Hi Rose
Hi and hugs Rose - big, big smiles :)
Hi Flosey too.
hi Liz
indeed Liz, haven't stopped
hi flosey, {{hugs}} liz girl. yeah, big smiles is one way of putting it.
Well I emailed the other way!
thanx, i have received so many congrats. it's just lovely the way everyone has been so supportive.
You must feel like a huge weight has been lifted.
liz, as i read the email, i really could feel all the muscles in my shoulders relax...lol
So, so happy for you :)
ditto that, Liz
OK - I delayed my post-gym shower to catch you, Rose, so I'm off to shower. Hugs again. BBL
*silly full ear-to-ear grin * it just keeps breaking out....i am still sort in shock
*waves* see you later
rose, you'll probably wake up tomorrow still wearing that grin
do you really think so?? what a happy thought!
and for weeks to come
thanx flosey.
fw and off to bed, goodnight to anyone still here
WTG FLOSEY!!! sweet dreams, dear
hello, all -what's the good news? why the grin, rose? of course, if it's not any business of mine, say so. :)
rbud, the medical panel have decided workcover is up for major money. i DO have a permanent injury which needs to addressed. workcover have nwhere else to go, not even the supreme court. the medical pabel's word is final.
lol....my typing reflects my excitement....* grin *
oh, that's wonderful!!! what a relief! so glad for you.
so will money be owed to you - or is it medical bills paid? either way it's great!
rbud, workcover has to back pay me for 5 months, plus my medical costs, physio, hydro etc.and then the lawyer is going to take them for 'pain and suffering'
Snicker, snicker at work over.
Cover*
workcover now has to pay me for about another 2 years.
{{hugs}} i haven't stopped grinning. my face is starting to ache.
yes!!! so happy for you!!!! about time they got whipped into line.
it has been 5 months since i have had an income. but i am doing okay.
wonder how long before they turn loose of what's yours, hope it's soon.
rbud, it is now going to my conciliator who makes the decisions how much and what is to be paid. this is the supposed impartial person who told me i had serious;ly been wronged by workcover.
so i wait for the notice that there will be yet another appointment with workcover.
well, glad he/she is on your side - impartially, of course, lol
of course...* grin *
anyone want to lay a bet on the decibels of sprite's squeals of delight when she reads what has happened?
Mega decibels! But you also should've heard us!
Surprised our cheer didn't carry to Melbourne.
roflol...i can imagine. i am still in shock...i knew i had a case, but to have it affirmed, and so quickly by the medical panel was just fantastic.
Good morning. Just reading back at your wonderful news Rose. You must be so relieved.
I just can't tell you how excited we both are for you. So good to have your "rightness" confirmed.
xoxox to your hubby too, liz. please thank him for caring.
Of course we BOTH care!
He's followed the whole saga.
i am thinking we , don and i, must get up your way once the dust settles here.
awwww, bless you both.
Yes please :)
you should hear my bro's comments. all saying wtg sis'...lol
but they know i am a fighter. they have se4 me in action.
Great to have the support.
I'll go back to lurk mode.
and you all have been there for me. through the pain, the tears, the frustrations.
Almost time for dinner here. Hugs, Rose and to sprite too, when you see her.
enjoy, liz. please pass my hugs on to hubby.
Will certainly do that :)
dinner ready for me also. i'll be back ASAP, about 15 minutes. xoxox
good morning all
rose!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the heck back here... I need to hug you!!!!!!! Omg what a wonderful news. Finally acknowledgement of your predicament. About freaking time.
*hugs back at Liz and husband*
* meanders in nonchalantly * what sprite? something happen?
don't you dare nonchalant me :D *HUGS* It is great! I had expected no less, but still... awesome news, darling.
col...thanx darling. as i said, i am still a little shocked, but ever so relieved.
I can imagine... both feelings, lol. It was about time some professionals realised what you have been going through and how much of it could have been prevented by normal precautions at your work.'
of course, don has been very laid back about it...
lol
men... sigh...
my man, or your man?
both!
or all men in general, no matter what the age?
*grin* I sure love them. But some days..... grrrrr.
oh dear!! what has he been up to now?
oh nothing new. Just what I wrote to you. Am sitting here, hardly able to stand up and walk, and I just made the journey downstairs for medicines and coffee... and back upstairs.
oh, darling....that is so naughty. him, not you. and bless you honey, i cannot negotiate stairs too much. they are okay once in a while. but i couldn't do it everyday.
feeling sorry for myself and hating the idea I have to keep going until friday afternoon, and then I still have to shop and cook too :(
my bedroom/computer room is upstairs. I have to negotiate the stairs several times a day.
awww, honey. can't the kids do the shopping at least?
yeah will see what I can arrange.
sprite, how about two supplies of your meds? and a thermos of coffee? might save you a couple of up and downs.
I already have my evening meds next to my bed. I have been thinking of getting my own water cooker though. With a mug and my coffee, I could make myself a fresh cuppa here.
exactly, and no need to negotiate the stairs all the time. i have two stashes of meds at the opposite ends (sort of ) of the house.
at least no cooking tonight. I had Rob bring us a couple of pizzas that we can shove into the oven tonight.
good thinking, sprite.
Gooooooooooood morning fellow Babblers xx
morning worzel
Morning Aunty Sprite xx
yay worzel...xoxox son
Morning Mum xx
:)
MORNING DIANNE!!! just in case she is out of hearing...lol
She's still in bed lmao x
*kom uit de bedstee, mijn liefste* Sorry, dutch song, grin
how dare she?? i'm here, sprite's here, you're here....tell her to come over to the dark side. we have cookies...
*grabs cookies* Mine!
Her counter argument to that would be "I have a duvet and pillow" lol
*smacks sprite's fingers* naughty, naughty
*crawls under Dianne's duvet with all the cookies* Nananannaaaanaaa
I shall be popping out to the kitchen shortly to get bacon sandwiches. Anybody care to partake?
tell her that's not a marshmallow she's chewing on, it's the duvet....lolol
yes please. Bacon. Good stuff.
I do believe that, even though I am non religious, bacon is the food from the gods. Manna, if you will lol
ooooohh, i had bacon at lunch, along with a three cheese omelet, cooked in butter. could hear the arteries hardening.
ooo i haven't had marshmallows for years. We used to call them flumps when I was a child lol
I am pro God. Just anti religion. Bring on the bacon. And the cookies. Amen.
omg rose! That sounds so decadent! Lovely.
Who cares about arteries lol - as long as you can enjoy your food whilst travelling through this life that's all that matters!
for goodness sake, don't tell crossie, he'll bring out the maple syrup...
flumps? Hm, good word.
Yes, there used to be a brand called "Flumps" over here in the 70s/80s and they were tubular shaped marshmallows. Pink ones and white ones. Delicious!
you have to indulge, occasionally. Otherwise the whole watching your diet thing becomes boring.
you all ever played chubby bunnies? you start with a bag of large marshmallows, and a group of idiots with no gag reflex.
Mum I remember when I went to the USA they seemed to put maple syrup on almost anything! Mind you, I have cinnamon cakes to thank them for.
My sister would be good with the no gag-reflex thing
just saying like lmao
hm no, can't say it sounds familiar. But please tell more, it sounds promising, lollll
you put a marshmallow in each cheek and say chubby bunnies. you keep adding a marshmallow until your eyes start to water, and you can't say chubby bunnies.
when I work at my gag reflex inhibition, I sure can't say chubbie bunnies.
last one standing, so to speak, is the winner. sprite this is not for you and i.
i'm kinda glad that nobody spotted my rude comment there, i have to say! I regret saying it now! lol
be nice about your sister, worzel!
son....saw it...and agree with your sis.
awww she'd be the first one to laugh, trust me. Me and her have the same rather rude sense of humour. Love her to pieces!!
Could I say hubbie chummies? Nope, neither. But still.
* snorts into drink* oh my, sprite
*grin* I am rude too, worzel... though in a rather subtle way. *blinks innocently*
If you're going to be my aunt and Mum's spiritual sister I think you'll have to learn to be less subtle. What say you Mum? lol
oh, yeah....subtle.....NOT
lolllllll
but i loves ya, sprite.
I know, rose, and it is mutual :D
nah if I were less subtle, drG would kick me from babble, methinks
oooo i got an 8!!!
no accounting for taste, right?
<--- jelly
wow, son. well done, mate
I know! TY! There are some lovely words in this grid today
nope rose, too true. Ah well, let's be honest... if we were loved by everybody, we'd be so freakin' boring!
i couldn't believe it, i found both 9's on my own today.
oh wow, good job
well done mum x
when i found the two related 8's i could hardly type the words....i kept thinking...i'm wrong, i'm wrong.
*can barely contain the suspense*

Right, I'm away to awaken the sleeping beauty. I shall return . . . *semi-poof*
*wonders what dianne did to deserve being woken up*
um I think breakfast is ready, and warm...

hi Liz! *hugs* to you and your husband.
*zips fingers*
Being a bit anti social here - hubby sister and partner have arrived!
sometimes you just need a bit of me time, even when you have guests
Very true!
and I don't think it is anti social, lol... you are being social with us. Redistribution of socialness, I'd say
but hubby appreciates the opportunity to re-establish relationship with sister and her hubby, i am sure.
sorry...partner...*rolls eyes* if it is a long te\4 relationship, they are hubby and wife.
Perhaps.
Might disappear to skype step mum in a minute! Been trying to catch up with her for a while!
see? Very social, Liz :)
Lol

Stuck with 25 left but I'll get there!

fireflies. Last words bo6/7 the baby shoes.
You were right with your word Marty - change the final vowel
WTG SPRITE!!!
Congrats :)
our frogs say kwaak. Your frogs say ribbit-ribbit
Sorry Matty - auto correct

matty. bl6. bl + your cr****, in between your legs.
Oh, stupid me!!!
I will slink into my corner now
a little coarse i admit...* shrug*
matty is NOT stupid
bad rose. See, how subtle I was? Hm?
it is babble blindness, matty! Not stupidity. Can't play this game without being afflicted by it sometimes.
huh?? oh, yes...sprite was subtle....everyone, mark it on the calendar...lolol
Thing is, I had the bo5/18 which kind of goes with the bl6. Arrrgggghh
hmmmphhhh
I am being a cr6/21
hehehe well let's be honest, that whole bottom right quadrant is kinda dead. Hard to spot words that go there.
now matty, the aarrgh was in the last grid, dear. please don't confuse the grids...lol
That was the shortest Skype call in the world!!!!
That was the shortest Skype call in the world!!!!
sprite, cement is there, just missing the vowels...
aarrghh would be valid too, did you know?
Haaa, rose - you are right!
And I bet my goodbyes were lost in cyberspace.

good morning everyone:)
Oh well. Shall go hose down this mass of muscle then I shall be back to see if there is any life about:)... semi-poink!
good morning dear friends
Hi Trif, did you get much snow?
miles
so sick of it I can't even tell you, and it's coming again. Another fo4 by TuesdaY.
I'm a new England gal born and raised, but this is getting to even me.
I am sick of it also. Went out yesterday and walked thru slush and ice patches. We expect some snow Thursday into Frday. It is a bit much.
there is no place to put more.
lots of snow here, but no slush at minus 15c;)
Looking out the window I see that we also got another fo4 of fresh powder for our skiing friends;)
I will say, New Englanders crack me up for that very reason - when they announced that the big dump was coming, HUNDREDS of people headed for the ski mountains - "if we are going to get stuck anyway, let's get stuck SKIING!!!"
We are almost the same way. We say "now that the citiots are stuck up on the hill for a few hours we have the town back till mid-day"
citiots....hehe
:)
I'm so behind on stuff because of all the snow days that it isn't even funny. I am going to finish the week behind. I HATE that
I live on the coast in S E England and we have DFL's - down from London!!
lol. I have not been caught up with the laundry since 2010
Our school is okay, because we start in August, but schools that start after Labor Day here are sweating it - they are either going to have to give up a spring vacation, or go into July to get their 180 days in
My brother in law used to say - about his wife- I don't mind the ironing basket the only problem is t5hat it leaves damp patches on the ceiling!!
I think the whole "180 days" thing needs to be reconsidered in years when there is a lot of bad weather. Shaving off a few days here and there would not be the end of the world, nor detrimental to any child's education.
Our schools are going to start to add internet class-time to make up for lost day as needed. Will have a camera feed for the teachers, and assignments will be sent via e-mail
but only if it looks like they are not going to meet the class-time target number
To be honest, we don't do a damn thing of educational merit the last few days of school.
.....and the principal just walked in the library....sigh
Party time is over:(
actually, she is very nice....I'm just sure she can read my monitor from 40 feet away with her "educator eyes" and will see what I said about the last days of school
ha!
Our principal is in charge of three schools so you almost never see her.
red shoes, are you okay?
Any principle worth their salt knows that what you said about the last days of school is true
is the tr 8 a compound?
Or principal, or principled principal
I would run the school year for an extra week then just to make up for those lost last few days:))
No Trif
Been talk of year-round schooling anyways.
arrgh molly
Sort of. No physical damage. Went to court this week and he was released on bail ($76,000) with the condition that he is on house arrest at his mom's about an hour away and wears an ankle monitor. My dad ordered a security system yesterday and my roommate is moving out. I'd move but my landlady has been very flexible with me and I can't afford to pay real rent right now.
got em! thanks molly for the nudge
Anyways, they say it is not good to talk to yourself too much so I best head off to class. Take care all, and happy babbling!...poink!
I'm glad my kids are all out of the school system. I have no use for year-round schooling
it works very well in warm climates, molly
red shoes, sounds like things are done to protect you. Im glad of that. Maybe talking to a therapist might help.
Real rent? How do you pay fake rent? : D
I have started going to counseling. I'm sort of building a tab right now for rent, paying what I can when I can.
Wow, you must have the best landlady ever
yep
Speaking of paying rent...I've got to get ready for a job. Later party people!
THIS JUST IN - Easter is on April Fool's Day this year....good luck finding the eggs I only SAID I hid, kids!
bell is going to ring...see ya!
the mah jongg game is here today but in the meantime Im going to make chicken soup..see you all later
I made chicken soup last night. I don't know why I waited so long to get a 1.5 quart crock pot. It makes just the right amount of soup for two people without a ton of leftovers.
Easter is April 5th
Thank you Phae, I was wondering about that
I think someone April fooled Trif early : D

Good Afternoon Everyone!
hi nef...
hi pen, how are you doing today?
Woo, You have LOTS of snow (reading back through chog)
That was WOW, not Woo. Not sure if it's me or the keyboard having problems today...
yes, way too much snow....roads have been awful for over a week...
I've been very glad I'm retired lately; not so much the snow; but rather the other crazy drivers (in rush hour)
yes, i am glad that I don't really have to go anywhere if the weather is bad....my tai chi class was cancelled today...
(I Love eses in the middle of a grid!) :-)
i am down to my last word...
Starting to get cabin fever? DH has had it bad lately with us being sick; so yesterday (& both of us now well) we went out a did some shopping (hadn't been grocery shopping all month!). So Now he wants to go again! (It was his birthday yesterday, I had to be nice)
WTG, penquis!
i have still gone out over the last week....just not fun...had an appointment at Social Security yesterday, had lunch with my bro, went to the grocery store, and then to my chinese class....
it was nice not having to go anywhere today....
i was supposed to go to lunch with friends and then the opera, but the weather nixed those plans...
I know what you mean, pen. There are days that it's nice to get out, but I also like being at home
Opera? What were you supposed to see?
Are they rescheduling it or will you get a refund (or what?)
Merry Widow....it was a postponed showing because of the blizzard we had last week....so no, won't get a refund....
Merry Widow....it was a postponed showing because of the blizzard we had last week....so no, won't get a refund....
was it a traveling opera company?
no, it's a rebroadcast of the Met production in HD...
hello
hi....
Ah. Here I was thinking about how much money a touring company would loose with this horrid weather.

So now, the temp here is 20 (F) but the wind cill puts us back to zero again.
