The Gulf War 20 years ago was much more scary, for fear of chemical warheads on the rockets. Now it is nerve wracking the closer you live to Gaza. The kibbutzim are fairly empty -- kids have been moved elsewhere to relieve them from the constant bombardment and continual living in bomb shelters. We in Tel Aviv are living a fairlynormal life with the daily boom or two.

it is comparable to what happened when I left at my last employer. They are only looking at the money. And they use the fact that you are emotional about things against you. Because they couldn't care less.

In your situation Rose, I would be doing some calculations on how much I want to 'go away'...ie the rest of your normal working life and any rehabilitation costs. You may not get a disability pension until all your (and hubbys) savings are gone anyway

It seems to me that you are inwardly sure that you won't be going back. Once you get over the naturally emotional response to that fact, and with the help of some-one from the union - and your lawyer - you can be quite cold-hearted about these meetings. And probably come out with a decent termination pay.

I do imagine the payout they will offer will recognise her years of work and the pay level she is on now. Roses Union and her Lawyer would certainly be demanding that. Not quite the same situiation but redundancies here are usually based around these things are pretty much normal business practice here.

it is an awsome file format for books and libraries that uses little room on your reader
for example, Microsoft uses a Lit. format that takes twice the room
I can buy through Amazon, borrow from a library or a friend can loan one to me. When I finish reading a book, I remove it from the device and put it in the cloud. It is always there for me to reread but does not use up space on the device.
and pdf format is best for books with pictures, graphs and charts

He is great if we have people over. He travels in the car well. Is doing great on leash walking...just until we see another dog.
If anything, I am to blame. I got laid up with my sciatica and then broke my toe. He has barely been on any walks in quite a few weeks. We have him run in the yard and play frisbee, but no where near the level of activity he needs.
Mine are bad when they are on a leash and see other dogs. Better off leash. I would try a "Gentle Leader". Very elpful for me
I don't know how you do it Car. That is a lot of people/critters to take care of. Kind of leaves a void in the "taking care of you" place.
That's why I am hoping this doggy place would be good for him and then we can begin a new routine when I get back.
I will call them tomorrow and make a visit appointment.
I won't know until we try.

I am glad Frank is home and there are not new posts all the time. I take it to mean that things are settling down a bit which is alwayys good.
yes, things are pretty quiet for the moment; I worry that Frank is not eating much but we will see what the doctor says - he has blood tests tomorrow and then a follow-up with the surgeon on Thursday

It must be so hard for you Sue to see him suffer so much. It is reasonable to be wiped out but even standing up and sitting back down a couple of times might get things moving better
yes - he walked around the block with me and the dogs a few days ago, I should get him to do it again
the whole block is a huge accomplishment! But perhaps too much too soon. Maybe aim for the corner and back every day for a bit until he gets his strength back

It takes a while to get the general anaesthetic out of your system too. I was shocked to find that the effort going from one end of my little house to the other end could have me sweating and exhausted.
