Both parents died at this time of year too.
ugh....now that is difficult to bear.
Sad.
It sort of affected Passover for me too.
poor you, liz girl. i so empathise with you darling.
Thanks. Like I said though, I'll get over it.
I could understand that, Liz
when we lost both mothers 2013, it made christmas for us a very sad time.
My mum actually died during Passover
and liz?? you don't need to get over it. in your own time dear you will be able to move through this time of year a little more easily.
Anyway enough of that :)
Of course it's much easier than it was but it gets to me sometimes.
liz, did i tell you what don bought for me for my birthday?
Tell me, tell me
seasons 1, 2 and 3 plus the christmas episodes of ' call the midwives' plus a beautiful evening bag in my favourite shade of purple.
Wow! How lovely.
i can't wait to use the bag when we go to the neil diamond concert.
Is your favourite purple very deep or pale?
When's that?
*giggle* any shade of purple is my favourite...
the concert is in october
My fav is really deep purple. My very favourite colour.
I hope you'll have opportunity to use it before then!
any shade of purple, and almost any shade of pink. dusky pink, ashes of roses...you name it.
Happy I wished you HB in pink then!
my matron of honour wore a deep purple suit in crepe, my flower girls wore tulle and velvet in three shades of purple and two of pink.
Sounds beautiful. And you?
i wore cream, in exactly the same style of suit as my matron of honour.
could I have clues on the du5's, please?

This morning I proved once again that writers are totally insane. I woke up with a start at 04:30 with an entire short story fully formed in my mind. I have been out here since then frantically pounding it out on the keyboard least it vanish back into dreamland:)
OK last clue I need bi5, please?
Awesome! Good luck with that. Once those creative juices are flowing, nothing will stop you.
Good luck.
Like Stephen King once said when asked why does he write; his response was classic "What makes you think I have a choice?"
marc, spelled like yi5, to give in
I get cranky if I don't do at least some writing each day.
thanks how did I miss that?
I am so busy with the students at school now that my writing time has suffered a bit, but it is great fun even so.
Ty again granny, gave me 2 :)
Hi kids.

Hi scrab
Howdy, scrabby
Hi Scrabbs

Almost time to run, take care all.
Bye sukee
Have a good day Sukee
sukee, run free, my dear
nice to see you scrabbler
Born free...free as the wind blows....
That old movie is right up there with Old Yeller:)
Loved the book and movie.
Do not mind me as I am still working on my first tea. My mind like to tour the outer limits when i am half-awake. I actually do some of my best writing when in this state. the old grey matter is not clogged up with the days cares and schedule yet.
Taking a break. iPad battery running low. Hugs to all.
tc liz
i have just finished ' out of africa ' it was very hard going. currently reading ' brideshead revisited'.
xoxox liz girl.
I enjoy lucid dreaming. If I wake up in the morning, then doze and resume sleep, I have some fascinating dreams in which I know that I am dreaming so I am the director.
Bye Liz
I am not sure what my next read is going to be... I know I have "Infinite Jest" by David Wallace on my short list, but I am not sure if I want to get into something so massive and dark just yet.
I am finally reading "Pillars of the Earth." I am about 1/3 through--973 pages.
I also have game of Thrones still to tackle
I would like to read that series someday too--how many are there now?
Though I try to avoid "flavors of the month" until they are no longer flavors of the month
5 ... 6th is coming
Hi doseffing.
... g'morning
I have about 2 dozen books on my to-read shelf, and 125 on my Amazon wish list. Haha.
Yes, i hear that he is a slow writer, so i am in no hurry to read an unfinished series
Howdy, dose
... I'd start now ... despite what everyone else thinks ... I wasn't a fan of the books ... ... the first one became a long slow dragging on forever read ... ... I was done for good at chapter two of the second
Did that with Stephen king's big series and vowed to never do that again. Nothing worse that waiting years for the next book in a series.
Interesting, Dose. You are the first "nay" I have heard for that particular series.
rambles on a bit, does it?
... hey ... do it like my kid did ... there was that delay between the fourth and fifth Harry Potter ... so I suggested she write one ... ... she did ... it was running as a serial on one of the fan sites ... she was a world wide recognized expert on the game of Quidditch
... oh just a touch ...
lol. I try to keep it down to two books in progress at any given time when I write:)
... always helps to get one finished before starting on the next
Cool, doseffing.
Almost halfway and I must now get ready for work. Enjoy the day folks.
... and you Scrabbler
... oh well ... three quarters ... and judging by the last twenty words ... the last quarter looks pretty tough ... ... other things to do ... good day and good luck to everyone
Good morning

Good evening, everyone:)

Hi. Here in the bright-blue Northwest we are just starting the grid. and finding more words than we deserve.
hello, gmere. just getting back for a few after a couple f hours with taxes.
... you can do mine too once you're done
i didn't say i was done...had enough medical to pursue that this year.

thanks jaxx. How are you faring ?
Typical..no def.
the bone scan shows my bones are strong so no osteoporosis.
that is good. Spontaneous breaks are not fun.
That is god news, Jazz :-)
any more good news?
great news, Jaxx. I am already osteopenic.
Oh sorry to here you have a broken bone.
have had 2 stress fractures due to running. I don't run anymore...
Agreed. now i have a 4hr nuclear scan on my neck in April.
a scan for 4 hours?! you could glow in the dark when it is over?
had lunch yesterday with friends I have kept in touch with for over fifty years. We were all creaking.
I was thinking the same, Bugsaw!
LOL but I bet it was nnice to catch up with your friend though :-)
Apparently, An injection followed by a scan after one hour and then every 20 mins thereafter.
We hadn't seen each other for two years in one case and three in the other. Felicity did offer my husband earplugs to reduce the noise of chatter from the back seat.
LOL
Well, we had a lot to catch up on.
my friend and I were agreeing with Mae West earlier today as well. She said, Aging isn't for the faint-hearted, or some such thing.
It is nice to chit chat and get things off your chest..and generally have a good laugh!
I just had my friends round and had a nice chinese meal!
We had to laugh when we got back to Felicity's hotel. She got out of one side and I got out of the other and the two tottery ladies met in the middle with our knees creaking. Ah to be 20 again.
My father siad he hates being old.you can not do the things you used to love doing but the mind is still ready for great adventures but the body is saying sod that.
Ah, the spirit is willing but the flesh ain't.
too true you two!
He has terrible shakes now. When he boils the kettle I get very worried. It is okay when I am there as I will do it for him.But when i am not*shudders*
There was a lady behind me on the bus who said if she had realised what old age was like she wouldn't have got old.
has he got parkinsons, zoom?
No he has high blood pressure and is on all sorts of tablets. These gives him terrible shakes.
He can take pananaol tablets that would reduce the shakes. But they make him feel very strange so he says.so would rather put up with the shakes.
My Dad had the shakes too zooz but he loved soup. He discovered that if he had a glass of wine just before the meal, he could get some soup to his mouth! No idea what caused his shakes, but ...
He should mention it to his doctor. There may well be better tablets for him. We go on taking these things but our metabolisms change over time and what suited us 10 years ago don't now
I take the same beta blockers too and they make me feel strange also..but I need them for my panic attacks.
I was on a betablocker that gave me hallucinations. I am willing to bet yours are the same ones. Propanalol
He is so fussy ladies it is very hard to get him to do anything different. He is soooooo stubborn.
Oh yes that is the same ones, Jaxx.I thought i had spelt the name wrong.
I take between 1-4 each time I feel like i need to.
I think if you read the leaflet that comes with the tablets it will tell you this. Try another. I take Bisopropol now and they are much better.
They are supposed to slow the heart rate down..i think they do more than that..lol
I will mention those to the doctor next time I see him..thanks for that..Will write the name down.
This sounds like a medical programme. have a word with your dad's doctor and tell him/her about the trembling and the effect propanalol is having. He clearly needs someone there to help him make drinks. How about a Vacuum jug? You fill it when you are there and all he has to do is pour the water out of the jug which has a spout.
Cut out the middle kettle.
Will look them up on google.
talking of being stubborn have you got those curtains yet?. lol Now I know where you get it from.
I did buy him a kettle that you just place the cup under the little spout and press a button...after about 20 seconds the hot water comes out and fill the cup..But he never uses it.says he prefers the old kettle.
Errrm i am still chosing *cough*
Take the old kettle away and bring it with you when you visit. My knees are creaking something awful but I have to accept that I can't dance like I used to.
Try telling him that..lol
Those vacuum jugs still have a spout that when he goes to tip it up to pour the liquid out it could still go all over the place.
You are now the parent. lay the law down. I had to do with my mother when she was alive.
can you find a vaccuum jug that pumps the liquid out?
How about the ones that you find at restaurants? they contain a lot of water and have a pipe like spout that you put the cup under. have a look on Amazon. I bet they do something like that.
two minds, bugs
Agreed ladies.I am on the amazon site now..there are so many different types they have..lol
There you are then! take the kettle away and fill the largest vacuum jug you can find
You could tell your dad that the doctor suggested it as he was trembling so badly
Bugs and I are problem solvers
Still can't sort out the grid though.
How many words do you have left, Jaxx?
22
http://tinyurl.com/ngblzuv
I was thinking something like that maybe?
Don't worry, Zoom. I have a decent book waiting for me and a bar of chocolate. This appeals more than Babble at the moment. I hope you sort things out for your dad. Night Bugs see you later
I also have a book waiting for me too!
But no chocolate..A bit late for me to eat that.
Thanks for the advice.Have a great night, Jaxx :-)
Bit late for me too but I need cheering up after all the hospital visits in the last few weeks and many more to come.
Little steps at a time, Jaxx. You wil get there though ((Jaxx))
Okay it is now 12:26am here.Time for me to retire for the evening.Happy babbling everyone!
night, zooz.
