ugh, it was tough. It started with a fight with son, then progressed to (what are the odds!) meeting my mother in the waiting room. But the treatment itself was doable. They were very kind, and Rob held my feet to give me comfort and that helped to keep me grounded.
must go back though, in half a year, to have my old fillings removed and replaced. Dentist says they are too old, and amalgame, and they are leaking mercury ions in my blood. Which is poison.
Lovely of Rob. Knew he'd be there for you. 6 months is also doable. Rob will be there again. Better than mercury in you!

yeah, that is true. I have promised to go and get it done. Lol, the dentist said he had 'cured' several people from pain in their knees, just by replacing their fillings. Now that sounds good to me!

the revision knee was the 6th lot of workcover related surgeries.
nobody is going to hire me...my body is breaking down. even our social services says i am now disabled.
yes sweetie, once they are out of procedures, they will have to pay lots to you and they do everything to keep that from happening. As I said, it is up to your lawyer now. Some judge should be able to say they are harassing you and it should stop here and now.
anyway, as i said, i am fortunate that i am NOT dependent on their money. i can wait them out.
oh and remember, rose... when telling workcover doctors about your injuries and how they affect your life and functioning... add 50%, because they automatically detract at least that much from whatever you tell them... since they are used to fakers.
yes, you are lucky that way, rose, and I am ever so glad. Their delaying tactics would drive most people to despair and willing to accept any token payment just to be able to eat and pay their rent.

I don't understand some doctors. A friend in the US almost ran out of insulin and couldn't get her doctor to call it into the pharmacist.

Can't you tell a secretary or receptionist how much pain you are in? I know it's probably the same here that they won't let you talk to the doctor on the phone.

ruby...you have a history of needing analgesia. any doctor can write up a prescription for your pain meds.

For those who have been following my educational escapade and heard me rant the other day about time limitations on the University prerequisite English final exam, I go the mark back yesterday... 92%...Yaaaa!

howdy trif:) Although, I am still not sure of the final mark for the class itself. I went into the exam with an 88%, the exam itself is worth 30% of the total mark, and as I said I got 92% on the test itself. I do not know exactly what that all boils down to. Math is not my thing:)

It's official. I'm a little too logical. A million monkeys wouldn't type Shakespeare. Monkeys can't type. As for nbt and nbs, they are made up statistics. I understand that not everyone finishes. The point of the game is not to finish. It's to "find as many words as you can"

My tidbits and other musing are also not needed for the game, but many enjoy it, and I also get requests for it if i am lax in adding them.
I just enjoy working the grid and chatting in chog. For me (at least) saying these things in chog may stimulate other players to chat.The number of points I have no longer matters to me since I rarely finish a grid. I enjoy the people and conversations here.
I used to try and finish, but nowadays My aim is more what Molly said, just find as many words as I can.
Of course, even the chat is not "needed" We can all babble away in our own little bubbles if that is what we desire:)
Finishing is not longer a top concern for me.
But I love watching the chat

It's just a word game. Some people are interested in finishing, some seem more interested in chatting than actually playing. However it works is fine.

So, 88% going into the exam, the exam itself is worth 30% of the total and I got 92%. I think it will all boil down to a final mark between 85-90 percent:)

There are times that I want to chat & not find words; but that doesn't last long. And, there are times that I slide the window off the right side of the screen so I don't see the chat log (I usually do this until I get NBT) because I don't want hints.

Not, sure Chrissie. I have the overall marks to get some grants/scholarships if i wish to go on, but we shall see. of the 8 classes I took, only one was below 90% and that was 88%. So I have some options.

I was allowed to to do the second part of the exam after I protested the time allowed. (last year students were allowed 4 hours, and this 2 hour limit was a new thing)

Everyone has a different idea of what the chat is for. Some people use it strictly to ask for clues. Some people use it as a personal blog for every minute detail of their lives. Some people just like to chat about current events or joke around. Being able to remove chat from your screen works if what is going on in chat is of no interest to you.

Pleurisy takes a long time to heal. I had it once and it's awful. I never took pain medication for it though.

not sure what kind of arrangement they have re medical care -- when I lived and worked in France, I once had to have emergency surgery for a strangulated hernia-- back in my room i overheard one of the nurses saying the surgeon must have been angry at his wife while he was operating on me

the thing I would NOT do in France was get dental work done -- when my ex and I arrived in the US, we had to take him to our dentist to have lots of work redone that had been handled in France

Hello all. Strength to all who need it!! I was reading an inspirational magazine yesterday. Carrie Ten Boom (a Dutch woman) said that Worry about the future does'nt take the sorrow from what will happen and worry about today takes the strength out of the present. Interesting way to look at situations.
Peri, she is, but so is the mother. Today, I was checking her BP, I use an automatic cuff, and the arm needs to be in a particular position. I always hold the resident's arm in place, gently, but still. So after I took the cuff off, she "whiped" her hand off (where I was touching her) and said yuck!
