I am just writing them down on paper to enter later
no it doesn't...
no it doesn't...
At this rate, it will take 24 hours to finish ..
is this slow-mo babble? did I link to something else?
welcome to the slow dimension
Back tomorrow, book time, or a Star Trek episode, this is driving me nuts, goodnight!
it's soodle's grid today
do you think we are fixed now?
working well for me so far, but I just now got here, only a handful of words in.

still here? going nuts looking for the lone E in the last column, can you help?
eg 4
well, can anyone help, I should have said - and I mean the top one, sorry - forgot the other one, lol
forever
have that one, must have been off the one to the left of it
or es 5/10 a ladies name...
2 forever words et 7 and et 6
the 6 letter forever uses the one in the last column, I think
I about went nuts with the other forever, and ladies names, and invested words, and then I fell into it!
aha, it was the et6, you are right - I had the 7 - so thanks, helens, and you too, Dee. :)
invested words - don't want to send everybody off hunting for financial terminology!
yqw I am awful at figuring out where multiples start...unless I have just entered it
Inventing words is fun, but it doesn't seem to advance the word list.
Yesterday's grid, I was hunting like mad for a word for one tile - and eventually went on to something else. Much later noticed I had used that tile - still have no idea which word it was!
been there and done that also, haha! :)
179 left - going cross-eyed - I'm going to stop till morning. Night all.
night, sleep well.
hello everyone - wasn't coming in tonight, but couldn't sleep
howdy, nan
just trying to reach halfway, nbt, nbs - so far have the last two, need about 15 or 16 more for half. then I'm off to bed.
phantom: glorifier
oh, that's a good one - I think I see it now, too, lol!
sorry rbud - didn't mean to push you off track too
no problem, it's not as bad as a song you can't stop humming, haha! :)
I think I won't look at the chat anymore -- in case you give an example of that!
but it did find me two words I didn't have before, thanks!
oh that's okay then - it did sort of leave a clue or two behind

for crying out loud -- I don't believe I just spent futile minutes searching for a reason "soodle" wasn't acceptable in the grid. Just goes to show you which is the game and which is the reality.
And in she flounces, wearing her tiara, bestowing calming vibes to JWR. Lol
Oh, THERE you are. I knew it!
:-)
I bow to your reality.
Waves hand & benignly acknowledges the lesser mortals.
Oh. Are there more than one of us?
Look! How many chances do I get to wear a tiara? I'm making the most of this.... Imagining hordes of adoring Babblers, stunned into silence by my very presence.
O, I should be your humble servant, I know -- but the vision of you sitting at the computer with a tiara on your head gives me the giggles.
A tiara, an elderly dressing gown & fluffy slippers. Very regal!
All on your head>?
My head's not THAT big! Anyway, I have duties to attend to. Royal blessings on you, Jwr. Poof
Silly time. Listen! While you have 21 more hours to rule, I think you should make some royal edicts. There should be, for instance, a word for a group of Babblers, like a pod of whales ... a sedge of bitterns ... a gaggle of geese ...
A dictionary of Babblers?
Oh, dear. She's gone. If anyone else is here (before I go poof myself), what do you think about a gridlock of babblers?
Ah - still about? Dictionary can apply to too many games -- scrabble, for one.
Actually, a blob of babblers makes a really good tongue-twister.
cooee and g'day from me
Howdy granny. What's the good word?
all good at the moment, thanx. and you?
about to retire. I stayed a bit over talking to Soodle - she's in the grid tonite and I spent a sillily amount of time trying to figure out that it wasn't an acceptable word.
silly
i know, i kept missing the past tenses....very frustrating
What past ten.... just kidding. Have fun - it's a nice biggie. I'm poofin' along.
we took 3 of our grandkiddies out for the day. it is currently still school hols.
Are they easy to entertain?
they are exhausting. we went by a steam train up to a local park, an houts ride
ugh...hours
once there lunch was first thing on the agenda, then a swim in the paddle pool. tried for the paddle boats, but we didn't have enough fit adults, plus young claudia didn't pass the height test...lol
how old are they, granny?
blake is 14, deacon is 6, claudia is 4
yipes. I would think that's an impossible task, considering the differences in interests, especially at Blake's age.
then we drove to the next carpark which had to really great playgrounds for them. of course all that activity made them hungry again, so a visit to macca's for icecream and drinks.
blake is the loveliest kid. and i am pretty sure he had as good a time as the two little ones.
sweets know no age limit
That's so nice to hear, about Blake. I was just thinking, though, can you imagine what life would be like if the kids didn't go to school ever?
when we got them back home, their mum looked so rested, so it was worth it.
Good on you (is that the right phrase?) -- a day off can make so much difference. ... just the quiet ...
she still had the 18 month old at home, but he is such an easy child to look after.
It still had to make a huge difference. Be careful of your own health now, rose. These excursions can be very wearing.
lol....you got that right. i think/hope i sleep tonight.
You will. And not, I hope, "like a baby" (whoever thought up that one never had a child in the house).
*giggle* putting on my jammies as we are talking, hence the slight delays.
Sleep tight, rose. I'm getting back to work myself - more grid later. Bye.
bye, jwr.
No oodle. Most disappointed
good morning. Nice biggie!
and no reindeer either. Bummer.
relog not valid? Ugh. Enable.
or arnold. Sort of knew he wasn't real anyway.
true, dat. Hi Dachef :D
good morning everyone:)
hiya crosyy :)
whoot!! {{hugs}} sprite. just sent you an email as i thought i was gonna miss you tonight.
seems to be more phantoms and non-words than real ones in this grid so far.
g'day crossy, dachef
*hugs rose* Didn't sleep till 4 am again, and had to be up very early to make sure Tim was up... and then felt so rotten I went back to bed. So sorry darling.
np's sweetie. how do you feel now?
I agree, Dachef. It is not flowing here.
slightly better, rose, but still ti5. Must go shopping and cooking in a while, not looking forward to it.
rose, what is macca?
macdonald's
oh! *facepalm* how stupid of me
so... right now you are up because you can't lie down, and you want to lie down because you can't stay up?
dearest, going to get meds ready.
ok
but i love your analyses of my problem.....col
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!! The Ferrero Company uses 1/4 of the harvest hazelnuts available worldwide just to make Nutella.
yay for nutella!
been there, done that, rose, lol. A rather rotten state to be in.
hopefully somewhat sweetened by the memory of your outing with the grandkids. Some things are worth the agony afterwards.
crossy.... do you have a super quick and easy recipe for me for dinner tonight? It is just my love and me, and son will eat later in the evening, warmed up.
thanks to rose I do have allspice and 5spice!
how about a fast home made chicken cordon bleu?
how does that work?
Give me 5 and I will type it out for you
awesome! Thanks *hugs*
and back until meds kick in...
good girl rose :) *healing vibes for abused rosebody*
i have extra magnesium on bedside table, in case. oh and i didn't tell you, my gag reflex has gone to a whole new level. i can't bear the foam of the toothpaste, and for nearly a week, taking some of my tabs has to be between gags.
rose, try having one tab in your mouth, then drink a large glass of water in big gulps, trying to ignore the tab. It will go down easier that way.
darling, that's what i am doing, but just the thought of the tablet and i start gagging. it's so frustrating.
brushing my teeth always makes me gag. But I don't have trouble taking pills, thank the go4.
very frustrating indeed. :(
hmmm, just had a thought. i wonder if i have the radio on or a cd playing, it will take my mind off what i am trying to do.
ok sprite, can you give me you email addy. I do not think they want me to fill the chog with it:)
do you two not have each others email addy? would you like me to connect you?
I find that when the pill and water is in my mouth, I tip my head to one side (as if trying to touch ear to shoulder) and the pill disappears quickly - as it doesn't have to negotiate the dangly bit in the throat which can cause the gag reflex ...
nice hint, thanx chessy
good one, Chessy
we do, rose, but crossy keeps losing mine, lol
Hope it helps - useful for kids too who have troube taking pills
crossy: spriteweb at upcmail dot nl
col.....crossy!!!
just send me an email then sprite and i will fire it to you as an attachment
kk
will do!
*trouble*
emails sent to crossy and rose
ok, it is sent. Hope you like it. it is very quick and easy to make, and your better half will think you slaved for hours to make it:)
awesome! That is what I need :D
ta much, sprite....strange that was what i was thinking....will work on it.
I like to serve that with some nice long grain wild rice and a small stuffed potato
sounds good to me, crossy! And what do you do for veggies?
rice OR stuffed tater
for veggie i usually do brussel sprouts or some nice herbed and spiced steamed green beans
ok. Thanks muchly, crossy :)
np:))
*hugs rose*
doing the stuffed tater works well because you can bake them at the same time the chicken is in the oven
and what do you stuff them with? I am a total cook noob, remember? :)
Hello all.
hi sukee :D
i am getting sleepy, i am getting sleepy. * yaaaaawn *
sleep well, rose. I hope you'll be able to sleep through the night.
g'day sukee, it wasn't your entrance that caused that. i have had a too busy day.
Take care
night-night sprite. praying you get through the day, and have a good night yourself. xoxox
* sigh * and poof
bye sweetie *hugs*
sorry, you bake microwave the taters for 3 minues each side on high, then bake for 15 minutes. take them out and cut them in half. Scoop out each half and put the tater meat in bowl. mash and add herbs and spices such as dill, chives, onions or what ever you like. spoon mashed tater back into the tater halfs and coat with some shredded cheese. Place on baking tray and bake for 5 minutes at 425f
Love double baked potatoes
awesome. Thanks again, crossy. Gourmet meal!
they are delish:)
I microwave them for 3 minutes a side first so they only take 15 min in oven
That way they are done same time as chicken:))
our microwave just died this week :(
then put the taters in half an hour before the chicken
great :)
godot still isnt in enable. Somebody go tell Estragon.
or go with the wild rice if you prefer:)
Enable is evil
enable is such a philistine!
I always try 'enfer'. But that is french.
i am always trying to use "stee"
it is old english that enable chooses not to understand
sounds like irish for stay, lol
those potatoes are awesome. I do the same but add bacon (cos bacon should be in every recipe ever).
I love bacon
I adore it as some of you know:))) but it has gotten too expensive here
Bacon sandwiches: only known cure for vegetarianism.
I refise to pay 6 dollars for 3/4 of a pound(375g) of bacon!
Bacon has converted more vegans than any other food:))
bacon is food of the go4
I have to eat soft food until Monday. Bacon talk is torture :)
aw poor sukee! Homemade applesauce then, with cinnamon.
poor sukee... you obviously have never had bacon pate or a bacon smoothie lol
I managed to eat macaroni and cheese yesterday :)
wow, progress.
For supper I had soup...
I may lose weight this weekend :)
ma
ma
macaroni and cheese - add bacon. Even better.
whoops. sorry. don't know what happened there.
cut it in teensy-tiny pieces... just for the taste :)
Bacon bits :)
see: bacon. Always bacon.
crossy, after microwaving the taters, do they go on the furnace or in the oven? And when you put the chicken in the oven, do I need to put water in the pan beneath the rack?
Woo hoo, 152 words found and blacked out my first tile.
wtg sukee!
no, no water in the rack
and put the taters in oven after the microwave
ok great :D I think I have it all clear now.
I hope you enjoy it. it is one of my favorite quick "fancy" meals
so, either break crumbs, crushed corn flakes, or crushed special k cereal, all of these work amazing
bread
um no, another question, sorry. When you spoon out the tater meat... do you keep the skin of the taters on? And is that what you leave when scooping out?
I have all those :D
yes, skin on
you are basically making a "boat" out of the potato halfs
ahhh of course. Scoop out but leave enough in to keep the form
yup
make twice as many taters as you think you will need
They tend to be popular;)
:D will do
For dinner tonight I am going to have a sweet potato..
Use you favorite shredded cheese on top when you stuff the boats and bake them . i like a nice sharp cheddar
They are good with cinnamon and brown sugar.
mmm.. sweet taters
good thinking, sukee. I hope you heal up pretty fast.
I love sweet tater frittes
I am seeing the dentist on Monday, Tuesday I should be back to normal.
That is good, sukee
getting there, sukee. One more weekend.
Is there pain, sukee or are you just trying to prevent the rest of the cap from coming off?
A tiny bit of pain but I'm more worried about doing more damage.
I make sweet potato latkes, just like reg. latkes but serve them with sour cream
I use the food processer
ooh, that sounds good.
I love latkes...
and hello
Hi ruby.
that Z biggie is totally new for me. Not just in babble, but altogether. Curcuma derived stimulant. Thank you a2z!
And I do it when there are leftover baked sweets, too
My husband never had a sweet potato until he married me!
hi ruby :)
lol
You are the sweet potato :)
or a turnip or rutabaga for that matter
I wouldn't dare call you a sweet potato, ruby
He led a sheltered life, lol
hahaha
what is the second letter of the big z?
ok, have to be off. Groceries to get, chickenbreasts to put in milk and fridge. *hugs* to you all.
ze9/90 ruby
Have a good day.
thanks crossy for the recipes, and sukee, all the best!
I have already decided I am ordering Popeye's Chicken on Tuesday :)
bye sprite
I am in the process of makig a huge chicken soup, just like my mother used to make but without the chicken fat, bones or skin
enough for everybody in babble
It is about 3 hours of work plus the cooking time but it's a few days' dinners
I think that is the very fist time that I have see that ze 9/90 in the grid
{{crossy}} I have no idea!
(9ruby))
minus 21 with the wind chill again this morn...brrr
Almost that here, and it is supposed to be 0 tomorrow.
It is slightly raining here but not so cold and no wind. I can't complain
mins 3 here tomorrow then plus 1 on sunday and back to mins 20 on monday:(
Okay, breakfast time. Probably a boiled egg :) See you later.
I see lots of ice in our future.
looking for zeitgeist NOY!]
Now you know why Canadians carry shorts AND a parka in the car:))
tc sukee
"you can always take it off...."
I recently got a 1.5 quart crock pot. It's perfect for making smaller batches of soup and sauce.
I love my crockpot
mine hold ten cups
I like making big batches since husband doesn't mind eating the same thing, day after day, and I can do all the work at once when I'm feeling up to it
but you are young, Molly!
good morning dear friends
good morning, trif, another young one
howdy trif. Nature is wise, ruby. it allows people to grow old so there is someone around to teach us youngsters:)
Feeling about 100 today...oof. What a long week...
100 is the new 70!
lol
ok, I am out of time and must head to class. tc all and happy babbling!
drive as fast as possible, crossy :)
bye crossy
soodle is in the grid today~!~
Big batches would work if I could serve up the same thing day after day. But that doesn't work here.
Maybe husband doesn't remember -- that's called looking for the bright side
And yes, Soodle was already here to soak up her status
♪♫You should always look at♫♪the bright side of your life♪♫
Believe me, I try!
<----trying to teach our parrot how to whistle that song....
Good morning!

I think you should teach him dirty limericks
Hmmmmm...good idea!

Hi kids. Biggie today.
Hi scrabs
How are you doing, River? What did the doc say about that lump?
You got it right _ hematoma
Common things occur commonly, rare things occur rarely. An important axiom in medicine and life.
Its pretty hard. No pain or discoloration.
If it gets calcified it may take months to resorb.
Just keep a watch on it. He told me to wear control top pantyhose. I lmao!
I doubt that will help the hematoma and you will be uncomfortablly squeezed.
He wants to see me again in 2 weeks
Aaah, the sun is shining! It is beautiful out and I will XC ski in 2 hrs.
He thinks compression may help
It is beautiful here too.
any clue for the do 7/32?
Hi
Hi pilgrim and jj
Did you see the pic of Moms grandchild? Beautiful!
good morning all
Yes. I love newborns. Great-nephew #2 for me was born Jan 4th.
Hi wv
To hand out and alt spelling of not wrong pl
Mom is thrilled to hae a grandchild to love and spoil.
Oh yes, I saw that post. Congrats
That's the do8, isn't it River?
Hi Scrabs, River, teach, jj
TY for the clue
Hi Bichon
I missed the do 8/9. Could I have a clue pls?
Yes 8 and 9
Hi bichon
Ah - both Pilgrim and I are looking for the 7/32
River clued at 9:22
(I'm also looking for the do6/21)
I just clued it a minute ago
ty River, got it
Sorry river - I think you clued the 8/9 (though I admit I may have missed something)?
stats for the single E in right column please
which one teach?
Do + anagram of to get up
I am typing words that I think are in the grid and so far most of them are. Non-phantoms.
top single E
Et 6 I think
oetic for forever
Hi River - isn't that the do6/21 that isn't before the do7/32) I am still after do6/21 and do7/32 - the two before entrance or egress.
TY
*poetic
thnx
I dont list so dont know what is what
Ah, ok. There are two do/621s - sadly, the one you clued is the one I have - there's another earlier in the alphabet :)
I dont have what you need matty
Will look
There's also a do7 which I can't find (which may or may not be related)
Thank you for everyone who gave me advice about visiting my friend. It did not end up mattering because he was under morphine and unconcious the whole time. He died later that night, at home. His wife was unfortunately not there, being in the hospital with her own cancer.
retiree
It did matter. Sorry for your loss.
oops, sorry
Oh, JJ, it is such a sad story. Too awful.
also sorry for your loss, JJ
thanks.
scrabbler, stidmama says to tell you hello!
do6/21 = entrance do*r + the shltered side is ***ward
Hi stidmama and mcurlschool
Hello All
Not a good clue, but tough word to clue
Buon giorno
Thanks Scrabbler!
we were conferring on some students but she has mosied next door to teacher chat there!
JJ, so sorry to hear about your friend.
ty Scrabs, how's Ryder and Jaxxson
Add S for do7
hi hego
I just found that myself and was thinking how to clue it. Good job scrabs
Good clue, ty Scrabs
Ryder is doing well--he has been breast feeding well since birth, mostly sleeps and eats, and Jaxson kisses his baby brother a lot.
So cute.
doolee
uh oh
That's it, grant. My clue worked.
Now there's a good clue!
good clue?
Your clue is simpler than mine.
:)
So many 7s. It hurts.
I finally got it entered next door
I have been typing like crazy and have 265 to find.
quite painful
Scrabs, it must be a sweet picture
Jaxie calls Ryder "BB" for "baby"
Thanks for the help with the last do6 and do7 I had! :-)
My New Jersey sister is driving here now. We will visit the boys and my mother, and snowshoe everyday through next Wedneday.
Leaving 106 for later. Bye for now.
Bye River
Good morning everyone. So Dr.G got everything back up and running ?\
Hi flosey
last night at flip, things were not working at all
Soodle is in the grid!!
lol, but there's another word quite similar
saw that.
I only JUST realized that I need to find re- words. Ugh.
oops, I'm still missing a letter, the top letter in second column is blank!!
The list shows about 30-40 re- words....argh.
ah, went out and came back, it's here now!
scrabs, I was just wondering how many of those there would be.
Yikes!!
I can't count high enough for them, hego. Haha.
Hego, my sister will also meet Remy Rabbit for the first time and she will fall in love.
haha
Your family is growing. Two new members.
Two more to love.
:)
halfway, NBT and NBS - time for a break

Hi Scrabbs

Fan, la 6.18---man's name (spelled funny) plural
200 words (doo6 was the 200th) but nothing bigger than a 7 and no right-hand e
ruby which e?
I can't imagine what the z9 must be
upper right-hand, east
ruby, want a clue that was on before
ps, yes, and hello annie

Would someone be able to clue the de7 for me. I just can't seem to find it.
I must go get ready for XC-skiing--layers, water, lunch--and get to the hut to make sure there is a roaring fire in the wood stove.
No, its hard to clue
MLFAN, sometimes clues, even multiple clues, just don't work for our brains.

Thanks I just found it and thought it might be something people would want a clue for.
I would
People give clues without them being asked for all the time.
I like it when that happens.
Seems like most people do
Those of us who don't must play with chat turned off to find words on our own.

*Doctor to nurse: who is that poor man over in the corner with a beard? Nurse: oh.. that's DC.. he used to have a way with words
babble has greatly improved my scrabble game :)
Nurse to doctor: They all keep doodling these little squares with 25 letters in them.
mine too, dc and WwF too
i actually played an in-person Scrabble game on NYE. That was a nice change.
Nurse.. they also mumble strange things like naoi, etui, inia, etna, and oses

HA
sounds frightening!
and get irked when "toodle" is no good
I play lwei in a Wwf Games last week :)
:)
Doctor...that one over there keeps drooling and muttering "404 error. All I got was a 404 error"
soodle is in the grid however

wish I could stick around -- well, not here at work, but on the computer -- but it's truly time to go. A bubble of babblers, Molly? I poof!
Would one person in a bevy be a bevum?
bye jwr
Yeah, the "poof" thing also lends itself to those who are gassy
hahah, judi
a babbler sounds like a person who hangs around too much at brooks and streams
plays babble and leaves
So a babblet would be someone who hangs around too much at French brooks and streams?
no.. those players are inseine

It's sad the way women seem to balk at hosiery these days. There are a lot of legs that look much better in them than without

And personally, I would rather wear hose than spray chemicals all over my legs to make them look tan.

Pantyhose, blech. I wear regular hose or thigh highs.

Thank you! I would never have found that on my own!
good for you. I honestly thought it was "just a cold" and suffered through the last three days, but after my nap this afternoon I woke up with it in my lungs, and it's not fun. *grumble, sniffle, cough*
well, thanis to all cluers. Done.
stid; have you had a fever? Did it come on suddenly?
YAY, TO!!! WTG!!!
no fever, came on gradually, mostly light upper respiratory :-) my darling students came back from vacation two weeks ago wanting to share "everything" about their travels...
LOL!
YAY TO!!!

ah. Grant, who will be no longer a te4ager soon just discovered that objects, after boiling water on the stove, are ())(&(*(&TOOIU)* HOT. (*wicked mama grin*)

Oh, that works too. I posted it on my nephews FB page today & it wouldn't work there
YAY teach!!!!

YAY, wvteach!!! WTG!!!
Niters TO Sleep well!
I suspect I had a mild influenza in December actually -- aches, exhaustion, very low grade fevers (nothing up to 100)... for about three weeks.
Yep, that sounds like the flu...
it's the aches and exhaustion that partially define the flu.
It set me back for a while, was just climbing out of it when we went back to school. :-D Fortunately, I get ALL the latest-and-greatest bugs courtesy of my students. Gotta love those younger kids, so kind with unexpected hugs and knowledge of the most current sniffles.
Use your hand sanitizer frequently,(wash hands well several times an hour (if possible); don't touch your face, eyes, or mouth, make sure everyone coughs into their armpit or elbow too.
That aside, we are completely back into the swing of things in my school, and it appears at least right now a bad cold is the worst thing being passed around.
That's good news. The flu has been pretty bad here; both before Christmas break and now
yes, hand sanitizer every time I turned around the last couple of days, and hand washing when I can.
Doing my best to have kids wipe down desks (KNEW I forgot something today! *facepalm*), and we practiced coughing into our elbows twice this week.
can someone help with the de7 cannot monkey it thanks
In the hospital we were told not to rely on just the hand sanitizers; washing hands with soap (while singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" twice) several times an hour between the sanitizer uses, would really cut down on "germs".
I have 25 students, nef -- one sink. NOT able to wash hands every 5 minutes.
sorry, speed, I don't have it but am looking now
de7 is french for last
de7 - weight of silk stockings with an extra consonant 3rd letter
Oh my, stid. At least it sounds like it's in your classroom, is it?
hi Pythonx, where are you in Ontario? I grew up east of Toronto, then moved to North York - much later lived in Aurora, now on west coast
thank you
THanks Pythonx & flosey
Windsor, flosey
That, unfortunately, is a luxury afforded only to people who are in smaller groups. A single sink in the classroom does not mean we have the ability to use it. Children at this age have their fingers in their noses, ears, mouths ... and on every surface almost constantly. If I stopped to have kids wash every time it was medically or hygienically advisable, I would not be able to teach at all.
Hey flo!!!!! *****hugs friend*****
hi Stid, sorry to read you've been having a time with colds and other bugs - tough to beat when working with little ones
very true, stid. And I can't imagine a teacher washing her hands as often as a nurse does; the class would be impossible to manage then!
supper's on, bbs
I'm never going to finish this. night all.
