Gooooooooood morning fellow Babblers xx
yahoo, worzel. hello my dearest man. how are you both? xoxox
Good morning Mum! We are both good and getting ready for a day out shopping. How are you and Dad ? xx
both doing okay, thanx. we hope to collect our brand new car this week. such a buzz!!
Wow nice one x I haven't driven a car for nearly five years now. Gives you such a sense of freedom doesn't it?
deacon
oh crap sorry lol
np's worzel, you were just asking after grandson no. one, right?
no. = number...
don't follow you there lol
oh now i get you!!!
our first grandson's name is de6...
he's not slow, he's my son .....
ma5/16 shouldn't be allowed - it's capitalised
Mum do you ever come on here at the other end of your 24 hours? I mean, I come on here in the morning (UK morning) and sometimes about 12 hours later in the evening. I never see you, just wandered x
usually come on at the flip for about 4-5 hours.
It's just that some of the people on here at the other end of the day are quite miserable sods really lol. One in particular was moaning the other night about people using the chatlog and complaining about people's mundane lives. I felt like telling her to turn the ****ing log off - she was really annoying me lol
and sometimes for about 1-2 hours before flip.
now son, it takes all kinds to keep this world of ours spinning. let them complain....maybe it makes them happy.
To be fair, though, she was continually sniping at the other players. If someone's got an issue with the chat they should just turn it off. It actually went on for about 1/2 hour and several people told her to turn off the chatlog and she said "why should I?" (fair enough) but then someone asked her to stop moaning at them and she also said "why should I?". It was quite rude really. I mean, I like a good moan but I try not to snipe at people lol x
absolutely, wor. and it sounds like the other babblers were handling appropriately.
I just kept me gob shut - an extreme rarity for me!!
Right I'm gonna pop off for a bit go and get some breakfast (or brekkie as I believe my antipodean friends call it!!) see you soon Mum xx
xoxox to you both
and to you both (Di sends her lovexx) see you soon xx
Good morning, everyone:)
Just a quick note that the emails continue to flood my email in-box, and I promise I shall get to them all. Babblers are the best!
and now it is time for the staggeringly popular Crossy's tidbit of the day!!!!!
Pistacchios Are dangerous to ship and if not stored proerly will spontaniously combust!! Pistachios have a tendency to self-heat, so storing too much of them together might be dangerous. It is recommended that pistachio kernels should not be stowed together with fibers or fibrous materials, because the oils accumulated by the pistachios might promote self-heating and spontaneous combustion. Another thing that is important is that pistachios have to be as dry as possible, because just a little bit of moisture can start the self-heating process. To prevent it, you might also want to transport pistachios in low temperatures so that the process doesn't start and you don't have a bunch of fiery nuts in your hands.
Crosshair - a plethora of info - thank you . . :)
Well i am amazed at that one, Crossy.Never knew that!
:)
Morning all.
Howdy, sukee
Hello, Sukee :-)
Hello, Crossy :-)
Uh, oh. And what happens when pistachios travel through our guts?
it is be kind to your nuts day.
I see that.
Hello, Sugrraleona ;-)
guess i will be getting lots of kindness then
Something to think about, scrabby:))
Oh hahaha I like that one, Scrabs!
I didn't know all that about pistachios. I thought their noses just got longer when they told lies.
I have soe dry roasted peanuts here, Crossy. But i am not going to be kind to them..lol
:)
lol
LOL nice one, Jwr :-)
The only nuts I like these days are cashews.
Some*
mmm..cashews....
My favorite nut = almonds.
Expensive as all heck for Planters brand! Almost 8 dollars for a tin!
I go bulk :)
My favorite nuts are some of the people who come a-chatting in the chog
LOL
You are on fire today, Jwr!
Well them, JWR, you shall never run out of nuts:)
I have good role models
then*
I am glad I can be of service:)
I do like grilled flaked almonds, Scrabs, So yummy.
Yes, jwr!
sometimes you feel like a nut...
mmm.. toasted almond slivers on Cinese beef stir-fry...
You always are, crossy
Chinese*
I remember that chocolate bar commercial, sukee:)
My husband is married to a very rare NUT
oh no, not more food. It's 3:46 in the am. going hungry back to work, thinking about nuts with moustaches and detachable body parts. as usual - hi/bye and good babbling all.
lol tc, jwr
Have a good day/night, Jwr :-)
There we go. JWR will never look at a shipment of pistachios the same way again:)
Hairy-nosed dolphin alert!
I always forget that one.

Tired today, I think I woke up every hour last night.
Must be worried about something, Sukee.
Cant think of anything really.
Maybe be spring fever :)
It has started to warm up here.Spring is on its way!
It is :)
Our snow is melting. :-( Cross-country skiing will come to an end soon. Boohoo.
Time to get ready for work. Bye kids.
Have a good day at work, Scrabs :-)
Springtime here as well. Going to go all the way up to 5C!!
Take care
I hope it is sunny today. It was overcast here all day yesterday. But the mildness is a welcome relief.
É
Better than the -c I suppose. Can't wait for clocks to go forward on the 29th March.
My keyboard has gone French again :)
É
Our clocks already went forward.
Yes I saw some people posting that here and in jigidi :-)
lol, sukee. Use the keyboard icon in task bar and get it off french Canadian and use U.S
I dont have it on my task bar
mm.. I will find another way.. 1 sec
Okay, I added it. It is set on US.
?
And it worked lol
cool:)
You can also go to control panel and select regional language setings
Today may be the day the cat goes out on the balcony. He has threatened over the past couple of days but if there his a hint of wind he won't go out.
Ours are indoor kitties. Too many flat cats pasted on the road that runs outside of our place.
Well, we are on the 9th floor.
I have edging so he can't slide underneath and he never jumps up.
lol. that helps
We are on ground floor and have a patio
unfortunately people above seem to take great delight in duping crap off their balconies
dumping
Beer bottle, empty smoke packs, water, dust, dirt, broken glass they just sweep it over instead of using dust pan
Yes they do that here too. I heard someone complaining to the super about dog dropping being swept off onto their balcony. I get the odd cigarette butt or paper.
And, there is what looks like a teatowel on my balcony now.
Soon, once the mound of snow outside my patio door is gone, I will have to go out there with 2 or 3 garbage bags and a rake and clean it all up
Well, we have landscape guys who seem to clean it up.
I would like to move to a first floor apartment though. Hopefully with my next apartment.
Amazes me why people act like that.No respect for others at all.
I do not hold my breath for that round here. Too much dangerous broken glass laying round every spring
But, saying all that I LOVE my first floor apt
Would like not to have to worry about elevators and fire alarms, etc :)
The mrs has a bistro table all set up and some solar night-lights and a small outdoor rug. It is quite nice to sit out there with a cuppa in the morning and enjoy the sunrise
Nice.
I have a table but don't sit out much, the highway is too close.
I have been in this place 21 years now and have used the elevator exactly twice:)
Plus I do not have to schlep the recycle bins all the way down:)
Have a friend on the 4th floor that annoys me to no end. She just dumps all the recycle down the garbage chute with everything else;(
I admit I have done that occasionally. I do have 3 bags filled with recycling I still need to take down though :)
it is amazing. We are a family of three, and we fill one of those standard sized blue bins twice a week!
I have 3 year old wine bottles...
lol. Saving them for a rainy day?
I clean it all up once in a while :) I am determined this spring to finally get rid of all the recycling and keep taking it down at least weekly.
I also have a pile of half chewed cardboard boxes I have to throw out too.
My mobility issues put me off :) I know, lousy excuse.
Did you run out of food, Crossy..lol
Breakfast time, talk later.
Run out of food??.. no, lots of food. I just make it my mission to recycle everything possible
I even rinse out toothpaste tubes and recycle those
Sorry that was meant for, Sukee. When she said she had half chewed cardboard.I was just being silly..lol
lol. got you:)
She has a nasty cardboard habit:) Time for an intervention;)
lol
I some parts of the UK they have about five different bins to put recycled rubbish into foe collection each week/two weekly cycles.
good morning friends. Quelle horreur - I am OUT OF COFFEE
it is the way to go. We all have to catch up with Sweden
NO COFFEE???!!
NO COFFEEE
OMG!
Could try a nice cup of tea!
lol, my beloved is a coffee feind, but I am more of a tea person.
Coffee hurts crossy's tummy:(
I only have herbal tea on hand. Still adjusting to time change, and teaching extra class after school. This is NOT going to be a good day
Same here, Crossy.Do like a nice cup of tea :-)
Well, I must head to class. The kids have 2 days to get all their work in before the exam, and it is panic time!!
wahoo for panic! have a good one, crossy dear
tc all and happy babbling!
Come on, Trif, think positive thoughts. It is going to be a great day.The children will all behave :-)
Have a good one,Crossy :-)
you haven't spent much time in a middle school, have you zooz? lol
I did for a bout fours years, Trif :-)

Howdy, alloy. I am sitting at the school now, and it is the last 2 days before the exam. The attrition rate is terrible. Out of a starting class of 30 students we are are sitting here today with 5 survivors. the rest have been dropped or they have quit:(.. sorry six students. One just showed up, sat down, and promptly fell asleep at his work station;(

ok...why is my local news showing me breaking news of a tanker truck fire on I-94 in Dearborn, MI? Not enough bad news locally today?
We use that phrase in our family...it equals "me too"
I see Ruru.
Hey TO
This grid is making me blind as well. pass me a cane:)
hi hego. snow gone yet?
I heard the most upsetting news yesterday. 4 ODs from heroin in the same town in MA since Thursday :(
pretty much
The heroin situation is scaring the crap out of me as they have now produced some that looks like candy.
mine is lingering under the clothesline. I am itching to get to that line - spring cleaning is beginning.
If I had young kids, I would feel the same, Car.
RO 6/24? please.
it is a bad drug, and big in the burbs and with working people. drugs go in and out of fashion and it is the drug odu jour in the east.
Heroin?
Horrible.
My son is in rehab out in Utah awaiting his court date.
I am so sorry to hear that Gramma.
heroin and coke are equally bad.. both scary drugs
Heroin is making a huge comeback I read
I will keep him in my prayers.
60% of American paper money bears traces of cocaine.
It has been many years and this is his 5th rehab. He really seems to want to be sober. He just can't accomplish it yet.
Rur it's very cheap.
Good morning to everyone signed on recently....just reading the last few comments and this drug situation makes me sad too :-(
Gramma hugs to you and yours. It's a tough road.
His is a lost generation. Way too many of his friends have died and left families, wives, husbands and little children to plow on without them.
One of my granddaughters ( age 23 ) told me that oxycodone is major problem with the young people in our community.
That's how it starts.
phila police have just been quipped with the antidote pen. One cop brought back two in ten days.
When the doctors cracked down on Oxy people found heroin
After all this "education" and "awareness" it makes me shudder.
My son was given oxy in college for a sports related injury and quickly became addicted
I must go. Best to All today.
You too.
Then the same doctors who helped feed this epidemic have washed their hands of the addicts. They won't treat them.
Something similar happened to my friend's nephew...got injured in the Gulf, they put him on oxy, and now he is in jail for robbing a bank.
Scary news. I have 2 grandsons (14 and 16) really scary to read this.
Have a great day, hego ! I'm also going..... to take pictures of all the blooms that are popping up all over here in my home away from home!
I know, Annie.
Kids don't fear heroin like we did.
Oooh! Have fun Diane!
But that is what puzzles me...why not? People are dropping like flies from the stuff.
Young kids think they are indestructible and immortal.
They sometimes like to walk the edge. They think they are better than the drug. Surprise, it gets you.
But all the education and awareness, etc is supposed to point out that they are NOT indestructible. Something is failing along the way.
I think peer pressure plays a big role. Showing off
I just don't get it.
And I did a LOT of stupid stuff as a teen.
Remember the movie Reefer Madness? When we discovered that was a joke all bets were off. Drugs became fun and recreational tools.
If I may interject........I have been taking classes in child and youth development......they now know that the teenage brain is physiologically and psychologically different from the adult brain.......our logic is different from theirs
okay, I need to get back to work so I can earn the money to pay for another rehab stint. How about a clue for my last word? RO6, please.
I don' t have it yet...looking....
gramma, I wish your son succeeds this time.
Have to scoot...HAGD {{hugs}} all around
bye car.
bye, car and all. library time.
Thank you. I pray for him all the time. He will ptobably end up in prison. He was caught shooting heroin in a bathroom at a mall. He had 2 twists on him so the charges went from a 3rd degree felony to a 2nd degree - intent to distribute - then bumped to a 1st degree because the mall is a drug free zone. So possibly 3o years in prison! Same as rapists and murderers. Utah has a problem and they are very strict. It breaks my heart.
bye Owl
so sad to read this, gramma. hang in there.
I have to. It's hard and it affects the whole family. Only one sibling will still talk to him. So much hurt and pain.
See you all later. Sorry I jumped in and dragged everyone down.
You didnt drag anyone down. We all pray and feel for you.
Hi all, I haven't jumped in probably close to a year. I don't know if anyone even remembers me. I just have to say, Gramma that my heart breaks for you. As much as us Baby Boomers grew up in a drug culture with a party mentality, "hard" drugs was a red line most of us didn't cross. What changed?
Well, It's good to be back, but I must run. Gramma, you and your son are in my prayers.

LOL! I was using "damn"! TY
lol...I call that a medium expletive !
And clues please for CA 6/24 and CA 6/24 are also needed.
Please and thank you.
just getting to my D's now
ca 6 is ca - vowel - medical suffix usually meaning tumour or swelling
Tyvm
ca 8 is putting the previous ca into a past tense action or describing something IN one
I have that CA 6 and 8, but thank you!
what other ca did you mean? You asked for two ca 6/24s
Oh good grief! I'm sorry! The CA 6/27

TY for all of your help today!
We tried an Irish cheese today from Trader Joe's. It's a cheddar with porter mixed in so it looks like stained glass windows. Very sharp and nice.
Yummmers
Clue please for RO 6/24?
I like trying foods for the first time. I don't think I would like the Mars trip as I think they will have a boring diet.
no ros yet.
I'm down to 3, so let me know if I can assist you.
OK...down to 1...

sometimes being a perfectionist really sucks!

Oh, and the surgeon doesn't reccommend surgery for my shoulder! (which I basically knew would be the case, but still...)

hello mimi....type under the grid where it says "Add Word"....
Would someone please clue the o in the 3rd column, second row? Apparently i'm blind...
or 4...uses two high point letters...
or 4/5....
Thank you!
the 4/5 is the second one...
Didn't know either of those words...thanks!
yw....one is an antelope....don't know what the other one means...
something to do with the mouth...just looked at the definition.
ah...never heard of it...
but i have seen it here before...
i'm sure...it was my only blank tile, and i just couldn't see anything. Hard grid for me.
not a fun one....
lots of vowels...
can I have a clue for the O in the far right column?
It looks like "stubborn", but missing a letter.
meant that it means stubborn, not "looks like"
OC 5/12 think of large amounts of water

anyone here with computer expertise?
what do you need, pen?
i have a laptop...and the cursor will activate a link when it is on that spot whether i have clicked on it or not....driving me crazy....
the laptop is only about 6 mos. old...
I have had the issue too. I usually restart, and that fixes it for a while. That said, google the problem using your laptop's brand name, and see what solutions others have come up with. Another thing I did was not use the cursor pad when I was on a page with a lot of links, which is not a solution.
Wish I could be of more help, sorry.
no problem....thanks for the tips....i have googled but need to be more specific....got lots of Apple posts...mine is a Dell....
Have you checked your mouse settings in your control panel?
god idea, molly!
maybe your laptop needs a lapdog
nomein: chinese noodles without pork, chicken, beef or tofu
yes, i have checked them and they were pretty much centered....
How Chu Mein?
I have four blank tiles - all of them Os. How crazy is that?
oops! make that 3
2
ok - I'm halfway and nbs, but could I get a clue for either lone O?
My guess is that you disabled your mouse by accidentally hitting a keyboard function. If you look around at "turn on mouse using keyboard functions" you might find what you are looking for. Also, Dell help boards may be of some use.
bottom o - O5 - sea
aah! ty
my touch pad works ok....only problem is that when the cursor comes to rest on something, it often works as if i had clicked there (e.g., opens another window)....it seems to click on it's own!...not always but often enough to aggravate....
The other lone O is an O4
got it!
nbt ty
go, harry!
That kind of issue gets resolved in your Device Settings in your Control Panel.
44 to go....bbl
any suggestions as to what direction to move the markers in the touchpad settings?
Thanks, Molly -- I will try that on my laptop.
CA 6/24?
RECAN
hello 43 to go
go, Harp, go!
my cursor just hopped into the chat box must be all the computer talk going on!!! Sorry
phan, it looks like a medical word. ca + vowel + sarc***
hah!
clue for no6/27 please?

sigh, I see there are more than one 8/60. I was refering to the first one... I don't think it does build off the first 6
the other de8 is related to ten years, I think. I don't have the 6
there is a 5 before the de8, not related
I am just not seeing it.
the first de 8 builds off the de 6 before it...uses high point letter..
I am just not seeing it.
the second de 8 does not build off the word before it...
