thank you lickety!
Has anyone seen "matilda the musical?"
Thanks Lickety
I haven't, harp. Is it any good?
hi everyone and thanks Lickety
I'm trying to decide if I want to drive 1000 miles round trip to see it in August
crashing -- good night everyone
Where would you have to go?

Hi all :)
hi liz
NBT, NBS.
WTG Nef
From Hamilton MT to Seattle.
wtg nef, harp, nan, diz
Oh, yeah. In July? that would be a LONG hot trip in a car. (how about flying?)
WTG the rest that I didn't notice before ;)
I meant in AUgust, sorry
ob 6 ob 7
Flying doesn't save much time since it's an hour to the airport, you have to wait 1-2 hours once you get to the airport, and then you land in a god-forsaken section of Seattle. It's not a bad drive, really. By Western standards.
I did that once (After driving from MN to Msla; all one trip in 1 week!). I was much younger then; plus I didn't have A/C in my car; it was such a long hot trip for a 1 week summer vacation
Dee, does the ob6 and 7 have anything to do with the ob4?
no... ob + exam and then the plural
I have an ob 6 which is related
But I didn't have those - thanks, Dee.
have that one Liz, tks
yw
thanksDee, for the clue
yqw
thanks Dee
I have a completely different ob 4 and 6
I have 2 ob 6's (unrelated) and 1 ob 7
Minn to Missoula is quite a bit further than Seattle to Missoula. Ironic, since either drive only involves crossing two state lines!
It's about 1100 miles from the Twin Cities to Msla; somehow that last 500 miles always seems the longest
That's because it is soooooooooo flat
No, it's those darn mountains that make it seem so much farther! ;-)
True, you can't speed in the mountains. But you have more things to pay attention to, so your mind is busier.
(Plus, if you're me, you are going home....)
LOL! My brother calls this the flat lands back here; but it isn't *that* flat (it's very flat up in NW MN in the Red River Valley of the north). But I feel kind of claustrophobic in the mountains; there's just too much stuff to look at all at once
That's exactly the conversation that I have with my cousins who grew up on the Plains!
fireworks
Congrats, Dee
well done Dee
ty... totally missed the si 5/18... eyes just wouldn't go that direction LOL
:-) Here in the Cities we're about 600 - 800 feet above sea level; and with the Mississippi and the Minnesota rivers cutting through here there's a lot of topography around. If I go just 20 - 40 miles SE of here, we're in Bluff Country and overlooking Lake Pepin on the Mississippi river; and it take your breath away!
YAY VolleymomDee!!! WTG!!!
ty, nef!
River bluffs are amazing.
harp, where I live, there are about 5 lakes within a mile of our house; and we are in a suburb in the Cities less than 9 miles from both downtowns (Minneapolis & St. Paul)
Minnesota has plenty of lakes!
Sleep well, all! *poofing with hugs*
Sleep well and hugs, Dee
unable to stay awake, be back tomorrow to finish up, goodnight all
Sleep well Flosey
Sweet dreams, flosey.
tks Liz and Peach, good luck finishing
Well, there are very few up in NW MN. My sisters planned a quick trip to Glacier last fall & my one sister met me in Fargo & we did the road trip out there. We rode with my sister from Helena up to Glacier, and she kept pointing out the whole chain of lakes (Seeley, Salmon, etc) on the way up there. They are pretty; but several of them were quite low.
Montana is beautiful; but I don't want to live there. I lived there for a year in the early 60's while I was in high school, and woke up one night to my bed walking across the room from an earthquake (it wasn't a bad one; just very disconcerting!)
brb
Over half Way and I' need to go to bed. Happy Babbling, Everyone!
Good Night!
anyone else been getting lots of red boxes the last 4 hours?
been here couple hrs. havent had any
tons of red boxes - keep going away and coming back
same here, jwr. Glad you're having a usual time, ivesy.
for proof - see the big gaps in time
sometimes it happens when I have a run of words, though it just can't keep up. Other times, I know it's not me.
Found 119 words in next to no time today!
yay zooz. how are you mate?
Make that 122 now..lol
Hello, Rose, I am well and you?
zooz, i am very ashamed to admit this. so many people ask my advice. just which tablets did i recommend to you?
Hi and hugs :) 3 left but guests arriving for dinner in 10 minutes or so.
zooz doing quite well
{{hugs}} liz girl. enjoy your evening dear
When do you have another injection?
LOl that is no problem, Rose.It was the magnesium ones!
Hello, Liz :-)
Last 2 days of passover coming up! Be happy when things are back to normal.
Hope you have a lovely meal with your friends, Liz!
ahhhh.
Thanks :)
2 left
pi 6/21 - any clues pls?
Are you having lots of courses, Liz or just one main meal?
pi6. pi + alternative spelling for not day
pi6: same as fi6, meaning limited.
Chicken soup, lamb roasted with cumin and coriander (spice not herb) and garlic of course, and then an apple cake with a lemon custardy thingy.
Thanks for the clues.
Yummy yum yum!!
don't think you'd get here in time, Zooz :)
Last one pls - se 6/18 - just for speed now!
I will try, Liz..just oiling my bike chain as we speak!!
se + head louse egg + vowel
All the way to Heathrow :) You'd be welcome.
Thanks - tried that with the wrong vowel.
Fireworks.
Congrats, Liz!
Now I can just chat until friends arrive.
good morning all
Hello, Sprite :-)
And a friend just arrived - Sprite, that is. Hugs.
*hugs Liz and zooz* Hello dear friends :)
{{hugs}} dearest sprite
How are you today? Did you sleep better?
hello my dear rose :) *hugs* for you too.
Will you play any bard games afterwards, Liz, Or is that too lame these days?
Board*
ugly dreams. Still a bit spaced out by them.
No idea, Zooz. We'll just take the evening as it happens.
((Sprite))
Sorry about that - more hugs.
Good way to go, Liz :-)
thanks for the extra hugs :)
May I please have a clue for tet5-20? Thanks
Did I tell you, the photo books finally got finished and arrived this week. So happy to have you in pride of place from our day in Amsterdam.
* holding sprite gently, hugs and kisses*
*cuddles up to rose and sighs deeply*
TE + some of the third day of the week.
te + word associated with marriage
Two different clues for the same word..lol
oh wow Liz, good job.
And mine would've been much too obscure - rhyming with the word for munching up food - but pt.
Thanks Rose and zooz.
hello peach!
my poor lovely sprite. it's so unfair, my darling
Hi Peach
Those photo books are great to make these days as they are getting cheaper to get produced!
Welcome, Peach :-)
That is a good clue also, Liz.
It's such a good way of remembering holidays and better than just leaving the pics on the computer.
Hey there sprite!
Aw, that's nice of you to say, Peach.
teehee! I like that clue, Liz!
aw rose, darling, it is what it is. Have been living with it for over 40 years, guess I will grow old with it. I can handle it. But the big hugs are very helpful :D
would have worked for me, your clue, Liz
just you wait until they are for real, honey.
can hardly wait, rose. It will be so awesome.
Hopefully for both of you, that won't be too long.
as long as it takes for Rose and Don to become travel-fit
That's the important thing.
yeah... or they won't be able to enjoy the journey. Wouldn't that be awful :(
The journey once they've arrived - difficult to enjoy the long flight but important to be comfortable.
bless you for being so understanding sprite.
oh yeah, true dat. I meant the whole thing. Forgot about the very long flight.
But I'm sure that 5 minutes in each other's company and you'll both feel more than wonderful.
easy to understand, rose :)
Actually less than 5!
it was that way for us, wasn't it, Liz? Like old friends meeting up. Not an awkward moment.
It was wonderful - so happy we were able to sort the flights etc. from London. Not as easy as I'd expected to get what we wanted.
just picture me clapping eyes on sprite for the first time....less than 30 seconds later.
Not difficult to imagine.
not sure i will even let the car stop....lol
No, Rose. Let the car stop. No more falling over! Though Sprite would be there to catch you!
oh yes, rose. It will be like that. See eachother, hug like mad, and chatter away. The guys will scratch their head and look at eachother and shake their heads in total bafflement.
*giggle* don is still reeling from the price of the tickets. i have insisted at least business class. i need to be comfortable.
nah silly, we will collect you from the airport, of course. We will guide you to our car and carry your bags and all. Or better even, Rob will get the car and you don't have to walk far at all.
good for you, rose. Imagine how miserable the two of you would be in cheap seats.
Guests have just arrived. Car pulling up. So hugs all around.
hugs liz
*hugs Liz* And for your beloved too. Have a good last days of passover!
sprite, nerve pain really bad tonight. have only been on the tegretol for three nights. i have the patches in place. i have been wincing and crying out for the last few hours.
oh my darling :( I am so so sorry. And nerve pain is the worst of all. *sending healing vibes and pain killing hugs*
do you think the tegretol is causing it?
another four days before i can increase the tegretol to two tablets.
oh now I understand. The dosage is still too low. Because you had to stop and wait for the side effects to lessen.
sounds like another wonderful worldwide babble-meet. Meanwhile . . . get ready for a shout-out as I leave. HOLD YOUR EARS:
i don't think so, dear. the tegretol acts on the nerve impulses, slows them down.
*giggle* jwr
hi jwr! *hugs* and have a wonderful day!
oops - sorry, rose/sprite -- looks like I landed in the middle of the pharmaceutical discussion. This is what I was about to say:
ANNOUNCING (worth the shoutout) THE ONE & ONLY BESTEST GRID FOR NEWBIES
rose, and how about adding half a tablet tomorrow?
WTG JWR!!!
*giggles* That easy, huh, jwr? How nice.
and WTG for finishing!
xoxox jwr. np's dear. shout away.
lol you can land in the middle of any of our chats, jwr, and we will enjoy you doing so!
Half a tab - and hugs for both of you. ... and yes, Sprite, the easiest ever. Now I have to extricate myself from the middle of the chat. You guys are sooo sticky!
xoxox jwr. enjoy your day/night dear
and shamelessly sticky too, lol. *hugs* jwr... go girl!
eerrrryhhhhunnhhhh heeer iiiii gooo POOF
lol. Priceless. :D
are those tablets time-released, rose, or can you take half of one?
yes sprite. time released, so half a tablet is not an option. noooo, i will get through it. i am considering calling the clinic tomorrow. although at the moment the pain control is good, just the symptoms of spasms, cramps and the glowing body temps are starting up again.
FW at last. Thanks to all my peeps. I'm pooped. Blessings to all!
please call them. It sounds like it is time for another infusion. And even if it isn't, they can advice you about upping the tegretol earlier.
wtg peach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blessings and *hugs*.
WTG GAPEACH!!!
oh, another idea: maybe the tegretol comes in a half-dose tablet as well. You could take those then, for the middle steps.
*giggle* i have set our given easter goodies to one side. just went out to the kitchen. and all of one of don's eggs is gone.
awwww that is sweet
no, sprite, it is naughty. you know we are trying to lose weight....
yeah well, naughty is sweet. Can't help it. Guess I am a rebel at the core ;)
oh, oh i have to tell you. i came out and told don i had lost 7kg (= 15lbs)
oh woweeeeee well done, rose!
his response. he took a deep breath and his jeans fell to his knees. with the belt on it's last hole.
oh lololollllllllllll gotta love a man with a sense of humour.
and i do....love the man with a sense of humour...
hehehe I know you do
personally i can't see it. but my own harem pants are de8ly looser.
hehehe good for you!
sorry, had a tel.call. Ugh, dem it... troubles at the publisher's. The american publisher is secondguessing the wisdom of publishing my books.
they say fantasy isn't doing too well on the market at the moment, and my books are lots of pages, and will be too expensive to publish for them.
how rude!! refer them to me...i will pin their silly ears back.
what a load of ****. look at fifty shades of grey. for goodness sake!! who do they think they are talking to?
hehehe if only you could! Just told my own publisher I am into translating and editing myself, and am more than willing to do the working over of the computerised translation... he will get back to me today or tomorrow.
also told him again I have quite a few people who are waiting for the english version...
but 50 shades is not fantasy, that is erotic reading. Always a market for that, si4.
jeezzz what a downer. I feel my energy slip away :(
sprite 50 shades of grey is de8ly fantasy. from a very sick mind.
um... no sweetie... it is A fantasy, but not fantasy as a genre. Mine is, though.
have you publishers tried the uk or australia?
no, they have a contract with an american publisher that works the same way as they do.
hmmmm. not sure where to go, then
me neither. I also don't know what more I can do than offer to do the 0ne-on-one work myself.
I really thought that there was a huge market for fantasy in the states. And that books with lots of pages were not a problem either. Oh man, and I don't have a good feeling about the results of his contacting the american firm again.
darn sprite. what can you do? have you asked your publisher?
he says nothing. If they decide not to do my books, they won't. I asked him to do all he can for me. He said he will, and that he does that for all their auteurs. Doesn't make me confident, somehow.
all there would be left to do, is translate the whole thing myself. But ughhhh that will take ages. Darn it. He said if I give them the english version, they will publish.
honey, i am so sorry for what has happened. i know you have put your all into these books.
sure have :( Send up a prayer for me, please, rose? That they will go with my offer of doing the 1-on-1 work myself?
it's a pity, if you have to go back and translate them all.
and of course i will be praying for you. you know that. have never stopped, but i will address this particular issue relentlessly.
thanks my darling. Had not realised how much energy I got from knowing they will be published in english. Until now. Blech.
I have started translating them several times, but they are so big. Kind of daunting.
honey, you know. when faced with a HUGE job, take a deep breath and tell yourself just.... the limit you can handle...right?
true, dat. I guess I could do it. Let's hope they will give me the rough translation to start with though. That would really really help me.
i have absolute confidence you can do this, sweetie. limit yourself....and when you over, well it's cheers all round, honey.
oh rose...
sprite??
yes darling, I am here. Bit teared up. Feeling sorry for myself.
*hands sprite tissues * my darling you CAN do this. as i said. set yourself limits.
and lots of gentle hugs
yeah... like 3 pages a day. Then it would take about a year. That should be doable.
and you know... when I got the email about the translation, I actually called them. Asked, are you sure? My books too? They are so huge? And he told me yes, my books too. Not a wise man, that.
sooooo one book/year. and when you do more than 3 pages/day, that reduces the year to less.
but then dearest...when you have translated them all...you will be on easy street, as they say.
yeah. But that will be cancelled by the days I cannot work. With an operation coming and all... ah well. Enough of the moping, I guess.
if only, rose. It would be so great if they would sell overseas.
sprite, as your life-style changes with the surgery, you will find deeper and deeper reserves of energy.
that is true. That is what Cobi says too. The first year there is a lot of being tired. But in between the rests there is more energy.
see?? what did i say?? Cobi backs my words, and i didn't know she had said that.
hehehe well she is in a position to know, having gone through the whole thing herself.
and you are a smart cookie with lots of medical experience
xoxox my dearest
fireflies
WTGT SPRITE!!!!
i so love being here when you say that. xoxox
lol, that is a freudian slip, rose! WTGT sprite... yes, come to me!
*giggling* yup
I wish. Imagine living so close that we could hop over for a cuppa and a talk, and lots of hugs.
my dear friend, how is the body doing? Did the pain become a little more manageable?
it has settled for now....
good. I put a whole truckload of healing angels to work some time back. :D
sprite, what you imagine is a dream of mine.
will ask them to stay with you overnight and keep up the good work
thanx sweetie. :-)
that is what we will do when i am there. * hey sprite? whatcha doing? i need a cuppa!!*
dream of mine as well. We people do things wrong, on the whole. We should be more mobile, and move to form villages with our friends. health care and old age care would be minimal that way as well.
oh yes, we will. Gosh it is gonna be so much fun.
Good morning, everyone:)
hiya crossy! *hugs* for you both. I am about to leave though, sorry.
hey ya crossy, mate
oh rose, imagine crossy making us communal breakfast in our village :D
only once a year, or we will become pi4.
yum!!! and i would be the size of a sumo wrestler....lol
lolol, snap sprite
you and me both, kiddo, you and me both
Nothing like an epic crossy breakfast;)
too true!
anything with bacon is sold as far as i am concerned. add maple syrup....
ok, off with me, I guess. I should get a move on with my other translation first. Got to get that out of the way before I can even think of starting my own.
pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. And a cup of wiener melange coffee. I'd die happy.
xoxox my dearest friend. please enjoy your day. do not over-extend yourself.
tc ((sprite))
good warning. Thanks rose. Will limit myself. *hugs* my darling. May you have a peaceful and painless night.
bye crossy, have a beautiful day :)
sarah6girls....hello sweetie.
and sprite is gone...and so has the timer. dinner ready. bbl. xoxox
sets
Well, a nice, fast NBT for crossy:)
and back
Wb, Rose
it is an easy as grid, crossy. i only found that there were 7 "odd" words.
Well, sadly, I do not play at your level. Your easy ones are my hard ones, your hard ones are my next-to-impossible ones, and your next to impossible ones I only look at through dark glasses while making the sign of the cross and spraying holy water.
roflol, crossy
:)
would you like for me to list the 7 "odd" words?
No, thank you. not yet. i need to sing for my supper first. must sweat for it a bit:)
how has elegant been, crossy?
I have the holy water standing by--just in case
Oh she is fine, have needed very little holy water with her yet:)
*giggle*
She has her ups and down, but is really enjoying her English classes. I am done as you know, and when she starts taking the college course I will be in her class to help her as a TA
what a laugh!!!
And crossy gets to wear the robes this June:)))
Only took me 33 years for a proper graduation:)
you really must post pics....or send them to me...
I will post pics on my web site for everyone to have a peek
thanx crossy. it has been a long time coming.
http://crosshairmusings.webs.com/ that is my site addy. I post things of interest there now and again as well as picture the Mrs and I take in our travels
time to get meds ready. bbs. xoxox
Congrats, Corssy!
And Crossy too.
48 left. Enjoy the day kids.
gm, everyone!
Howdy, LBD
Hiya, Crossy! I see congrats are in order!
Yes, indeed, LBD. Sometime this June:)
excellent! well deserved!
Robe has been ordered along with the mortar board:)
with honours, I assume?
That remains to be seen. I am in the 90th percentile across all my courses, but there some some that breezed through around the 98% level:)
of course that is all a 4.0
I volunteer quite a bit, but that is paying it forward and not because i covet the gold trimmed robe:))
Will look forward to seeing your photos, Crossy :-)
a 4.0 should still be with honours.
Hello
Morning all
hi zooz, car and sukee
Hello, Car, Sukee, Dawg, Crossy :-)
:)
A lot of the mature student hit the 4.0 level. I think we just like busting the grading curve and showing those kids how it is done:)))
Howdy, Zooz
Spring is here, rain, rain, rain. But you know what they say about spring showers.
Howdy, sukee
Hi crossy, zoo, lbd, etc.
Yeah, Sukee.take an umbrella or you will get wet :-)
don't know what others say, I say...Achoo!
At least it is not freezing rain like yesterday, it's going up to the high teens today.
I am loving the rain!! Cleaning everything up and making our 6 month of frozen wasteland just a bad dream:)
bikini time, sukee
mm, I see we have a heavy rainfall warning issued for today as well ,sukee. we are due for 2-3 inches of it
Oh my goodness...just heard about the Golden Girls Legos on the news! How sweet!
She wore an itsy bitsy tinsey wisney yellow polka dot bikini today!
1,2,3,4, tell the people what she wore...
lol
I thought the golden girls show finished years ago.Is it still running then?
I had that on record. K-tels goofy greats. 100 of your most lovable goofy songs all crammed on one album!
tadone!! finito! fun grid.
They used to cut the grooves so tight on those albums, you could only play the thing a few times before your stylus tried to carve its own course:))
Yaa for LBD!
congrats, lbd!
The things the kids are missing!
Congrats, Dawg!
Then you had to tape a stack of pennies to the top of the tone-arm to keep it in the groove
Well done Dawg!
I remember those, Crossy
ty, ty, ty. this just means I have to be constructive today. and not waste my time on the computer, developing my vocabulary. lol
lol I remember using blu-tac to put the coins on top of the stylus head too, Crossy!
I saw that lego set on Facebook yesterday :)
Took the cat to the vet a couple of days ago to be weighed, he's put on a kilo since the last time.
I am having flashbacks!
Tough winter on kitties too
Oh, Cos will be thrilled about the Legos. He loves The Golden Girls.
oohhh had forgotten the penny trick LOL!
Is that good or bad, Sukee?
Very good, he was very underweight.
Oh! Ok then!
Shows his medicine is working and he's not throwing up as much.
Tat is good to hear, sukee :-)
Good!
yeah for sukee's furbaby!
That*
A great Dane was there when I was there with him. It took 3 people to get him on the scale. He was about 97 lbs.
hello everybody. It is warm and flowery today; all that rain paid off.
He was as tall as me when I was sitting down.
Lovely!
I am forever having flashbacks. occupational hazard from being a writer:)
salut ruby! good to see you :-)
((ruby)) sadly, I must love you and leave you:(
{{crossy}}
Off to class. tc all, and happy Babbling!
bon jour une
Hi Ruby.
Have fun.
HAGD Crossy
Husband is now having his meals in the kitchen so my days of 40 flights are mostly over. Yay
Hello, Ruby :-0
Toodle pips, Crossy.
wonderful, ruby!
Oh that is good news, Ruby!
I wish I could hug everybody; it's that kind of day
That is a massive dog, Sukee!
Thank goodness, Ruby!
And I think it was still a puppy.
((Ruby)) there a hug for you :-)
Wonder how much the dog eats in a day!
Tulips that were planted two years ago are actually going to flower this year. Every day there are more flowers and yesterday the handyman and his little boy cut the lawn and did the edges
Nice.
We are still about a month away from that.
must be really lovely, ruby :-)
I bet your garden is looking very pretty, Ruby!
my big dogwood that was totally sheathed in ice a few weeks ago is blooming more lushly than ever before -- amazing
Next week, when DIL comes, I will plant the border "cheats". And today I cut back the geraniums that wintered in the garage. We'll see what they do
The bad news is that Rufie has a tick and won't let me remove it.
Plants are great at making a big comeback, Une!
Our yard looks like crap still...all gray and wet. :(
especially remarkable this year, zoom -- we had recordbreaking bitter cold and ice! :-)
nutty weather here right now -- 80 degrees yesterday!!
We have be graced with tempperatures close to 19c I think is about 68f
:-D
Must be delightful
we are due to receive nice weather next week
We are into the April showers thing. Which is fine, because people are planting so we need the rain.
morning, molly :-)
Hello Molly
Morning all : D
Good Morning everyone
hey river!!
2 inches of snow here with freezing drizzle on my way to work this morning. What spring?
Hello, Molly :-)
Hello, Molly :-) Hello, River :-)
Good morning all
Sorry River.
hey bichon :-)
good morning river and bichon
Oh wow..how did I post it like that!
Oh wow..how did I post it like that! Hello, Bichon :-)
river, your weather sounds like what my daughter's still having in Maine :-)
You're feeling better ruby?
talented zooz
Ok this computer is acting weird.
One of B.s nurses lost her 15 yr. old bichon this week. He was named Poopy
we are neighbors after all Une
Poopy, dare I asky why?
more cheerful, Bichon, but my chest stays the same
I thought you typed poppy
Off to make some breakfast, take care all.
toode pips, Sukee :-)
They don't know the word poop here. I sometimes call Rufie and Ruby (RIO) "poopy head", but that's different.
For you dog lovers: a friend of mine runs a rescue in Florida. It is terrible what is happening down there. Last night she posted a picture of a dog that needs immediate rescue and the reason the owners gave it up was because it pooped too much in the yard. Really? What did those folks think - that it would go in the toilet? How terrible!
I didn't realize you were sick Ruby - glad to hear you are getting better
That's what yards are for, n'est-ce pas? And my "poopies" go discreetly behind the shrubbery
Very sad to hear that, River.
I've had pleurisy (dry) all winter and have whined ceaselessly about it
ruby, I have two foster girls now, Sadie and Sukie. They are 10 y.o. They were never house broken. Poop in the house
The shelters in Florida have such a high kill rate. Thank god for these rescues saving some of these babies.
sorry to hear that Ruby
thats a tough one to break bichon but you will do it
The rescue I foster for has a branch in Florida, for Bichons
I have artifical grass down [with newspaper underneath. They will pee on that
I can't imagine not housebreaking a dog. I think they prefer being clean. Chows, of course, housebreak themselves.
The owner was disable and I don't think the dogs went outside
A friend of mine has two very small dogs and has an area in her house for them to do their business because it is difficult for them to go out with all the snow. She has a large fairly flat container and uses the pads that are used on hospital beds.
The artificial grass works well for the pee, but they poop anywhere
I have always been a believer of crating to train that. They do not like to sleep in their mess. My pups were always trained fairly quickly but you need to spend time taking them out.
thats shitty!
lol
These dogs are 10. Who in the world is going to adopt them?
I wonder if people in America name their dogs Merde
I suppose I should stop goofing off and get to work. Have a great day everyone and feel better Ruby.
{{river}}
my cats were 10 when I adopted them.
hugs to all - bye
that's funny, Molly, and you see immigrants in the US, wearing nametags with their foreign names that are bad words in English
I don't know. I've never seen anyone with a name tag that says HI - MY NAME IS SHITHEAD : D
There is a popular Israeli name, Osnat. For short they call her Snotty
My sister saw a clerk named Kunti
Oh, that is extremely unfortunate.
Hopefully it's pronounced KOONTAY, but still
One can hope....
We used to have a contractor that worked for us with the last name of Niple. He was emphatic about pronouncing it NIGHPLE, but not many others did.
I thik that calls for a name change

hi Penq
hello hego
hi hego....just arrived a few minutes ago....
hiya Rubes!
How does your garden grow?
The tulips I planted last year are all budded up. I can't exactly remember if they were singles or doubles
You'll be surprised.
It grows nicer every day and maybe this year, the irises will flower. They rarely do, for some reason
lucky you!....we had 7 + inches of snow today... :o(
No kidding!
no kidding...wet, heavy snow...
Ruby, Ruby, not a newbie, how does your garden grow?
supposed to get 1-3.....got over 7....
When we first put the garden in, I had more than 300 tulips planted. The next year, only 100 and something flowered. The third year there were around 60. I love tulips but I think they're a little bit quirky
It's nasty here, but all the snow is gone.
I thing you have to cut them to the ground after they are done.
We had barely any snow this year; we've been lucky with the weather compared to every place else.
think
Not just the spent flowers?
Budding tulips, while drinking mint juleps, while the dogs track mud in while they go
A pro gardener told me the whole plant.
Thank you for your poem, Molly
cute Molly
So that's it. Various locals have told me you have to dig them up every year, but that's too much trouble for lazy me.
I tried to make this a perennial garden, but the books often lie!
they just cute them right down and plant around them.
Ruby, you need a studly garden boy : P
my father had a lot of tulips and he just cut them down after they bloomed....he had other flowers that then started to bloom there...
I had foxgloves, lupines, anemone and double hollyhocks, in the beginning -- all of them gone
Always fun to cute around your flowers
The various gardeners I've used have all been sons of my friends
I wish I could find a gardener. They are in such demand here, it makes them very independent and hard to come by.
What I love, though, as I learn about gardening, is that when a plant "takes" it can multiply, e.g. the 5 allium I originally planted now number around 45 (ignore my compulsive counting, pls)
:)
bulbs are supposed to multiply.
I only use a real gardener occasionally as he is much too expensive. Mostly, I use my handyman and pay him by the hour, but I have to tell him exactly what to do
My least favorite tulips, salmon dwarfs, are the only ones which have multiplied.
One funny plant is holly. I planted one small one and new plants are showing up all over the place.
it must seed.
My rose of sharons do that.
The berries never have a chance to get red; they are all eaten when they are still orange.
But the birdies poop them out all over.
time to buy all of those reduced ester bulbs and hold them for the fall.
I have to go; old Burt is stomping around and telephoning me.
bye Ruby
I never thought of that, Hego. I'm sure you're right
good idea TO
ed
try it Ruby
I left all my potted geraniums in the garage all winter and forgot to water them. Today I cleaned them up and many are healthy and even budding
Hmm, maybe hyacinths and lilies will be on sale.....and DIL is coming so she can do all the planting for me
lucky!
they went dormant for you.
There's a bright section of the garage which has slanted windows and I think that may have helped them
I'm on the verge of going dormant, too
haha
Good night everybody
bye...
my grandfather used to pull the geraniums from he window box and hang them bare rooted upside down to dry then replant.
Never heard that one.
worked for him.
cool!
I uaed to do that with my dahlias
*used

Heading off to Gran Canaria, an island territory belonging to Spain, off the West coast of Africa! :-)
Bye Turq
wow.. sounds like a wonderful destination ! Have never been there..
first thing I wonder.. what birds are there? lol..
Lol. The island group is called the Canary Islands, but apparently its because of all the dogs there - Canaris/ canines... I'll let you know!
oh, ok.. have heard of the Canary Islands..interesting about the dogs!
mrs2bit and I spent part of our honeymoon on Fuerteventura in the Canaries
Aloy, if I can prise myself off the sun lounger long enough, I'll try to do a bit of research & let you know. Wow, Dan. Those pre-baby days!!!! I'll bet they seem long long ago. Lol
yes 10 years this October - an aeon ago
glad you have some sun to lounge in, Soodle! fw here and I must scoot to figure out what I'm going to fix for supper.. think it will be broccoli/ham rolls..hope I have some Swiss cheese. Happy Babbling.. poof
Well done, Aloy!!
Lol, Dan. I tend to think of my life in terms of BK & AK. Before kids & after kids. Extreme extremes!
hope you have a great time in the Canaries, Soodle...
Ah, thanks, Pen. Sorry, I seem to be spinning about 10 plates at the moment. Normal service will resume soon. (I hope)
no problem...
*has broom ready*
Howdy, all. I have 11 left.
hello 34 to go
Go, go, go.

Not a word. Stuck at 9...
but it SHOULD be a word. You know we all tried it!
Hahaha. So true. I'll try a word every time I see it knowing full well it isn't really a word. Hope springs eternal, I guess.
I'm like that with a few words that are accepted in crosswords
what's the roman road? iter, i think.
20 to go
via? I have the v's. 5 to go.

in 6 and 7 -- too many bugs in your house.
no, "iter," deutsch! Babble doesn't accept it but it's a common crossword thing!\
Thanks for the in, turns out I had it....
Oh, yes, iter. I love crosswords, too.

2 x fi6 - one is superlative, the other is limited
And the se 5 and the we 7. So close. But great job, Harpjane.
we7 is the quality of being we3
Of course, dan2bit. Thanks!
And there it is. Fireworks. Thanks Dan and Harp. Sounds like most folks have finished. But I'll stay around if anyone wants chat or clues.
se6?
<-- is in the grid!!!
(hi all - popping in for a few)
yay!
*feeling important today!* :)
looking, dan
se 6 is sort of like the last name of the man who played Forrest Gump's friend Captain Tom. Or a monetary unit of Tonga.
Are you thinking of Lieutenant Dan?
That's who I'm thinking of, Dan
Good grief, yes, dan and Pinikula.
at least I think
I can't make it work - will keep monkeying
now, if i could just figure how to spell it ! lol
Guess yould say I'm Clueless.

happy to see you here friend
(((hugs all)))
Bugs - I put a video that includes our tadpoles on the website! :-)
glad you are still enjoying your teaching life
I must check out the tadpoles. They always fascinated me as a kid
mostly -- had a panic attack last night... but Mother set me straight today.
Tomorrow I get to (I hope) finally see Tom's nephew play baseball. He's nationally ranked for a high school kid. Pretty high-end I am told.
oh dear. Poor you. I had a migraine today and had to take one of the super duper knock out drugs. Feels like my head is under water still
your mother is a dear and has many talents. So do you, you just don't trust yourself yet
they are kids. They don't know when you are making stuff up
One of my most favourite sounds is the crack of a baseball bat in spring
so sorry about the migraine. I have been battling them regularly with the irregular weather. Grant had a doozey of a migraine Monday-Tuesday.
How is Mr. Bugs?
I don't think mine are caused by weather but if I don't take something right away it does not take long to take over. Today I was tutoring and let it go.
I had an ocular one this afternoon, but decided to ignore it and fortunately it didn't develop...
Mr Bugs is still outside working on a little speedboat that he is rebuilding from the hull up. I hope we can use it this summer. The grandkids will love it as much as we might
he is so happy. I am too now that he wears hearing aids. dancing dancing
go Mr. Bugs go!
I jsut found my last word. Can I help you or will you excuse me to go find a drink
I love that he got hearing aids! Now when I talk to him maybe he'll like it more.
I am just goofing off. See you soonish?
I sure hope so. I would love tocome visit your new house sometime this summer if you can spare a day or two
YES!!!!
Can Mr. Bugs come too?
I am hoping to come up to the island for 4th of July (HATE fireworks), too...
If you would like him to come. It is hard to separate him from his projuects but once I get him away he has the best time.
Would love to see him and you -- any time, any where.
We went to Vancouver this past weekend and he had a great time
will you be up this far on July 4th? or should I come down to Victoria to give you a hug
not sure yet -- depends on if and when I teach summer school.
hello everyone
