hi, all. my house is a total mess. we are gett8ing ready to have new flooring installed in the living room, hallway and master bedroom next week. Getting rid of carpet in favor of luxury vinyl tile.

7:20 am

Howdy, Angel :) Nice to get rid of the carpets. We hope to go hardwood floor by year's end. :)

7:21 am

Hi kids. We just packed up here at our rented Adirondack cabin and will depart soon.

7:21 am

Hi kids. We just packed up here at our rented Adirondack cabin and will depart soon.

7:21 am

mm, comment is a tad late judging by the time stamp... oh well.

7:21 am

Howdy Scrabby

7:22 am

Crossy, I twisted my ankle hiking yesterday and had to come down 2 miles of the mountain in pain. I went to urgent care. No fracture. My ankle is purple and swollen but I can walk.

7:23 am

good morning, babblers!

7:24 am

It would have been worse without high-top hiking boots, I suppose.

7:24 am

Hi Eva, how many weeks now?

7:24 am

29 weeks, 3 days!

7:25 am

Yay, Eva. Keep growing, little boy.

7:26 am

had to go in yesterday for a 3-hour glucose test (failed the 1-hour, unfortunately), so hoping to get those test results back today -- and hoping i passed!! ::fingers crossed::

7:26 am

If you have gestational DM you will have to follow a strict diet.

7:26 am

i know. im NOT looking forward to that! :X

7:36 am

My daughter had gestational diabetes and she needed insulin shot. She gave them to herself

7:40 am

She was hypoglycemic

7:43 am

You want to prevent the fetus from being hyperglycemic.

7:45 am

Scrabs, sorry to hear about your ankle, been there. What are the affects on the fetus by being hypoglycemic

7:47 am

No, HYPERglycemic. They get to be very BIG and their pancreas pumps out lots of insulin. Then when they are born then keep pumping out insulin and become HYPOglycemic so need glucose infusions for a few days until their pancreas regulates. Infants of diabetic mothers can have other complications as well due to being bathed in glucose and insulin.

7:47 am

Sorry, I drifted away there for a bit. I am sorry about your ankle, Scrabby. As a distance hiker, it is always my one big fear when miles in the bush

7:49 am

Mr. Bich fell while snowshoeing on an icy slope. Walked out of the woods on his own, drove home and he actually had a broken ankle

7:52 am

I feared that yesterday, bichon, that I was hiking on a broken ankle, but I had no choice. I could bear wt and walk. My sister and cousin did not need to depart and summon a park ranger.

7:53 am

good morning all. nbt!

7:53 am

hi Harry

7:54 am

hello bichon

7:54 am

had to turn on the a/c yesterday afternoon

7:54 am

but opened the windows at night

7:54 am

When the doctor heard that Mr. Bich had hiked 1 mile downhill on broken ankle he called him a tugh guy"

7:55 am

*tough guy

7:56 am

hah! just tried ki8 on a whim, and it worked!

7:57 am

I like your doc, bichon - when I broke my foot back in February and walked five blocks to the hospital, mine said I was lucky I didn't make it worse!

7:59 am

Very hot here too.

7:59 am

scrab your weather will be here in a few days, unfortunately

8:00 am

id like to prevent little man from ANY sorts of health issues. so hopefully i passed yesterdays test + the whole thing is a moot point. if not, i will do what it takes to keep myself and the little guy healthy (even if he IS screaming at me from the inside for ALL THE ICE CREAM) ;)

8:01 am

you'll do great EN. as I recall, the worst part of the test was that nasty drink you have to ingest beforehand

8:02 am

i took the test yesterday... the orange wasnt so bad, especially because it was chilled. the fruit punch was much more unpleasant + room temp. blech.

8:03 am

i used the time sitting around the waiting room filling out Thank You cards for my baby shower. :)

8:03 am

I read about the heat dome descending on us.

8:03 am

hoping for good results!

helps to ask for the right thing aeb

9:31 am

Oh, good news! I just had the Codes Enforcement Officer confirm that we have black mold in our office! Also, the other secretary informed me that she brought this to the attention of the previous City Administrator in 2012. Wheeeee!

9:31 am

*please note heavy sarcasm*

9:32 am

But I don't like mushrooms, so I don't know much about the different types of them.

9:32 am

oh jeezus judi

9:32 am

look up Japanese mushrooms aeb

9:32 am

Ty ruru

9:32 am

don't like mushrooms either - found the word (en 5 AND 6) and then looked up definition

9:33 am

Yeah. I am livid. Codes guy is going to send down the Building Official. I hope they condemn this dump.

9:34 am

you should have your lungs checked

9:34 am

Words like "willful negligence" and "health hazard" are pinging through my brain right now.

9:35 am

If the other secretary has documentation that she mentioned it in 2012, you have yourself a JUICY law suit.

9:35 am

black mold is nothing to mess with

9:35 am

Well, we'll see how fast the remediation happens. Everyone that has worked here or walked in the building has been exposed.

9:36 am

Other secretary has an e-mail that she sent in 2012. Was told verbally that "they would look into it". No record of anything happening after that.

9:40 am

3:24 pm

lol, gotta love those things you monkey and don't think will work and then they DO. (wa6/30)

3:34 pm

Random typing (the poor monkey has been beaten here more than the dead horse) is a very effective tool when trying to solve this puzzle.

3:35 pm

it's not totally random, we do mostly stick with pronounceable combinations of letters :)

3:35 pm

Except for those Welsh words with no vowels : D

3:36 pm

yeah

3:36 pm

had a good morning today

3:38 pm

molly, can you tell me what the 9 starts with?

3:38 pm

(or anyone else lurking)

3:39 pm

The 9 starts with in

3:39 pm

in 9/90

3:39 pm

Good evening

3:40 pm

The in is a very british sort of word :-) connected to fireplaces

3:40 pm

hi dippnall and glantarell

3:40 pm

Hi Hurshy

3:40 pm

thank you all!

3:40 pm

evening hurshy

3:42 pm

Oh dear, don't tell those wine makers in Napa that in9 is a British word : D

3:43 pm

Do they use it a lot, Molly?

3:44 pm

in9 is a popular American brand of wine

3:45 pm

oh, that one is clearly too good to export, have never seen it here. The word describes a fireplace large enough to sit in...

3:47 pm

Yes, there were lots of fireplaces like that in Colonial America. Some of them still exist.

3:58 pm

today, a teacher i work with was reading a story to the class about a family going to the supermarket, and the mom wins a 5 minute shopping spree for being the 1 millionth customer. the teacher asked the kids, "what would you go get first if you had a 5 minute shopping spree?" a boy who is going into either 2nd or 3rd grade immediately said, "the most expensive thing, so i can sell it." and when she said, "ahhh, but do you know what IS expensive," he said, "truffle mushrooms."

3:59 pm

i told him later that i thought he was a born businessman.

4:00 pm

sounds like his family eat well :-)

4:01 pm

either that or he watches cooking shows - i've never bought truffles myself, but seen them used on the food network. :)

4:01 pm

Let's hope he's not another Donald Trump!!

4:02 pm

yeah, the next order of business should be to make sure he gets thoroughly imbued with ethics and empathy

4:02 pm

that way, he could be the next warren buffet instead. :)

4:03 pm

Sorry, i'm going back to lurking now..i've just back to get my last 90 words, but i couldn't help myself!

4:03 pm

122 for me

4:03 pm

:)

4:05 pm

I started at lunch time Glant for an hour and then had to go out with the bairn to get clothes for college. Hi to Hurshy and Glant by the way :)

4:07 pm

I started this morning and then have had grandchildren all day..... 5 of them at times. Some of whom are picky eaters. Drives me nuts.

4:11 pm

5 Glant? Eeh you've got more patience than i have! I used to hate it when the bairn brought her friends home for tea and were really picky. It drove me nuts too!

4:13 pm

3 of them eat everything they are given. The other 3 are picky, thankfully I didn't have all 6 today but I did end up cooking 2 different meals for the 5 that were here. Plus something utterly different for myself LOL

4:16 pm

We wer'e never allowed to be picky and i must admit i brought the bairn up to be the same.If we/she didn't eat our/her food we didn't get pudding/or/and sweets

4:17 pm

My two are like that. And their children are also brought up that way here. Sadly, my son's ex partner just gives in.

4:18 pm

hey all -- bore da (noswaith dda?)!

4:19 pm

We're all going to have different tastes and there re going to be foods that we don't like but when alot of children are brought up on processed food or just allowed to get away with not eating what is put in front of them is different.

4:19 pm

thinking I will have to list at 65 to go

4:19 pm

She is on holiday for a week, she went last Sunday, so we have her 7 year old and 3 year old. She rang tonight and spent 5 minutes asking them how much they missed her and loved her. They have been great all week. Both been miserable since that phone call. It's all about her.... and she just gives in all the time for an easy life.

4:19 pm

Hi ((stid)). How are you hin.School finished yet?

4:19 pm

Noswaith dda Stid. long tome no see :-)

4:20 pm

I refuse to cook separate meals, but with all my food allergies, I understand limitations, so I am willing to accommodate actual dietary restrictions.

4:20 pm

I have 74 and thinking the same Stid :)

4:21 pm

:-D indeed, off school for a month today. Had a bad reaction so "lost" two weeks of vacation to feeling miserable, but all healed up now and enjoying my two new cymbals and a tibetan "singing bowl" that is really a lovely bell...

4:21 pm

The processed food is the biggest problem. I cook everything form scratch, because that's how I was brought up. At least 3 of the grandchildren reject a lot of food because it is not 'mushed up' and does require chewing. They are fine with burgers, chicken nuggets, sausages, hot odgs etc but give them a roast dinner and the meat is 'too hard'.

4:21 pm

Food allergies are differrent Stid

4:22 pm

They sure are.

4:23 pm

The two pickiest assured me they loved Yorkshire puddings. I made some splendid Yorkshire puddings. They didn't like or eat them. It turns out they love Aunt Bessies Yorkshire puddings.

4:23 pm

Aww,I'm sorry to hear about your bad reaction but glad you're feeling better.

4:23 pm

True -- but it's surprising how many people think I am just "picky" and decide to test my reaction...

4:23 pm

oh, that is terrible, Glantarell

4:24 pm

I LOVE Tibetan singing bowls.

4:24 pm

Many, many years ago, I wanted to try Yorkshire pudding (this was before the allergies took hold). Not sure if what Mother produced was "authentic" but is was very tasty!

4:25 pm

If it was all puffed up and golden brown around the edges, then it was authentic! We make individual Yorkshires, but the original way of serving them was to serve a large one before the main course. That way, people were half full and were fine to eat less meat.

4:26 pm

We also make a large Yorkshire, into which we add cooked sausages - this is 'Toad in The Hole'. Yummy

4:26 pm

yes, it was -- so yummy. Not sure how to make a vegan gluten-free version, but I am sure there is something out there.

4:26 pm

I am not quite so sure!

4:27 pm

That's awful Glant! There's nowt like a home cooked Yorkshire pud! So i suppose even if you made home made burgers they wouldn't eat those either? They'd have more flavour than the shop ones! I bought some expensive burgers once, proper beef ones that had no flavour what so ever, so i always make my own now and i like pork or turkey burgers.

isn't that made with roast drippings?

4:28 pm

"real" food often has more complex flavors and textures compared to processed and canned/frozen

4:28 pm

One will eat burgers of any kind, the other won't. I usually make my own burgers. I like them better. Temple Owl, Yorkshire puddings are best cooked in smoking hot beef dripping, yes.

4:29 pm

Toad in the hole...i haven't had that in yonks as i don't eat sausages that much.

if i type tonsil one more time...

4:29 pm

hello all. Does anyone other than me wonder if the rise in the rate of autism could be related to the rise of processed foods and all the chemicals that are used to preserve them?

4:30 pm

So tonight, for example, I had made meatballs in tomato sauce to serve with pasta. One grandchild just wanted pasta. One wanted pasta with cheese. One had the meatballs but with almost no sauce. Two had the dinner as planned and served LOL

4:30 pm

hey bugs! :-) how's the kitchen looking?

4:30 pm

Hi TO and Bugs :)

4:30 pm

I think that may well be true Bugsaw. The trouble with processed food is also that there are so many additiives, in many combinatiosn.

4:30 pm

it is going slowly but coming together. I will send pictures when it is done completely.

4:31 pm

LOL TO -- I have several phantoms today

4:31 pm

good deal

4:31 pm

Oh, tonsil. Keep seeing it...

4:31 pm

I think Maybe years ago Yorkshire pudding were made with beef dripping TO, some people might still cook them that way now but not so much

4:33 pm

That sounds lovely Glant. I would have eaten it.I would have just served it up to all of them and said, eat what you want or don't but there's nowt else, so you'll be hungry later as i'm not cooking 3 different meals.Do they help you cook?

4:33 pm

Glantrell, those kids may be picky but at least you only made one meal so it was a good compromise.

4:34 pm

Scientists are beginning to realise we are eating all wrong. The dietary advice issued by the UK & US goverments since the 1960s has emphasised high carb consumption and that has done so much harm - to health, but also to tastebuds. And having to create 'low fat' foods has resulted in so many chemical additivies, salt and sugar that it's no wonder so many people are ill.

4:34 pm

family homes should not be considered restaurants where everyone can order something different.

4:35 pm

When I had friends over for lunch the other week I provided basic salad fixings and invited everyone to bring something they liked to top the salad. Then I also got rolls and lunch meats "just in case" -- most of them ended up having sandwiches, but I had an amazing salad!

4:35 pm

I have tried getting the picky ones in particular to help me cook - mainly to show them that the food they are rejecting is made of ingredients they like. It doesn't work, they still done't eat it.

4:35 pm

and they are finding that there can be a relationship between the gut and brain function. I think it should be looked into much more but I am not a scientist

4:35 pm

Glantarell -- how much of the UK advice was based on availability of foods and the ability to supplement B vitamins and such through grains?

4:36 pm

excellent tactic, Glant. Too bad it didn't work

4:36 pm

Yes, gut flora can have many effects. The Swedish Government have amended their dietary advisce and now advocate a High Fat Low Carb diet - the general health of Sweden's population is improving, obesity id reducing, aling with dabetes.

4:37 pm

That's true Glant but also scientists keep telling us different things...I've been bought up to know that we should boil veg and then steam and then boil and steam again, the same with chocolate, it's bad for you and now a little a day is good..Some food which was good is now bad and vice a versa.it changes all the time and i can't keep up

4:37 pm

It's amazing how many children seem to use food as a weapon -- it's something they have control over, I think. And then there are some kids who have aversions to specific textures because of sensory processing issues. I sometimes wonder how many kids become that way because most of the foods infants and small children receive are so processed.

4:37 pm

UK & US advice was very similar, based on a 1960s misconception that fat was the 'enemy', where in reality, fat is not the enemy, but sugar is.

4:39 pm

We had a pretty typical "American" diet when I was growing up -- meat at every meal, some sort of grain/bread, loads of butter, and often some sort of vegetable that had been boiled into submission...

4:39 pm

It has been an education for these two grandchildren this week. I have met them halfway with food choices, but yes, kif the dinner isn't finished they didn't get pudding. And I have alternated meals - one day something well within ther comfort zone, the next day something new. Their diets are alarmingly restricted.

4:39 pm

It's a shame it didn't work Glant, but it sounds like they are just going to be picky anyway!

4:40 pm

good for you glantarell -- exposing them to new foods is the first step. :-)

4:40 pm

I tried ham and cheese tortellini yesterday - they like ham, cheese and pasta. They didn't like it.

4:40 pm

I miss tortellini....

4:41 pm

aw...

4:41 pm

great conversation here. I have enjoyed it but must be off to the recycling center. Downsizing the kitchen is creating an awareness of how many extras I have. Happy Babbling everyone

i love ravioli but hate tortellini....i hate all pasta except filled and spaghetti

thank you

6:57 pm

that actually sounds like a porno title to a movie or something :D

7:06 pm

It's a good time to think positive thoughts about the world instead of dramatic, negative ones.

7:06 pm

a story who helps women with flat tires by inflating..oh never mind

7:06 pm

what molly?

7:07 pm

The news from France.

7:09 pm

oh.. I just checked. that's terrible.

7:12 pm

this is the major holiday in that area packed with travelers.. awful

7:13 pm

Lots of terrorist things happening in France. Terrible shame.

7:15 pm

has any group claimed responsibility?

7:15 pm

I'm so glad my parents don't live in a major city.My hearts go out to all families that have lost someone

7:16 pm

Not yet Ru

7:16 pm

I think it's too new to know anything like that.

7:16 pm

if it is ISIS.. france will bomb the shit out of them

7:17 pm

Good for you LIl. It's better to send good thoughts than to wallow in the negative aspects of the situation.

7:18 pm

oh .. was my comment negative? i'm sorry

7:19 pm

Nope, your comment was not negative or dramatic.

7:20 pm

No, Ru, it was against me!!

7:20 pm

what?

7:20 pm

what was against you?

7:21 pm

Gee, I said "good for you Lil" and then it's "it was against me"???

7:25 pm

Sorry, i took it as a negative, i'm not with it at the moment, i have a 16 nearly 17 year old arguing the toss over every thing i do and say

7:26 pm

Sorry Molly, nothing personal

7:27 pm

Plus i'm watching the news in France

8:00 pm

Molly, it was your 7.06 that got me as i thought you were having a go about what i'd said earlier at 6.53.

8:20 pm

Hello again.

8:22 pm

Hi Nef

8:22 pm

Fireworks so am going unles you need some clues?

8:23 pm

How are you doing tonight, lill?

8:23 pm

YAY, lillian!!! WTG!!!

8:24 pm

I'm good thanks but putting my foot in my mouth i think! :)

8:24 pm

Saying that, i'm good at that!! :D

8:24 pm

How are you hin?

8:26 pm

No, you don't need to hang around for me; I'm going to be doing this off & on this evening; I just got back home after getting a bunch of stuff done (picking up CSA veggies; taking grandson to tae kwon do, taking bike to my son; etc. & I still have to do my veggies & put them in trig yet.)

8:27 pm

I'm fine; reading back; I find it hard to keep conversations straight at times too in chat!

8:28 pm

Mmmm, so you haven't done much today then! :)

8:28 pm

What are CSA veggies?

8:29 pm

Our floors are being refinished & the house is completely in a jumble; we're having the front room & from bedroom being done this week & then next week our bedroom & the dining room floors.

8:32 pm

Community Supported Agriculture. We pay small farmers a lump sum (usually in March, about $500 - $700 per year, depending on what they raise; then we get about a bushel of veggies each week from June through Sept. or Oct.

8:33 pm

I think sometimes we take offense when we shouldn't, and i'm one of these people.I read quickly and don't take it in as i should do, but my brain doesn't take it in as i'm reading it.I have problems with my head so i don't always take in everyhting i read.

8:34 pm

So every Thursday we go & pick up our fresh, organic veggies, & our farmer has rinsed them off & packed them in bins or boxes; so we take our veggies out of the box, collapse it for next week, bring them home & wash & store them in the frog.

8:34 pm

So i take it, you have wooden floors Nef?

8:35 pm

Lillian, I think that is so easy to do.

8:37 pm

yes, and they are beautiful oak floors. When we moved in here, this place was wall to wall carpeting. when we finally took up the carpet, the floors were weird-looking: I think that the previous owner had tried to refinish them himself & used 2 different products because the finish was bubbly & coming off.

8:37 pm

Not, surprising you're in a mess having to move furniture every where!I don't understand you paying small farmers?

8:37 pm

Sorry read 8.34

8:38 pm

Bushel and frog?

8:38 pm

SO we (I) decided to just let that wear away --- for 15-18 years! -- before we refinished it! (I was slacking at the job & kept putting it off)

8:39 pm

Oh wow! Oak floors...beautiful!

8:40 pm

LOL! Refrigerator!! :-) I keep saying FRIG & it changes it to Frog & I'm not paying attention!

8:41 pm

I have crap laminated wood flooring but with a wheelchair, it's probably not worth spending alot on it.But underneath our laminate is concrete.

8:41 pm

Wood floors are so much easier to take care of than carpeting (especially if someone spills a lot!)

8:42 pm

LOL, but it's great that you can get fresh produce

8:44 pm

I agree with the cleaning of wood flooring, hell of a lot easier to clean

8:44 pm

Yes, occasionally my hubby is in a wheel chair too; so I know how that goes. He has MS; & sometimes he uses a cane (not lately though) & he uses a walker; but rarer still he uses the hell chair. He screwed up his handicapped scooter again last night; I'm so mad at him that I could just SPIT when he does that!

8:45 pm

a concrete base floor is so hard on the feet, knees & hips if you're walking on them all the time

8:46 pm

Lol...Do you mean mobility scooter?I have one of those too.

8:46 pm

(last night - for some odd reason - he backed HARD into a wall & the darn scooter quit & we can't find out what happened to it)

8:47 pm

yes, a mobility scooter.

8:48 pm

We live in an ex council house and all floors have concrete floors but there are always carpets or wooden floors.

8:48 pm

Nef, try looking carefully at the back of the scooter. Apparently there is a button back there that the technicians press to stop everything while they are working on it.

8:48 pm

Sorry, watching the news and the French president is speaking and saying that 77 were killed and alot of them were children

8:49 pm

Really Bugs? We've taken it apart & put it together a couple of times; but I didn't remove the cover because I couldn't figure out how to remove it. I will try again.

8:50 pm

lil, MPR (Minnesota Public Radio)just said they have now confirmed 80 dead just this minute. :-( I'm just sick about this for the French

8:51 pm

Try phoning the fix it place. My son worked on those and told me about it. Once he saw a man in a scooter being abusive to people on the sidewalk by aiming right at them so he flicked the button with his foot. The fellow was grounded and no-one knew what happened but were grateful that karma had intervened.

8:52 pm

And Bugs; that would make sense. There is absolutely no power to anything on it; I looked for disconnected wires & couldn't find any; but a button makes sense

HI. I just needed a Hi from everyone.

8:53 pm

Good idea, Bugs. I'll see if we have a phone number somewhere

8:53 pm

Hi herein. Hope you are well

8:53 pm

Hi herin; how are you tonight/day?

8:54 pm

All those poor bairns!

Struggling with the ills of the world and a first world problem of dealing with new technology

8:54 pm

Hi Herin, nice to see you hin :)

8:54 pm

They were celebrating a national holiday. How terrible to make people afraid of gathering together for fun.

8:55 pm

new technology? New computer or what?

Hi. So I thought I would drop into the chat and say hi.

8:55 pm

herein, I could trade you a cranky husband for a frustrating piece of technology if that would help

8:56 pm

Apparently they tried at the european football, but it didn't work out

8:56 pm

I know, Bugs. It was Bastille Day, similar to our 4th of July.

8:57 pm

lill, are you hearing it's definitely a terrorist group?

8:57 pm

Nef, i don't know what type of scooter your hubby has but i haven't got a clue about mine.Hubby and the bairn do things to it

8:58 pm

nothing in clear yet Nef but the truck was full of guns and ammo

8:58 pm

They think it is Nef.There were guns in the back of the truck

8:59 pm

I just heard they found an identity card; 1 of the people was from French Tunisia

8:59 pm

snap. liliiann

Nef. New iphone means new itunes and setting everything up.

8:59 pm

They are saying that he shot through his windscreen but all i've heard is that he ran over people

9:00 pm

:) Bugs

9:00 pm

And they said that about 400 people in France left to help with ISIS & other groups & about 250 have returned from Tunesia from that 400.

9:00 pm

They're saying most dead are bairns

9:01 pm

Oh, no, lil! how awful!

9:01 pm

There was alot of bullets in the windscreen but i think that was the police shoting the driver

9:01 pm

*shooting

9:01 pm

oh dear, herein. The last time we got a new phone I found the setup much too complicated so my son recorded our voice message to leave a message if we are not home. His ex=girlfriend and mother of my grandkids, hates hearing his voice but I can;t change it

9:01 pm

herin, did you have an iPhone before or an android?

I had an old iphone 4. The battery life was getting to non exsistant.

And right now I can't even think about France. it makes me so sad

9:04 pm

My last phone was a Samsung; but my new phone is an iPhone 6. I've had it for nearly 9 - 10 months & I still don't know how to do some stuff with it

9:05 pm

I need to go to bed now. Night Nef, Bugs and Herin.Lovely to chat to you all.Take care and hugs.

9:05 pm

goodnight, lilliann. sleep well

I had the 4 for 5 years. I had to get a new printer too as the drivers don't work on windows 10.

LIlian loves

9:06 pm

Take care of yourself too, lill. Good night!

I can't even read the news as the photos and like are too much for me

9:08 pm

I'm not turning on the TV because I don't want to see how horrid it is.

Me too

9:14 pm

I haven't spoken to you lately herin; but the young man Philando Castille, was shot & killed in a small suburb here just under 5 miles from our home. The protest marches & stuff has been on the TV 24/7 here; so we are just listening to the news on the public radio because it's just too much

9:14 pm

lets just play in our happy little world of Babble. I am with you too

9:16 pm

Bugs; I'm not ignoring current events; I'm just preventing despair and depression (in DH) and nightmares for me

9:19 pm

I agree. I hope it didn't sound like I was being condescending. I can't watch terrible things either, especially when it is so far away that there is nothing I can do to help. I hate feeling powerless.

en6, please?

9:20 pm

en 6/30 is a pl of en 5/18

Nef it is too much for me. Not being ignorant just can't deal

9:22 pm

Marc, I don't have en 6,18

9:23 pm

I didn't think you sounded condescending Bugs. I have a confession: I can't even think of killing a stupid fish that belongs to my son but is at our house (for various reasons) and none of us *really* want it! I just can't think of anything that cruel!

9:24 pm

en 5/18 is a Japanese mushroom

9:24 pm

me too, Nef. I hate it when the cats bring in a wounded animal. My husband has to deal with it for me.

ok. i am heading off

9:26 pm

take your phone back to the shop where you got it, hereing and have the young kids set it up for you. Sleep weel

I have done it all. Just need to get other things done

Love you all.

9:28 pm

Same here, Bugs. Or what's even weirder, is that I'll take a wounded animal over to the Wildlife Rehab Center & pay $100 or more each time to have them treat the animal. (this past year it was a box turtle that had a broken shell (possibly ran over?) and a wounded wild rabbit. They told me that wild rabbits rarely live if injured; but this was the 3rd one I've taken there in the past 5 years!

9:29 pm

Love you herin. Take care.

9:29 pm

you are a good person, Nef. No shame in being kind hearted.

9:30 pm

(maybe that's why I'm a nurse? Or is it that nursing made me this way?)

9:31 pm

probably both.

9:32 pm

who knows?

9:34 pm

I couldn't be a nurse because I am not good at seeing people suffer. I was a palliative Hospice care worker for a few years but could not do it forever.

9:37 pm

I have another confession: I don't DO vomit! If a patient omitted ; I vomited with them. At least when I worked in ICU, I would tell them that if they felt the least bit nauseous, they should tell me because I had medications for that ! :-D

9:38 pm

me too! Even with my kids I was a sympathetic vomiter. They learned to run for the bathroom

9:39 pm

Yep! DH always had to take care of that if our kids got sick.

9:44 pm

I am going to hurl....

9:44 pm

who, ruru?

9:45 pm

oh, hurl. I saw hurt.

9:45 pm

After reading about vomiting

9:45 pm

without the sound effects, I have no problem

9:45 pm

Urrrrrrrrgh

9:46 pm

you don't give up easily, do you?

9:46 pm

Our cat pukes occasionally; DH is "assigned to that task too.

9:47 pm

I must be off to finish loading more kitchen cupboards.

9:47 pm

I hated that sound from the cats

9:47 pm

ruru, we just might have to skip your posts in chat tonight if you keep it up!

9:47 pm

You have company now bugs?

9:48 pm

Or did you just buy groceries for the month?

9:48 pm

no, they have gone and the cupboards are in but we have no counters or sink for another week or so.

9:48 pm

Oh wow

9:49 pm

Oh; a new redo of your kitchen? That is so much fun!

9:49 pm

No wonder mr bugs is cranky

9:49 pm

exactly. so am I

9:50 pm

It is so hard living through a remodel

9:50 pm

I did that 3 years ago; I'm still loving it

9:50 pm

It has been fun to design and watch it come together Nef but Mr. Bugs hates change of any kind. I am sure he will get over it if I let him live that long.

9:50 pm

poof

9:51 pm

Lol

9:51 pm

I'm having our floors refinished, ru. Talk about a mess!

9:51 pm

I am having a deck built right now.

9:52 pm

I hate having the floors done..ugh

9:52 pm

How big is it?

9:52 pm

It wraps around the pool

9:53 pm

I have some bigger pieces of furniture I needed help moving; We had to take the hutch and an antique desk apart to get them out of the rooms

9:53 pm

Yikes

That sounds nice! How deep is your pool at the deepest, ru?

9:53 pm

9 ft

9:55 pm

Back to my walk. Just had to rest for a bit. Bye nef

9:55 pm

That's good, you had said (the last time I saw you here) that it was a fairly small pool (?10X 18?) but at least if someone jumps into the pool from your deck they won't hurt themselves

9:58 pm

And I should finish my veggies & get them in the frig before it's too late. I have 72 words left to find; I've hit the wall & if I don't find anymore when I come back it will be time for Lickety

11:12 pm

I'm trying to figure out if I want to start watching Mr. Robot

11:16 pm

Well, it's fascinating but depressing, I think. And it can be a little hard to follow.

11:19 pm

that's what I'm finding. I have a tendency to lose interest in shows where I have to watch faithfully each week or I lose track of who's what.

11:21 pm

It doesn't help any that the main character is delusional and sometimes under the influence of drugs. You can't always tell what's supposed to be real.

11:23 pm

I mgith have to get season one and watch it

11:24 pm

found some bugs in the grid

11:25 pm

Bug words, you mean?

11:25 pm

yep. I like to call out the members of the animal kingdom when I see them

11:27 pm

I thought maybe you meant computer bugs.

11:31 pm

nah, I just try to distinguish myself from the other babblers with an eccentric hobby....

11:33 pm

Well, bye for now.
