What has happened?
Some man drove down a crowded street and ran over a bunch of people.....10 dead and I can't remember how many were injured. I'm sure you would have been contacted by now if your people were there. We had a thing in Nashville, Tennessee this afternoon.....some young man went into a Waffle House restaurant and killed several people.
I can't seem to remember things like this happening all the time......I wish I knew what the answer is....or if there, indeed is an answer.

Lickety is in the chat section. I turned the list on and it came to life. 223 letters. We can type words into the list and it accepts them. Maybe there is hope here after all. Check it out, y'all.

Mother has her ups and downs health wise but is doing okay. Father is still frail and can not do much. Did not stop him ordering a ruddy great big wooden shed which when it arrives I have got to put up lol
Winter was a bit cold but no where near as bad as the north of the UK got. Weather warmed up a bit here the other day so I turned my heating off and it promptly went nippy again LOL

It is harder trying to add words to lickety than here as if a word is not correct you have to delete the ruddy word out of the box before trying again!

His husband Ryan is in hospital... we are still waiting for some absolute good news. Cautiously optimistc now... but it has taken a toll on cos. It's a lot for the shoulders of one so young. He was here earlier. Will likely be on again tomorrow.
ty ursh... I'll keep the puter running all night if needed, or handwrite my list of words found. I spend a lot of time scrlling up and down. The only thng I dislike about lickety is iy will accept the same word many times, so you have to keep an eye on the list.
I know he is not here now but ((Cosdem)) I will be thinking of you chap and know there are people here to try nad support you even if it is only verbally.

If you do put words into lickety list do not close it or refresh as the words will not be there when you go back to it. You will have to keep the page open.

me too. when I had no wifi at home for a while ages ago, I was going to a computer cafe... I could never wake up a sleeping computer, so I stay awat from that option ;)
of course, that was a much newer puter than mine - touch scfreen and windows 10..
All I do is move the mouse and it will wake the computer up again.
I may get brave and try that. Mice I undertand - not so much on the fancy newer stuff

Click that button and all of the words you have input will be listed. Right click “Select Allâ€, then right click “Copyâ€. Paste that copied list into a word document and at least your words won’t be lost of the puzzle does get fixed. If you close down Lickety, you WILL lose your words.

Don't know if any of you play Prolific on FB... it's a great group of weird-word-loving folks. It's a clone of Boggle. I recommend it for severe cases of Babble withdrawal.

But then, if the puzzle gets fixed, you don't have a list of words to easily enter into it. You have to retype all 223 of them...
next to the 'Get all added words" there is another box "send to Clipbpoard" ie it will copy all the words onto your clipboard...then open new Word document and Paste. Voila!

It will happen if you close down lickety and re-open again. Best to keep it open.

In the almost 13 years that I have been playing, this has never happened and for this long. VERY worried about the fate of Dr. God.

The copyright just means that someone could legally reverse engineer. It doesn't mean it dies. And Dr. God could renew the copyright.

If anyone wants to play anyway... If you are using Lickety, you can input all of the words like normal. Then go below the bottom of the list to a box where below it is a button that says “Get all added Wordsâ€. Click that button and all of the words you have input will be listed. Then click the “Send to Clipboard†button and Paste that copied list into a word document. At least your words won’t be lost if the puzzle does get fixed. If you close down Lickety, you WILL lose your words. Once the puzzle is fixed, you can Copy your list from the word document and paste it into the box that has the “Add Bulk†button below it. Click the “Paste from Clipboard†button and Poof! your puzzle is complete. :) But only if they fix it...

I celebrated the first Obama inaugural with Babbleland.
not sure how much further back for me . . .
This June marks my 10th "Babbleversary," and while there have been a few down with all the ups, I would be most sad to see Babble as we know it come to an end. Should Dr. G wish to "retire", I have told him in the past that I am more than capable of setting up a dedicated server tower, and with a bit of coaching from him, continuing to run babble on a day-to-day basis. I hope he has just had a busy day, and everything is fine, but it is times like this that we come to realize how important babble is for all of us--for a wide variety of reasons.

I have always wanted to collaborate with Dr. G and set up Babble as a touch screen game for tablets. The game dynamics would lend itself very well to a touch screen format--no more typing, just tap the tiles with your fingers to enter words.
That would be awesome, Cross. I don't use a tablet but still.
at least we can still solve the puzzle with lickety...
I also had an idea in the past of a bonus 10x10 grid of, let's say 2000 words or so. this way, if you have blasted through the daily grid in short order, you have the monthly one to peck away at.

I remember someone saying that Dr God had already generated years and years worth of grids and set it up for the grid to refresh automatically. So that part still seems to be working. Maybe Enable got tired of our incessant complaining about the list and just went off in a huff.

cos, I don't know if this will help - it's hard to look at things we've been conditioned to regard one way and see as something else (and I hope you've been told this already), but restraints for someone in Ryan's condition are a good thing. For one, they keep him from hurting himself, for another, they can also give him a sense of safety when the delusions are threatening, just like holdiing a child tightly or curling up in a blanket makes you feel protected.
