To bed for me, too. Spent today talking to a lawyer, two health insurance companies, a caseworker, and sent documentation to two federal agencies. Tomorrow, more of the same plus scout travvel sites for some good buys.

i'm doing ok thanks.. I wish it were the weekend already
well, those pricks in new zealand are already tasting the weekend
lol
i mean that in the nicest way, for the record
that's why I want to move there then
re get in a line is not a word? Please re7 over here.
hey DC
evening, ruru
heelo ru, dc
hi, saani
Hi saan
Gosh i have been dreaming of long beach
got your passport yet?
Probably in a month or so
that's good - so what is happening this weekend?
I am going to walla walla
work or holiday?
Work
red boxes right on time 11:05
Hate it that dr g won't fix it...it is really annoying
they seem to have eaten my last entry, again! I am hoping the work will be the good kind, and great people and not too much travel hassle for you
eh, once a day the server reboots for health, a small price.
red is it's life blood
Thx saan
Enjoy your visit there, ruru, best you can.
I am intersted in seeing vineyards
dc, remember when it used to midnight for the reboot, time stretch
time to stretch I mean
It reboots more than once dc
Lately multiple times
maybe it's in bare feet instead of boots
I think it needs a boot in the ass
!!!
I agree very frustrating. I write down all the words I find (always forget them) and enter like crazy in between the long reboots
particularly annoying on the long grids with multiple endings
Yes
That is why i like finishing before 1105
some of us don't have your word power!
have you finished?
I wish that were true...word power
Yeah a long time ago ..one g held me up
Heading to bed...good luck saanich
night ru
5 to go and they'll have to wait until tomorrow, goodnight all (all I see is red boxes)
night flosey, I'm off too - have a great day tomorrow and yahoo we might be getting some rain!
good morning all
Hi sprite and hugs :)
How was your time with your friends?
Liz! *hugs* How are you? And your husband?
I had a good time, all in all.
We're both fine and happy (but cold) to be home.
oh I can imagine, coming from such a hot place. Full of great memories though.
Must be pretty bad in the Netherlands with today's news.
Greetings Friends--love and hugs
Hi and hugs, pugs :)
hey pug *hugs* How are you today, my dear friend?
Hope you're feeling better today, pugs.
I don't follow the news, Liz, tbh.
so glad to see my friends back ---have missed you guys and where is our Rose to complete our family-lol
Iam feeling much more positive--just had a pity-party yesterday and thank you all
Malaysian plane shot down - Amsterdam -Kuala Lumpur. Many Dutch killed.
will email back to you after babble, pug :) Please don't worry about feeling down, sweetie. Perfectly normal in your situation. Would be strange if it was otherwise.
I was worried too Liz, with the news
ah, I heard something about that yesterday, yes. Incredibly sad. So many people :(
We keep thinking how lucky we are.
am very happy you and your husband are safely back home, Liz
okay Sprite
it hardly ever goes wrong with airplanes, but when it does, it is a huge disaster.
Singapore Air continued to use that route until today, despite advice to change routes.
that is criminal!
It was so amazing spending time with you sprite. You are such a lovely person.
They weren't the only airline. Changing routes uses more fuel so is expensive.
I enjoyed every minute of our afternoon, Liz. You and your husband are beautiful people.
Sprite, the book couldnt had came at a better time--thank you so much
yeah and once disaster strikes, the blame game starts.
am so glad, pugs. It will give you a bit of support through this all. You are one courageous woman.
My thoughts too!
I saved myself about six hundred dollars by doing it myself
You'll get thru all the sh*t pugs and come out stronger.
thanks guys
well done, pugs. Not easy and you did it.
alot of paper work but its done and started
*hugs pugs*
hugs back and hugs to Liz too
oh dear... the new neighbours are starting on their house... drilling, sanding, all kinds of machine noise!
I bet you are worn out are you Sprite? But did you enjoy your friends
Hugs from me too
not again!
yeah pretty tired. I did have a good time with my friends.
That would drive me mad! Hope it stops soon. Hugs in sympathy.
yeah, again, lol. Seems the powers that be are dedicated to deadening my sensitivity to noise.
oh! I may have very good news! Once the noise stops, I will make a call and see if I can find out more. Got an email from my publisher that my book is next to be translated into english!
That would be amazing - hope that works out.
me too. Seems they have struck a deal with an american book seller/club.
I'd live to read your book, so that'd be so cool.
if it works out, I will let you all know!
Hubby just walked in here and sends hugs, sprite.
*hugs* right back to him :)
:)
did we lose our pugs?
It has gone quiet!
sure did, all of a sudden, lol.
looks like a rather unkind grid to me, today. Or am I just out of training?
Me too. Ground to a halt here with 34 left. Sigh!
lol yes, and only one 7 so far
I only have 3.
good job!
And not that many 6's either!
ouch indeed... only 2 here
5 weeks out of babble is a long time.
least they could have done was welcome you with a lovely grid, lol
lots of warm winds, though
well at least it's not huge, so I'll probably finish it - if not today, tomorrow.
Have them! Is there more than one spelling?
I might finish today, but definitely not tomorrow, grin. Babble time hiccup is at 7 am for me.
yes, two spellings, both pluralized too.
Answers self - yes!
roflol, well done Liz!
32 now!
very good!
Missing a q!
I miss 2 still.
ok, now only one
Have 4 x q 5
there it is. You have to extend one of your 5s.
ok
Done! Thanks.
wtg Liz! One more grey tile!
That middle horizontal line is my bugbear today.
yeah, some ugly stuff there. I have the As and the Vs , but still missing words from the others.
I hope our pugs is ok. Not like her to drop out of chog all of a sudden.
Now have the vs. used same principle as t
Now have the vs. used same principle as t For the q!
Perhaps she fell asleep?
good job
aw that would be good. Sleep is good for her. As long as she doesn't oversleep for work.
Well, I hope she's ok.
me too
welcome home you two
Rose! Hugs :)
Good to be home - but cold!
rose! *hugs* my friend.
{{hugs}} to you both. liz thanx so much for all the sharing, hun. it was very special. sprite, your time away, a success??
a couple of humps on the road, rose, but all in all a success.
yay, sprite. just small humps, i hope.
Can't wait for you to experience England Rose - kept thinking of how much you'll enjoy it.
yes, nothing major. It was nice. And Terra had a terrific time, lol... so many rabbits there!
and you, rose, how have you been?
You should've seen my brothers dogs hunting rabbits on the common! Not that they caught any, though it seems that often they do!
*grin* to you both. can just imagine terra hurtling every which way!!
oh, dear,,,the dreaded 'how have you been?'
Lol! I avoided that one!
spill the beans, rose. How HAVE you been??? Hm???
restless legs went nuts last night. the only thing which stopped it, was endone. *sigh*. and my hips!!! so sore!!
aw sweetie :( Do you know what brought it on?
Oh Rose :(
i think it was the workout with the flippers, plus first week of 2 1/2 hour shifts. * sigh * i can't even work that long...waaahhhh!
yet, rose. Yet. You will. Sounds like you need to stabilize the flipper exercises before upping the work load.
Dare I say cut back the hours again! Your body is the most important.
i agree, sprite. a lot less on the flippers. liz, i worked in the pool for 15 minutes with flippers on monday. i have to cut that down, and gradually increase the time.
rose, my son gets restless legs when he was going thru withdrawals..not going to beleive this but he used immodium ad and it worked ..dont know if you have that brand name there..but its antidiarhea med..!
yep, baby steps, all the way, rose. It is the only way.
I do understand how desperate you are to get back to "normal"!
with the flippers there was a lot more hip movement, as i had to straight leg kick with them.
lol ivesy! How on earth did he find that out? We have imodium here, for sure.
In the UK TOO SO IM SURE YOU MUST BE ABLE TO GET IT HERE.
ives, have something similar. will check out the active ingredients. thanx for the heads up.
sorry about the caps.
there are sites that recovering addicts find sprite believe me lol.. all sorts of tips out there for them to get thru
i told him well you wont be able to poop but your legs arent restless.
ah of course. A good thing, in this case :)
yes.. a good thing...and no narcotic in it ..i dont think ..rose? what is your take on that..
a cup of fibers a day might help there
lol...true... i never had the restlesss leg prob.. he said it is terrible..
ives, it is,picture this, you are lying in bed, all nice and drowsy, about to go to sleep, then your legs start twitching and kicking and thrashing around. it's really weird.
loperamide is all there is in it.
hang on ives, just pulling up MIMS on-line
it is horrible, ivesy. You just cannot stop moving your legs. They seem to have a life of themselves. And pins and needles all over.
does sound horrible.. you get it too sprite?
Time for me to go! It's good to be back. Hugs to all.
yes, sometimes, ivesy.
*hugs* for you and your husband, Liz!
ugh.... well he brings it on himself..my sympathy for that has died...his choice
okay, ives, immodium has the same active ingredient as my gastro-stop. loperidine. it slows down peristalsis. not a narcotic.
you are totally right about that, I think, ivesy
ok thanks rose.u just never know today what has narcotics in it...an addicts dream
that is what I thought too, rose. Worth a try, lol.
he says it works...course knowing my so he prob. takes whole bottle lol
oh lol... well in that case, don't try it, rose, grinnnn. You'll never poop again!
lollol.@sprite
sure that isnt necessary but with jason he has no control.. hence the problem..
so i must say that is why i wasnt chatting for awhile.i tned to hide when he starts again.pull covers over my head so to speak
*hugs ivesy* So hard on you, his shit. Pardon my french.
yes it is..does so well and then back at it..you think going thru withdrawal. he would remember how he felt...but evil is stronger
what I have seen of withdrawal, I'd think so too... something to never ever wanna do again!
we are stronger sprite..we can fight the devil
you think that is what makes the difference?
we have taken pain pills with narcotic.. but we can resist...his tolerance is so high it doesnt effect him .when he had his surgery even morphine wasnt helping.. didnt even phase him
sounds bad :(
he likes the high.. unfortunately.. and i dont belive that will ever change..he was taking suboxone.. have you ever heard of that
let me see if we have that here
that is a drug that is presecribed to addicts to help them get off drugs.
yes, found it, we have it here as well, same name.
course an addict finds out if you take more than u are supposed to you can get a bit of a high..so they do..jason found out.. then you get kicked out of the program for abusing it.. and you go into severe withdrawals.
*sigh* So stupid.
he had to go to the meth clinic thru the veterans, for five days to get help for it..you can actually have heart attack
can I say "the idiot" without hurting your feelings?
oh yes lol.. feel free.. i call him that all the time..
lol. Well it is because he is. Am sorry he is such a worry for you, ivesy.
sprite, has anyone you know been affected by the plane crash? just watching the news is why i am asking.
sad part is sprite he had such potential.. even sadder , its become my way of life...people say cut hm out of your life... i cant do it..he is my son..
ok nuff gloom ... ! i need coffee...
rose, haven't followed the news myself. Haven't heard from anyone close. Was worried about our Liz but she is ok, thank God.
ives, it's fine, hun. we all have a need to share, and we are here to listen/help where we can.
ivesy, people have no right to tell you so... you are the only one who can truly appreciate your situation. And you have to be loyal to yourself. But I can understand it being a tough tough burden.
ty both.. you are gems..!
and tim hortons coffee is calling me..bbs.!
*hugs ivesy*
called my publisher. He is gonna email the american guys to prioritize my books :D
wow!! sprite, what good news, hun. so exciting!!
oh rose, didn't have the chance to tell you yet: they are gonna translate my books for the american market!
*wriggles with excitement* whoot!!
and my worry was about the translation, but I get to see it before it goes public and I can make changes and everything. So it will be ok.
yes, sometimes meaning is lost in the translation. when do you get to see the proofs?
dinner nearly ready. i had better go and see if help is needed, xoxox
so he is gonna ask them to take my book as soon as possible. Don't know when the proofs will be ready. Enjoy dinner, darling
hope your day is good to you, dear. will catch you at the flip.
fireflies. Bye all, have a blessed day and a peaceful night.
good morning everyone

as I head off to the PB I am hopeful there is bacon there today
bacon, tomato, mayo, toast, iced coffee in the PB today
yay and hello
Hi River
Annie have you heard from Mom lately - I miss her
No, I havent and I miss her too. I will drop her a line later.
mmmm... bacon...
I will try and private message her on FB.
crossy sniffed out the bacon
:)
come on in crossy - there is plenty
tbh, stuff has been so expensive here of late (between $5 and $6 a pound!) that I have not had any in the house for gasp! almost 2 months now.
wow - that is crazy.
I refuse to pay $5 + tax for a pound of bacon
.....considering sending a CARE package to crossy...
((mimi))
((crossy))
you have to pay tax on food?
of course
grocery store food?
our universal health care is free but we pay, trust me.
Just saw the funniest thing...one of my cats was trying to go from coffee table to couch but the table was just a bit too far away and he got stuck with front paws on couch and back ones on table...so I pushed the table closer to rescue him.
we don't pay taxes on food in the US
yes, river, we pay tax on fodd
we only pay tax on restaurant food
must be nice:)
we pay our taxes on food in other ways, riverdance. Like ag subsidies
actually i think some localities in the US do charge even on groceries. city taxes or something.
Everything is expensive, though. I was going to order a box of gingersnaps...no fancy brand...and it was $6.00!!! No gingersnaps for me.
I am sure they include taxes somewhere. It is just not added on in front of us so we are oblivious.
I am heading to Canada next week
Canadians pay a lot of taxes. It's how the government pays for the "free" health care.
Probably like those "sales" where they mark the merchandise up just before they put it on sale for 30% off.
it is. Nothing is free, but I would rather pay tax on a bag of chips that dies at the curb with no health care:)
we are taxed left, right and centre
You are right about that Mimi and so many people are oblivious to that mark up/sale thing.
some places blend in the tax so it is not listed as a seperate item
When I had the heart attack I had no insurance so now I owe the hospital $21,000.
would rather pay my taxes now than 12 later;)
or 21k
I am sure it all adds up the same.
They're not pushing to collect but if they ever do, I'll have to do a bankruptcy.
Molly--love the icon!
I think it time for breakfast.....later folks!
not sure what is better, insurance driven health care in the U.S or govt operated health care in Canada;)
but I am standing here, alive today because of it, so i will not complain too badly
6 of one, half a dozen of the other, crossy.
tc river
basically it depends if you're lucky or unlucky. if you're lucky enough not to have any major health problems ever, you'd prefer the US.
My Obamacare insurance now is quite affordable since I qualify for the government subsidy. For both medical and dental it's only $140 a month with $5 copays.
or lucky enough to be super rich
spin the wheel and take yer chances
I am glad that you have some affordable coverage now, mimi:)
Before the heart attack I hadn't been to a doctor in 4 years.
that is crazy
If i would of had to wait, my first cancer would of killed me
have*
Well...I wasn't sick! But now I need to get this body cared for...I think I may be in congestive heart failure so must do something.
that doesn't sound good
You are lucky Mimi. I know a lot of people who have not been so fortunate with "that" health care.
now, none of that mimi. order up a nice fresh heart for yourself:)
It's the pendulum finally swinging back the other way, Molly. I had such bad luck for so long, I think I'm due some good.
yaaa for mimi!
CHF actually sounds worse than it is in some ways. It depends on severity. One can live quite a long time with it if it is managed correctly. It's worse, of course, if one is elderly. I'm not quite there yet!
looked at your house again, mimi. it seems so HUGE to me. Massive even. Guess I am too used to dealing with 900-1200 sq feet:)
what is it exactly mimi?
chronic heart failure?
congestive
It's only a bit over 1600 sq. ft., crossy, so not that large. It's the view that really gets me. But I'm not optimistic that I can qualify. We shall see.
yes, congestive.
it does have a killer view
are you saying her view is causing her heart problems
no, we are speaking of something else, joseph lol
i know it was a joke
getting out of the oven she is in now can only help I am sure
a beautiful, sunny 18c here today, mimi:)
aha i looked it up
Heart failure does not mean the heart has stopped working. Rather, it means that the heart's pumping power is weaker than normal. With heart failure, blood moves through the heart and body at a slower rate, and pressure in the heart increases. As a result, the heart cannot pump enough oxygen and nutrients to meet the body's needs. The chambers of the heart may respond by stretching to hold more blood to pump through the body or by becoming stiff and thickened. This helps to keep the blood moving, but the heart muscle walls may eventually weaken and become unable to pump as efficiently. As a result, the kidneys may respond by causing the body to retain fluid (water) and salt. If fluid builds up in the arms, legs, ankles, feet, lungs, or other organs, the body becomes congested, and congestive heart failure is the term used to describe the condition.
64f that is for those who need a conversion;)
there ya go. ty for the info, joseph
jj, my mother had CHF. She had rheumatic fever as a child and CHF as a result
:(
:(
i kepe wanting green but it's just not there is it
Well, I have quite a few of the symptoms and since they are getting worse, I must attend to it. Have considerably changed my diet to improve the coronary artery disease but cardiologist says I have permanent heart damage and I do keep going in and out of afib, so.........
and evert
my father had hemophilous (sp?) influenza and then developed CHF
what like the tennis player
:)
he had to watch his salt intake and tsake medication - never had any afib symptoms
Speaking of diet, need to get some breakfast. Not to worry, folks...I'm a tough old broad and will be fine. Later and hugs all around.
He probably didn't have a heart attack, teach...that's what damaged mine.
Thus the afib. OK...brekkies. poink!
no, he never had a hert attack - my mother had the heart problems

sammy that is possible
yeah.. Sammy.. we should have steroid screening here too
I was a huge fan of his and regrt what happened and how they've expunged his name and all, but it's still magnifique!
I could use some steroids or EPO myself
i think its amazng anyone can ride a bike for a long distance of any kind without "help" not that i would suggest using anything to do so as i think what he did was shocking and horrible
he lost more then he gained thats for sure
I think that Tour riders have always doped, even bak in the 20's. Just different drugs and different testing. He was just more systematic and denied it too long. His teammates ratted him out
anyone have the no 6-7, please?

OMG just watched "the making of" the new James Brown movie . . . can't wait!!! The actor who plays him is just fabulous!
I've been waiting for Chadwick Boseman to get his big break and this is it. He was born to play James Brown.
And Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer make it a must see for me
Good afternoon, Everyone. (Looks pretty quiet here right now)
Hi Nef.
Hi Molly. How are you?
My lips are above the water level. And you?
Well, the weatherman said yesterday that we were entering the longest dry period this year (rain isn't predicted again until Tuesday)
yes, molly -- incredible cast!! :-)
I take it that you are getting lots of rain now?
we finally got some good rain and overnight FORTY magic lilies popped up in my flowerbeds!! LOL
NICE, Une!
yes!! :-)
No Nef, "my lips are above the water level" means...um...I'm keeping on top of things...
The Magical Garden Of Une
You haven't had much rain down there? This has been the wettest year recorded yet.
Ahh, Molly. Once again my age shows and I'm entirely out of it since I don't know the current slang.
some were planted here over 50 yrs ago . . . some came from my mother's garden . . . some from my grandmother's . . . and some I actually ordered and planted because i love them so! LOL
What kinds of lilies and what color, Une?
It is astonishing how fast plants can grow when conditions are right.
My day lilies are all just starting to bloom now (big, beautiful orange ones
magic lilies . . . pink . . . also called popup lilies, pink ladies, squamagiera . . . they're so wonderful -- come back year after year . . . multiply . . . last a LONG time as a cut flower . . . and are fragrant :-)
I love lilies in the garden but cut ones remind me of funerals, especially white ones
when my mom died 3 years ago, one of her caregivers who's also a good friend of mine, went out and dug up lilies for HOURS and HOURS
jaxx, i agree -- you're talking about Easter lilies -- yes, they remind me of funerals too
that is, her caregiver AND I dug for hours and hours . . . whew . . . the bulbs are just huge and were very deep
hi, all
Are those the ones like arrowheads with the stamen in the middle?
When I was in high school I worked in a nursing home, and at Easter we'd have to go and take the Easter lilies out of all the rooms and put them in the hallway. The smell was over-powering
Stargazer lillies are my favourite.
Une, I have Asian lilies, they are really pretty. Not as pretty as my hibiscus though.
You can tell I am not a gardener!
(I'm not fond of Easter lilies either since then; they always remind me of that!)
Hi, soodle.
I googled those squamagiera lilies, Une, they are very pretty
Hi Flower People. :-)
Then there's the pollen which escapes and stains everything. Lilies are best kept in the garden
And I've had some Asian lilies, but the squirrels dug those up and ate thenm the 2nd year we had them (why just those and not the wild day lilies, I'm not sure)
Hey, Soodle! How are you?
Possibly the day lily bulbs are poisonous. They don't touch the day lilies in our garden either
jaxx, I was always told that if you bring lilies in, you should remove the stamina with the yellow pollen on them.
Hello all. Just starting here in the great Northwest. Glad to see you all.
i as well, nef.
STAMIN! (autocorrect is a PIA)
<--- Mrs Scrooge. One of the best freebees one can get is the aroma as you walk past a flower shop. I have been known to 'saunter' up and down the same street many times, just inhaling as I pass the flower shop!
Hi, Stidgmere. i have been looking for your catlett family.
Hi stidg and TO!
LOL, Soodle. :-)
Thank you jaxx. My daughter knows more about the history than I do but I tag along and it is fun to see some of the views our ancestors enjoyed.
The earliest mention in the Canterbury district was 1608
I haunt coffee shops for the smell.
Can't do lillies. The odor makes my skin itch.
They seemed to like marrying their kinfolk, cousins i guess.
I've been known to buy 1 flower with the best fragrance and enjoy it that way
<<<<<< ok here's what my lilies look like :-)
I have also been known to haunt bars and pubs, but that's another story.....
Hmm that seems late for Canterbury but still a long time past. You have been researching, that is very kind.
Hi again
My mother always said gladiolus were funeral flowers.
Une, they are Fabulous! I can almost smell them from here.
mine too, Molly! LOL
:-D
I've noticed that about the "olden days" people married those who lived nearby. Usually cousins.
Those are gorgeous, Une! WOW!
I found a William catlett in the 1900 us census who had a mother and father born in England. his wife was Addie and he owned his own farm and could read and write.
Those are lovely lillies, so profuse.
Beautiful Une, you really do have a magic garden. Don't let the pups pee on it. : D
when they're profuse like this year, it's so much fun to share with friends!
I don't know if that would be early enough for our Catletts. I'll make a ntoe of that. ty
Molly, i have never heard that of gladioli. For the French it is chrysanthemums that are funeral flowers.
Glads are the funeral flowers here; maybe it's a midwestern or U.S. thing?
For the Irish, a rose attached to a bottle of Jameson will do.
He was 40 and his wife was 35 so probably they are not early settlers but may well be related.
jaxx, i learned that the hard way! When i lived in france as a student, I gave a big pot of mums to my boyfriend's mom who was HORRIFIED! LOL
Molly LOL
But Molly, the bottles would all be empty!
I once got a D- for an essay that began Dans the Jardin de Luxembourg are chrysnthemums. That is how I know about chrysants and the French. lol
That's the point, Nef
jaxx LOL
Then they can put the roses in the bottles as vases
indeed! :-)
I prefer to put one between my teeth, but that is an entirely different story
I used to work for a homeless shelter in Dublin many years ago. One dark, wintry, rainy November night, we were following up on a leaflet drop, seeking non-perishable foodstuffs. I was wet, tired and disheartened. I called to a door, and the lady of the house invited me in. The first thing she said to me was 'Why are there white roses all around your head?' I thought she was bonkers. She went on to tell me that 'Elizabeth' was with me, surrounded by white roses. She told me loads of other stuff as well, but when I went home & told my mother what had happened, she nearly died. HER mother, who had died when my Mom was 15, was called Elizabeth. She knew that she was dying, and had requested white roses at her funeral. I never knew that.
The irish certainly know how to throw a fantastic wake.
The Aunt who raised me loved both mums and and Easter Lilies. I always gave her an Easter lily for Easter; so this year my daughter gave me one! She thought I did it because *I* liked them! I had to gently inform her about my dislike of them later (I was very gracious though when she gave it to me)
Soodle, what a an amazing story . . .
Soodle has gone Crosshair on us. But that is a fabulous story.
The Irish have second sight. have you tried to exercise yours, soodle?
What was really incredible was that I did not seek this person out. I happened upon her totally by accident. She also told me that I would marry a man who had been adopted as a baby (true) and that I would have 3 blonde-haired boys (untrue).
I'd pull up a chair next to the fire and listen to Soodle tell stories all night long.
What a wonderful story, Soodle! It must have spooked both your Mom and you!
me too!
Not all the Irish have second sight. Some just seem to have it after a few pints.
Everyone has a guardian 'Angel'. Soodle's is her grandmother.
At the risk of boring you all, she also said that she saw a close relation of mine, with red hair, on a yacht. I totally pooh-poohed that, but, guess what? My younger, red-haired brother had just that evening got a job as a bar-boy in a local bar called....The Yacht!
LOL molly
Oh, lucky Soodle. I think my Guardian Angel is a drunken ancestor of mine.
hi nef
have you seen them? My mother had a lady in a Victorian style brown dress that stood at the end of her bed in times of crisis
back in a bit . . .
i am distracted, phone, sorry
wow, jaxx . . .
Well, I'd love to stay and chat now that the chog woke up and is so lively; but a friend called and needs some help (she's single & sick; I spent the night in the E.R. with her); so I'll BBL
That was all of 30+ years ago. I still cannot pass a flower stand with white roses, without buying a bunch. I genuinely believe that my maternal grandmother is with me, despite never having met her.
nice story. sometimes there are people who do see tihings, i believe.
*Gets out the Ouija board*
Molly would say definitely after a few jars
lol yes she would!
I swear I have 2 Guardian Angels: 1 is my mom and the other is a very old lady with a long white braid (possibly my great grandmother, according to my Aunt). And, yes, I'm Irish too
Oh, no. Don't do that. they can be so dangerous
*Passes around shots of poteen*
ty, we will all be having visions shortly.
I went through a phase when a teenager and what went on frightened me so much that I smashed the glass and have never used one since
Especially after shots of Poteen!
This is like a slumber party. I love it when the "evil Ouija board" stories kick up.
I need a double, please, Molly. It's a long time since I told the story of that random lady I met, and I have goose bumps as I type. Sláinte.
Like soodle then, nef
Not so funny, molly, when you are involved in it, believe me
EErie, soodle, granted, but clearly your grandmother is at your side.
*Pours a double for Soodle and gets out the crystal ball and the tarot cards*
I thought your story of the white roses was very nice, soodles:)
I'm totally OK with benign, loving ancestors haunting me. In fact I welcome them.
Ancestors don't haunt you. They just walk with you in places you can't see.
That's better. I have inherited my mother-in-law's crystal ball and her tarot cards. I always thought she was an old witch. lol
Absolutely true story, Cross! And (((Hi)))
Hi, crossy
And, to clarify, Irish as I am, thanks be to God, I don't see, or hear or have any truck at all with them on 'the other side'!!!!
howdy jaxx:)
No, you are just "the other lot" : D
how is soodles this fine evening?
In fact, it's the living I fear. Not the dead!!!!
We are vying with each other with ghostly goings on. Soodle will be having nightmares if we keep on so perhaps we should change the subject. I don't like this grid
*Hopes to not hear the wail of the banshee tonight*
Molly, you are a bad lady. And Cross, I was the finest until I recalled that spooky story. Now I'm a bit freaked. Sheesh!
Oh, poor little Soodle. Time for happy fun talk. *Puts on It's A Small World After All*
I told you so. have you any Irish Whiskey left by your children? Pour yourself a double and relax
You are all so wonderful. I am supposed to be cooking dinner. Instead I am mesmerized by this conversation.
My friend just called back; she said she's going to take a nap and I should come over in about an hour or 2 so I can walk her dogs this evening too. (It's too early to walk them right now she says.) I was heading out the door and the phone rang… I'm glad I hadn't left yet! :-)
Pleased to entertain you, westford.
How fitting that today is our daughter Erin's 45th birthday.
yes, soodles, pour yourself three fingers of Tullamore Dew and put on some good music
Hi crossy and westford.
Aww...., she's still a babby
howdy,nef
No whiskey. I don't drink the stuff anyway. BUT! My colleague who won about 4 grand on the lottery a couple of weeks ago arrived into the office today and plonked a bag on my desk, and in that bag was 4 bottles of plonk!!!! Way Hey
there ya go!
Google July 18th 1969. She was born a little after 2 in the morning..about the same time a girl named Mary Jo drowned.
I'm a bad lady. That's pretty funny, all things considered.
There, indirectlt you won the lottery.
indirectly even
hi nef and everyone. Sorry to just jump in.
howdy, westford
The one in America that was involved with the late Edward kennedy?
Ah Westford, Happy birthday to your Erin. And may I compliment you on your wonderful choice of names 45 years ago! :-)
west, if you waited for a pause you'd never get in with this crowd! Jumping in IS the correct way to join (at least that's my feelings)
I had to refer to the UK/American translator to figure out what plonk was.
A poetical Ireland, no less
thanks Soodle. I will always be Irish at heart
and yes the one involved with Ted Kennedy
Your daughter has been alive as long as I will have been married this December
Erin was aptly named. She is fey.
Chappaquiick. The Chaps acquitted. It sounds better if you say it out loud.
you mean bad driving westie?
that was such a sad event..Mary Jo , not Erin's birth
And as it is said...'tis no crime not to be Irish. Just a terrible, terrible shame.
and…I watched the moon landing from my hospital bed..made the doc promise I could
Hi, Ru. Westford, it was a good job you jumped in when you did. between Ru and molly, you wouldn't have stood a chance - only joking
Could be worse, Molls. You could be one of the other lot.
I love laughter therefore I love Molly and Ruru
My mom remembers the day when I was born very well
The Doctor "slapped" her when I came out :D
Oh crap, water right out the nose.
Exactly, they make the party sing
See what i mean. At least you haven't wasted the poteen, molly
Thank you West, nice comments are appreciated.
the student nurse passed out when I was born according to my mother
Poteen had nothing to do with that.
I have to go. I think I will toast all of you with some Irish tonight.
*Raises a glass to West*
I'll toast you westie.. i'm going to a party tonight wooo hooo
what put the water out your nose Molls?
Hope you enjoy yourself, ru, and don't suffer too much in the morning.
I have enjoyed the chat tonight. thanks all but now I am off to my bed. Night all
hope not.. good night jaxx
Night, ru
Whoa!!!!! Ruru has announced he is going to a party tonight, and nobody has demanded details???? Whats wrong with you people? Ruru! Where is the party? What is the occasion? Who are you going with? How long will you be there (OK scratch the last question, I'm not your mother)....
Nite Jaxx. Sleep well.
not saying... it will just get me in trouble with certain people :D
I have a limo driver.. donated by the host
If we demand details from Ru, does that mean we get details about your dates mentioned but not expounded upon, Soodle?
<--- Jaw dropped. Limo driver!!!
yes. yes yes.. we want all the surly details soodle
Molly. I regret to inform you that stories of soothsayers from 30 + years ago make more interesting reading than today's dates. :-(
not soothing now huh soodle?
Oh Soodle, quit pretending that you don't limo around to parties on the weekend.
gunna go now :D
Ru, Could you wave your hand out the window of the limo, and say under your breath..'This is for Soodle'? Thanks!
I think I'll email DrGod and change my Babble name to Vicarious.
Well, that was a conversation stopper. Clearly everyone (except me) has hopped into the limo with Ruru. I'll just wander off to bed, on my own, and think of of everybody having fun in the limo. Sob.
Gets out tissues and another bottle of PLONK for Soodle.
Snuffle. Hiccup.snuffle
Your life was not meant to be lived vicariously. If you do that you will miss all the gems put down right in front of you. *Old sage advice*
True, Molls. I'm hovering between real life and vicariousness at the moment. I was out for dinner earlier with a chap who works in my building. Really nice guy. But still very raw from a recent marital breakup. And as I listened to him, it dawned on me that I really don't NEED to hear about other people's misfortunes. I have plenty of my own. So I told him Good Night and I fecked off homed,
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!! A volume of the first book printed in the English language( the King or Queens's English I am assuming) and one of 18 surviving copies , was auctioned off recently to the tune of just over one million pounds! http://tinyurl.com/l5nafze
((crossy)) I just put two puzzles on Jigidi..they indicate my longing for a storm...sigh. Now I'm gone.
I shall check them out mimi. have a good night
I enjoyed the chat this evening, and I apologise if I hogged the chat with my tales of weird goings on. Thanks for your patience :-/

It wouldn't be so bad, Nef, if the 98F day temp wasn't accompanied by 50+% humidity
yeah, this week we had some temps in the am of 62 degrees with 78% humidity. (and then it rained, so the humidity dropped
