Yes, but I think it tastes different than on the stove top. Not exactly sure why.
i know what you mean...it's like the herbs and spices have been totally absorbed into the meat, perhaps. and not just into the gravy.
I love the slowcooker for some soups... chuck roast cooked til it falls apart, but some foods just don't taste right. My new cooker (a Hamilton Beach) seems to be better than my old Rival, so maybe the cookers are getting better.

me too. I am probably a bad mum, but I always loved my precious free time when the kids were small.
*shaking head, vigorously* not a bad mum at all. a mum who has some 'me' time, always comes back to her parenting refreshed.
well that is true for sure. Sometimes you start feeling spread too thin, and some 'me' time solves that.
and the kids learn to respect the parameters within which they are being cared for.
one is never too young to learn that another person needs time out space.
I have always claimed children learn to be more flexible if they have to learn different sets of rules. One for at home, one for each of their friend's homes, one for school or kindergarten.

sorry i missed you, ruby. I can relate to what you posted. After my chemo with cisplatin, I had problems spelling for almost 3 year( hence the reason i took up babble, so as to work my mind) and even now, 7 years after my first cancer, my short-term memory still suffers

I'm a type 1 diabetic. A lot of the "healthy" food really isn't. Any breakfast cereal, including muesli (except a few kinds you can get from health food shops), is barely any better than eating a bowl of sugar...

Being a Type 1 must be difficult. Fortunately, with a lot of exercise and Metformin, I do okay

not necessarily crossy, they're quite different. But a type 1 will avoid foods with a high glycemic index to avoid the blood sugar spike, a type 2 will avoid it to avoid tiring their already tired pancreas
but a type 1 doesn't have a diet like a type 2, my diabetes can't get worse per se

I grabbed my little dog (because he is a terrier and starts fights with every dog) and when I looked down and it looked up at me, I realized it was....
A freakin' bear!! If you look at my Flicker photos you will see the chair I was sitting in. It was within two feet of me, between that little bush and the railing. The next picture is the bear running away in the field.
