yup, they're all okay. a little on the ratty side from being cooped up. middle son with three kids has been taking them on long bikes rides around their neighbourhood.

Hello all - all our fast food outlets are closed including bars, restuarants and all non-essential shops, liquor stores closed and supermarkets have cordoned off non-essential items we have to queue one trolley apart outside food stores and only about 50 people allowed in at any one time - our govt has gone really hard on lockdown
eek urshy. that's harsh but if it keeps you safe that's what matters most.our bigger supermarkets have security personnel on door duty, counting people in and out.
We can still get takeout or delivery, but otherwise our restaurants are closed.
I know they've had line-ups like that outside Vancouver supermarkets, but I haven't encountered it here yet. (I try to shop in off-hours.)
maybe because Australia's population isn't so packed into space is why we are able to have a little more freedom. Howie was telling me tat in his county everyone must wear a mask, even when gardening around your own home.
Masks here to if off your own property - no walking, cycling at all - dogs are all getting depressed with lack of walkies
Here, they only just decided to recommend masks (non-medical), but it's not required, and it's not clear that they help much.
Surgical and N95 masks are reserved for medical staff. There's been shortages, and the U.S. has been trying to lock down the supply.
the normal surgical mask is pretty useless after a certain period of time. i know that from when i was working.
loll... a huge shipment of PP gear arrived at Sydney airport from you know where. our officials sent it straight back to them.
My province apparently managed to get a good supply early on, and has been sending some to the harder-hit provinces in Canada.
And in Manitoba, a group designed an alternative to the N95 mask, but hasn't yet found a manufacturer.
We can wear home made masks with 3 layers - the idea is to stop you touching your face while shopping and handling possibly contaminated items

Oh my goodness our local population of vervet monkies are going into breeding season and there is such a war going on in our garden - big males are chasing off young mature males - huge politics in their life

Not so much - we live with them on a daily basis - just very noisy and crashing across the roof
We occasionally get coyotes where I live, but they mostly stay well away from people. They will take stray pets, though.
And some neighborhoods get occasional bobcats, but that's about as wild as it gets where I live.
Its clever though - the young males are chased off and try to join another troop - natural gene spreading

Lots of magpies and crows used to hang out at the dumpsters here, then the city started collecting organic waste for composting, and I saw a lot of consternation amongst the magpies, especially. Now I feed them cat food, which is maybe not smart.

I live in a seaside town and we get lots of DFL's (down from London!} someone asc omplaining on fb about all the holiday cottages full. But it was explained tht most of them were being used free by healthworkers etc to be nearer their jobs
But these weren't, like someone said, on the island they are going to there are 5 doctors. These were just regular people.

Last night I made a redlentil, coconutmilk curry. I was washing out the bottle of red curry sauce and a big lump of mold came out. Saddest dinner ever! I had used all of our spinach and the really good curry powder. I hope our compost is happy with it.

I had to learn to program the one we had to make study sheets for the kids. From there I went on to learn html so I could run a family web page.
that's awesome. I did a family web page back in the early days of internet but pretty much stopped when facebook came along. I think I had a program that helped me with it but I don't rem. wish I could rem. the website so I could look at it now.
I gave up when family members stopped sending me stuff - we had a monthly publications for about 3 years.

we've had high winds and sporadic rain bands all day but not critical. Will have a few limbs to pick up, I'm sure, and we're under a tornado advisory but we very rarely see those (and they're usually touch downs during a hurricane). Im trying to get the baby to go outside but she knows there is something coming and, so far, hasn't gone to potty. Need to try some more with her.
