Hi and hugs Rose
hi granny
{{hugs}} liz girl
hey ya sue
stats for an 8 pls
liz, we had the loveliest day. sun shining, light breeze. very comfortable weather.
Hot here today. Just had a swim.
sue, st8/40
clue?
Happy the weather was so lovely for you Rose :)
liz, it was so nive, we both sat out on the deck, untangling some knitting wool for over an hour. just chatting away, a few laughs.
Relaxing
st8, to put into difficulties, especially financial ones
Lounge is now mostly painted. Next is skirting boards, so now thinking about fun stuff!
from the st5/10?
oh, liz, how wonderful. don's been working on the garage. he can now walk through from front to back, and he actually has some clear floor area.
from the st6/18. strip of water between to land masses
Will re carpet next. You'd never know there was a fire there.
ugh...please read two
But must wait a while for that.
lol....and we are ripping up all our carpet. polishing the floor boards or tiling
Floor in here is concrete.
the wooden floors are red wood.
We have carpet in here and the bedrooms. Tiles everywhere else.
we are going without as we feel the carpets are causing respiratory upsets for both of us....plus the fact, don's son has leaked testosterone into the carpets.
granny how do i end the st8. I have the 6/18
nm
i was going the wrong way
every time the lounge gets warm the stench is horrible. the lounge is the last room with carpet. we are laying wood-grained vinyl tiles where we cannot polish.
Just sent you before / after pics.
lol, sue. yay you
Yuck!
time for bed. bbl
Sleep well Sue
sweet dreams sue
yay - one of my favorite words is here: at 6 & pl

Of course
Also give her hugs frm me
And I'm sure from sprite.
going to check times
okay, it's 3:40am in indianna now.
So perhaps tomorrow morning would be good.
so at 7:30 tomorrow morning here it will be 3:30pm there
Seems like a good time to me.
lol....slight problem....i'm not conscious most mornings at that time. but i am thinking about 10:30 am here should be a good time for us both. that is if we don't hear from here before then.
Totally understand that. Mornings not my best time either.
Taking a break Rose. Hugs to you and to sprite, when you see her.
np's liz. xoxox
hi all. any clues for the 10s?
ti10/77. it's the past tense of ti9. start with not nice word for breast + not well + past tense to consume food
ty got it. and the past tense also.
tr10/77, past tense of tr9, to change from one language to another.
hi rose, i have got both the 9s and 10s you just clued, please may i have a clue for the other 9
jenny np's
tr9, past tense of tr7, t + not walk + not stand
thanks rose
it's very twisty
*giggle*
i is in Toronto airport playing with a restaurant ipad
... how did you sneak across the border or aren't they looking for you any more?
awww gee...you two are too much. g'day to you both.
jmc, what are you doing in toronto?
... good morning ... ... though my clock says it's evening in Melbourne
Hi all
dosef...your clock is correct. as a matter of fact...it is almost pumpkin time here.
... hello
liz?? did you get puglet's email?
But an hour earlier in Queensland ;)
Yes, Rose. I just replied. Told her we'd been talking about her and her ears must've been burning.
... Yeah ... I've been watching the tennis and I'm utterly confused about how to describe when a match was played to my wife
sort of ditto liz
It was probably played tomorrow for you!
np's dosef....i have to resort to the on-line time converter every time.
... yes .. it was now played later this morning ... most confusing use of verb tenses
Still find it weird that when we flew to Vancouver from Sydney, we arrived 3 hours before we left!
looks like sprite has had a nasty night. if either of you are here when she arrives, please give her a humungous hug and lots of kisses from me. i really need to be horizontal. xoxox to all.
Sleep well, Rose. Hugs
... oh well ... the cat is fed ... and it's still only 630 in the morning ... I'm going back to bed ... ... good luck to all
Have a good day - when it starts :)

IL 6/18
hi phae! il6/18

how about the middle E at the top?
ty sprite
yw mlfan

en 6/18

Hi spritey, how are you feeling today?
Third column bottom s?
I seem to have a relapse of the stupid flu. Taking it easy today. And how are you, Annie?
narrow water between two land masses?
si5/10 a kind of rope
si 5/10---type of rug, fan
ty annie
nb
sprite, Im okay. Sorry about the relapse. Not pleasant.
nbt
no it isn't. But this too, shall pass ;) Great to hear you are okay. Just okay, or good?
Im good. Liz and family are coming down today from CT and we are going out to dinner. So that is nice. My older grandson is taller than me. When did that happen?
lol I am making a mess of things here. Searching for the narrow water between land masses starting is, and trying everything island related. Finally it sank in. It was st.
omg Annie, that is awesome! That must be the strangest thing. I know I felt weird when my son went over my head. Your plans sound good!
thanks for the st. , didnt have it
yeah me neither, thanks sue
are either of the tr 9's compound words?
no, fan
fan, I have one tr 9/10 and it is not a compound
oh found one

good for you!
nbt and nbs
what do the 8's start with? I have the st8/40

contrats mlf
Annie, I hear you. All of my sons are taller than me. I went from being the tallest to being the shortest in the clan.
ti 8/40
its the only 8 i have
Hi Molly, How many sons in your family?
even my daughter is taller than me. I am the smallest in the house. I make up for it horizontally though
is it related to the 9 & 10?
Three and they are all over 6 feet. My youngest goes 6'4" and is taller than both of his "big" brothers : D
I one was 5'6"...no more
Molly, You have a wonderful family.
*once
I agree Annie, my kids are the best : D
molly, at least you have kids that can reach the top shelves in the grocery store.
Oh I can reach the top shelf just fine by myself. It's the bottom shelves I find to be a pain, and so much of what I buy seems to be there.
lol
can i have a clue for the ti8?
I find it funny when women much younger th4 me ask me to get something off the top shelf for them
It is a marketing strategy in grocery stores. The better deals on are the lower shelves so you will grab what's right in front of you and spend more money.
right, Molly
in
sorry
sorry sue, didn't see your question. Ti6 what Poirot likes to drink.
sorry. And then I misread your question too. Ti8, not ti6/18. Sorry, don't have the 8 yet.
ti8 is a giant with a mineral ending
thanks, sprite
yw. Sorry for the hectic clueing
ty sprite

Hi sue, nice to see you

ahhh
hi sprite and annie and sue!
sue, Just read about Frank. sending healing vibes his way >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
thanks, annie! PET scan this Thursday so we have our fingers crossed...
i am praying for him.
and now I am off, see you all later! and thanks, sue!
will pray for him too, and for you
sue, Franks is in my prayers too. We will get him well.
and sprite is potent.
when 2 or more come together in prayer, it is unbeatable.
so true. I have often felt like I was wearing a warm protective cape around me when babblers were thinking of me and praying for me.
bbs
we should become a prayer group for all babblers. Just say a protective prayer for all babblers each morning.
I like that idea!
all that agree say I
I
I
echo echo echo
it's ok, i'm gonna pray for all of you out there in watching land
I know some other babblers who will certainly do so too. Good idea of you, sue!
the other 8s are ti8 and ta8.
fireflies. Anything I may help with before I go?
off I go then :) May you all have a blessed day and a peaceful night. Thanks for the help and company.
is there a babble version for androis or apple devices?
android, sorry daft gingers wont go where they are supposed to
If you mean Babble Expert, no. Not for Apple at least.
jacq sorry about your gigners. :)
Mine are just as bad.
lol i didnt even notive that
i do get a lot of obscure words tjhough lol
haha
That is why I refrain from using tiny keyboards.
i don't mean expert, just babble, it would be easier for me to play more regularly
Like the phone ones. They are murder.
lol i give up
Yes, Babble can be reached on apple devices.
I didn't know that Babble doesn't work on Apple devices. One more reason for me not to like them.
yes they are Hego, but you can slide and it takes the letter you stop on
www.playbabble.com
does it need a special download for apple Hego?
good tip. ty Jacq
If you go into the browser on your tablet and type in playbabble.com you can play babble
I just go online and go to the site.
As Norma said.
thank you
yw
morning, folks (i play babble on a macbook, ipad and iphone - a little more difficult on the phone, but not so bad)
If you sign into your account it will save your words so if you go onto the laptop later you will be able to "send words to babble"
Welki, can you Alberta folks keep your clippers at home please?
home. . . now running off to Meeting. . . hi and bye all
12 inches of snow Tues!
hahahaha i managed to mwss that up too lolol
i don't think you can blame this one on alberta - it's more east coast this time - but i'll make a note for the future :)
perfect, thank you so much xx
:)
ty Welki
where i live we have had no snow, we are the only part of scotland to have none and we want some, even just for a day, for the kids
hey, we have lickety today, hooray!
hi Pip
Lickety showed up late yesterday, thank God.
careful what you wish for, jac - i'm happily watching ours melt and hope we don't get much more
hey pip
She sent it all our way for Tuesday.
nooooo - we haven't had new snow here for weeks
we haven't had snow at all for two years now, just this wee bit here, they had it 17 miles away and we got sleet and hail lol
what part of Scotland Jacq?
how is everyone?
good Pip
i live in moray but we are right on the coast between aberdeen and inverness and seem to miss the snow because of the warmer sea temps
yes we have less snow for the same reason.
<-- thinks the weather folks are calling it an alberta clipper when it should be called an atlantic clipper
the yesterday one was off the coast, but the one for tomorrow came out of Canada down into the midwest and out to the east.
but alberta isn't near your midwest. maybe it's a manitoba or ontario clipper :)
sure pass the buck
alberta takes the blame for everything. *lol*
blame the antlantic :)
hahaha
but does anyone say, 'thank you, alberta' for your low gas prices? noooooo
do you mean car gas or cooker gas?
You get no respect.
car gas
our province is rich with oil and gas, but right now, it's what hego says
ah we have lower prices just now but it's still £1.12 a litre which is still high but it was £1.45 not that long ago
and boy oh boy, our economy is tanking - looks like a recession is coming
we were at 1.29/litre and now down to .71/litre
I hope not.
the low price is great but my hubby lost his job because it's north sea oil related and not much hope for a nother one for a while
i hope not, too, but the indicators are here - and layoffs are already happening. going to be a rough couple of years for a lot of people
we have had hundreds and hundreds of layoffs already
it's a scary time a lot of small towns and companies won't survive a bad recession
'd bet the layoffs are comparable percentage-wise; there have been thousands here since december
morning folks. Sorry hear about the bad economy in Britain and Canada
Hi Bichon
hi Bichon
hi hego
hi, bichon
i think this recession will be world wide this time a lot of countries are still reeling from the 2008 disaster
it happened here in 2008, too
hi welki
jac ^5
we have food banks here, that hasn't happened before
I don't think we're in a recession, yet
No recession in my region of the US. In fact, the economy has been robust.
dite
sorry!
The unemployment rate in the US is still dramatically high. And don't believe the statistics you read because they are based on those drawing unemployment benefits and thousands have exhausted those benefits.
No, we don't have one here in CT, but you never know
not here either.
just looked up u.s. recession - washington post said, two days ago, doesn't look like you'll have one
it's the same here, the government changed the rules and disqualified a lot of people from claiming benefits and they aren't counted but are still out of work
last al5,10 please? PLEASE?
the indicators for now are good.
kneel and pray at this
erda, sorry
could it be al 5/10 - to one side?
The US did the same thing Jaq. They had extended benefits for the unemployed, but stopped. Once they ceased the extension and many no longer qualified, they started claiming that unemployment was down.
or the wee green men? al5/10
sorry, wee green man
wee green men??
I'm not basing it on statistics or reports. I'm basing it on the number of buyers and sellers I have (I'm a Realtor/estate agent) and on mortgage interest rates. The real estate market in my area is solid and growing, which is a good indicator.
be back later, take care everyone xx
little green men from Mars
OH!!
my daughter just listed her house in nj - hope it's the same there, lideola :)
bye, jac
The last al5 is where mass is said in a Catholic church
Thank you, Molly!
I am in the Philadelphia area, which is very close to that market. As long as she isn't ridiculously over priced she shouldn't have a problem. It's all driven by price relative to location and condition. I can tell you that NJ was recently ranked in the top 5 states for overall public school performance, which is usually good for sellers. Good luck to her.
she's relocated and even asked the realtor to list lower than what he suggested, so we're hoping it sells quickly. nice area near new brunswick
Where is she going Welki?
I hope she's moving closer to you!
already there, hego - vermont. husband offered great job as operations manager for ems - she's been there less than a week and has already landed job in er dept
i wish, lideola - i think it'll be us who'll have to move closer to them
that's great but it means you won't be coming here anymore. :(
hego, she was really enjoying working in the picu, but i really think she'll love the er, having already worked as a medic
au contraire, hego - youngest still lives near you :)
She should be solid because New Brunswick is a semi-suburb of NYC. Best of luck to her.
Nurses can always get work.
how is latin not a word?
maybe, but it's a small town and the positions you want aren't always available. they snatched her up, though - offered her high range to take the position
thanks, lid
proper noun Pip.
Good morning, all!
Hi Judi!
hi judi
hi, judi - best of luck with the new member of the family
Ty, Welki. She is a sweetheart. Our biggest challenge is keeping her from thinking the cats are skooby snacks.
one swift claw to the snout and she'll learn :)
how old is she Judi?
18 months.
off to cook breakfast - thanks for the nice chat everyone
bye Welki
All grown, then.
later folks. Have a good day!
bye hego
I think so. She's very skinny. Hip bones and spine palpable. So, we're trying to feed her up. She doesn't seem too interested in food or treats. She goes to the vet on Monday to get a de-worming. Not sure if she needs it, but then again, not sure if she ever had a de-worming treatment.
And we're potty training - which is going very well. One accident the first day, but none since.
Ha. Just noticed. The "Latin" should not feel bad. It doesn't allow "italian" either.
Hi all, does lickety have extra words today?
hi everyone, no pcal, he doesn't
darn! tks flosey
ji
Speaking of proper nouns, Sa7 is allowable, even though it is a brand of cracker.
itin
.. isn't it a type of cracker rather than just a brand?
... but thanks for one anyways
Both, dose. It's a cracker conundrum!
... as long as somebody, somewhere, somewhen used it as an adjective instead of as a name ... they'll let it go
... sometimes.
And "nanite" is also a real word.
Oh...so sorry...
Hmmmm...nm
Off to do boring household chores. *POOF*
Stats for both i's in the fourth column please?
in4/4 and plural ... il6/18
ty
Clue for the il 6 please?
sick and not heavy
TYVM
hydrous potassium aluminosilicates,,,like that is common knowledge...
I also need the second i in the second column....
does anyone have de 5 and 6?
il4
I don't, but will look....
... a de6 is to leave a canvas camping shelter
Sorry, two il4
ty car
Ty both
And that was the first I, second is is6/7
Clue for the is 6 please?
i + shiny fabric
Got it! TY...will have to put those in the my "must check" pile of words.
de 5 clue please?
That is word seems to be on the Babble Hit Parade these days
I will be back later....good luck and HAGD
No kidding
<--wants Nilla to work.. just for the cookies
Sadly that word has become a racial slur. Is anything sacred?
really?
what about the KKK rap group Nilla Vanilla?
: D
Sadly, it is "twiddle your thumbs" Sunday. Which is okay, it gives the Patriots extra time to deflate some more footballs.
that was on the sports talk shows ALLL DAAAY
Well they have nothing to talk about these days. The pro bowl is kind of a joke.
what a waste of time that is
Did you hear that Kuwait doesn't show The Flintstones? But Abu Dhabi do. boom boom
LOL
The only reason I ever used to watch the pro bowl was to see John Elway in shorts. : P
ah.. the truth comes out
that's really cute deeha
I have been giggling over that all day!!
I have no shame when it comes to Elway's legs
He was a stud muffin that's for sure
<---no idea on some of these a's
28 A words is a huge pain
I just need two more As from the first column. But really struggling to find them :-(
Can I help Zooz?
Yes please can you give me the two As i need :-)
Lol... Maybe a bit more specific on what you are missing?
lol
found one Ar7
got that one :-(
smartypants!
Have you got at 7/28?
not me
Nope need that one!
That one broke my heart. Its a pl of the one before it. At + type of coffee 'Skinny ***te & an unexpected cons at the end & pl.
got it
Smartypants!
Ahh thank you so much, soodle! that got me the two missing A's.A's have been found!
At your service, sir!
ah, the Indian spear thrower thingy!
ty Soodle.
Is that what it is..Thanks, Hego!
*Weeps that Soodle has a heart so fragile that a word will break it*
yw. I think a lot of primitives used them.
And they couldn't spell back then, which explains "ungowa"
Thats me, Molls. A heart like a butterfly's wing. Encased in a rather 'sturdier' body. :-P
*sniffle*
This is the first time I have some 4s, 5s,6s,7s,all the 9s, all the 10s...but no 8s..lol
I too have no 8s
Nice one, Matty!
And I only have 69 more to find!
St 8/40, Ta 8/45 Ti 8/40 x 2
I have 106 to find
what a position to be in zooz
Well Soodle, I suppose that is better than being thin and heartless
i also have zero 8s with 86 left
this grid is really confusing
It's better than that tantric stuff Ru
LOL
Zooz..... You should have seen Ru's comment coming(!)
I did roll my eyes, soodle..tsk tsk!
<--couldn't pass up the chance
If only I had found one more word at that moment..lol
well.. the grid is pretty graphic if you think about it zooz
Ah found the ST8..thanks again, Soodle. Normally I put a GH in there.
Mid-way through snow preparations here. We are supposed to get dumped on tonight, but not as bad as the upper East Coast will get it Tuesday.
Have I missed a clue for the st8...?
Extend the St***** of Gibralter, Matty
Same type of word for when you use tongs to make curly hair go away.
I always over complicate the clues..lol
Gotya. I can't use those - my hair's too fine. Hey ho
Now I'm nbt nbs
*wonders what curly hairs zooz is talking about*
How much id dumped though, Molly? A couple of feet?
ouch....
Oh Moll. I hate snow with all my heart. We have been very fortunate this year, thank goodness.
Ewww!!! Ru..that is minging!
id = is
Can't stop chukling now.
98 left. Time for the list. One day, I'd love to say I finished the grid without the list.
Of course, I could say that at any time, but I'd like to say it when it's actually true
I hate snow too Soodle. I'm glad you've been fortunate.
The 'Short n St6/18s just doesn't have the same ring to it
Hah soodle - my ex-husband was pretty much like that - except his hair was over his whole body (apart from his head). If I ever would like to have tortured him, I'd have used duct tape
Zoom, the forecast is sketchy. Could be as much as 6 inches, which is dumped on to me. Places north of here could get up to 12 inches.
hi all, well the back of the house is clear of ice an slush courtesy of yours truly.
We had a few flurries of snow a couple of weeks ago. The whole place ground to a halt as per.
I Detest snow and ice! but the hours at the gym have paid off and I can do a lot more than I used to
Sounds like here, Soodle..lol
Hey Snow-shovelling Peri :-)
Peri, I think you should take all that snow and ice you shovel (all by yourself, all the time) and dump it in their beds.
I do hope the forecast is wrong and we do not get much snow
the younger ones here are worthless!
here meaning at my house
Better yet, pile it all up behind their vehicles.
lol
*on their vehicles is better*
I did not do that Molly since we all kind of use the same space, our neighbor included
Then sit at the window and watch them whilst you drink a hot cup of coffee with a smile on your face..lol
:)
well I did not clean off their cars
I have no use for worthless slackers who let someone else do all the hard work.
I shovel because I want to
it is always something, headache, etc
I have no time for them either
because I do not want to slip and slide on ice. I really do not want to shove
their time is coming
Snow is lovely if you can hole up in a cosy house and look out at it. My ex used to spend ages looking through the window when it snowed. Sometimes I felt sorry for him and let him in.
I have the st8 but I do not see the others altho I have the stats for them

brb
"Their time is coming"...*plays ominous music*
oops and it was supposed to be TI7 & 8 not TI6 & 7
Yes it sounds like, Peri, has got an evil plan ready to put into action!

Hi kids. I am finding some words before I head out to XC-ski.

Buon giorno, mis amica.

hey Scrabbs
buon giorno!
good snow, Scrabs? (= not sticky)
help with ta8 pls
What is everyone doing today, besides hunting down words?
shoveling
Good snow. I skied the last 2 days and the trails are in great shape. We got a few inches overnight too.
that's about it for me
laundry and cleaning.. busy week ahead
and going to the market
DUH-OH.. got the breast notes
minus 1c and bright sunshine today. Thinking about hitting the trails for an hour or two later one
looks like my wish li4 to santa
minus 10*
should have know that golf ball brand, but I missed it
ru is slow today
There were 3 ski races this morning starting at 9 and to be followed by festivities, so I want to wait til people clear out.
Jeff just showed me a golf towel on the bed with that very brand name on it. Though it has an extra E
the trails should be well packed for you
true, matty
Yes, the trails should have been groomed before the races.
so .. snow bunnies scrabs?
I have never seen a snowshoe hare in the woods. Lots of different animal tracks though--so many.
I see lots of snow bunnies, but the mrs will not let me bring them home:(
Leave them be.
snort
Poor rabbits and hares, and other smal animals. Their purpose in the world is to be prey for the higherups on the food chain.
If you're not on top of the food chain, you're part of it.
I leave snacks for the little critters that sneak into the warming hut where I ski. A vole snuck out yesterday--so cute.
they are cute.
lina
oops
my bad
*until she gets bitten by a vole*
According to the Smithsonian, on the food chain, humans rank roughly about the same as an anchovy or a pig. : D
do that here and you will be hip deep in mice
only the humans hard of herring molly
sounds fishy to me
woohoo, heard a little bit of cat fussing in the kitchen, went to check, found our little lady cat with a mouse! (speaking of mice) the others were closely observing, hope they follow suit.
Oh gross
hiya rbud!!
we really need some help with rodent control; marsh rice rats have invaded the boat and they are wrecking it.. have tried havaheart traps, moth balls.. so far, nothing works and we don't want to use d-con bc the hawks etc. may get poisoned.. grrr
Even grosser
don't know if a cat would go for one of these.. they are kind of big
hi, hego! :)
they are cute too, with little rounded ears
<---looking up marsh rice rats
One man's cute vole is another's house pest.
rat terrier, Aloy? we had one once, she caught some fairly big critters.
my wire haired was an excellent mouser.
They are cute, Aloy, but I can understand their pestiness.
rbud, we would LOVE to have a dog, but .. not fair to the dog until we settle down, sigh
yup, they have chewed and chewed and nested and .. I will spare you the details
these bobom words are making me nuts
bosom, even
we have weird half-size rats here, I think they're crossed with escaped tame rats or something, a pretty light tan color, bigger than mice, smaller than rats.
lol hego
a cat is a good solution.
a big cat
yep, that's what I was thinking, a BIG kitty, lol
I passed halfway. Time to get my ski gear on and go to the park. Bye kids.
nature is fun.. with a large rabbit population (shut your eyes, Scrabbs).. lots of bobcats here and no rat problem, but the bobcats move on when the rabbit pop. is down.. they will be back
*sends bobcat to Aloy's house*
I must leave too. bbl
have a fun time, Scrabbs!
bye, Hego.. enjoy the rest of Sunday!
I found the ta8, quite strange.
no rabbits here, all of them eaten by the French
help with the ta8 pls
hi ruby!
hi aloy
we have field mice living under the bird feeder. They are very cute with long fur
which T does the ta8 come from pls
it's apparently a shawl worn by Orthodox Jews... not short + vowel + the Tiny boy's name in A Christmas Carol
must be the right column T, I think
ty rbud
great clue rbud, ty
or the name of that guy who tiptoes thru the tulips, lol
Oh, can we just hope that the Christmas Carol reference was enough, without mentioning the other?
good night everybody
tyvm rbud, new to me
bl
sweet dreams, ruby
night, ruby
guess I coulda said "my Hubby's real first name" but that wouldn't have helped at all, teeheehee
brb.. laundry fun
stuck on two i's, grrr...
I could use a hint for the second column, lower i
me, too, that's one of them
I have one A that's eluding me - it's not my last word ever, but it would be great if you could help me kill off the As - the an6/18 which must be against something as it's after that prefix that stands alone but my monkeys aren't working
is6 is that lower I..
Ends with the first two letters of Noah's vessel
it's been in the grid a lot recently
got it - thanks
The monkeys came through
is 6/7, pls
ty, ru, shoulda known, had the sa5, and was saying to myself the same thing (been in grids a lot lately.)
So many people see those imaginary monkeys
oops, wrong i? more than one is6?
yes, but add a vowel on the end of the 6
si 6, foirst one, pls
are you in boston bichon?
no, but close, CT
Ends in where the Muffin Man lives...Drury...
that got both for the lower second column i, yay - but I'm still hunting for the lone bottom row i
ah
LOL, it's Brooklynese
Lone i...sick + not heavy
I was having Archie Bunker flashbacks
illjonasbrothers
ty Molly
woohoo, ty, Molly, nbt - finally
The Jonas Brothers, what a godawful band
And I use the term "band" very lightly
boy band, big difference - no instruments, not a band IMHO
though I've never seen them, suppose they might have some - don't want to offend any young females, lol
went through all that with our daughter and the Backstreet Boys, etc. thank goodness that's all long over
Even worse, I have a friend who went through it with Hanson. *So glad I had boys
Ed Sheerin is the current obsession chez Soodle.
Oh come on, he's not even cute
hey, I think I saw him last night on PBS?
She just likes him because he headlined for Taylor Swift : D
yes, he was on "Live from the Artists Den" on PBS, hmmm.
imagine that.
You probably did , rbud. He played an 'intimate 'gig in Dublin last night. And, Molls, the resident Taylor fan has a summer road trip planned. Cologne, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Manchester & 2 x Dublin shows.
Oh my God, your nest is going to be totally empty. *Arranges for copious amounts of wine to be sent to Chez Soodle*
Bring. It. On.....
well, this wasn't an actual "live" one, it was a sort of anniversary "best of" episode, was sort of fascinated by Robert Plant's number - still with all those long curls, giggle
Which Robert Plant one did he do? (Confesses to not being au fait with this stuff)
Of course, then your "dates" might get more interesting.
I was Never a Led Zepplin fan
Robert Plant was much better with The Honeydripper
Honeydrippers
At the teen disco i attended only a few years ago (!), Stairway To Heaven was the most confusing song. It started all smoochy - great, then it morphed into a head-banging song. Most annoying!
Sorry, but Stairway To Heaven and disco do not belong in the same sentence.
he did Ramble On - but he can't quite hit the high notes these days - sounded good nonetheless.
Well, it's been a long time since he did the stroll
And Soodle, I hate to break it to you, but the teenage boys you were dancing with had other things on their minds besides being "smoochy"
<---not just teenage boys
I'm trying to go easy. Soodle still believes in Knights In Shining Armor.
oh
how is she on chastity belts?
*groan*
It's a safe bet she's not a big fan.
wow a free groan!1
Ru, as Sally Field would say...people love you, they really love you ♥♥♥
Nice image of Tom Brady : D

Good Evening Everyone. How are you all today? (And how hard is the grid: could I finish it tonight of let it go?)
hi nef. .. hard for me to answer about the grid
bye penq
Oh? Aren't you doing it today?
the first 130 took abut half an hour
I take it then the second half is tougher?
i am nef but a bit out of practice and also not really engaged
not necessaily i am just not really lfocused
Ah, I understand, jmc. And TO; you've talked me in to tryingso here goes!
uh oh...
so may i grouse for a moment?
it will strm and we will have teeny tiny grids..
(You know what they say about fools rushing in….)
grouse away.
go right ahead, jmc. We might join it too
join in, that is
so i was out of town for a whole week. . . I travel but rarely take vacation. . .
yes...
so this friend I haven't heard from for multiple years sends me this email. . . her daughter who i saw 15 years ago when she got lost in DC and called me to rescue her (which I did) was in town and I hadn't responded within 24 hours. . .
really /. . .if you haven't contacted someone in 15 years seems you could wait 24 hours or . . . maybe just maybe. . . contact them further in advance. . .
:-/
OMG! She got hostile with you?
(or rather at…)
not hostile exacatly but an email saying "are you there?" on sunday when i didn't respond saturday
did you answer "No, I'm not" to her snarky comment?
hmm
just seemed like she could have waited a couple of days or contacted me prior. . .
yep.
especially since i bailed her daughter out of trouble 15 years ago. . . (not from jail but just no money and not connected with her group)
just seems presumptuous. . .
email i think makes people expect too much. . .
I agree. 15 years without contacting you and then when SHE is in Your town (& doesn't contact you beforehand) is she expecting you to be home & drop everything or what?
are you going to answer?
not her but her mom. . .
i saw her at Meeting today and said she should call we would have dinner. . . i am happy to spend time with her. . . just wanted to complain a little. . .
i figured i could grouse here
thanks guys. . .
I agree that it's presumptuiosthat she expected an answer right away;
are you ever coming here? i want to go to the stained glass installation at chestnut hill meetinghouse
clients are like that now too. . . email and cell phones means even little lawyers like me are on 24/7
Do you ever get the feeling that there are some people you know who just *expect* you to always be there when they call?
there is stained glass at a meeting house? *Shocked look*
exactly nef
why would stained glass in a meeting house surprise you jmc (I don't know much about Quakers, if you can't tell)
wait, maybe not stained glass, but it is an art installationwith light that is viewed at dawn and dusk
haha we rejected steeple houses. . . god everywhere. . . stain glass is a distraction from the connection to god
there is a nice meeting house in houston that is an art installation in of itself. . .
& jmc, I have 1 friend who ONLY calls when she wants something from me. I keep saying that phone lines go both ways, but that only works when she wants or needs something
i will keep that in mind TO
i have thought about saying no to such "friends"but then i think . . .life is too short. . .
LOL! Same here, jmc. Every once in a while it gets annoying; and when it does; I do say I'm already busy then. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't
exactly. . .if i can do it i do. . .
hey all...
ding dong ding at the least suggestion i'll pop the question. . . lida rose i'm a home again rose. . . .
Hi stid!
so here is my love song not fancy or fine. . . lida rose won't you be mine?
*drifts into music man music*
hi stiddie
time to rustle up somedinner
enjoy, TO!
have a nice dinner TO
*Busts in doing Shirley Jones's part/Will I Ever Love You*
<---Knows every note in The Music Man

i love old time radio on WAMU . . .
bye nef thanks
later Nef. I think I will head out too... should check wardrobe for the week ahead. Everything is clean, just need to figure out what needs de-wrinkling! LOL *poof*
picklittletalkalittle is on now
you just got here stiddie!
Cheep cheep cheep
hehehe exactly molls. . .
do you ever listen to old time radio on WAMU?
No but it sounds like something I would enjoy
7 pm every sunday night. . . gunsmoke. . .johnny dollar. . . dragnet. . . and other things as appropriate. . .
i am off now. . . see you tomorrow. . .
Molly, are you expecting a snow storm?
i know we have one coming for sure in new york
I hope it is not as severe as predicted.
Off to bed...Night all.
night bea
crap, ihate it when i need re or inorenwords
the en words frustrate me the most
i need4 t finish
I still have 85 so probably am not your guy right now TO but I do sympathize
yeah, 82 here
it is ok, leaving now. happy babbling
waves to everyone, even the lurkers
hi lurkers!
and bugsaw
hi bugs and pippin!
hi saanich. how goes it with you?
very well thanks! Looking forward to real daylight though...
And how about yourself?
hi saanich
was deep in the grid
me too! I have a light but it is not the same as real sunlight
what are your daylight hours right now?
tis fine. I just this minute finally finished
doing much better now. Had overextended myself too much so I quit volunteering and now have finally got free time.
hmm, let me check..basically normal daylight for this time of year.
no idea when the sun comes up pippin because I am not a morning person but it goes down between 5 and 6:00
Comes up about 7:30, therabouts.
Bugs I am glad you have free time! That's what this stage of life is all about. Loaded in art supplies, enrolled for Tai Chi, walk a lot, etc
exactly but you don't know how much is enough until you know what it too much - Blake I now know
SInce my foot is so much better now I am thinking about Tai Chi too
It's great to do in the pool too. I still keep my CRD Parks position (volunteer) but it is more fun than onerous. What happened to your foot?
that's about what we have here - 7am sunrise, 5pm sunset, much better than it was a month ago
<---it's sunny here 24/7
.. but that could be the drugs I'm on however...
i think i need some of those drugs
of course it would be ru! WHAT DRUGS??
happy drugs :D
I dislocated my foot and broke the bones in my lower leg last year then was allergic to the metal so had to get that taken out and then start recovery from that. Now I can balance on that foot I think it is time to do more.
send us all some please, dopamine needed
I could use some happy drugs too ruru. Lights are just not enough some days
Saanish I tried the exercises in the pool before the metal came out and nearly drove myself nuts pretended it didn't hurt that much
oh Bugs, what a terrible ordeal,
can anyone clue the ar7, please? I am getting bored
oof, that sounds miserable
ar 7 is a patron of the arts
or a clever producer of some art
I think it is a practicer of the arts, their work is in craft shows
I am only sorry that I didn't do it jumping out of a plane or something exciting. It was just a bad step and an I have fallen and can't get up moment. too sad
*sends the clapper to Bug's house*
thanks for the hint. Don't need a clapper any more thanks ruru but it was miserable for a long time when I was not allowed to put ANY weight whatsoever on it. My arms don't look like a gorilla
*checks bug's knuckles*
I hardly ever limp now
*wraps bugs in bubble wrap again*
Bugs, so sorry you had to go through all that
hey stid. good to see you too
hey all -- rolled my ankle last week, but just a little thing and much better now... Every time it rolls, though, I think of you Bugs!
hey stid, hi!
Mr Bugs was pretty good about feeding me enough to stay alive. Sometimes he would bring breakfast at 3:00 in the afternoon though because he thought he had broght something sooner. At that time it hardly mattered because I was on a lot of drugs.
ugh... LOL I know Mr. Bugs, too possible!
A roll was what did it stid! I dislocated the foot with the roll and then tried to stand on it and slipped off the foot. I hope you had someone to help you up before you tested it like I did.
He is a sweetie but he moves pretty slowly
I was teaching at the time.... so had over 20 pairs of hands who could have helped if I needed it. But I didn't fall, so it was okay.
How's life on the island these days, ladies?
Oh good but you probably pulled all the tendons and ligaments. It could take a while to heal yet.
we are having lots of rainstorms.
I finally clued in yesterday, and sat ALL DAY (except for "necessary" trips) with my foot up; and wrapped it yesterday and today. Will be cautious this week and see the doc after that. But it is SO MUCH better than it was even three days ago, I think I will be okay.
and dark clouds, quite similar to your weather. (Why do Canadians always seem to talk about the weather!?)
i can't imagine having to go through that agin, breaking my ankle was the worst
We have been getting sporadic rain. Not what we "need" and not what I want... I was SO looking forward to finally teaching in a district that reliably has snow days...
but nada.
i have bursitis in my heel right now and that's enough
hey pippin! ((hugs))
hiya stid
Dinner beckons, great to see you all, bye for now
au revoir, chere Saanich!
waves to saanich
we haven't had snow yet this year, either stid. Climate change. But we have had a boil water advisory for over 2 months because of the amount of rain
??? boil water because of RAIN?
overflowed the pipes?
Yes. We have had so much rain for so long that it has created turbidity in the water with all the mud sliding down into the lake we use as a reservoir. I am sick of it.
yuck, that sounds awful
Ah, that is not good. I am sorry. How about the oyster beds by that little town near year? Did the rain bother them?
No. Oysters need salt water and it is hard to dilute the ocean. ;)
Hi again everyone.
welcome back nef
hi Nef. good to see you again
Here, at the southern end of the Salish Sea, too much rain can wash over the beds as it comes out of the creeks and rivers, and the oysters don't like it. The normally brackish water isn't salty enough.
hey NEF!!! (((hugs))) I am getting GOOD at drumming! Today I sat and practiced "Flams" for almost twenty minutes! :-D
Ah! makes sense now stid. we are half way up the Georgia Strait so the tides move things much faster than at the end of an inlet.
Of course. Makes perfect sense!
I read back in chat and Bugs; I'm sorry about what you went through. I had a workplace injury on my ankle back in 2006; then surgery in June that year; re-injured in Sept.; and another surgery in Nov. And the doc put metal staples in. I'm allergic to metal too; so had to have a 3rd surgery in April to clean out & close the wounds from the metal staples.
WTG, stidder!
I like oysters, but haven't had any for a while. Probably should ask Tom to stop by the local fishmongers and get some... a good oyster stew for Superbowl might be really nice.
ugh
ankle injuries are sure complicated aren't they Nef! Did the swelling ever go down for you?
Oysters, yumm. I wish we lived closer to an ocean so they were cheaper
I can't do oysters or clams. It is the texture.
hey ruru -- Tom made lovely pizza for supper tonight. Fresh veggies, (gluten free crust for me, regular for him), pickled garlic, sausage....
I bread the oysters so they are crunchy, and refuse to eat them raw. Raw oysters make me gag...
It goes down, Bugs; but I can't be on my foot much over 2 hours because the pain & swelling gets to me. (peripheral neuropathy in that foot now).
That doesn't sound good, Nef.
8 years after my ankle break and it still bothers me regularly
I can't take oysters either.. clams are ok most times
*rethinks walking in favor of being carried around in a litter by cabana boys*
I am afraid of that pippin. They said I would get arthritis in it but I was imagining that would be years away.
The ortho doc is a foot specialist; teaches at the U of MN. He told me back then that I'd always need orthotics and I'd have about 2-3 hours on that foot for life. It is what it is; I push it sometimes but then I pay for it.
i mean i can run and bike and everything, but i get weird twinges and there are days where i am limpy or have to twist my foot in a certain way to walk without pain
So my computer desk has an ottoman next to it and I elevate my feet whenever I'm at the computer.
often weather related
okay, it is late for me, i gotta crash!
well, I should head out. Need to be ready for tomorrow and have a few things still to pull together. (((EVERYONE))) be well, stay safe.
*poof*
pippingeek, good luck with your foot.
Niters pippingeek & stid!
waves to all the smart people who leave when they only have 10 left
LOL, Bugs!
I'm having trouble finding *i* words tonight in this grid
the i words are same ones that have been in the last coulple of grids. I + cloth
... them I've got ... what are you looking for?
any of them, doseffing. I've only found 1 so far (related to health). And bugs, this past week whenever I looked the grids were too big for me to play (it was a busy week for me)
the first si 6 word please
... si + what you bowl on
thanks
... top row ... in 4/5 ... a standard babblet
have you opened your list yet Nef? how many clues do you need? is 6 and 7 = i + shiney cloth
... at the bottom .. is6/7 ... i + shiny or silky cloth ... and then with a vowel
Thanks to both of you! I can get it from here(I hope)
... actually that's not the bottom ...
... the bottom is ... ... sick and not heavy
now I am done. I will leave you in the capable hands of doseffing the cluer
YAY, Bugsaw!!! WTG!!!
... of course you assume that I've found them
When i was here earlier, T.O. said the first half of the grid goes very fast (actually she said one could do the first half of the words in half of an hour). I'm guessing (& seeing) the 2nd half is much slower
... that's about it ...
if you pl or p.t. everything, it goes pretty fast…. at least for a while
... yeah ... but there's a bunch of sevens that will do you in ... ... if I wasn't keeping track of the tennis scores I'd go to bed ...
Yeah, I hear you, doseffing. I'm fighting off falling asleep right here myself
... and done ... ... but I had to cheat and use the wordfinder for four or five ... ... may I offer a clue for anyone?
YAY, doseffing!!!! WTG!!!
I doubt I'll finish tonight; so you don't have to hang around for me dos
... Yeah I know how you feel ... ... that's why I hit the word finder ... I got to my usual 80 or 85% before I listed ... but I couldn't monkey a bunch of them ... ... at least you're on Central time so it's only really late for you ... not stupidly late like it is for me ... ... ... as Edward R. Murrow used to say ... ... "Good Night and Good Luck" ...
Good Night, doseffing. Sleep well.
