My fault, Molly. I don't tolerate drugs very well (I *really* LIKE to breathe!) and I was afraid of being over sedated. So I didn't take any narcotics when I came home & went 4 days before calling to get some drugs.

No, I didn't mean you were not a good patient. Just that it must be hard to not "manage" your own situation.

Ortho is an area I've never really worked in since I was a student nurse back in the 60's; I wouldn't have tried to manage my situation; but whatever they told me to do, I'd do it to the best of my ability.

we live in funny times -- my friend who's in hospital recovering from heart surgery just emailed me - she knows I'm online late at nite -- asked me to call the hospital -- she had dropped her call button -- i called patient services, was transferred to the nurses's station in her unit, and spoke to a nurse who went in her room and retrieved the call button LOL
