that's a long time, dear. i am guessing a lot of your angst is coming from seeing your spouse fall apart before your eyes. that is very hard to deal with. have you looked for a support group on-line? for other spouses whose spouse's memory has started to fail?
He was the smartest man I'd ever known when we met aND we became best friends. He was not yet 60 and dashing etc.
we all expect our other half to be around to take care of us....sadly that is not always the case.

I have a health question: yesterday, he had an off-and-on pain about where his heart might be (lol). It wasn't as piercing as I think angina is and there was no shortness of breath or other pain. Could it be a gas pang that high?
it would appear i have caught puglet's cold. have been sneezing all day, and my nose and feet have exchanged functions...my nose is running...lol

hmmm, next time ask him if it is like a heavy weight on his chest. that is the best description of an heart attack. it could be gas....it could also be referred pain from a pinched nerve in his shoulder/neck.
When he had his heart attack, a few years ago, he had no pain, just couldn't breathe
His lung were filling up with fluid and I could hear it
and then again, it could be arthritis in his xiphisternum...

What is most interesting is watching the study and work habit differences between the youngster group and the mature student group. The mature student is usually out of the habit of school work and studying so, they tend to cram and obsess and sweat the details of every paper, whereas the younger student is fresh out of high school and is used to it, so they tend to procrastinate and wait right till the last second before an assignment is due to start working on it

I have, for the last hour, been hard at it, hacking and slashing paragraphs here, and ill-fitting sentences here, omitting in one spit and adding to another, until it seems like I must have added an entire new chapter worth of work. However, when I get to the end of the portion being edited the word count has changed by exactly two words lol!

I am afraid I have fallen into the writers trap of editing a portion of the work before the entire thing has been put on paper. After this edit of the first protion , I must get back to finishing the entire thing.
The art of the writing itself is amazing though, teach, I am god and this is my little world:)

class is ancient borad games (learn to play Achi, Nine Mens Morris, Mancala, and Senet)
Go Is pretty old game and very interesting as well
this is a class for elementary age kids and these are easier games to learn, but still require thinking through a strategy
my mancala board actually have a Go board on the bavck
I find as we spend more and more time with our electronic devices, that a board game with true depth of play is more attractive for those idle times when you need to refresh your mind and have fun playing games with others
I've heard of Go, but not those other games.
talk with the kids about different types of games and how these are require planning ahead, thinking about offense and defense, problem solving

Mancala is probably the most common of them - available for sale in most stores - Senet is an ancient Egyptian game, Achi is from Africa and similar to Nine Mens Morris (which is my favorite) - you can find all but Achi to play online - information about all is online

There had been a delay of four weeks between death and burial which was rather odd. She died in a nursing home so there wouldn't have been an autopsy.
Paul proceeded to grill the relatives as to why there had been the delay and then went and phoned another friend with medical connections and told her Daphne had been murdered.
In this neck of the woods, unless a doctor can certify the cause of death, an autopsy is guaranteed.
He had then verbally abused my sister because she wouldn't support him. He can be really nasty and for the past six months has been awful to live with. I think he is either going mad or has a tumour of his own.
With everything that was wrong with her, and she was eighty six, that it wasn't murder but natural causes.
I had a lovely visit with my Dad this afternoon. We ate ice-cream, chatted, laughed and even sang a couple of songs. My dad couldn't remember the words of a particular song, so, I went on my iphone and googled the lyrics. He was blown away that my little hand held phone couold throw up long forgotten song words. It was a really lovely experience. Except, now, he wants an iphone for himself!!

My Dad is 86. A lot of the time, he is away with the fairies. This afternoon, he was pretty with-it. I brought him a bottle of wine, half of which he drank as I sat there!! He was mellow, content and a joy to be with.

Jaxx, I would try to impress upon Paul that if there was anything sinister going on, all will be revealed at the inquest. The death of anybody - young or old - can bring out strange emotions in people, as I'm sure you know. And yes, the afternoon I spend with my Dad today was a blessing.

A month ago, soodle, it was a baby seagull. This baby robin was found in the road by my granddaughter. She was worried he'd get run over so he arrived here held in her hand. My husband is a frustrated zoo keeper. he had a job at the local zoo when he was 14 but his father's fishing partner died suddenly and Nigel had to take his place salmon fishing
Right outside my office windwo, a pair of swallows built a nest. A remarkable construction of mud and sticks etc. In the past few days, the baby birds' heads have started popping up over the the brow of the nest, with their beaks agape, waiting for food. I hope to be lucky enough to witness their first flight.

LOL @ frusstrated zookeeper!. My ex would have brought home a giraffe if possibloe. We have had a Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pig, called PorkySpice, pet lambs, a goat, ferrets, calves, kittens and countless dogs. Dr Doolittle would feel threatened.
We currently have a senegal parrot, a Kakariki, the robin, 8 hens. We used to have dogs, cats, canaries and two aviaries but as they die we don't replace them.

Just stay over...short drive from the White Mountains to VT depending on where you are going to go.

When my ex stops by with our old dog, I cant even let her in and it breaks my heart but it is what it is. They are great company for me and I do love them.

I did not get another dog because I want my independence to stay out after work if I want or go away for a weekend. My kids are not always here. Cats are perfect for that. It is the first time I have ever had cats and I do love them. Not the same as a dog though!

That is awesome. Whoohooo to our kids! Sarah is a wedding photographer (her passion.) She has been second shooter for several different photographers in the area and has already shot several of her own weddings, engagement shoots, maternity shoots etc.
From June to Nov she had 18 weddings scheduled....3 of her own.
And now her fav photographer is so busy she may be employing her as her back (Associate photographer) up if the client will accept it!
