sprite, i had a good session with psychologist today. we were discussing my narcissistic mother, and how she tr5ed her children. she suggested i list all the things i have to forgive her for and work through the list, forgiving one "sin" at a time. a general foregivness doesn't work. i wonder if it might help you and your narcissistic parent.
it is a great thing to do, hun. Already did that and it works. Very important thing though: allow yourself to fully feel the anger and hurt resulting from each thing first. You cannot truly forgive unless you have allowed yourself to feel the emotions.

He is super happy with results so far, just being a bit over-careful
for pasta, you do not need an oven. If you make the dough, fill it in tiny portions (like ravioli or tortellini), you can cook it like regular pasta. About 5 mins.
Hmm, need to learn how to do pasta with rice flour. Right now, I just buy the rice pasta. Hubby's mom was 1st American-born generation...from Italy

I do oils, tinctures, whatever I have that needs saving, I prep it. I ran out of Everclear for tinctures though, and that's another 35 mile trip the other way... rural living is great, but supplies you can't mail order take extra trips to cities.

There were sweet potatoes I used to buy that were shaped more like an oval/potato shape.. they were not really dark skinned, buthad an orange/yellow flesh... not the deep orange (or what I would call a yam - though I know they aren't really..) the "yams I remember I called rats because they were much more elongated and always had a "tail" on them... I may be entering my dotage ;)

225g cooked potatoes 60g butter or margerine 125g cornflour salt optional: baking powder optional: garlic powder preparation Cook the potatoes or use leftover cold ones. Bereidingswijze 1a) Hot potatoes? Mash them up and mix the butter in. Leave to cool. Sieve the cornflour, mix with salt (and baking powder and garlic powder if you choose). Once the potato mix has cooled off, mix with the flour mix and kneed until you have a supple dough. Move to step 2. 1b) Leftover cold potatoes? Mash them up. Work the butter through the cornflour with a bit of salt (and baking powder and garlic powder if you choose) until you have a crumbly texture. Mix with mashed potatoes. Continue with step 2. 2) Work the potato dough through a sieve. That way you will get a beautiful, supple and smooth dough without potato lumps. 3) Roll out the dough straight on the baking plate: the dough base remains rather floppy and is not easy to transfer. 4) Finish off your pizza with your favorite toppings. Make sure the toppings aren't too wet or fat, because that may cause the pizza base to become soggy. 5) 15 - 20 mins in oven at 200 Celsius and enjoy!

even translation of maizena comes up cornstarch (mostly) and a few give both.
this answer is interesting: "In the US, corn meal is coarse ground maize, corn flour is finely ground maize, and corn starch is a thickener made from refined maize starch. Quick breads are corn meal, flat breads like tortillas are corn flour, and corn starch is used in gravies and pies. We've also got grits, which are ground hominy (maize treated with lye)."
cornstarch is a very odd textured very white powder that actually makes a bit of a squeak sometimnes if you pinch it... it is a thickener... we have corn meal. but I don't think I've ever seen corn flour here... but I don't go to specialty shops.
I think Kam needs to use the corn starch.
so, the question is are yjou using the "corn flour" as a thinckener/binding agent for the potatoes? seems to me that it takes a lot to hold mashed potatoes tohether in a cohesive fashion...

Finishing a degree, late, is a grand accomplishment. l was past 30 when l when l got my masters' - 2 jobs, no money, no husbaand and a 7 yearold!
WHOA! amazing ruby... well in short, ( keep in m ind I am an only child and 2 kids that are finally adults) i finished my B.Ed, my mom was diagnosed with cancer, helped her through that during my MA, commuting to school and back ( 100 km each way) and often times doing that twice in a day to take mum for treatments... and thenmum passed, I had the estate to dea with and then finish my MA, I did take a term off... then applied for my PhD.

all the BS I went through with my DXH and his accident etc years ago... obviously happened for a reason...It prepped me for this long haul.

So now let's talk about me. I went to Dartmouth yesterday for a procedure I've been dreading and quite concerned about. I arrived early as requested. I waited over 2 hours. I was patient thinking somebody must need the doc more than me. As it turns out, they simply forgot me and then it was too late and they couldn't get me in. I had to turn around and drive another 2 hours back home! I hadn't eaten and was emotionally spent. They said I could come back tomorrow.

Hydrangea are beautiful. I go by a house every day that has the whole side planted with them. It looks really nice.
we usually get a few red ones inbetween the blues - I don't purposely adjust the soil pH, but somehow it happens. pretty cool
My regular hydrangea is in a bad spot and prodduces maybe, three blooms a year. My oak leaf one does really well

our poor lawn doesn't get the care it did when Hubs was still around, it's suffered for sure. Parts of it are reforesting, lol
he used to get on the riding mower and "manicure the es6" as he called it, with beer in hand, of course.
Lawns, lawns - used to have a house, large lot, lotsa grass, I did all the mowing. Don't miss it a bit.
Sometimes easy to bring the grass back, other times, not so much. I had a couple of dogs tear up a large patch, too a long time to re-establish.
I have ground covering. agood 3 weeks of dedicated gardening in the spring then gentlemaintenance(weedpulling) every sooften and voila
thankfully I haven't been reduced to mowing it myself, yet, whew.

I live in a city with one of the best comp sci universities in the world, every year the streets fill with Teslas as the execs from Silicon Valley come shopping for grads waving big cheques. Now I'm a five minute walk from Google's new Canadian headquarters and they are planning on expanding by 500% in the next decade and there is interest from a number of tech giants in locating here. There is a real potential for a brain drain coming north. The Trump base is not the future it is an echo of the past. As your nearest neighbour, largest trading partner and most staunch ally, we hope for the best for our friends to the south and sincerely respect and hope for a better future for America.

I have PTSD. My dad served from '36 thru '56 with the Royal corps of Engineers, saw all of WW2 and every horror humanity is capable of. It broke his mind. He terrorized the family and especially me, being the only boy. Th e only person I've ever feared for my life and with good reason. He was a highly trained killer. Physical and emotional violence from my first memory unti I left the house and the emotional violence carried on until he passed on. I'd wake up as a kid and he'd in a fighting stance in my room, it was like living with a nightmare and you never knew when itt would explode. Messed me up good and proper.

Every telling of an experience prefaced with "You must know, that at any time, anyone, can come along and take away everything you have - your toys, books, clothes, friends, home, family, city & even country . . .' Of course, I believed them, because it happened to them. Bonkler, are hypersensitivity & hypervigilance constantly with you, as they are with me?

For two years, people have tried to politely and snarkily suggest that the unsolicited advice and frequent judgment calls made chog uncomfortable. Old timers would come back, try to encourage banter and tamp down the snide comme to Molly directs at people who are too intimidated to tell her to mind her own business. Let's hope this is a good clearing g of the air, and that chog can be a place where we can joke: count the lies, keep your doctor, and move on. Honestly, if I disagreed with HK about her statement, I might have said, I'll be too busy cheering. Or something.

oh well slap me with a fish!
so all spring long I fouhgt with a rat. . . norweign rat. . . big, , ,agressive. . . I believe it made my cat's last weeks miserable. . . but finally killed it. . . .I was so happy until. . . .
found out it had chewed teh wires in my dishwasher (repair bill) . . . stove (repair bill) and almost detroyed my icebox. . . .getting anew one. . .
but I was only because the rat was gone (I named him George)
tonight I saw two mice. . . . .
I suppose that is better than a rat. . . .
rats are destructive!! we have pack rats ~ they love to make a mess of your car wires
and pack under the hood with twigs, leaves and what ever else they find
yeah this thing has cost me a fortune. . . not to mention and that I was miserable whem it came straight at me one night. . .
the thought of mice is exhausting at this point. . .
I left the farm one day and after stopping at the stop sign, got on the high way and my engine was racing..... I finally turned the car off to stop ~~ my husband showed up and a rat had put a bone in my carburetor!!!!

we declared war on them.... my son and grandson have decimated them...haven't seen any in a while
jmc put out mouse traps baited with peanut butter. you won't wait long and they all leave the house after you get 3. Don't know why but it has always been true.
the poison peanut butter didn't work with the rat but maybe with the mice. . . . still have plenty of rat poisin left. . . . had to use industrial sized rate traps (old fashion spring traps) to finally catch the rat. . . .
I wonder if there are only two will that work. . . wroth a try. . . .
just plain peanut butter. no poison needed because it changes the scent. little spring ones work for mice

it should work. they love peanut butter even if there are other things around
interesting. . . I will have to check that out bugs

There is a big rat problem here in my neighborhood. It's awful. Not inside the house, but they are in the yards a lot.
we have hunter cats because my husband hoards junk for his projects.
Just stopped by to see if I could pick up some clues & all I see is talk about rats & mice - sheesh.
My "real" inside kitty and the stay I feed are pretty useless. I think I need a bobcat.
