fw - teatime and off to bed
last two -ca 7/40 and ch 7/40 clue
first one sounds like a sneeze
The ca sounds like a sneeze?
yes
begins with abrev. of girls name
Gotya. Weird word
it is
second ca7 starts with different abrev of same girls name
Another weird word...
yes, so many in this dict. are words we'd seldom use - if ever
back to bed for me, hopefully to sleep this time
good morning all
Mornin. I'm finding it a tough little grid...
hi matty :) Yeah, quite a few words that are not common. Not even in other babble grids.
The longer words are killing me - I only have 4 6s, 3 7s and I don't have the 8. Sigh.
Aaand the 8s an OO. Fab. Just...fab.
the 8 is a biological word. Latin plural of egg sack in insects etc.
let me know if you want more of a clue
Aah, thanks (had to look it up though)
good job, matty!
you do better in the biggie department for the rest. I have 2x6 and 3x7 so far.
In all fairness, it's only because someone clued the ca7s whilst I was peeking at the chog :( I'm a fraud
nah, using clues is not cheating at all.
back when I started playing, Atalante once told me: "Looking up the actual words is cheating. All the rest... is research!"
:D
4 left...
go go goooo matty!
...but just not seeing them at the moment
it is definitely one of those grids where you run out of words to try long before the end of the grid
YES!
Do you have the AL7?
no, not yet. Will help looking.
Alehate - a phobia or unreasoning hatred of beer.
ohhhh I love it! Am adding it to our dictionary!
Yay! Still haven't found the actual word though :(
me neither. Must be a doozy
Also after co6/24 and a pair of Ws
al 7....al 6 with an extra vowel
al 7....al 6 with an extra vowel
ah, finally. The al7 is alt. spelling for the al6 that comes after it.
hello Kallia :)
hello Sprite :)
Thanks both :)
how are you
hello Matty
Greetings!
23left and completely stuck
ah, it is a plant name
I am good, thanks! And you yourself?
ah that's how i knew it...didn't remember that's what it is though!
fine thanks Sprite sun is shining :)
mallow or hollyhock. All the things we learn from babble, grin.
oh that is lovely. It is hazy here. Sun might be able to push through though.
Have you got the co6/24? (and the sun is just making an effort here)
love when the sun shines and it's warm enough to go down the bottom of the garden into my tiny studio
sounds good, Kallia
nope dont have that Mattie
not yet, matty, am looking.
ah, got it, it ends in french water
thanks Sprite
yvw
think its usual with a u after the o
yeah that would look more familiar to me too
actually there is no definition for it and it asks if you mean the other one..lol this dictionary really is crap?
I mean enable
yeah let me try another dictionary
1: a hilly upland including the divide between two valleys : divide 2: the side of a valley
ok thanks
ok of to open up the caravan...er I mean studio lol
back later to finish maybe
hehehe have a good time, Kallia
Thank you!
byee
fireflies. Can I help you with your last ones, matty?
That would be fab - wa6/39 and we5/22 - they should be obvious, given their point scores but I'm just not finding them
oh they are odd, for english. Not at all obvious.
yes? You have them? Would you be kind enough to put me out of my misery?
ok, a bit clumsy clue, sorry in advance: take the wrist time device. Put the middle letter last. Insert a vowel after the vowel.
and then change the two vowels for a different single vowel for the we5
it is, of course a Scots word. It means a large draught of any liquid.
and the we5 is an instrument in the form of a sieve, but without holes, used for lifting grain.
no luck?
I bet something came up. I have to be off. WTG matty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in advance :)
OK, trying
And that's fireworks thank you!!!
Good morning.
Good day to all. Hi sukee. I think we are the only ones here now, except for lurkers.

but nbt, tra la la
We all do it Trif. Hi jess, River
Hello again, kids.
I thought you were off to work Scrabs
I am at work and finished with my first patient. My second is 8 minutes late so far and is likely a no-show.
Why do people not show up for appts. and not even call
Lack of responsibility and accountability--a big problem for us.
Some parents show up really late--30-45 minutes--and then get mad at US when we ask them to reschedule.
I got to a Vet appointment yesterday on time and waited for an hour. Couldn't be helped, there was an emergency. But, annoying just the same
Likewise I feel terrible if I am even 20 minutes behind. I respect the parents' time and feel it is rude to make them wait. It is not easy to wait with a kid.
Fortunately, the dog was well behaved and didn't fuss with the other dogs
Very good.
And the Vet apologized
So it was all good
I apologize for being late--it shows respect to the parent.
26 left and I see nuffin'.
I remember times with a sick kid who was howling and having to wait.
The entire office hears the screamers.
Done. 26 left. See you tomorrow.
I don't think I like this puzzle
those 2 ch 7s are new ones to me
ca 7s, that should be
Would you give clues for them then?
both start with the feline
feline + vowel + what you do with teeth
mispelled, what you do with teeth
it must have to do with the religious learning thing
No, I am wrong: any of several astringent substances obtained from various tropical plants, especially from the wood of two East Indian acacias, Acacia catechu and A. suma: used in medicine, dyeing, tanning, etc.
feline + actor ****or Elizondo
any of several astringent substances obtained from various tropical plants, especially from the wood of two East Indian acacias, Acacia catechu and A. suma: used in medicine, dyeing, tanning, etc.
thanks Jeff
Oh I guess we both clicked the definition link!

Good morning, all. More meager offerings today I see. To quote Oliver: "More please, sir?"

Been offline for quite a bit. Ready to see if I can solve puzzle today.
hello
found a kitty kat
Good afternoon, everybody:) Glad you are back with us, pbr;)
Sometimes, if circumstances allow, it is a good thing to take an extended break from the internet;)
A few years ago i took a bit of a break and left the computer off and the t.v off for a week. it was just the radio and a daily newspaper for the entire time. It was quite refreshing:)
Only a week..lol
Had some obligations after that that required my email to be active
lol. A week is good;some of these kids I see in class cannot keep their hands off the smart phone for 5 whole minutes!
I just got give an HTC one. I have no idea what I am doing with it.Only just managed to get my contacts onto it..lol
Given*
HTC?
It is a phone..google it to get the pictures of it.
ahh, ok; got ya.
It is a smart phone. It is too smart for me really..lol
My smart phone contract is up this year, and I cannot wait to get back to a pay-as-you-go programme.
I have always only had pay as you go.
I do not phone or text that much to warrant a contract phone.
Here, if you put a 100 dollar card on a pay-as-you go, the minutes are good for an entire calender year. last time I had one, I was able to make 100 dollars last 7 months:)
Worst thing I ever did was get locked into a phone contract
My father's phone if he does not send a text say after about six months they threaten to cut the phone off, even though he has abbout £10 of credit on it!
But Rogers, in their greed will be charging a "nice to have fleeced you" fee of $50.00 to unlock my phone.
He only has the phone for emergeny purposes.
That why a one year 100 dollar card is good. you do not have to worry about them eating up the unused minutes
One of my friend id good at that sort of thing. He can unlock phones and things just like that.I on the other hand have no clue.
As far as I am aware, Crossy. We have no such thing over here.
I want mine unlocked so i can use this as my pay-as-you -go. All I have to do is swap out the sim card
Drove me nuts worrying about unused minutes at the end of the month.
That is too bad, zooz
:(
He uncoded his htc one so that he can download any phone app and not be tied to a certain type of phone apps made just for that phone. So now he can download any and they work fine.
Wish I was that clever..lol
I do not have that skill either:(
I put about £10 or £20 on the phone and that should last about three months or so.
This contract phone was way too expensive. Was 100/month for two iphones;(
well nothing wrong with 80 pounds/ year;)
Yeah that sounds about the right money for a contract.Way too much for me to pay.
No excactly, Crossy. So much better.
I was also very grateful for the free phone he gave me too.
I do not chit-chat on a phone anyways; I like to get on, get the information across, then get off asap
free is good:)
when I do top up the phone company normally send me a text saying I can for that weekend have free text messaging. So an even better bargain!
Oh I am the same, Crossy.Still not used to the slight delay when talking on the mobile. So annoying to keep talking just as the other person is..lol On a normal landline phone of course there is no such problem.
Sorry I seem to have hogged the chat again...Finding this grid rather hard.
lol. i remember in my youth when we called gramma in the U.K It was horribly expensive and they still used the trans-oceanic cable for it. That cable had a full 7 second delay and it was very hard to talk on it. You almost had to write out your conversation ahead of time. dad also limited is to ten minutes tops. was a interesting time for international long distance:)
If someone else wants the chat i will zip it:)
otherwise it is fair game;)
hahaha yeah that is some big delay!
yup, you had to be very careful to wait for the response to come back before you spoke again
$1.65/ a minute in the early 70's was not cheap!
No it was not not but they have come a long way since. And the price has come down a lot really.
the entire thing had to be routed though the international operator with all numbers starting with 011
kids do not realize how lucky they have it. Now they cant text globally in seconds:)
I am finding this grid a tad difficult as well:(
I am sure they used to be manned by the tele-operator to connect you too.How they did that wih all those wires to plug you into the right exchange is beyond me!
I think there are two odd Irish W words in here as well. Been hunting for them all day:(
Do you know what they start with?
They had just stopped using the letter exhanges by the time I was allowed to use the phone, but those long distance calls were a rare thing and a memorable event
think there is one wh6
or it is a wa 6
I am leaning towards a wa 6
I may have to cull the chog history a bit
That one was clued by Sprite much earlier if you are going to hunt that one down, Crossy.
Organizing my papers here, and I see I need to renew my U.K passport:)
I will check the chat log archive and give you her clue.Hang on a sec or two.
k zooz, ty
WA 6/39 Take the wrist time device. Put the middle letter last. Insert a vowel after the vowel.
Hi Crossy and Zooz! Crossy, I never did get to any of your jigidi puzzles - found Sprite's and am working on her dragon collage
I thought you had renewed your passport already. Unless you had just mentioned it a while ago if I recall correctly.
Sprites are fun as well. Mine will be there when you are ready for them;)
Hello, Kamanjah :-)
I may have mentioned it recently. My short term emory is not the best and I tend to repeat myself:)
memory
So do I so I would'nt worry about it :-)
Did you understand the clue at all?
:)
sorry zooz, just getting to the clue now, one sec...
No worries. If oyu need more of a nudge let me know.
sorry, i still cannot get it:(
It was a word I've never seen before and it wasn't even in the dictionary provided. AND, it's an alternative spelling, but it means to drink deeply
And...FW!
Okay you have the tick tock word WA 5/22

Take out the 3rd letter and place it on the end..now where you took out the third letter replace it with the 5th vowel.

ty molly
*!* ta da *!* -- thanks for the help with this ugly grid
Anyone care to join me as a team to volunteer for editing enable?
I'd love to. But Enable is an outdated word list that will remain the source of the words in this grid until another word list, or dictionary is attached. Since word is that this game will never be updated, I think we are stuck with Enable.
They should call it disable
Why can;t we ask Dr God to use a different word list? hHe is pretty good about trying to be helpful when trolls are around.
Hello all.
I thought I saw that Dr God has already generated the grids for the next 5 years or something like that, so changing the word list would be less simple than it might seem.
oh. Thanks for the info wht.
Just remember that this is a recollection of something I think I saw in the chat log. So I guess that means it must be true. :^)
clue for the co6 please
co6 camp bed + French water.
Fireworks. And farewell lurkers.
FW!!!! --used lickety and a2z for last 12 after great clues from MollyL for some weird words. Thx Molly!

This tiny grid has a bit of a bite to it, Gwen :-)
