{{hugs}} sprite
i was in the kitchen sorting dinner
hello my dear friend *hugs*
it's a strange grid tonight/today. twisty words
yesterday's was evil
some very weird gerunds yesterday.
yeah... that nursling one was odd
how was your night?
bad. Ugly dreams and lots of being awake, and my back is a mess.
i thought that would be the case. gentle hugs my dear.
thanks :) How about yourself? I read you had a good day.
yup, got stuff done but very slowly with lots of rest.
that is the way. Awesome!
i'm going out with june tomorrow. coffee, lunch and one charity shop. weather starting to warm up again. ugh!!
always good for you, a day with June. Enjoy, darling! And take it easy while on the way....
haven't heard back from the medical panel, but it has only been 3 weeks.
I hope they will be quick now. Enough beating around the bush, out with it. It isn't complicated. They only have to decide you are worse off than you claim and should get everything you are entitled to.
okay, don has got dinner on successfully.
good man
what is the shape of your day like? how are things with the boyo?
unresolved as of yet. I was beat yesterday, went to bed very early. Have seen him only in passing and at dinner. I just cancelled the money/bills appointment with cobi, and am gonna cancel the shopping too.
day is gonna be flippin' empty. Can't move :(
poor you, sprite.
ah well, this, too, shall pass. It is not serious. Just hurts.
I love the aa words.
just be careful, my dear. i wish there was some way that the boyo could actually experience your pain.
yeah for 5 mins. It would sure change things.
actually, when you get to sit and talk with him, why not remind him of the pain after his accident. tell him that level of pain is what you experience every day. sometimes the young do'nt understand about pain.
but he has now been through pain and he will remember how wretched he was feeling. it would be a good comparison.
well, I don't need him to treat me like an invalid, tbh. Just the normal courtesy would be nice. He has to learn he cannot stand over people and yell at them.
and he has to learn that when he drops something with a lot of noise, and people ask what happened, they want an answer that tells them what happened. Normal communication, would be enough.
if he understood that his treatment of you causes that level of pain, at least he might pull his horns in.
all you say is true.
yeah I hear ya. Will try and tell him. Will see if I can catch him somewhere today when we both have time.
but at least, rose, it isn't as bad as it used to be. He is doing his chores, he acts relatively normal, doesn't run away, etc.
it's a start. i mustn't overlook that. it is just heartbreaking to he4 about another bout.
:) It is great to have you in my corner, darling
how are you doing with the grid?
5 left
well done.
for some reason, po**ed is not a valid word, lol
fireflies. Smooth sailing today.
WTG SPRITE!!!
sprite, can you please try and explain something for me?
if I can, sure
we have a hamper in our room, on don's sode of the room. why when he takes off his jocks and socks at night, are they left on the floor in front of the hamper?
* side *
from the top of my head, I would say because you trained him that way... by always picking them up. Leave them there until he runs out... :D
lol.....i don't pick them up for him. the next morning he picks them up and puts them in the hamper. why not do it when he takes them off?
oh because he can't be bothered at night. He wants to undress and get into bed. Remember, men focus very well on one task.
lol...like hoping i am still awake?
that too, lolllll. Well, as long as he puts them in the hamper, let him do it at his time, grin.
timer just went off, don is serving up now
ok darling. Go enjoy your dinner. I hope you will ahve a good night again. *hugs*
thanx sweetie. just relax today, okay. let your body and mind heal.
xoxoxox
will do :)
Good morning everyone:)
Crossy! Where have you been?
Hi all.
howdy, sukee:)
I have had internet issues of late:(
Glad you are back.
As am I:)
Having troubles myself the latest update of iTunes messed up and now I can't even delete the old one. Says I don't have permission, when I am the sole administrator.
Nothing I try seems to work.
If you have a separate pw for admin sometimes it seems to default to your pw for turing on your computer profile. Happened to me one. If that fails try a system restore and go back a week or two and see if that helps
once*
Good idea about the restore.
Had forgotten about that :)
I love the system restore feature:) Has saved me lots of headaches in the past
Yes, that helped me get rid of a virus once.
Be right back, time to force medicine in the cat :)
I try to fiddle with admin settings as little as possible because it drives me nuts getting locked out of parts of my own computer:(
That is always fun. should buy some of those pill pocket treats
Done, the syringe works well :)
We have one of those pet syringes as well. Things are also handy for carrying an emergency shot of Jack Daniel's to a boring social function:)
Time to go make breakfast, talk to you later.
The wide bore on those plastic syringes allows for quick injection of of libations of an adult nature into any glass or stein.
I AM GROOT. Sadly, he's not in the dictionary :(
what is "groot"?
Ah - a character from Guardians of the Galaxy. Geek alert!
Never heard of the show:(
Movie :)
This place is a haven for science fiction lovers.
Hello everyone
Howdy, car.
Oh, Groot. He was just a plant.
hi/bye and good cess t'yez all
Argh isn't in the dictonary. It should be - it's how I feel about two aa words I can't find
you are close matty
Hurrah - you are right, crossy!
then for the other one, dbbe up one of the cons
so, dbble vowel, dbble cons, then the two end letters
Thank you again - such an appropriate pair of words for Babble ;)
yes, they are:)
hear the news? Harper lee is putting out a new book. It is to be a sequel of To Kill a Mockingbird. Thing has been sitting in storage and forgotten since she finished it in the 1950's.
anyways, must head to class. Take care all, and happy babbling. poink!
It's interesting that this new book of Haprer Lee's (Go Set A Watchman) was written before To Kill A Mockingbird. Lee's editor liked the first story so much, she asked Lee to write another story, based on Scout's childhood. The manuscript was thought to be lost, until it was discovered in archives last year.
Hi Babblers - Hi Molly - I heard it differently last night - the editor did not like the story so much and asked her to rewrite it from the point of view of the child
hello...stats for the Z? please
za 4/12
hi phaeton
za4/12
hello babblers

hi Annie -
Hi JBV :)
is it thawing out by you, Annie?
yes, I am going to get my car out today. I might have to do some shoveling.

jbv, Is it clearing where you are?
we cleared the driveway on Monday (like shoveling a slushy) - but today there is still a fine glaze of ice
ey 4.6
morning, all
ey 4/6
yesterday from my window it looked clear, so I put on my hat, coat, gloves, boats, the whole 9 yards, but when I opened the door I saw the top half of hte driveway was like a skating rink so I came back in
That's what Im afraid of....ice
ty boyh
and it's still cold - no melting
*both
yes, I don't take unnecessary chances - fortunately I didn't have to go anywhere really important
For walking the dogs I have studded chains on my boots
lol...JBV..just picturing you walking in 'boats' ;-)
ice boats
that's what I needed : )
nbs...but no 7's or 8's yet
I will make an attempt, if too icy, Im back in. I fell last ye4 on ice and it took me weeks to feel better.
Yaktrax...they slip over your shoes or boots and add studded traction to your walking. Invaluable when it's icy out and you have to walk somewhere.
I will look into Yaktrax.....thanks Molly
do yak's have studs on their hooves?
lol
I don't know Phae, I've never checked. Let's not talk about moth balls, okay?
gear
sorry!
Sure Molly...whatever you say
I'll be back later
byem annie.
hagd annie
Anybody got the z?
Add dog noise
Thanks.
I love that z word
I looked up the definition. Not nearly as imaginative as I thought.

Hi Fan. Your icon is one of my favorite paintings.

Yes, it's in Chicago

They have a wonderful art museum.
The painting is quite large.

All those little dots!

"it's utterly indecent that you don't need a glass of po4"
Are you quoting Whitnail and I, Douglas?
My Fair Lady, and it's positively indecent...
Althought po4 is an old ladies drink : D
didnt know it was considered a ladies drink
The old girls in East End pubs used to drink po** and lemon!
I thought that was po**er and lemon
hi all. clue for the 8 please?????????????????

Wow, that's a lot of question marks
fo8/65 compound word, think shoes
RA 6/27?

hi bichon, warmer today, thank goodness
hello everybody, sorry am watching the mentalist and playing, very rude i know but it's season 1 again and i missed most of that one lol
practically balmy
Yes, and less ice. But it's back to snow again tomorrow
Jacq, I love The Mentalist.
same here hego, not sure about the seasons after he got red john though, final season starts this week here
final season was okay. A little different. The early ones were the best, tho.
i agree hego, when he was still looking, very good ones
Don't give anything away hego. Final season starts here soon
I won't
Why is it that good TV shows seem to peter out in their final seasons? Do the writers get lazy or what?
Oh, jacq just said that :)
Molly, good question.
A quick hello from snowy France where the dogs say "oof"
i think it's greed, they take them past their natural conclusion and push it beyond believable
a quick hello from snowy CT
and snowy NJ.
The pups love it and stay outside most of the time
Interesting point Jac. We have been discussing something similar on another board and several people have said they enjoy short run series better than the ones that go on for season after season.
no snow in my wee corner of scotland yet, just lots of wind and rain
They have excellent fur coats.
the good shows have such short seasons -- madam secretary being one, also downton. Hope Granchester sticks around for a while -- like it better than Father Brown
Jacq, that sounds like Scotland okay.
mine are huddled inside
Raffie, especially, has an undercoat that feels like felt and then very long fur over that.
Grantchester is good.
some programs can run on, there is enough variety in the subject matter that they can avoid repetition, but others maybe have a 5 or 6 season run at best before it gets boring
And the lead is so hansome!
handsome!!
reminds me of a young robert redford
better, even
Broadchurch would be a great example, but apparently greed took over because I hear there is a Season 2 coming.
sometimes a season two can be better becuase the actors have had time to mature into their roles too
Oh I thought the actors in Broadchurch were just fine in the first season. And the story that was being told, ended.
true it did have a conclusion, we will have to wait and see what they do ...
They will have a new adventure, I guess.
It is the only British series I have enjoyed. Most of them are the same thing, different venue. Some stuffy detective or doctor doing their thing in a stuffy English country town.
better go do another wee bit of housework will be back to finish (hopefully) later, take care everyone
am addicted to NCIS btw lol
Bye jacq
Me too
Now there's a show that goes on and on.
like the original ncis but not the spin offs
And is still the most watched scripted show on TV.
I watch the original.
I stopped watching NCIS when ZIVA left.
I liked her too. Wish they would bring her back.
I found it too formulaic. The character did their same thing all the time
Bichon, I think that may be the secret of their longevity.
I've watched L&O SVU forever, and I get tired of it too.
The original L &O with Jerry Ohrbach was great
I like Blue Bloods too.
With Sam Waterston
I've watched Criminal Minds forever too
good show
Blue Bloods...I could listen to Tom Selleck read the phone book...
We get endless re-runs of L and O and Special Victims and Serious Crimes. All the Dick Wolf series. I just saw Molly's comment" I dream about Tom Selleck!
lol, it's a good premise too.
Formulaic...that gets tossed around about a lot of TV shows. People say it about 24 too.
Bring back Jack Bauer
He says he won't do it again.
Reruns would do
The other comment I hear about shows like 24 (and now, The Blacklist) is..."It's too complicated, I can't follow the plot"
I like Blacklist. Spader fan.
I guess if you can't play Angry Birds and look at Facebook while a show is on, it's too complicated.
Given the choices here, the Dick Wolf series are always enjoyable and we've had several seasons of Blue Bloods. Have you seen any of the Jesse Stone films with Tom?
I certainly didn't find 24 difficult to follow, but you had to watch every episode for 24 weeks
corot
uh uh
I was thinking of the artis
Does anybody like The Newsroom? Tonight will air the final two episodes
:)
Yes, I was very surprised that more people didn't watch Newsroom. It had a lot going for it
How many seAsons are there?
I watched it early on but got bored.
Just three.
I like the way it integrates real news and names names of politicians
It wasn't a popular hit and HBO really gave up on it
I don't know which season I've been watching
The third is the last.
good night everybody
g'nite Ruby

Howdy again, my babble friends;)
hey crossy
Howdy, turqaz:) I do not see you in the chog very often;)
until last week i hadn't played for some months!
Anyone have any suggestions on a home security system? I found a local one I like, but Dad wants to look national too
A large doberman:)... no, AdT formerly Brinks security is very good
ADT*
or is it ATI?.. they changed their name and I cannot remember
Broadview Security
i can't find an5 or an6. clues, plz?
I will look with you, turqaz
thx!

an + not pro and then add vowel for 6
an 5= Watson! The game's af5!
nm me.. I should not be cluing after that class session today:)
got 'em! thx
Broadview Security has since been acquired by Tyco International[3] and has merged with ADT Security Services.
You were right, crossy
yw, turqaz
So it is now "big brother" in that it has assimilated all the rest of the smaller ones;)
Actually it is more like the Borg I suppose:)
bbl later my friends..poink!
Sorry, I asked a question and disappeared again. Gotta stop doing that.
Hiya Redshoes - I agree with Crossy. A big, noisy dog is as good a deterrent as any fancy-ass alarm system. We used to have a rothweiller (RIP). He was an old pussycat, but he looked the part!
Can't have pets at my place. :( Wish I could move, but I'm not really even paying rent at the moment (building a tab, if you will) and can't afford it.
(Dad's paying for security system)
Ok! I admit - a rothweiller would be pretty hard to hide - unlike a goldfish! Lol.
I live in an isolated rural area, with lots of space, so it was easy to house a big dog. I hope you find a good system at a reasonable price. :-)
Could I get a clue for ra6/27, please?
I found it thanks
I meant the ra6/21 the second one, please?
groupon is not in the crif, and it's not a word. hi all!

Hello Lynn :-)

A in second column is a place to play video games
Thanks Bea! I'm confusing myself here..

Neither is ultracrepidarian
Yeah, what o-o said!
Hi all :)
"I love you pretty baby You're the only love I've ever known Just as long as you stay with me The whole world is my th6"
Hi, Liz
What a great welcome :)
Hi Jaxx
48 more words to find - difficult grid for me.
A teal long distance love affair. lol
lol
real even. This grid is getting to me.
Would've been a better rhyme, if I had still needed that final word!
Hi Liz, jaaxx
Jaxx! How nice to see you.
Hi bichon - hope you're keeping warm in all that snow.
(((soodle)))
It's the first verse of the first song on Bob Dylan's album "Together Through Life"
Hi soodle
You have spoiled the surprise, Doug
thanks, Douglas - knew it sounded familiar - couldn't place it.
fe 6, pls
It's warm in the house, that's about it
And Bich and Liz and Douglas and o-o...

Hi Soods
Hold on to your hat
Jaxx and you just beat me to it!
I bought one for my grand-daughter recently and she looks fantastic in it.
Hello, Soodle
Stylish!
Hi o-o
Hello
I am just going to say Hi all or we'll be here all night. lol
A bracing minus 7 here tonight! Do I care? No I don't. My heating is fixed :-)
Soodle, my dear, how are you?
I'm good thanks for asking, Jaxx. And you?
Ours has developed a longgroan every so often. It sounds as if we are torturing someone. All the use, I reckon, in this freezing weather.
I'm pleased that Orac from Blake's 7 is in the grid
I am soldiering on with my parathyroid problems. They make me feel tired and listless but I now only have to wait until March 6th.
Used to love Blake's 7 - the final episode spoilt my birthday, though!
Turn the last two letters round, Doug, and you have a word from the grid
I go out to my boilerhouse every couple of days, and stroke it & tell it how much I love it. The boiler, that is. I hope to prolong it's life with TLC.
That sounds like the sort of thing I'd do - TLC is good for everything.
My children recently saw the movie Blackfish, and are persuaded that the or4 at Sea World are horribly abused.
Should work, soodle.
There has been a petition on that very subject.
oh, guaranteed! Inanimate objects really respond to the pleas of menopausal old ladies.
Trying to sever the link between travel agencies and the cruelty dished out to those mammals
The bad press for Seaworld in the US has also badly affected our sea world here. That's a shame because ours doesn't have orcas in it and also does a huge amount to help the humpbacks and other wildlife here.
If you heard my boiler shrieking you wouldn't think it was inanimate, believe me
So what is the most interesting word you have found so far?
It has gone past midnight here. I have almost lost the will to live with this grid so I am off to my bed. Night all
