiled eggs away.
I tried to widen my screen to find ads; but I got up to 16 columns of the 9 letter H words and still can't see any ads, herin. I wonder why you see them?
I need to go find breakfast. Scrambled eggs and Salmon me thinks.
Sounds good, herin. GOeaat.
Just waiting for the salmon to defrost.
